Unwell about the idea of Orin using Durge's face to keep the charade going of the Durge still being around, so Gortash doesn't get suspicious.

He does anyway because she didn't understand how real their relationship was - and she slips up. Often. He knew immediately when the Dark Urge became so, so very cold. Nothing like the warmth he has known for years now behind closed doors; because it isn't them.

She is good at fine details of the body; she gets every scar, every little blemish perfectly, but she can never truly imitate the person behind the Urge.

She couldn't have hoped to anyway, because she didn't know who they really were. Only Gortash could, because he is the first to ask.

It surprises her, and infuriates her, even! The mighty Dark Urge, debased into some lovesick puppy yearning after this little Lordling!

And the mistakes that follow are how Gortash learns the Dark Urge is gone.

Honestly, I don't think she would have one taunt line that she'd often use!

She would taunt her enemies, for sure, with the kind of sentences that are both overconfident and dismissive. Especially if she's assuming more of a "tank" position, so if she's fighting to protect someone or alongside someone who would not tank hits as easily. She has to keep the aggro! That, and she do actually believe herself to be a better fighter than most ahahah

There would certainly be some common lines that work in most situation ("Is that all you got?" "Gonna have to try harder to break someone like me!"), but if she can she makes her digs more personal.

He wouldn’t have had a smile so big his face ached when he’d seen Martin’s post following Silverstone— a picture taken from where Martin had been watching on his laptop because God forbid he missed whatever Lando and Max were doing. Lando hadn’t asked at the time and Martin hadn’t mentioned it, but the thought of how Martin reacted when he took the lead kept him up that night. Or: Max and Lando go to Martin's gig following Spa 2023, and Lando realizes his feelings aren't so one-sided.

do you know what i love even more about the vegaspete scene in this ep? the fact that in this ep is when we see vegas unmasked. we’ve had all these rumblings about how awful vegas really is, how he’s evil and how he’s dangerous and how he’s gonna fuck over the main family, but we’ve never really seen it until now. and in that way, we’re like porsche and tawan, two men vegas has been playing with and two men he’s tried to ruin. porsche he played innocent with, sweet, flirted at first but when he realized that wasn’t getting through, that kinn was too protective and porsche wouldn’t fall for him like that, he still got in his mind with that whole “kill me nicely” speech last ep. and tawan, who he strung around with pretend romance and love and promises of marriage, all to manipulate him into doing his bidding, completing his plan. now porsche sees vegas as the man the rumors say he is, evil and scheming and dangerous, and tawan realizes that all he’s been told has been a lie, that the ring is just a ring, that he was just a playing piece to vegas and nothing else. and when unmasked, both porsche and tawan react how vegas wants them to, they’re horrified and broken and disgusted and angry. that’s what vegas wants, what he thrives of, getting that response out of people. he wants to be threatening and dangerous and feared. and he’s played the game with pete too, flashed small smiles, acted nice and calm, never done anything outright terrifying or threatening. so now, when pete is stripped and bound, and vegas is coming towards him with the ability and the promise to break him, when he’s unmasked, he wants that response. but he doesn’t get it. because pete smiles. he laughs, he looks the evil in its face and grins. and you see, it makes vegas mad. bc when pete is screaming and writhing in pain, vegas is smiling, his face is lit up with sadistic joy. but when pete smiles back, his face drops, gets stiff, there’s that angry tension behind that smile that says “you dare laugh at me”. it makes him angry, it makes him wanna give pete more, make him suffer more. and it plays in to pete’s hands. because pete can take it. bc more than any kind of joy or kick he gets from the pain, what will delight him more, is seeing the way he can get under vegas’ skin, and make him break just as much as he is breaking.

#also I think it’s very much Pete actually laughing at Vegas for his failure #not just for failing but bc he knows he caused that failure #that he ruined everything #and he laughs at Vegas to taunt him #to make him mad #to get that rise out of him #bc he won #he might be the one tied up and tortured #but he won the bigger game #and he loves that #he loves that he ruined this man’s stupid lil plan #and he will happily take any punishment knowing that #that’s what makes Pete tapped #he walked in there knowing there was so little chase he’d walk out again #and yet he didn’t even flinch #didn’t even try #he did what he needed and took what he knew was coming #bc he wanted to win #and he wanted Vegas to lose #and that’s as much as a high as Vegas gets from torturing him #god I just #vegaspete makes me wanna ramble #their combined madness is just so delicious #and even for that tiny scene has lived up to everything I wanted #it’s unhinged and deranged and I adore it #kinnporsche
