Elsa, I can't help it, she gives me ace vibes so of course I'd latch onto her

Rex, Maul, The Bad Batch, Anakin, Din Djarin, Finn and Poe, again I feel like there's something for everyone here

Muriel and Lucio, one is a hot himbo, I love a hot himbo, and the other one is an absolute bastard, polar opposites yet somehow my faves to write

Okay... that was a lot. I LOVE ALL OF THEM SO MUCH HOLY SHIT So... some responses/questions based on that! (Sorry if this is a bit long)

What if Rika is alive? But Rika the human rejected/got scared of Yuta who ended up making Rika the entity? (I think Rika the human would never do that so... what if Rika moved away?) (Such a cool power for Yuta, since Suguru has the power copying, Yuta basically gets turned into Ben-10 for this AU!)

Toji gets defeated real??/j Oh he's going to be picked up by the entitites? AND MEGUMI AND TSUMIKI ARE HEEEEERE (Megumi has shadow powers, and Tsumiki has no powers right? Tsumiki doesn't get into a coma right? Or get possessed right?????)

Gakuganji gets defeated by Hobie (ass-kicking and bonding my beloved) and sees that he needs to change. Especially since he saw how the Rock/Power Revolution happened since order took too much control of the systems.

Yaga can also be a moth elemental since his surname kanji means "night moth"! Who creates dolls like how silk is made from silkworms! And he learns to make robots. And becomes a dad to many of them like Brute or Panda. (Yaga leaving after divorce and powers is such a cool take) AND SP//dr YESSSSSSSSSS (Would SP//dr look like the SP//dr mech or a spider? Or a cat?)

MimiNana are also finally here!!! Suguru also taking half the kids in the custody fight/j (Also gravity powers sound so cool!!! And Mimiko having controlling powers or Nanko having tech powers!!!!)

Mechamaru is still disabled. Oh good/j (Love his powers! Such a unique take!!! Bet robots are afraid of him) (Oh shit Margo. Does that mean... bit can go into another robot body and be immortal if desired?)

Kirara and Kinji being NB4NB YES! (I see Kirara as nonbinary transfem, and Kinji as just nonbinary or nonbinary! And they are very queer.)

Weapon Ijichi. Just being mistreated by everyone in general. King just wants a break. But save the world.

Nitta siblings YES!!! (Maybe they can have clock internals like Matvey, but barely show their elemental side?)

Glad you liked my ideas! Wish I could have answered this sooner! But here I am now at least lol!

-If Rika is alive, then she would still love Yuta, I don't want to change that, so she wouldn't have rejected him. So having her move away is definitely something I can see happening and Yuta ends up making a Rika entity clone lol (maybe Nobara does the same for Saori!).

And yes! That was the reasoning behind Yuta having a similar power to Suguru! Because I made Suguru's ability before knowing anything about JJK and how Yuta can copy abilities, I had to try and make a copying power that was unique to Yuta. Them both having copy-like powers just makes Suguru having beef with Yuta so much funnier to me lol (also yes, basically Ben 10 Yuta!)

-Toji may have gotten defeated, but he was still real close to killing Satoru and Suguru (and possibly others) and failed to kill Riko. So he definitely did still make an impression on everyone (still probably is the spark for Suguru's descent later on).

And yes, he ends up being taken on by the entities who either wake him up from his coma, or he wakes up and willingly goes to them seeing as he's been gone for so long and no longer has a place in Megumi or Tsumiki's lives.

And yes! Megumi and Tsumiki are here! Megumi is a shadow elemental, was thinking of a liquid shadow elemental. I have yet to actually decide if Tsumiki has powers yet or not, but she might be a powerless elemental, perhaps also a shadow elemental with just her hair being kinda see-through at the ends?

Most likely Tsumiki is not going to be in a coma at all (since Toji is put into one) but I don't know what i am doing with the Culling Games at the moment. If I do end up doing the Culling Games, then it's less like possession and probably more like Harmonic Convergence from the Legends of Korra and people just got new powers and perhaps Idle Transfiguration is still used causing a lot of people with elemental parts of them to be changed to come out (but in a natural way that won't kill them like how Mahito was doing it).

Definitely still need to work on THAT part of the story, but so far I do not have any plans to put Tsumiki in a coma or have her be possessed (though that could change depending on how I deal with Sukuna, Kenjaku, and Medusa).

Also, I like the idea that Tsumiki and Miwa become friends as powerless elementals whose element shows mainly through their hair! :D

-I wasn't actually planning on Gakuganji being a fighter in the revolution, I was gonna have him be kinda on the "neutral" side but because he couldn't decide what to do.

But I think I like the idea that he was in charge of keeping the instruments safe and Hobie needed/wanted their guitar for the fight and so had to fight Gakuganji. A little one-on-one fight that Hobie won though I think Gakuganji was holding back as he didn't really want to fight? Or maybe he did go all out but Hobie still beat him (Hobie would have beat him either way).

Anyway, yes, he definitely does end up changing for the better which Satoru ends up seeing which is why sky offers a job to Gakuganji at Jujutsu Tech (have I ever used sky/skies pronouns with Satoru here? Because I am using blue/sky pronouns for Satoru now lol).

-And yes! Yaga is a moth elemental! I forgot to point out that detail when I was talking about him (as that was the first details I talked about on DA with someone which got buried by his backstory lol).

But him creating dolls with silk is such a cool take! Definitely something I will trying to use/incorporate! Him being a parent to Brute like he is to Panda probably isn't going to be the same, mainly because Brute is a robot while Panda would have been a sentient bio-doll? Or a doll that can grow and change all on its own like how bio-tech can do. Brute would have been a robot that just gained sentience quickly because of Yaga creating him, though having Brute and Ada show up at JT because they want to see/talk to Yaga could be a cool thing to explore!

As for SP//dr, Yaga created it as a cat plush for Peni, not meaning to make it come to life. Why it's name SP//dr idk, perhaps it was a project name Peni's dad was working on and kit decided to honor him by naming the doll SP//dr. But it is a cat doll.

-MimiNana yes! I so wished we got to see more of them in the show, so I will be giving them as much time as I can in the Eriverse lol!

Also, the whole reason I wanted to give them natural gravity powers is so they would be forced to interact with Kenjaku who still has gravity powers from Kaori. Suguru giving them other powers was so he could be confident they are strong enough to protect themselves (and to get them to stop complaining about having to spend time with Kenjaku /j).

Kinda like the idea that Suguru doesn't have any gravity powers in his arsenal at all (Kenjaku refuses to let him copy his powers) so he has to let Kenjaku teach the twins gravity manipulation (since Suguru isn't really close with Satoru or Nova at the moment).

-Glad you like my Mechamaru take! He's definitely been a struggle for me to actually write because I did want to keep him disabled so I had to make a reason why Mahito couldn't just magically fix him, so I'm happy you like my solution!

His powers are kinda confusing but fun to play around with! So glad I know about someone like White Diamond because that is literally the best way to put his powers. As he is in full control of his body as he controls his robots, meaning that the more robots he has to use, the more focused he has to be otherwise he will lose track of things (just as White said she has thinned herself out when taking over the other diamonds and crystal gems).

As for Margo and being immortal. Kinda. She definitely needs to get inside a robot with NO AI as quickly as possible for a permanent host, if the robot has AI then bit can't stay in there for long. Margo can't destroy AI at all, only suppress it and take control for a while, so byte actually would need an empty robot like Mechamaru's robots in order to actually stay inside the robot.

If Margo can't get to a body/thing to possess quick enough, bit will die if bit loses bits body. Unlike Sukuna, who is alive in the Collective Unconscious and Collective Conscious, Margo can't stay suspended in nothingness and needs a body, preferable one that is like 1010 who can eat and sleep as Margo is still human and can't live as a true robot (not eating or sleeping, just charging) for extended periods of times, so she'd need to take over something quickly as a quick fix until she can get her hands on an empty robot body that is made of mostly biotech.

Peni on the other hand CAN destroy AI directly but usually has to work to do so (sometimes kit can do it accidentally which is why kit doesn't really like fully taking over robots and would rather enhance them with kits powers or share the space with manipulation or influence them to do what nya needs/wants).

Mechamaru on the other hand, if he goes into a robot with AI, he will automatically wipe out that robot's AI and turn them basically into a shell that he can use. I don't think he can just pop into any robot at any time, perhaps he needs the robot or himself close enough to do the transfer, but he can still do it to any robot.

He probably can even do it to cyborgs like Neon J or the Vandelay bosses who are heavily cybered up, which is also a fucking terrifying ordeal (though they could possibly fight back with their human part that is connected with their cybernetics, but if someone like Neon J, whose body is his life support, loses the fight, he is dead).

Heck I think he'd potentially be able to take over tech entities like Miku or Caine (TADC) but it would not be an auto-wipe of their AI/mind like it is with regular robots. It would be an entire struggle like how psychics have with each other of who is the stronger psychic, but in this case it is who has the stronger control over the tech being fought over (and perhaps Mechamaru can only do so with his human body, as he needs full concentration to take over a tech entity so using a robot to get close wouldn't let him win, so him taking over a tech entity is very low given the state of his body even after he gets slightly fixed by Mahito).

I really love talking about Mechamaru I think. He's definitely gonna be someone who helps connect the robot side of things into the greater picture of the story like how B2J and Chai also will with Robot City.

Oh! But yes! Robots who know of Mechamaru and his power (as well as cyborgs and tech entities) are definitely afraid of him!

-Kiara and Kinji NB4NB my beloveds! They are the new queers on the block who look like a cishet couple! Them, Miwa and Mechamaru, and Bunny and Rei need to hang out lol.

But NB transfem Kiara and just NB Kinji, I love!

-Fun fact about weapon Ijichi! When he's in his human form he uses he/him pronouns, and when its in its weapon form it uses it/its pronouns! So Ijichi has alternating pronouns depending on what form he is in! I don't know why but I really loved that idea a whole lot and wanted to make that known!

But actually, I love the idea that Ijichi isn't as comically hurt in the Eriverse as he is in canon. Like he really is a big deal and helps out a LOT and it shows a lot more in the Eriverse than in JJK canon (like we KNOW he helps out a lot in canon, but he is treated as a joke).

His veil powers and powers as a weapon really help a lot (especially once it and Satoru work together in a fight with it boosting it and skies powers!), but not only that, but he is going to be vital in helping people mentally who have been transfigured by Mahito as I see him as being a licensed therapist (helped paid for by Satoru).

See, the reason Ijichi uses interchanging pronouns is because he took a LONG time to separate his worth as a human as its worth as a weapon. Because he went through that, he is now going to help people who have been changed, feel like they are only tools, and other things where people feel less than human because of what they are/have been treated (even after the timeskip Purl could use this therapy as well).

So Ijichi is going to be playing a much more important role in the Eriverse than he does in the JJK canon (I find it so funny how I make smaller character super important and yet I am still struggling to give someone like Sukuna importance into the story lol).

-Oooh! Clock internals sounds so cool! Shoko just trying to give one of the Nitta siblings a checkup and when it puts the stethoscope to their back it goes "You know you are ticking right?" lol

Anyway, glad you like all my headcanons! I keep adding more and REALLY need to condense them all into one space and yet I have not done that at all lol. Glad you like what I got going on! It's become a lot more fun to think of the story and stuff recently since I can just jump from one plot point to the next when I get bored or stuck on something! (I keep jumping from Sukuna because that bitch is being annoying and not helping inspire me, at least I know how he survived for like centuries now).

what are you favourite AUs scenarios? :)

most of them center around my faves of course heh. big shoutouts to @marsbutterfly and @lost-and-found-jc as a lot of these ideas were a collaborative effort with one or both of them. here are some that stick out to me:

my all time favorite: pirate AU - i've actually gotten pretty detailed with that one, with several different sets of characters. there's tons of backstory and a lot of self-serving shippy stuff with but the gist of it involves: Hanji as a notorious but now-retired pirate captain, Mikasa as the heir who succeeded her and now captains the ship (widely considered to be the best in the sea). my personal favorite is Annie as a siren who decides she doesn't want to kill anymore when she falls in love with a human woman..... i wrote some fanfic for the pirate AU that remains unposted alsjdfh i'm willing to share if people are interested in it though!

modern/university AU - this one also envelops many many characters, but mostly focuses on Annie. she's very punk and alternative, still very much a lone wolf. she rides a motorcycle and has dozens of tattoos plus a nose piercing. she is secretly a really good student and gets good grades, she has a good scholarship. i like the idea of her being a forensic science major, both because i myself love STEM and because i think it's fitting for her personality. her dad would probably send her an allowance every month but it wouldn't be too much, and Annie likes having her own means to make money so she has a few side gigs, including underground cage fighting. she's the reigning champion and regularly beats the shit out of men twice her size. and she gets a LOT of money from it, which is why she'd keep doing it (also classic Annie not caring if she engages in self destructive behavior)

avatar the last airbender/legend of korra - this one was super dumb lskfjhskfj but it was fun. i love doing bending AUs so i have an established self-insert character of sorts that i love to stick into different situations with different characters. this one is mostly just for kicks but it's super fun to talk about headcanons for what type of benders everyone would be and how they're interact in that universe.

mafia AU - basically Zeke and Hanji head rival mafia groups. my wife wrote a fic with this concept actually, where reader is an assassin affiliated with Hanji, hired to kill her. i really heavily vibe with the concept of Yelena as Zeke's right hand man. picturing her with knuckle and face tats with brass knuckles, god it'd be so sexy. Annie would be an assassin under Zeke but she'd be a bit of a wild card...

zombie AU - anybody following my wife knows about the infected, but we have kicked around sooo many zombie ideas with so many different characters, it's so fun. there are endless scenarios that could go down

vampire AU - umm this one is just because vampires are sexy and also because of a favorite sims game of mine involving Annie as a vampire. Annie is quite old and tortured by her immortality, and both traumatized and unfazed by the nature of her existence. also vampire sex and biting kink lasjdfhasdkfhlsj

Pretty random question, but do you think that RT could wind up killing Ruby or Oscar off? Idk, I feel like if they did it right then it could be really sad. What are your thoughts?

…Uhmm…no?At least not in a permanent way. I’d like tobelieve that Ruby and Oscar both have a strong set of plot armour in theirarsenal. Ruby because she’s our series main protagonist and Oscar because…okayI’ll be blunt here: The CRWBY Writers axing Oscar would honestlybe a rather absurd plot decision given the context of how Oscar wasfirst introduced into the story.

Oscaris meant to more or less replace ProfessorOzpin at some point as the newest incarnation of the Wizard of Light. The CRWBYkilled off Ozpin to bring Oscar in and right now, they’re supposedly integratinghim into the main group and plot indicating that he might have a bigger role inthe story. I mean he certainly does just as much as Ruby given his connectionto the main series antagonist: Salem.

IfOscar dies and it’s a permanent thing then the first question I would ask is: What was the pointof creating his character?

What was thepoint of killing off Ozpin to introduce us to this new child character that wasmeant to replace Ozpin only to kill him off after spending seasons makingaudience members invest in his character and story arc? Why do all of that atall if that was his endgame?

I’msorry. This is mostly my personal Pinehead bias talking but I really do thinkkilling off Oscar for good after killing off Ozpin to get him instead soundreally dumb. Feel free to disagree with me if you will but that’s how Ihonestly feel about that.

Butto really answer your question Momfriend, in the event that the Writers do planon kill either of these two off, I can only see it being done for like the series finale.

ForRuby, I can only picture the Writers’ writing her final swan song as hersacrificing herself for the fate of humanity. While I technically don’t believethe CRWBY would actually kill Ruby, this is one way I can see them doing it ifthe thought ever crossed their minds.

Maybethey can even pull a River Song in Doctor Who where Ruby dies bravely to stop Salem and Oscar useswhat bit of the God’s light he had left in him to bring her back with a literalkiss of life.

Imagine if…in the end, the Writerspull a bit where Oscar is able to share his immortality with Ruby Rose so theyboth become immortalbeings whose love ends up shaping Remnant and its history for many,many generations.

Theycould become the epitome of soul mates wherethey’re attached at the soul and if one of them dies, the other dies as well.So they die together but are reborn separated with their memories intact. Butno matter where they respawn they always find each other again and relive theirlove.

That could be sweet.But I doubt the Writers will do something like this. Makes for a kickass AUthough.

ForOscar I can more picture him dying temporarily onlyto be revived later. Not as a new character but as himself. His true self. Hiscomplete self. I’ve been repeating this theory for the longest time where Ibelieve Oscar is truly Ozma---the reincarnation of his original form reborn inModern Remnant.

Ihave this picture in my head where Salem captures Oscar and takes him to her Dark Domainwhere she performs some kind of dark crucifixion ofsome kind. I’m not sure if you’re an Avatar fan as well but in its sequelseries, the Legendof Korra, it is revealed that the Avatar is in fact a combination ofa spirit and a human soul.

InKorra’s second book, the Avatar spirit---Raava is ripped out ofKorra---the current Avatar and whipped right before Korra’s eyes.And with each beating, Korra loses his connection to her past lives going downthe lineage until the Avatar cycle is reset and Korrabecomes the first and last Avatar.

Somehow I’ve picturedOscar suffering a similar fate like that where the reincarnation cycle is reset with him as theLast Wizard of Light. The last life. In my vision, Salem uses her dark magicto force Ozma or what she believes to be Ozma’s soul out of Oscar’s body. Ozpindescribed himself not just as one man but a culmination of them. So it’s my assumption thatwhen the Merge occurs, the souls of the other Wizards don’t truly die ordisappear but become a part of something I dubbed the Wizard Persona which they share with their current successor.

Ithink all thesouls of the past Wizards live within Oscar.He just hasn’t done anything to really connect withthose differing souls beyond Professor Ozpin. However I do think they are allthere with him. My Pinehead headcanon is that Salem will strip Oscar of his connection tothe other Wizards, killing them one by one until all that remains isOscar’s feeble soul.

Similarto Korra’s experience, picture…Salem extracting the souls of each of theWizards before Oscar who are a part of him. Picture Salemkilling each and every one of them for good, right before Oscar’s very eyes andwith each disconnection, Oscar feels his soul suffer as if he’s being torn in two.

Salemdoes this because she’s trying to get to Ozma who she’s trying to find amongthis mess of men. Unfortunately for Salem, she never finds Ozma and it isrevealed later that Oscar has been Ozma all along---his true reincarnation of him as the younger revived version of hisoriginal self. So Oscar technically dies but he’s brought back one last time tocomplete the mission he promised to fulfil all those years ago in his firstlife as Ozma.

Mytheory is that Oscarwill meet the God of Light or at least one of the Gods in the Realm BetweenRealms again. Since Ozma met the Godof Light, I think it’d be a cool contrast if Oscar met the God of Darkness and it would fit with the theory I have where Ibelieve the Godseach contribute to the creation of life inspite their differences.

My theory is thatBrother Godsdon’t just represent light and darkness but also body and soul. Dark represents the body while light represents the soul.

Mytheory is that through a consult with the God of Darkness, Oscar will learnthat he has been Ozma all along. He is the original form---the body ofOzma---that the God of Darkness brought back with his power. But when questionedof why the God of Darkness would do such a thing, he informsOscar that he did it in aid of his brother. The Brothers may differ in theirsentiments and levels of mercy shown towards mankind and while the God ofDarkness might not share much what fate befalls his so-called greatest creation,he does care and believe in his brother; even if he might never say that to hisface.

Let’s say, the God of Darknesshad a hunch that his brother’s experiment with Ozma’s soul mightfail at some point. There was no way he could keep doing this forever and atsome point, humanity would fall again by Dark’s premonition. So as one lastfailsafe, in addition to reviving the God’s Champion: Ozma, each Brothercontributed an additional trump cardto aid Ozma in the event that he failed to see through with his mission.

TheGod of Light’strump card were the Silver EyedWarriors---beings he blessed with his eyes to destroy the Creaturesof Grimm. The finaltrump card, the one Darkness had a hand in, was the creation of Oscar.

Godof Light was never able to revive Ozma’s old body. It was a feat out of hispower. But not Dark’s. While the God of Light revived Ozma’s soul, Ozma’s old body wasreborn and granted a new life and a new nameuntil his truepurpose will be realized. Destiny has a way of trailing back to where it’s supposed tofall after all and eventually Ozma’s revived soul would ultimately merge withhis revived body, reviving the hero---the champion known as Ozma completely. Ozma was theChampion of the Gods. The Wizard of Light andOscar is Ozma.

Thisis why I’m standing with the Merge not killing Oscar. It’s supposed to make himcomplete.Ozma will be made whole again. Oscar will be made whole again. That’s my headcanon and boy do I love it.

I’m personally a sucker for the whole “spirit/ghost is stuck haunting/living at a house and gets to know the people who move in while trying not to scared them’ trope. ( Basically the Casper movie lol ) so please gimmie that. Izzie’s a great roommate, except she might fiddle with your phone or tv because she don’t know tech works.

Classic bad girl/boy meeting her and holding a soft spot for her or just seeing her as an easy target to manipulate.

Another immortal taking her under their wing and treating her like a younger sibling/child and introducing her to things.

Isabelle being a visible spirit who ends up with your muse somehow and there’s a whole bunch of the cliche but hilarious ‘oh snap my friend is coming over so we need to hide you, here get in the bathtub’

Kaneko:

Let your muse be the one who finally convinces her to quit the shady life for good, and who encourages her to finally reconnect with her estranged family.

companion to this oneshot + @katharaya u know what u did

She takes none of his jewelry, except the heart-shaped emerald she wears around her neck; she finds Nadia’s letters to her, and Asra’s, all of them wrapped in twine. She finds the black-and-grey photograph of the three of them, taken in their youth, and the photograph of them with the children, and she slips them both between the letters.

She takes his red looped scarf, and winds it around her shoulders, lifting it to cover her hair as well.

She makes other basic preparations, and then she leaves Vesuvia. She returns to the Waste.

Korra comes to her in dreams, the first night she spends alone. She is forty-seven, with streaks of grey in her hair, and Ziah feels sick. She still remembers the day she had met her first daughter, when she had been young and prideful and young.

And now, she is twenty years older than Ziah looks.

“Where’s dama?” Korra asks. “He’s not answering when I reach for him—”

Ziah breaks the dream, and wakes with tears on her face. She restarts the campfire she had huddled beside, and reads Asra and Nadia’s letters collected over the years, holding the emerald in her palm. It is warm, and though Asra’s magic had faded long ago, the feel of it is still a comfort.

I’ll be lonely until the next time I can wake up next to you two, Asra had written, ages ago. She remembers the weight of Nadia’s arms around her as they had read the postcard in their bed. She remembers Nadia kissing her shoulder, smiling against her cheek.

Be back soon.

She does not even notice she is crying until the first tear falls and smears the ink. “No,” she gasps, and bends the water out of the card, but it is too late. The old ink is lost. “No,” she whispers, wiping at her face with the scarf. “Please...”

“Please,” she whispers, but whatever rules over the universe does not hear her; the ink remains marred.

She puts away the letters, and weeps, and stays up the entire night so she will not have to face the daunting task of justifying herself to her ageing children. She has lost the two halves of her heart; only a hole had been left behind, and she knows that abyss will only widen with every strand of silver she sees in her children’s hair.

They catch onto her strategy, soon enough.

“Please come back,” Yosef asks her when she falls asleep at dawn, sitting with her with their feet dangling in the garden’s pool, as they had done when he was young and wanted to escape the chaos of the house. “Mama, we’re not mad you didn’t tell us. We just want you back. We’re all in Vesuvia, we want—”

She breaks the dream.

When she tries sleeping in the afternoon, Lizbet is there with her, in the garden she had crafted from her room, Mango chirping on her shoulder.

“Mom,” Lizbet worries, peering around the fronds of her fern. “Mom, where are you? Pepper’s grown now, she can take me and Blaise and we can come get you, please. Please, Dama wouldn’t want you isolating yourself—”

Ziah cannot stop her tears, then, and her grief rends the dream apart. But it is not until her fourth day traveling to the Waste, when she encounters a dream-remnant of Asra, that the grief stems into something decidedly more numb.

“Whoever has summoned you,” she tells the fragment, “is very cruel.”

It smiles at her, cheeks dimpling; its lepidolite eyes are clear, unclouded by cataracts, and its hands are steady and warm when it cups her face and wipes away her tears.

“You are five days dead,” she says. “Let me grieve in peace.” Her voice breaks. “Please.”

“Not if it means you’ll be alone,” it says. The sound of his voice, warm and affectionate and soft, is enough to make her turn away. She presses her hand to her mouth, biting down on her wrist to muffle her keening wail, and squeezes her eyes shut.

She smells jasmine and lavender behind her, and her body shakes, knees nearly giving out. No, she thinks, desperately, and when she squeezes her eyes shut she feels hot tears run down her face, hugging the curve of her jaw.

“Ziah,” she says, gently, and she breaks. She collapses, legs too weak to stand upon, and Nadia catches her, lowering them both to the floor as Asra kneels beside them, arms tight around them both.

She cannot endure it.

“You are cruel,” she gasps out, as Asra and Nadia hold her between them. “Enough! Leave me in peace!”

The dream melts away, and she wakes in tears, unable to control her grief until hours past the sunrise. When she calms, she rubs at her sore eyes and summons water from the dirt, calling one of her children.

It is Korra who answers, and the water is clear enough that Ziah can see the age lines between her brows, at the corners of her eyes, around her mouth. “Mom, thank the gods—” she starts.

“I do not know who was responsible for that dream,” Ziah says, thankful that her voice is steady, “but we did not raise you to be cruel. Leave me in peace. All of you. I want to be alone.”

“Arianna’s pregnant,” Korra blurts, before Ziah cuts off the message. That stays her hand, and she looks away, out over the savanna that is slowly becoming desert with every mile she travels east. “I just... I just wanted you to know. She’s gonna name them after Dama.”

An Asra, to match a Nadia. She remembers the news—Evander’s second daughter, their fourth grandchild, Asra insisting they travel all the way to where he had been stationed in Drakr so they could meet little Nadi.

We’re grandparents, Mizi. She remembers how he’d laughed, in the midst of cleaning his spectacles with his shirt. Can you believe it?

Ziah splashes the water, breaking the connection.

Lina is—delighted is not the right word. Pleasantly surprised. Lina is pleasantly surprised to see her again.

She allows Ziah to take up her old rooms by the oasis she had brought forth from the desert, rooms that have nothing but a makeshift bed crafted out of scarab chitin and phoenix pelts.

Ziah does not know what it is—whether Tiamat’s absence, or the shroud of grief that clings to her shoulders and radiates from her body in waves—but Lina leaves her alone, this time.

Her dreams are peaceful.

She does not know how long she is in the desert. Time slips away. She is empty, and more and more often she fills her dreams with memories of Asra and Nadia and both. She spends her days reading their letters (Nadia’s elegant script, Your presence lights up even the darkest of places, and Asra’s simple scrawl, I’d cross all the seas to get back to you) or sleeping.

Her dead heart beats, but she does not feel anything except grief and emptiness.

Korra contacts her, once. Her hair is more gray than black, and Ziah cannot look at her because of it.

“Evander’s dead,” she says. “There was an accident.”

Ziah says nothing.

“Asra’s turning two in a few months. We’d love it if you could come.”

Ziah says nothing.

“Mom.” Korra’s voice breaks. “Please come home.”

Ziah says nothing. This time, it is Korra who breaks the dream. When Ziah blinks open her sore, sleep-crusted eyes, she finds the black-and-white photograph of them all—Nadia, Asra, their fourteen children. She finds Evander, standing beside Nadia with Nadia’s hand on his shoulder, and stares at his face the entire day.

Slowly, she begins to reshape her dreams, so that the memories include Evander as well. But when she wakes and faces the day, her thoughts grow more and more consumed with the ocean. Even here, in the desert, the sea beckons to her, pulling upon the foreign immortal soul within her own.

She gives herself to her dreams and to her longing for the sea, and pays no mind to the time that slips through her fingers like sand.

She dreams of the desert, of shifting sands and silver dunes. She dreams of walking down an onyx road, one that will lead her back to the waves, where she should have died long ago.

“Wait!” an achingly familiar voice calls. She turns, and there Asra is—dressed in strange clothes, but unmistakably him, not some phantom constructed from the annals of her mind. She can feel his aura, something she has not sensed in years, decades, and it startles her so badly it shakes her out of the dream.

The next night, she has the same dream, and she does not know what to make of it. But it does something strange: it makes her heart beat anew.

Blaise comes to the Waste the day Ziah decides to return to the sea. Pepper carries them straight to the palace, and Lina threatens to kill them both for their presumption, but Pepper lifts her golden-orange wings and roars right in Lina’s face. Ziah explains, and Lina begrudgingly returns to the palace, sighing oh, all right, you two have your fun.

Blaise does not look any older than twenty-five, and Ziah’s breath catches in her throat. She looks at Blaise’s chest, reaching out with her magic, and there—a sliver of Pepper’s soul, young and vibrant, fresh where Tiamat’s is shriveled within her.

“How long?” she asks, quietly.

“Auroth taught her,” Blaise says, resting their hand on Pepper’s massive flank. Pepper lowers her head, her snout taller than Ziah herself, and Ziah rests a hand between her nostrils, remembering the day she’d hatched. Beside her, Blaise says, “I’ve been twenty-five for a hundred and thirty-two years.”

Ziah closes her eyes.

“Mom,” Blaise says, “the world’s a lot different than when you left. But if you want to go back, I’m here to bring you home.”

Ziah thinks of Asra, calling wait!, the desperation in his voice. She closes her eyes. She breathes, and lets her heart feel hope. “Yes,” she says.

She dreams of Asra a third time, and this time, she lets him reach her. He crashes into her, pulls her off of the road that leads to the sea, and they kneel in sand that turns to meadow.

She is weeping, but she does not feel her tears; she touches Asra’s cheek, as he stares at her in wide-eyed bewilderment and relief, and she says, “Thank you, sweet. Thank you for bringing me back. I will find you, I promise.”

Vesuvia’s palatial gardens have been transformed into a public park. She does not know what to make of the new world that awaits her, one that roars at night and day both, one where the city’s lights are so bright she sometimes thinks it is daylight.

But the willow tree remains, as does her name, worn smooth by time.

She sits under the willow tree, reading old letters and staring at old photographs, and it is there he finds her. She looks at him, and though she cannot breathe, she is for the first time in a hundred years aware of her own heartbeat.

There you are, she wants to say. I’ve missed you so much.

“Hi,” he says, and offers her a smile, just as he had in a different lifetime. “It’s a beautiful day today, isn’t it?”

This was a questions tag thing that went around like a month ago, and it’s been sitting in my drafts waiting for me to finish it

1. What are you studying or what is your profession?

I’m studying economics! I’ll graduate with an honours undergrad degree next year, and then I want to complete a masters in economics, a masters in public policy, and a phD in economics, then spend my career writing macroeconomic policy for governments. Basically I want to run the world

2. I read a lot of opinion about FMAB and FMA03 Mustang, but what is your opinion about FMAB and FMA03 Edward?

I have opinions, and I am going to start on that essay post soon!

3. Where are you from?

I grew up in Victoria BC

4. What is your favourite film/book and why?

Across the universe is my favourite movie, because I love Beatles music, and I think the movie is just so well done. and Harry Potter is my favourite book, because, well, why does anyone like Harry Potter? It’s the first book I read all the way through, because it came out when I was a smol, the first book that had enough diverse characters that I could identify with, and rereading it it’s feels like catching up with an old friend❤

5. If you get a role in the FMA live action, which role would you play?

I would love to play Major General Olivier Mira Armstrong, but I think honestly, I would want more of like an extra role, because I’d be too busy fangirling to actually act, plus, acting isn’t really my thing

6. FMA03, FMAB or FMA manga?

Good golly, that’s tough. I haven’t read the manga yet, I have a processing disorder that makes it hard to read black and white manga. Between 03 and brohood, brohood is definitely a better series, but 03 is important to watch. I really love Ed’s character development in 03, and I LOVE satan Tucker’s fate. Death is too merciful for him, I love that he sufffeeeerrrrrrrrrsssssss

7. If you get an opportunity to meet with an author who would you choose?

I think Arakawa would be a really cool person to meet. From the little that I’ve read/heard about her, I feel like we’d get along

8. Which fictional character would be your best friend?

I think Mai from atla would be my saltmate for sure

9. Favourite fandom?

Definitely fma

10. When did you join to the tumblr community?

I think I made a tumblr in like 2012, but didn’t really get into it, then after watching fma, I started looking at fanart, and found royai fanfics that soothed my soul, and then I started using Tumblr, so mid 2016.

11. Do you make fanarts, fanfictions, amv etc.?

I wish. I am an artist, but I paint impressionist landscapes, so fanart isn’t really my domain. And I’ve never really been a writer.

This was kind of answered with when did I join Tumblr. But I got into fma after my brother nagged me to watch it. I got into fandom back in the days of My Immortal and the Harry Potter fandom, but I didn’t have a tumblr back then, so it was more looking at hp fanart on deviantart and MySpace, and googling fanfics, but I was never part of a fandom community until I found fma

What’s your favourite part about your favourite fandom?

I love that the fma fandom is still thriving, like, brohood ended 6 years ago, and people are still joining the fandom, making new art and fics, it’s awesome!

If you could spend the day with any fictional character, who would it be and why?

I’d love to spend a day with Katara, she’s so incredible, and I think I could learn a lot from her, like just how to be a better person in general

What fictional character has had the biggest impact on your life or has inspired you the most?

Hermione was the first character to have an impact on me. And it was because I have gigantic teeth just like her. Seriously, my front teeth are like twice the size of my husbands, and I’ve had these teeth since I was a tiny 8 year old. So I latched onto her character, and started to find more similarities between me and her, and she taught me it’s ok to be smart and a girl

Talk about your favourite book (I KNOW IT’S HARD but if you had to pick one).

Lol hp fo sho. It's just so perfect, like even now, there's still more I'm learning about the Harry Potter universe, and so many more headcanons I can get behind...and more reasons to hate Snape

Do you have any accomplishments or anything in your life you feel the most proud of?

Ha, way too many. I have a super interesting back story, but that will take to much to talk about here

Tell us about a project you have going on! Or if you don’t have one, maybe something you’ve always wanted to write or draw?

Right now I’m doing an econometric analysis on whether minimum wage increases have impacted the CPI in British Columbia for the last 30 years, and I’m also writing about how Canada’s economy wouldn’t have developed without the help of the Indigenous Peoples

How do you feel about AU’s?

Meh. I like the funny au headcanons, like the one @izumiicurtis proposed, where everyone wears period clothing, except ed still looks like he robbed hot topic in the dark (that is the best joke in the fandom I swear) but I never really got into au's

Do you have any favourite composers or soundtracks?

I really love the Rent soundtrack

In your opinion, what is the best Disney movie to come out since Disney’s Golden Age?

lol I’m 5 feet tall and I’ve never been in a fight in my life, If I tried to stop them, I’d somehow trip and accidentally press the big red button that sets the plan in motion (oh there’s no big red button that does that? surprise, when I’m around, there’s suddenly a big red button that does The Bad Thing(tm) )

5. Which is your favorite AU?

Idk, I’m not really into AU’s

6. What fictional character would you have a comfortable silence with?

Riza. I feel like she’s the type who doesn’t do small talk, but when she gets to know you she starts like, making puns and when she has a topic to talk about, she really gets into it. And she doesn’t seem like the type to be awkward with silence

7. Which fictional character would you introduce to your family?

Riza. I think she’d have a lot of fun with my family, and I think my family would like her. I would say Olivier, but she doesn’t seem like the ‘meet the parents’ type of person to me

Katara in legend of korra, they really did a horrible job with her character

i love how pidge and allura are different sides of the same coin. they both can do something “magic-like”. allura can tap into quintessence energy and pidge can access olkarion’s energy. they can both siphon and exchange with this type of science-y magical energy. it’s something the other paladins can’t really do. i think with pidge’s connections to forests/nature/etc. she can do this type of magic energy anywhere. as long as it’s a terrestrial planet of course

i mean the alteans may be a victim of honerva’s madness just like everyone else, but they literally went to another planet to destroy a people (the olkari) that never hurt them. i’m sry but they are the villains in this arc. you could have questioned lotor (AND HONERVA) like romelle did. you could have been eager to question and learn rather than be manipulated. you could have thought for yourselves instead of reacting like a hivemind. honerva keeps talking about how the galra are inherently evil, but here she’s doing this kind of shit. she’s a hypocrite, but she’s my hypocrite.
