people wanting the riverdale timeline to follow some logic so that things are accurate to their time period is like if people wanted an explanation for the magic in magic realism like girl thats not why we're here it is illogical because that's their style of storytelling and the story would not be the same if it had to answer to outside logic

Thanks for the ask! 🥰 A man takes his sadness down to the river is my current labor of love: an MCU post-Endgame Steve/Bucky fix-it series that I’ve been posting since February and working on for about a year before that. Stucky has a lot of the same appeal for me as Bughead did, back in the day: friends to lovers; two driven and complicated people carrying a lot of trauma and a lot of devotion, put in impossible situations; the double-edged sword of history; the question of what do you fight for when the fighting gets hard? How do you move past mistakes and disloyalty? What can we forgive each other? What can we forgive ourselves?

(And let’s not forget: showrunners and writers who willfully create nearly unfixable situations 😑)

As profoundly different as these two pieces of media are in form and genre, Riverdale and MCU are two canons that invite the delightful social fannish play of taking silly things seriously. There is so much to reconcile and so many blank places to fill in.

Fix-its are my favorite genre to work in. But I only like fix-its that don’t come easy: where the past is this staggering weight and old wounds leave scars. I love fix-its where people find a way to keep growing like the tender shoots of plants still stretching toward the light even in the ruins. But you need the ruins. The things we wrecked. I want the consequences just as much as the carrying on despite—with the parts that are hard to swallow not being glossed over, but persisting, too. If the past can be a saving ballast, it’s also a haunting ghost.

Maybe this is why I’ve always thought of myself as a gothic writer at heart: I love tracing out how the past keeps on erupting into the present and how what you thought you buried doesn’t stay in the ground.

i. detective comics! davina belongs to the zatara family in this universe, the daughter of giovanni himself. unlike zatanna, she wasn't raised by her father, as he had no idea her mother was pregnant by the time they ended things. she grew up under the tutelage of her mother, but eventually ran away at sixteen when she discovered her mother was planning to access her magic as her own ( due to her mother having lost her own magic ). she would eventually come to join young justice -- alongside tim, bart, kon, cassie and greta (at the time of joining). she continued on this team even when they joined the teen titans, at which point he met zatanna and developed a strained relationship with her sister. she actively keeps in touch with her young justice teammates to the best of her ability. after the team more-or-less disbands, she finds herself traveling to and from whoever needs her magical services.

ii. marvel universe! she's a mutant. specifically, a pyrokinetic. she has worked with, but has never been in an official capacity, an x-men. she was raised alongside remy lebeau, after she was taken in by jean-luc following her abandonment from her mother at the age of four in new orleans. following remy's exile, she remained in new orleans until she reached eighteen, at which point she left and never looked back. she one day wants to find remy, but in the mean time, has gotten herself in a few life-or-death situations along the way.

iii. charmed (original)! a witch. generally, around the age of the kids of the halliwells. not much is needed here. i just think she deserves it. has some demon ancestry.

iv. riverdale! this is just self indulgent and partially based on content. davina claire was born and raised in riverdale, on the north side. she lives a peaceful, boring life until the murder of jason blossom, her best friend's brother.
