AAAAAH, I'm actually going to develop that space gothic idea even further once I am finished with my current passion project! (right now, it's just concept art and character sketches)

I'm keeping these projects under wraps for now, because I don't like hyping anyone up without delivering a finished work of art.

Started playing Mass Effect 1 today. Didn't get very far, but I'm pretty invested now. I've known Saren for about 5 minutes and I already figure he's one of the main baddies in this game.

Also, I know what you mean with Ashley now. I can tell we're not going to get along with her attitude about the other aliens from what little I've seen. And from all your posts about her.

All in all, excited to continue exploring this story. Also saw Garrus, didn't know what his voice sounded like, pleasantly surprised by his voice. I think I'm getting the hype around this guy.

Garrus is such an uptight baby twink in the first game 😭 Just give him a smack any time his government funded schooling rears its head and he says something out of left field. He'll learn.

Also just a note; he only becomes romanceable in ME2 and ONLY in ME2. You can't skip his romance in 2 and activate it in 3. So don't stress if you don't et any romantic prompts in the first game. This is a slow burn.

Also his voice XDDDD Trust me, he is PERFECTLY aware people find his voice attractive.

Kanji's showdown with his Shadow is way more intense than the others, honestly. There is some fucking intense angst here. (Also, Troy Baker my beloved never puts in less than 120%, we all knew this.)

I was curious how I would feel about All This in the year 2023 after having played this waaaaaay back when it first came out on PS2. I have my expectations set for "dated but potentially interesting" and I'm not disappointed (yet). Like, boy howdy, all of this? Super tracks.

Being queer, especially for someone like Kanji, is rrrrrrrrough. How much of his hypermasculine punk persona is artifice and how much is it truly himself? He's not the stereotypical young queer guy that his Shadow is mocking him with but he's also not devoid of those markers, and he's banging his head against the wall of cisnormativity and the dreaded Genders.

This game has some, aaaaah, opinions on girls. Or, I guess, hetero people and the whole... preoccupation with romance? Like, did anyone else get That Prank in school? Where a popular person of the opposite gender rolls up and asks you out, with the intention of mocking you for ever thinking you were in their league?

One of the jocks did that to me in HS and I completely didn't Get It and turned him down, and like... you wanna see some shithead boys who don't know how to handle that social script, ha.

My point is: boy howdy, Kanji. It's hard out here for anyone and everyone who isn't perfectly conforming to that specific ideal.

Anyway, Kanji says The Thing and passes out and Shadow Kanji happens.

And BOY I like the mechanics on this one and the implicit storytelling of them. Shadow Kanji is flanked by two very tough adds, Tough Guy and Nice Guy. Everyone on the team has a different weakness, and they all add shields to each other and buff each other to cover for their weaknesses.

It is, in many senses, how queer people, especially queer men, provide cover for each other as needed. Strength in numbers and being willing to help.

Looooong fight but not difficult.

VERY amusing to me that Shadow Kanji gets up and basically takes a verbal swing at Mister Repression here. Yosuke is more panicked than literally everyone here, ha.

Kanji fucking punching his Shadow to make him knock it tf off and then like almost... it's not kindness, but it's like... I'm grasping for the word. It's camaraderie? Like, he wouldn't punch someone else's Heightened Queersona, but he will punch his own bc he understands it and thus himself.

Does that make any sense?

I don't care what people say, I still genuinely, unironically love the 2012 Les Mis movie, and so far I prefer it to any other adaption.

It just goes so hard.

I mean, this all might be due to the fact that this film cought me at the right age at the right time. (I was sixteen goddammit) This film and the surrounding tumblr hype was my first exposure to les mis, it made me read the book, it made me fall in love with the characters and the setting. My number one catharsis movie. I watch it whenever I need to feel something.I love how the camera goes all the way up into the actor's faces and catches little moments and every nuance of their performance. I love how they have tears and snot and sweat and mud running from their faces, how their voices break and shake and whatnot. I love Aaron Tveit and George Blagden. Grantaire will be one of my most treasured blorbos of all time for ever.

Also I genuinely prefer the vocals of the actors in this to any Broadway version I came across. Many people criticize Russel Crowe's singing, for example, but it feels so much more in character to me than any other performance, I think he sounds badass and in charge with the right amount of stiffness. And later on he sounds pained and confused and shaken...While the "real" broadway actors to me sound way too...you know, theatrical? "aaaaah hear how good my voice is?? I'm a trained singeeeer!" :D and I just prefer the more character driven approach lol...That's just a preference, I also tend to like musicians/singers who are very raw and might be "bad singers" but get their emotions across more than technically good ones so yeah...

Will it Cereal? - A Review in two parts:

Aaaaah, Rhett and Link! I love you guys every weekday morning gracing my TV screen. Your silly antics and banter make me smile. Your tshirts are fun and funky. Your paid subscription service is unique and enjoyable. I'm a Mythical Beast, it's fair to say.

Now, anyone that knows these two knows they love Peanut Butter and they love cereal. Especially Link. So therefore, I jumped when they brought out their own cereal. They were hyping it up as a bowl of nostalgia with a less serious concept, and an 80's vibe.

I will give my final overall rating at the end.

I decided to split my taste test between the two cereals. First up is the "Sweet Mac N Mello":

Cost: ⭐️⭐️/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: This cereal is EXPENSIVE. The two pack is cost prohibitive and the four pack is over $30! Add to this that many have mistaken a subscription to the cereal for a one time purchase, and it's apparent there's a cost issue here. Yes I get that it's not in stores and that'll inflate cost being direct to consumer, but it's a damn small box to boot (9oz.). Low marks here.

The Experience: ⭐️/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: This cereal is made in LA, and then (in my case) took a tour of the US Postal network: Idaho, Iowa, Illinois, Ohio, Arizona, then a week in Whittier, California only about three hours from the manufacturing point and then three days in Las Vegas before another two more days waiting in the North Las Vegas distribution center. The shipping is NOT streamlined and is definitely in need of an upgrade.

The box is weak, glue issues on some, and structural deficiencies on mine. The backs are barely hanging on by a thread.

The bags are glued shut well, preserving freshness which is one kudos I can give.

The Randler on the box is retro and the colors used are vibrant, it's a pleasing design.

Taste: ⭐️⭐️/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: It's bland. Apparently Rhett and Link had to find some place that would make elbow macaroni cereal noodles for this cereal. It was a cute idea in thought, and absolutely awful in execution. The noodles are gigantic and you'll find yourself trying to cram five or six at a time into your maw, only for the majority of the ones on your spoon to splashdown bowlside and the milk typhoons up onto you. If you aren't so lucky, the shape of the cereal will hold onto milk and will dump plenty on you because they're hollow.

Initially I thought the taste was that of Kix, but after a bowl I've decided that it's more closely that of Honeycomb. The cereal itself even reminds me of that brand, even down to the mouthfeel. The mallows are tiny by comparison and are of the sort you find in instant packs with hot cocoa mix. Imparting a generic lightly sweet crunch.

The cereal milk is weird. There's a greasy sheen on top of the milk, it has a vanilla milk smell while the milk is still cold, and begins to smell of coffee after sitting for about five minutes. After 20 minutes it reaches room temp and the smell is popcorn. The milk tastes absolutely disgusting, ending up tasting like someone melted a stick of butter in a glass of milk. Very little sweetness and I can't see any kid drinking this.

As a dry snack, it tastes worse and the texture is styrofoam meets wet cardboard. The taste gives off stale cornmeal vibes which is odd for a fresh bag of cereal.

Overall: ⭐️⭐️/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: This cereal won't cereal. It barely is edible. I now have to eat one and a third boxes of it. Fun times. The PB and Honey I'm hoping is a lot more flavorful. The experience was bad, the product is not good and it's kinda ironic that Rhett and Link would push the retro angle so hard and not give us what made 80's cereals so great: SUGAR. Once again: SUGAR. SUGAR. SUGAR. It needs it soooooo bad.

Characterization on point, intriguing plot, incredible writing. The one God of War fic that refuses to let me go. (WIP)

Malevolent - ⛥⛧this too shall pass⛧🕯️

It would be a long drive home by Croik Summary: Arthur Never Makes the Deal with Kayne AU Comment: *Incoherent noises.* Holy moly, this one is good. Amazing writing, captivating plot, just an overall joy to read. The ending made me crave more.

Lacuna by Calamitatum Summary: After Addison, John gets a body and Crazy Shit Happens (not necessarily in that order) Comment: *increased incoherent noises.* BITCH. This fic broke me. And it ain’t even finished yet. Such excellent content, an absolute must-read. (WIP)

Tuck me in by Croik Summary: After getting his own body, John finds it difficult to adjust to one of the most basic and most anticipated new options for him: sleep. Comment: Cuddles. Solve. EVERYTHING. Am so in love with this fic. I hold it up gently for everyone to see.

formaldehyde (or, The Case of the Missing Lilly) by SupposedToBeWriting Summary: Prohibition with a hint of demons and detective-ing Comment: If you could see my reactions as I was reading this fic you’d understand the hype. Absolutely fantastic piece of art. Just. Aaaaah I love it. Quite long but I barely noticed. Hooks you in and refuses to let go.

Batman (DC) - 🦇we live in a society—🃏

HOPE THE LOVE WE SHARED CAN RESURRECT THE LAST. by orpheusaki Summary: Jason survives Ethiopia and returns home; this is the beginning. Comment: The ending made me cry and demand a refund, but like, in the best of ways. Major Character Death. This one HURT y’all, proceed with caution.

Papa Whiskey Bravo by PsychedelicBumblebee Summary: Dick almost dies while on patrol, and Bruce quietly loses it. Comment: aaaah urgggh this one hurt. A LOT. Which seems to be the ones I end up enjoying the most. Beautifully written. ScaredShitless!Bruce is always a win. Gets you right in the feels.

Don’t hold your breath, I don’t think we have much time left by Chemical_Processes Summary: On a quest to rid Harvey of Two-Face, Duke gets critically injured, forcing Bruce and Harvey to work together to keep him alive. Comment: This ficccccc omg. Absolutely obsessed. Love me some Duke content, and the Bruce & Harvey dynamic is to live for. Protective!Bruce is best Bruce. You might be cautious after what I just said about this author’s other work, but don’t worry! This one sparks joy.

And we’ll be carry each other by FishFromMars Summary: Timmy goes to a safehouse after a mission ends with the death of two of his best friends. Comment: what can I say? Reverse Robins AU is an immediate win in my book. Also Damian being a Good Brother makes me feel stuff, man. Something something poetic cinema something. Really well written as well. Very sad, I love it.

my shoulders are heavy already by a_alene Summary: Damian is not sick. Dick is not having a crisis. Also, freezer pops. Comment: Sickfic, which already tells you it's gonna be some good soup. So incredibly sweet but also very oof. My heart constricted several times while reading this. Damian and Dick’s dynamic and relationship is just so…🥺 I love them, your honor.

The Long Way Home by itsnatalie Summary: Jason and Tim are forced to work together when they’re trapped inside a murderous labyrinth. Things get crazy, y’all. Comment: !!! this. fic. It’s one of those fics that’ll stay with you long after you’ve read it. The longest fic on my list, but oh my god it’s so worth reading. And that’s coming from someone who doesn’t usually read longer fics. Seriously, this shit SLAPS
