GJEJFJSJDJS I MADE THIS ANIMATION IN A LITTLE OVER A MONTH.

Okay, so it's been a while, and I haven't posted much because this thing's been sitting in flipalip for a bit.

There's a lot to say, but know that this is not my au, and in fact belongs to @13thdoodle! I got into the au the same time I started listening to this song again, and while it may not work in the canon of the au, I just wanted to animate something with it. Do support them, and thanks so much for the brainrot!

Now it'll be a bit, so I'll put the rest under a cut to make things easier.

The song is "The Good Child and the Fox Spirit" by Kikuo!

This took forever to do because of the shading and backgrounds. It's my first ever fully colored and shaded animation, so there's that!

Some of the animation is a bit janky, especially with our little fox here, and I'll be the first to admit that. I realized halfway through the lineart that I can't draw animals, and that was almost enough for me to scrap this altogether, but a flawed result is still better than a result never received, so there's that.

Don't even get me started on the shading, though. There was no clipping masks, or add layers. I settled for a hard light, but man.

Oh, but most importantly! Note that the Japanese on the "Possess me, possess me, did you possess me?" Could be a little inaccurate since I mostly got the Japanese from the vocaloid wiki, and had to seperate it in the animation captions. I'm not sure if I had cut it properly, so it may be inaccurate.

Also, there wasn't an extra "lonely" in the 3rd line, but I decided to add it in because it felt better for keeping the rhythm.

I also debated adding the Romaji text, but decided against it since I felt like it would clutter the animation.

I can't believe I wanted to make this a full animation of the entire song at first. I'm glad I didn't, honestly.

KAT'S 2022 YEAR REVIEW & THANK YOU NOTE

well hello there everyone. i'm not sure if this is still a thing this year because i haven't seen anyone doing this (or i just wasn't tagged in one at all sdjfkfkf) but that won't stop me from writing another year review and saying thank you to my wonderful internet friends!

at the end of last year i finally moved out of my parents house so i've been officially living alone for a whole year now and i'm proud to announce that i still live haha its not easy sometimes and it's hella expensive but i enjoy it nonetheless. i continued decorating and furnishing my apartment and it slowly but surely became my comfy little corner on this earth and im very proud of it :3

i know i said last year sucked and i was hoping for a better one in 2022 but boy oh boy was i wrong lmao

this year was shite. like utter shite. i didn't get a job that i enjoy doing or pays well BUT at least i still have a job lol the job sucks and sometimes i wanna jump out from the 3rd floor window but i managed to make wonderful friends among my colleagues so i'm definitely thankful for that. i only work there for 7 months but i already feel like we've known each for years and they definitely make working there bareable.

this year i also finally get to meet my bff (braincell for life), Ariana (@queenofthefaceless) in person and i am very much grateful for that. i'm sad no more meeting could happen in the rest of the year but maybe in the next one 😉❤

towards the end of the year i started working out again because i gained a little bit of weight and altough i became much more confident this year, it started to bother me so i'm proud of myself for not letting it slide and now i'm mostly focusing on getting my strength back i used to have instead of being the couch potato i was all year lol and one of my new years revolution for 2023 is to eat healthier and work out even more.

and yes i am still not over the fact that you guys putting out those wonderful fics for us for free. you still rock !! 💜💜

next year i will continue to hope for a better job, one that i enjoy and pays better (or at least one of these lol) and to be even more confident and open to new things ( and finding a rich husband 🙏)

An Art of Balance - Author's Notes

The End.

Wow, I still can’t quite believe it. I can’t wrap my head around the fact that “An Art of Balance”/ “AoB” / “that goddamn story that costs me my last nerve” or however I have called it over the last 6 months is really and truly over.

How far we’ve come together.

Who would have thought what this little idea I had in my head back in December and that wouldn’t let me sleep until I had written half of the first chapter down would turn into. When I started drafting the plot, it was intended to be a little, about 18 chapters worth of story to get my dormant writing skills back into swing before starting on a more complex work I wanted to do. I hadn’t written a single word of prose in almost 15 years at that point.

Now, half a year, about 110k words and a lot of incredibly great friends later, look what this story has turned into.

Thank you to every single one of you who took the time out of their day to read about Lizzie, Orion, Skye, Charlie and all the others. You have no idea how much I appreciated every single like, kudos, reblog and comment. I love you all with all of my heart.

So, is that the end of Lizzie’s and Orion’s story? Well… it was supposed to. But I realised that we’re not quite there yet, I still have one or two (or many) things I need to tell you about.

I have several bonus chapters I still need to write, which is why the story isn’t marked as closed yet. My next immediate project featuring them will be a Band/Rockstar AU in collaboration with my dearest @the-al-chemist. Simultaneously, I’m working on the second instalment of “An Art of Balance” called “A Search for Balance” (or SfB as you may have seen in some tags) and a Warcraft AU.

And who knows, maybe one day I will actually be able to write that Charlie x MC fic as well. xD

NWSL - my best possible break down but it probably won’t be any good

OL Reign- the sister club of the French OL. Home to Megan Rapinoe. They have had a ton of different names and used to be really good. Have fallen off a bit recently but have a lot of good young talent that is promising. Also have Jess Fishlock. So lots of good players there.

Portland Thorns- probably the most supported NWSL team. Had a ton of Aussies once. Now they have a lot of rookies and it’s basically a new era for them after losing a good amount of core players due to trades and what not. They also have a lot of young talent but still veryyy good. They like to fight and have a huge rivalry with OL because location and another big rivalry with KC (formally Utah)

KC WOSO- formally Utah Royals but their owner was a douchebag. I don’t know a ton about them expect that they have some good promising talent (Victoria Pickett is one example). They like the color teal and played a good game against the Thorns so they seem like a good team to watch.

Houston Dash- the 2020 challenge cup champions (they won’t let you forget it). Have Kristie Mewis and Rachel Daly. They have been known as not so good for a long time but had a break out season last year. Have a solid team but can be boring to watch sometimes

Chicago Red Stars- the team that always makes it to the playoffs but never wins. The former home of Sam Kerr (her name still gets brought up every game). Have a very good veteran core of players. Are a good team but need to find a way to score without Sam Kerr. They also have a ton of USWNT players when they are all healthy.

Orlando Pride- the team with all the good players but are bad. And that sums it up. No but they have Marta, Alex Morgan, Ashlyn Harris, Ali Krieger just to name a few. Can be boring to watch and not the most fun to support due to lack of wins. Hopefully they can figure it out this season.

Racing Louisville- the newbies. Who had a really bad draft strategy. But anyways, watching them on Saturday was FUN. Their team is a lot of young players or players who never had great chances with other clubs along with a few NWSL veterans (Yuki Nagasato to name one). I’m honestly excited to see where they go although I’m, personally, not expecting anything crazy since they seem to have a small team and they are brand new.

North Carolina Courage- the “underdogs” or so they like to think. One of the most dominant teams in recent history for the NWSL yet they still like to call themselves underdogs. Became more likable to fans once Hinkle retired. (Not by much tho). Like to play a box midfield and score goals. I’m not really sure where they are going to end up this year because last year they were beatable.

Washington Spirit- (this is my team but I’ll try and keep my bias out) the youngest team in the league. A very possession oriented team who like to play out of the back. Had a VERY busy offseason and acquired a ton of players like Sonnett, O’Hara, Julia Roddar of Sweden, and a few more. Very young with a lot of upcoming talent (Trinity Rodman, Ashley Sanchez, Tegan McGrady to name a few). Want to play a three back this year. Oh also have Andi Sullivan. But yeah, possession! And all their fans want better kits because they are boring

Gotham FC- formally known as Sky Blue FC but rebranded very recently. Home to Grandma, I mean Carli Lloyd. Located in NY/NJ. I honestly don’t know a ton about them except that they have long been known as a bottom of the table team and honestly have the talent now to try and not make that happen.

So yeah, that’s my guide to the NWSL. Sorry it was so long but I hope it can help somebody!!

Psychedelic Kicks is such an original story, and one that showcases so much of @klarolineagainnaturally‘s talents as a writer. Historical fanfic is almost never set in the 60s, and she not only chose this very peculiar decade, but did an AMAZING job to incorporate as many aspects of such a rich period into her story. And she did not shy away from the social unrest or other difficult matters. Lottie’s attention to detail is superb, and it really shows in Psychedelic Kicks.

This is an ensemble story that has Klaroline at heart, but that gives every other character a moment to shine. The KC part of the story is a delicious slow burn that has you screaming for them to get together already, and then rewards you with brilliant, brilliant moments, all the while still leaving some lingering issues there to be smoothed out until the end. And while you delight in suffering for these two idiots in love, you also get to enjoy the supporting cast.

Lottie made me fall in love with characters I never had an inch of sympathy for - Katherine, Kol, Stefan, Marcel, Elena! Even the characters who present themselves as “unlikable” - Tyler, Damon and Hayley - are still addressed with such fairness that it is truly amazing. And that’s the other thing here - @klarolineagainnaturally builds relationships of all kinds with mindfulness and care and it is so, so, so great! Particularly her female relationships, whether it’s a friendly one or not, they’re all so well done!

This fic writes a journey and it is a beautiful and delicious one. And the best part is: it’s now complete! 💖 Thank you so much for writing, Lottie! 💖 And please, go read this story and shower the writer with love because she SO deserves it!

I’ve been tagged in a lot of these, I don’t usually write them due to fear of missing people. I do have a tendency to ramble, but if you’re following me, you probably know that already. This is going to get long, warning in advance here. These paragraphs will definitely vary in length, it depends on how much I have to say about people. Side note: I’m working on leaving more comments on people’s work in general and getting over my comment anxiety. I try to spread love via asks to people, everyone in this fandom has so many things which makes them individual and a wonderful part of this fandom. In addition, these might get super lovey dovey, but that’s just me in a nutshell here.

In no particular order, without further ado:

@kiki-the-creator is a very talented writer. I especially love their Marisol related fic, headcanon related posts, both their Lottie fics and their Priya fic. They are a very kind person, and have showed love and appreciation for my fics in general. I was inspired to write by multiple people and KC was definitely one of those people. Marisol is my favourite character and LI, and they definitely do her justice in their fics. I regularly reread their Marisol oneshots in particular along with a lot of their fics, I don’t reread much fic in general. I love the way they write, they’re one of my favourite writers.

@lucas-koh is really talented. Whiskey on Your Lips is one of my favourite fics, (I have a lot of favourites) and she’s really kind. She’s an amazing beta reader and really great with giving me honest opinions on my content in general. I definitely see her as a friend. Stitches is also pretty awesome, I still need to catch up when I get the chance!

@ariendiel is amazing. Her Noah fics were part of the reason I ended up converted to a Noah stan, and both Rosehill House and The Triumph of Time are amazing,and some of my favourite Noah fics. Also she writes amazing short stories. Her content in general is wonderful, the analysis she did with @garyandhisnan about Noah stands out in particular. Being able to explore possible reasons for Noah’s behaviour in LITG was definitely interesting to me, especially as someone who relates to Noah. Also she’s been very supportive in terms of my fics and oneshots.

@codename-mango is a really talented artist, and I love their art. I also regularly see them in my notifications and they’re really active in general. Their LITG characters as Pokémon series was so original and definitely interested me, being a Pokémon fan myself.

@nerdferatum is another talented artist and I really love her art. She’s also very supportive and has an amazing blog. I love her LITG related drawings and her art in general.

@bellarxse is an amazing writer. The Motion of Heavenly Bodies is my favourite S3 related fic and I really love her writing. She writes a lot of Marisol related content and I love the stuff she writes for Marisol and Maeve. She’s also really supportive too, she’s been really helpful in terms of fic help.

@voile-de-lune has made some wonderful moodboards recently, which I really love. They’re pretty new, but super talented.

@garyandhisnan has a lot of headcanons and memes which are amazing. I love to see their opinions on things, I love their blog.

@cloveroctobers writes detailed headcanon lists with gorgeous moodboards to go with them. They’re really interesting to read and are super in depth.

@ravenadottir is a really talented writer. Their Priya and Lottie fics are some of my favourites for f/f. They also have excellent headcanons and their fics are so great. They’re also really kind, and their fics are part of the reason I was inspired to start writing. They were one of the first people I talked to about LCBC, and one of my first friends in the fandom.

@mrsgaryrennell is an amazing writer and part of the Blue and Hazel duo. Blue and Hazel is my favourite Gary related fic. It’s also nice to see some Gary love, she has really great opinions.

@kingkassam has amazing moodboards and social media AUs and is super original. They were one of the first people I showed LCBC to. We don’t talk as much anymore, but I love the content they create. They’re an iconic part of the fandom and really amazing.

@americangrunge is really amazing. Nothing Gold Can Stay is amazing, I regularly reread it. It’s one of my favourite oneshots and it’s so cathartic to see Bobby actually getting some of the blame for Operation Nope. Things Like Chemistry is also amazing, I love Marzipan! I love AU fics, and that one is also one of my faves. She’s also super cool in general.

@daisybarks is so kind. I love her fic Coming Home so much, it literally makes my Sundays great. She’s really amazing and has written wonderful headcanons for Marisol and Priya.

@another-lottie-simp is amazing and super supportive and creates a lot of Lottie content. As a fellow Lottie fan, it’s great to see her getting some love. Love the islanders in different seasons series.

@crvsh-culture the headcanons and oneshots are really great. I love the Lucas and Marisol content in particular.

@bubblybabynailpolish is super funny and really supportive. Her blog is amazing and one of my favourites. I love her edits, headcanons and her writing. Her Marisol fics are awesome, and she’s part of the reason I’ve been converted into a Noah stan. I love her writing in general, it really draws my attention. She’s also amazing for putting up with my ramblings and super weird questions. She’s also been so helpful regarding fic and edit opinions.

@venueska has amazing edits and fic. One of my favourites of hers is her Hannah/Lottie oneshot and her Blake oneshot, but it’s so difficult to pick favourites. I’ve reread her oneshots multiple times, I adore her writing style, and she’s really great in general.

@deuchess is an amazing artist who has a lot of gorgeous art. She also has a lot of amazing headcanons and is really great.

@ajs-wife has been super supportive regarding LCBC and my writing in general. They’re awesome and give me really detailed and helpful feedback. They’re also super supportive and really great to talk to. They’re an amazing friend and super kind.

@lilithlibrxa has amazing icons and I love her blog. I was always interested in astrology but her blog has helped me learn more. She’s super supportive and always reblogs my content.

@bobbyboops is amazing and super kind. She isn’t that active anymore but is someone I see as a friend. Her fic Cheers Darlin’ is amazing and I love her writing.

HPHM MC X Preferred Ship Questions: 5 & 7 (Carewyn & Orion)

Where was their first date to and how did it go?

Hahaha, this is kind of hard to say, because Carewyn and Orion’s “courtship” -- like their relationship in general -- didn’t really follow a traditional trajectory. By the time they admitted they were romantically interested, they were both pretty in love with each other by that point, so they didn’t go through a lot of the traditional dating anxiety.

That being said, when Carewyn and Orion first reconnected post-War (around the time when Orion knew he had budding romantic feelings for Carewyn, but hadn’t articulated them), the first time that Carewyn actively invited him to stay for dinner prompted some nerves in him. Carewyn’s ward Erik had started his first year at school at that point and Orion had asked Eos’s godparents KC @kc-needs-coffee and McNully to watch her for an afternoon, so it meant that they’d be completely alone together. There was a slight snafu when Carewyn realized for the first time that Orion was a vegetarian, and so the steak and kidney pie she’d purchased at the market would be inappropriate. Fortunately Orion -- upon seeing the contents of Carewyn’s fridge -- came up with the unconventional solution of simply having breakfast for dinner, since he was a lacto-ovo vegetarian (meaning he would eat dairy products and eggs). So the two ended up cooking up some cheese, red pepper, and tomato omelettes and eggy bread (A.K.A. French toast) together and ate it over a spirited conversation dipping into the Quidditch League teams’ new line-ups, the rumors of what the Ministry planned to do about the previously cancelled World Cup, and how the recently-appointed head of the League resembled an unusually gangling Porlock.

When did the curse gang find out about them?

Oh ho, all of them heard bits and pieces about Orion and how fond Carewyn was becoming of him from each other WAY before Carewyn said anything to them. Charlie was one of the biggest culprits of this -- when he found out that Carewyn had let Orion stay the night on her futon without having made plans ahead of time (something Charlie himself was never allowed to do), he went out of his way to rant to Bill, Barnaby, Liz, Felix, AND Ben and his wife Wendy @drinkyoursoupbitch about it. When Bill heard about Charlie’s suspicion, he played it cool, but secretly went out of his way himself to find out what he could about Orion from the Quidditch League and Carewyn’s Slytherin yearmates, including his new wife Jules Farrier-Weasley @cursebreakerfarrier and Carewyn’s old friend and Orion’s old teammate Night Rhea @nightrhea-hphm. Fortunately everyone Bill spoke to spoke well of Orion, which soothed his nerves quite a bit. Charlie took a bit longer to come around (since he’d sort of gotten used to Carewyn and him being the only ones of their friend group who were still happily single), as did Ben (who remains way too overprotective of  his friends for his own good), but the one who had the hardest time accepting it was -- as one could imagine -- Carewyn’s brother Jacob. Even after Carewyn and Orion officially got together, Jacob stubbornly and rather petulantly refused to accept Orion, constantly giving him the side eye and figuratively baring his fangs if he got too close to Carewyn around him. Jacob truthfully could tell Orion wasn’t a bad person -- if anything, Orion’s supreme level of chill almost frustrated him more, as Jacob couldn’t find any real reason to hate him...but like with his personal hang-up with Bill, Jacob still had a lot of trouble accepting that there were people who knew his “Pip” in ways he didn’t and that she’d sort of outgrown needing him to protect her. Over time, Jacob’s aggression toward Orion cooled, to the point that it would only flare up from time to time the way a cat might hiss at someone when they came into their personal bubble too quickly...but he was too proud to ever warmly embrace Orion and treat him like family the way Carewyn, his mother Lane, and his almost “nephew” Erik did. Fortunately Orion is a very patient man who’s heard enough about Jacob through Carewyn to know that Jacob’s behavior was nothing personal against him, even though Carewyn herself still scolded Jacob about it plenty of times. Fortunately as well, most of Carewyn’s other friends reacted pretty warmly to the news. Penny in particular was incredibly supportive, since she as a huge Quidditch fan remembered Orion from their days at Hogwarts and had always thought he was a talented flier and Captain, even if he wasn’t in her house.

Alright Lily. Ramble to me. Hockey asks 10,19, 23 & 24, 28 & 29, 32-34, 50 and 64

I went back and put this under a cut because DUDE it got reeeeeally long... 

10. Gotten injured WATCHING hockey Well, lately, when I yell at my TV (or laugh at something someone posted) I will go into couch fits and that hurts. But I’ve never been hit with a puck or anything. I’ve never even got a puck at a real hockey game. 

19. Duo Oh boy. Ever? My mind goes to Slava Fetisov and Igor Larionov. On the ice and off, they did a hell of a lot, and could do it because they had support from each other. And like then I have to talk about Steve Yzerman and Brendan Shanahan. Scott Niedermayer and Scott Stevens were like the perfect defensive pair EVER. They are what all pairs aspire to be (or should). I mean do we want to get cliche, because like Gretzky and Kurri were pretty good, too. But currently? I mean Patrice and Brad have to be WAAAY up there on any duo list. Blake and Mark, yes, but Blake and David were just as magical way back when. Blake and Patrik are pretty good, too. Like Blake can pass to any sniper. It quite seems that Connor and Leon have something special, but I don’t have enough personal data there yet. John and Esa are probably my favorite current (regular) pair. (I’m sure I’m forgetting like a million that I should talk about, but that’s what I have right now.)

23. Player under 25 I’m going to say Roope Hintz. I thought a lot about this one, and I think he has such potential and such skill, and dude that kid can skate, I really enjoy just watching him hockey. My other option here was going to be either KC or Charlie. Because I just love young players that you KNOW are going to grow into something magical, but right now they’re kinda like newborn giraffes sometimes. So… that’s where I am with the younguns. 

24. Player over 25 I did some mental debating on this one. But I have to say Patrice Bergeron. He does everything right. He plays the right way, he passes, he defends, he leads. He’s just the perfect hockey player. But like I want to talk more about defensemen, I want to talk about Ben of course, because all the fantastic things he does don’t get noticed because defense isn’t flashy. (And I struggled not to answer this question with a retired player ‘cause they’re over 25….)

28. Player not on your own team Probably Matthew Tkachuk. He’s grown up a lot this season. He has a lot of talent and he’s learning to use that instead of being an asshole. He’s still chirpy, but he’s less idiotic. I only watched a handful of Oilers games, but Leon Draisaitl is phenomenal and I look forward to seeing more. Also, Paul Stastny, and I don’t like that he’s in Vegas as much as he doesn’t like that he’s in Vegas. (I have been remembering how much I adore Marc-Edouard Vlasic, so I’m not allowed to watch more Sharks games.)

29. Player on your least favorite team *deep breath* Alex Steen. He’s really thrived on his new third line role and it’s nice to see him succeed rather than languish like he did on the second line. 

32. Defenseman I have a feeling I’m supposed to give different answers to these than the ones I already gave. Like if someone is my favorite player, they’re gonna be my favorite defenceman too, right? Anyway, Ben Chiarot and Esa Lindell. I like mobile defensive defenseman. (Does anyone remember Rostislav Klesla?) Being defensive isn’t enough, you have to skate too. Too many defensemen either wander off to wonderland and you might as well call them a forward, or they hang around and don’t skate, they just hit. Both kinds are useless to defend (with the very rare exception that can skate back from wonderland in time). 

33. Forward Passing is hot. Watching Blake and Patrice pass is like a religious experience. There is just that moment when that pass connects across eight million opposing players and the shot is right on net. And that is what hockey is all about. I love those moments. I’ve been seeing that with the Stars between Roope and Miro, oddly enough. 

34. Goalie Okay maybe it makes me a homah, but Tuukka. Hear me out, making good saves is nice. And that’s important, sure. But when a goalie is passionate about hockey, that’s when you get the magic. Marty Brodeur was angry every single time he was scored on. He didn’t shrug them off, he came back and made ten more impossible saves. (Everything that wasn’t a shutout wasn’t a good game to him.) Tuukka is like that. That’s what makes a goalie great instead of good.

50. Will be a surprise next year, either good or bad I think the Devils are going to get a lot of attention next season because of Jack Hughes and it’s been a long time since the press was up the Devils’ ass and that’ll be fun to watch. (And yeah, I’ll be watching.) I think that the Oilers are going to get shook up if Ken Holland really does come aboard and that could be either really great or really awful, no gray area. 

64. Penalty Okay, how about when you INJURE a player, you are out as long as that player is out. I don’t care if you “meant” to do it or not, that doesn’t make him any less hurt. When he comes back, you can come back.

2018 MLS Kit Branding Reimagined

The 2018 Major League Soccer season is nearly underway. It’s been a long offseason and we’re hyped to have it back.

Our friends Tap In have a lot of new, exciting MLS content coming this year on their guide, and in celebration of that, we decided to partner on a fun little project.

In a bid to add a little more personality to what is largely bland, impersonal sponsorship real estate on each kit, we reimagined every team’s jersey with something new in the middle of it. Some of these are local companies, others are prospective partners who have some fun link to the team, and others will probably just be arcane jokes that won’t land.

Nevertheless, we thought this was a fun way to bring a few of our favorite things together: Friendship, Photoshop & American soccer.

Atlanta United — Waffle House

An iconic southern restaurant with its roots in Atlanta, Waffle House is open 24/7, 365—and it’s the best. As Waffle House FC will tell you, this is a perfect sponsor for a team that’s tasty on and off the pitch. Their supporters never waver, refusing to shut off for even a single second when they pack the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. They aren’t afraid to do things their own way—which, yes, can sometimes get a bit messy ... but most of the time it’s spot on.

Chicago Fire — Portillo’s

Sorry, it’s important we let you know now that this is probably going to be a food-heavy list as we’re rather fond of eating.

DC United — Geico

The Chevy Chase, Maryland-based Geico gecko had some good years there. We all liked him for a while. It was a good bit. But it got stale right around the time Freddy Adu left town. Since then, DC United and the gecko have struggled mightily to find consistent form. Here’s hoping they both find success this year from a new approach.

FC Dallas — Dr. Pepper

Everyone’s second team, Dr. Pepper, is a lifestyle in Texas. A Lone Star State-staple that pulls a talented 23-flavor squad from all-over—here’s to you Waco and Dublin— Dr. Pepper is an underrated, over-performing outfit with immense local significance … just like their imagined partner in Dallas.

A lot more to be proud of than their trophy cabinet will tell you.

Houston Dynamo — Swishahouse

As Mike Jones, noted soccer superfan, Swishahouse OG, and Everyone’s Favorite Rapper from 2005, once said:

LA Galaxy — SpaceX

Space. Galaxy. You get it.

Headquartered a stone’s throw from the LA Galaxy’s stadium in Carson is SpaceX, Elon Musk’s influential private “outer space things” company as it’s scientifically known.

Much like MLS’s most famous and successful franchise, SpaceX is a trailblazer famous for its glamour and willingness to break the mold. This isn’t to say it’s always smooth sailing—for either—but at the end of the day they’re both respected for their vision and performance.

This crossover is too perfect and it’s something that we’ve seen terrific mockups of in the past (though we wish we knew who to credit!). Also worth a shout is this awesome piece from LA Galaxy Confidential, which mentions Tesla as a fun potential partner. 

LAFC — The Boring Company

If the Galaxy is SpaceX, LAFC is The Boring Company.

Elon Musk’s newest endeavor is going to revolutionize Los Angeles by … making tunnels for cars? Oh, and by creating giant vehicles that can travel those tunnels and move lots of people at once … like a train. Hmm. The Boring Company seems like a well-backed but ordinary idea that lacks direction and distinction, with a lot of hype for reasons no one can really explain.

To be blunt, we haven’t really seen much to this point.

The Galaxy have sent a Tesla up into space and revolutionized how we build rockets... but LAFC have so far just made a bunch of flamethrowers and sold out their entire stock. So, we’ll see.

For now, all we’re really sure about is how much better their kit would have looked if they hadn’t put their sponsor in red.

Minnesota United — Prince. Duh.

You can have a Dirty Mind or even be a little Delirious, but you’ll still end up right back here with no Controversy. You can wear it in a Little Red Corvette, in a Purple Rain, When Doves Cry or even put it on Bambi. With this kit, you’ll be a Sexy MF.

Montreal Impact — Cirque du Soleil

What’s wilder than benching Didier Drogba because you’re better without him? One person doing acrobatics on the head of another person while a third person flies through the air holding fire. In French.

Like CFG, it might not be your cup of tea, but it certainly works for a lot of people in NYC and has offered plenty of enterprising young professionals a place to grind. #JackHarrison

This one is a no-brainer.

Publix is an employee-owned supermarket chain that serves up some truly delicious food and has fans almost as fanatical as those found on The Wall in Orlando.

Floridians are vocally, passionately, sometimes a bit frighteningly #TeamPublix—and the same can be true for the way purple-clad City supporters get behind their squad.

Philadelphia Union — Wawa

If you know, you know. In their words:

Powell’s City of Books is (supposedly) the largest independent new and used bookstore in the world. It is ginormous and fantastic and you should go if you’re ever in Portland.

We don’t know of any football clubs sponsored by book stores, but if there was ever going to be one, it would play in the Rose City.

Real Salt Lake — High West

Tucked away in a state known primarily for its gorgeous vistas and as the home of the Mormon religion is a really wonderful distillery that will knock your socks off. It also comes with that beautiful mountain view, not unlike Rio Tinto Stadium.

San Jose Earthquakes — Yahoo!

Nothing says cool like needing an exclamation point at the end of your name. Kind of like building a brand new stadium and needing to tell people that you have a really long bar.

As the kit sponsor of the Quakes during their two title runs, we think it’s time for Yahoo! to make a return. (Not sure anyone will use it, though.)

Seattle Sounders — Starbucks

Sorry, we’re those guys. Seattle gave the world Starbucks and we needed to see what that logo would look like on these new kits. 

Plus, much like Starbucks invented coffee, the Sounders invented American soccer.

Sporting Kansas City — Hallmark

A proudly Kansas City company that is all about good vibes, with extensive Wizard of Oz involvement over the years.

That sounds a lot like Sporting KC to us—a team that needed a rough start in order to find its way. Much the same, Hallmark probably would have never become what it is today without extensive setbacks in its early years.

Toronto FC — Tim Hortons

Timbits and trophies: That’s what Toronto does. Nowadays, anyway.

We only had three Canadian teams to give the Tim Hortons love to, so we figured the toast of MLS deserves the world’s most lovely quick-service cafe and bake shop.

Vancouver Whitecaps — Lululemon

Set on the water, with an amazing mountain view, you couldn’t say a bad word about how great Vancouver looks. It’s straight-up cool. And local company Lululemon makes activewear that looks similarly awesome. We are officially here for MLS yoga wear.

Since I'm watching The Oscars and I love celeb AUs: former costars KC meet up again to present an award.

“Hello, sweetheart.”

Caroline turned around and gave Klaus a blinding smile, hugging him quickly. “It’s so good to see you!”

They’d kept in touch over text since the press tour for their movie but hadn’t seen each other in six months. Caroline had been busy with her new TV show in Canada and Klaus had decided to focus on his music more, which meant he was stuck in Los Angeles. She’d missed him more than she thought she would. 

“And you as well, love,” Klaus said, and her eyes widened as his hand pressed against her lower back after she let go, just shy of less appropriate territory. She flushed.

Okay, so maybe she’d had a teeny crush on him, but there was no way he reciprocated. She was just an up-and-coming barely-A-lister at best, and he’d been in the business for over ten years.

She couldn’t help but lean into his touch anyway, shivering when his thumb stroked her spine (she wasn’t sure whether to curse herself for wearing a backless dress or self-five), and she tried not to look too off-kilter when they were announced.

They did their teleprompted banter, and Caroline looked away after her part to scan the crowd for her mom before having to fight down a blush at Klaus’s flirtatious smile when he said she was as talented as she was beautiful and that he wished she’d give him the time of day after her Oscar-winning performance. It was silly that she had a pang of regret that he hadn’t written it and therefore probably didn’t mean it, cursing the scriptwriters for putting it in (especially when Klaus said it so genuinely).

Once she’d opened the envelope and awarded the Best Supporting Actress Oscar to Katherine Pierce for her stunning performance in Graduation (it involved a very dramatic death scene, something Caroline could respect), Klaus led her offstage with his hand pressed to her lower back.

“What the hell, Klaus?” Bonnie, one of the people in charge of wrangling the presenters, hissed.

“What?” he asked innocently.

“You’re not supposed to go off-script!”

“You went off-script?” Caroline asked, turning to frown at Klaus.

He looked a little sheepish, though he straightened his shoulders and looked at her. “You are, in fact, as stunningly beautiful as you are talented, and I did hope that I might get the nerve to ask you to accompany me to an after-party? Perhaps dinner some other time if it goes well?”

Her mouth moved soundlessly for a second before she frowned. “Did you just ask me out?”

“Yes.”

She bit her lip before nodding, suddenly feeling self-conscious under his warm look.

“If you’re done I need to get Alaric and Jo out to do Best Original Song,” Bonnie said impatiently, and Klaus reached to grab her hand. 

“May I escort you back to your seat, love?”

She grinned. “You may.”

Yes, this is totally ok! :) Thanks for asking! I have a lot of favorites, but I don’t always bookmark them, so this is just some of my favorite fics.

- Timeless by MarvelousKatie is one of the first KC stories I ever read and probably the one that made me feel like writing some myself. I’ve gone back to read it again and it’s still incredible! 

- Wild Hearts by @itsnotacrimetoloveyou I’m currently obsessed with this story but it’s not complete yet. I got a few spoilery details of what’s to come ahead and I will gladly accept all the support I can get to pressure her into writing moar!! lol It’s an amazing story and this is all in good faith! Luiza’s writing is SO powerful and it evokes such feelings and creates such an atmosphere that you get immediately sucked into the stories. I love her Klaus voice, it’s wicked and sexy at the same time, reminds me of the good ol’ Klaus of TVD season 3.

- Whisper To Me, Help Me Remember by @lalainajanes is definitely, definitely among my favorite things ever. Her writing is absolutely amazing and this story is rewriting of sorts of TO season 3, my LEAST favorite season of TO (that’s saying a lot considering I can’t say I even have a favorite season) and it proves that the dumb plot of the creepy siblings and The Strix could’ve been done write (again, if they had Caroline shipper over to NOLA lol). Also, the villains are SO much better here! 

- Honestly, just hit anything by @cupcakemolotov and it’s a sure hit, but the Come Alive collection is my favorite go-to when I want to read some great one-shots. It’s fantastic writing, always IC, and I think most of the stories here (if not all of them) are canon compliant or at least written in the same sort of supernatural universe, which I love!

- Public Nuisance by @thetourguidebarbie I love love love LOVE this story! It is SO much fun! It’s an AH/AU, filled with witty banter and sweet moments and the kind of lighthearted that warms your heart. Reminds me of the best kind of rom com, and I LOVE rom coms! Angelikah’s writing is spectacular in every possible way. She also has a HP AU that blew my mind ‘cause I’m that person who’s always hated HP AUs - until I read hers. Even though Public Nuisance is a total AU, she manages to capture the characters’ voice SO perfectly. I love her Caroline!

- Cursed Obsession by @supremeuppityone I just recently finished this one and it was SO amazing! It’s plotty, full of twists, such smart writing! It’s an AU, but it makes so many references to stuff we know from canon. The sexy KC times here are definitely a +! I loved this story so much I left a bunch of silly comments all over it as I was binge-reading it. lol 

- @sunshineandfangs​ recently wrote a BUNCH of stories for a KC event and I read all of them and loved them all to bits! Seriously, she’s like a writing machine. The amount of ridiculously great one-shots she can write is a phenomenon. Her stories are so different, but she somehow manages to capture the essence of what I personally think KC should be like in every single one of them, putting them in the most varied range of situations. Some are canon compliant, some are not, some are total AUs, some are sweet, some are darker... Doesn’t matter. It’s all brilliant. (I hope I’m linking this right ‘cause I’m dumb.)

- Inertia Overcome by avari20 is a masterpiece! I think this was THE very first KC fanfiction I ever read, years and years ago, long before I ever planned on writing KC fic and it stuck with me. It’s amazing! And I just NOW realized there are parts 2 and 3???? Holy shit!

Ok, I realize this is not a very long list at all, but I kind of have to go out now. And in any case, literally ANYTHING by any of the authors I mentioned is certain to be a good read! You might not like the theme of some of the stories I listed, but trust me, the writing is on point! So just hit their lists and I’m sure you’ll find something that’s more your cup of tea. Also, a thing that I do sometimes is I go to my favorite writers’ bookmarks and see what they’re reading. Never fails! 

I’ve read several of their works and it’s all amazing. There are so many talented writers in this fandom, and I’m sorry if I forgot to mention anyone in particular ‘cause I’m in a bit of a hurry, so I’m definitely forgetting my own favorites! Sometimes I feel lucky I arrived late to the party here cause that means I have LOADS of fanfiction to read. lol I hope that helps you!! Thanks for stopping by!

2021 NFL Mock Draft

First Round

1. JAC - QB Trevor Lawrence (Clemson) This is a no-brainer pick as Lawrence has been the #1 prospect in this draft class for several years.  The guy has everything you look for in a #1 NFL Draft Pick  

2. NYJ - QB Zach Wilson (BYU) Wilson turned in a breakout season and has wowed many with his mobility, arm, intelligence, and accuracy.  The only question about him is how would he have measured up in a Power 5 conference

3. SF - QB Mac Jones (Alabama)  The 49ers are reportedly out of the running for Justin Fields and were once locked onto Mac Jones.  Now there are questions about Trey Lance rising and some last minute questions about the 49ers loving Kyle Pitts.  I’m rolling with Mac Jones for my prediction here as Jones’ pocket presence, accuracy, and leadership skills seems to fit the Kyle Shanahan mold.

4. ATL - TE Kyle Pitts (Florida) Pitts reminds me of a bigger, faster, Shannon Sharpe.  His athleticism is off the charts and he can really run some good routes.  Ryan would be elated to add a target like this and the Falcons can move to more of a 2 TE set with Hurst and Pitts, likely posing match-up problems.

5. CIN - OT Penei Sewell (Oregon) I could see the Bengals looking to add Joe Burrow’s favorite target from LSU, but let’s be honest, the Bengals need to protect their #1 asset, their QB.  Sewell can do that and maybe help give some lift in the running game too.

6. MIA - WR Ja’Marr Chase (LSU)  Chase is an elite WR weapon that could boost the Dolphins offense and give Tua plenty of help to matriculate the ball down the field.  Chase’s size and speed are excellent and he was one of the primary reasons why the Tigers were unstoppable in 2019.

7. NE (from DET) - QB Justin Fields (Ohio State) I am not going to be shy about it.  I am a Detroit Lions fan.  It’s been a miserable existence to date and the Lions are in another rebuild.  In my opinion, they could use help everywhere except at RB.  Trading down would help them and I feel that they would likely find a trading partner at 7 if Fields were on the board.  Meanwhile, the Pats are not sold on Cam Newton being the man long-term.  As such, they could be interested in drafting a QB and being that Cam Newton and Justin Fields are tight, this might be a great fit for him.

8. WAS (from CAR) - QB Trey Lance (North Dakota State) The Panthers may be set at QB after trading for Darnold.  In this scenario I have the Football Team moving up to grab a first round QB to understudy Ryan Fitzpatrick, the consummate QB tutor.  Lance offers a rare blend of size, athleticism, and skill that could be the guy in Washington in 2022.  

9.  DEN - CB Patrick Surtain II (Alabama) After adding Bridgewater it doesn’t appear likely that the Broncos are in the market for a QB.  Surtain is one of the best defenders in this draft if not the best.  His blend of size, speed, awareness, and NFL blood lines are quite tempting.  Adding him would give the Broncos some real lock down options in the secondary which could help their pass rush get home.  

10. DAL - CB Jaycee Horn (South Carolina) Horn is another big corner that offers NFL pedigree.  His size and playmaking can be of great use to teams needing help in their secondary and the Cowboys definitely need a lot of help there!

11. NYG - LB Micah Parsons (Penn State) In my opinion Parsons is the top defender in this draft class despite having sat out 2020.  His athleticism, size, speed, and ability to play all over the field are all very impressive and would help the Giants add a very dynamic LB reminiscent of the mid to late 80′s!

12. PHI - WR Jaylen Waddle (Alabama) Waddle is a difference-maker on the field that offers big play capability and can even take a short slant the distance too.  The Eagles need some play-making help and this dominant college WR has the capability to deliver.

13. LAC - OL Alijah Vera-Tucker (USC) Vera-Tucker can help open up holes in the running game with his power and presence and has the versatility to play guard or tackle.  He would be a welcome addition to keep Herbert healthy..

14. MIN - OT Rashawn Slater (Northwestern) Slater could trade one shade of purple for another and be a nice option to protect Cousins and keep the Minnesota running game going.  His size and athleticism figure to help an NFL team right away.

15. DET (from NE) - WR DeVonta Smith (Alabama) As a Lions fan it seems unreal that they could be drafting a WR or TE again, but here we are.  They are once again devoid of playmakers at WR after letting Golladay and Marvin Jones walk away via free agency.   Smith is a difference-maker on the field despite his slight frame.  The Lions need some play-making help and this dominant Hesiman-winning college WR has the capability to deliver.

16. ARI - OT Christian Darrisaw (Virginia Tech) The Cardinals could use some help to buy the dynamic Kyler Murray more time and Darrisaw grades out as a fine pass protector that should be solid early in his career.

17. LV - LB Jermiah Owusu-Koramoah (Notre Dame) Owusu-Koramoah is a rangy LB that should be solid in pass coverage from day 1 and be able to make plays at all three-levels.

18. MIA - DE Jaelan Phillips (Miami) Phillips offers the prototype size with long-arms that teams covet in an edge rusher.  He flashed as both a pass rusher as well as some surprising cover skills and could intrigue teams in the mid-to-late first round.

19. CAR (from WAS) - LB Jamin Davis (Kentucky) Davis’ solid size coupled with his speed and quickness could mean that he could surprise some by hearing his name called as early as the middle of the first round since he has the cover skills that many teams covet in a linebacker.

20. CHI - CB Greg Newsome II (Northwestern) Newsome is a talented, high-intelligence corner that flashed good ball skills coupled with size.  He would be an interesting prospect that the Bears could ask to stay in the Chicago area.

21. IND - DE Kwity Paye (Michigan) Paye’s athleticism and potential has certainly outshined his productivity.  Still, a guy with his size, quickness and versatility would figure to hear his name called somewhere in the middle of the first round and the Colts could use to add some help along the DL.

22. TEN - CB Caleb Farley (Virginia Tech) Farley was touted as a top flight prospect for this year’s draft before he sat out the year.  He has had some health issues which reportedly have teams concerned (not really tied to the recent COVID results).  Still, his size, hands, and shutdown capability make him a coveted NFL corner prospect.

23. NYJ - OT Teven Jenkins (Oklahoma State) The Jets added the big, talented Becton last year and would do well to protect their new QB with some more help along the OL.  Jenkins has the capability of playing a number of positions along the line that could help the Jets protect their asset and open holes in the running game.

24. PIT - RB Najee Harris (Alabama) Harris has outstanding size, power, and strength.  He is an absolute load and could help carry the Steelers running game and even be a threat in the passing game.

25. JAC - OL Landon Dickerson (Alabama) Dickerson’s recovery is reportedly ahead of schedule and his capability to play anywhere along the interior of the offensive line would be a good option to keep Trevor Lawrence protected.  Dickerson projects as a possible future Pro-Bowler thanks to a nasty streak, technical skills, and leadership ability if fully healthy.

26. CLE - LB Zaven Collins (Tulsa) Collins projects as a versatile LB that can play inside our outside as a thumper, solid cover guy, and even a potential pass rusher.  He would be a nice add to a dangerous Dog Pound defense.

27. BAL - WR Terrace Marshall (LSU) Marshall’s size and speed could tempt a lot of teams starting around the late first round.  The Ravens really need a bigger receiver like he would offer and he comes with some field-stretching capability to boot.  He could project as a WR1 in the not to distant future.

28. NO - Kadarius Toney (Florida) Toney projects as a slot WR that can make a lot of big plays thanks to his yac potential.  He will have the capability to stretch defenses deep and create havoc in the middle of the field which should help Kamara and Michael Thomas.

29. GB - WR Rashod Bateman (Minnesota) The Packers are desperate for help along the OL and at WR to complement Adams.  In this scenario Bateman might be a nice add to help the Packers add some punch to their offense.

30. BUF - DE Gregory Rousseau (Miami) Rousseau’s size and length are quit interesting.  Despite opting out of 2020, he projects as a likely first round pick that could help pressure the QB and offer enough size to support the run defense as well.

31. BAL (from KC) -  OT Liam Eichenberg (Notre Dame) Eichenberg projects as a RT and could slip into the starting spot vacated with the trade of Orlando Brown.  Eichenberg offers good strength, power, and hands to hold up in the NFL. 

32. TB - DT Christian Barmore (Alabama) This is more about looking down the road than an immediate need right now.  Barmore would enter a nice DL rotation with Suhand company and has the capability to be a key DT at the NFL level.
