I ❤️ self-loathing characters, characters who struggle with monstrosity (either fearing or embracing it), characters who are so lonely, who have a gaping hole in their chest, who bottle up & repress their feelings, who claw their way up & have ambitions, who fall down & lose everything, who search for identity & purpose yet can’t see themselves outside of what others want from or expect of them, who are hurt & hurt others, who long & grieve, who lie & pretend. characters who are messy & flawed & human

wrote a thing. Fandom: DCU (Comics), DCU, Superman - All Media Types, Superman (Comics) Rating: Explicit Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Clark Kent/Lois Lane Characters: Lois Lane, Clark Kent, Perry White Additional Tags: Lois is dominative, Clark is submissive, Workplace Sex, Light Voyeurism, Clark Kent eats pussy, Lois is a good tease, roleplay kink, Established Relationship Summary:
“Hey uh, sorry your date with Superman didn’t go well today,” Clark said, tone apologetic. He raised his left hand and brushed his hair.
“What are you sorry for, it’s not like you stood me up. Superman did.”
“Well… Yes but, still sucks, you know?”
Lois didn’t look up, but instead looked across. From her space, she could see Perry still busy, and shifted her gaze to Clark. She looked at him with hungry eyes, and grabbed him by the tie.
“Well, if you’re apologetic for him, then maybe you can do what he was supposed to do,” she said, pulling the tie across from the top of the cubicle to the side and then towards her.
Of course, she couldn’t normally pull him like that, but Clark played along, leaning - almost toppling onto Lois, until the tips of their noses were in contact.
“But only if you can keep a secret.”
or
Clark and Lois have been married for a while, but were looking for ways to spice up their sex lives. This was one of those experiments.

ppl hating on tynion here sorry but i think his comics are good
the problem with a lot of modern big 2 comics is that characters aren't treated like characters anymore. what i mean by this is there used to be a time when they were treated like people - we got to know them inside and out, the little quirks, what they do in their mundane lives, which was possible because the stories were more serialized. there wasn't this narrative that had to be done in 6 issues-ish so it could fit into a trade, it was just telling a story and on the ride we got to sit around with the people and see what they're like. now because everything is written for the trade and page space is so important we aren't allowed those little moments, the quiet stuff, and instead everything has to be for the plot. they're not 'people' anymore they're narrative tools that are bent in any way to fit the story trying to be told, rather than people with their own histories and mannerisms and behavioral patterns. we can connect with these characters sure, but we dont know them personally like we used to. we dont know what makes them tick like that, what makes them function - especially not know when characterization can wildly differ from one creative team to the other.
and it sucks.

sex isn't sexy unless it's a little bit gross. have you forgotten that you are a divine ape? plastic smooth skin, plucked hair, painted faces, scripted reactions, scrubbed til only the smell of perfumed soap remains, proportions that are conflictingly cookiecutter yet unattainable, none of this is even a little bit interesting.
you can laugh at napoleon's "home in three days, don't bathe" letter to his wife, but there's more sexuality in that one line then there is in the entirety of the hypersexualized but painfully unsexy internet.
