just a quick sharp objects word vomit that may or may not make sense.

can we just acknowledge that scene where all of camille’s grown up friends were having a get together and started crying over that movie and then that one wife started crying about how her husband didn’t want to have five children.

yeah, the women are mean, but we see such a brutality in their internal and external behaviors. like the crying was a lot—was it an attention seeking cry? or just an internal shame that you won’t be able to have another child. cause it’s clear there is a message about a woman’s worth being directly tied to her incubator capabilities. so societally ingrained it sometimes becomes the only thing they can focus on. if the woman can’t provide another child, what’s her purpose? that they didn’t feel like woman until a baby was inside of them.

the fact that they even go on to say, TO CAMILLE WHO LOST A SISTER AT A YOUNG AGE, that she wouldn’t be able to feel the loss bc she doesn’t have children. come on. it was rlly good line to show just how deep being a mother matters as a status symbol. as a way to be human or garner sympathy. as if those mothers even cared about those two girls when they were alive.

it’s even more crazier with how lax everyone in the town is about the murders, so focused with betting on whether it’s a grieving teenager or father. yet the tears come out during the movie. idek.

just finished sharp objects and holyyy shitttt. at times, it was a little slow for me (i’m trying to have a better attention span) but such a good show. amma gave me bad vibes from the start.

i can’t stop thinking about their names. how amma is just an anagram for mama. how the softness of those arrangement of letters, most of the time a baby’s first word, became attached to such a jagged and harrowing character. and ofc adora being a play on adoration, adoring her children to death.

such an incredible show with incredible detail.

shane koyczan’s poetry absolutely ruins me. the first time I heard “To This Day” I think I was 13? My whole body felt the words and every emotion I was holding in was released. it made me whole when i could only feel my cracks. i have no way to repay this man. “The Crickets Have Arthritis” was one I heard more recently, and its effect on me was the same. the power in his voice and words is unprecedented. thank you shane.

okay so teenage bounty hunters is such a fucking glorious show wtf??? this is actually how teens talk and it has the perfect amount of realness and naïvety that comes with growing up in this digital era (albeit v upper class cause these ppl are rich) but every interaction was hilarious or heartbreaking and ugh it was such a good show overall. i ended up loving miles but i actually don’t know where i stand with him at the end and bro browser, sterling, and blair have my entire heart this trio is immaculate and every interaction with blair i die ugh such a feel good show with complex characters and storylines. also i did NOT expect that wlw but i am more than pleasantly surprised. literally my thought every time two girls are fighting over a guy is why don’t the two girls just get together??? and guess what IT FUCKINF HAPPENED (with some terms and conditions cause no happily ever after) (we still like himbo oblivious luke) anywayyy 10/10 i adored this show
