Half asleep on the train My mind is kept awake by this Vividly vague memory of Our apartment Sitting at our kitchen table In the late afternoon of summer Staring at the cheap tan wood Choking on the humidity That thick layer of disorienting heat Under the rickety ceiling fan Total stillness in the room Deep stillness The ugliest carpeting you will ever witness Paired with an equally attractive linoleum But the walls The walls were at least somewhat ours That aqua bathroom with the weird shower curtain Ur lime green dressing room With the hot pink sheer curtains that would tint the room the chocolate brown walls of our bedroom

the cheesy ass decor of the living room giving the facade that we were newlyweds or something just as idiotic

you were always so consistent. so intent

and i was always changing

flipping through phases in an almost manic way

that couch

where we would watch redbox movies

and fall asleep on each other

we had this whole life

within our lives

our little baby lives that weren't even lives yet

we were all we had

now we've got so much more to ourselves

your footsteps on the porch mid day

when you'd come home for lunch

always so driven and seemingly accomplished

and id gaze across the table at you wondering wtf I was going to do with myself

its amazing

how it all got so fucked up

Theyre homophobic and have  ptsd from a horific experience in a random gay bar they wandered into unknowingly once in a remote area of a big city and shit got a little cray forcin them to  turn to religion and repent because they secretly liked it and now they are really just too broke to go out to ANY parties because they spend so much money on psychotherapy. 3.
