Honestly tho, this is years off, probably more than a decade, but I hope just because we're getting a Kalosian Legends game, that they don't skimp out on giving Kalos an actually GOOD remake when the time comes.

Especially as far as Team Flare-centric characters go. They had the most potential as a villain team, and XY dropped the ball so bad with them, I would hate for a BDSP-esque remake to do the same. No joke, these guys were most of the reason I wanted Z back in Gen6.

Like, Lysandre is pretty much at the forefront of Kalos' tech and communication, and is a very influential person there, they could do something with Malva running cover-ups for Flare in the news media, the entire organization is probably full of politically powerful people given the wealth of their members (Kalos could be quite corrupt for all we know), they have this secret stranglehold on the region, and it's scary, like no one in Kalos really had any idea how fucked they were until it was (almost) too late. Even the Champion was likely completely in the dark, their strongest line of defense was a total no-show, even when the Ultimate Weapon had been raised.

We can definitely pin that on Malva tho, since she keeps all of Kalos in the dark with her job in the news media, and as a mole in the E4, she likely keeps any sensitive information from Diantha too. And she gets away with ALL OF IT. Diantha never even knows, like even as far as Masters, she doesn't seem to be aware of Malva's true allegiance. And Malva never shows any regret or anything for what she did, she tries to justify it. She's even actively hostile to the player for taking them down, and routinely threatens to burn them up where they stand. (And this is before she becomes an accessory to murder in Masters, like, this woman smiles as Lysandre prepares to have Volcanion flash-boil a couple Rocket grunts. What is wrong with her.)

Even the grunts, they're essentially a genocidal secret police of elitist fuckheads who don't give a single flying shit about throwing everyone else under the bus so long as they survive, listening in on Holocaster conversations and having some implicit plainclothes agents (showcased more in Masters tho), and given how wealthy the organization is, it would be very easy for them to make problem people disappear. Imagine if they played up that paranoia factor they have, like, you're on their radar getting into battles with them and interfering with their plans on the regular, Lysandre calls you at multiple points (and definitely knows you're the one causing trouble before the player character finds out he's their leader), you're definitely not safe.

Also, it would have been neat if Sycamore had been in on it too somehow, maybe a joint leadership with Lysandre or something with how he plays off the man's blatant bloodlust as just him being "passionate"? I was side-eyeing him my entire first playthru. But even tho that turned out to not be the case, it would have been cool if one of them tried to save the other, be it Lysandre kidnapping Sycamore to try to spare his friend from the culling, or Sycamore joining you on the front lines to try to talk some sense into his friend. It was such an interesting dynamic at the time, and it was always such a waste it barely got any development. (At least Masters and Evolutions have made steps to fix that complaint since, but still.)

Outside of frenchflagshipping whats your take on diantha and lysandres relationship ?

hello anonymous i'm sorry for taking a little bit to reply i was Thinking about it (and also busy with other things)

we don't have a lot of interactions between lysandre and diantha sadly but to me the main vibe i get from them is that she would be a lot less willing to put up with his shit than augustine is. he is AWFUL to her in the café soleil scene – the way he's passive-agressively praising her while at the same time undermining her is like. textbook casual misogyny and she does clap back in ways that augustine obviously doesn't.

lysandre's relationship with women is fascinating to me bc he's the team leader with the most high-ranking women on his team (hell, if you count malva he has 5 high-ranking women for 1 high-ranking man) and team flare is also the only team with gender neutral outfits for the grunts, but also the one on-screen interaction he has with a female character is That.

in pokémas diantha is so clearly like. Over Him. like i definitely get the impression that if augustine wasn't around to plead for him and hold her back she would be first in line to fuck him up once and for all LOL so without augustine in the equation i do think she would take a loooong time to come around. i think they could have a cordial relationship but lysandre definitely would keep fucking it up by being Like That

i do think lysandre sees her as a chosen one but it's very Telling that he focuses on her being a beautiful actress rather than on her being the Champion (realistically you could argue that him not mentioning that is so that her being the Champion is kept a surprise for the player but i'm going for the watsonian reading here) as a tangent, i also think it's interesting that a lot of augustine/lysandre fanfic focuses on lysandre seeing augustine as chosen not just bc he's a pokémon professor but bc he finds him beautiful – it makes sense irt his character motivations but it's not really something that's like. textual. while it is textual for diantha bc she's a woman and you know

ofc it's not just all about beauty for him – she's also passionate and dedicated to her craft. she's giving all of herself bc acting is all about giving and turning yourself into a spectacle for others which are things lysandre also aspires to. so basically i guess my take is that he really likes and admires her (the same way he does with augustine and how he's giving a lot of himself thru being a pokémon professor as well) but he's absolutely fucking godawful at expressing it. obviously whether the takeaway you're supposed to get from it is that he doesn't care or that he's just bad at being tactful is up to you (for me i think it's a bit of both, honestly)

lysandre 100% would benefit from having someone around who thinks he's full of shit and doesn't put up with what he's saying and doing no matter how well he says or does it so someone like diantha who's like "you are a weirdo and your vibes are rancid" to his face would only help him better himself 👍

Continuing the saga of Ash beating trainers he absolutely shouldn't have beaten, we turned Cynthia from incredible veteran tactician to complete moron over the course of one episode.

Seriously, what logical reason can you come up with for Sinnoh Champion Cynthia, who is familiar with Ash and has seen him Mega Evolve Lucario to beat Raihan, seen him beat Steven and Tobias' Darkrai and then underestimate him? There's also no logical reason for her to bring out her main Garchomp twice against Dracovish and Sirfetch'd when she had Togekiss and Milotic in the wings who both have super-effective moves against those two, but we had to sell the 'tension' as if her fate wasn't sealed when she made the ridiculous decision to Dynamax Togekiss against a Lucario she knows can Mega Evolve and has some daft hikari no willpower Aura Sphere (because Cynthia couldn't possibly have a close bond to her pokémon like Ash does) and now Adaptability to stack onto its super effective Bullet Punch and then spam Max Airstream for all 3 turns (one of which Lucario can dodge for some reason) before then trying Sky Attack, the move that takes time to charge and leaves you open for attack, all instead of just mega evolving her Garchomp who doesn't have a type weakness to Lucario. Seriously though, Garchomp and Togekiss didn't even get to use one super effective move on Lucario, even though every game iteration of Cynthia's Togekiss knows Aura Sphere and the anime has had Garchomp use Dig and Brick Break before, but Cynthia - the learned veteran champion who knows Ash has a Lucario - doesn't opt to teach or use those moves? Unlikely.

I'm also sick of Ash's Pokémon bypassing damaging attacks; Dracovish while poisoned can run through a STAB Leaf Storm, Sirfetch'd can run through a Super Effective Disarming Voice, Pikachu can just avoid Earth Power because a rock appears underneath it so it can platform in the air and ignore gravity for 3 hits so it can Iron Tail some rocks Gastrodon still catches but apparently that's enough for Pikachu to Quick Attack through and KO Gastrodon's defenses in effectively 1-hit KO Gastrodon even though the attack was cushioned by 2 boulders. And of course Lucario can just Bullet Punch away Scale Shots and Air Slashes and Aura Sphere a Max Airstream, I don't think it was even affected by Garchomp's Rough Skin ability either. And the consolation for Cynthia fans are that she's not actually quitting after her main champion team lost to a team Ash trained this series, not even his biggest big guns, and he only used 1 strategic type advantage selection - since Dracovish never tried Ice Fang on Garchomp or Roserade - what a farce, losing to Ash already kills any credibility Cynthia has in the future because if she even looks like a threat we already know Ash can beat her.

It pisses me off really, because we sacrificed so many former characters of high credibility - and also Iris - just to push Ash vs Leon when frankly if they just did the same old formula of using rival trainers and Galar gym leaders we'd have the same amount of hype, all we've done is made Alain, Diantha, Cynthia, Steven, Wallace and Lance look like novice trainers. And now instead of immediately going to the final we get another gap of padding so this series can make its episode limit. An let's be honest, in reality Ash should be thwomped by Leon but he's gonna somehow get Leon down to Charizard as his last Pokémon, where we'll have Ash wipe out most of his other 5 like he's never even trained them before. The same old shit that the writers never actually change even though that's one of the parts that's been broken a long time in this anime. Win or Lose Ash vs Leon has ruined several champions this series, but I still hope Ash loses, I mean if it was me I'd have him be absolutely humbled but we know that's not gonna happen, because if Ash's story is gonna end I'd rather it get done right, and Journeys has been all wrong.

Thinking about my knight au I drew for pokémon ship week.

So Cynthia is basically Giratina’s host, but technically it should’ve been Volo, who basically just picked up Cynthia, dragged her to hell and told giratina “yeah that’s your new host now bye”, which left Volo able to leave the distortion world and do some evil shit or something (maybe haunt dawn who knows). Since being bonded to giratina is arceus’s punishment for Volo, he had to find a descendant of his that was close enough to him appearance and genetic wise in order to trick Arceus into thinking that Volo was still with Giratina (which wasn’t hard considering arceus probably forgot about volo). And unfortunately Cynthia fits the bill.

I think that a confrontation between cyn and dia could go down too (likely when they’re on their ‘Diantha time to meet your destiny and beat up giratina’ expedition) . Maybe when Diantha sees Cynthia coughing up antimatter (which she’s never seen but Cynthia has been dealing with that for a while). It leads to an argument, where Cynthia reveals she’s bonded to giratina, and she yells “you know what? Fuck it. I’ll make it easier for you to meet your bullshit destiny” to which Diantha is still silent since she’s still processing what Cynthia said. Cynthia continues with “defeat me, lady Diantha. I’m right here”. At this point it gets dramatic and giratina’s shadow is hovering over them. Then the dramatic moment gets cut short as Cynthia has another coughing fit (Gira is looking concerned). Diantha goes “No.. I can’t. Just- give me a moment” and walks away to think about what happened in the past hour or so.

Sometime later Cyn and Dia are talking and basically deduct that Cynthia probably isn’t the evil that diantha’s prophecy was talking about, and it was likely volo instead (it is). Their reasoning was that since Cynthia only got unexpectedly bonded to giratina about a decade ago, and this prophecy was hundreds of years old, it likely couldn’t be Cynthia.

Cynthia also has a lot of issues with Arceus. Before she was bonded to giratina, she used to believe wholeheartedly in Arceus, even wanting to meet it (not on the same level as Volo. It was more of a ‘what if’ thing). It was common for those from Celestic town to believe in Arceus, so Cynthia grew up believing in it. After bonding with Gira, she started resenting it, believing that this was Arceus’s doing. It kind of wasn’t, but she mostly wanted someone to blame. Cynthia absolutely despises white and gold color combos and prefers black and gold.

Used to be really shy as a kid

he loved exploring new places but hated people

as an adult he’s still not the biggest fan of a huge crowd, but he’ll put on a smile and attempt to make conversation

he just perfers smaller hangouts with close friends (and I can’t blame the guy for that)

Metagross was his first pokemon

his dad got him a Beldum as a kid

A shiny one! I love that they gave him a shiny metagross in the anime, so like, I’m going with that one lol

He became champion at a ridicioulusly young age, he was 12

a lot of people used to think he just got handed the title, or his father payed the league to make him a champion, eventually he managed to prove that he earned the title himself

Childhood friends with Wallace, Lance & Cynthia

except he didn’t meet them at the same time

He met Wallace during his journey through Hoenn, when he was 10 and Wallace was 11

He just happened to run into a kid with a feebas, they seemed to be training

Wallace told him about contests, Steven seemed slightly interested but when asked if he wanted to join he quickly refused

those two would run into each other more often throughout their journeys, becoming closer each time

He met Lance first as a kid, he was 10 and Lance was 12

They became rivals/friends quickly

They weren’t together often, with both of them being from different regions

but when they were they’d get into a lot of trouble together

When Steven became champion Lance already had his title, so his friend helped him out a lot

He met Cynthia when they were both 13

He was a bit intimidated by her at first

especially since she didn’t open up to him quickly

but they soon became close friends and rivals

He was ecstatic when those two became champions of Kanto/Johto and Sinnoh

They became a trio soon after

Sucks at naming pokemon, like actually sucks at it, it’s why he doesn’t name them lol

His pokemon do have nicknames, but they were named by friends, by which I mean Wallace, just Wallace

except Metagross, that’s the only pokemon Steven nicknamed himself

Honestly at the time of writing this I still haven’t figured out a nickname yet, I was thinking Osmi, short for Osmium, I just like the way it sounds lol 

Also Osmium is a type of metal, so like, it fits :)

I’m gonna say this now, since I’m about to talk about ships, but I’m not an originshipper, sorry :P

He can spend hours at a time in his home office studying geology

he will be so occupied with it he will forget to take care of himself, because rocks are more important

The others have made it a thing to barge in and drag him out of there from time to time

or like, at least call him to remind him to drink water instead of playing with rocks 24/7

What I will say about Steven & Robin’s relationship is that he’s a bit of a mentor to them

So if it isn't confirmed in the story, it isn't canon, as far as Lily is concerned. At face value, I kind of get this idea and to some degree support the notion of the writers getting their point across in the story itself. However, if you apply this to Lily, there's so much shit in Poke-Madhouse alone that "isn't canon" because it was never confirmed in the story: sexuality of the characters, Syir's abuse of Diantha, etc.

The same applies to TSR as well.

Lily only benefits from this idea. Not to say she's wrong, but it isn't hard to see a self serving angle to it.

Because i think it's fun and i'm already thinking about it and i NEED to make a chart for it eventually here's a list of how silva knows all my pokemon muses </3 this only applies to my own interps of muses obv, basically this is if i wrote a fanfic or something(or ask blog :))

Lysandre: that's her dad(tm) and the guy that experimented on her and is currently(main verse) hunting her down.

Xerosic: wine uncle vibe. also played a heavy part in the experimentation.

Celosia/the girls: team flare, experiments, celosia specifically had basically the same role as xerosic in that during the SYv:NL experiments.

Ombre/Bal: she has met Ombre once(1) and it was while she was hiding in Lumiose. Bal helped hide her at one point and snuck her out a window.

Perilys/Periwinkle: team flare admin. Played a heavy part in Silva's conditioning. Keyley was originally Perilys's pokemon.

Diantha: they have met a couple times, Silva likes her but doesn't want to see her at risk of her deciding that Lysandre is right(this is in context of pre game)

Colress: they have crossed paths?? like 5 times?? and silva still doesn't know his name, and he wants to cut her open(a little bit). it's always like a 👁👁 oh hi 👁 uh bye

Yveltal: she got artificially connected to yveltal. rip. she has them in her brain.

Zygarde(s): she's met a couple of zygarde cores, none of which ended well.

Volcanion: met volcanion when she was still living in the forest. she likes volcanion :) visited them in pokemon village all the time. has seen them a couple of times post run away.

Ruri: they have met and silva almost bit his hand off[accidentally]

Terapagos: when silva was in paldea, terapagos was basically screaming in silva's brain to go to the crater. terapagos is the reason silva was stable in paldea, but also ultimately was the reason why she left paldea.

Vasil: that's her direct ancestor </3 the reason she has her powers at such a high potency in the first place

Vasil's Aegislash: sword grandpa

Myuo's family: silva met them once and Kaiyō thought she was a rare pokemon. it ended well, they gave her food and she left :)

AZ: they have met MULTIPLE times, when silva was still living in the forest, when she was taken in by flare, on the run in kalos, on the run OUT of kalos- they keep running into each other. Silva calls him the kalos giant :) he's funnie. he finds her terribly tragic.

Rayquaza: rayquaza fucking hates this kid. okay that's an exaggeration, they don't mind this kid, but everytime they have observed silva, something bad happens. Malva: silva likes to bite malva. team flare, but malva isn't involved in the science side so it was significantly less and silva mainly just bit[affectionate] her everytime she saw malva.

Raifort: raifort took one look at this kid, laughed, and let her hide and sleep in her classroom.

Trevor: they've met in passing.

Wikstrom: wikstrom's vibe meter on lysandre is like I Want To Take This Kid So Bad. But diantha says no. They've met. Silva likes wikstrom he's funny as fuck to her.

Viola/Korrina: she has met these two like once. Viola wanted to learn more about her, Silva at the time was completely uninterested because it was vERY early on during silva's snowbelle days.

Lusamine: they have never interacted. Silva knows about Lusamine and hopes she doesn't know about her. The vibe is Not There.

Kyurem(muiri): they've met like once and silva chilled in his cave. It was fine. He was tired he didn't care.

Fairy!Kyurem(urei): SHE FUCKING HATES THIS KID!!!! Legit urei fucking hates silva this isn't an understatement. She wanted to freeze silva into a popsicle because she's the reason Urei woke up, Faebulan!Cresselia woke up, and why Faebula was briefly very under danger.

Ouutis: they met once in alola and never again. Ouutis almost arrested her(oops)

Newtwo(genesect movie mewtwo): silva stayed with them for a little while. It was minimal and the only reason she was allowed was because Newtwo took one look and went "aight one day"

Olympia: olympia knew of Silva when she was born, then when she disappeared. May or may not also have known that silva was surviving in Snowbelle but refuses to acknlowedge or confirm that allegation.

Ghetsis: silva saw one of his speeches. That's it.

N: these two have crossed paths so many times but never actually met formally.

Lisia: LISIA!! WANTED!! TO!! DO!! SILVA'S!! HAIR!!

Volo: 👁👁 weird wild child huh

Ein: can i shadow that? He wanted to so bad. Didn't have the resources to though, he was in hiding.

Sada: they briefly saw each other in the crater, they keep their distance. Sada observed Very Intently.

Jacq: he let her hide in his classroom!! he also may or may not have taken a few samples to analyze ignore him.

Ting-Lu: silva gave it berries. It was a good time. Silva also slept next to the sealed door before she fed it berries.

Flabébé(Bloom): silva traveled for a little while WITH bloom!!

Giovanni: bro these two haven't met. Silva might have seen him on the paper thats IT

Audino Nurse Joy: silva hid in her pokecenter for a little while when she initially ran away. The only Joy that she actually trusted in Kalos.

Juniper: 👁👁 YVELTAL??!?!?! Silva stayed in Juniper's lab during a close call with Flare grunts around Unova. They are decently close, Silva still calls Juniper occasionally when she has questions.

Ludwig: faebula drama, Ludwig was around for that but doesn't blame Silva and frankly just hopes she's okay at the present.

Leaf/Green/Blue: she likes Silva, Silva likes her. Silva reminds her of Yellow and is a bit protective thanks to that. But also she just thinks Silva has such a high chance of causing chaos, she HAS to encourage it.

Alfidough: fucking hates this kid, get off his lawn large child.

Spinel: he is SOOOOO curious about the crater connection. He's talked to her a couple times.

Pardalis: they have met in the crater. Pardalis was terrified for reasons they Didn't Explain To Her.

Unit Teambuilding - Rei

Well, Rei gets to be the Fighting addition, so I guess that's a ski-oh.  Oh shit, for real?

General Overview Much like Akari, Rei's strength is in his buddy move.  AoE sure flinch.  That is...really strong.  It can only be used after a sync from anyone on your side, but as a Sprint pair with an easy, natural -2 toward first sync, this is pretty easily achieved.  TM also gives him SEUN and +2 PMUN, so his damage is...very high.  What's insane is the base power of this move.  250-300.  You know.  SS Lysandre's Buddy move.  He hits about as hard, but also has sure flinch AoE attack, and -2 defense, AND does not suffer AoE penalty, AND is reusable.  Holy shit, man.  Triple Arrows is just as good in between, providingdamage a bit above NC Hop and a bit below SC Diantha.  And his sync provides Free Moves Next, and is effectively ensured to crit, given Soften Up and +3 crit on entry.  You don't even worry about gauges because his trainer move is +6 speed too.

Rei's limitations are his sync, and access to full power.  4 sync damage nodes and a 50% multiplier aren't bad, but they're not exceptional either, and the trade of 50% bonus from Tech EX for Sprint has notable detriments too. He doesn't nuke very hard.  His move damage multiplier relying on consistent defense debuffs also hurts when he's not exactly fast-acting with them.  Aggravation being a 4/5 skill hurts is persistent flinch potential, too.  But by and large, Rei is frankly ridiculous.  His skills are exceptional in a fairly rare type to shop for.

EX, Role, and Move Level? Rei's similar to Akari once again, in that this is fairly flexible.  Even 1/5, Rei can supply an initial fast-ramp, and gets benefits from his AoE sure flinch when an ally syncs.  He has good utility.  3/5 is for the damage and full sync, with the same note of sync generally wants Cake for spread damage if possible.  Unlike Akari, I don't find his 5/5 grid meaningful in any way.  Sure, sure, Aggravation, but High Score just gets immunity, so better to aim with the AoE for a complete shutdown.

Team 1: Rei, Aura Cynthia, SC Diantha/SC Hop Okay kids, here you go.  Aura Cynthia has long been criticized for not extending Zone into sync, well now you can.  Rei's fast-acting sync means he gets you to that first shot well within the window of opportunity, while boosting Cynthia's Master Passive.  Though personally I think Rei makes better use of that first sync.  Double fast ramp means very little time is spent outside of Cynthia's Zone, while racking up more sync buffs for the team.  You can always just throw in Hop, really go nuts.

Team 2: Rei, SS Acerola, SC Steven I mean look, are we really going to argue this one?  SEUN from Steven into a burst, then +3 PMUN for the AoE sure flinch, while supplying rebuff and defense debuffs.  Like come on.  We all see it, right?

Team 3: Rei, Maylene, Bruno/Marshal Okay, now we talk business.  Rei's strong enough to carry F2P compositions just fine.  His defense debuffing and sure-flinch make him a great choice for supports that don't really want to get hit, like Maylene.  Maylene is able to recover well off of Drain Punch as well, leading to much better sustain over time.  Bruno is an option for a higher DPS pair, while Marshal is both sustain and a potential extra flinch with Staggering.  Notably, Marshal also has Relentless, which Rei helps set up beautifully through his own sync.

Final Thoughts Rei feels incredibly good, but I think I figured out why I'm not as invested.  Remember SS Lyra?  How she's considered insanely good, because the sure flinch lets her accomplish whatever she wants stress-free, regardless of team?  It reminds me a bit of that.  And between us, I don't like playing SS Lyra.  It's objectively strong, but also subjectively boring.  It's a little too perfectly controlled, and it's hard to determine a good teambuilding approach when you're looking at someone whose strength is so universally beneficial.

gio's pokemon get a lot of training the boss has to be the strongest ofc... he accompanies them a lot and they rlly enjoy that time, gio loves battling and its one of the things he does to blow off steam. hes not the most vocally affectionate BUT they get head scritches :) and eat only the best food made by hired chefs ofc

maxie is also not the most vocally affectionate towards his pokemon but he does care about them a lot for sure. he lets them all free roam in his room without pokeballs (minus the secret sharpedo shhh) and its nice and cozy and warm. his love language for them is through tasks like cooking and grooming them! he cooks a lot and makes them nice tasty treats <3

archie is much more outwardly affectionate with his team LOL hes the guy to play a lot with them they love it. they all enjoy training but when he goes out to the lake of rage they love the chance to just run around and swim and interact with the pokemon there lol its fun. he loves his pokemon so much they mean a lot to him

cyrus is similar to maxie in that he is more affectionate through actions than words... except its a lot of quality time mostly that they enjoy together like comfortable silences. cyrus' team is mostly the same as his original one, all of them are still with him (plus rotom and others but rotom is a whole other story) so they have a close bond regardless if he admits it. he trains the least of the bosses he just doesnt enjoy battling much but he loves his animals

ghetsis as ive said before trains a lot with his pokemon! theyre all kind of aggressive but so is he so their energy matches and shit gets crazy... ghetsis is always available for training but are you sure you want to. are you sure (not saying much else bc ive already discussed his stuff before)

lysandre also doesn't train as much but his pokemon mean so much to him... he spends a lot of time with them (they arent rlly affected by his powers except maybe weak baby pokemon probably) brushing his pyroar's mane and such. also i dont think i ever mentioned but he has a gallade because years ago before everything went to shit he was gifted a ralts from diantha and sycamore and he had stored the pokeball somewhere safe and like rediscovered it in the ruins of his hq after the incident after everything happened... its a sentimental pokemon and nobody knows its origins except him

Sometimes it baffles me how I ended up with the "Augustine and Diantha are siblings" hc but it's starting to bite me in the butt having to write "Augustine" instead of "Sycamore" as I usually do, cause Sycamore would be Diantha's surname too ( though she could have a different one or a fake one I dunno that's not the point). It also doesn't help that they don't look anything alike. And yeah, I get it, siblings don't have to look alike, I know, I understand, but with these two in particular it's like. Where's the resemblance. What feature is similar enough that I can say "yeah these two are siblings". What more,I don't know they're dynamic. They seem to be friends in canon, and I'm definitely going the route of the two +Lysandre being close friends ( kinda) but also. Where did I get the siblings idea from. I know I saw it from somewhere but still.

Like with Green ( player character) and Blue (rival), even when the pair didn't completely look the same ( Blue has more orangish-brown hair than dark brown like Green, same with eye color, etc), I feel like there was enough wiggle room to say " yeah Green is Blue's younger sister". The player character status of Green ( as in, Green kinda being a blank slate) just makes things easier to fit in. Also Green and Blue being siblings is funny as hell, and I will die on this hill.

But with Augustine and Diantha I feel like it's getting harder to defend. Maybe I should make them cousins, or maybe I should just have them not be related at all. Or maybe I just keep the siblings hc as is cause I overthink shit. I don't know. I just needed to rant hgvhvgvgvcg.

Idk he gives off Dave Strider vibes hahah like, idk if you know homestuck but yeah, Dave is like, the coolkid of their session/group, but he's also really insecure w a lot of stuff and as stuff progressed he realized how messed up everything was, especially w his bro and how he treated Dave

And not to say Drayton was mistreated, not in that way ofc, but y'know hahah

It's just the vibes y'know, he acts all laid back and cool, being one of the strongest trainers of their school and being trained by a Champion too, he has a lot going on. Tho it's also the fact that he's so shit when it comes to class, I wanna say academics really isn't his thing, and he's trying so so hard to understand his lessons, but no matter how hard he tries he just couldn't, so somewhere down the line he gave up, and became lazy when it comes to class

And sometimes it gets him y'know, sometimes during class hours while he's at the club room, his thoughts would often drift off to Iris. Iris struggled with classes too, he knew that, she struggled so much but she persisted, and she passed, while not with flying colours, she still passed her classes. Why can't he do the same?

And, y'know, it's his pride, he wants to ask Iris for help, but he also kinda,, resents her a bit now y'know. As the years went by, Iris became so so busy w Champion duties, especially w all the meetings w the Champions, sometimes Iris doesn't have the time to be home for dinner, and he misses her. Sometimes he gets jealous of the other Champions too, how Diantha and Lance and Cynthia are all so close w Iris, the former two treating her like their own daughter, while the latter treating her like her sister. And it sucks for him y'know. Why can she find the time to be w the other Champions but not w her actual family?

It got to the point that one time when he's talking abt Iris, while he still looks up to her, he'd have biting words too; talking to Florian and Nemona, and how sometimes they often forget to visit their home again w how busy they are w class, their journey, and even their own champion duties, and he's just "well, guess that's the job of a champion, huh? Not being able to visit family. I'm sure my sis knows that, wonder how she's doin' right now," all w that smile, that forced af smile, but somehow people still see it as him being laid back

But he misses her, y'know. He just misses her. He eats dinner late, alone, waiting for her. His family thought he was just that lazy that he wouldn't even eat, but he was waiting for her, he's always waiting for her

Oughgh imagine one night Iris got home late too, and she saw Drayton there on the table fast asleep, and augh,,, your honour, that breaking Iris' heart, she forgot she promised they'd train together today, but w the League duties, and w Hilbert out of the region for a bit, she couldn't find the time. Imagine her either waking him up or carrying him to his room, and she notices how light he was. Has he been eating well? But like, she's there kinda kicking herself too, bc she forgot abt her bro y'know, and she wants to make up for it

Also omf bc this was my initial concept for my lil comic, that when he was a bit younger, around 14 and she was 17, when Iris gave him the jacket, it was actually supposed to be after a training session w Drayden, and how Drayton lost to him. Iris tried to cheer him up by getting him the jacket, and ofc that made him happy. But also, before Iris left, she told him that "whenever I think of the day I finally lose to someone, I always think I'd lose to you. I couldn't imagine anyone else be Unova's next Champion but you, Drayton. I can't wait for that battle."

And god did that just cbmdbd that gave him hope yknow, ofc, he was fourteen, he had so much hopes and dreams, but w how he is w class now, how he repeated his second year three times now maybe, how he gave up down the line, he thinks that maybe that battle w Iris won't ever happen. And he's starting to think if he becomes Champion, like, the real deal Champion, he'd bear those responsibilities too, and honestly, he doesn't really like that kinda responsibility. Maybe that's why their grandpa didn't make him Gym Leader despite his strength, unlike Iris, he wasn't good w his duties. He didn't even really call himself the BB League's champ bc he doesn't like responsibilities too lmfao

But yeah, in a nutshell, he's that cool kid that's like, one small problem away from crying but he doesn't cry bc he thinks it's not cool lmfaooo and he's like, Iris' number one fan, he'd always show off how his sis is the champion one way or another I bet that when he was much younger he also pulled the "my sis is the champion and she can beat your ass!" Card whenever he can I just know it hahah

Pokemon Journeys Episode 122 Review

Pokemon Journeys Episode 122. Let’s review:

This episode was just... bad.

Literally, the only saving graces were Ash and Cynthia’s interactions and the insight of Cynthia’s own childhood, but that’s it.

Despite having the word “Semifinals” in the episode’s title, it hardly focuses on the actual semifinals at all. Instead, the episode’s main focus are these two brats who witness a Gossifleur evolving into a Eldegoss. Yeah, real important. And it’s not like the episode’s events does anything to develop Ash or Cynthia either, they’re just... there.

And don’t even get me started on Leon and Diantha’s battle. Just like Alain, it was an utter stomp that makes Leon look like an untouchable Gary Stu who can completely shit on respected trainers with more interesting personalities. And people wonder why I don’t like this guy. There’s doing the Worf Effect correctly and then there’s just utterly failing at it. We didn’t even get to see the full battle, just Leon’s Rillaboom taking out a good majority of Diantha’s team (the same guy who didn’t do that hot against Alain mind you) before Charizard gets sent out to finish off Gardevoir. And barely anything interesting happened either.

So yeah, sorry for the short review, but this episode gets a 1/10 from me. And people seriously say that Ash gets all the writers’ favoritism when Leon freakin’ exists. Fuck off, you purple-haired highass.
