Bandai Namco US’ Tamagotchi Booth at San Diego Comic-Con 2022

This is the most impressive convention booth we’ve ever seen for Tamagotchi, and it’s AWESOME! Bandai Namco US clearly went all out for the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con and we are loving every second of it. 2022 San Diego Comic Con started on Thursday July 21st 2022, and will run until July 24th 2022.

The booth itself is very impressive, and it’s large! The first thing you’ll see is a large San Diego Comic-Con exclusive Tamagotchi P1 shell with a large screen inside playing Tamagotchi promotional videos on loop. The booth features clean white walls with vintage Tamagotchi pixel artwork from the Tamagotchi Original series on colorful plaques, very reminiscent of the 25th anniversary pop-up store in Japan back in November 2021.

You could browse the latest Tamagotchi offerings which were featured with wall displays that show the Tamagotchi with a screen playing a video of the gameplay on the respective device. This includes TinyTAN, Jujutsu Kaisen, R2-D2, Toy Story, Jurassic World, and more. It is also important to note that the Jurassic World Tamagotchi is featured, but has yet to be announced by Bandai Namco US at this time.

It also appears that we are getting the latest, which is the third, installment of Demon Slayer Tamagotchi shells! There was quite a nice spread at the booth so we’re sure there will soon be an announcement.

A pop-up store was also in the booth with allowed convention goers to purchase many products including the convention exclusive 2022 San-Diego Comic-Con P1 and P2 shells, the Jurassic World Tamagotchi in two shells, Jujutsu Kaisen Tamagotchi Nano in four shells, Jujutsu Kaisen Hugmy Tamagotchi in three bundles, Kamen Rider Tamagotchi in two shells, Demon Slayer Tamagotchi in nine shells, and two convention exclusive lanyards, and four convention exclusive charms of Kuchipatchi, Mametchi, Momotchi, and Lovelitchi.

A free 25th anniversary bag was provided with any purchase of $20 USD or more.

What really caught our eye was the Tamagotchi history wall! Very similar to what we’ve seen at the 25th anniversary pop-up store in Japan back in November 2021, but modified to support releases of Japanese and North American Tamagotchi’s from 1996 to 2022.

Convention exclusive P1 and P2 Tamagotchi Original shells are absolutely gorgeous and very comic-like. The packaging is beyond beautiful, and merely a work of art. The front of the package features comic-like graphics and Mametchi or Mimitchi in comic form with comic speech bubbles. The back features a Tamagotchi comic which we are totally obsessed with!

Anyone else seriously regretting not getting tickets to 2022 San Diego Comic-Con so that they could see this impressive booth in person? We’re still drooling over it! Amazing job, and a very strong return to San Diego Comic-Con, Bandai Namco US!

Bandai America Inc. Announces Company Will Merge with Bandai Namco Collectibles LLC to Become Bandai Namco Group

A big announcement that is going to take Bandai to the next level! Bandai America Inc. has just announced his week that they will be merging with Bandai Namco Collectibles LLC and become the Bandai Namco Group. Some might remember that toy giant Bandai merged with game publisher Namco back in 2005. Then in 2018 Bandai Spirits Co., Ltd. was established, merging the collectibles and model kits business from Bandai and Banpresto, a group company focusing on prize and lottery business, into into one company.

So what is this all about? Well Bandai Namco Holdings acquired Bluefin Distribution back in 2019, establishing a new subsidiary named Bandai Namco Collectibles LLC. Now, Bandai is announcing that the company will merge with Bandai Namco Collectibles LLC to become Bandai Namco Group. Both companies have always worked cohesively together, but the companies will now merge in a symbiotic way like never before.

"This company merger marks only the start of an exciting future for Bandai Namco Toys & Collectibles America as we continue to produce both existing and new products fans are hungry for," said Shu Takahara, COO of Bandai Namco Toys & Collectibles America Inc. "Joining forces will only make us more powerful as each company has unique strengths that will only accelerate with this union.”

"We're incredibly excited for this merger," said Bandai Namco Toys & Collectibles America Inc. CEO Steve Fujimura. "Working together will give us an opportunity to not only expand the breadth of products we can offer to our fans and consumers alike, but also tap into new audiences as well.”

This is the official start of the Bandai Namco Toys & Collectives America Inc. merger, working in unison to expand on their already well-received line of premium products and toys. The three brands will be working alongside each other at their new Irvine office in California.

With the merger comes a new mission:

Bandai Namco exists to share dreams, fun, and inspiration with people around the world. Connecting people and societies in the enjoyment of uniquely entertaining products and services, we’re working to create a brighter future for everyone.

Even more exciting, a new design concept and logo:

The new logo’s speech bubble motif, “Fukidashi” in Japanese, expresses the potential of the brand to connect with people around the world and inspire them with amazing ideas. The speech bubble also represents Japan’s manga culture that has become so popular everywhere. The logo stands for our determination to communicate with fans worldwide, to connect with our fans, and to create entertainment unique to Bandai Namco.

Lastly, social media handles have changed. @BluefinBrands will now be @BandaiCollect, and @BandaiAmerica will now be @Bandai_Play. Bandai Collect will continue to provide all the details on upcoming items on collectible brands such as Bandai Hobby, Tamashii Nations, MegaHouse, Storm Collectibles, Flame, Sen-Ti-Nel, and so many more.
