You know it's bad when the first season is considered 'calm' when Mikey had:
Cut off his arm, by himself
Slaughtered a pig
Slaughtered the OTHER type of pig
Chopped off his hands
Killed another 2 pigs
Mikey is always seen as the less smart character (he's not allowed to have a calculator, he's only with groundwork etc etc, basically he's a grunt) and as you are listening to @woebegonepod, you start questioning why this emotionally traumatized little lad is being put through all this stuff. Then I remembered that Mikey can get a tad... crazed... and turn on Stalin Mode.
On a sadder note, Mikey once ranted about how he always forgot about how dead people's eyes don't close, and how much he hates that. The Mikeys have an MO when killing. They always ask their victim to turn away, when they at least have control over the situation. We can see this when Mike kills Edgar in season 8?, when Micheal kills all the Mikeys from the Compound, and when Micheal kills MW in eps 122. Mike always asks them to do something, to turn their back to him, so that he doesn't see their eyes.

DB ep 122 thoughts/spoilers..
ok i was NOT emotionally prepared for tien to be in such peril....that smile GGHRGH :pain:
and the other thing. i REALLY wish yamcha could have been the one to catch goku after everything???
like...yaji was debating even showing up... we already know hes kinda selfish but ultimately not a bad guy/can help sometimes .. while yamchas BEEN a friend... he could have actually helped and then yaji could have still been the one to take him back to karinto. a win-win
but he just showed up for nothing like.....💀
IM SAYING.. it would not have drastically altered the plot if yamcha and co. stayed in the plane or whatever and managed to spot goku falling then catch him, then they could have touched down and met up with yaji who could take him back to see karin. then everyone could have helped. like come on...
they havent COMPLETELY wrapped up things there but the piccolo daimao arc is effectively over, goku is already being taken to get patched up, tien is hurt but hes well enough to manage on his own. so theres not much yam and co can really do at this point except i guess take tien to get patched up.
but yeah. piccolo finale was EPIC *but* i was kinda disappointed with this one detail lol. also the fact that pic went through the trouble to incapacitate goku by breaking his hand/feet but conveniently leaving one hand intact. like the fact that the outcome of the fight ultimately came down to that felt a little cheap lol. but at least tien is ok 😭 (oh and goku beat pic that too)
ANYWAY PICCOLO JR TIME !! I already knew he would come after since i accidentally spoiled it for myself looking at a DB episode list when i forgot my place one time (😩). Pilaf lookin ass.
That shot of old couple finding him makes me think of (Grandpa) Gohan finding baby Goku in the mountains.
Also also kinda BS that piccolo could create another mazoku after being drained of power and also killed but whatever. i guess pic jr does look kinda small.

Chainsaw Man ch 121 and 122- An interesting parallel
(Minor spoiler alert- Madoka Magica)
As we all know, Tatsuki Fujimoto is a huge fan of media-- films, manga, tv, books etc... and he has made countless references to his favourite media in almost all of his works so far. After I watched Madoka Magica a few days ago (a series Fujimoto previously recommended to his audience), I noticed this parallel between ep 10 of Madoka Magica and csm chapter 121 which I thought was quite significant-
So yes- it's this scene. I find them so similar-- I can't really see it being coincidence. Both sequences end in a similar way as well. Homura unwillingly walks into the Witch's labyrinth while Asa stumbles upon a devil by accident- events that were completely out of their control. Homura would've died in the labyrinth if Mami and Madoka didn't save her, and this also applies to Asa's situation right now as it was revealed in ch 122 today that Yoru couldn't fight the devil, so she starts running away in fear. In clearer words, they both run into highly dangerous situations (that could potentially lead to death), while thinking about death. However, Homura was rescued. Does this open up a chance of Asa being rescued soon? Or is it just my wishful thinking... I really hope that happens, I would love to see a direct interaction between her and Chainsaw Man (Denji) again. The prophecy that was mentioned today also reminded me of the impending doom of Walpurgisnacht.

Okay I’m making this while tired but I figure I can at least get it started and smart people can add on. if you’re here from jrwitwt first off HELLO!!! Welcome. I know there have been several posts going around saying watch your step, we do things differently here, and to get with it, that might seem a bit intimidating. So I wanted to make this non-exhaustive list of how tumblr works and HOW we do things different so you can get settled in :)
also these are just to the best of my ability and based off my time here i am by no means a standard, just a starting point
-You might’ve heard this one already but there isn’t much of an algorithm here. You can follow certain tags and blogs. The best way to find people is to just scroll through tags and check out blogs whose posts you enjoyed
-reblogging is standard. Likes are typically for letting a mutual(or anyone rlly) know you saw their post or during liveblog sessions(at least that’s how I use them) while we have replies on posts that might look like a comment section. It really isn’t most of the time. Comments are normally put in the tags of reblogs. It’s completely okay if your blog is just reblogs that’s super normal here. you don’t have to have an original thought if you don’t want to
-If you really don’t want to post/lurk and only follow ppl, change your pfp so we know you aren’t a bot. Blank blogs have a history of being bots and if we can’t tell you’re a person a lot of people will block on sight. Just fair warning
-We do a lot of blocking here. If you don’t like someone’s posts, block em and keep going. The filter tags system on tumblr really works(I’ve heard twt is fussy and not great) and most people tag things appropriately here so you Will Not see the shit you don’t want to
-TAG THINGS APPROPRIATELY PLEASE it’s a give and take. When it comes to spoilers, as long as the original poster tagged it you normally don’t have to tag it again in a reblog but you can out of courtesy
-Bonus point a lot of us use “jrwilb” as a tag when everyone is on the dash liveblogging a stream ep or just when they get around to watching it. Some people have personalized ones, and some ppl also main tag their liveblogs so it’s just a good one to know ahead of time
-People chit chat through asks frequently. You don’t have to feel shy abt it, esp if you are being friendly. But if you’re anxious a lot of people leave on anon asks so you don’t have to have your name attached
-We don’t really do callouts/negativity posts. If you see a take or headcanon you aren’t fond of going around. You can block/filter, or you can make a positivity post or post abt your own interpretation!!! A lot of people here love different takes and headcanons and try to value all of them. Again, if one squicks you really bad, filter/block it. If you really wanna complain, be sure to do it in dms or a private discord server
-our concept of what jokes are okay to post are very lax. there really isnt an official thing but i’ve tended to notice we dont really tend to do anything the council havent done. we joke abt gillion tits and eggs here because the council have done it. we have made very lewd jokes because . . . mcs and everything else grizzly does when he’s not playing dakota. so be prepared to be jarred by how . . . interesting it gets here

I'm still quite new to the gakubaby fandom so I'm sorry if this was answered before but I was curious as to why there is no ful translation of ep 111,113-17,118,120-122 uploaded
Hello 😀 welcome to the fandom 😊
Answering from my side, this blog only posts snippets and spoilers of GakuBaby chapters, so the few translated pages here from the main chapters are something I did myself. I do translate some special chapters in full.
For the scanlation groups working on the series, I’ll just repeat what they’ve mentioned previously: they get busy irl so the chapter updates are infrequent, and since the story is not really linear (save a few interconnected chapters), they opt to release chapters that are relatively easier to translate, clean, and typeset; this is why there are “missing” chapters.
(It’s all right to ask 😀 I may have answered this before, but I think it’s unfair to expect everyone to dig into really old asks 😅)

there's something about the shift in tone and style of the latest ep that just Gets Me... from their usual lighthearted to do editing style with silly captions and straightforward camerawork to a whole-ass cinematic experience. the way they shot and edited the car pulling into the research center. the sudden absence of captions. the use of found footage. shots of the boys planning their missions like action thriller movie leads. the use of cuts for the slow tension-building of taehyun encountering the doctor zombie... fuck it's all SO GOOD and so immersive holy shit to do's level is insane

I made two long posts about Your Throne...
BUT I AM STILL FUCKIN PISSED THAT SO MANY OF Y'ALL ARE DODGING THE FUCKIN POINT SAM IS LITERALLY SLAPPING US WITH.
Fukin hell. This is why I can't be in discussion forums or groups for Your Throne or any manwha in general. I'll end up taking hours writing paragraphs to help explain things and people would still insist on their views heavily influenced by internalized misogyny and religion. I'm only human I get tired, and I am so so so close to just completely giving up so yeah. I shouldn't be doing this even on the net but...
For the first time I saw an interesting webtoon/manwha that portrays two completely different women realistically, shows a healthy example of female friendship, normalizes women being sexually active and being comfortable with their sexuality, having main leads that actually target the real villain and not waste time pitting the female protagonists against each other.
It also isn't holding back with the villain, it shows the villain stooping as low as he probably should, unlike majority of the media everywhere that's too chicken and thinks murder is the peak of villainy.
Your Throne is refreshing in the sense that it's pretty straightforward.
Ep.1 then ep.2 and we already see Eros the Crown Prince is a piece of shit.
Not a single chapter in the entirety of the webtoon was Eros portrayed as a good guy. SO I DON'T FUCKIN GET HOW Y'ALL CAN OVERLOOK JUST HOW TERRIBLE HE IS.
Oh wait. No. I get it. I know why so many people can still think Eros has some good parts, but y'all would get mad if I said it directly. But come on. Think about it. Really really think about it.
Y'all hate on Medea or Psyche when they do something seemingly problematic but turn a blind eye to the most obvious demonstrations of toxicity in Eros and Helio.
And when some of y'all try to defend one of the women, you'll do it by bringing down the other, and not hmmm let's see, actually discussing the root of the problem?
Let's not be like that.
Think about it. Why is it that the first thing many of us thought when we saw this:
"Oh my god, Psyche slept with Eros, she isn't pure anymore!" or "WTF. Medea fucked Eros while she was in Psyche's body, she committed double rape!"
Why THE FUCK did I not see one, just a single fucking person raise:
"Mfker. Eros slept with Psyche when he had always been plotting her TORTURE and assassination."
OR at least,
"Did Psyche/Medea want this? She doesn't look happy. I hope Eros didn't scare her into having sex."
LIKE EROS HAS BEEN PORTRAYED TO THREATEN PSYCHE WITH HER FREEDOM EVERY TIME SHE TRIED TO DISAGREE WITH HIM FROM THE FIRST FUCKING CHAPTER!
Why is the first course of action always female blaming? Huh?
SAM placed that in the story because it would make us uncomfortable. But did y'all stop to think why it made us uncomfortable?
Why is it that y'all were quick to go "Oh Medea was a villainess back then, this is within character."
But nobody ever said
"Oh sht. Eros is an evil bastard that chains and jails their lover just cuz she wanted to communicate her refusal to meet with an ex-friend. He forced Psyche didn't he?"
With that said, why didn't most of y'all remember that Medea tried to reach out to Psyche during the Crown Princess competition winner announcement?
Y'all are so quick to remember the bad sht a female character does but overlook the good acts that were literally placed there so we would see the difference between the anti-hero protagonist and the fukin villain.
And they're so fukin obvious that if they were anymore obvious SAM would have to be spoonfeeding it to us.
Don't think that Your Throne is like most of the mainstream manwhas out there.
The author is trying to get us to open our eyes to the misogyny and injustice so clearly present in real life. And she's doing it in a not so in-your-face manner so that our prides and egos won't get in the way of our understanding.
My only issue with Your Throne is that Psydea won't be explicitly endgame. That's it.
And no. It's not cuz of the gay agenda. Not necessarily. The message it would send if they were endgame has so many fukin implications, for political, social, emotional, and psychological aspects.
I wish more people would understand.

Another interesting thing to note about the empire kids is that out of the whole of the mighty nein, Beau and Caleb are the two whose abilities and talents are most notably their own, something they've both obviously worked very hard to achieve. They were both under the influence of someone trying to mold them into a specific shape when growing up, and have both spent most of their adult lives trying to become who they are without those forces pressing in on them. They both seem to pride themselves on the fact that they have gotten as far as they have because of themselves, and not because someone else set it up for them. I mean, sure, Beau acknowledges everything the Cobalt Soul has done to train her and teach her and gives credit to Dairon for their training her, and Caleb knows that there are things he can learn from other mages and wasn't afraid of needing assistance when working on widogast's transmogrification. They aren't afraid to acknowledge the fact that the nein has played a large part in getting where they are and are both extremely grateful for that. But there is a difference between being supported and being told you owe someone something because they supposedly gave you something. Beau has outright said many times that she hates it when someone trys to take credit for another person's accomplishments, specifically about Ikithon claiming he allowed Caleb to escape so that he could flourish on his own, or how her father might say that she wouldn't be where she is if he hadn't sent her away. Both of the empire kids have worked hard to make sure that their capabilities come from themselves.
So it's interesting to see how these two characters who have built their skills and abilities on their own may possibly be given a power they didn't want or ask for against their will by the somnovum, and pushed into a narrative where they now owe the somnovum in return for something they don't want.
