Here is my very own ranking for Carmen Sandiego outfits in season 1.

I feel it is necessary to mention that she is so fucking hot and wicked-awesome that she looks amazing in everything. She would look beautiful in a potato sack.

Warning: this is a long post that may contain my bad resolution images and poorly made gifs.

13. Gray Vile Uniform.

It is weird that having Countess Cleo on the very faculty, the students' uniforms are so ugly. 0/10 Ugly crap. Even the cleaners look better.

12. Dark Vile Uniform.

It is an upgrade. Still not very stylish. Kinda neutral, but at least black and green get along fine enough. But it is a uniform... her personality doesn't shine through this one.

11. Overalls.

She still hasn't grown into her own style but at least I believe it is a personal choice. And green is so not her color.

10. Lab Coat.

She looks so sexy with glasses. She looks classy and smart. But at the end of the day, it is just a lab coat. We know she can rock anything she puts on, but there is no much effort in this, since it is a disguise, a quite simple one at that. Still, baby you look great!

9. The jammies!

So cozy. We get a glimpse at her everyday life. Still very practical and very red. She seems to wear her make up to bed and leave her clothes on the floor.

We are not only seeing a superthief here, but a beautiful woman that just woke up... literally.

8. Diver suit.

Red, red all over. Completely in character. It is obvious the effort in making this piece useful efficient and stylish all in one. Probably one of Ivy's best works.

7. Duchess disguise.

How did Devineaux didn't recognize that beautiful gray eye! Black suits her just fine. Mysterious and fancy. Shows her figure well and the pantsuit compliments her nice strong legs. Looks good with straight hair (that's the only straight thing that suits her).

You can see here she likes chokers. They are part of most of her outfits.

6. Denim shorts.

Wow talking about nice strong legs! Girl you're just showing off. Don't blame you, keep it up. Sporty look here appropriate for the weather. How can she make a short and a t-shirt look so good is beyond me.

With a matching hoodie when it gets cold.

5. Bikini.

Sadly we could not get a good look at this piece. She was on a bad mood at that particular time and didn't want to get off the chair. Too much sun, she said I've had enough tropical beach to last me a lifetime, she said.

Despite how awesome she probably looks in this swimsuit, I think it does not deserve to be in the top 3.

We know she likes wide hats :)

4. Auction Dress.

Hot hot hot hot! Oh boy it's burning baby! No words for this. My brain just melted when I saw her in this dress for the first time. Red and gold combine so well.

The gloves! so elegant!!!

Did you see her back?! asdjkwashgdfhf!!!! Also I told you she likes chokers.

Bonus! We get a closer look at her shoes! And so does Devineaux :)

Now the next is the Top 3. I believe the next ones really look good on her. Not only because she looks pretty but also because it shows her personality. She feels so confident and comfortable wearing them that she puts them on regularly. Therefore it may not be a surprise they are the top 3.

But before that, the 3 honorable mentions.

3. Mumbai outfit.

She wears this the first time in Mumbai. Where she meets Jules. Perfect for hot weather. Nice and casual. Little red belt and unavoidable chocker. Love it. I don't know what else to tell you. Simply fabulous.

She is just so unbelievably cool.

2. The RED COAT.

This is the most recognizable of all. The signature. The trademark. This one is what earns her the nick names. La femme rouge! The crimson ghost! Fedora the explorah!

The agility, the sneakiness, the skillfulness!

This coat represents the path she chose. This is the person she has become. Where the world is in danger of loosing its history she's made her mission to preserve it.

Iconic. Just iconic.

So resourceful! She makes me weak in the knees.

NUMBER 1.

Red Hoodie.

Where the Red Coat dresses the thief, the Red Hoodie warms up the woman. This is Carmen, the girl in her comfy everyday clothes. If she had had a normal life, this is what she would wear.

You know that shirt that you barely take off? The one pair of pants that you wear so often it gets holes at the knees? This is it for Carmen.

This is what she feels most comfortable wearing on a daily basis. It is my opinion that this is the more genuine expression of Carmen Sandiego when it comes to clothes. And for that I give this outfit the first place.

The fishy doubloon caper actually does such a good job of giving us ACME exposition and explaining who the random people from the pervious two episodes were. It also sets up the Devineaux/Julia/ACME dynamic so well.

(Also I love how they full on just tell us that ACME's CrimeNet technology is less capable than player cause he finds so much VILE chatter and they haven't found any good leads)

im getting you started.

Bro, the timeline in Carmen Sandiego is super finicky, and I'm pretty sure I've spent more time thinking about this than the creators intended us to, but WHATEVER. It haunts me.

Right, so the creators said Carmen is 20 at the start of the series, but as I said: that math don't math!

Season one takes place over the course of six months:

Season 2 picks up one week after season 1, in February. We know this because they're celebrating Carnival.

For the purpose of breaking down this theory, I'm going to place Carmen's birthday as March 1st, her WOEICs counterpart's official birthday.

So. At the end of season one, which would have been mid-February, Player says something about how Carmen was found on the side of the road twenty years ago, but if her birthday was in a mere matter of weeks, couldn't you theorize that he was rounding up? Maybe she's 19 turning 20.

Or, maybe, she's 20 turning 21? No!

At the end of season 2, Shadowsan says he found her twenty years ago. This is where we take a detour to discuss infant development.

In the flashbacks, we see that baby Carmen prefers crawling-- she can toddle a little bit, but not well. Children typically begin standing between 7 and 12 months, and walking between 10 and 18 months. We also see that she babbles and coos a lot, but no words. Children tend to say their first word at around 12 months. Based on this, I'd wager that baby Carmen was around seven or eight months old. We know she's a physical prodigy, so she could potentially be even younger-- the youngest recorded baby to walk was six months old.

Placing baby at 7 months when she was kidnapped, that makes Shadowsan's "I found you twenty years ago" accurate to the month. At this point, Carmen is 20 years and 7 months old.

Season three takes place in October/November. Presumably, season three picks up right after season two, putting the end of season two in October. It spans about the same length as season one.

While the word of the creators doesn't have much bearing here-- as this post is very much a "you guys are wrong and here's why" kind of post-- one of the creators did say that they imagined Carmen as being twenty by season three. That would make it impossible for her to have been twenty during season one. Too much time has passed for that to work.

Season 4 takes place sometime around February. We know this because Devineaux asks Gray what he was doing on the train to Poitiers 18 months ago. 12 months ago would have been February (start of season 2) and six months before that is August. That's eighteen months.

Going by this, I think Carmen was yoinked just after her twenty-first.

Interestingly, if my math is mathing-- and who knows, I turned a two year degree into a three year degree because I kept failing math classes, I could be talking actual nonsense right now-- this makes Player like 17/18 by season four, and that's hilarious to me because that means his parents (tried) to make him go to school for like the last semester of his senior year. Free my boy 😭

In conclusion, Carmen is 19 at the start of season one, she and Player are three years apart, and Player's parents are some cruel mfers. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

ATLA: Avatar the Last Airbender (Not available globally - what countries are missing? IDK)

Woot woot! Avatar in the house. 45.5M hours for book 1, giving it a rank of 342.

Book 3 has more views than book 2. I'm gonna credit that to Zuko.

Teen Wolf (Not available globally - what countries are missing? IDK)

The top season is season 3, oddly enough, with a rank of 361! It got 43.9M hours streamed. What are you all rewatching?

Season 1 is the third most watched.

Jurassic World (Not available globally - what countries are missing? IDK)

A healthy rank of 536 with 34M views.

Yu-Gi-Oh (Not available in the US)

Season one is ranked 1,843, with 11.4M hours watched in the first half of the year. Wow! That's impressive for such an old show.

Only 54% of people moved on to the second season. Sad😢

Season 5 had more views than Season 4 or 3. Stop torturing yourselves with rewatching the ceremonial duel, y'all. It's not healthy.

Season one saw 5.9M hours watched, giving it a rank of 3,133! Not bad for a show from 2019. (How does YGO out rank this? And how is this show more popular than She-Ra? She-Ra is better imo)

I'm impressed the Steal or Not to Steal interactive story did as well as it did. (1.3M hours). But I also know there were some good JuliaxCarmen scenes that 100% inspired fics.

She-Ra (available globally)

Season 1 is ranked 3,213 with 5.7M hours viewed.

People then went on to watch Seasons 5 and 4. We're all rewatching the angst bits, aren't we? Or maybe it's the redemption arc.

Least watched season? 3.

Voltron

Season one is ranked 4,140 with 3.9M hours watched.

Why is season 2 the only one not available globally? Odd. 62% of people go on to watch it after season 1 anyway.

Season 8 is not the least watched season, season 5 is. However, season 5 is totally the one I rewatched twice when it first came out.

Fullmetal Alchemist (movies are global, anime are not)

It is an absolute crime nothing here is ranked high. The highest is the movie, The Revenge of Scar, with a rank of 5,666. 2.2M hours watched.

Only season 1 for both the 03 anime and Brotherhood is available, but the 03 anime is winning. It had an extra 200K hours viewed.

All of the movies had a higher hour watch count than any of the anime seasons.

Rating VILE operatives' codenames in french

(Season 1 edition)

Black sheep = Mouton Noir. Literal translation. It works. Longer and more of a mouthful than Black sheep though. 9/10

Crackle = Crackle, or should I say Craqueul. God does the french accent shine through in those English words, it's embarrassing. Anyway they didn't try very hard but Crackle is nice. Short, sweet, straight to the point. Though it's not a french word, it's close enough to french words and onomatopoeia like crac and craquement to bring to mind electricity with a threatening edge. Deducting a point because it's still not that transparent for french speakers. 9/10

Le Chèvre = La Chèvre. YES YES THEY CORRECTED MY BIGGEST PET PEEVE!!! "Chèvre" is a feminine noun in french, you say "la chèvre" and never "le chèvre", it just doesn't make sense. I am so happy. 100000/10

El Topo = El Topo. You know what they say: if it ain't broke... Also very glad they didn't translate as there are few names in spanish. 10/10

Tigress = Tigresse. Literal translation, which works well bc the two words are very close. The french pronounciation keeps giving me a double take so I'll deduct a point. 9/10

Mime Bomb = le Mime Marteau ("marteau" literally means hammer but it's also a colloquial way of saying "crazy"). Okay I used to think it was fucking stupid but I was just an uncultured swine. It references Marcel Marceau, aka "le Mime Marceau", a french mime and actor. I do prefer Mime Bomb bc it's both funny and gives a subtle air of menace, while to me "marteau" only conveys weirdness, but Mime Marteau is pretty good too. 10/10 for the effort.

Dash Haber = Dash Haber. 0 effort and it's not even a pun in french, for fuck's sake. 2/10

Paperstar = Origamine. There's been an effort, I'll give them that. This is a portemanteau word of "origami" (don't think I need to explain this one) and "gamine" (feminine form of "gamin", french informal word meaning kid). Buuuut... why would Paperstar call herself a kid. Yes, she has a soft singsong voice and does that humming thing, but she doesn't really... make it part of her identity?? She looks young but she doesn't strike me as wanting to be called a kid. 5/10 because i'm still very lukewarm about it.

Cookie Booker = Cathy Compta. Cathy like the name and Compta as the shortened version of "comptabilité", as in "accounting". This is the worst name ever. I love it. It HAS to be the name of a character from an old game or show because they would never have just invented it for the 2019 show. It's cheesy and sounds absolutely terrible and it cracked me up, this is so classic Carmen Sandiego. 9/10

Number 7: Hospital gown!

I mean, quite unfortunate to be in a hospital. But at least they let her keep her makeup? Cmmon! Those lips are way too red to not be make up. The nurses were like: She's frozen but that doesn't mean she can't be glamorous.

Number 6: Training outfit.

Always protect the face. She will break yours while looking awesome.

Did you notice that triangles are a common thing on her clothes? Should we make a conspiracy theory about it?

Number 5: Russian outfit

She looks great. Boob window and all. The slit on the skirt. But even more that that: She can fight in heels.

She was the best toddler pick pocketer. Probably the only one.

Fashion's latest scream! A very elegant coat made out of... the remains of a glider. Kudos to Carmen for making the best out of an awful situation.

To this day I hate Chief for this. Hate her deeply. Carmen might forgive her but I do not.

Carmen's dream hats. They are imported. They are here because that hat is so iconic it made its way into the subconscious world.

Third Place: Safari outfit.

Oh my glob. Can she look cuter than this? I know it doesn't appreciate here but she is wearing a red belt. Can not be a Carmen outfit without red. Nice very nice outfit. She looks super cool.

And my goodness, those legs!

Second place: Dubai Dress.

This one was difficult for me. I almost gave it the first place, because she looks so damn elegant and sexy! She has a cape, A CAPE! She looks like a woman that anyone would obey at the snap of her fingers.

And a hairdo! And the earrings! Little splashes of red.

Stunning! simply stunning.

First Place: Moto GP

I am biased. I love motorcycles. And I love Carmen. And Carmen in a motorcycle? What else could I ask for?

I may be cheating here because I´m counting the bike as part of the outfit. She looks super hot on a Ducati, sue me.

Was rewatching the fishy doubloon caper and thinking about how I absolutely love carmen sandiego for giving us such cool one time characters like Dr. Pilar Marquez and lupe peligro and sonia (not to mention all the one time vile characters). Like these characters fully show up in only one episode but the added depth they add is something the fandom really fails to talk about.

So shout out to Dr. Pilar Marquez for just rolling with it when Carmen promises to help her get back the coin rather than suspecting her of having ulterior motives (and also for keeping her alive).

Carmen Sandiego Wok-Tossed Stir Fry Recipe

SERVES 4

Ingredients:

500g lean beef, sliced

1/6 cup garlic, finely chopped

1/2 cup onions, chopped

2 cups broccoli, chopped

1 cup tofu, cubed

1/2 cup spring onions

1 cup bok choy

1/4 cup peas

1/2 cup shiitake mushrooms, chopped

1 cup mixed bell peppers

Oil

Salt and pepper to taste

1 bottle RedCrackle Powder

1 large scoop CarmIvy seasoning

1/4 cup Team Red Mix

Procedure:

In a wok, drizzle some oil, allowing it to heat before adding the garlic and onions in.

Throw in the broccoli, followed by the bok choy, lean beef, tofu and bell peppers. Toss them with a spatula.

Add the peas and shiitake mushrooms in.

When all the ingredients are well-cooked, transfer the contents into a plate, seasoning with salt and pepper, and finally, garnishing with chopped spring onions, the entire bottle of RedCrackle Powder, CarmIvy seasoning and Team Red Mix. Serve with steamed rice.

oh so many. SO many. including but not limited to: meddison season 18/19 neighbor au, meddison bloomington au, and are you mine? (i'm not quite yours). its exhausting having all these ideas and no motivation to write them :(

i'm told that i write complex/angsty feelings really well! and i'm glad i do lol because why is my brain like this if not to be a storyteller

little movements. i love them and need them. they kill me.

Before V.I.L.E.

Blank was young when he started sleeping on the streets. (reason being that he ran away) and his gateway to a life of crime, was thievery for survival. (the world revolves around money, and he's a homeless runaway so the only way for him to survive is through theft.)

He Joined a Gang (or like a mafia group) not knowing that the certain gang he joined had a reputation for being acquainted with other criminal groups across the earth..

Blank's stealing was of good use to the gang but only temporarily. because the things they stole never lasted long

How He Joined V.I.L.E.

Because of the Gang's Reputation for being acquainted with other criminal organizations, Blank was told that he should join a Vocational School to enhance his Skills in Thievery.

Valuable Imports, Lavish Exports .. Blank thought that it was a good idea to join so he did.

(basically, It's similar to how Sonia was almost recruited as a student of V.I.L.E. academy by ms. contreras.. but younger.)

Blank ofcourse had to earn his status first before actually being considered by vile. (especially because of their standards and age requirement) and prove that he's actually capable of being able to join despite his young age.. this wasn't as easy as one says..

but because he was young and was able to disguise himself well, he always got away from the bluecoat's tails.

If disguises didn't work, He was Crafty. using things that he can find in the area, sometimes he even uses cans of deodorant or any gas and some fire to create an explosion in the distance as a distraction (basically a reuse, reduce, recycle kind of thief) he was never considered a suspect of such big thefts in his area because of his age and the fact that he disguises himself.

(blank even had a gang nickname for this. "The Chameleon" for being a master of disguise and blending in.)

V.I.L.E. slowly started to become aware of The Chameleon's presence in the criminal underworld. and is actually considering him as a Student for Vile Academy..

Coach Brunt and Shadow-san were absolutely against it

(even they were surprised that they can agree on something for once)

Shadow-san knew that Blank was Too Young for VILE (similar to how he saw Black Sheep)

Coach Brunt thinks that Blank would end up a traitor like Black Sheep.

either way, Blank was still able to join because of the Vote taken by the Faculty.

All in Favor were 3 of the faculty members

Professor Maelstrom liked Blank's strategy of Operating and Keeping to the Shadows.

Countess Cleo liked Blank's diverse styles in his disguises. and;

Dr. Bellum absolutely LOVED how crafty he was and how he's able to use his environment to his advantage.

How his days in Vile were like

Blank was certainly not treated like the other students. Because of Vile's Former Student Black sheep, Blank was Compared to Her.. how blank was younger when he joined the academy and that there's a possibility that blank could end up like Her.. Blank was always under the faculty's watch. (like how Black sheep was during her holdover year)

Shadow-san and Coach Brunt were always the hardest on Blank (in the hopes of making him give up and try again once he's come of age.)

Shadow-san always made Condescending Comments about how Blank is just a child. and that He won't even be able to get near Vile's standards (despite how well he's doing in class like everyone else)

And Coach Brunt always treated Blank Harshly, by telling him that the other students were always doing better during training and that Blank is just a chicken.(even if blank is doing as good as the others)

Either Way, Blank was constantly busy.. Under Dr. Bellum's Surveillance, in Countess Cleo's ways to "tame" blank (thinking that blank is as wild as black sheep for being younger) Meditating Sessions with Shadow-san (to ensure discipline), and extra training from Coach Brunt. (to make it all harder for blank)

How Blank Passed Vile Academy

Fun Fact, Blank had to Redo his Course work because he failed stealth 101. (the same reason why Black Sheep Failed. the coat was empty :D)

During Blank's 1st year exams. he was determined to prove to everyone at vile that he's capable of being an operative despite how old he is. (but failed even if he did his best. because the coat is literally empty)

During his 2nd year Exam. Blank was not gonna take Failure as an option..

Shadow-san set the clock to 2 minutes and the exam began.. blank triple checked every pocket he could reach in the coat but still nothing. blank was even starting to use brute force on shadow-san.

30 seconds left on the clock and Blank was definitely not having Failure.

Blank managed to snatch the coat off of shadow-san as he was tipped off..

blank kept checking EVERY pocket. now that the coat was out, blank definitely was gonna pass now.

shadow-san was still trying to grab the coat back with his might..

the timer runs out. shadow-san and blank are still fighting for the coat. for a damn dollar bill that isn't even in the coat.

Blank and his classmates realized that the coat was empty. and shadow-san was called out for it.

shadow-san had no other choice but to let blank pass.

hence, the reason why he was able to pass despite his young age.

[Author’s Note: I had this on my mind for a couple of days, not the best quality but writing is writing. This follows the end of Season 1/Beginning of Season 2. Y/n takes Devinaeux’s place]

     Agent Sandiego sped walked through the hospital hallways, trying to keep herself calm. 

“Excuse me.” 

“Sorry.” 

“Make way.” 

When she found the room number she opened the door. You sat in the hospital bed, looking out the window but now turning your head towards Carmen. “Carmen?” You remember her and a weight is lifted off of her chest.

With a few quick strides she’s by your hospital bed, her hands on your cheeks. “How are you feeling? Are you hurt?” You can’t help but feel guilty that your mistakes caused so much trouble. You lost your ACME keycard and you didn’t check the toothpaste that was placed into your bathroom. You felt like a terrible agent. 

Worst of all, you made Carmen worry about you.

“I’m fine.” You murmur taking one of Carmen’s hands from your cheeks and intertwining it with your own hand. “I just feel so…Stupid for compromising ACME like this.” The scarlet agent shakes her head, lightly squeezing your hand. “I don’t care about ACME right now, I care about you.” You’re surprised to hear this. Agent Carmen Sandiego is Chief’s right hand gal, everyone knows for a fact that she’ll be the one running ACME when Chief retires. 

“Please…Just tell me what happened. Chiefly told me but I want to hear it from your own mouth.” Carmen begs.

Your mind is a haze but you remember things, some are more coherent than others. “There were two people. They put…Something on my head and it made me tell them everything I knew about ACME.” Tears well in your eyes and you lean your head on Carmen’s shoulder, losing yourself in the red of her coat. “I wasn’t strong enough.” Carmen couldn’t blame you for getting emotional. What happened to you sounded terrifying. You could have died. 

Carmen blames herself for this. She was a great agent but a terrible lover. According to Chief, you had also seen the Jule Thief. Your girlfriend’s grip tightens on you, not enough to hurt you but enough for you to notice. 

That thief is going to pay. 

Super Thief Julia Argent x Reader: 

     Julia looked out the private plane’s window pensively, watching as the clouds flew by. “What’s wrong, Jules? Aren’t you happy we got the hard drive?” Player asks, interrupting the thief from her thoughts. 

“I am but…” A small frown appears on her face. “I wish I could have done something to prevent this from happening in the first place.” Player had known Jules since her VILE schooling. She was a great thief with an even greater moral compass, but she had a soft heart. Especially for ACME agent Y/n. Agent Y/n was the person apart of ACME that understood there was more to her than she meets the eye. 

“ACME will take care of them.” Player tries to reassure her. “You should be worried about you right now. Coach Brunt broke two of your ribs and you were saved by ShadowSan. Inside and out this has to be wearing you down.” Julia shrugs but Player knows he’s right. “Are you sure you want to do this caper? Maybe you aren’t ready.” 

Julia shakes her head, putting on her brave face. She doesn’t look very menacing but she’s still a force to be reckoned with. “I’ll be fine, Player. A lot is at stake here.” 

The plane is on its to Rio de Janeiro. Thanks to the hard drive supplied by ShadowSan, she could continue her capers. Hopefully she’ll be one step closer to taking down VILE. 

Hopefully in the future she could explain everything to you, that she could apologize to you directly for getting you caught up in this mess. But for now, Julia has to be seen as the villain.
