I’ve been so busy lately I haven’t had time to post. So much to read, papers to write, students to teach and test and paperwork to do. It’s been …. A tad overwhelming. 🙃🙃

Anyway, here we are, second semester in and that 4.0 is holding strong. First paper graded…. 15 pages and 20 out of 20 points. Woot! I’ll be Dr. SuperTeacherLady in no time!

Began really examining the trajectory of my career, and after 21 years in the classroom I think I’ve had enough. This has been the hardest year of my career, between personal trauma (lost my mom AND my dog this year), plus the secondary trauma from my students’ lives (there’s a lot more this year than ever before), starting school, leading the Equity committee (again even tho I didn’t want to), having an intern to mentor (we called it having a student teacher back in the day lol), and suddenly finding myself in a weird limbo of loving being a teacher but kinda sorta hating my job. It’s been…. Weird.

So this years “resolution” is to find myself a position either within the district but out of the classroom (one interview down, just waiting on The Call. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼) or a position within MSDE or I’ve even applied to be an adjunct and professor at the local universities. Fingers crossed.

If none of those pan out I think a change in scenery is in order, so I’ve been watching the internal vacancy list and holding my breath till the voluntary transfer window opens. 👀👀

And just 12 years left till retirement. 🙀🙀🙀

Back to work on Friday and Doctorate program begins on Friday. It's only Tuesday and I've been having the teacher nightmares for about a week..... I can do all the things!! And i will I guess.......

Just a few short weeks from now....

It begins! I start the Ed.D program in Special Ed..... I am anxious and excited and holy crap the summer is nearly over and I have to go back to work and school and there are so many meetings.... I'm tired tomorrow already! But I'm just a few short semesters from adding Dr. to the begining of my name. Put that in your pipe and smoke it, naysayers!
