Gotcha - Theme from “Starsky and Hutch” (Tom Scott)
The first season's theme was written by Lalo Schifrin. Tom Scott wrote Gotcha for the second season, then Mark Snow wrote the theme of season 3, and Gotcha returned for the fourth and final season in a revamped version.
There are many covers of this theme, but this is probably the only one with three guitars.
Kythara–Erico Maria Milanesi (acc. guitar), Michele Pucci (flamenco guitar), Francesco Bertolini (jazz guitar)

Film: L’INFERNO (d. Francesco Bertolini, Adolfo Padovan, Giuseppe De Liguoro, 1911, Italy)
Forum: Logan Center   Format: 4K Digital
Observations: What a marvelous program: the screening of a 2021 restoration by L’Immagine Ritrovata Lab of the Cineteca di Bologna, accompanied live by Stefano Maccagno (piano) and Furio Di Castri (bass). This has been touring around the USA for a while now; this is the first appearance in Chicago. Advertised as a "feature," it is more akin to a series of trick films connected by intertitles. Very cleverly done. About 90-100 in attendance.

SUNFLOWERS
Primo's presence announcing itself with the thundering of the Alfetta... *chef's kiss*
(The music is going thumping bass like the Jaws theme lol)
SKY BLUE SUIT ALERT
(babe put a belt on the next time your pants are falling)
When you have to negotiate a kidnapping at 3 but you have an audition with Village People at 5
Primo: "wasn't he supposed to stay tied up?"
(Internally: do I have to fucking teach you how to treat your kidnapped people?)
That hat is so silly... he looks like he's going out to gather grapes or something
CHANGE OF MANAGEMENT
FOCUS BLEP FOCUS BLEP
(Primo literally grabs Paulie by the scruff of his neck jfc)
Holy SHIT those are 100k lire banknotes
Berto: "look, if you don't want him there's an American in Rome that offers a lot of money, much more than you for sure"
THEN WHY THE FUCK DIDN'T YOU JUST TAKE CHACE'S MONEY YOU DUMBASS
Primo: "ah no, Bertolì, we have an agreement"
Berto: "a deal's a deal. Put the money there and let's leave things as they are, please."
The please is quite interesting, also the way Primo looks at the gun... like. Are you really threatening me with that little thing?
THE MOST SCENE OF ALL TIME IS HERE

Dread by the Decade: L'Inferno
👻 My Kofi ❤️
Tumblr media
English Title: The Inferno Source Material: Inferno by Dante Alighieri Year: 1911 Genre: Occult, Dark Fantasy, Surrealist Rating: Unrated (Suggested: PG-13 for nudity and violence) Country of Origin: Italy Language: Silent Runtime: 1 hour 11 minutes
Tumblr media
Directors: Francesco Bertolini, Adolfo Padovan, Giuseppe De Liguoro Cinematographer: Emilio Roncarolo Writer: Dante Alighieri Composer: Raffaele Caravaglios; Tangerine Dream Cast: Salvatore Papa, Arturo Pirovano, Giuseppe de Liguoro, Augusto Milla, Attilio Motta, Emilise Beretta
Tumblr media
Plot: Dante is guided by the poet, Virgil, through Hell.
Review: The first feature length film in Italian history, this is a faithful adaptation rife with stunning technical feats and surrealism.
Overall Rating: 4/5
Tumblr media
Story: 4/5 - Great adaptation that sometimes suffers from meandering.
Performances: 3/5 - Papa and Pirovano do little beyond mime speech, but the damned are wonderfully dramatic.
Cinematography: 4/5 - Just stunning.
Tumblr media
Music: 4/5 - The original score was lost, but Tangerine Dream’s official re-score is haunting, if a little repetitive.
Effects: 5/5 - Amazing! Forced perspective, puppets, wire work, and more create nightmarish replicas of Antonio Manetti’s illustrations.
Sets: 5/5 - Beautiful mix of real locations, matte paintings, and sets.
Costumes and Make-Up: 3.5/5 - Most of the characters are nude, but the costumes that are present are quite decent.

Trigger Warnings:
Violence and mild gore
Offensive depiction of the Prophet Muhammad
Suicide
Torture
Extreme Catholic ideology (ex: suicide and sex are sinful)
