Nudging the door closed with one hand, you hop on your foot to tear off one of your pink wedge shoes as you wobble into the hall. Manicured toes stretch out in relief and you toss the dainty deathtraps into the corner under the boots on the shoe rack. It’s late and you mustn’t keep him waiting.

Running through your bedroom to the bathroom, you start the shower, heating the water before throwing off your clothes. The materials combine midair in a whirlwind of colours. Scrubbing your face with your toothbrush held by your teeth, you jump under the water. It’s late. He doesn't like to wait.

The water is bliss after a long day at the office and you want to linger but you know it would be unwise. Toweling off the flecks of water sprinkled across your skin, you turn to the mirror and swipe at the small amount of residue starting to build at the edges. You glance at the oversized black and white clock that is also fogging up from the steam. It clicks, clicks, clicks. You moisturise your body in a frenzy then dig into the drawer with your lipsticks with haste. It’s late and you know he likes you pretty.

Slipping into the emerald green silk dressing gown, the one he ordered for you online, you run back to the shoe rack. Well, fuck. They’re not there. He asked you to wear them tonight. They must be here somewhere. It’s late and you don’t have time to waste.

Running back to your bedroom you see them sitting on the vanity where you left them this morning in preparation of your last minute hunt. Letting out a long breath with a tight smile you grab them down and slip into the two piece black lace lingerie set that sits beside them, the perfect addition to the outfit. Wrapping the black stiletto gladiator sandals around your calves, they continue to zigzag and synthesize with your skin all the way up to your midthigh. Looking at yourself in the full length mirror of your closet door, you admire the way the straps melt into your skin. It’s late, he’ll be here any minute.

It’s almost done and your racing heart starts to slow as you open your jewelry box for the last piece. Pearls. A matching necklace and earring set. Your hands slide across the cool gems clinging snug against your neck. Almost like a collar - something to mark you with, a way to identify you as his. Each item is a gift. Each gift is a part of his collection.

The distinctive beeping of acceptance from the apartment front door key pad interrupts your pondering. He’s here and it’s customary to greet him.

“Daddy?” Leaning against the frame of your bedroom door, you smile down the hall toward him as he walks in. “I’ve been waiting for you just like you asked.”

“Have you?” His face is unreadable and you almost tell him the truth. His Alexander McQueen pinstripe blue suit fits him like a glove, hugging his tight body in all the right places but you wish it was on the floor and his longer slender fingers inside you. Instead those fingers trace along your silk sleeve, his lips close to yours. “So what did you get up to today?”

He knows.

“I- I went out,” you stammer the words as you back into the room, bumping into your bed and falling back against the royal blue bedding. He doesn’t follow, walking instead to the chair (also royal blue) on the other side of the room and throwing his briefcase down on the soft material. It had seemed hypocritical at the time but you mustn’t say that now. “It was just a quick visit. I haven’t seen anyone in weeks.”

“Hmm?” It’s not the words - it's the intense gaze, the way his jaw tenses and strengthens his already chiselled features that lets you know what you’re in for. It gets lonely waiting for him to return, like a doll still and unmoving.

“I didn’t think you would mind.”

“Oh?” He says walking over to the window. “It’s such a beautiful view, isn’t it? Aren't you happy living here? Don’t you appreciate all the nice things I buy for you?”

“Of course I do, Min Jun, I appreciate all-”

“It is indeed a beautiful view,” he says, closing the blinds, each pull of the string bringing you closer to isolation with the beautiful man in front of you, his eyes devoid of emotion. “See now I’m confused. If you appreciated all that I do for you like you said then you wouldn’t have disobeyed the one command I gave you.”

“I didn’t-”

“Shh.” He is approaching the bed now, undoing the belt buckle, letting it slide across his hand as he pulls it through each loop. “What do we say?”

“This is ridiculous,” you say, shuffling back to the headboard of the bed with a jolt. “I didn’t do anything wrong. I just went out to eat.”

His smile is cruel as he crawls across the bed towards you, each sly movement sleek and calculating. He stops close enough that you feel his minty breath tickling your skin. “Do you want the belt or the hand?”

“Neither.” You pout, shrugging your shoulders and looking away.

“Don’t lie. I know you want it,” he says, his fingers gripping your chin and forcing you to look back at him. His eyes dance with mischief as he holds your defiant glare until you close your eyes in an attempt to avoid him. He doesn’t force them open. Instead he kisses each lid before scattering soft kisses from your lips, along your jaw, and to your ear. He licks a long line up your neck to your temple before he nibbles on your earlobe, your mouth opening in response. His hand snakes its way down your body, his fingers tracing the curves of your sandal straps before slowly making his way up to your thigh, pushing up the silk material of your gown.

“Belt or hand?”

“Hands,” you murmur, a pool of fire starting to build within as you arch back against him. His lips are on the straps as he makes his way back up to his hands, licking at the edge of your thigh. He finds that tender spot between the crease of your leg that has you shuddering while his fingers circle your clit. Breathing hard, the thought of his hands on your throat firing the desire deep within, your voice is husky and hungry when you speak.

“Both of them. And don’t be gentle.”

CHIEF KIM/GOOD MANAGER

Office dramas almost always follow a similar plot: there’s romance, juniors being bullied by superiors, and of course the power plays which has a touch of embezzlement in the mix. Chief Kim on the other hand, provides all of this, and so much more, take it from me, you’ll enjoy every bit of this drama from start to finish.

One of the many things I admire about Chief Kim, is that the plot did not immediately dive into the office drama at the beginning. Before we get to the scenes where all the important stuff goes down, we’re introduced to one of the lead characters of this drama.

Kim Sung Ryong, before being appointed Chief of Business Operations at TQ Group, used to be an accountant for gangsters in his hometown. This character’s main objective is to save enough money so he can move to Denmark, and the only way to obtain such wealth, is to steal it.

Due to the familiar power plays which goes on behind the scenes, Kim Sung Ryong is able to attain a position at TQ Group, and not only is he a chief, he also became the popular Mr Righteous. Such a title contradicts the chief’s personality, and so you’ll find yourself laughing at the few scenes where he begins to contemplate following a new path.

Aside from the comedic scenes involving Chief Kim, the plot steers in a different direction, by showcasing one of the powerful, yet evil directors of TQ Group. Director Seo Yool is brought into TQ Group as a fixer, and we’ll see the reason behind his appointment, as this director gets things done.

However, Director Seo Yool won’t be your favourite person, as the way in which he goes about solving the company’s problems, is a bit too unscrupulous. Each time this character is on-screen, you’ll realize just how devious he can be.

As corruption within the company increases, Chief Kim along with the members of Business Operations, all join hands to fight against the monsters of irrationality. I admired how the plot allowed the underdog to thrive, as Chief Kim used his brains and wit, to outsmart his opponents.

Yes there are moments in the plot where things might not go their way, however Chief Kim emphasizes the importance of teamwork, and the fact that one player cannot save an entire team. The storyline continues with one issue after the next, and as a viewer you’ll begin to wonder just how far the corruption goes.

Romance is indeed an important factor to most plots, but Chief Kim shows us that a healthy bromance trumps just about anything. Chief Kim and Director Yool’s relationship started off as both parties being rivals, and whenever they’re together on-screen, the lively banter will have you giggling away.

However, another thing I admired about Chief Kim, is that the majority of its characters go through some sort of personality development. The same applies to both Chief Kim and Director Yool, as not only do they change their ways, but they also join hands in the fight against corruption.

The chemistry between all the characters in Chief Kim, is indeed overflowing, and so we get to see well-carried out interactions between each character. The members of Business Operations, are such a close knit group, and this familiarity results in this department being able to withstand anything which the company throws at them.

Nam Goong Min plays the character of Kim Sung Ryong/Chief Kim/TQ’s Psycho, a talented accountant who later becomes the icon for righteousness. Nam Goong Min has many projects under his belt, and there’s no doubting his skills. You can find him in Falsify, and keep an eye out for his upcoming drama Handsome Guy and Jung Eum.

Lee Jun Ho, more popularly known as Junho of the boyband 2PM, plays the character of Director Seo Yool/Gluttonous Sociopath. Not only is Lee Jun Ho a talented singer and dancer, but he also a talented actor, with a variety of skills. You can find Lee Jun Ho in Just Between Lovers, and keep an eye out for his upcoming drama Wok of Love.

Nam Sang Mi plays the character of Yoon Ha Kyung, an assistant manager in the Business Operations Department. Not only that, she is also Chief Kim’s partner-in-crime, and the person who Director Yool seems to have a crush on. Nam Sang Mi has been active for many years, and so you can find her in Goddess of Marriage, and Gunman in Joseon.

Chief Kim was directed by Lee Jae Hoon and Choi Yoon Suk. Lee Jae Hoon is known for working on Page Turner and Jeong DoJeon. Choi Yoon Suk is also known for working on Assembly and Queen of Mystery 2.

This drama was written by Park Jae Bum, who also wrote the script for Good Doctor, and Blood.
