Heya, Tumblr, I’m back! So I watched the Same Old World promo a few nights ago and I realized just how much I missed Lapis. The relationship she has with Steven is absolutely precious. So today, I drew this! All pencil and printer paper. I used prismacolors for everything except Lapis’ skin, which was too light to use prismacolors, so I went with a standard crayola. I know I shouldn’t mix types like that, but what can you do? Overall, I’m really happy with this. Lapis turned out a tad darker than intended, but I’m not worried about it. If every porkchop were perfect, we wouldn’t have hotdogs, after all. The whole thing looks a lot better in person, but I think all art does.

So yeah… Another Ruby and Sapphire piece. I had to stylize Ruby because honestly, I cannot draw her. Ironic, huh? But yeah, I did this on my iPad, too. It took about 2 or 3 hours.

Something I’m still very, very proud of. This is an picture made (surprise, surprise) on my iPad. It took me a few hours to do. The character here is “Super Saiyan Steven”, a character I thought up as a mixture of Super Saiyan Goku and Steven Universe (eventually I came to explain it more as “what if the Gems were Saiyans instead of Gems?”). I know that explanation might not quite accurately follow how it would actually work as I’m not a follower of the Dragon Ball series. I just thought it’d be fun to smash these two together. SS Steven is also the closest I will ever get to making a gemsona.

Intro

So uh… Heya.

My name is Ruby-the-Rebel and I’m starting this blog as a sort of… “Journal” if you will for all my digital art. I’m young, and right now I’m pretty much a pure beginner. I don’t have a drawing tablet, just so you know. I use my iPad and phone instead (in conjunction with a cheap stylus or two).

What type of art will you see on this blog? Mainly Steven Universe stuff. The show is absolutely beautiful in more ways than one, and I’d encourage fans of Adventure Time to check it out (as it was created by former Adventure Time story boarder, Rebecca Sugar). Though I warn you: certain fans if this show can be really annoying/pretentious, and I understand if they discourage you from watching. Anyhoo, I’m also going to post Undertale things, as it’s another awesome thing out there (an RPG I’d reccomend to Mother fans).

I’ll be posting mostly digital art but there will be traditional stuff too. That’s about it, I think. I look forward to getting to know you all in the future!
