okay, i think any time anyone asks what superpower we’d like to have most everyone on this website would say shapeshifting but what kind of shapeshifting would you like
type 1- wild shape, you can turn into any animal, real or fictional
type 2- mystique, you can turn into any real person
type 3- cosplay, you can turn into any humanoid fictional character
type 4- jake the dog, you’re super stretchy
type 5- character creator, you can alter your own appearance- like changing voice hair length texture color, changing height and weight, transing gender, etc, but you can’t add anything non-human (ie horns, wings, claws, etc)
type 6- additional features, you can add things like snake eyes, horns, cat ears, tail, claws, wings, mermaid tail, but you remain humanoid overall and can’t change things like height or gender presentation or hair color. you can still change your voice tho
type 7- were-wolf, we all know what a werewolf is, lads. can be any kind of animal. can be straight up wolf or more monstrous wolf form that’s up to you.
type 8- furry, you just become your fursona. or any kind of fursona really you can change between them
type 9- antman, can become small or big
type 10- other, say what kind ya want

Just finished watching Yorknew City arc and the Phantom Troupe makes me sick.
The spiders are a group of vicious, unrepentant killers. They killed Kurapika’s whole clan, at one point they almost torture the kids. Truly, they’re terrible people.
And at the same time, they’re so human. They play cards, bicker like siblings, arm wrestle each other for fun, mourn their dead. Right before her death, Pakunoda meows at a stray cat.
They’re a fucked up family. Once upon a time, they were a less fucked up family, one that wasn’t afraid to show care for each other. Until Sarasa was brutally murdered and it all fell apart. They were kids once, but from then on they became closed off, pretending not to care about each other beyond practical necessity because caring too much would inevitably lead to pain. Their cold view of their own lives doesn’t even hold when one of their own is killed—look at what happened with Uvogin. And that’s only one example.
Even Gon comes to recognize their humanity. The first time the kids are captured, he gets mad enough to blow up at Nobunaga.
here it comes…
Gon here is struggling to reconcile his hatred of the spiders (for how they’ve killed Kurapika’s clan) with his observations of the spiders as humans who can grieve their friends.
Compare this to the next time he lashes out at one of the spiders later in the arc—this time yelling at Phinks rather than Nobunaga.
Crucially, this outburst is a response to Phinks and Feitan thinking that Pakunoda and Machi have been manipulated by the chain user. Gon is getting angry on their behalf, which is pretty incredible considering they’ve just kidnapped him for the second time.
After this panel, there’s more. When Phinks accuses Gon of only saying that because he wants to leave, Gon breaks his chains and says “…take back what you just said.” He’s even angrier now, acting personally offended.
This is part of why I love Gon as a character. He has a stunning ability to emphasize with anyone, which clashes with his tendency toward black and white thinking.
Honestly I think this is part of what broke Gon during the chimera ant arc. When Pitou genuinely apologized, he wasn’t able to handle the…cognitive dissonance of it all.
Wow I really went on a tangent. Whoops. Anyway…I just think Gon’s neat.

genre savvy total drama contestant who, in their infinite genius, orchestrates their own enemies-to-lovers plotline in an attempt to stay plot relevant enough to make it to the finals.
they spend the first couple of challenges picking out their 'enemy' from the crowd, then approach them quietly to avoid the others' suspicions (and the cameras too) suggesting their plan.
"listen, the two most popular total drama couples? duncney and aleheather. both enemies to lovers, and both couples made it super far into the competition. this is a reality tv show, as long as we're entertaining enough we're guaranteed a spot in the merge at least, and nothing engages the viewers more than a 'will they won't they' dynamic. we'll be ratings gold!"
"alright, but why me? i don't hate you."
"i don't hate you either. in fact, i think you're pretty cool. it doesn't have to be a real rivalry, it's all an act. but if we can keep up the act for long enough, our 'rivalry' can evolve into something more, if you catch my drift. the plotline practically writes itself... plus, it'd be pretty funny to pretend to hate each other, right?"
"hmm. you make a good point. how can you guarantee we'll both make it to the merge?"
"that's down to the network. and, i guess, how well we sell ourselves to the audience. that's why i'm thinking enemies-to-lovers; it's compelling and marketable and people eat it up every time. the execs would never let two of their biggest audience retention generators leave the show too early."
"what about the lovers part? i barely even know you, and you want us to pretend to fall in love?"
"eh, semantics. how hard could it be? holding hands, long romantic walks across the beach. i know how to stage kiss, if that's an issue!"
also the genre savvy character is aroace, but their commitment to the plan overshadows their personal misgivings in faking their enamourment.
