Cassiopea and Orion
Ellie had a plan. She promised she had one. This wasn't like when Clocky would sent her off on a mission through time with nothing more but a little note with a cryptic message on what to do.
Danny had given her clear instruction. Before one of her many travels to see the world, Danny, in his mid twenties and she in her late teens, had taken her aside once. Telling her about specific instruction she should follow, should she ever find herself in a moment of need, and Danny wasn't able to help her.
Well, now she was in that kind of situation. Amity Park was destroyed with no survivors. Vlads castle was no more. Both Dan and her got deaged, but Dan had to be put in a frozen state when he started to destabilize. And Danny, he had gotten captured by the GIW shoving her out of harms way and telling her to remember what he told her before.
Ellie was pretty sure Danny was telling her to follow the emergency instructions.
So here she was now. In Gotham. Keeping to the shadows and trying to find her way around.
No one ever bothered to tell her how hard it was to navigate through a city like Gotham. You would think it would be easy to find some guy running around at night in an armored spandex furry costume.
But no, here she was, in a random alley. In a city, Danny had specifically told her to avoid it unless the emergency instruction came into play. Maybe she should just steal a map.
She was contemplatingly staring at a gas station for that until she noticed a shadow jumping over the roof tops. It took her only a second to decide on her next action. Ellie was pressed on time after all.
"Hey you!" She shouted loudly flying up to follow that shadow. "Wait up!"
Thankfully, the shadow listened and stopped on the next rooftop toward her. She insanity noticed it tensing. Now, she noticed that the shadow was a kid. He looked small, and Ellie figured he was probably around 11 or 12.
"You are one of the Bees and Birds, right?" She questioned once she floated a bit closer. Also the kid tensed up.
"You mean Bats and Birds." The kid clicked his tongue at her, crossing their arms.
"Bees, Bats, who cares. My question is you know the big bad bee, right?" She waved the kid of, she had more pressing matter than getting their animals right. "I need to get a message to him."
The kid clicked their tongue once more, huffing and muttering something she couldn't hear. Probably talking to someone on a com. Either way, Ellie took his silence as a form of telling her to continue.
"Can you tell the big bad bee-" "Bat" "-the following?" She ignored the kid cutting in trying to get her message across and follow Danny's instructions to a T.
"Cassiopea is calling out to Orions Nursery before Rho dies to help her youngest."
There was long, drawn-out silence, and the kid was hissing something into coms. Ellie fidget with her finger nervously. Going through Danny's emergency instructions through her mind again until she hear a thud close to her and wirled around.
With wide blue glowing eyes, she looked up at the man dressed like a bat for a couple of seconds before taking on a defensive position. Eyes now narrowed at the man that was clearly studying her.
"I was under the impression that Phantom's youngest child was older. You appear to be no older than five."
"Yea well shit happened!" She shot back, still unsure if she could trust the man even if he mentioned Danny's hero alias. Her hands started to glow slightly as she prepared to attack in case things went back. But the man didn't appear to be phased by it. Not like the kid that was tensing up.
"You will be safe with us. But what happened to Phantom?"
Ellie eyes flicked over to the other kid that had now come closer to stand next to the bat guy before looking back to the big guy. She did not drop her stance yet. Still unsure of how much trust she can put here despite what Danny had told her, she had not yet heard the right response.
The man appeared to sense her distrust, as he kneeled to be on eye level with her. "Jupiter and Rho Cas will not be harmed. Orion gave Cassiopea his word."
Finally, Ellie relaxed, dropping her defensive stance but still watching the man with narrowed eyes. She hesitated a short moment before carefully saying her next words, hoping the man knew enough to k ow the grave meaning behind them.
"Phantom lost his haunt."

Young Old Things
I like the thought of a deaged Dan causing a misunderstanding between Danny, Vlad, and the batfam.
TW: sexual assault hinted at
....
Danny, Dan, and Ellie go to see Jazz in Gotham. They've been waiting to "visit" her for weeks since she moved out. Only waiting for her to get a big enough place for all of them. Danny already said he'd share a room with Ellie and Dan, especially now that they found out if she is her true age she'll start to stabilize more permanently with Danny's ecto. Plus, having Dan be the same size helps, or so she says (he might be desperate for a new family and Ellie is trying to help, Danny and Jazz never bring it up in front of him).
The Fenton parents don't know about Danny being Phantom, instead believing that some big ghostly event caused Danny to have a ghost daughter.
And that he tried to clone himself mixed with a ghost to use that body to stabilize her. They may be proud of their scientist son, they are not proud that he won't let them experiment on his ghostly "creations".
Of course they are entirely wrong:
Ellie is one of Vlads' attempts to clone him, the only one that survived.
And Dan is an amalgamation of Danny and Vlad from an alternate timeline. He doesn't know why he's keeping that from his parents. He owes nothing to that scumbag, but Jazz says many victims try to keep their abusers safe from facing consequences. Before Dan was deaged, and much before he met the Fenton parents, he'd pointed out that he'd be scared who his parents would have chosen to believe too.
Jazz gets a full ride scholarship with Gotham U, the Wayne's new massive donation to the psychology department, as well as her well written letter about being the head of her home, helped immensely.
She felt bad using a slightly blurred version of their story to get a good scholarship, but Danny pushed her to go for it.
Hence her, Danny and his 3 year old "twins" were at a gala for the university.
It was being held in the museum after closing hours. The invitation she got had specified that her brother was invited, each with a plus one.
They couldn't exactly get a babysitter for two super-powered toddlers in the city known for hating metas. Besides it wasn't like they had time to get dates anyway.
The night started out fine. There were scholarship students, student council members, some Gotham U staff, and a few rich folk mingling and eating tiny foods that both Ellie and Dan adored.
Ellie fell asleep in Danny's arms almost the second she'd finished eating, and Dan was overly protective of the both of them as always. Of course the dense crowd and constant noise wasn't helping calm him down.
A Wayne, he wasn't sure which one exactly, had brought Danny a plate of food and sat with him as he tried to distract Dan. At first Dan didn't care for him at all, but he mentioned reading about the constellation on Dan's shirt and he loosened up. He never let go of Danny's pant leg though.
The night turned sour when all three's ghost sense went off. There was no immediate threat, but even the Wayne kid noticed them tense and turned to the hallway.
Dan was the first to spot him. "Vad."
"Bad?" The man mimicked.
"He has trouble with his Ls."
"No! I can say Ellie." Dan huffed, poking the side of her sparkly green shoe.
"Vlad, the guy that walked in." Danny said, decidedly looking down into his daughter's sleeping face, squished into his shirt and drooling.
"Vladimir Masters?"
He nodded, before he could continue however Dan spoke up.
"He is bad. He's the reason I was born. And Ellie too." Dan put himself in front of Danny, his little legs going over Danny's feet like a guard dog.
He could see the Wayne's hands tighten into fists, he tapped the inside of his wrist a bit and watched as he squirmed in his seat.
"Hey, Tim." Another dark haired light eyed Wayne and a girl came up to them. "Who's this?"
"Danny, these are my sibilings. Dick and Cass. Guys, this is Danny."
"Hi, nice to meet you Danny. I'd shake your hand but it looks busy." He gestured towards Ellie. As his hand swept nearer, Dan tried to swipe it away. "Oh, and who's this."
"I'm Dan. You can't touch Mommy." His little face contorted into his best toddler attempt at scaring them off.
"I would never do that. No one here would." Dick said as he crouched down to be eye level with his son.
"He would." Dan pointed at Vlad, all three turned to look at the man. Before anyone else noticed, specifically Vlad himself, Danny pushed his arm down.
"Don't point, it's rude."
"He's a rude butt." Danny laughed softly and Dan continued. "It doesn't mater that I'm half of him, I'll never be evil like him." He yawned and laid his face on Danny's leg.
"I think that's enough signs that we should head home. Thank you for talking with me, Tim."
"No problem, it was m-"
Dan grabbed around Danny's legs and whined "I don't wanna gooOOOooo. I want more of the tiny hot dogs."
Danny looked up to see Vlad infront of the food table. The Wayne sibilings followed his gaze "I'm sorry buddy, but-"
Tim stood up, "I'll get you guys a whole mountain of the tiny hot dogs. Why don't you guys wait for me at the door." Ever so softly he heard Tim whisper, "Go with them." To his brother.
"Where are your things? I'll help you get ready." Dick looked around like he didn't know where the coat closet was. He'd probably been to events like this hundreds of times, but Danny appreciated the sentiment.
"Their stroller is at the entrance, I have to get my sister though."
The girl who hadn't said a word hummed and went off, "Cass can find her, I'll help you and we can meet at the entrance."
"Alright, thank you."
It wasn't until they had both kids in the stroller with their coats on and Dan had a bottle of milk (with a lot of ectoplasm in it) that Danny realized he'd never mentioned who his sister was.
Dick waved towrds the end of the hall and saw his sister and the two Waynes he'd met walking with Brucie Wayne himself.
Jazz looked down and pat Cass' hand. "Thank you for getting me."
"Danger." Her voice was soft, but she didn't seem shy like he had expected.
"All four of you seemed to get along well with my kids. Would you like to come by for dinner next week?" Brucie asked as he looked between the four of them.
"I'd love to!" Jazz said enthusiastically. "Would Tuesday ight work?"
Danny could see the gears start to speed up in her head and he huffed a little. "Jazz, I need to get them in bed."
"Right, of course. Thank you again, for everything."
"Tuesday night works perfectly," Brucie Wayne said with a massive smile on his face, "we'll send someone to pick you up. Have a good night."
With that they walked down the ramp and down a few blocks to their two bed room apartment.
"Jazz," She looked over to Danny, "I think they know more than they are letting on."
She lent over the stroller a bit to check if the kids were asleep, before adding, "I agree, I think there is something up with them, but I don't think they're bad."
"Dan was okay with them mostly, and Ellie was fast asleep even with then around."
"I guess we'll just have to find out, then. Besides, it would be good for you to make friends your age and not at the car shop."
"Yeah, alright."

PRELIMINARY ROUND - DC COMICS
Tumblr media Tumblr media
PROPAGANDA
Cassandra Cain
1.) essentially her character premise is that shes more or less an unbeatable martial artist due to the way she was raised. in the comics, she's the second batgirl and had a very popular solo series from 2000-2006. However, essentially DC editorial really didn't like that a teenage chinese girl was a better hand-to-hand fighter than batman, and so mandated that she be turned into a extremely random (also remarkably racist, as she was more or less turned in a 'dragon lady' stereotype) villain, which completely derailed and destabilized her character enough for her to almost entirely disappear from comics for the next decade. this is a far more detailed write up if wanted: https://www.reddit.com/r/HobbyDrama/comments/pdue0e/american_comicsdc_comics_the_saga_of_cassandra/
2.) Following the events of One Year Later, Cass was turned into a homicidal villain who led her own league of assassins and wanted to force Tim Drake into murdering people. This was later retconned as her being drugged, brainwashed, and manipulated by deathstroke.
3.) Literally canonically a better fighter than Batman and probably most of the DC universe. Killed one person once and because of the way she grew up (never taught to speak, learned to communicate by reading body language, in order to make her the ultimate weapon), saw what he experienced as he died and then refused to ever kill again. Had an awesome initial run… And then got hit with "evil mind control" that made her go completely OOC, depopularizing her character so much that a lot of people don't even know she exists.
Barbara Gordon
1.) Was shot as angst value for Bruce and her dad, implied to be sexually assaulted in The Killing Joke with absolutely no respect for her long career as Batgirl. When Alan Moore asked if he could, the editor said "cripple the bitch." She became paralyzed from the waist down. THankfully, an actually good writer picked her up from there and then wrote one of the best stories ever written (Oracle Year One: Born from Hope). Was one of the most iconic disabled characters in comic book history, hell, as Oracle, she was definitely up there as one of the most iconic disabled characters ever as well as a fantastic character, period. There were a few moments where people kept trying to make things out of her disability and had her be shitty to other women for no reason but for the most part, she was awesome. During her time In 2011, Dan Didio and some other misogynistic/ableist comic book writers were responsible for "curing" her disability and forcing her back into Batgirl, despite her having shown absolutely no desire to do so, as part of the New 52. They also made it an editorial mandate that she couldn't have glasses, a cool secret base, and her time as Oracle couldn't be referenced. This was because those writers were nostalgic for the 60s Batman show where Babs was played by an actress they all had the hots for and couldn't accept she'd grown up and moved on. That was bad enough, but over time, she's been increasingly deaged and reduced even further to just Dick Grayson's on and off again girlfriend and a generic girlboss. Batgirl of Burnsides burn in hell.
2.) Famously fridged in 1988, which was so popular with misogynists it became canon. After almost 2 decades of being one of the only disabled characters, was rebooted to a younger, more fun version of herself whose only history is that she was fridged but not disabled by it.
3.) The Killing Joke is one of the biggest comic examples of a female character getting hurt to motivate male characters. Also tbe way different cannons will trade off who her romantic intrest is out of Batfamily is pretty disturbing ranging from Bruce Wayne in Batman the Animated series universe (ew) to Tim Drake in the Arkham games (ew). Not to mention DC now is not letting her grow out of being Batgirl taking away her legacy of other young female heroes taking up her mantle and her getting to mentor them instead forcing her into a Batgirl cycle of purgatory when she was always better as Oracle (Its a little more complicated in the new Batgirl book but its still not solving the issues in a way that feels meaningful enough to make up the damage).

Reborn as Dan Phantom.
A fan of the show is reborn as Dan, the evil version of Danny just as he was created— but what no one knew was a fangirl had taken over the body and knew just what to do to help her family that would suffer what she just went through unless she did something to help. So— she creeped towards Clockwork, stole the time medallion, went to the timeline of the original, and immediately took over as big brother figure to help these poor children from suffering the future they would have to endure alone without adult supervision.
She— now he— didn’t care for gender, and just wanted to help and protect his new(ish) family from bad people. What he didn’t know was he was also thrown alongside the dc universe, which was an awesome discovery on his part later on.
Dan— or Dante— as he wished to be called, came to the group with sorrow in his heart as he explained what would happen in the future if Danny cheated on his test, not that it was anyone’s fault but fates. He explained how no one was at fault and it could all be avoided if he could help it.
He took over the ghost fights, and had a long talk with Clockwork about what would happen and his real purpose for being there.
His original timeline was obviously erased, and the only reason he survived was because of the medallion, so later he had to go through ghost magic and make himself his own person, gained a whole butt load of tattoos intertwined with ghost time magic and becomes the next king of the infinite realms after defeating the old guy easily after seeing him beat up his little bro.
Dante became king instead of Danny and took over all the overloaded paperwork along the way.
What he didn’t know, was that he would be summoned because of his status. He really thought the fan fictions were just exaggerating what would happen if he was ever given the position and power. Well, it was all true from what he read.
(I’m making this a Dante/King Phantom x Jason Todd/Red Hood).
He made an actual legal identity for himself with the help of Technus and Tucker, who became better pals after they set aside the fact that they attacked each other at some point or another.
Danny became a little brother to him, Jazz became his little sister who likes to treat him as if he were still Danny at times, and Danielle became his daughter.
Dante legally adopted Dani after they got his papers in order, and made her an identity as well. Elle was much younger than he remembered, but then again, she was deaged recently and just came back into contact with the group, who couldn’t take care of her because they were still children as well.
Vlad was still a little evil but leveled out after a huge diabolical involving Maddie, their so called mother.
Madeline Fenton had thought her son and daughter conspired with the ghosts and attacked them in their own home, Danny was greatly injured with multiple blast wounds and Jazz suffered a concussion while trying to push him out of the target zones.
Jack had football tackled Madeline and the rest was history.
Vlad had fallen out of love with her after seeing what she did to her own children, and instead got his head out of his butt and realized he was in love with Jack all along.
Jack divorced Madeline, took custody of his kids and decided they should move, all while Vlad made plans to take down GIW with Team Phantom.
Jack and Vlad met him and decided to emotionally adopt Dante as well in their messed up family.
Dante got a job as a mechanic and started his own business in Gotham. Very cliche from all the fanfics he read in his past life but he wanted to do something he knew and loved. He loved fixing things and his side job as the king of the infinite realms was basically being like a father to ghost children while scolding those who thought it was a good idea to attack innocent mortals.
He mainly spent his time raising Danielle. Giving her everything she deserves and making her happy now that his family was safe.
He was randomly summoned by the Justice League who were ready to full on attack him until they saw him reading to his child, not realizing he was summoned until someone cleared their throat. He was literally in his own little bubble, reading his two year old daughter a storybook while holding her against his chest as he floated above the ground, laid back in a relaxed position.
How it would go:
I looked up from the book after feeling a sudden shift in my surroundings, seeing multiple very brightly dressed people in front of me. I glared, shifting completely into my ghost king form while holding my daughter close to my chest. The storybook I was reading had disappeared into a pocket dimension for later, as I had to deal with this madness.
“Who in their right minds would summon the Ghost King? I literally burnt all those summoning books to ash.” I grumbled, and looked down to see Elle had slightly woken up at the sound of my deep voice.
“Dada?” She mumbled, rubbing her right eye as she sat up from my chest.
“It’s alright, Elle,” I rumbled, kissing her forehead as she plopped back down to take her nap again at my reassurance. “We can finish reading time later today.” I murmured to her as she went back to snoozing.
“What do you want, mortals?” I asked nonchalantly.
“Why does the ghost king have a child? And how in the hell are you not attacking us as the books state?” Zatanna asked, looking on at me in shock.
“You willingly want to be attacked after summoning me? That’s idiotic. “ I state, looking bored with their conversation. I still held Elle close, not answering their questions about my child just yet.
“No, a bloody idiot summoned you just as we defeated him as a last defense!” Constantine spat out, looking hysterical.
“Well, sorry to break the news, coward, but the last king was defeated by me after trying to take over the world, he is now locked away in forever sleep until we can find a way to get rid of him completely.” I explained to the coward looking at me in shock on the ground, bruises across his face and the usual weird looking villain costume on him.
I looked around for a quick second before stopping at the Batfam. Who were all here in a more relaxed formation seeing a child in my arms. My favorite fandom family in my last life.
I looked them over before spotting the Red Hood, my celebrity crush I had on him was no secret to my family, but they had no room to judge for themselves.
His aura admitted contaminated ectoplasm, and I knew I had to heal him sometime in the future.
“May I ask what your goals are? And who is this child?” Superman spoke up after a moment of digesting my information about my new position.
“I protect both living and the undead. I don’t have a world ending goal in mind, just to raise my daughter and give her the life she deserves.” I said, looking down at my daughter with a small smile that would be unnoticeable to most.
I looked back up to see the large group had softened at my words and I was about to ask a question about Red Hood, when my daughter suddenly decided this was taking too long and too much noise for her to take a nap.
“Dada! Where puppy?” She demanded answers, smacking the side of my face with her chubby hands, as I floated there, unmoving with an emotionless face towards the group.
“Cujo is with the twerp, remember? He will come by later for playtime.” I answered, which was slightly muffled as she squished my cheeks together and smiled at me happily.
“Dada! Fishh—“ she squealed out, looking happy with herself as she giggled at my face.
“You gremlin—“ I muttered out, tickling her sides as she squeaked, her flying out of my arms and turning into her young ghost form, looking ready to play.
“Playtime?” She asked, bouncing a little in the air, clapping her hands a little.
“Not yet, blob ghost. We need to head back home for snack time.” I explained, crossing my arms as she pouted, my arm muscles bulged a bit as I crossed them, and I still always forget the fact that I’m taller than most, alongside bigger. In my past life, I was a stick of a girl that had spaghetti arms, much different for sure.
Her pouting turned into the famous puppy eyes, and I turned back to the group to avoid them, only to see amused faces all around.
“Do you guys need anything before we head back? I’m sure you don’t want to deal with a Princess tantrum.” I rumbled out, looking on in disinterest as Elle decided to hug the side of my face like an octopus. She probably still had the puppy eyes on.
“You have an adorable daughter!” Princess Diana exclaimed soon after I was finished speaking. “How old is she?” She asked, looking at me curiously as I lowered myself to the ground, Elle now floating behind my head as she played with my low ponytail.
“She is now two years old.” I answered, swiftly nabbing Elle from behind me while reaching the back of my head. I lowered my arms to see I had her upside down now, her hanging like a sack of potatoes as she giggled.
“Dada!” Elle exclaimed, waving her arms around her in glee as she looked up at me.
“You don’t feel like a ghost completely… neither does she, what are you exactly?” Constantine asked, waving his hand at me in confusion.
“I don’t know if I can trust you with that information, Constantine.” I growled a little, glaring at him as he stepped forward while Elle hid behind me.
“Hey now! Let’s calm down, no one needs to start anything!” Nightwing stepped in front of the glaring Constantine who looked more and more like a bug the longer I looked at him.
“There isn’t anything to start, really. His soul is in shreds at the moment, not very powerful compared to my kind anyway.” I stated, crossing my arms once again as Elle peaked out from over my shoulder.
“Now, I need to speak with a Mr. Red Hood.” I said, looking on at the Batfam who tensed at my words.
“Why?” Batman growled out, stepping in front of the confused Red Hood.
“To heal him, of course.” I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose as I heard sounds of confusion from everyone else.
“His ectoplasm is very corrupted. He has the ghost flu, in which case makes my kind very moody and in need of pure ectoplasm to filter it and his emotions.” I briefly explained, unpinching my nose as I looked up from the ground. Willing my headache away for now.
“So his pit madness is basically the ghost flu?” Red Robin murmurs out hysterically, almost giggling in disbelief.
“Yes, I have heard of his haunt, Crime Alley, that being under his protection, I have never stepped foot on his property because I didn’t want to seem like a threat to a sick person who can’t control themselves completely with such a sickness.” I explained myself a bit nervously, rubbing the back of my neck a little with my right hand as Elle now sat on my left shoulder, swinging her legs.
“Wow, the ghost king is a dork…” I heard Spoiler mutter to Orphan, who nodded in agreement.
I huffed, crossing my arms and floated once again. “I can come back another time. I just wished to help a little. My doctor can probably fix him quicker than I, but I know what to do as I have studied under him for more than over a year now.” I informed them.
“So the pit madness can go away…?” Red Hood asked, stepping from around Batman to speak to me clearly.
“I’m unsure of what this “Pit Madness” is, but yes, I can heal you and make sure you properly get the help you need from your emotional roller coaster sickness.” I said, looking down at him as he took a few more steps to me, his family following behind him.
“Well, when can you fix me?” He asked, his voice modifier cutting all emotions from his voice, but I can clearly feel his emotions bursting from his almost formed core. It seems this sickness had stopped him from forming his core completely and left him sick for many years.
I could feel his hope, his rage and especially his bursts of want for some reason.
“I can fix you right now, but I wasn’t sure if you wanted privacy or not. It’s very…. Intimate. I can take you somewhere private if you would like?” I rumbled out, the burst of want came out more clearly, and I could tell Red Hood was clearly not expecting that word choice.
“Take me anytime—“ I could clearly hear his muttered out answer behind his helmet with my enhanced hearing, but I don’t know if I was supposed to hear that.
“Nope! Little Wing— you are not going with the ghost king—“ Nightwing suddenly yelled out, the whites of his mask bigger as Spoiler, Red Robin, and Signal burst into loud laughter. Batman sighed loudly in disappointment. Robin just “Tt” and sighed alongside his father, looking like a mini bat. Orphan just smiled at me.
“By intimate, I mean having a look at your soul, I will essentially have to take a closer look at that and cure you.” I fixed my words, making it seem as if I didn’t hear anything and I could feel a little disappointment coming from Red Hood but he nodded at my explanation.

Saw a post about Danny calling Dani his little Comet, this one, and then I had an idea to and mix it with a favourite Hozier song, Work Song. Feel free to add or whatever if it strikes you!
-
"Ah, shh, shh little Comet, it's ok, I've got you."
The attempt at keeping his voice steady didn't really work, but he was sure he was keeping a good hold on his emotions at least, since Ellie was calming down in his hold. It didn't mean he wasn't panicking inside at the situation but he was managing. He only had to make it a few more weeks before the others could come, then everything would be safe.
He got her settled in his bed, sleeping and calm now. He had a crib for her, and Jordan too eventually, but he couldn't really stand the thought of them to far. So bed it was.
Both clone and future self had been deaged due to the damage taken, done at Frostbite's direction to heal and better stabilise both. Jordan's injuries had come in defence of both him and Ellie, and, like a weird mirror, Ellie's from defending him and the injured Jordan when he was to weakened from injuries to fight. Ellie had just been deaged from it Dan, who he decided was going to be called Jordan too give himself some separateness, was reverted to his core. In an effort to protect and give him time to heal, he has him inside himself, next to his own core. He'd been warned it meant that Dan would likely take on more of being like his child than his future self, but he just wanted him alive, not like he didn't have the risk of it anyway, at least this time it was under his control.
There was no hope of returning to his dimension, it had been clear at that point, but they had been trying to free all the ghosts they could and get all liminal people and their family rounded up to safety before the GIW got to them. Danny, as the heir prince-until he was of age for the throne at 100-was sent ahead to bridge trust with another dimension, this one in fact, to see it they could bring their people, his people, there.
Clockwork and the Ancients and Observants worked with his parents and the others from town, and other liminality touched people, to get everyone into the ghost zone, which he had leaned also got called the Infinite Realms, safely and cut off that dimension from it.
Apparently that's what most magical creatures had done to that one anyway, long ago. He'd even met the descendents of the witches that had been hunted by, and thus placed the curse on, his family back when Amity was a village.
They'd lifted the, severely weakened by then but still present, curse after apologies were made and explanations done. It was a relief, even though it is likely what had even held him tethered to life enough to become a halfa at all, but he felt more at ease now without it.
All in all, it led him to where he was now though. A new world, a new set of rules, similar but still so different, and two kids that were essentially his.
The sudden crash outside his window on the alley side had him rushing over, ready to defend as best he could, still healing from the injuries in the last fight with the GIW, in case it was a villain attacking.
Only to pause at the sight of the, now likely unconscious, blue and black clad vigilante in the dumpster below.
"Fuck... Well can't leave him, who knows who'd find him there."
It took a bit of work, and mild use of his weak but still present powers, but he got him up stairs and into his apartment onto the, comfortable if he said so himself, couch.
Once there, he checked him over for injuries, careful not to take the domino off and keeping him as clothed as possible, but tending to his wounds as best possible. Doing so, he realised the other was probably only about 20-21, close to his age at least. It made him wonder how long the other had been a hero, and made a thought to ask later.
For now he settled in to make some food -that hopefully wouldn't accidentally come alive again-and keep an eye on his daughter and the hero.

if we're doing batpham stuff i have to share the terrible but hilarious au in my head
dark danny/dan is "redeemed" kinda , (clockwork made him half human again and he's feeling things in a way that he hasn't since he merged with vlad and he hates it)
anyways things go badly
maybe bad parents maddie and jack but also could be dead protecting their 4 kids and their liminal friends
dan, jazz, danny, ellie, tucker, sam and valerie get to the ghost zone
clockwork being both super powerful and super unhelpful drops them into the gotham of another universe without so much as a by your leave and deages then
dan's 18/19, jazz is 13, danny, ellie, sam, tucker, and valerie are all 8
which you know is already stressful but apparently deageing doesn't make any of them any more human then they were before the deageing
so here dan is still half ghost (unsurprising bc he got those powers at 13 him still having them makes sense)
jazz is an empath (being 13 is bad enough without the ability to feel other ppls emotions dan actually feels really bad for her)
valerie still has her ecto-exoskeleton (which he didn't realize until val fell off a building and holy shit was that terrifying)
sam has the plant powers being possessed by undergrowth gave her (looks like that joke he made back when he was danny about her being an eco-terrorist isn't going to be a joke anymore)
tucker has magic still (gods dan wants to cry, he loved tuck like a brother but the boy had shit self control when he was 18 who thought giving him magic at 8 was a good idea)
and danny and ellie are both still half ghost (which holy fuck dan realizes that there's no anti-ecto laws in this world but child trafficking is still a thing and these brats are powerful !)
anyways they're making due
they found a place to squat in the ally there's a lot of theft happing with dan's ghost powers
right up until jason finds dan standing over joker's dead body with a gaggle of brats behind him
and jason always figured that he'd fall for whoever killed the joker he just figured it have less dramatics then one of his novels
I love everything about this

dp x blue exorcist
satan is actually Dan from a universe where Danny didn’t succeed in defeating him. Clockworks going through the timelines, checking for anomalies and the like and he… just… goes…oops. The Dan that was defeated and somewhat rehabilitated, Danny, and Dani are like ‘’oops’?what ‘oops’?what do you mean by ‘oops’?’ And then our favorite dumbasses and their support group get an all expenses paid trip to deal with the fuckery of satan!dans children ( that is including Rin and Yukio, cause they need all the help jazz is oh so willing to give). They’re deaged to rin and yukio’s age (except Dani she’s little)(otherwise known as adoptable age). Shiro looks at them and says is anyone going to parent these children and does not wait for an answer. Dani is trolling Mephisto and Amaimon so hard, like ‘baby brothers’ and Mephisto is just rolling with it. And Gehenna is the ghost zone where someone was able to get a last ditch wish to Desiree to lock down the ghost zone. Coal tars are blob ghosts that have been corrupted from having a corrupted king. Satan!Dans kids are the results of separating out the abilities he got from eating other ghosts, Mephisto is clockwork’s abilities, amaimon=undergrowth and so forth.
bonus if we have a bit of crossover with Constantine, who was somewhat parenting those kids, travels over to where the kids are, looks at shiro and Mephisto and says ‘I role to seduce’
Mephisto by dating the parent(s) of his (deaged)parent ‘I’m my own grandpa’
bonus bonus the male presenting dannys have a type( have both dated and/or married members of the batclan)and they here about yuri and how people describe her, look at each and wonder that they usually go for a louder and more aggressive competency than hers. Cue batkid(s) wondering where their so is, clockwork showing up asking ‘you want to know?you really want to know?’ And forgetting how much of a manipulator the Dannys said clockwork was, replied yes and so we have deaged batkid(s) running around with shura, looking for their trouble magnet plushy, ( I love dead on main, defying gravity, and dead serious. Any combination of Dan, Danny, Jason and dick are fine. Danny/Damian or Dani/Damian.) so we’d have dick(appearances are deceiving, the most unhinged bat child), Jason (if I can’t shoot it a tire iron works), and damian( if it is not sharp, what is the point?).
and I completely derailed at the end there.

🐣Would work perfectly for the deaged aus! (Stan and Ford pls?)
🐣 - phoenix
Okay, a bit of explanation: I came up with a scenario, where Stan and Ford, after somehow reconciling instead of fighting in 1982, work together to shut down the portal for good.  As thanks for protecting Gravity Falls from such an evil, the local phoenix blesses the two of them.  Unfortunately, a phoenix blessing results in complete reversion to being a newborn infant; a complete blank slate, being reborn, like the phoenix is.  This (apparently omnipotent) phoenix dropped them off at Fiddleford’s house, since Fiddleford knew Ford.  However, that’s not where the twins actually end up.  I think the writing should fill in the rest of the blanks.  Some of it’s under a cut bc boy it got LONG.
Send me an emoji and I’ll write you a ficlet!
Dan Corduroy was in the middleof whittling a chipmunk from a chunk of cedar when he heard a knock on thefront door.  He set down the partiallycarved rodent with a small frown.
There’s a blizzard.  Who the hellis outside in this weather?  Danstood and walked over to the door.  Whenhe opened it, he was hit with a burst of cold air.  He looked around.  There was no one there.  His ears picked up on a faintwhimpering.  He looked down.  There was a basket on the doorstep, just infront of his feet.  Its contents werecovered by a blanket.  Dan crouched downand carefully picked up a corner of the blanket.  His eyes widened.  The whimpering had come from two infants, which were nestled together in the basket. Dan swallowed.
I better bring ‘em in.  He pickedup the basket and brought it inside.  Nowthey were in a warm environment, Dan took the blanket off the babies.  Dressed in matching red onesies, they peeredup at him.  The one on the left had apiece of paper stuck to its chest.  Danreached out to take the paper, and was immediately grabbed by the infant.  He tried to free himself, but the baby clungto him determinedly.  Dan accepted defeatwith a small chuckle.
“You’re a TOUGH one, huh?” herumbled, picking up the infant.  The babynestled against his chest and closed its eyes. Dan detached the paper and read it.
—–
               DanCorduroy,
Thesetwin boys were left in my charge.  But Ican’t take care of them in my state.  Theyhave no parents, siblings, or other relatives. They are all alone.
Thesystem wouldn’t suit them, I can tell. There’s something special about them. They deserve a shot at life, one that I believe they could only have ifyou took care of them.
You’re agood man, and while you are young, I know these boys will be safe under yourroof.  Raise them as your own, or assomeone else’s.  But don’t let them getseparated, and don’t let them leave Gravity Falls, where I can keep an eye onthem.
Their namesare Stanley and Stanford.  As far as I’mconcerned, they’re Corduroy boys now.
               Godspeed.
               -F
—–
Dan finished reading the letter,a strange tight feeling in his chest. The infant he was holding made a smacking sound with his lips.  The one left in the basket was still staringat him.
“Dunno if you two are CORDUROYmaterial,” Dan told the babies.  The onein the basket blinked slowly at him.  Danfelt a small smile quirk his lips.
Dan, don’t jump into this.  You’rebarely old enough to buy beer.  You livewith your big brother.  Can you really bea dad?  He thought about what theletter said.  “As far as I’m concerned, they’re Corduroy boys now.”
“THINK you can HANDLE it?” Danasked the babies.  The one he was holdingmade a small noise.  The one in thebasket blinked again.  “EH.  WHAT the hell.  Boys, let’s GET you some FOOD.”
—–
               A fight.
               Reconciliation.
               Fire.  So much fire.
Stanley Corduroy woke with agasp, his heart pounding in his ears, and a bird’s cry still echoing in hismind.
“Lee?  You all right?” a groggy voice asked.  Lee looked over at the other bed in theroom.  His twin brother was rubbing hiseyes blearily.
“Uh, yeah, Ford, I thinkso.  Just that nightmare again.”
“Careful.  You keep losing sleep like that, you won’tqualify for finals.”
“Pfft,” Lee scoffed.  “I can win those lumberjack competitions withmy eyes closed and two hands tied behind my back.”  There was loud knocking at the door.  “Yeah?” The door opened.  Manly DanCorduroy poked his head in, splintering part of the doorframe as he did so.
“About TIME you boys gotUP.  Someone’s here to SEE you.”
“What?  Who?” Ford asked.  Dan shrugged, breaking more of thedoorframe.  Ford sighed.  “Dad, you’re doing it again.”
               “OH.  It’s the Corduroy SHOULDERS.”
“Yeah.  And I’m glad I didn’t get ‘em,” Lee said, getting out of bed.  A strange expressioncrossed Dan’s face.  “Something wrong,Dad?”
“Uh, NO.  Just get READY.  This guy’s some CITY folk.  REALLY wants to TALK to you.”
“City folk?” Ford said.  “Why would some city guy come out here totalk to us?”
“Get DRESSED and we’ll all FINDout,” Dan rumbled, closing the twins’ bedroom door.  They could hear wood splintering as he walkedaway.
“Good thing you’re good atwoodworking, huh, bro?” Lee asked Ford teasingly.  Ford sighed.
“Shut up.”  Lee sniggered.  “Let’s just get dressed and figure out whatthis guy wants from us.”
Ten minutes later, Lee and Fordwalked into the living room, playfully shoving each other and laughing.
“Holy Moses,” a low voicesaid.  Lee and Ford looked over.  Sitting on the couch next to their stepmomwas the “city folk”.  He had a squarejaw, brown hair, and a large ruddy nose that the twins recognizedimmediately.  The stranger smiled at themweakly.  “Wow.  You two look…look just like them.”
“Just like who?” Ford asked, sitting on the armchair across from the couch. Lee perched himself on its arm.
“Your, ah, your father anduncle,” the stranger answered, his eyes suddenly teary.  Lee snorted.
“Yeah, sure, we definitely look like Dad.  We’re totallybroad-shouldered redheads with loud voices,” Lee said sarcastically.
“WHAT do you MEAN, LOUD VOICE?”Dan asked from the adjacent kitchen. 16-month-old Wendy, sitting in her high chair, giggled.
“Dad.  We have to wear ear plugs when you sing inthe shower,” Lee said.  Dan grumbledindistinctly and returned to frying a large amount of bacon for breakfast.
“No, I- Dan, you didn’t tellthem?” the stranger said.  Dan froze fora split second before shrugging.
               “Never came up.”
“‘Never came up’?  They’re fifteen and you’ve never bothered totell them they were adopted?” the stranger demanded.  Ford froze.
“Whoa, whoa, hey!” Lee shouted, jumping up.  “Look, guy, I don’t know whoyou are or why you’re here, but you don’t have the right to lie and say we’readopted!”  He looked over at Dan.  “Tell ‘im, Dad!”
“He’s telling the truth,” Dansaid, in an uncharacteristically subdued voice. Lee deflated.
               “What?”
“As I understand it, you twowere left on Dan’s doorstep shortly after you were born,” the strangersaid.  “He took you in, raised you likehis own sons.”
“No,” Ford whispered.  Lee puffed up again.
               “Who are you?” Lee demanded.
“I’m your father’s olderbrother.  Sherman Pines.  But you can call me your Uncle Shermie.”
“Not gonna happen,” Lee muttered, crossing his arms.
“You- you know our biological father?”Ford asked quietly.  Shermie nodded.
“Yes.  I actually- I think it’s interesting, thatyou two were named the same as your father and uncle.  Which one of you is Stanford?” Shermieasked.  Ford raised a six-fingeredhand.  A sad look crossed Shermie’sface.  “Down to the twelve fingers, even.”
“That weird SCIENTIST that livedup the WAY, HE had twelve fingers,” Dan said. He shrugged.  “Thought IT wasFUNNY this baby did too.  PAPER said one ofthe boys was named STANFORD, so I sorta NAMED him after that SCIENTIST.”
“Appropriate, given that the ‘weirdscientist’ is actually these boys’ uncle,” Shermie said.  “Lee and Ford, you are my younger brotherStanley’s children.  I don’t know whoyour mother is; Fiddleford didn’t know.”
“Fiddleford?” Ford said.  He frowned. “Mr. McGucket?”
“Yes.  Apparently, he was the person who dropped youtwo off here.  The two of you were leftat his house, at first, but he wasn’t mentally capable of raising two infants,so he left you with someone he trusted, and someone your Uncle Stanfordtrusted,” Shermie explained.  He dug apiece of paper out of his pocket.  “Thisnote was left when Fiddleford found you.” Lee took the paper from Shermie. He and Ford read it together.
—–
               F,
I haveto leave unexpectedly.  I trust you totake care of my nephews.  My twin brotherStanley’s children.  They were given tome by their mother, who was unable to track Stanley down.  I plan on finding Stanley myself, to ensurethese boys have their father.  In themeantime, protect them.
I willreturn when I find Stan.
               Thankyou,
               StanfordPines
—–
Ford and Lee finished readingthe letter.  They looked up at Shermie, identical upset expressions on their faces. Shermie smiled hesitantly.
“I know this is a lot to takein.  But I had to meet my nephews.  And I thought you’d want to meet your uncle.”  Ford and Lee continued to stare at him.  Shermie stood up with a sigh.  “I’ll be in town for a few days, if you wouldlike to meet up later.  I really wouldlike to get to know you two.”
“Uh, yeah,” Ford stammered.  “We’ll- we’ll be in touch.”  Shermie looked at the twins hopefully.
               “You will?”
“Yeah,” Lee said firmly.  He smiled. “We will.”

PROPAGANDA
KATHERINA MINOLA (THE TAMING OF THE SHREW) (CW: Domestic Abuse)
1.) We had to read this for English my senior year. I got so mad at the way she's treated. She's the titular "shrew" of the play. She has to be married off before her younger sister can get married, because that makes sense.
Then the most dogshit man imaginable comes along, and everybody thinks they're perfect. He literally gaslights her and denies her food and water.
Fuck Petruchio and Katherine Minola deserved better!
2.) Literally the whole play is about how she is so awful that the main guy needs to change her entire personality, which he does as a challenge not because he likes her, and then proceeds to her abuse her for the rest of the play. Yet, he is portrayed as the hero, not a villain and she is shown to have "improved" at the end. People will say, oh it's open to interpretation, it can be played different ways, it's satire, but i don't find abuse funny and there is a distinct lack of commentary in the play to count as satire imo. Taming of the Shrew is a tragedy not a comedy, I will die on this hill. Kate deserves better!
3.) The title isn’t joking, ya’ll. She literally gets broken like a rebellious feral animal and it’s treated as a happy ending.
BARBARARA GORDON (DC COMICS) (CW: Ableism)
1.) Famously fridged in 1988, which was so popular with misogynists it became canon. After almost 2 decades of being one of the only disabled characters, was rebooted to a younger, more fun version of herself whose only history is that she was fridged but not disabled by it.
2.) The Killing Joke is one of the biggest comic examples of a female character getting hurt to motivate male characters.
3.) Was shot as angst value for Bruce and her dad, implied to be sexually assaulted in The Killing Joke with absolutely no respect for her long career as Batgirl.

Just so you know, I find your deaged phoenix ficlet amazing. I love the story, and there's so much love between the characters, yet there's so much to be sad about with Stan and Ford not knowing their past lives or the people that were missing in their lives.
Thanks, Anon!  And yeah, there’s some sad, with Stan and Ford just disappearing (even though they actually didn’t).  But I think there’s more happiness.  Like, one of the thoughts I had was for this to be set in 2012, and that would have been way more sad, with Dipper and Mabel and Soos and everyone who loved the Stans losing them, and losing them in a way that they are there, but not really.  ...If that makes sense.
But with the way I wrote it, the Stans get to start over, and get raised in a loving, rambunctious family.  They get the support they didn’t get in their previous lives, and after Shermie finds them, Lee and Ford Corduroy get to meet the rest of the Pines family.  It’s not a perfect situation, and Shermie does essentially lose his brothers, but I consider this more of a “fix-it” scenario than an angst one.
Eventually, I might write more for this AU (which I’m just gonna go ahead and call the Phoenix AU bc it’s easy), since I’m a sucker for de-aged scenarios, and I get invested in just about everything I write.  But for now, here’s some random details about the AU:
Manly Dan nicknames the Stans “Lee” and “Ford” bc he doesn’t think it makes sense to call either one “Stan” if you’re trying to tell them apart; that’s the part of their names they have in common.
Lee and Ford Corduroy are told that they’re from a relationship Manly Dan had with an old girlfriend, who ended up skipping town.  Dan tells them that there’s no point in trying to track her down; she doesn’t deserve to get to know her sons.
Lee and Ford are around ten when Manly Dan starts dating the future Mrs. Corduroy.  She’s the only girlfriend of his that can handle the twin boys, and the only one that doesn’t care he’s got two kids already.  Lee and Ford like her.
By the time the youngest Corduroy boy is born, Lee and Ford are twenty-two.  The huge age gap just makes the younger Corduroys look up to the twins more, and the twins spoil the younger Corduroys more.
Lee and Ford both go to college; Manly Dan insisted on it.  They don’t go to the same college, but they both get degrees.  Lee moves back to Gravity Falls before Ford does, and bounces between jobs before following in his Dad’s footsteps and being a lumberjack.
When Ford moves back to Gravity Falls, he and Lee build a house for the two of them to share.  Ford does research, and Lee sets up a part-time souvenir store, with trinkets he and Ford make themselves.
Mabel and Dipper do visit in the summer of 2012, bc they know Lee and Ford are their relatives.  By that time, Lee’s been a lot of relationships, but none of them lasted, and he has a four-year-old daughter and an infant son, with shared custody with both of the kids’ moms.  Mabel tries to set him up in a relationship that lasts.  She may or may not be successful.
During Dipper and Mabel’s visit, through a series of strange events, the truth about Lee and Ford is discovered, and the thirty-year-old twins accidentally gain access to their former selves’ memories.  It’s not pretty.
Btw if anyone likes this AU enough that they get inspired, by all means, do something with it.  Write or draw or whatever.  I might eventually get to writing something else for this, but that’d be a bit of a ways off.
