If i did a series on ‘building a practical wardrobe on a dime’ would people be interested? I’ve been talking with people about my thrifting mission and they’re intrigued by my concept of a ‘permanent, practical wardrobe’ which is basically maximizing functionality while minimizing quantity and spending. I would cover how to find/identify sturdy clothing that will last, how to tailor certain garments, how big a functional wardrobe is, etc. it’s been a fun experiment and I’d love to talk about it if it’s a topic people are interested in hearing about.

Dr Dray - STOP BUYING THESE SKIN CARE PRODUCTS & WHAT TO BUY INSTEAD | DR DRAY
Go right ahead and just use the same moisturizer that you use on your body to your face as well. It's just as appropriate and it's cheaper, that's what a dermatologist says.
1. Use body lotion on face instead of facial moisturizers, the skin on both areas are essentially the same 2. Use moisturizer (lotion works here, too) instead of aftershave 3. Swap eye sunscreen with your lip sunscreen (vanicream) 4. Ditch Vit C deritives to retinol for collegen production 5. Neosporin to Vaselin (generic is fine instead of name brand), the antibiotics aren't great & can cause contact dermatitis 6. To increase skin cell turnover stop with scrubs (causes skin peeling and irritation) instead moisturize with facial oils, apply over the dry flaking area 7. Deodorant with essential oils irritate, use Panzoyl peroxide in shower 8. 🚫 DHT products.   ✅️ leave anti dandruff shampoo on a few minutes 9. Avoid enzyme peels (papaya, pineapple extracts, etc) switch for alpha hydroxy acids, they're better to stimulate skin cell turnerover (sensitive skins use POLY hydroxy acids if alpha's too strong) 10. Drug store over "medical grade" products, essentially the same just different targeted audiences. *Cereve v Skinceuticles were mainly the same with the exception that Skinceuticals had fragrance, check her video out if interested* 11. Sunscreen and subscribe

How I Embrace a Car-Free Lifestyle and Invest in High-End Fashion: A European-Inspired Approach to Saving Money
As a fashion enthusiast and a self-proclaimed finance geek, I often get asked how I can afford to invest in high-end fashion while also living a frugal lifestyle. The truth is, I’ve made some unconventional choices when it comes to my finances. I’ve chosen to live car-free, pack my lunch, and prioritize my investments. Here’s why.
I live in America, but I have always been drawn to the European way of life. I love the idea of walking or taking public transportation to get around. Not only is it better for the environment, but it’s also a great way to stay active and save money. By choosing to live car-free, I’ve been able to save thousands of dollars per year on car payments, gas, maintenance, and insurance.
But my frugal lifestyle doesn’t stop at transportation. I also make a conscious effort to pack my lunch instead of eating out. This not only saves me money, but it also allows me to have more control over what I eat and how much I spend on food.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. How can I afford to invest in high-end fashion and skincare products if I’m living so frugally? It’s simple: I prioritize my investments. I firmly believe that investing in high-quality pieces is worth the investment. These pieces not only last longer, but they also hold their value over time.
When it comes to fashion, I love investing in classic pieces that will never go out of style. A great blazer or a timeless handbag will never go out of style, and I know I’ll get years of use out of them. Plus, by choosing high-quality pieces, I can be sure that they’ll withstand the test of time and won’t fall apart after a few wears.
The same goes for skincare products. Investing in high-quality products not only ensures that my skin is getting the best care possible, but it also saves me money in the long run. By using high-quality products, I can be sure that I’m not wasting money on products that don’t work or that I’ll have to replace after a few weeks.
So, what’s the bottom line? Living a frugal lifestyle doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your love of fashion or skincare. By prioritizing your investments, you can have the best of both worlds. By living car-free and packing my lunch, I’ve been able to save thousands of dollars per year. And by investing in high-quality pieces, I know that I’m getting my money’s worth.
In conclusion, my financial philosophy is all about living a balanced life. I prioritize my investments and make conscious choices when it comes to my daily habits. By doing so, I’ve been able to afford the things I love without sacrificing my financial goals. So, if you’re looking for a way to balance your love of fashion with your financial goals, consider making some unconventional choices and prioritize your investments.

10 Jumpers for the price of 1: How to shop for autumn/winter on a budget
If you want to refresh your wardrobe for autumn/winter but have a budget to stick to, here's a handy way to save money when you're clothes shopping - and maybe get multiple items for the same cost as one full-price piece...
Some items have been gifted Earlier this month I stood shivering in front of my wardrobe and realised that I had hardly any jumpers to keep me warm this autumn. I always enjoy getting out my baskets of winter clothing but this year, I seem to be seriously lacking in warm pieces. It spurred me on to write about cosy ways to wear your summer wardrobe all year round, and those ideas solved my…

Something I'm jealous of ladies is the wildly large range of wardrobe and hairstyles you can play with. Wild range of makeup, clothes matching, and hairstyles to give completely different tones and vibes.
I'm not saying about wearing traditional clothes and going goth the next day. But just having flowy hair at casual setting and tying a ponytail through the back hoop of a cap when jogging.
I know men can do that too, and I'm doing it, just super slowly.
My parents, although well off, are very careful with money. I think it's ingrained habits left when we were not well off and when my dad was working his butt off.
We always buyed Grade D eggs or lower. I don't like omelet anymore because breaking eggs is like Kinder Eggs Surprise where you can either get a yolk or a rotting fetus. I'd say, "ma, we got stop doing this".
Clothes have always been hands-me-downs. Shirts always baggy and pants always loose because if you buy a size bigger, they'll last years longer. Sometimes, I feel like we are villagers living on a million dollar property.
When I was 22 like Taylor Swift sang about, studied abroad, and got my first green dollars, I was like "no ma, I want fitting clothes". Hell, I want them tight.
Carried the new shiny buckos and got myself 5 different coloured plain shirts from Uniqlo. Spending AU$50 for 5 shirts felt like heresy at the time. Felt like my ma was giving me disapproving looks through the receipt.
I'm not a sexy man but I felt the confidence of going on the catwalk. Self consciousness of trying to be invisible changed to are these people giving me admired looks? Like I'm too sexy for Milan but milder. I wasn't hot but I felt dangerous. Nah, actualIy I felt kinda hot.
Kept a long hair instead of the buzz cut I was told to have for 21 years. I wished I could go to the barber and they would have a Venom Snake MGSV poster beside the big mirrors, and I'll put my pointing finger on that, It'll make a light thwack, and I'll say "I'll have it like that".
I still am trying to build the habit of buying good fashion items. Trying to break the feeling of if I make a tiny financial mistake here, the bad decisions will compound and I'll declare bankruptcy. Habit of too much research before buying something, I end up not buying anything.
Yeah, I got some savvy money skills out of my upbringing but hell, it feels crippling most of the time.
So yes, I'll buy that specific conditioner from a specific brand because of its specific ingredient to address a specific issue with my hair. I'm trying to give myself less guilt over it.
Yeah, I'll join my friends to dinner at that place where it feels like the food price is more to fund the shop's aesthetic rather than to cover the meal cost.
Being a young adult gives some problems but damn I never had this much disposable income to fund my solutions. I'm mid-miserable but at the happiest point of my life right now. Your boy got coffers.
And yeah, I wanna be kinda sexy. Fuckin dress up, bitch.

I love Jane Austen's work and I love podcasts, so naturally I follow several JA podcasts (please drop recs in the tags). I'm enjoying Live from Pemberley from Hot and Bothered, but a comment from literally the first episode of the series has been circulating in my brain since I listened to it several months ago: one of the hosts expressed surprise (and disappointment?) in the fact that when we first meet Lizzy, she is "employed in trimming a hat". This comment literally comes right after a conversation about how Austen tells us so much in the very short space of Chapter 1; without wasting any words, we know exactly who Mr. and Mrs. Bennet are (lightly toxic relationship), understand their family situation (need to marry well), meet the main driver of the first act (rich man in the neighbourhood), and understand a social dilemma (girls can't meet him if Mr. Bennet does not make the first overture). So what is Austen telling us when we meet Lizzy in the employment of trimming a hat?
We so often read a sort of modern girlboss feminism into Lizzy because she is smart and stands up for herself, but I think that's something that really gets embroidered on to the text. Lizzy trimming a bonnet is telling us several things about her:
She is frugal - new hats and bonnets are really expensive (my casual hobby is shopping for reproduction bonnets and this remains true), because the straw is braided by hand, the bonnet shape is assembled and blocked by hand, feathers have to be gathered from real (living or dead) birds, ribbons and flowers are hand-finished, the whole situation is fuck expensive. Lizzy is most likely putting new trim on a straw or wool bonnet she already owns to make it work better for this season's fashions, or a new dress, and possibly recycling trimmings from other hats. Contrast this with Lydia's spending all her pocket money on an ugly hat in Chapter 39, just so she can reduce it to parts, even though she acknowledges she'll also have to buy some extra satin too, to finish the project.
She cares about fashion - we don't get a lot of information on sartorial choices in Austen's work, and when characters are discussing fashion, it tends to be a framework for explaining something about their characters; Miss Steele's need to know how much Marianne's dresses cost (rude, crass); Mrs. Bennet's loving description of the lace on Mrs. Hurst's gown (shallow); Catherine Moreland's agonizing over what to wear to the Assembly (young, a bit flighty); Bingley wears a blue coat (has probably read The Sorrows of Young Werther, is fashionable). The fact that Lizzy is trimming a hat tells us she is fashionable, but paired with the fact that she will get a petticoat muddy in order to see her sister, and does not spend a lot of time worrying after fashion like Lydia tells us that she does not live and die on fashion.
She is creative - I've trimmed various hats and bonnets over my years of interest in historical fashion and honestly it's not easy. It's quite fiddly to get a nice ribbon edge, a ruched lining takes forever, and getting sprays of florals and feathers to be nicely shaped and all in a complementary palette is quite fussy. Getting a nice looking bonnet requires some thinking and planning. But it's also great fun! The Regency era is, in my opinion, a particularly good period for hats.
She is normal - I think Austen wants the reader to understand that Lizzy is a young woman with normal cares and concerns. She doesn't have cash for a new bonnet, she wants to look nice, she knows how to put an outfit together, she's not frivolous like her sisters, and she engages in the typical pursuits of someone who is not yet one and twenty who does not have a specific occupation.
A lot of modern readers are expecting Lizzy to be striding around the countryside unconcerned with "girly" things, or reading a clever book because we have come to think of her as proto-feminist in a way that suggests she might be a bra (corset) burner, but I think that comes from an outdated feminist lens that still wants to tell us that girly things are bad, or at least, a bit weak, and I don't see that in the text at all (I think some of this trickles over from the adaptations). Lizzy walks enthusiastically, she enjoys reading (but not to the exclusion of other employments), she dances very well and plays with mediocrity, she cares deeply about her friends and family, she has excellent manners, and dammit, she trims hats.

🌹 atomtanned's Trait-Based Chemistry
I've used @lilbabydilljr's Turn-Ons & Turn-Offs for a while now, and I love that he added in 3t2 traits when calculating chemistry. I wanted to tweak it for my game, and I finally learned how to do so. This is a heavily-modified version of his mod, so most of the credit goes to him - I just added/removed traits and changed some images and text strings.
Like any mod that involves traits, this requires @hexagonal-bipyramid's Easy Inventory Check.
This is definitely the most involved BHAV editing I've done yet, so please let me know if you find any errors, as it's a bit hard to test in game.
UPDATE: If you use Clean UI (or any other UI mod that uses Clean UI as a base) this mod will need to load after. Or you can delete the turn-on images that are included with that mod.
UPDATE 2: @cityof2morrow let me know that this mod (and I believe any other custom turnon/turnoff mods) also conflict with NickM406's No More Loading the * Family mod. Thank you!!
✨ DOWNLOAD: SFS / PATREON / MF
