The Pro-Palestine Self-Immolation of Aaron Bushnell
CONTENT WARNING: extreme, self-inflicted violence
Self-immolation is an extreme and brutal form of protest in which the protester purposefully sets themselves on fire. The act is excruciatingly painful and can result in death.
The Self-Immolation Protest Event
On 25 February 2024 at around 1 p.m., a 25-year-old active US Air Force serviceman named Aaron Bushnell dressed in military fatigues doused himself in flammable liquid and lit himself on fire outside the Embassy of Israel in Washington, DC. This act of self-immolation was done to protest Israel's genocide of Palestinians.
Before the event, Aaron Bushnell had emailed several left-wing news outlets saying he will "engage in an extreme act of protest against the genocide of the Palestinian people". He also posted on Facebook a Twitch link with this caption: "Many of us like to ask ourselves, 'What would I do if I was alive during slavery? Or the Jim Crow South? Or apartheid? What would I do if my country was committing genocide?' The answer is, you’re doing it. Right now."
Tumblr media
As he was livestreaming the event on Twitch outside the Embassy, he said, "I am an active duty member of the United States Air Force. And I will no longer be complicit to genocide. I am about to engage in an extreme act of protest. But compared to what people have been experiencing in Palestine at the hands of their colonizers—it's not extreme at all. This is what our ruling class has decided will be normal." After lighting himself on fire, he repeatedly shouted "Free Palestine!" until he collapsed.
Meanwhile, a police officer aimed his gun at the man as he was on fire. Another policeman said, "I don't need guns, I need fire extinguishers!"
From ignition to extinguishing, Bushnell was burning for approximately 90 seconds. After fire extinguishers were used, Aaron was transported to the hospital and at 10:06 p.m. was pronounced dead.
A censored version of the video can be found on Twitter.
This is the second pro-Palestine self-immolation performed by US citizens. The first was by an unknown woman performed outside the Israeli Consulate in Atlanta, Georgia on 1 December 2023.
Reactions to the Protest
An unofficial group of White House administration staffers created a statement calling for a permanent ceasefire and criticizing President Biden for not using his power to prevent Israel from committing genocide.
Tumblr media
Bernie Sanders responded to the self-immolation saying, "It's obviously a terrible tragedy, but I think it speaks to the depths of despair that so many people are feeling now about the horrific humanitarian disaster taking place in Gaza, and I share those deep concerns. Children are starving. People are dying—29,000 Palestinians have died, two-thirds of them women and children. The United States has got to stand up to Netanyahu and make sure this does not continue. We are increasingly isolated. The international community understands that what Netanyahu is doing is a humanitarian disaster. It is a horror, and we continue to be one of the very few countries in the world that stand by Israel, and I think that is a terrible, terrible mistake. And as you may know, I'm doing everything I can to make sure that the United States government does not send another nickel to Netanyahu to continue this terrible war." Despite outcry from his followers, Bernie Sanders still has not supported a ceasefire.
Green Party Presidential Candidate Dr. Jill Stein responded by saying, "May his sacrifice deepen our commitment to stop genocide now."
News outlets like FOX News, USA Today, Reuters, the New York Times, the Washington Post, and CNN neglected to include the reason for the self-immolation in their headlines.
There have been vigils held throughout the United States. A vigil in New York City had NYPD officers with riot helmets and batons ready one hour before the vigil started.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There is speculation that Aaron Bushnell may have been a closeted transgender woman and used the name Lilly. Aaron's Twitch username was LillyAnarKitty. The "AnarKitty" could also be a play on words for "anarchy". The profile picture for this account was of the Anarchy symbol.

On today fun fact about Poland, here's some examples of historical polish houses, from an Facebook group about poland
Just like the person in the post is saying, those are just few examples! But it's really fun to just share with others what traditional things from your country/region are, especially when your country or region is "not pupular" by masses to look into or visit or even google about
Lets be real, even places that are popular by tourism or in popular medias such as television, books or movies- such as england, france or USA, are not represented to the max with actual details for specific regions and their people
If any age or pet regressors, or flips, or dreamers, or caregivers or anybody alike wants to add to this with some examples of traditional fun facts from your own country/region, you are welcome to reblog and talk/show about any traditional/folk stuff you want! Its super fun to share with each other such things! Its a good way of learning things in fun way too!

I keep seeing your posts about mice and I was wondering, what enclosure size and group size do you recommend for beginners? I've been really interested in keeping mice for a while and your posts have reignited that for me. (Also if you have any tips on where to get mice I'd love to hear them)
I'm VERY excited to tell you that someone recently found what I would consider to be an ideal cage minus one issue that's easily fixed!
This 23g Oiibo cage!
It's the perfect size for a group of mice, front-opening with a screen top that also opens, and wire cage sides but only halfway up, which provides airflow while reducing the amount of bedding they're capable of kicking out. It's also FULLY disassemble-able which means even the glass can slide out of the metal, and you can thoroughly actually clean this sucker properly if you need to. The only problem is that the bar spacing is 1/2" instead of 1/4", so you'd need to apply some 1/4" hardware cloth over the bars. It's also all glass and metal, which means it's chew proof unlike bin caging. I want these so badly, but at $200 a pop, they ARE a bit out of my current price range for justifying on mice that already have cages. But if I was buying fresh, I'd get this.
That being said any 20g long will work fine, or even a 10g aquarium. You can also make your own cage out of a plastic storage tote and some hardware cloth/zip ties, though if you're just starting out, go with a 20g. They're common, fairly cheap, and easy to clean, plus they easily hold 6-8 mice but 4 can still be fairly comfy in it without feeling stressed about the lack of population.
If you go with 10g, 2-4 mice, never below 2 for any enclosure because they always need a buddy. Ideally, you would get at least a trio. This isn't because the group dynamic is any different, but because someone always leaves first. When you lose your first mouse, you don't want the one you have left to be alone while you look for a replacement, and having 3 to start out with solves that issue.
To find a breeder, it depends on where you are. If you're in the USA, that's easy; you can look up the FMBA or ARFMA breeder listings, and locate breeders there, or hop on facebook and look for mouseries or ratteries that have mice, and message them. Sometimes craigslist also has listings, but you're taking your life in your hands doing that. Same with going to reptile expos... you MIGHT get a good, solid pet-type mouse, or you might get someone who's just picking for fancy mouse colors on their skittish little feeders.

Warning to all fiber artists
This is an updated and abbreviated post to warn all fiber artists about a scam artist that is currently fleecing the community.  I will keep this post pinned and updated with new information as it becomes available.
There is a scam artist in the fiber arts community named Sherry Tenney.  She sells fleece and wool on facebook and etsy.  She frequently does not send the fleece or wool she has been paid for, and plays the customer until the time window for a dispute is passed.  Afterward, if you continue to contact her, she will leave unhinged, violent, and threatening messages to you, doxx your name and address on her facebook live streams and posts, and still refuse to either send product or refund you.
A lot of complaints have also come forward about the product she does send out.  It is frequently moth and larvae infested, contains large amounts of shit, completely matted fleeces, or are trimmings that are completely unusable.  If you have received product from her you must quarantine it and freeze and bake it to destroy the moths and larvae.
She frequently tries to force smaller fleece sellers from small farms to go out of business to purchase their fleeces for cheap.  She, with the help of several associates and sock puppet accounts, will contact people in the groups of small sellers and offer them fleeces for cheaper and claim they will be of better quality.  She, and her associates and sock puppets, will then report the small farms public media repeatedly until they are taken down, thus preventing the farmer/shepard from being able to sell.  Several small farms have confirmed losses of nearly 60% in sales due to her actions. Some have unfortunately gone out of business due to her actions as well.
Sherry has also focused her scam on small, independent suppliers as well. She will orders goods and services and then, once received, she will refuse to pay for them, or dispute charges with PayPal and her credit card.  She will claim the items were never received, were not what she ordered, or were damaged.  She will then sell them to gain a full, one hundred percent profit on the goods.  If she contacts you to purchase goods, or to do labor on her farm, she will not pay you. Shearers on the east coast will not work with her or shear her sheep any longer because of her actions, and she depended on a young charity shearer to save her sheep from heat stroke this year.
Sherry Tenney is also currently trying to sell lambs on facebook (against facebook rules).  Her animals do not have official papers (she does not control breeding, her ewes and rams are mixed together at all times), she does not know the breed of most of her sheep (lots of random breeds together with unknown breeding has resulted in unknown crossbreeds and a large quantity of inbreeding), and her sheep/lambs do not have the proper veterinary certificates that would be required for transport.
Sherry Tenney’s confirmed know aliases and the names she goes by (she changes her name frequently on social media):
Sherry Tenney
Vondorp Sherry
Sherry Vondorp

If you have a Ravelry account, this has all been compiled for viewing here.  I do warn you, the videos are unnerving and I could barely stomach just reading the transcripts.
Here is a link to a google form filled out by those who Sherry has stolen from, and how much she has stolen. It is currently at over $15,000+ USD.
Here is a link to a YouTube channel of Sherry’s livestreams.  I feel I should warn everyone that they can become violent and aggressive in nature, and several have been known to trigger survivors of domestic violence.
The Pennsylvania Attorney General has filed suit against her, and you can read the paperwork filed here.  If you have filed a complaint with the Pennsylvania Attorney General they will keep you up to date.  If Sherry has stolen from you, please contact the Attorney General, even though they have already filed against Sherry, every victim coming forward helps.  The next court date is February 1st, 2024.
Here is a link to a video on YouTube that goes into detail about the charges filed by the Pennsylvania Attorney General against Sherry Tenney.  The judge has ruled that Sherry’s case is going forward, and has overruled Sherry’s lawyer’s attempt to get the charges thrown out.  Cases take time, but Sherry Tenney is being charged!
Sherry Tenney has once again filed for bankruptcy!  She filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy.  Here is the info:
[The Bureau of Consumer Protection is writing to update you concerning the consumer complaint you filed against Tenney’s Fiber Farm, LLC (the “Company”) and the above-referenced litigation.
As you may know, Sherry Tenney has filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy in the United States Bankruptcy Court in the Middle District of Pennsylvania under Case Number 1:23-bk-02752-HWV.
If you have not done so already, you may wish to file a proof of claim form in the bankruptcy. A proof of claim form may be filed either electronically or as a paper document. The Bankruptcy Court has set a deadline of February 12, 2024 for creditors to file proofs of claim. To assist you in that matter, we have enclosed a blank proof of claim form for you to complete and submit to the bankruptcy court.
Please send the completed proof of claim form to:
Sylvia H. Rambo US Courthouse U.S. Bankruptcy Court 1501 N. 6th St. Harrisburg, PA 17102
Please be advised, our office cannot offer you legal advice. You should consult with a private attorney to ensure that your rights are preserved in the bankruptcy proceedings.
Very truly yours,
Mia Paone Consumer Protection Agent]
If Sherry Tenney owes you money, please file immediately!
Sherry Tenney has made multiple claims that would indicate she is abusing and neglecting her animals.  Please do not contact authorities as that would give Sherry Tenney reason to sue someone for harassment.  That is the unfortunate state of laws in the US.  All of her chickens died of neglect last year, she would not bring them in at night and they were eaten by local wildlife, and she has claimed that a fairly large number of her flock has passed away last year and this year as well, over 10%.
Sherry has changed the name of her facebook group to ‘McCullough Farm primitives and country life’ and is claiming that her farm is the historic McCullough farm.  Her farm is not historic, the previous owner was named McCullough and it was owned by them since 2015, before that no McCullough’s owned it or were associated with it.  In fact, Sherry bought the farm in 2021, it is not a generational farm.  Her and her husband move states fairly frequently, they have no generational farm.  She has changed her group name, and has started randomly posting stolen food recipes with stolen photos, in an attempt to confuse people and attract new victims to her group.  Please warn others.  Yes, she frequently uses the word ‘primitive’ for many things.  She is that kind of person.
Sherry was selling in the FB group WAFA via pm, and was called out several times by customers who had received moth ridden fleece that was shorted weight.  After a month the head of WAFA finally stepped in and kicked Sherry and several of her associates from the group.  Unfortunately Brice Wonders of Spinaway Farms is still a member of the group, and he does work with Sherry.  So WAFA is still a group that has a warning about using, as they are incredibly slow to react and only when called out on social media are they willing to take action at this time.  WAFA has also contacted an attorney about the situation, though it is unknown what will be done.
Sherry has been stealing photos from noteworthy people in the fiber arts community and linking back to them in an attempt to appear that they associate with her.  If you are well known in the fiber arts community please know that she will try to make it appear that you know her and approve of her business.  So please be warned, and please warn others who follow you if you know that Sherry is doing this with your name.
Sherry is currently bragging about luring black bears to her farm to threaten her sheep by urinating, very frequently, on all of the fences that surround her animals.  Human urine will attract black bears, as will animals left in the open all night that a bear would have easy access to.  She enjoys luring them to the farm, and then brags about threatening them and shooting at them with her guns.
It cannot be stressed enough: DO NOT APPROACH THIS WOMAN IN PUBLIC OR AT PUBLIC EVENTS!  She has threatened to shoot and kill people in several posts and rants, and brags about the amount of guns she has.  Within recent days she has bragged about owning a glock, an AK, multiple shotguns, and frequently has them on her person.  A shotgun has been spotted improperly and dangerous stored in the background of her photos.  She is to be considered armed and dangerous at all times.  Do not drive by her farm if you live in her area, do not sign up to attend a class if she holds one in person on her farm.  She is a mentally unhinged and violent woman.  She should not be approached in person at all costs.  No one wants to see anyone hurt because of this.  Especially now that her scam is failing and legal authorities have filed suit.

hey, sorry if this is a question you can't help with, but do you (or your follower-base) know how to figure out what surgeon would be most trustworthy for my top surgery. I'm in central florida (to narrow down the area a bit), and when i asked my providers (planned parenthood) about it, they were essentially like, "Well, we don't know anybody, but here's a recommendation letter!" so now I'm just aiming to figure out who to go to. Does anyone have any recommended-lists for doctors in the USA? I'd just google but I don't consider that trustworthy anymore. given the current politics i'm very wary of a doctor who claims they're trans-friendly but is just trying to screw me over. i don't know much about these sorts of things, I always thought I'd never be able to get surgeries. thank you for your time!!
I'll let folks respond to this with recs if they have them! (please do not send them to me in asks, though, I am drowning)
I will also say that some of the best localized resources available exist on Facebook. As much as the site is a nightmare in all ways, it's also very easy to find super niche groups (I'm in one specifically for top surgery in my state) and gather hyper-specific resources. Facebook's group privacy settings can also mean that more people are willing to share more sensitive info in private groups, and you may need that when looking for top surgeons.
Transbucket also includes information on the doctors who've performed their surgeries for this reason (links to surgeons also have all kinds of data, from where they're located, to satisfaction rates, to any associated transbucket posts!) My account is from before they locked stuff down recently, so I don't know what the process for getting one looks like now, but I have heard they've opened things up again. Definitely a good resource to explore. Try searching your state on the site if you do; this should produce everything linked to a surgeon located there.
EDIT: My own surgeon is not on trans bucket anywhere, but I was able to find folks who had experience with him in local Facebook groups, so keep in mind that you might not catch every possible surgeon with a single method.

you fundraised over $2,000 for muscular dystrophy research! you don’t know how much that means to me as someone with muscular dystrophy! I wanted to ask, how did you do it? I’d love to fundraise in my own community. Any tips on how to start?
Thank you so much!
I am a member of a fundraising team for my local chapter of the FSHD Society for facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy, the type of MD that I have. As far as I know, the FSHD Society only operates in the USA and Canada, but they have a list of some global FSHD groups here.
The FSHD Society does an annual fundraising event called the Walk and Roll to cure FSHD: this is the only major fundraiser specifically for FSHD in North America. This is the primary way that I've raised money in the past.
Anyone can participate, but the best way is to join or create a fundraising team (fundraising teams raise more than 80% of total donations). FSHD is genetic, so the team I'm on consists mostly of my family members and a few friends that also have FSHD, which classes us as a Friends & Family team (as opposed to a corporate team). You need 4 or more people to make a team.
Teams create a website or Facebook group to document their goals and progress. I'm not sure whether or not this is required, but definitely creates a much easier way for people to send in donations online rather than with cash/check.
Then, get the word out! The easiest way to do this is with social media posts that link to your team's webpage, but some teams also put out flyers. And depending on where you work, you could ask your business to be a corporate sponsor, or do a corporate match program, where every dollar donated by an employee is matched by the corporation. Depending on how much you raise you can receive branded items in return: I've gotten an umbrella, backpack, and duffel bag.
If there is no Walk and Roll event near you, you can participate virtually or donate to the FSHD Society at any time through their website.
My team's $2,000 worth of funds raised is actually on the lower end compared to most other teams, who average over $3,000! But remember that every cent counts towards finding a cure for FSHD and helping people living with it :)

Three months ago I moved to Mexico.
I moved to Merida in August of 2022. After months of research, Facebook groups, and prayer I made the jump. I took an exploratory trip in June and fell in love with the city. But mainly, I fell in love with my freedom. I knew that I was going to grow in this city... and grow I did. I made new friends, had new experiences, saw one of the seven wonders of the world, and learned a lot about Mexican culture.
Did you know that the meteorite that struck Earth and killed the dinosaurs landed in the Yucatan? Yeah. I learned that at a museum.
One of the most common questions I got from friends and family was “Is it safe?” and I can full heartedly say: yes. I moved to Merida which is capital of the state of Yucatan. It’s a small colonial city that brings in a lot of tourism. It’s about 4 hours away from Cancun and the police presence here is strong. That being said, I am not afraid of the police here like I was in the United States. To be honest, I feel safer in Mexico than I did in the United States. Granted, I come from a small town which is pretty safe to begin with. But I’ve been really intentional about unplugging from USA news and it has done wonders for my mental health.
I am a 40 minute car ride from Progresso Beach. I absolutely LOVE the beach. Aside from the sand. I went on a boat tour for a friend’s birthday. We were shaking our ass on a yacht! Which is literally something my roommate and I manifested before we knew we would be roommates on my exploratory trip.
Speaking of manifestation, I really tapped into my spiritual power here. I can save the details of that for another post for real... I manifested a QUEEN SIZED BED. That was a HUGE win for me. I guess now that I know that I can have what I want, it begs the question... what do I want next?
I leave Mexico in a few weeks to go back to small town Pennsylvania. Which honestly, I miss a little bit. But what is next for me? The sky is the limit. That’s why I have been writing so much. I’ll keep you posted.

The thing about the lamentable downward trend in streaming music sales is -- when I tried to look up where they were going, all the articles I read pretty much said "on smartphones." Even the Atlantic, which I read on and off, quoted an article from Quartz titled "American Smartphone Owners Are Listening to Less and Less Music"
It's not clear to me why this would be happening. I have a few guesses:
"The rise of video on YouTube and other similar sites, like TikTok, drove people away from music, and they're mostly staying there." (A guess about the whole "American culture is heading towards a video monoculture" thing that I feel like I see a lot of people talking about, but not many actual articles.)
("Video works fine on phones, but listening to music, or even talking to someone on the phone, doesn't.")
"I don't know, Americans are increasingly deprived of pleasure."
The point is, it seems like a small class of things that are easily shareable over the internet. People have been sharing photos for years, now they're sharing video, soon maybe they'll be sharing audio. If I'm right about this, music will be the next thing to suffer.
The real problem with this model is that we're not enough years in the future to see that it's true, yet. Maybe, in 10 years, we'll be listening to a lot less music than we do now, because, like, most music is shit, whereas most photographs and videos are worth seeing, or at least worth spending 10 seconds clicking on. But all the data I can see is on the last 12-18 months or so, and there's no real evidence yet of a shift in this direction.
The initial "decline of music" articles (Billboard, investment analysts, etc.) cited something called "Smartphone Music Survey 2018." This appears to be a US survey of US adults (18+), done by Nielsen for the National Association of Music Merchants.
I found a copy of the survey results here on Github. Here are the relevant charts:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, in the past two years or so, about 15% of the time people in the USA used to spend on the radio, streaming, or CDs is now going to Spotify instead. Note that by "Spotify" in these charts I mean all sources of music combined -- i.e. including iTunes.
I don't know how old the people in these surveys are, but now I'm wondering if it's possible that this is just a shift to Spotify among millennials and Gen Z. My impression is that for people under 40, all that is left of the traditional radio/CD listening market are the very youngest Gen Z and the oldest millennials (people 30-40). Because they don't spend a lot of time on Spotify in those age groups -- the 18-24 male cohort has way more time for Flipnote Studio HD than for, like, streaming.
I feel like I'm getting off topic here, but. . .
Is there really any . . . "class" . . . of people who just . . . watch a lot of video . . . ?
On TV I mean, not on YouTube or wherever.
I don't think I know any such people, and I suspect that most people I know don't know any such people, either. Maybe there is an imaginary internet person who uses YouTube for everything, including news, and for whom videos are a more natural form of expression than text. But I don't know any such people, and I suspect the idea of such a person is mostly a result of not knowing any such people.
If you took out my text posts and my voice posts on Facebook, would you get a more or less complete picture of the "me" from my two YouTube videos? Would you guess the guy in one of those videos and not the other? Would you be able to tell them apart if I edited the relevant audio and video out of them? Could you imitate me to my face? (I think you would.)
I wonder how much of "video as a content format" is just video in the most literal sense of the term, where you see something on a screen, as opposed to a more conversational mode where you get an image of something but it's just in your head.
For instance, here is a description of a "talking head" video:
A "talking head" video is characterized by a shot of the camera focusing on the host's head and face. The speaker looks directly at the audience in a way that typically does not convey that the viewer can see the speaker's face.
I'm pretty sure that I have never in my life experienced the "speaker looking directly at me" variant of the talking head video. (Although I imagine there are a lot of people who do it on Youtube, maybe?) When I read this description, I get an image of someone sitting in front of a blank wall, talking. That's very far from the experience of watching a video.
"On Youtube, people sit in front of a blank wall and type words in the chat" -- what, no, that's not a thing.
I don't know. I think these days I have the impression that talking heads aren't nearly as . . . lively as they are in my head. When I think of Youtube, the image that comes up in my mind is a fixed video of a person on a white background, talking, perhaps gesturing in a way that makes it clear what they're talking about. There is a very distinct impression of "that's not really a video, that's just a picture of a thing, a fixed image, not a moving one." Whereas if I think of a scene from a TV show, it's animated, it's fluid, it's "moving," it has the texture of actual reality.
It seems to me like a lot of what I see on Youtube has this fixed, still-picture-of-a-person-on-a-blank-white-background quality. That's what I'm used to. It's different from videos -- like, on Facebook videos, for instance.
A lot of videos have the quality of a movie, or even a stage play. If you stand in the doorway of your dorm room, you can almost see this Youtuber on a white wall, and even hear his voice, and see his hands. But that's just . . . a picture, a flat image. A moving picture, but still a picture nonetheless. Whereas a TV show has the texture of actual reality, the quality of something that could happen to you, not just things you can see, but things you can feel, smell, taste

Are there any breed-specific chicken breeders that you'd consider particularly reliable?
Please do your own research about the breeders in your area (or far away). I suggest using facebook and joining groups for the specific breeds you are interested in and asking for recommendations as those people are going to know way more about their breeds breeders then i do. I know my own local breeders i would go to for specific breeds if i was interested but i do not have permission to post their names on my blog. Like most livestock finding good stock that works for you requires your own time and effort and Facebook is one of the best places do that. Lets say im interested in Large fowl Brahmas. I could join the "Brahma Chickens in the USA" facebook group to try to find a breeder who breeds birds the way i like or if im interested in heritage bred brahmas id check out the Livestock conservancies list of breeders and If im interested in show quality birds i would go to the American Brahma Clubs website and look at their breeder directory. You can pretty much apply that sort of thinking to any breed to try to find a breeder who works for you.

Shortwave Radiogram, 5-9 October 2023 (program 325): Digital modes underground and in deep space
WRMI in Florida has changed its internet service provider. This will increase the speed of content uploads by WRMI's program makers. Let's hope everything goes smoothly this weekend, but please report any anomalies. If you are in the USA, did your hear the FEMA emergency alert test on Wednesday? I have a Sangean portable radio that receives HD channels on both FM and AM. Some of the HD broadcasters send signals that make radios like mine turn on and display text during these emergency alerts. My radio displayed the text sent via WETA, 90.9 MHz. But I later learned from the fine print in the manual that the radio will not turn on from the off position unless the AC adapter is being used. i will try that during the monthly November test here in Virginia. This is the time of year that photos of fall foliage abound. This weekend's show will feature only one red leaf, and a photo of pumpkins and gourds. But expect more seasonable images later in October.   A video of last weekend's Shortwave Radiogram (program 324) is provided by Scott in Ontario (Friday 1300 UTC). The audio archive is maintained by Mark in the UK. Analysis is provided by Roger in Germany. Here is the lineup for Shortwave Radiogram, program 325, 5-9 October 2023, in MFSK modes as noted:  1:40  MFSK32: Program preview  2:48  MFSK32: NASA craft to continue exploring deep space  6:31  MFSK64: Underground wireless communication may be possible 11:02  MFSK64: This week's images 28:01  MFSK32: Closing announcements Please send reception reports to [email protected] And visit http://swradiogram.net Twitter: @SWRadiogram or https://twitter.com/swradiogram (visit during the weekend to see listeners’ results) Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/567099476753304 Shortwave Radiogram Gateway Wiki: https://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/Shortwave_Radiogram_Gateway

BREAKING NEWS: House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries unleashes a crushing attack on Republicans and they deserve everything they get for failing to fund the government as a shutdown looms — and exposes exactly why they're doing it. These anarchists in my opinion must go! "We the People" who think from our heads and not our pockets are finished with you. Take your soap boxes somewhere else because your days are numbered.
"If we find ourselves dealing with an extreme MAGA Republican shutdown what will it all be for?" asked Jeffries on the floor of the House, and how stupid can the Republicans be. In today's digital age, it is impossible to think you can just erase history.
"Well this week is very revealing because we're considering bills — including the one that is before us right now — that have zero chance of becoming law," he said bluntly. "Zero chance!"
"And they're filled with extreme policy poison pills relating to things like cutting Social Security, criminalizing abortion care, slashing public school funding, taking food out of the mouths of women, infants, and children, hurting the ability of veterans and seniors to meet and make ends meet," he said.
"That's why the government will shut down! Because extreme MAGA Republicans have determined that you want to try to jam your right-wing ideology down the throats of the American people and if we don't pay that ransom note you want to shut the government down."
Jeffries is absolutely spot on. The utterly spineless Speaker Kevin McCarthy can't pass a funding bill because the fascist wing of his party has hijacked the proceedings to demand truly insane, deeply unpopular concessions.
This is what happens when Republicans are given control of Congress. Things grind to a complete halt and the government falls apart. In my opinion, Mr. Jefferies is a fine young man who deserves better than he is getting from our ignorant uneducated hypocrites and bigots in America who have no idea of reality around them from within the vacuum they live.
Americans need to remember this next election. Putting Republicans in power shoots our entire nation in the foot, and the masses will not accept your trash thinking or you personally wherever you try to hide.
