Description: We are all controlled by something in our lives, even if it’s just our emotions. There is this tangible sense of control that can wreck our lives and limit us. In trying to break free of these feelings, we often find ourselves fighting invisible forces. However, to resist what controls us is to reclaim power. The crossing of the man’s arms resembles the placement in a straight jacket, a device meant to prevent people from harming themselves. Both in falling victim to our additions and breaking away from them we can harm ourselves, but there is still something empowering about resisting.

We share mind body and spirit. But this darling feels like forever, waterfalls brush against the rocks at the canyon. & When the grandfather clock strikes two, I see your left foot..stepping on the beautiful green terrain & then I notice the water hitting hard in one spot and gently in others. It’s truly a sight to see and it’s never ending. Infinite possibilities when it comes to the game of love. My eyes are only set on you, in every life. You may take a break and turn an away from time to time. But uh…. I still see you, a clear view. Don’t leave me here forever, I only feel safe with you. Not one word shall be spoken about the ties we share.. now that I’m prepared. I need you in this life more than now until forever. I give myself to you. Flesh to flesh you hug me right in the middle of the bedrock, And for that I’m so grateful. Chamomile surrounds us, the smell is so warm and calming especially when it hits the water on a hot day. I will never forget the way you hugged me from behind, you held me so tight.

To my millennial peers and to ALL this may resonate with. You are BRAVE. I am so proud of you, of myself. We are breaking chains and cycles perpetuated in our lives, in us, in past generations. We are healing traumas, facing our shadows, addressing our mental health, rethinking and setting boundaries in relationships, acknowledging and learning our ancestors' true history, asking questions, re-imagining, and not accepting the status quo. As much pain as these memories, pursuits, or hard truths bring up, we are only growing, making better and new what once was and moving towards what could be. This is not only for ourselves but for generations to come-- new cells regenerating in our bodies, reprogramming neurons in our minds, the beginning of healing our spirits. Cheers to being BRAVE and overcoming our fears with HEART, to finding our voice, making our mark, and owning our place in the world. Humbly, gently, slowly, we are moving in this journey TOGETHER.

I wrote the above a couple years ago but re-reading it now feels very potent on this spring equinox today.

Love

When I think about how I have viewed myself, I become sadden by the poor treatment that I give myself but yet was able to pour into others without giving it a thought.

To truly be in love, has to first start with self. When I don’t prepare myself for the day, week, month or year… I allow my energy to be controlled by outside influences. Being more aware of self as I waken me to the true innerstanding of love and being in love.

When one don’t love themselves, how can they possibly love someone else. I have harm many in my race for love and I am truly sorry. I see how the lack of self nourishment caused the mind to play fears and doubts like a rerun of seasons.

Being in love truly starts with self. Eating to live instead of eating to die will increase one’s love of self which will inturn open one’s view of humanity and their relationships.

Be in love with self so your loved ones can get the real you. You know the one that don’t yell and scream with things go side ways. The one the can be honest and respectful without putting hands on someone. The one the see the truth and stand firm no matter what someone else thinks.

Be in love with self to create a shift. Be the love that you wish for. Be in love with self so people can see the god in you.
