as an anti Zionist Jew that’s been feeling really torn up about my identity lately, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for letting others know that our people don’t need Israel and that it is not synonymous with judiasm. I was somewhat recently banned on tumblr for “targeted harassment”. the post that got me banned? a post in which I said Israeli settlers and former IDF soldiers had actively engaged in ethnic cleansing and genocide. 

I attempted to appeal the ban but have gotten nowhere, and I do see this as the final reason in why I should stay away from tumblr as a whole. I am no longer interested in coming back to tumblr, and will be making no future efforts to do so.

however, some important updates I want to give: many people whom I was mutuals with were there for my entire law school journey, the passing of the bar, and my entrance into the career of public defender. this is something I’ve been dreaming of and working towards for years now. 

in october, the union which represents the office of public defenders I work with, and the majority of public defenders in NY entirely, proposed a resolution on the genocide in Palestine, reinforcing the rights of union members to speak out against apartheid and ethnic cleansing and calling for an end to Israeli occupation. in response, four Zionist members of the union have commenced a lawsuit in attempt to get an injunction against the union members voting on the resolution. the union has now filed a motion to move the case to federal court, thus removing it from the jurisdiction of conservative Long Island state court judges, but also to have the action deemed as an unconstitutional infringement on free speech. 

since the lawsuit was filed, a supervisor at my office has cursed out myself and the 8 new attorneys I was hired with, telling us to “get the fuck” out of her office if we don’t support Israel, and we do not deserve to work there if we do not agree with her. so now we are also in the process of filing a union grievance and EOC claim against the supervisor. this has put us at significant odds against management and we may very well lose our jobs over this (we are at-will employees for the first 3 years of our contract, so while discriminatory firings are illegal, it would be near impossible to prove in this instance.) I am likely to lose my dream job that I have worked years to reach over this. 

The attempts to silence any and all people who speak out against the atrocities being committed with our tax funding cannot be ignored. When we look back at the atrocities of history and wonder how they were allowed to occur, it is because many people feel more comfortable turning a blind eye to the suffering of those “other” to them, and those that do care are faced with coordinated censorship campaigns armed with threats of loss of employment, homelessness, incarceration, violence, and even death. 

In the time all of this has occurred, thousands of men, women, and children have been senselessly and brutally massacred by Israeli forces, aided by other world powers. The US is actively and happily funding the genocide of Palestinians, as well as Britain, Canada, and other imperial nations. Babies have been abandoned and denied humanitarian aid, cities have been leveled, and families have been devastated. 

Attached here is the proposed resolution of the legal aid union. I stand by it wholeheartedly, and ask others to share it as well. There is no excuse for silence or complacency in the face of genocide. Those who are not in Palestine, have not witnessed and experienced the horrors in which every Palestinian citizen has been forced to endure, do not get the benefit of turning a blind eye. 

May we see a free Palestine in our lifetimes.

Hi, so I guess I didn’t make this clear in my several posts about palestine. If you don’t stand for the freedom of Palestine and chose to be neutral or stand for Israel, unfollow me immediately.

If you’re neutral you’re okay with mass genocide. You have to understand that this conflict has been building for decades. Israel — Zionists, just to be specific, not all jewish people — has been slowly overtaking the land of Palestine and displacing the people from their land for decades.

Israel is fighting an unequal “war” against citizens. The only military power that the people of Palestine have are in Hamas, and the power Hamas has is small at that.

I do not stand with Hamas, by the way. I stand with the civilians of Palestine that are uninvolved and are being attacked for their ethnicity. What Hamas did was inexcusable, but what Israel is doing in response is a million times worse. They are overreacting, clearly.

They are deliberately attacking civilian areas knowing the cost of human life. They are aware that they are killing more children than Hamas militants and they do not care. They attacked residential areas, hospitals, and REFUGEE CAMPS.

What’s worse? The largest countries in the world (not all, but many, specifically in the west) are backing them. I’m ashamed to call myself American, I’m ashamed of my country and the people who lead it.

They are asking them to evacuate, knowing damn well that they cannot and are making it exceptionally hard to do so. They want them to be displaced so they can take over Gaza. They cut water and power and are actively weakening any support for survivors to get help.

I’m going to say it again, they attacked refugee camps. They attacked refugee camps.

Oh, also, the school year has been canceled because most of the children in Gaza are dead. Yep, you read that right. What children are not dead are seriously injured.

And, I get it. The propaganda that the IDF is using is incredibly successful, especially among those who are zionists or are less educated about this long going conflict. But, let’s look back at where this type of propaganda has been used before.

The dehumanization of an ethnic group to justify the senseless killing and prove that your race is superior or deserves something more. Where have we seen this before? I wonder? Perhaps… Nazi Germany?

Hitler quite literally used the exact same tactics that the IDF is using today. Are we blind? Did we not all learn about the horrific acts of Nazi Germany? That’s the ironic thing, isn’t it? History repeats itself, it’s just crazy that the group that was undergoing the torture is now the one doing it. At a different level, I suppose, but my point stands.

It is NOT that hard to see if you have even a BASIC understanding of war and war crimes. This is genocide. Israel is committing war crimes. On purpose.

Staying neutral on genocide is supporting it. So if you’re neutral, unfollow me. I’m not here to debate this.

I’m sure I missed a million things, there is so much historical context that needs to be explained that I can’t do in one single post. But my point stands.

I will never be okay with genocide, and I stand with Palestine. These people have suffered for far to long, and we are far too late to notice.

Never really spoke about world issues on here before but I think it’s time I did.

If you’re actively supporting Israel, block me. Don’t interact with me. Don’t support me. Don’t speak to me.

This didn’t start on October 7th. It started in 1948 when the first Arab-Palestinians were displaced. I’ll state now that I in no way support any terrorist groups like Hamas, I stand only for the people in Palestine who are suffering everyday.

The body count so far is in the thousands. People are dying and families from outside Palestine don’t know if their family members are alive or dead. But that does not mean we get to be silent and stand aside whilst they suffer. Mourn the dead but keep fighting for those that are living.

Israel is actively ignoring UN regulations and actively ignoring international laws in this genocide. They’re killing innocent people and committing several war crimes. They’re levelling Gaza, they’re cutting the people off from any outside intervention and they’re stopping the people from helping themselves. It’s not a war if the people the country is fighting can’t even defend themselves, it’s murder. It’s genocide. And for some outlandish reason it’s been given a blind eye by so many world leaders.

If you’re silent or neutral, you are still doing damage and the people of Palestine deserve better than that. They don’t deserve to suffer. They deserve to know the world cares and is fighting for them. They are people. This isn’t a religious issue, it’s a humanitarian one. They’re human just like me and you and they deserve to have someone in their corner to fight for them.

To be clear, if you “stand with Israel” right now, you are ACTIVELY supporting genocide, ethnic cleansing, the murder and bombing of civilians, and around two dozen war crimes.

There is no “well I don’t know enough to have an opinion” Educate yourself. These are real actual people dying and being held hostage, blocked from escape by land, air and sea. “But what about the Israeli prisoners?” Those are Israeli generals and soldiers, being held so that they can’t kill any more people. The Palestinian prisoners are around two and a half million civilians (HALF OF WHICH ARE CHILDREN) who don’t have food, clean drinking water, electricity, shelter, or fuel.

They. Are. Not. The. Same.

This isn’t a “well both sides are bad” situation. Israel is in the wrong, and they are committing horrific atrocities right this very second (and have been for years, btw).

Additionally, almost every claim about Hamas in the media is false. That whole “40 babies beheaded” thing? Completely fabricated. No evidence for it whatsoever. Some of the news outlets have since walked back their claims, but they have not taken down the articles and those journalists are still actively employed and continue to write and spread misinformation and blatant lies. The U.S. government supports Israel, and are therefore perfectly happy to lie about the conflict in Gaza to make themselves out to be saviors.

Do not trust everything you see on the news. Actually, don’t trust anything you see on the news. Do actual research beyond headlines (ESPECIALLY those published by American news outlets and papers).

Israel is an active coloniser that is currently, right now, committing genocide and ethnic cleansing of people native to land that Israel stole almost a hundred years ago. I don’t stand for that and if you do, get the fuck off my blog! Leave!!! I am pro Palestine, pro BLM, pro Land Back. My goal in life is to increase my understanding of things to support any and all colonised peoples. And you know what? I’m also pro Jews! Jews have an inherent right to exist and practice their culture and religion in peace. Jews have been violently oppressed through history and have suffered for it. I understand this and mourn this and I am doing all in my earthly power to fight and unlearn anti semitism in my life.

But having the right to exist does not give someone or a group of someone’s the right to murder thousands of innocent people. And if you believe it does, then I hope your name is forever forgotten by the people who knew you. You know what drives me mad? The absolutely insane amount of pages within the “Conscious” community (Clearly NOT so Conscious) that run around pointing the finger at other pages and create a divide. First and foremost, if you wouldn’t say it to someone’s face, at a rally or on the streets, than you’re a pussy and don’t deserve what little voice you have online. Second, without fail every time I see a leader of a nation pointing the finger at another nation, I know they are guilty of what they accuse the other nation of.
