Honestly, I’m kind of surprised they haven’t replaced Chipp with a successor character yet. Not that I don’t like Chipp, but he seems like the kind of character who they’d be like “He’s busy now! This is his student/adopted child/fan girl or boy (who plays exactly the same).”
Then, after one game, they’d bring Chipp back and he’d have a beard (to show the passage of time). His student would still be there, but with faster wind up and a higher jump whereas Chipp would be slower but maybe a little bit harder hitting.
i don’t know if anyone else has noticed this but one of the things i love most about show annabeth is that you can see her thinking. there’s been several scenes now where you can almost pinpoint the exact moment she starts coming up with a plan or is mentally taking apart an enemy to figure out the best strategy for ensuring victory. there’s something in her expression and eyes that changes when this is happening and it says a lot about leah’s performance and talent that she’s able to pull off such a subtle change so flawlessly. as a son of poseidon, percy’s powers are much easier to show because of how he has to interact with external forces (the sea and water), but annabeth’s greatest weapon is her mind. all her thinking is taking place internally, and typically it wouldn’t be nearly as obvious to us as viewers. but the pjo show found a way to show it to us anyways and it’s so cool to me. every time it happens i sit on my couch and scream “THAT’S an ATHENA KID”
(Random mgs whump related ramblings under the cut)
Look how we are given kaz.
Beautiful.
There are so many other parts in the series like this, that just make the whumperflies go crazy, that if I were to mention all of them I'd be here praising Kojima for hours.
Before I actually got the chance to play any of the games, I remember looking up and watching cutscenes (like Raiden stopping haven or the Raiden/vamp fight or Raiden's "it even rained the day i was born" scene when he is all hooked up to the dialysis machine in mgs4. The torture scene in MGS3. The torture scene in mgs2. Were all my favorite go to). Actually playing the games just made the experience so much better.
But back to the image...
Kojima really knows how to make pretty boys get tortured almost to death and then give them to us looking all pretty still.

Carmilla would take her responsibility as Carmi & Charlie's godmother very, very seriously. Not to mention that Lilith would love the olive branch of inviting Sinners in to be such a vital importance to the Morningstars, and what more perfect choices than the oldest Overlord, Zestial, and one of the most level-headed Overlords in the City, Carmilla, who also happens to be a mother? Both are very logic-oriented folk, sound, civil, who seek to keep Heaven off their damned doorstep.
Carmilla and Zestial really fit in as the quiet Godparents for the Throne. It fits wonderfully actually ksdfkasdf. I love that a lot.
I know Carmilla was hurting with those two when the news broke of the Incident. I know she was there at the Palace the first moment she was able, and Zestial likely in tow. Keeping their distance from the raging and fiery, grieving King, but being informed of Carmi's 'death' by Lilith, who would tell them that all they had left now was Charlotte.
Carmilla being this unwavering presence in Charlie's life, but both not exactly seeing eye-to-eye due to the fact that Carmilla is the holy weapons dealer, but there is probably no doubt in how grounding and helpful she can be, especially after Lilith vanishes, and Carmilla becomes a somewhat regular person in Charlie's life, perhaps?
