As Ayato stepped out of the Kamisato estate alone once more, his eyes drew to the grandeur of Inazuma's landscape. The lush forests stretched out before him, their leaves rustling in the wind like whispers of secrets. The rivers that flowed through the land sparkled like diamonds, reflecting the sunlight. Ayato couldn't help but feel a sense of freedom as he ventured out into the wild, like a butterfly breaking free from its cocoon.
During one of these escapades to the city, Ayato met you, the child of a relatively wealthy family. You were out on a walk with your family when you stumbled upon Ayato and his sister, Ayaka, exploring the city. You initiated a conversation, and before you knew it, you had become friends.
Together, the three of you spent your days exploring the natural wonders of Inazuma. You climbed towering cliffs that seemed to reach the sky, told stories of the gods and goddesses who watched over the land and wandered through verdant meadows filled with wildflowers.
Kamisato Ayato was a vision of grace and poise. As he walked, his lengthy, pale blue hair flowed behind him like a stream of moonlight. His eyes, a light purple, sparkled like amethysts in the daylight. His skin was as smooth and fair as porcelain, and a small mole under the left corner of his mouth added a hint of charming imperfection. He moved with a certain elegant ease, like a dance between the wind and the leaves. His smile was warm and inviting, like a ray of sunshine on a cold winter's day. He was the embodiment of beauty and nobility, and when he looked at you, it felt like everything around you melted away, leaving only the two of you in a world of your own.
As time passed, Ayato's responsibilities as the eldest son of the Kamisato Clan and future head of the Yashiro Commission began to weigh heavily on him. Despite this, he always found time to sneak out in the dead of night just to be with you. The regret of not being able to see you as much as he wanted led him to often find himself staring at the clock, counting the minutes until he could see you again. You became inseparable, and Ayato found solace in your company as you provided a much-needed getaway from the pressures of his future position.
But, when you reached your teenage years, you were forced to leave Inazuma to visit your family in other regions of Teyvat. You promised Ayato that you would return, but fate had other plans. News reached him that the ship you were on had been preyed on by a terrible storm and sunk in an unknown place, leaving Ayato devastated, believing that his childhood best friend had perished.

Years passed, and Ayato became the head of the Kamisato Clan and the Yashiro Commissioner, but he never forgot about you. He buried his feelings deep, knowing he could never be with you again. He threw himself into his duties, dedicating himself to the people of Inazuma and ensuring that the land remained prosperous and peaceful. But every night, before he closed his eyes, he would think of you and the memories you shared. The smell of wildflowers in the meadows, the sound of the river rushing by, and the warmth of the sun on your faces. These memories were like a balm to his soul, providing a moment of respite from his duties.
He would often find himself wandering the streets of Inazuma's city, lost in thought, taking in the sights and sounds of the city. The hustle and bustle of the marketplaces, the laughter of children playing in the streets, and the smell of fresh bread baking in the ovens. These were the same streets you had explored together as children, and they reminded him of the person he used to be, the person he was before the responsibilities of leading a clan consumed him.
But even as he dedicated himself to the people of his country, he never forgot about you. He searched for any information about the ship that had sunk, hoping against hope that you had somehow survived. He sent out search parties, but they all returned with nothing but disappointment. As the years passed, he came to accept that you were gone and that he would never see you again.
He built a life for himself, one filled with duty and responsibility, but there was always a part of him that was missing. A part that could never be filled by anything or anyone else. He knew that he would always carry a piece of you with him, and that piece would be a reminder of the love he had lost. But even though you were gone, you were still a part of him, and he would always hold you close to his heart.
He had tried to move on, but, like a seed that's trying to grow in rocky soil, he had never been able to let go of the memory of you. In the back of his mind, a voice constantly reminded him you were no longer by his side.
Every year, on the day of your birthday, Ayato would leave his duties as the head of the Kamisato Clan and the Yashiro Commissioner. He would make his way to the same areas and fields where you had once shared laughter and joy while feeling a profound ache in his chest. He would sit by the river, watching the water flow like his memories, remembering your happiness. He would visit the forest, where you had told each other stories of the gods and goddesses that protected the land. The tall trees seemed like a silent witness to the bond you had created, feeling the weight of your absence with each step he took. He always ended that day in the place where it all ended. His memory never let go of the exact words you spoke to him, the promise you had made to return as soon as you could so you could be with each other again, the garments you were wearing, how your beauty turned even the most beautiful star into a blur in the background. He would stand there, lost in memories, feeling the emptiness of your loss, holding on to the hope that you would return to him one day, but knowing deep down that it was unlikely.
Ayaka had watched her brother's heartbreak unfold every time since you were pronounced dead with everyone else inside the ship. She had seen the facade of perfection that Ayato constantly kept slipping away on that day, and there was nothing she could do but stand by and comfort him when it became too much for her to bear. Somehow, Ayato could never let go of you. Like a bird that had lost its wings, he felt lost, alone, and incomplete. He would often sit in silence, staring at the night sky, searching for the star that represented you, the one that would guide him back to you.
One day, an unexpected visitor came to the Kamisato Estate. The guards, used to the usual faces that frequented the estate, were taken aback by the appearance of a stranger at their doorstep. The person, who introduced themselves as [Name], was searching for the head of the Yashiro Commission with a sense of urgency in their voice as if the matters they had to discuss were of life and death importance.
The guard who stood at the door was skeptical of the stranger's claims, unsure of who they were and what business they had with the head of the Kamisato Clan. He couldn't shake off the uneasiness that crept up his spine as he asked Thoma to notify the Head of the Kamisato Clan of the visitor's arrival. The response he received was nothing short of a surprise, as the head of the Kamisato Clan wished to see this person immediately.
And so, as you walked through the gardens, memories of your childhood flooded back to you. They were still as lush and vibrant as you remembered, the flowers still as fragrant and beautiful as they had been all those years ago. Your heart ached with longing as you remembered all the days you had spent here, laughing and playing with the Kamisato siblings.
The closer you got to the door to Ayato's study, the more your nerves began to get a hold of you. Your hands were shaking, and your stomach was in knots. You took a deep breath, trying to steady yourself, but it was no use. You were about to see the person who had been your best friend, your confidant since childhood.
Thoma announced your arrival after the guard opened the door, and you stepped inside. The room was well-lit thanks to the orange hues of the afternoon sun. Ayato sat at his desk with his head bent over a stack of papers. He looked up as you entered, and for a moment, you thought you saw a flicker of recognition in his eyes as he stood up from his seat and walked to the middle of the room before stopping in his tracks. He then dismissed the guard and housekeeper and asked them to leave the room, leaving you alone with him.
As the heavy door closed behind you, the room was enveloped in the thick silence, as if the air was holding its breath. The light filtering through the window caught the dust particles in the air, making them dance like fireflies in the day's end's glow. The rich wood of Ayato's desk seemed to shine in the warm light, and the delicate irises on his windowsill seemed to come to life.
You couldn't take your eyes off of him. He stood tall, his eyes fixed on you, taking in every detail of your appearance. Your heart was pounding in your chest, and your mind was racing with everything you wanted to say to him, but as you looked at him, you realized that words were not enough. The emotions you had kept hidden for so long were threatening to spill over, and you couldn't shake the fear that he might not recognize you, that he might not remember you after all this time. But you recalled those light purple windows to his soul that still held the same warmth and kindness that you had fallen in love with so many years ago.
You couldn't help but notice the way his tailored attire seemed to hug his frame, accentuating the strength he had gained from years of sword practice. His every move was calculated and controlled, but you could see the emotions swirling beneath the surface.
As he gazed into your eyes, the longing and love he felt for you stirred within him like a tempestuous storm. His chest felt heavy, and his throat constricted with the weight of unsaid words. He wanted to pour out his heart to you, to express the depth of his love and the extent of his eagerness to touch you, but the words refused to come. Instead, he stood there, silent and motionless, lost in you, conveying everything he couldn't put into words with a single, yearning gaze.
He took a step toward you, and it felt like time slowed down. You could see the way his chest rose and fell with each breath, the way his hands twitched as if he was struggling to contain himself. And then, he was in front of you, and the world seemed to fade away.
He reached out and took your hand, intertwining your fingers together, and you felt the warmth of his touch spread through your body. The tears you had been holding back spilled down your cheeks, and you couldn't help but let out a soft sob. He pulled you into his arms and held you tightly, and you felt like you were finally home.
His scent, the sound of his heartbeat, the feel of his arms around you - it was all too much. You clung to him, tears streaming down your face. You could feel his cries dampening your hair.
As the two of you stood there, the world around you seemed to fade away. The elegant office of the Yashiro Commissioner, with its expensive furnishings and dΓ©cor, was nothing but a distant memory. The past and the future didn't matter at that moment, all that mattered was that the two of you were finally together again, and nothing would ever be able to tear you apart.
Ayato's grip on you tightened as he whispered your name, his voice choked with emotion.
The light filtered through the window, casting a soft, ethereal glow over the two of you as if the gods themselves were blessing your reunion. As the tears dried on both of your faces, you looked up at him, and he looked down at you. The love in his eyes was undeniable. You leaned in to kiss him and it was as if all that was left in the universe was you and the one you loved.
It was a kiss filled with all the yearning, passion, and pain that you had both kept storming inside for so many years, a kiss that sealed the promise of a lifetime together, a kiss that marked the start of a new chapter in your lives, one that was the answer to all the prayers and wishes you had ever made.
Slowly, you pulled away, taking another moment to stare at each other's faces as if you couldn't get enough of them. With tears glistening in his eyes, he reached out to touch your face, his fingers tracing the contours of your cheeks and jawline as if memorizing every inch of your front. His thumb brushed away a tear that had escaped down your cheek, and his eyes met yours in a gaze so intense it felt like it could set the world on fire. He held you like the most precious and delicate bird, "I never thought the day would come when I'd see you again. The thought of you never left my mind, even for a moment." he managed to choke out, his voice barely above a whisper.
As Ayato pulled you into another hug, the quiet room was bathed with the echoes of your breathing. The sound of his heart beating against his chest was a soothing lullaby, the rhythm steady and strong, a reminder that you were finally back in the safety of his arms. The familiar scent of his clothes enveloped you, a mixture of earthy spices and the brittle freshness of the outdoors, a comforting reminder of the past.
You began to tell Ayato your story, while he listened intently, taking in every word, every detail. His heart raced as you spoke of being swept away by the storm that had hit Inazuma all those years ago. He could feel the suffering and despair in your trembling voice, and it broke his heart to think of the struggles you faced.
With each word you spoke, the vivid memories of the storm that had hit Inazuma all those years ago came back to torment you, the trauma still fresh in your mind. You remembered the deafening roar of the winds as they battered the ship, the feeling of being lifted off your feet, and the cold envelop of the ocean as you were swept away. The next thing you knew, you were waking up on a distant shore, the waves lapping at your feet and the sand gritty between your toes. You were alone, and everyone else from the ship was nowhere to be found.
You described how you had stumbled upon a kind fisherman who had also taken your parents in. His small cottage was nestled on the edge of the beach, and the smell of saltwater and fish filled the air. He had been your savior, nursing you back to health with the help of his wife, who had provided you with a warm bed and a hot meal. He had even provided you with his boat, so you could journey to the closest place to your relatives.
You explained how you had heard the news that everyone had survived the shipwreck, but no one knew where they were or how to return home, scattered across multiple small islands in the middle of the ocean. The fisherman had helped you navigate the treacherous waters and eventually brought you to a nearby village, where you had sent word to your relatives about your survival. However, it seemed that the Kamisato estate had not received the news yet.
When you finished your story, tears streamed down his face as he muttered apologies, tears of sorrow for the pain you had endured, and tears of joy that you were back in his arms.
His head hung low with his expression filled with regret. The light coming from the windows cast shadows on his face, highlighting the lines of concern etched deep into his skin. He couldn't bring himself to look at you, consumed by the thought that he should have been there to protect you, to keep you safe from the storm that had taken you away.
You reached out, your hand gently lifting his chin until his eyes met yours again. "It's not your fault," you whispered, your voice soft and soothing. "You couldn't have known what would happen."
The warmth of your touch seemed to break through the shame that had consumed him, and he let out a deep sigh, the tension in his shoulders releasing. He looked at you, taking in the sight of you, so close and yet so far. It was as if he was seeing you for the first time, the memories of the past flooding back in an overwhelming wave. He closed the distance between you with one more kiss.
As Ayato's lips met yours, your fears seemed to vanish. The sun had just begun to set, casting a golden light over the Kamisato estate. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers, the gentle rustling of leaves in the breeze, and the distant chirping of crickets. At that moment, it was just the two of you, lost in each other's embrace.
His arms wrapped tightly around you, pulling you closer to him. You could feel his heart beating in sync with yours, and it was like the two of you had always been meant to be together. You ran your fingers through his hair, feeling the soft strands between them. You could feel the warmth of his breath on your face as he deepened the kiss, and you knew that you never wanted to let go.
The two of you stood there, lost in the moment, for what felt like an eternity. The kiss was filled with all the love, longing, and longing that had been building up for years. The love that had been there since the day you first met. You could feel the tears streaming down your face as you finally let go of the pain and sadness that had been a part of you for so long.
When the kiss came to an end, Ayato pulled back, looking into your eyes with tenderness. He whispered to you, his breath sending shivers down your skin "My heart has been yours since the day we met, [Name], and my love for you has only grown stronger over the years. I cannot bear the thought of being separated from you again."
You promised him that you would stay by his side for the rest of your life, and you meant it with every fiber of your being.
Tumblr media
Long after the moon rose, Ayato led you to a spot on the estate with a small pond surrounded by trees and bushes, and the water was so clear that you could see the fish swimming below. You sat down on the wooden deck, and Ayato sat beside you.
The two of you sat there for hours, talking and laughing, and it was as if no time had passed at all. He told you about everything that had happened while you were away, and you could see the dedication in his eyes to keep Inazuma even better than when you left.
As the night began to come to an end, Ayato turned to you and took your hand in his. He looked into your eyes and promised to love and protect you for the rest of his days. He swore that he would never let anything come between the two of you again and that he would spend the rest of his days making up for the time you had lost.

As you stood at the top of the stairs leading up to the Favonious Headquarters, the beauty of the golden sunset stretched across the sky before you took your breath away. The cool breeze that swept through the air carried with it the sweet scent of the flowers that bloomed all around Mondstadt. You couldn't help but be mesmerized by the sight as if the world was in perfect harmony.
You looked down at your hand, noticing the engagement ring that sparkled in the fading light. It was a symbol of your and Kaeya's love, the bond between you both that sealed your fate together. You remembered how it all began, how you had always seen Kaeya around the city as the Captain of the Cavalry, but you never thought you would find yourself falling for him. Once you started talking, you were captivated by his charm, his winning grin, and his smooth talking that made your heart race.
"Oh, my, what a surprise to find you here, dear," your thoughts were interrupted by Lisa, who had just left the knight's headquarters. She greeted you with a friendly smile as she approached you. "I was just about to come looking for you."
"I was looking for you too, Lisa. I needed to return these books to the library."
She was happy to hear that you had remembered to return the books on time, unlike others. She took the heavy books from your hands and handed you a folded note. "Kaeya asked me to give you this. He didn't tell me what it was about, but it seems urgent."
Curious, you opened the note and read Kaeya's words: "My love, I can't stop thinking about you. Can you come to my office? I need to see you."Β
As you clutched the note in your hand, your heart began to race at the thought of seeing him. The mere mention of his name conjured images of his wonderful love, which had captured your heart from the moment you first met. The golden sunset that painted the sky with hues of orange and pink seemed to mirror the butterflies that spread through your chest as you thought of him.
Lisa looked at you with a curious expression, though you couldn't help but be lost in your own thoughts. The books you had been holding before seemed like feathers in your hand, insignificant compared to the weight of this moment. Kaeya's words were a beacon calling you to him, drawing you closer to the promise of his presence. "Hehe, your reaction is quite amusing, it makes me curious about what it could possibly say." She looked away towards the golden sunset, smiling and letting out a sigh after a moment of thought. "Given Kaeya's talents, I can understand why a note from him would make your heart flutter. Whatever the matter is, you should attend to it, don't let me hold you back."
With a final cheerful chuckle, Lisa said goodbye and left you to your thoughts, and you couldn't help but feel grateful for her understanding. You couldn't shake the feeling that something important was about to happen. As you made your way toward Kaeya's office, the world around you seemed to fade into the background, and all you could focus on was the man who had captured your heart.
As you opened the door, the comforting golden light of the setting sun bathed the room in a celestial glow. The sunlight seemed to dance on the walls, reflecting off the papers and books on the desk, creating a beautiful, almost magical atmosphere. It was as if the universe had conspired to make this perfect moment for the two of you. Your graceful fiancΓ©, who had been sitting in his chair with his back turned to the window, rose to his feet and made his way towards you with open arms, a broad smile etched on his face.
You rushed towards him, eagerly falling into his embrace, relishing in the warmth of his hold. He pressed a kiss to the top of your head and ran his fingers through your hair in a soothing gesture. His touch was like a spark of lightning, illuminating every inch of your body with a sense of electricity, sending shivers down your spine and goosebumps rising on your skin. You couldn't help but let out a content sigh as you closed your eyes, immersing yourself in the sensation of being with the one you loved. The safety that you felt under his touch was something akin to a ray of sunlight shining on your face, reassuring, and grounding you. It was as though the two of you were connected by a current, flowing seamlessly together and completing one another in every way. Slowly, you tilted your head upwards, locking gazes with him.
The soft, loving expression in his uncovered eye, which only appeared when he was with you, shined like the stars in the night sky, mirroring the same emotions in yours.
"I've missed you so much," he murmured, as you let out a gentle laugh. This was not the first time he had called you to his office just to be near you, but you couldn't blame him, the time spent away from each other felt like an eternity.
There were times when Kaeya would suddenly call for you to come to him just because he missed your presence. You remembered one time when you had been working late at the library to help Lisa organize dozens of books, and Kaeya had waited for you until late hours of the night, insisting on walking you home so you wouldn't have to go alone.
There was another moment when you had been feeling under the weather, so Kaeya sent a knight to bring you to his office, where he had prepared hot tea and pastries, then sat with you, making sure you were comfortable.
As a flood of memories washed over you, you were struck by the overwhelming feeling of gratitude for having found your other half. Each moment came back to you in vivid detail, painting a picture of all the times Kaeya had summoned you to his office, not for any official business, but simply for the sake of being with you. The way he looked at you once he saw you, the warmth in his embrace, and the way he couldn't help but be physically affectionate with you, all of it cemented in your mind as evidence of the unbreakable bond the two of you shared.
"It's only been a few hours, Kaeya," you replied.
"Feels like an eternity without you," he agreed.
"I know," you whispered, resting your head on his chest, feeling his heartbeat accelerate with each passing moment, as you two were reunited once again. As you felt his arms envelop you, and his heart beat in perfect harmony with yours, the desert of your everlasting longing was replaced with lush greenery, an oasis of love, where time seemed to have no meaning.
You nestled deeper into his embrace, feeling the world around you melt away, leaving only the two of you. The gentle swaying of his body as he held you, the way his fingers threaded through your hair with the tenderness of a butterfly's touch, it all made you feel like the luckiest person in the world.
Unexpectedly, his arms left your embrace. Soon enough, his hands gracefully placed themselves on your upper arms, providing warmth to your entire body. His touch was gentle yet purposeful, leaving you wondering what was to come next. You stood still, letting yourself fully savor the sensation and anticipate his next move.
"I have something for you," Kaeya murmured before reaching for a small, square-shaped box on his desk. The box was a deep blue, adorned with intricate engravings and a golden clasp that sparkled in the fading light of the setting sun.
As you took it from him, feeling its weight in your hands, you couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement in your chest. "What is it?" As you ask, looking up at him with a surprised expression, almost asking him if it were okay to open the box only with your gaze. He asks you to open it, and, with bated breath, you opened the box to reveal a sparkling gemstone hairpin. It was intricately crafted in the shape of your favorite animal, and the crystal caught the light in such a way that it seemed to come alive. You couldn't help but be awestruck by its beauty.
"It's stunning," you managed to whisper, still in shock at the gift. "Where did you find it?"
Kaeya's eyes shone with pride as he explained, "I had it specially made for you. I even got to choose the type of crystal they used to carve it myself."
You couldn't believe the thought and care he had put into this gift for you or find the words to express your gratitude, but you knew that the hairpin was more than just a piece of jewelry. It was a symbol of his love, his devotion, and his thoughtfulness. It was something that you would treasure for a lifetime.
Kaeya reached for the ornament, lifting it out of the box with a delicate touch. He stared at it for a moment, admiring the intricate craftsmanship, the way the light caught the edges of the crystal and sent rainbows dancing across your face. He leaned in towards you, his hand coming up to gently tuck a strand of hair behind your ear.
He carefully placed it on the right side of your hair, securing it in place with ease. He stepped back to admire his handiwork, his eyes glistening with satisfaction and love as he took in the way the accessory sat perfectly on your head, complementing your features and making you look even more beautiful.
"It's perfect, just like you," he murmured, his hand coming up to caress your cheek. He couldn't help but let out a soft sigh of appreciation as he took in the sight of you, adorned with his gift. "I wanted to give you something that would always remind you of how much I care for you."Β
As his fingers brushed against your cheek, he couldn't resist the urge to trace the contours of your face with his thumb.
"You are so beautiful, [Name]," he whispered, his voice filled with reverence.
You couldn't help but feel a warmth spread through your chest. He leaned in closer, his gaze fixed on your lips, and you knew what was coming next. You closed your eyes and parted your lips in anticipation, feeling the rush of blood in your ears as your heart quickened its pace.
His lips met yours, soft and warm. As you felt the pressure of his mouth, you were overcome with a rush of passion, your arms wrapping around his neck as you pulled him closer. The kiss deepened, and you felt the world around you fade away as you were lost in the sensations of his touch.
His hands roamed down your back, pulling you flush against him, and you felt a heat building between you, and you knew that you never wanted this moment to end. As the kiss slowly came to an end, you opened your eyes, gazing into his, and you knew that this was where you belonged.
"I love you," he murmured, his breath hot against your skin.
"I love you too," you replied, feeling your heart swell with emotions.
He smiled and leaned in for another kiss.
Then, Kaeya gently took your hands in his. The way they enveloped yours, the strength of his grasp, it was as if he was claiming you as his own. You smiled up at him, feeling a sense of contentment wash over you as he returned the gesture, his lips curving upwards in a way that made your heart race.
"We should go."
"Yes, we should," you replied smiling at him.
As you passed by the corridor, you could see Lisa and Jean deep in conversation, but as soon as they caught sight of you and Kaeya's intertwined hands, Lisa's face broke out in a bright grin, and Jean gave you a knowing nod. They both bid you farewell as you continued on your way, the feeling of contentment settling in your heart as you were surrounded by the warmth the company of your love, and the well-wishes of your friends.
Together, you and Kaeya strolled down the cobblestone streets, the sound of laughter and chatter filling the air, leaving behind the world of responsibilities and obligations for a moment of pure, uninterrupted joy. The sun had already set, leaving behind a sky painted in blues and purples. The streets were bustling with people making their way home, or to their next destination, but all you could focus on was the sensation of Kaeya's hand in yours, leading you down the streets, toward the promise of a perfect evening.
When you finally arrived at the Angel's Share, the sound of laughter and conversation spilled out from the open door, along with the mouthwatering aroma of delicious food and wines. The friendly atmosphere enveloped you, making you feel like you were at home. You were greeted by everyone already inside, taking a seat at a table on the second floor. Kaeya led you to a table, pulling out a chair for you to sit on before taking his own seat.

When you and your fiance finished your meal and left the second floor of the tavern, you found yourselves making your way downstairs to the first floor, filled with the low murmur of patrons chatting and the clinking of glasses. There, you saw Rosaria and Diluc chatting, with Diluc behind the bar, mixing drinks. As soon as Diluc notices your arrival, he smiles and greets you, and Rosaria turns around, her eyes widen with surprise, "Oh, Kaeya and [Name], what a surprise. I haven't seen you in a while."
Diluc, who had been behind the bar, makes his way around and joins the conversation with a smile, " It's great to see you both. What can I get for you?"
Without hesitation, Kaeya pulls out a stool for you, and you take a seat, while he takes the one next to you. As soon as you are settled, Kaeya drapes an arm over your shoulders, pulling you close to him.
But as the night went on and the drinks kept flowing, you could tell that Kaeya was starting to lose his inhibitions. His movements became sloppy and his words slurred. You knew that it was time to take him home before things got out of hand. Rosaria, on the other hand, found this to be a laughable situation, while Diluc looked at him with concern and slight disappointment.
After saying goodbye to everyone left at the tavern, you took Kaeya by the arm and helped him to his feet. He leaned heavily against you, chuckling softly as you guided him out of the tavern. The cool air outside helped to clear your head from the haze of alcohol, but Kaeya had had a little too much to drink. He was clinging onto you tightly as if he couldn't bear to let you go for even a moment.
"Are you okay to walk?" you asked, looking up at him with concern. He nodded, grinning down at you. "I'm fine, just a little tipsy. But I couldn't be happier, my love."
You smiled back at him, taking his hand and leading him down the street. As you walked home together, Kaeya's arm was around your shoulders, his head leaning against yours.
As soon as you both entered the house, Kaeya turned to you, pulling you close to him and pressing his lips to yours in a deep and passionate kiss and whispered sweet nothings into your ear. With some effort, you managed to get Kaeya to bed and then climbed in next to him as he pulled you close and wrapped his arms tightly around you before he buried his face in your neck, breathing in the scent of your hair. Despite his drunken state, his touch was feather-light. You smiled, happy to be in his arms, and closed your eyes, drifting off to sleep with the sound of his breathing as your lullaby.

CW: Neglect
They were shamed for taking up time and resources and made to feel like they should've been a better child, less sensitive and more passive. I'd like something with Kaeya; where the dam just breaks and you spill everything to him. Please and thank you :)

As a child, you were fascinated by the stories of daring adventurers who journeyed to distant lands and overcame incredible odds. These tales always ended with the hero returning to their loving family, their bond unbreakable, and their love unyielding. Family was everything in these tales, a source of support and comfort in the face of any challenge. You read about mothers who worried for their children, and fathers who believed in them, no matter what.
As the years passed and you still sat curled up with a book in hand, devouring the tales of great travelers and their caring familiars, a sense of longing and envy crept into your heart. You couldn't help but wonder if these relationships depicted in the pages were nothing more than figments of someone's imagination, a fanciful construct of a better life, something unattainable. But as you ventured out into the world, meeting new people and experiencing their familial dynamics firsthand, you began to realize that your own family was the exception, not the norm.
You observed the easy banter and affection between parents and their children, the tender messages left for a child who had brought home a less-than-perfect report card. You listened in on whispered conversations between siblings and caught glimpses of the unbreakable bonds that held families together. It was then that you came to realize that the relationships you had always read about in those stories were not imaginary, but rather a reflection of the love and connection that existed in the world around you. Your own family, in contrast, was a mere shadow of what a true family should have been, something that felt like a figment of your imagination, a distant dream.
The constant barrage of criticism and belittlement from your parents was like a relentless hammer, chipping away at your self-worth. Each word felt like a blow to your soul, leaving you feeling small and insignificant, while their weight was suffocating, making it hard to breathe. You felt trapped in a never-ending cycle of self-doubt and insecurity.
You couldn't bring yourself to confide in anyone about the way you were being treated, the walls had ears and mouths that spread every bit of details they could gather. The fear of being misunderstood and alone was too great, so you kept your pain locked away deep inside, where it festered and grew. You felt like a bird with clipped wings, unable to fly, unable to escape the cage of your mind.
There was a dark cloud that followed you wherever you went, casting a shadow over everything you did. But through all the darkness, you clung to the hope that one day, the storm would pass, and the sun would shine again.
You felt trapped and alone in your own home, the walls seemed to be closing in on you, and the weight of your family's expectations was suffocating. You couldn't wait to leave and explore the world, to escape the terrible atmosphere and start anew. And so, you did. You set out on your journey, leaving behind the past and all the misery.
With the weight of your past weighing heavily on your shoulders, you set out to escape the drowning environment of your childhood home, just like the great adventurers in the stories you had always treasured. You yearned to explore the skies and other worlds, to become a renowned traveler, leaving behind the pain of your past and starting anew. But as you soon discovered, life is never that simple.
You found yourself stranded in Teyvat, unsure of how to leave this strange and unfamiliar land. But despite the uncertainty, you couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder and curiosity about this new place. The world of Teyvat was unlike anything you had ever seen before. The sky was painted with vibrant hues of pink and orange when you first arrived, and the landscape was dotted with towering mountains and cascading waterfalls.
As you explored this new land, you came across many fascinating and diverse people, each one changing your perspective on life in their unique way. Among them was Kaeya, a friend and companion who helped you with anything you needed. He was a shining light in the darkness, a shimmer of hope amid uncertainty.
Despite the challenges you faced, you felt excited every time you were with him. With each new day, you felt your soul come alive, and you knew that this was where you were meant to be. This was your chance to start anew, to leave behind the pain of your past, and embrace the possibilities of the future.
As your friendship with Kaeya deepened, you found yourself spending more and more time in each other's company. Whether it was in his cozy office, his warm and welcoming home, or on strolls through the city, you relished every moment you spent together.
It was also during this time that you grew closer to Diluc, who seemed to genuinely enjoy your company as much as everyone else did. He would often invite you to his magnificent manor for sumptuous meals or tasteful lunches, where the Ragnvindr family would come together in a celebration of life and the bonds that united them, even if they were not related by blood. The grand architecture, luxurious furnishings, and lively conversation that filled the mansion made you feel like you were a part of something special. The atmosphere was always of companionship, where any previous differences were left aside and everyone was united in celebration of the time they had together.
The invitation to dine with the esteemed Ragnvindr family filled you with enthusiasm. The prospect of spending time with the kind and welcoming people of Mondstat was a delight that you eagerly anticipated every day. Your companion, Paimon, shared in your eagerness; her spirit and appetite lifted at the mere thought of a meal shared in good company.
As you arrived at the grand manor, your eyes were immediately drawn to the stunning architecture and landscaping. The towering columns and intricate carvings on the exterior were like nothing you had ever seen before. The gardens were a symphony of color and aroma, with a riot of vines that seemed to go on forever.
Paimon, your ever-present companion, let out a joyful chirp as you walked through the front doors and into the grand foyer. The wooden floors glimmered in the soft light, and the chandelier cast a warm glow on the faces of the Ragnvindr family and their housemaids.
You couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement in your stomach as you followed your hosts to the dining room. The table was set with the finest dinnerware, and the smell of delicious food wafted through the air. You could feel your mouth watering as you walked, and Paimon settled in the kitchen.
Your eyes were constantly scanning for any signs of struggle among the bustling staff. You had been taught to be attentive to the needs of others, and you took that lesson to heart as you offered a helping hand to anyone who seemed overwhelmed by their duties. The working maids had grown accustomed to your presence, often mistaking your willingness to assist as a desire to take on more work than necessary. They would often attempt to distract you, some by giving you their company and some conversation as you sipped on steaming cups of tea or strolled through the lush vineyard alongside one of the Ragnvindr brothers. Whether it was cooking, cleaning, or sewing, you possessed a versatile set of skills honed by your tireless pursuit of perfection.
You immediately offered to assist Adelinde in the kitchen, but she graciously declined, explaining that everything was nearly prepared and that you should take some time to rest after a long day of commissions and errands.
As you persist to aid the head housemaid, you felt a hand on your shoulder from someone behind you. Turning around, you saw the black fingerless glove with a sharp golden star on the back, and you immediately knew who it belonged to.
"My, my, it seems you're always on the go. Don't you think it's about time for a break?" Kaeya said, his voice filled with amusement as he jokingly scolded your constant offers to help. He placed both hands on your shoulders and continued, "How about a leisurely tour of the manor with me? I'm certain there are still some corners you haven't seen yet."
Unable to resist his charm, you accepted his proposal for a walk around Diluc's grand mansion. Adelinde bowed her head before walking away to continue her work, leaving you alone as you began to make your way to the second floor.
The grand staircase was like a pathway to a fairytale, the wood was polished to a shine, and the banister was carved with elaborate designs. The chandelier that hung above was like a crown of light, casting a sparkling glow on the wooden floor below.
You felt a sense of awe and wonder at the beauty that surrounded you as you walked through the grandiose wooden manor. The intricate details of each piece of furniture and the brushstrokes of the artists on the paintings were like a symphony for your eyes. The light that filtered through the windows danced on the surfaces, casting a warm and inviting glow throughout the halls, it was like walking through an art gallery. Kaeya, feeling a sense of pride and nostalgia, suggested showing you his childhood room, and you eagerly accepted, wanting to learn more about Kaeya's past.
On the way to his old chamber, you came across a painting of Diluc, his father, and a younger Kaeya, all looking very joyful. Kaeya couldn't help but smile as he looked at it, the memories returning. "Ah, Crepus. He was truly one of a kind," he said, his voice filled with admiration. "He was taken from us far too soon, but I'll always remember him as the kind, loving man that he was."
You inquired him about his adopted father as he smiled fondly, "He was the best," he said. "He saved me from a raging storm when I was just a kid and adopted me as his own; I have fond memories of our walks around Mondstat, playing in the vineyard and pretending the destroyed vines were some sort of mystery. I recall thinking he would be furious when he found out, but he just brushed it off; they were just vines, after all." The smile in his mouth grew as his cheeks perked up and moved the smile to his eye. "I'll always cherish the time we had together. Well, I'm sure you already know everything else."
The painting was like a window into the past, you could almost see the young Cavalry Captain running through the vineyard, laughing and playing with his sworn brother. The colors were so vivid and the brushstrokes so full of life, it was like they were still there, frozen in time.
However, as Kaeya spoke of the Delusion tragedy, the atmosphere around you seemed to shift. The light that had been illuminating the grandiose rustic wooden manor seemed to dim, and the air grew heavy with sorrow. You couldn't help but wonder what it must have been like for Kaeya, to lose the only family he had ever known so well. The significance of his loss was noticeable in the way he kept his eyes fixed on the painting of his childhood.
You felt a deep empathy for him, as the indication of gloom in his voice and the way he looked at the painting revealed the depth of emotion he held for Crepus. "I do hope that you reunite with your family soon," he said, his voice filled with genuine concern. "I can only imagine the worry and longing they must be feeling."
The mention of your family brought a wave of memories flooding back, memories of a past where you were forced to call them "family" just because you shared the same blood. They were the ones that had always put you down, and every achievement you had made was nothing but a failure that needed to be improved until nothing was amiss. You questioned yourself, what kind of child is perfect? What was it about you that made it a necessity to never bother, cry, feel, break, or make a mistake? You were not born from perfect beings, they had more imperfections than anyone you had met on your travels.
If even an adopted father like Crepus, who had saved Kaeya from a raging storm when he was just a kid, could understand the mistakes of his adopted son, then why couldn't your family understand that you were never perfect, and should be treated as such? How different your life would have been had you not always stayed cautious to be the most perfect being you could ever be. The childhood that passed was now nothing more than a distant memory, foggy and blank. Most of what you remembered was being scolded for mindless reasons, the constant pressure to be flawless, and the never-ending cycle of self-doubt and insecurity. But as you stood there, lost in a trance-like state, with tears streaming down your face from all the screams of the past, a faint and drowned-out voice began to pull you out of the darkness, inviting you to come back to the present, to come back to a place of safety and security. It was a voice that invited you to come back to the present, to come back to a safe place.
As the memories of mistreatment and abuse bled off of your mind, the voice grew louder and louder until it was clear to you that it was the Cavalry Captain calling out to you. His melodic tone embraced you and warmed you up, like a ray of sunshine breaking through the dark clouds of the coldest winter.
The sight of his face filled with concern as he reached out and gently wiped away your tears. You looked up at him and your insecurities returned and you were once again consumed with fear. You couldn't shake off the feeling that Kaeya would react the same way as your family had, that he would judge you and make you feel small. You were led to believe that the things thrown at you were true, that it shouldn't be hurtful if you were strong enough, so why did you dare to cry now?
Kaeya gazed upon your face, carved with pain and suffering, feeling a deep ache in his heart that struck him like an arrow. He longed to take you in his arms and shield you from the misery that seemed to cling to you like a shadow. But he didn't know how. His eyes, deep and endless like a vast ocean, held wisdom and knowledge that you couldn't quite comprehend. They were a stark contrast to the cold and uncaring eyes of your family, who had never truly seen you for who you were.
"I'm sorry," you forced a smile, wiping away the tears that threatened to fall. "This was an accident, I promise. I didn't mean to start crying." But you couldn't bring yourself to look at him, afraid of what you might see. Yet even in your fear, there was a glimmer of hope. His eyes seemed to hold the promise of something better, a life where you could be yourself without fear of judgment or rejection.
Kaeya could see through the facade you had built to protect yourself. He knew that something deeper was troubling you, that you were holding onto misery you had kept locked away for far too long. Without hesitation, he reached out to you.
"[Name], did I say something I shouldn't have?" His voice was gentle and soothing, like a warm blanket on a cold winter's night. Yet his face was tense, revealing the depth of his uneasiness.
You tried to shake your head and deny it, but your eyes betrayed you. The way your heart was pounding in your chest reminded you of times when you were running for your life from threats bigger than you, trying to escape harm. He reached out with a steady hand, his fingers long and elegant like the strokes of a master painter. As he gently grasped your hand, you felt the warmth of his touch spread through your body like wildfire. Your stomach fluttered with the sensation of a thousand butterflies taking flight, their wings beating in harmony with the throb of your heart. The sensation was electric, sending shivers down your spine.
"Please, [Name], tell me what's wrong," he implored, his voice laced with genuine worry. "I can't bear to see you cry. It's killing me to see you hurting like this." The words tumbled out of his mouth, like a waterfall cascading over jagged rocks. His eyes, like pools of molten gold, brimmed with anxiety, reflecting the deepness of his emotions. His hands reached out to clean your tears, pleading as if to grasp hold of your troubles and bear them as his own. The creases on his forehead deepened as he struggled to find the right words, his voice cracking with the weight of his worry. Each syllable was imbued with a sense of urgency as if the fate of the world rested on your response. At that moment, you knew that you could trust him with your troubles, that he would be there to support you, no matter what.
You took a deep breath, inhaling the crisp, fresh air that filled the manor. It was a moment of contemplation, a moment of gathering courage before you ventured into the unknown. As you exhaled, you felt the weight of your past, like a heavy stone in your chest, begin to lift. You looked into Kaeya's eyes, profound like the sea, and felt a sense of safety and understanding.
You gazed into Kaeya's eyes and felt your breath hitch in your throat. The blue depths seemed to swirl and churn like a tempestuous ocean. Your forced smile wavered as if it were a flickering candle in the wind, and you knew that once you opened up, there would be no going back.
With a deep inhale, you steeled yourself for the emotional downpour that was about to come. It was like a dam that had been holding back a flood of memories and feelings, and you knew that once it broke, there would be no stopping the rush of emotions that would come pouring out. The tears started to well up in your eyes, and you could feel the sobs that wracked your body, like a violent storm that shook you to your core. "It's just that my family has never been like that. Not at all," you began, your voice barely above a whisper. The words were tight and strained as if they were being forced out of you. "It's so unfair that the ones who support you the most fade away so quickly, but those who keep dragging you down live on like life never planned for their end."
The cracks in your voice, the quiet tone, the distress you were trying to hide, everything was like a needle that hit him before he could react as you kept on opening up. "It always felt like everyone had chances to fail or make a mistake, but if I didn't stay quiet and pretty at the top, then there was no use for me. I can hear their voices every day in the back of my mind reminding me of what I should have been. Sometimes it even sounds like they're right behind me, but there's nothing there." Your words came out slower with every sound you made. Speaking was becoming harder, and so was breathing.
Kaeya's heart ached for you, and he reached out to pull you into a comforting but tight embrace. You did your best to stop your cries. You apologized, over and over again, to him, to your relatives, to yourself. Whatever you had done wrong, you could do nothing but ask for forgiveness.
"It's okay," he whispered, his hands moving in a gentle, circular motion on your back. Each pass felt soothing, easing the tension that had built up in your muscles. The warmth of his touch radiated through you, threatening the shadow of the dark cloud that followed you around. "You are not responsible for the way they treated you. It's not fair that you've been made to feel this way… You are so much more than that to me, to everyone." The calm, steady tone of his voice lit up your world. "I'll always be here for you, [Name]." He held you close, and you felt yourself slowly begin to relax.
Tears cascaded down your cheeks like a waterfall, the importance of repressed emotions finally being released. You felt your body convulse with sobs as Kaeya wrapped his strong arms around you, holding you close like a safe haven. His whispers were like a lullaby, soothing and calming as he whispered words of comfort. You felt yourself melt into his embrace, finally feeling safe enough to let go and truly cry aloud.
The gentle touch of his hand as he played with your hair was like a soft breeze on a warm summer day. It was a touch that was filled with love and tenderness, one that made you feel safe and secure. The way his fingers gently ran through your locks, sending shivers down your spine, was a reminder of how much he cared for you.
As you lay in his arms, the soft kisses he placed on your forehead were like a whispered promise of forever. Each kiss was a reminder of the love he had for you, and the deep connection you shared. His lips were warm and soft, and they left a trail of love and warmth on your skin.
The way he held you close made you feel like you were finally where you belonged. He was the one person you knew you could always turn to.
The emotions that ran through your body as he held you close and whispered sweet nothings in your ear were indescribable. You felt a sense of completeness like you had finally found the missing piece of your puzzle.
As the tears subsided, and your breathing returned to normal, Kaeya carefully lifted you from the ground and into his arms, opening the door to his old bedroom to sit on an old armchair where he rested, placing you on his lap.
As you entered his childhood room, it was like stepping into a time capsule. The furniture was old but well-maintained, and the room was filled with trinkets and keepsakes that held a special meaning to him. The bed was like a cocoon, inviting and warm, and you couldn't help but feel a sense of protection.
The room was like a sanctuary, a place where he could escape the outside world and be surrounded by the memories of an easier time. It was like a light that followed him, a beacon of hope amidst the darkness of his past. It was a reminder that no matter where life took him, he would always have a place to call home.
The pressure of the world had finally lifted off your shoulders. You nestled into him, feeling the tension and turmoil of the day dissipate like the smoke from a dying fire. The softness of the blanket he covered you with shielded you from the harsh realities of the world. The steady rhythm of his heartbeat, like a soothing lullaby, coaxed you into a state of peaceful slumber.
The darkness of the room was broken only by the soft glow of the embers in the fireplace from the first floor. The crackling of the firewood added to the serenity of the moment, and the sounds of the Ragnvindr household faded away as you drifted to sleep.
Tumblr media
An hour passed, and it was finally time for dinner. The gentle touch of Kaeya's hand on your shoulder stirred you from your slumber, bringing you back to reality. As you blinked away the grogginess of sleep, you momentarily felt disoriented and uncertain, unsure of your surroundings. But the familiar warmth of Kaeya's presence and the soft smile on his face reassured you that all was well. "Did you manage to get some rest?" he asked, and you nodded, feeling a flutter of gratitude for his understanding and care. "Well then, let's not waste any more time," he said, offering you his hand and helping you to your feet. "Come on, dinner's ready."
An hour passed, and it was finally time for dinner. The gentle touch of Kaeya's hand on your shoulder stirred you from your slumber, bringing you back to reality. You blinked away the grogginess of sleep, the world around you was a blur as your eyes struggled to adjust to the light, and for a moment, you felt disoriented and uncertain of your surroundings. But as you focused on Kaeya's face, you were immediately reassured by the warm smile that graced his lips.
"Did you manage to get some rest?" he asked, and you found yourself nodding, unable to put into words the depth of gratitude you felt towards him. He knew exactly what you needed, and had given it to you without hesitation. "Well then, let's not waste any more time," he said, offering you his hand and helping you to your feet. As the meal progressed, you found yourself caught up in the lively conversation and laughter of your hosts. The Ragnvindr brothers regaled you with tales of their adventures, and you felt a true sense of belonging that you had never known before. The laughter and tales shared over dinner made you realize that this was what a real family felt like.
When the meal came to a close, you couldn't help but feel grateful for the warmth and hospitality of the Ragnvindr family. You knew that no matter where your travels took you, you would always have a home in Mondstat. And, as you bid your hosts farewell and made your way back to your lodgings, you felt a sense of satisfaction as you thought about the moment you had shared with one of your most beloved companions.
