I’ve wanted to do this little experiment for a while where I create a simplified version of the lunar landing in After Effects using 2D rigs. The rigs were drawn in illustrator and rugged using the DUIK Bassel plugin. Just in time to celebrate the successful SpaceX launch today, I’ve got a new space animation! I wanted to do a couple experiments. Flown between 1965 and 1966, Gemini was essential to learning several procedures that would be necessary to get to the moon during the Apollo missions like rendezvous, docking and spacewalks. Last week I went back to Savannah for the SCAD career fair. While I was there, a couple representatives said they wanted to see more puppet animation.
