Do not weep for the temples are gone. Our faith was always a home one. Your home is your temple and you are its clergy. Your breath is your prayer. Your kind acts are your offerings. Your memory is your idol and your words are libation. You are enough in whatever you do. Grandiose was never our way. The glass of water left on the kitchen counter is equal to the lavish meal set out in their name. The Theoi love every little act, as long as it is meant with good intentions.

Went to Michaels today and found some useful and cheap items to use in witchcraft, devotions, or just crafting in general.
Tumblr media
Colored mason jars are great for spell jars or creating devotional items for your altar! I picked up a pink and a black for now!
Tumblr media
Colored twine for spells as well as any kind of crafting! I had already purchased pink and purple but I grabbed the green and the beige (which is pictured) since it was on sale! These are really versatile!
Tumblr media
TINY SKETCHBOOKS! 🥹❤️ These are great for the witch or pagan on the go! Sketch out plants you find in your area, craft sigils wherever the inspiration strikes you, jot down any ideas/thoughts/images you come across, make devotional art wherever you are, use it as a place to store your sigils or symbols the possibilities are endless!

to be honest, just let aphrodite in. just open yourself to her. pray naked, adore your body regardless of standards, dance whenever you feel the need to, laugh or cry without excuses or do both at the same time! allow you to love yourself and feel her inside.

My two newest witchy books :) I'm sure many of us feel like this year is a good time to focus on ourselves and our loved ones, and these books are helping me to do just that!
I use essential oils at home a lot anyway, even before I became a witch - I like to make my own candles, hand wash, and I'm starting to dabble in skincare. Amy Blackthorn's book is great for ideas on how to imbue your everyday household, skincare and beauty products with a little magick. As you might be able to see, I've been tagging my favourite pages so far! I recently used Blackthorn's 'recipe' for an anti-anxiety essential oil blend and adapted it to go in a liquid hand soap for my bathroom. The patchouli scent lingers for ages on the skin, it's wonderful ^_^
I'll do another post on Arin Murphy-Hiscock's books I think; I own a few of hers now, and they're all so warm and approachable. If you don't pick up any of her other books, pick up this one - especially if you're anything like me and you tend to get sucked in to a work-home-eat (sometimes)-sleep-repeat cycle where your brain is constantly *on*. Lots of great tips in here for taking a step back, gathering up all the threads of yourself you've let unravel, and getting yourself back to feeling calmer, more centred, more in control, and less of a hot mess.

Even when you can’t shrine, your Gods love you.
Even when it’s been months since you have done a ritual or rite in their name, your Gods love you.
Even when you aren’t at your best, your Gods love you.
Even when they’re disappointed in something you have done, your Gods love you.
Even when you turn your back to them, your Gods love you.
Your Gods won’t stop loving you for being human.

I’ve been supporting my mom and younger siblings since 2016 💜 I’ve always strived to put compassion and ethics above all else in my business!

Witchy tip: Cleansing with sage
I am not allowed to burn sage in my house because it’s not my house, I live with my grandmother. SO, as an alternative, I soak sage in moon water and spray my bed and furniture and everywhere else to cleanse the negativity out
🌱 💧 😊

Offerings aren’t nice tokens, and gods aren’t vending machines.
A lot of people have heard the metaphor with Nice Guys™️ and how they feel entitled to women’s time and bodies. “I’m not a vending machine you put nice tokens in until sex falls out.” It’s a really good metaphor and I think we can take pieces of it and apply it to Polytheist worship.
Occasionally I’ll see people talk about gods as if they’re tools. “Just give them some offerings and they’ll do whatever you want.” Their value only being measured by what they can do to ‘serve’ you, and once it’s no longer relevant that deity gets tossed aside or aggressively bashed. I find this to not just be disrespectful to these deities, but also to their followers. How dare someone try and reduce and ridicule what someone has dedicated themselves to honoring? (Not to mention the arrogance that comes with thinking someone can control a god, but that’s another barrel of worms.) We aren’t entitled to them and everything they are because we were nice.
Offerings aren’t payment for their hire. They’re not nice tokens you put in until miracles fall out. In my personal path, offerings exists as thanks; I’m paying them BACK for all the great stuff they already do whether I’m around or not. And if I want to ask for even more? I’ll offer to try and remind them they like me so that they may choose to help on their own. But I’d never want to fool myself into thinking they don’t have their own agency, or that they only exist as tools.

🕯🪵🌲Happy Yule!🌲🪵🕯
Tumblr media
Take the time today to be around friends and family today. Make something delicious (whether it be a comforting soup or some delicious cookies). Take in a deep breath of the frosty, winter air. Write down all of your blessings and everything you’re thankful for. It’s been another crazy year, but even in the midst of chaos there can be hope and joy. ❤️
