Today, the postmodern, beauty industry and media backlash against women's liberation have converged with transgenderism. Transgenderism takes the feminist critique of gender as a method of maintaining power relations between the sexes, and distorts it into an argument that biological sex in general, and females in particular, do not exist except as linguistic constructs and modes of social performance. This argument somehow gives men the right to claim this apparently non-existent, otherwise unreal femaleness, as their own identity or game to play. Ideologically, transgenderism is a prime example of a postmodern, patriarchal ideology that flourished as gender studies pillaged from women's studies departments before moving into mainstream media, pop culture and law.
Contrary to popular belief, transgenderism does not represent good intentions to "include" the marginalised, gone wrong. Nor is it strictly an academic invention. It represents what Lerner calls a "countermove," a set of old and fundamental patriarchal positions and gaslighting tactics elaborately and absurdly intensified Patriarchal power structures have always relied on myths of male motherhood to justify themselves—God, the creator of the universe, is generally assumed to be male; Adam bore Eve miraculously from his rib; Zeus delivered Athena from his head; Jesus was more the son of God, his father, than of Mary, who is idealised not for mothering the boy, but for surrendering to his father's will with the line, "do unto me according to thy word."
The mantra "transwomen are women" encapsulates all the traditional myths and behaviours of patriarchy—the violation and myths of male motherhood that justify it; the game playing, gaslighting and magician's tricks; the propaganda, dualistic privileging of mind over body, and the simultaneous sexualisation and stigmatisation of female and lesbian sexuality. It updates this package to suit the political economy and technology for our era—one that is secular and postmodern, while it reveres consumerism and Big Pharma. Transgender ideology borrows too much from religion to be considered original—it is patriarchal ideology in a concentrated, neoliberalised form.

• Rape Conviction-Rates
Out of 1'000 reported rapes, 975 perpetrators will walk free. A conviction rate of only 2.5%. 97.5% of all persecuted(!) rapists never see even a day in jail.
Rape is the most underreported violent crime - with estimated only around 30% (or even less) reported cases.
This puts the actual conviction rate for rape at around 0.7% and lower.

.... since the concept of 'gender' - without 'trans' wouldn't be a thing - is nothing but the policing and socially enforceing patriarchal hierarchy, TRAs ARE straight up MRAs. They are male-supremacists, through and through.
Tumblr media
I genuinely have no words. Trans activists showing their misogynoir runs deep. Trans activism isn't prevalent in black spaces but I hope this causes more black women to wake up

#patriarchy
Encoded into Law
Discrimination, oppression and exploitation of women and girls is still firmly encoded into law in countries all across the globe. These are just a few examples of many more:
• 113 countries do not have laws to ensure equal pay for equal work among men and women
• 104 countries make certain jobs off-limits for women
• 39 countries have laws that mean a daughter cannot inherit the same proportion of assets as a son
• 36 countries limit what wives can inherit from their husbands
• 29 countries restrict the hours women can work
• 18 countries allow men to prohibit their wives from working
• 17 countries limit when and how women can travel outside the home
Systemic oppression and exploitation of women and girls are still encoded into law worldwide - and with it also into culture and everyday social life, creating and upholding an androcratic hierarchic system - patriarchy.

Hey! I'm a teenage girl and I discovered rarical feminism not too long ago and I agree with almost all of its stances and views (being anti-prostitution, anti porn, end male-violence, etc.). I Want to learn more about it, what radical feminist books do you recommend for someone who is new to radical feminism?
Obviously, anything by Andrea Dworkin. Here’s some others I’ve heard great things about:

• The #1 Risk During Pregnancy - Homicide
Homicide is the leading cause of death for pregnant women in the US.
Women who are pregnant or who have recently given birth are more likely to be murdered than to die from obstetric causes; with their own male partners being the overwhelming majority of perpetrators.
For women in general, IPV (Intimate Partner Violence) is an acute and likely danger, with one in three women experiencing IPV in their lifetime.
Up to 75% women experiencing IPV before pregnancy will also suffer from abuse during pregnancy and postpartum.

..... all this is yet another reason - among hundreds and hundreds of others too - why the (further) supression and erasure of female material reality is so harmful, dangerous and straight up deadly.
Denying to acknowledge and honour lived female material reality is an extremely despicable misogynistic act; just as it is the cornerstone of male-supremacist authoritarian (sexual) colonialism - a.k.a. patriarchy - in which ever of its many forms or facets it may show itself.
Any ideology, philsophy, activism, or what have you, that builds on such is of the same root.

#medical misogyny
Misdiagnosed & Mistreated - Misogyny & Androcentrism in Medicine
Although it is a well established scientific fact that the female body acts and reacts medically often very different than the male body, these differences get widely ignored. This widespread misogyny and androcentrism in medicine frequently gets women misdiagnosed and mistreated, which often proves deadly.
Studies found that females presenting with a heart attack were more likely to die when a male doctor treated them, compared with a female doctor.
Women are also 50% more likely to get their heart attack misdiagnosed - for their (typical to females) symptoms get seen as atypical and often dismissed; based upon only male symptoms getting seen as typical and indicative.
Female patients are also less likely to be prescribed preventative treatment after an initial attack.
Women are half as likely as men to receive pain killers after surgery.
When getting surgery, women have a 32% higher risk of dying - when operated on by a male surgeon.
They also have to wait longer to receive pain management medication in emergency rooms as well as often simply getting sedated instead of recieving pain management. No such effect is seen in male patients.
Female patients generally have to wait for significantly longer timespans to get a diagnosis. Per example, it takes typically 2.5 more years for a woman to be diagnosed with cancer and 4.5 more years for a diabetes diagnosis compared with men. In total, women were found to get diagnosed much later in more than 700 diseases compared to men.

Perfectly put.
All they do is to cement the tools of oppression even more, as well as discrediting and robbing the actually oppressed class of their voice. And it is deliberately done. If you want to oppress and control a certain group of people in order to colonize and exploit them - which is what patriarchy and its social enforcement (a.k.a 'gender'), you try to bring these people in a state of maximal disconnect - disconnect of each other / isolation, so they can't organize; disconnect from their (real) history; disconnect from their own self and culture; disconnect from their own bodies and their lived experience.
'Femininity' is exactly that - a tool of oppression and control; designed to override and replace actual femaleness with a fake, inverted version which the oppressor desires and is useful to him, a tool to wipe out women's own, real sense of self, history, culture, language.
That is why the feminist slogan "the personal is political" was - and still is! - so on point and so important.
For even if there is (at all) a political 'left', it still is merely 'the left' of and inside the very same old system.
why do liberals think that femininity is oppressed and not female people 😐
