My formula of restore fatigue:

Spring salad: lettuce, radish, potato, (optional: apple, orange, watermelon). Unfortunately it has Burden side effect. (if choose orange, you'll get a bonus Shield effect) Can also side with Ranch dressing: cheese wedge, leek, onion, garlic. And this one has Damage Agility side effect. It can be fix by removing the garlic.

Potato soup: potato, garlic, leek. This recipe has Frost Shield side effect. Perfect choice for a cold weather.

Corn salsa: corn, tomato, onion, garlic. Unfortunately it has Damage Agility side effect, but you can get Detect Life in the process.

Grilled cheese sandwich: bread loaf, cheese wedge, cheese wheel. Unfortunately it has Damage Agility side effect. I should have removed the cheese wedge. Sorry Baurus :(

Classic ham sandwich: bread loaf, cheese wedge, ham, lettuce. Unfortunately this recipe also has Damage Agility side effect, but bonus Fire Shield woohoo!

Gyudon: beef, onion, rice

Mix berries: blackberry, strawberry, (we only have two kinds of berries?) (optional: apple, orange, pear). Actually, don't put apple or pear in it. They will cause Damage Health.

Crabby corn soup: crab, corn, onion. You can add cheese wedge for bonus Fire Shield (and Damage Agility) effect.

Chili con carne: beef (/boar meat /mutton /venison), onion, garlic, tomato. Side effect is Detect Life. (Beef flavor will grant you Shield effect. Unfortunately Boar meat will have burden side effect and Venison is Damage Health)

Pumpkin pie: pumpkin, sweetcake (/flour /sweetroll). Unfortunately both flour and sweetroll has Damage Personality side effect

Carrot cake: carrot, sweet cakes

Strawberry cheesecake: strawberry, cheese wedge, flour (/sweetcake /sweetroll). The flour version has Reflect Damage side effect. I highly recommend it.

I wonder how old Willy‚ and by extension, the rest of the first-gen crest bearers were cause Jerry is (iirc) over 300 years old according to Nopes (and his Barney support showed he had physical problems). Iirc Willy stepped back after WoH but there's no mention of when he died‚ like do fake their deaths cause they would be outliving multiple generations. Do they travel out of the continent? Do their children also have long lifespans? (Assuming that they survived the WoH.)

Jerry growing old and feeble is really one of the things Nopes annoyed me with, because come on, Rhea could just have waited for Nemesis to become unable to fight to rekt him... but no, Nemesis was still a force to be reckoned with.

We don't have any timeline, but Nemesis should have been well over 100 just like the Elites at the time of their death, and I guess Willy was, at the end of the WoH, something like around 120 or 150 (Rhea most likely didn't made him emperor when he was a kid!).

IIRC the Book of Seiros says only the Elites (thus by extension the first gen crested people) live long, not their children - we know the Elites sans Maurice were terminated, but we don't know about the other major crested randoms (Bergliez/Aegir ancestor, Varley 1, etc etc).

I don't see them faking their deaths even if they outlive several generations because, hey, Willy's the living example of someone who lived over 100, just like the Elites, and I guess the "reasoning" behind the Elites' extended lifespan also applied to them? (something like first gen crest bearers were "blessed specially" by the Goddess so they have an extended lifespan ?) contrary to Nabateans who do not seem to age as fast as crested humans, and live up to 1k years.

Maybe they travel around the continent or just remained in Fodlan being either cryptids or travelling around to help randoms (like the Apostles who ultimately founded their own villages?) and died somewhere.

I'm rather fond of the HC that First Gen crest bearers, just like Nabateans, don't decay or decay more "slowly" than other humans, they still can't be harvested for Relics or whatnot, but it serves to make them stand apart from the other crestless humans - which of course would have been used by Adrestian Nobles, especially the ones who descend from them, to brag about how "special" they were (and conveniently, the bodies of the Elites were never recovered*, so they are the only ones who can prove their descent from someone "special"!).

*tfw Thales had already recovered them first then put them in his freezer before Rhea or the Elite's descendants could even wonder why their tombs/graves/resting places were empty

I feel like a problem with many alicent stans is that they have issue accepting that they can love her as a character while also accepting her flaws and issues. Like loving Catelyn while also agnowledging her abusive attitude towards Jon, or loving Cersei while agnowledging she's an immoral person.

I don't particularly care for her or Rhaenyra but Alicent stans in particular seem to have trouble making pro alicent content that also acknowledges her shortcomings without outright just defending them.

This is definitely a problem with them, and it seems to be an issue with how people in the asoiaf/hotd fandom want to engage with the material. People have turned liking a character into a moral superiority contest and that's how we get "disliking [x] character is misogynistic" takes. That's why they scramble to erase any flaw from their fave and justify their actions. It's so ridiculous because liking a character is literally just about being interested in how they're written, that's it. It's not a bad thing for a character to have flaws because that means they're well-written and complex. If you're doing everything in your power to erase and justify those flaws then chances are you don't actually like them. On the flip side, that means sometimes people aren't going to like characters and that doesn't mean anything.

As for Alicent, it's very obvious that she believes in the patriarchy and that's what her motivations stem from. Her fans have just deluded themselves into thinking that she's the "feminist option" and nothing but a perpetually helpless victim with no agency. They're so angry cause those comments are coming directly from the author and the actress they (claim to) love. To be fair, the showrunners try and depict Alicent as such BUT since they're pulling from the source material she can't consistently be that. Even within their adaption, Alicent has flaws and has made questionable decisions. There's a way to defend her from hate without completely sanitizing her character, but her supposed stans also hate that she has flaws. George just likes writing his characters as grey and complex which is a good thing from a story-telling perspective. I wish people would acknowledge that and free themselves of the need to justify the actions of their favorite characters.

I know I've made like.. this exact post like four other times but it's gunna keep coming back up until I Figure It Out so.. I have been on and off thinking about the actually solid Idea I had for remaking FaHI as an Original text (along side or after FaHI Proper is written) And I think where I've ended up with it is pretty good! It captures a lot of the same themes and the bones of the thing and I like it! And Yet........ I don't think it is possible to 1 to 1 translate FaHI, it will always Loose Things, very very important things that will always make it a Completely Different Story. The same heart around the same ideas, in the broadest sense, but as soon as you take it out of exactly Where and What It Is it becomes something completely different.. Like you can't hit Any of the same story beats in the same way.. The structure of the environment is different so the way everyone interacts changes and thus shifts every important interpersonal moment.. the situation with the mold and the magic changes and changes the characters themselves in inherent ways that change how they interact with the world and each other but I have to change these things else it will be Very Obvious What This Was.. not a revolutionary concept by any means but I'm not entirely sure what to do with it.... FaHI; the fanwork is a story I Very much love and want to share as the fanwork that it is but there's a lot about FaHI that I love and Wish dearly I could share in a professional or personal context and I simply can't as much because of it's limitations as a fanwork... and I want to split the difference but ooo it always feels like I'm loosing so much.. GRAH!!
