"This is all your fault, you stupid love cook," Zoro seethed from across the table.

"My fault? How is this my fault? Do you think I put her up to this???"”

“You did!” Nami butted into the argument, “Why the hell did you tell her to ‘follow her heart’ when she admitted to crushing on someone?!”

“I didn’t think she was referring to him!” Sanji gestured helplessly to what was disappointingly, the man of your affection.

“She looks like you with all the dopey faces she makes every time she sees him! Who else did you think it was?!” Zoro slammed his fist onto the table, not having any of Sanji’s attempts to shrug off the blame here.

Sanji’s face dropped and he sniffled loudly, “... Me.” With that he dissolved into a puddle of tears on the table they were all seated around. Well, all but one of them.

You were seated at the piano in the center of the restaurant, which you had commandeered by shoving the actual pianist off the bench and threatening to kick his ass if he interrupted you. To say that you had possibly had a little too much to drink tonight would be an understatement, but none of them thought to cut you off, and now they’re all going to suffer for it.

Not one of them could have guessed Captain Smoker was going to make an appearance, and absolutely not a soul in this restaurant would have been able to guess what you were going to do about it.

“I think we all share some blame here for not stopping her the second she stood up,” Robin’s face was in her hands, too ashamed to even look at what was happening. “Especially after she said ‘this one’s for my one and only true love: Captain Smoker’.”

Now it was too late. Now you were drunkenly belting out a love ballad to a fucking marine in the middle of a crowded restaurant and none of them were willing to go up there and stop you. Everyone was too embarrassed to go and associate with you when you were acting like this. Except Luffy who was happily taking advantage of your now unattended plate.

Their discomfort was nothing though, not in comparison to the absolute mortification on Smoker’s face right now. All he could do was stand there in abject horror as one of the pirates he’s been chasing for months loudly, and publicly, professed her love for him. His cigars had fallen to the floor after he had bitten clean through them. You were slamming away on the piano, not particularly well, and chanting Smoker’s name like it was a damn prayer.

“If it weren’t for the fact that all of you are still seated, I would think this is the most genius idea for a distraction ever conceived. I’ve never seen Smoker stopped dead in his tracks like this,” Tashigi was standing next to their table, a mix of second-hand embarrassment and pity on her face.

Zoro glanced at her, not even caring that she snuck up on them, “You’re not gonna help your captain?”

Tashigi looked on at the drunken confession wearily. She doesn’t get paid enough to run interference on whatever the hell was going on over there. She cleared her throat and shook her head, “No, Smoker prefers to fight his own battles.” It was a lame excuse, but no one called her on it. None of them had any room to talk right now.

Just as she said that, they could hear you take a deep breath and scream out more of this weird song you came up with, “Captain Smoker, at the end of the line, I’ll make you mine!”

Finally, mercifully, Smoker snapped out of his stupor and launched himself forward. One arm wrapped around your middle and the other hand clamped over your mouth, thankfully silencing you. As he pulled you off the bench, his head darted around, desperately searching for the rest of your crew.

Tashigi waved him down, appearing to take mercy on her horrified captain. He marched his way over there, doing his damnedest to ignore the stares and whispers directed towards him. It didn’t help that you were wiggling around like a fish, not a care in the world for the scene you just created.

Smoker got to the table and unceremoniously dropped you into your empty chair. The second his hands were off you, yours were on him. You spun around and threw your arms around him, nuzzling your face into his exposed chest. Despite all the alcohol in your system, you were somehow strong enough to resist being immediately pushed off of him.

“Smokey~! Did you like my song? I sang it just for you!” You looked up at him, a love struck smile plastered over your face.

Gags resounded around the table at the cheesy nickname, and Smoker couldn’t help but grimace, “Do not ever call me that again.”

All that got him was some giggles, “Oh my god, you’re so funny! C’mon Smokey, we both know you love it! I mean look at you, your face is all red!” Not only was his face flushed, even his neck and ears were turning red. Smoker cursed over how pale he was.

Nami, who was seated next to you, was trying to pull you off of the marine, ”Lucky I am begging you to stop talking.” And singing. She would forget about your debt to her if you promised to never sing again.

You swatted at her while your other arm still clung onto Smoker, “Nuh-uh, you can’t tell me what to do! You’re just jealous that I found my one true love before you did!” Obviously the only reason anyone would disapprove of your current behavior was because they wanted what you had. What you and Smoker have, you should say.

Smoker took advantage of your loosened grip to rip you off of him, taking several steps back for good measure. The look you gave him was devastating, tears immediately welling in your eyes, “Smoker? Where are you going? Did you not like it?” Oh god, you were even starting to choke up.

As much as no one wanted you to be with this marine, they didn’t want you sobbing in the middle of the restaurant because of him either. Smoker was now getting dirty looks from not only the Straw Hats, but also the patrons in this establishment who no doubt thought they were witnessing some sort of lovers quarrel. He ran a gloved hand down his face, hating every second of this.

“Lucky, you’re very drunk. You need to eat something and sober up,” he tried to gently turn you around, but this didn’t work as you managed to weasel your way past his arms and clung onto his waist like it was a lifeline.

Sniffling pitifully, you asked again if he didn’t like your song, “Did you hate it? D-Do you hate me?”

Smoker looked at Tashigi for help, but she was refusing to make eye contact. He risked looking back at you, only to see actual tears starting to drip down your face. His heart panged at the sight and he internally cursed himself for what he was about to say.

“It was… fine. I don’t hate you, please stop crying,” he awkwardly patted your shoulder, hoping that would be enough to calm you down.

“Really?” You immediately brightened up, much to his relief, “I knew it, I knew you would! I have more songs I can sing!” Relief promptly turned to horror as you attempted to get up and return to the piano.

Smoker forced you back down, swiped a bread basket off a tray from a passing by waiter, and shoved the whole thing into your hands. “No, Lucky, no more singing. Please just eat something,” he was practically begging at this point, wanting literally anything to help and absorb the alcohol.

You openly pouted, but did start ripping off and eating pieces of bread. There was a collective sigh of relief from the entire table.

“Tashigi, we’re leaving.”

“But Captain, the Straw Hats are right here! We should apprehend them,” she protested.

“I am not dealing with the rumors that would be started by dragging this woman out of here after what she did,” his reputation would never recover. That, and he didn’t particularly want to deal with listening to your drunk ass all night.

Just as he was walking away, grateful that you hadn’t piped up again, he caught a look of panic flash across everyone else’s faces. He saw at least three of them spring out of their seats to grab you, and he took that as his cue to leave faster with Tashigi in tow. He put two cigars in his mouth, and debated on a third after the night he’s had.

“Lucky no! Don’t you dare!” Nami was holding onto your arms for dear life, having just barely stopped you from slapping Smoker’s ass as he walked away.

Zoro hefted you up into his arms and deposited you into Luffy’s lap, “Hold onto her and do not let go for the rest of the night.”

Luffy immediately coiled his arms around you, not wanting you to get up and do anything else. He propped his head onto your shoulder and huffed at the whole ordeal, “Lucky, why do you have to like a marine of all people?”

“The heart wants what the heart wants, you wouldn’t get it,” you sigh dreamily, eying up Smoker’s retreating form until he was out of sight.

“Can’t we just leave now? Please,” Usopp pleaded, slumped down in his seat to the point that only his nose remained visible.

“No, we need to give Smoker a head start, we can’t risk Lucky spotting him again,” Nami immediately shot that idea down. It’s not like she didn’t want to leave, she absolutely did, but she couldn’t risk everything that just happened repeating.

This had to have been the worst hangover of your life, you don’t think it could get worse than this. The events of last night were blurry, but not enough to save you from the crushing humiliation of everything you did. Currently you were seated at the table on the main deck upon Chopper’s insistence that the fresh air would make you feel better.

Due to your head being buried in your arms, you don’t see who’s approaching. Suddenly, something is dropped on your head, making you groan from the contact. You lift your head enough to glare at the perpetrator, “Nami why?”

The smug look on her face was enough to make anyone’s blood run cold, “Oh no reason, I just thought you might want to look at the newspaper this morning.”

Oh god. The look on her face promised that you would NOT want to see it, but it was too late to ignore it now. You sat up faster than you thought you could in your given state and snatched up the paper, only to almost scream when you saw the cover story.

“Scandalous! Pirate and Marine have lovers quarrel in restaurant!”

Immediately beneath the title was a picture of you clinging onto Smoker with tears and snot running down your face. Truly they couldn’t have gotten a worse picture of you if they tried. Not that Smoker looked much better with the genuine panic flitting across his face.

“He’s going to kill me,” you say barely above a whisper.

Fruit headcanons - Fruit they love, fruit they hate

This is based on a conversation with the lovely @wolvesandhoundshowltogether. The credit for August’s love for sinful red fruits goes to Marta as well. Thank you for indulging in my silliness, baby ❤️ in a summer mood. Summer=fruits! 🍑🍒🍓

Mike likes peaches. They’re juicy and sweet, almost like candy. He prefers nectarines though, the skin is less fuzzy. He also likes watermelon, strawberries and cherries. He only touches apples in the shape of apple pie. He doesn’t like many fruits to begin with, but he absolutely despises grapes, blueberries and raspberries, because each time he tried them as a kid, they always were mushy. And he would never in his life touch a banana. ...Is pizza a fruit?

Sy loves peaches, obviously. They’re his favourite. Otherwise he’s not picky. Apricots are in his top ten. But he doesn’t like… absolutely hates citrus. The taste is okay, but he hates the texture.

Walter on the other hand loves citrus. Oranges, tangerines, grapefruit, even pomelo. He loves them all. He also really likes mangos and figs. Hates watermelons. It tastes like sweet cucumber to him… No thanks, he’ll pass.

August likes fruits that are red and sinful. Cherries, pomegranate are among his favourites. He also really likes both pink grapefruit and pink pineapple. Passion fruit, too. Not sure if it counts as fruit, but he hates, absolutely despises coconut.

Geralt likes the fruit he can find on the Path. They are rare, but he is always happy to find raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, the occasional apple or pear when he passes an orchard. And for obvious reasons, he likes gooseberries. It’s not that he hates it, but he doesn’t like fruits that are more exotic than what he is used to. Call it caution. He can never know if the fruit is poisonous… or if he is allergic to it. He learned that the hard way… he curses those cherries!

Will likes papayas, mangos, oranges, pineapples, peaches, grapes… you name it. In sunny San Francisco, he takes every fruit he can get his hands on. Running between meetings, the juicy treats are a welcome refreshment. He makes sure to always keep some pre-cut in the little fridge he has in his office. He hates plums, though.

Napoleon likes tropical fruits. The less known it is, the better! Lychees and dragon fruit are among his favourites.Star fruits, dates and mangosteen are a luxury he got used to. But don’t get him to try kiwi. He hates kiwi.

Clark tries hard to pass as human. His favourite fruits are those considered the favourite fruits of most of humanity. Apples, bananas, mangos. He might include in a conversation that tomatoes and olives are fruits. He likes those too. He could never understand the hype around strawberries, though. To him they smell and look like they should taste so much better than they actually do.

Sherlock is curious by nature. So he tries lots of different fruits imported to England: passion fruit, peaches, oranges. Of homegrown fruits he is used to cherries, apples and pears, and the expensive figs. You can chase him with rhubarb. He hates that stuff.

Yeah Lando absolutely plans it. He would never do something like that out of nowhere. He has music and a plan and everything. Except the moment he gets onto your lap, it all falls apart and he ends up just grinding against your lap and whining, the rest of the dance forgotten.

YUKI:

Yuki has this innate talent for it? He’s never tried it before, and he’s never had any interest in practicing. SIR LEWIS:

Yeah they both plan the whole thing, having a routine and music and everything.

The difference though, is that while Carlos is all sexy and serious, Alex ends up laughing his ass off halfway through and nearly breaks his leg. Both experiences are lovely though, just very different.

PIERRE AND ESTEBAN:

Oh god both of them?? Even though they plan it as a joint surprise for you, it ends up being a competition between the two of them. And before you know it, you have one of them on each thigh, both grinding against you. I've already complained a lot about the pacing, and how the film suffers because of it. So now I want to switch gears and talk about some of the stuff I did like (it's a long list!). Putting it under a read more, because of spoilers:

Mario being a protective big brother ❤️

Mario calling Luigi "Lu" (it's no "Weegee" or "Weeg", but it's still cute)

"Nothing can hurt us as long as we're together"

The flashback of the baby bros 😭

Luigi being the one to protect Mario at the end

Mario and Luigi's relationship in general is so incredibly sweet and definitely the highlight of the film for me

Peach is a badass, but she's also cute. Which is exactly how I think she should be depicted

Toad is cute and funny, and I wish we could've seen more of his dynamic with Mario and Peach

Mario and Peach's interactions are cute, even if they're rushed

THE MARIO AND LUIGI HUG WJEHEBEJSUUSUDHSHSBSHSHSJSJ IT'S EVEN BETTER THAN THE LM3 HUG I'M 😭 THE FOREHEAD TOUCH AHWEHEHEHDNJE THEY'RE THE BEST SIBLINGS EVER I WOULD DIE FOR THEM

I like Peach's backstory (even if I have a lot of questions about the circumstances surrounding them crowning her princess). I think it's sweet that she became their protector after they raised her. The idea of her possibly being from Mario's world is also very interesting to me. I hope fanfic writers go nuts with that

Mario having daddy issues is kind of a funny concept to me, but also really interesting, and it's something I'd like to see explored more (probably in fanfics)

I love how sweet and supportive their mom is!

Mario and DK's rivalry is fun

CAT MARIO IS SO ADORABLE SJHWHSJJWJJSSJ I LOVE HIM

Luigi 💚 (literally all he has to do is exist and I love him with all my heart and soul)

Lumalee was funny (even if I wish they'd actually done something with the character)

I was disappointed about Peach not actually using the halberd, but she still gets to beat up Bowser, so I'm not complaining too much

Peaches 🍑

The concept of Bowser being able to play piano is something I never realized I needed in my life (definitely need to incorporate it into a future fanfic)

I love the way they incorporated the game mechanics into the worldbuilding. I want to see what they'd do with other stuff, like 1-ups (like we thought we were getting)

The idea of Mario hating mushrooms is funny

Pauline got a cameo at least

The score was great

The DK Rap being included was funny

It's cool to have official versions of Mario's parents (even if they're probably not canon)

Having Charles Martinet voice Mario's dad was a cute touch (and it makes him saying "these are my boys!" at the end really sweet in a meta way)

I actually liked most of the voices. The only one that remotely bothered me was Cranky, because he doesn't sound old enough, but even then I don't really hate it. Yes, I actually came around to Prattio in the end, so fucking sue me (it helps that his performance is better than in the trailers, and you can actually hear the Brooklyn accent now)

The Bowser's Fury theme playing in one part made me so happy because that's one of my favorite Mario games ever

I loved seeing Mario being insecure and scared! It was really refreshing

This might sound weird, but I actually appreciate them not holding back on the violence in some places. The most notable example is during the climax, when Mario is all bruised up from Bowser beating the shit out of him

As I've said before, the animation is absolutely gorgeous. The expressive character animation and the color choices are what really make it shine

The action sequences are so good! Even just Peach doing the training course was mesmerizing

Peach is just...so nice. People were assuming she'd be a stereotypical girlboss that hates men or some crap, but she really isn't. (I never did; I had faith that they'd get her right.) She waits for Mario to complete his training so he can save Luigi, even though there's a looming threat to her kingdom. She lets Mario go with her even though he didn't complete it, and tries to make him feel better about not getting it on the first try. And she's willing to marry someone she hates just to protect her kingdom (and then tricks him and beats him up). I love her 💖

I like how Peach says "my Toads"; it feels like she's saying "my family" (because they are her family, and she'll never let anything happen to them 🩷)

I already mentioned Mario and Luigi's relationship. But one scene that I haven't seen anyone talk about it when they're in Mario's room after their dad rejects him, and Luigi tries to comfort him. Mario is a great brother in this movie, but so is Luigi 💚

As much as I love Mario x Peach, I'm glad they don't try to force the relationship (outside of other characters shipping them, lol). There's not much time for that to happen--partly because of the pacing, but also because they're both focused on stopping Bowser and wouldn't be thinking much about that anyway. I would like to see some romance between them in a potential sequel, but I also want the development of their relationship to feel natural

Mario finding his strength and confidence through his desire to protect the people he cares about 🥰

They did the "So long gay Bowser" tail swing

The character designs are sooooooo good! Mario and Luigi are precious, Peach is pretty, Bowser looks cool, etc. I love how everyone looks! 👌

Luigi's hair 😏

There's probably more I could add here, but I should probably stop before this post becomes ridiculously long lol. Despite the issues I had with this movie, there's still a lot I appreciate about it. And it made me smile and laugh the whole way through, so that makes it good in my book. It's definitely going to be one of my comfort movies from now on.

It actually means so much to see ppl interested in my oc and world building stuff!! Im having a lot of fun talking about it more.

I actually have a toyhouse for my ocs but its out of date and needs to be cleaned up. Other than that i don't have a whole lot aside from a couple google docs with info! I plan on putting a better formed info thing together soon when my hand is better and i can properly type again as the world itself is also getting some fresh new setting dev. Im always down to answer any questions or chatter about it tho! Im actually trying to get better about sharing so these little asks help and boost that confidence so i cant thank you enough. 🥺💞 (thank you for the get well soon!!! It will hopefully be healed asap!!!)

Eli:

🌶️ [HOT PEPPER] Who would your OC declare their sworn enemy if they could meet them?

- It ends up being my bf's oc Sulfur. Eli absolutely detests him and wants nothing more than to snuff him out with his bare hands.

🥦 [BROCCOLI] What do they hate about humanity/their species?

- Eli actually has a deep rooted hatred for other Calamities that are born from fire. He hates fire and holds so much pain and hatred towards them that it has turned him into a very angry hurtful person.

🍌 [BANANA] Have parts of your OC been lost to time (in-universe)? What do they wish they could lose from themselves?

- I already answered banana for Eli but another part of him that had been lost to time was how to have feelings and left people in. It took a long time and their partner Damon being so persistent for him to open up a little. Something he would lose from himself is the scars on his face which have left him half blind.

Pivot:

🍑 [PEACH] How do they show their kindness? How kind are they truly?

- Piv shows his kindness by being loud and making people around him laugh. He is also the type to help others out with tasks to the best of his ability. Heavy manual labor being where he works best. Despite this.... Piv isn't the kindest person. He actually has a really violent side towards people who may threaten him or his boyfriends.

🥕 [CARROT] How tough is your OC against certain situations? How weak are they against others?

- Pivot is insanely tough, physically and mentally. Its really hard to shake him but if you get him into a serious fight, especially if him or his loved ones are threatened he is weak to going ballistic and blacking out until the aggressor is no longer a problem.

🥔 [POTATO] What do they have that others see as a flaw, but they don't care about?

- I would have to say how aggressive he gets in fights. Even in fun sparring with friends he tends to go a bit too hard. While he will try to dial back if asked he doesn't particularly care that people think its a flaw bc he's proud if his fighting skills.

Spencer:

🥝 [KIWI FRUIT] How does their outside appearance differ from who they are?

-i answered one kiwi about Spencer but another for him is that he has this energy about him that makes you think he's probably into bar fights and getting into shenanigans but really he is actually straight edge and his favorite hobby is drawing in his sketchbook.

🍐 [PEAR] What is their current social standing? If they could change it, would they, and to what?

- Spencer is currently kind of a no body tbh. He's known within the cult he escaped just bc his father was the leader but outside of those people the only person he has for a bit is Fel. Spencer is actually fine with laying low, he's not searching for glory just trying to keep the realm he calls home from total destruction.

🥬 [LEAFY GREEN] How mundane are they? Do they like it that way?

- Spence is pretty down to earth. He's just a dude trying to live his life and be happy. The most special thing about him is that he's technically a vessel and has some shadow manipulation abilities but other than that he's just a dude and is more than content with it.

🌱: What is something you want to begin learning?

So many things! I guess if I had to pick one I’d say I’d like to learn ballet so I could enjoy that art with my daughter. I know nothing about ballet other than pointe is a thing and you sometimes wear tutus 😂 (And for those that have not seen Touché, my god, you are missing out on all that is currently happening in ballet!!)

🧵: What is a recent creative project that you are proud of?

A private writing project I’m currently working on. I am just so happy with the concept behind it and the way it has come together. Teigran is from it and I love her normal amounts!

🐄: What is one other tumblr blog you appreciate?

Ahhh! No don’t make me pick one!! If I absolutely had to pick, it would be a tie between @storyofmychoices and @nessverse! These two gorgeous and incredibly talented women are the best of people and the most honest and kind individuals a gal could ask to know. It is my absolute privilege and pleasure to call them my friends!

🍑: What is a color that makes you smile?

Orange! Name the shade and it’s my favorite. Mango. Sunset. Sunrise. Nectarine. Flame. All are the best!!

🍃: What is a plant you find beautiful?

My goodness you picked the hard ones today. I love so many! Bergamot is a beautiful one that I love to enjoy it’s beauty both in sight, scent, and taste. The other one would be stinging nettle because that bitch hurts but is oh so delicious (especially in a cheese made in my corner of the world).

🐝: What is a video game you find comforting?

I don’t play any 😅 but one of brother became obsessed with Legend of Zelda growing up and I always wanted to play with him. Occasionally he’d let me and it was the best and I always treasure those memories. (To this day he will only play a game if he can somehow classify it as old school.)

🧸: Do you ever want to raise kids some day?

No 😂 Joking! I currently have some that I get to share this life with and they are everything wonderful and joyous in this life.
