👾 Least favorite Zelda game (OH YOU WANT ME TO BE A HATER. I WILL GLADLY BE A HATER)

Breath of the Wild. It’s a fabulous game I just have this really strong reaction to that particular style of voice acting (don’t know how to describe it….? Like anime voice acting sorta?) and it makes my skin feel weird and prickly. Also just not a fan of open-world games! Totk was less offensive as it didn’t have the misfortune of being the first game to introduce those two concepts. lol

Making up for my haterism with this one. Botw/totk Zelda MY FAVEEEEEEEE FOREVER. I absolutely love how they portrayed her character. She’s so genuine and sweet and she has this quietness to her that’s just. ouuuuugghhhh I love her

Midna!! Funfact I used to dislike Midna as a kid. I think she felt male-gazey to me and that made me uncomfortable. Anyway I LOVE that she’s first portrayed as demanding and bratty and uncaring but your view of her slowwwly changes as she and link learn about each other + begin to understand each other's worlds. And soon you realize she’s nowhere near as thoughtless as she seemed at first. There's a quiet side to her that's just raghghhaghhhgh so compelling to me. I love that she’s a flawed character whose fear and shame brought out a kind of ugly side of herself. I also love that one of her main mechanics is literally a TRUST FALL LIKE THAT IS SUCH!!! A GOOD WAY TO SHOW LINK (and you as the player) PLACING HIS TRUST IN HER!!! And this happens like 10 minutes into knowing her (iirc). You literally have to trust that she’ll catch you. AND SHE ALWAYS DOES!!!!! That’s insane

Impressionist movement my LOVEEEEEE!!!! all my favourite artists are from during or just outside the impressionist movement (shoutout Van Gogh and J.M.W. Turner btw) but Claude Monet is my absolute faveeeeeeee go king!!! here's a few of my favourite paintings by him bc that's my dude fr!!

(My best friend is getting her art history degree atm and she's trying to get me into the niche picks but no one can replace Monet in my heart <3)

Living for the moby dick story cause I teach English high school n I’m always getting students saying “Mr anon is this book gay?” n I’m always like well it’s open to interpretation but don’t let the school district know I said yes

FAVEEEEEEEE 😭😭😭😭😭 you're doing the lord's work. delving into gay subtext is an important part of culture imo. and i love that its almost always the english high school teachers that really Get It. i loved that one teacher bc he truly lived for anyone giving their genuine interpretations regardless of how off base or unpopular. like he read my essay on how moby dick was abt the gay bonds forged in crisis and loved it so much he made me get up and read it to the class 😭 english teachers are just SO much fun
