Poor Peter just trying to make ends meet, especially with Jameson demanding photos of the newest public "menace" in action. Deadpool isn’t entirely an unfamiliar face though, he just doesn’t know him as "Peter"… which might make this risky …or so it seems for a moment. (peter’s one sole main worry though: will he be able to make rent this month-)

It is important to note that the implementation of the uniform civil code has been a subject of political debate in India for decades.This issue has been raised by various government & non-governmental organisations based on the principle of gender equality & secularism. However, it is also seen that the political parties are using the implementation of the uniform civil code as a political platform during the election season.Ultimately,the implementation of the uniform civil code shd be based on its merit & the principle of equality & not merely for political gains.

The provision for uniform civil code can be found under Article 44 of the Indian constitution's Directive Principles of State Policy.The Article states that " The state shall endeavour to secure for the citizen's a uniform civil code throughout the territory of India".The Article is a non-binding provision which means that it is not enforceable through courts.It is up to the Parliament & State Legislature to implement it.

The DPSP lays down the principles that guides the Govt. on matters of policy & governance. They are a set of guidelines that promote the welfare of the people & help establish a just society. The uniform civil code is one of the many DPSP( Directive Principles of State Policy) enshrined in the Indian constitution.

The objective of the UCC is to provide a uniform set of laws for personal affairs such as marriage, divorce, inheritance & adoption for all citizens of India regardless of their religion. The idea behind it is to promote secularism & equality & to ensure that women across all religions have equal rights in matters of personal law.

Those who support the implementation of the uniform civil code believe that it will help to promote gender equality as women across many religions are discriminated against when it comes to issue such as property inheritance, marriage & divorce. They feel that a common law will help to bring about uniformity in the interpretation of law & reduce the instances of deliberate misinterpretation of personal laws to discriminate against women.

On the other hand,those who oppose the implementation of the uniform civil code argue that the personal laws are part of the fundamental features of different religions. They also argue that the implementation of the code will be counter-productive to the goal of preserving diverse cultures,traditions & ways of life that make up the unique Indian identity.

Another opposing view is that uniformity does not necessarily lead to gender equality & the uniform civil code cud be used to suppress the rights of minorities.

However, there are instances where the implementation of a common law has helped to promote equality & justice, for example, the Hindu Code Bill which brought abt reforms in Hindu personal law helped to abolish the practice of child marriage & triple talaq.These reforms have been seen as progressive & have been widely accepted.

Though the implementation of the uniform civil code has been a matter of debate many religious communities feel that it will infringe on their personal laws & lead to loss of cultural identity so it requires careful consideration of the views of various communities. While uniformity in the interpretation of law can promote justice & equality the rights of minorities shd also be protected & the diverse fabric of our society shd be preserved while decaying discriminatory personal laws that adversely affect the rights of women & other vulnerable sections. Ultimately, the goal shd be to promote equality & justice for all citizens regardless of their religion or gender.

Therefore, the implementation of the UCC is at the discretion of the Parliament & state legislatures who must take into account the diverse culture & tradition of the country while promoting the welfare of the people.

These political parties have no good heart to think of the citoyens. They only bring these bills to notice during some or the other election. This idea had rung bells in 2021 but was not put into force. It is being discussed again just before the elections in three major states of India.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday (23 April) commenced hearing on the issue whether private property can be brought under “material resources of the community” which the state is called upon to distribute equally as per Article 39(b) of the Constitution.

BENCH:

The nine-judge bench, comprising Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud, Justices Hrishikesh Roy, Abhay S Oka, B V Nagarathna, J B Pardiwala, Manoj Misra, Ujjal Bhuyan, Satish Chandra Sharma and Augustine George Masih, is hearing the case.

Article 39(b) of the Constitution of India places an obligation on “The State” to create policy towards securing “that the ownership and control of the material resources of the community are so distributed as best to subserve the common good”.

This provision falls under Part IV of the Constitution titled “Directive Principles of State Policy”, which are meant to be guiding principles for the enactment of laws, but are not directly enforceable against citizens.
