Hi! I wanted to ask what is the name of the manga about Ares that you mentioned in the tags of the latest post about Ares being the least favourite son.
Sure do!! Before then tho, I believe there are a few things I need to warn you about first:
This manga does NOT have any English translation, legal or not.
(Afaik), this manga is still pay-locked. You'd have to buy it from Amazon to read it (in Japanese). I can provide you with the artist's preview tho.
This manga, whilst it doesn't feature too closely, includes Ares x Hades content - which is the artist's personal ship. PLEASE do not proceed if you are uncomfortable with the concept. The last thing I need is another Japanese artist to get harassed over their fictional taste.
If you're fine with all the above, the manga I mentioned is 落ちぶれゼウスと奴隷の子 (Fallen Zeus and the Slave Child) - by 尾羊 英 Ei Ohitsuji.
The story follows Zeus, whose soul was sealed in the body of a slave child after being unthroned by his children, on his journey to find out the truth/ reclaim the throne.
You can read it here (Pixiv Comic - part free, part locked), or buy the first volume here (Amazon.co.jp)
The part I talk about is mostly in chapter 7 (free atm). This is a part to give you a snippet of what you're getting yourself into:
(The blonde child if Apollo, the black-haired one is Ares. Zeus is the bright-haired adult. Zeus poured the nectar on the floor and tell Ares to lick it)
The manga above has Zeus as the protagonist. If you want to read more about Ares, you can try the mangaka's previous work, which focuses on Ares and his relationship with Hades: アレスくんとハーデス伯父さん (Aresu-kun to Hadesu-ojisan), which happens in the same universe afaik.
You can find it on the artist's Pixiv
Here's his character design (Along with Hades)
That's everything I guess. Please know that i myself don't have a clue about Japanese and everything above is just the crumbs I collected from translating tools and the only other blog who's aware of this series. 😭
The oak was the most revered tree of the Celts, with a tall, round, stout trunk that is thick and round, spreading out like a crown. They grew into huge, imposing trees and lived long lives, so they became objects of worship for the Celts, who wished to live forever.
Another reason for their worship was their high level of usefulness. It was used for housing and furniture. The round table around which the knights of King Arthur's Round Table were surrounded was made of one solid piece of oak wood. Merlin the Wizard used magic in the oak forests and his magic wand was made from the finest oak branch. The ancients also believed that with the help of acorns, they could come into contact with the gods who ruled the natural world.
The bark was used for tanning, dyes and medicinal purposes and had a wide range of uses. Oak wood was also used for coffins to hold the remains of the dead and was associated with the afterlife. Oak acorns were a favourite food of pigs in ancient times and helped in the mass rearing of pigs. Oak trees, as well as the mistletoe that inhabits them, were a factor in oak worship. Because it was believed to have fertility and reproductive benefits, a ceremony was held on the sixth day of every month in the lunar calendar to reap the mistletoe by the druids (Ref2).
The oak woodland was revered as a sanctuary by the Celts and was called Nemeton. Druidic rituals were held under the oak trees of this Nemeton. There is evidence of the presence of many Nemetons in continental Gallia (the ancient name for the ancient Celtic settlements).
The oak tree, imbued with energy, power and vitality, represents divinity in nature as a gateway to the inner world, a passage to the Kingdom of God, and communicates its divine will to us in the company of the gods.
Previously on Ch7! Liz, who received first mental damage from argument between Klaus and Al, received second mental damage from another theft which seemed to have occurred while observing them! Well isn't this getting more and more interesting?!
fuck that adorable shit
did Hiro write this subtitle??
this is just a mere what-if
these books belong to the House of Baroque
so the curse spell on these books and the bookshelf has a high chance of being a Baroque style
and the person who cast the spell will know how to destroy it or how to dispel it without taking any damage
aaand most of the House of Baroque's knowledge of curse magic is passed down from generation to generation
then… what if Cae is involved in this case in any way? of course I know this is just freaking nonsense though
or maybe… Cae won't be the only descendant of the Baroque. the culprit may be another member of the Baroque or someone with knowledge of it?
Just then, Al knelt down and picked up one of the chains.
there was a physical damage?
but this was a chain made of magic
beside Hiro said it became materialized by removing it, but how was it possible to cause physical damage to the state before removing it?
…would it be possible if the space itself was cut out
of course I don't think Hiro is the culprit
they never said that he was the only person capable of cutting the space, and I'm not even sure if the chain was cut through dimension rip in the first place
Anyway, Cae asked what the contents of those two books were.
now I think about it, there isn't much valuable information
and they lighten the mood with funny jokes like this as always
it'd be great if they just acted like this,,,
aha?
that girl mentioned in Ch7 that Klaus interrogated?
Well Klaus suggested to go to the Night Class, and everyone followed his words and headed to the Prefect's office there.
what is this all about
who should he send it to?
who… is that
I can't recognize it at all
it suddenly occurred to me when I saw him putting his legs up on the desk like that, but I really hope Zeus isn't the type of person who wears shoes on the bed
Anyway, in a tense atmosphere, Liz said she would make some tea and Al offered to help.
hey?
if you have a complaint, say it in rap
I can lend you a mic
Silence filled the room, and the tension made the air thick.
how hard did she shake her hand to spill the tea
is she the type of person who fills up the whole teacup or what
and Klaus shows seisai behavior out of nowhere
what… what.
well it's a little bit burdensome~… (^_^;;)
what… does it imply
he's giving his handkerchief to her…?
why…?
is there some inherent meaning in giving handkerchiefs
Well she gripped the handkerchief appreciatively in her hand and smiling like an lovesick idiot.
tell me about it
why is she smiling like that…
Just then, there was a knock on the door.
…?
prince, huh
feels like the original text was ゼウス様 (Zeus-sama) and they just paraphrased sama as prince
anyway what's this girl so excited about this nocturnal idiot,,, I don't get it at all
now you noticed the situation
I'm not interested in your fangirling so tell me why you stole the item already
well… it's obvious as hell though
