🌸 HISTORICAL NOTES - Akechi Mitsuhide(1528-1582)
As a disclaimer we do not know a lot about him and there is a lot of uncertainty when it comes to him, with that out of the way,i hope you enjoy my post.
He is said to have had been born in 1528(second the Akechi Gunki) and his parents are believed to be Akechi Mitsutsuna and a daughter of the Wakasa branch of the Takeda clan. His father died on the year 1538,leaving Mitsuhide under the guardianship of his uncle,Akechi Mitsuyasu.
In 1556; Saitō Yoshitatsu led a rebellion against his father and Mitsuhide's uncle,Saitō Dōsan. Mitsuhide supported Dōsan, however Dōsan lost and it led to Akechi Castle being attacked by Yoshitatsu. There are theories that say that Mitsuhide served Asakura Yoshikage for some time but i'm not so sure on how accurate those claims are.
Due to the Eiroku incident, that led to the murder of the shōgun Ashikaga Yoshiteru, his brother Ashikaga Yoshiaki fled to Wakasa province and got in contact with many powerful daimyō for support and particularly,Oda Nobunaga. Oda Nobunaga's invasion of Minō province caused Yoshiaki to lose his trust on him and for him to enter in contact with Asakura Yoshikage and led to him pleading with Yoshikage for him to march on the capital and get him proclaimed shōgun and this in turn led to Yoshiaki and Mitsuhide to get in contact. Mitsuhide was said to have persuaded Yoshiaki to not rely on Yoshikage and to instead search for Oda Nobunaga's support after Yoshiaki's pleas for Yoshikage to march upon Kyoto went ignored. Due to Sagiyama-Dono(Nōhime or Saitō Kichō/Kochō,Saitō Dōsan’s daughter and Mitsuhide’s cousin on her maternal side) being Oda Nobunaga’s legal wife,it was easy for him to get into contact with Nobunaga.
With the agreement between Yoshiaki and Nobunaga settled,Mitsuhide joined service under the Oda clan. He joined the march to Kyoto and in 1569,defended Yoshiaki from a attack. At a point, started to work with Hashiba Hideyoshi,Niwa Nagahide and Nagakawa Shigemasa to serve as magistrates on Kyoto.
He split from Yoshiaki on 1573,and continued to serve Oda Nobunaga throught his campaigns. Now I’m sorry but doing research on everything he did is kinda overwhelming but just keep in mind he was a great player among the Oda forces and served in many of Oda’s battles and campaigns.
In 1581,Mitsuhide became extremely depressed after the death of his younger sister,Tsumaki(who was said to have been one of Oda’s consorts). This was said to have had contributed to Mitsuhide’s betrayal of Oda the following year.
In 1582,after receiving orders from Oda to support Hashiba Hideyoshi during his campaign against the Mōri,he informed his senior retainers of his intention to betray Nobunaga.
The following month after this,Mitsuhide launched a attack on Honnō-ji Temple that caused Nobunaga’s death by Seppuku and Oda Nobutada,Nobunaga’s oldest son and heir, was surrounded at Nijō castle by the Akechi clan’s forces and died there. Hideyoshi, unlike Mitsuhide’s prediction, quickly signed a peace treaty with the Mōri and rushed to fill the power vacuum. Mitsuhide struggled to keep the support of his troops and his forces of 13,000 soldiers dwindled to 10,000.
Hideyoshi, who had joint forces with both Niwa Nagahide and Ikeda Tsuneoki, was quick to attack him at the battle of Yamazaki with his forces of 20,000 soldiers. It is unknown how Mitsuhide died, but he was said to have had died at the hands of a bandit who attacked him while he fled after his loss at the battle in July 2 of 1582.

Okay okay okay, this isn't really a request, just a question for opinion, or... A fub little something? No idea.
You know how people generally tend to have some weird little habits? Say, some people need to clean things in one particular order, or have items only they can use, or have a little song they sing when nobody watches? That sorta stuff.
Do you think IkeSen and/or IkeVamp guys have some?
My personal headcanon is that, although Masamune is ambidextrous, he can hold knife only with his right hand. Chopping stuff while holding it in his left one just feels clunky??
Oh, and for Mitsuhide 👀 He strikes me as a person who'd sing quietly once it's dark? You know, it's late and he's coming home, and humming to himself to kill the time...
Ohohoho this was too fun but not sure if I can call these habits per se?? 😸😸 here’s what I figure:
Kenshin
He walks every inch of the castle alone either very early in the morning (like before sunrise) or late at night before he goes to bed. I mean, he’s just so bored. But! While he’s patrolling, looking for a reason to fight someone or something, he actually comes to find that maybe, he really enjoys this! Hooray! While everyone else can see why a walk can be a great way to meditate or alleviate stress, Kenshin is just a tad bit confused as to why he’s compelled to incorporate these walks into his busy schedule.
Yukimura
Okay, as much as he feels affronted that Shingen has him selling women’s accessories, he still wants to do a good job and refuses to give anyone trying to do honest business a bad rep, and so, without fail, Yuki will always arrive to his post early (irrespective of his spy duties) and take his time arranging all the charms and whatnot so it’s all presentable—presentable in a way that makes sense to Yuki, so we’re not talking about organizing it by color or accessory type, but rather in size order lol. All with a determined look on his face. (Maybe his tongue is poking out a bit because, of course, arranging the accessories in such a way requires concentration.)
Hideyoshi
Now, this is specific to Mitsunari and MC. As the mother hen he is, I think if he sees one part looking out of place (obi, a lock of hair, etc.), he feels very compulsive and rather than fixing that one part first, he’ll go from the bottom up (or top down) and scan your person and will fix anything that needs to be fixed in that order so Mitsunari and MC will always look prim and proper.
Mitsuhide
I agree, he definitely hums a little diddy when he’s by himself, whether it’s walking back to his manor in the middle of the night or getting out of the bath and getting dressed for bed. Something very traditional and maybe even a melody he considers to be really beautiful and sweet. I also like to think that if ever a performance happens at the castle (traditional Noh theater for example) he’ll find himself mumbling the words later on.
Mozart
I believe that whenever there’s a family dinner with all the residents and Mozart undoubtedly finishes first so he can go back to practicing, he will always dab his mouth with a napkin, refold it, and set it on the table; he’ll place all the utensils the way they were before he began eating; and if he’s grabbed the salt or pepper, he’ll put it back in the exact position as he found it. Everything is spotless, everything looks the way it did before dinner was called. It’s almost like he was never there. No one bats an eye at his behavior. But Sebas has tried to tell him time and again that it’s unnecessary but Mozart, for all the times he’s been a bit rude or short with Sebas, this was his way of helping out by making his mess as inexistent as possible. Though he would never say it aloud.
Isaac
I think Arthur and Dazai tease Isaac about him only reading books about philosophy and science and that he should be adventurous and dive into fiction, but little did they know, if Isaac can spare the time, he’ll check out books from the library—all titles the two of them have said in passing conversation, and he’ll make little notes on scrap paper since he can’t annotate in the margins, and he’ll have conversations with himself about the plot as he’s reading before bed. And he has to resist the urge to talk about the book he’s currently reading lest he be teased even more for giving in to the authors’ previous jests.
Jean
I think this is more of a recent thing where he never really minded a messy station or working area whenever he was in town at his job, but now he’d like nothing more than to have everything in its own place and it definitely makes life just a tad easier. And ever since MC started teaching Jean how to read and write, he’ll label anything he can and is really proud of how organized he can be. And I think Jean would do that with anything else that can be labeled as long as he knows he’s not being a disturbance to anyone in the mansion. He’d probably start in the kitchen with jars and spices (under supervision from Sebas, of course).
Theo and Vincent
I think they both share similar nervous ticks. It could be tugging at their ear, bouncing their leg up and down, checking their wristwatch—all simultaneously. It never makes sense to anyone in the mansion to see them like this cause they’re almost never nervous wrecks but damn, once you see them so anxious, they look like two boys again. Usually, everyone is quick to console and/or help tackle the problem at its source. For Theo, it’s whatever gallery he’s secretly holding next. For Vincent, it’s usually because Theo has lost his cool.

Peevish Herbs and Sassy Medicine (Ieyasu x OC)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a chapter from one of my bigger fanfictions, I’m writing. But I’m too shy to post the whole thing anywhere... (because I’m doubting myself and my english too much)
But I’m quite pleased with this oneshot (so I corrected and re-readed it multible times)! Have fun while reading! I hope you’ll enjoy.
The scene takes place one day after arriving in Azuchi so it’s not the first encounter with Ieyasu, but their first... well... kind of conversation?
Fandom: Ikemen Sengoku
Language: english
Starring: Ieyasu x OC
Genre: Comedy

“Hey there, Ina! Masamune invited me to a stroll into town. I’m sure you’re not in the mood since your face is still puffy and all. So I understand when you don’t want to. I just leave you a note, so you know he’s looking out for me. cya!”
Oh well... it’s all right... I guess. Have a nice time, Rei -- WithOUT me!
Exasperated Ina’s sitting by the table in their room. Narrowing her grey blue eyes, she’s analyzing over the letter again, and yes, she's actually analyzing every single word. The female also would have loved to go strolling into town. Because she felt asleep during the ride back to the castle, she hasn't yet seen anything from it. Adventuring with her dear friend - and crony from the future - Rei, would have been so much fun, besides the puffy face Ina had because of mister spooky guy!
Stealing my friend on the first day, huh? Sneaky Masamune...
Absently Ina’s reaching for the sweets Masamune had brought over before he'd so casually took up her friend. Munching over them the sweet taste of the incrediences spreads over her tounge and she couldn’t help but feel a little bit guilty for her thoughts, while she's dreamily enjoying the treats. They are sooo delicious! Ina has never expected that! Didn't Masamune mentioned, he has made them himself? How amazing!
“I’m not in the mood anyway.” Ina says somewhat confident to herself, while eating the sweets happily. But what is she supposed to do after? Hideyoshi had sent her away before, to handle Ranmaru and like he said she wasn’t given free access to the castle or it’s staff. Heavily Ina sighs after finishing the last mochi.
Her vision’s crossing Rei’s letter again.
You know what? What Hideyoshi doesn’t know won’t hurt him!
  _____
Armed with a wipe and a bucket filled with water, Ina’s entering the archives. Her eyes are scanning her surroundings in which the massive shelves flank the room. Particles of dust are lightly dancing in the rays of shining sunlight from the small window above her, like illuminating sparks. Lanterns are shimmering luminously the walls, uncovering heavy, valuable looking tapestries. Great shelves are arching under the sheer weight of the books, scrolls and other stuff that they store. The smell of parchment and ink fills the the dusty air.
Ina’s truly impressed about the enourmus mass the archive is holding. She hasn’t expected seeing something like this in this time, when books and great knowledge should be merely rare.
“Hello?” Ina waits and listens after raising her voice. She wants to be sure, that there’s nobody else here, particulaly Hideyoshi, who would’ve bickered with her, why she’s even in there. The perfect silence remains at first, when she catches on a brief clink and a brushing tone.
Looking around, Ina quickly finds the source of the sound, when she’s seeing a little bird over the window. It disappears under the ceiling, before returning and it finally flies away.
Phew, just a birdnest in the ceiling, I guess.
Closing the door behind, Ina’s passing the shelves. Her eyes are flying over the spines of the books and scroll, astonished and visibly impressed. Originally planned she would have use the wipe to dust the inside, but Ina is way too stunned about the fullness of the archives. Though she has trouble in reading them, the female is concentrating on the written characters.
Honestly Ina curses herself, for not being more intent, when she learned kanji for her trip to Japan. And now she can’t barely read anything at all, because the letters are looking not just foreign, but alien.
The bookshelves are rowing the walls and even outlining in the middle, separating the room into three small sections. It’s not nearly enough to call it a library, like Ina’s uses to know from her own time, but it definitely amazes her.
She’s stopping at a table, which she brushes the dust off with the wipe. Placing the bucket at the corner, Ina turns to dust the nearest shelf as well, though the oddly sensation of the knowledge the archives are holding, is attracting her like magic and get the better of her.
Abandoning her good intentions of cleaning, Ina’s facing the nearest shelf. Some of the scrolls look pretty old, though most of the books don’t. Curiously Ina leans nearer so she could read the headlines on the spines, though she has huge problems deciphering them.
... You know what? When I’m about to spent my upcoming three months here, I could at least do something useful and learn something new. Didn’t Nobunaga say I could just spend my time in Azuchi, doing girly stuff??
Not sure if reading is that kind of girly stuff, Nobunaga was talking about, Ina's concentrating on reading the characters. She truly holds a big interest in the use of medicine in these time period. Even in her present day, the european medicine often implies alternative Chinese medicine as a support. What’s the difference between Japanese and Chinese medicine and their herbs, she wonders?
She just has to find the right section where she can find those books and then... well, maybe Rei will help her read them! So Ina hopes... Nonetheless Ina's determining sure in becoming better with reading, when she’ll try.
Looking over her shoulder to make sure she’s still alone, Ina’s taking a deep breath. With narrow eyes Ina reads slowly and aloud: “’Mental Honor’... ‘Fall of Hogan-Ji’,... ‘The Art of War’... - oh wait, I think I actually know this book!”
“Would you mind, being quiet?”
The sullen hiss that suddenly sounds from not that afar startles Ina nearly to death. An anxious meep slips through her lips while giving a jerk. Rapidly blinking Ina’s listening to the remaining silence bewildered. “Eh... Hello?” Unsure she asks. Ina was certain, that she had been alone! Yet someone noticed her poor reading!
Silence...
And a quiet grunt.
Slowly Ina reaches about two books before her and shoves them gently to the side. A peevish Ieyasu’s frowning annoyingly at her from the other side of the bookshelf.
Embarrassed, Ina is sheepishly gazing back at him. “What are you doing here?”
“What does it look like? Reading in silence.” was his curt answer.
“And why didn’t you just answer when I've entered? You have really startled me.” Shame’s  uncomfortably heating her head and Ina truly feels like an idiot. Though Ieyasu doesn’t seem to notice, while he's gazing tiredly back at her through the hole in the shelf. “I didn’t thought you’re actually going to stay.”
What kind of reason is that?
When Ina met Ieyasu the first time, she felt more like encountering a spikey raid boss with venom abilities:
Yesterday
Curiously Ina’s watching the other man, with bright, tousled hair. He’s smaller than Mitsunari and Mitsuhide. Though to be honest, being taller than Mitsuhide would be quite the challenge! Yet Ieyasu nearly seem to be petite, just looking at her with sharp green eyes.
Since Ina's the foreign here, she’s feeling the urge in doing the first step. It couldn’t hurt to be on good terms with the guys here, even if at least one of them is a shady tease. “Hello, my Name’s Ina. Nice to meet you.”
Ieyasu's inclining his head, slightly narrowing his eyes skeptically. “You don’t look as I imagined.” He says and leaves Ina quite puzzled. “Pardon, but what do you mean?”
“You look terribly pitiful.” Ieyasu bluntly retorts. Wow... that one quickly turns out to be a salty one... They've hardly talked, yet Ina got the feeling he doesn’t like her.
“How intent of you, Lord Ieyasu.” Mitsunari beams with a stunningly gentle smile and nods towards Ieyasu. “Lady Ina sure needs some rest after that long horse ride and the harsh night she’d just had. I guess a bath will also help her to ease.”
Ina always felt at calm, when she looks at Mitsunari’s calm and angelic smile since arriving in this era. Mitsunari’s by far the nicest person she’s ever met, even in her own time! But in this moment Mitsunari’s tender words and soft smile doesn’t seem to convince Ina. Glancing haltingly back at Ieyasu, as he grumpily rolls his eyes with a snort, confirms Ina in her assumption. Ieyasu wasn’t intent at all... He just was rude!
“Whatever.” Ieyasu says with an annoyingly heavy sigh and is glancing back at Ina. “You don’t need medical treatment, do you?” he asks.
After blinking confused about his sudden offer, Ina shakes her head. “No, thank you. I’m fine, just a little bit tired.”
“Good.” Ieyasu nods and is walking away without another word. Ina carefully follows his steps with her grey blue eyes.
“Lord Ieyasu is also a vessal of Lord Nobunaga. And I can quite tell that he likes you.” Mitsunari’s smiling warmly at Ina, while she peers at him doubtfully. “Uhm sure... If you say so.” Ina surely wasn’t sure though.
Still looking at Ieyasu, Ina’s wondering if he has another of his bad moods. By the looks of him, he’s not in a good mood by any means. “Will you stop staring at me?” Ieyasu brusque retorts and pulls Ina out of her thoughts. “It’s hard to concentrate.”
“Ahm I-... Sorry Ieyasu.” Ina quickly says and is bashfully tousling her hair. “I... was looking for a book earlier to read.”
“That stammering didn’t sound like you could read at all.”
Ina’s opening her mouth in attempt to defend herself. But she couldn't tell him, that she’s used to read in another language with different alphabetic characters! Nonetheless she is able to read at all!
Okay Ina, be nice to him. Maybe he’ll understand.
“I-- err... am not used to it. Reading I mean. But I like to study.”
“Are you an idiot?” Ieyasu scoffs monotonously. “How can you study if you’re not able to read?”
Ina’s face darkens a tiny bit, gritting her teeth. Because of Sasuke she can’t tell him the truth and it might be better that way. So she’s avoiding strange questions or worse the dungeons, because when she's not declaired crazy she might would be claimed a spy. With a silent sigh Ina’s rounding the shelf to face Ieyasu. He’s sitting by an table with a pile of books. Next to him a brush, ink stone and blank papers. “Even if I’m not a good reader, I’m willing to lean it. I just like to learn.”
Not having the barrier of a shelf between them any longer, Ieyasu’s dropping his gaze to his books. “Then do it muted and elsewhere. You’re interrupting my studies.”
Puzzled Ina’s blinking a few times, while Ieyasu does his best to intent she’s not even here anymore. “Excuse me. I guess I’m confused. I thought you warlords don’t study anything else then strategy or warfare.”
Ieyasu’s peering coldly at her. The unspoken question ‘Are you an idiot?’ clear written in his annoyed face. A sudden rush of embarrassment is rushing Ina's face again, because of her own flawing logic. The sudden time travel thing might was really too much for her. Apologetically Ina raises her hands. “I am sorry. I spoke out of mind.”
“Stop chitchatting. It’s one-sided.” Ieyasu snarls, still piercing Ina with his sharp green eyes, and is sending an enormous wave of aversion towards her, before continuing writing with a brush.
... be nice to him, Ina. He doesn’t understand. But how could he possibly understand?
Ina can’t blame him. Her attitude must be awkward for him. She should be a normal girl from a village that’s not pointed on any map. Without Rei she feels so lonely and lost in this role though. For Rei it's easier pretending to be someone else. She's fitting for acting. Meanwhile Ina’s feeling like stumbling from one puddle to another.
With the attempt of apologizing, Ina’s bowing her head, when she caught sight of an open book on the table. She knows the drawing from her earlier times, when she was in nursing school. It was short theme back then. It shows with dots the spots of particular nerves which could be stimulate to relieve pain. “Oh, is this... about medical practices?”
Ieyasu almost leans back overly hurried, when Ina’s leaning eagerly forth to get a closer look of the page. Knitting his brows, he snorts “And if it is?”
“I--...” Ina’s quick thinking of a way to explain it to him that wouldn’t sound too awkward. For she can’t tell him, that she’s a nurse either. Propably he wouldn’t even know what a nurse is. Sheepishly she smiles: “Sometimes I helped the medics in my hometown.”
Pointing on the drawing with the nerve between thumb and index finger, Ina continues: “When you stimulate this nerve with pressure or a needle, you effectuate some linking to heal headache. But mostly headache comes off when you drink too less. Also you might try to bind fresh peppermint in a wet towel and place it your nape, because of the--”
Before Ina finishes her word, she’s stopping, facing the blankly looking Ieyasu. He even looks a little surprised in the flicker of the lanterns. “You know... western techniques?” He’s asking perplexing sincere.
Ina knows, that she’d spoken too much, that is why, she’s awkwardly tousling her hair again: “Ah I- no. Not really I just know a little about bit. You know my village lays really behind of the mountains.”
Ieyasu’s staring at Ina with puckered brows. Though after a while, he scoffs and draws his book from her. “I thought so.”
Slightly frustrated Ina’s clenching her hands under the table. Ieyasu had called her pitiful before. And a waif at the council. But it would be way too suspicious, if she would offer him to explain some medicine practices she knows from her time. Medicine no one in this time would ever believe will exist someday! For a short moment Ina has thought, that might be a thing they could share. That Ieyasu might be a little nicer to her, if she’ll show her interest. Still Ina’s determined to learn something about the traditional eastern medicine. “Hey? Maybe you could teach me a little, Ieyasu?” Ina’s asking with a consolidative smile.
Raising his head, Ieyasu’s staring at Ina intensly: “No.” and declines quickly.
Shot down in an instand. Encounter Boss is reaching the enrage timer!
“I understand.” Ina slowly nods. “You have important things to do and I’m robbing your spare time you have, huh?”
Ieyasu doesn’t answer, but he doesn’t even have to. According to Rei, he’s the one who will unify Japan. Technically speaking he’ll finish, where Nobunaga and Hideyoshi failed. But in this time as well? Even when Nobunaga's still alive? Again Ina fears for the trouble she and Rei have already caused in messing with the time. “I’m sorry for disturbing you. I’ll leave you to your studies then. Though do you mind helping me to find a book about local herbs? I guess that’ll be a good start for me.”
Ieyasu, understandable deeply annoyed in the meantime, is frowning at Ina. “No. Go find it on your own.”
Knitting her brows Ina’s looking questioning at Ieyasu. Peevishly he's mirroring her.
... You are just rude again! You know what? I don’t need to play nice, when you’re not even trying!
“Fine.” Ina’s saying provocatively loud, while standing up. “I shall go and find my them on my own then.” Sassily she’s emphasising every syllable and faces the books in the shelf next to her. With ostentation she’s pointing a finger on the spines of the books and reads loudly with her utterly bad reading skills: “‘Forged in Iron’..., ‘Forming Armor’,... ‘Art of Forging’... Huh, I might be in the wrong section here.”
“... Stop.”
Ieyasu jumps onto his heels, grumpily snorting as he passes Ina. He walkes determined right to a shelf on the wall and is directly dragging three books out of it. He spins around and is pressing them into Ina’s arms. Dumbfounded she’s catching them. “Thank-...”
“Sod off!”
With his hand on her back Ieyasu’s pushing Ina through the archives and shoves her out. Ina nearly stumbles over her feet into the hallways, the books bedded against her chest. She turns to face Ieyasu, but he has already closed the doors.
I got kicked out...! Well... I guess I deserve this. At least now Ieyasu has a reason for hating me.
Ina sighs in frustration, glancing down to the books she’s still holding in her arms.
‘Plants and Herbs’, ‘Medical Plants’, ‘Poisons and Antidotes’.
Ina’s nibbling her lip, when she silently reads the headlines of the books Ieyasu has shoved towards her. Well at least he did help her. After she has practically annoyed him into exhaustion, that is.
I’ve never felt so guilty in my life before...
A part of Ina thinks that it was okay, because Ieyasu owes her one for his utterly grumpy attitude towards her. An eye for an eye. But another part of her hopes that she could make it up to him soon. She doesn’t want to be on bad terms with anyone here.
Bedding the books against her chest again, Ina’s walking back the hallways to her room. From the open veranda she’s glancing over the gardens, whereas the sun sinks, immersing the sky brightly in orange and red colors.

IkeSen Masamune Analysis #5
I haven’t written one of those in a while. Who knows, maybe I’ll get inspired to put more posts like this together - although I’m not sure if “analysis” wasn’t too big of a word when I picked it. Oh well. It happened already, I presume? So let’s continue onward with that, even if it was a mistake.
1st part: the trauma & the grief
2nd part:  discovering the new meaning to love & getting in touch with himself
3rd part: the pathos of the dramatic route
4th part: future customs & how modern their relationship is (by future standards)
#5: Flaws
It oftentimes seems to me that flaws of character tend to be overlooked on behalf of the great qualities somebody has. After all, why focus on the ugly if beauty is one step away?
Well. My personal opinion is that by doing that, a character is stripped of its complexity and ultimately loses some of its appeal, the flaws being one of the major factors contributing to their overall believability. They make them relatable, are a point of struggle, bring realness into fantasy - so honestly, personally, I lean towards enjoying imperfections.
As such, let’s look at some of Masamune’s flaws and perhaps wonder how some of them affect him. As always, it’s just my perspective on the matter. So please, if it makes you angry - take a step back. You don’t have to agree with me on that one. It’s okay.
Probably the most obvious one would be his lies - because for a honest and direct person, Masamune lies a lot, even though mostly to himself. He lies to people close to him, consequently keeping them at an arm distance, never allowing for anything possibly presenting his weakness spread to the world. He doesn’t allow himself to hurt - he must be strong. At all cost, every time and every where, and he must always push forward. That by itself, of course, is draining. Perhaps he doesn’t even consider those half-truths and white lies to be dishonest in any way? Does it influence him? It does. It was shown how scared he can be when the one person he has found courage to be vulnerable with could be taken away. It’s one of the factors driving his rather risky choices, it tires him out physically, makes it harder for him to form deeper emotional connections. Generally, I presume it would suffice to say that Masamune isn’t used to somebody taking care of him.
Similarly to the above, Masamune is merciless towards himself. I wouldn’t say he’s addicted to work, but he certainly values it more than himself and his own well-being. He works late hours, is always in the centere of the battle, is willing to accept new responsibilities despite the workload (for example: his route - taking over the impoverished territory and redistributing rice to feed people struck by hunger)... As mentioned in his eternal love route epilogue, Masamune always strove to be deserving of praise, under all conditions. However, is that humanely possible? No. People make errors - and that is okay. It doesn’t come easy for him to accept that. (For example: an event in which he and MC were tasked with finding out a culprit threatening lord Nobunaga - I believe Mitsuhide was also in the group, however, it was only our pair that visited the inn. Due to a mistake on his part, MC was almost stabbed. Almost, as Masamune stopped the knife in time. As it was shown later, he didn’t take it well, distancing himself from her and spending the night training; Does it happen outside events? Yes. It can show in many ways, but one of them would be the fact that he doesn’t like discussing his past self and his weakness from that time. He also hides tears, for very long even from the woman he fell in love with).
He’s not fluent in emotion and his entire route is lined with him discovering that the thing he feels is love (more on that in 2nd part of the analysis, linked above). He undergoes tremendous character development.
There’s also another facet to it - despite being technically a character that’s all  about this “fun”, he’s disciplining himself strictly. He’s always holding himself back, pushing away all the needs and desires that interfere with who he thinks he should be. And what can interfere with it? Anything that lasts. Because for all he knows, there may be no tomorrow. Masamune doesn’t allow himself any stability.
Now, those were more of character traits. However, there’s more to Masamune that could potentially be seen as “damaged”.
This may be debatable, however, I do think that one of the reasons behind his lifestyle (not that it’s the only reason and that he doesn’t enjoy it. Only that it’s a thing that could possibly magnify it) is... Well. He tells himself he is ready to die, but for a man that made his peace with death, he clings desperately to anything good about life.
Now, I don’t doubt his motivation. I believe that if a time came and it was necessary, he would sacrifice himself without a doubt. He would live his life as to be a perfect leader, no matter the cost. But since he doesn’t know when the time will come and since he doesn’t want to regret anything, he doesn’t allow himself to live slowly. It must be fast - it may be over before it fully began.
I don’t consider this by itself to be a flaw. I think a part of him enjoys it. However, I presume that this ongoing intensity combined with little close connections (remember, he’s still a lord to his vassals) can be draining at times, almost desperate.
I’ve already talked about the trauma related to killing his father. However, I think that another traumatic event overlooked in his case is the loss of his eye - and I do dare to say that it was really bad by itself as well.
And I don’t mean just pain. Well. I’m chronically ill and I don’t think I would lie much if I said that being forced to alter your routine is really hard at first. I don’t think that it would be a lie to state that losing a part of functionality of your body can be traumatic by itself as well.
So, he lost sight in his eye first. As such, he was seen as a nuisance by his family - he was hated and this hatred was internalized. For a child to wish they were never born...? It hurts. It hurts a lot, much more when it’s the people, who should protect you, who hurt you like so. He was “defective”.
Now. He decided to take it out. To just get rid of it, to cut it out of himself, to let it be part of the past. He didn’t need to, but he did. Possibly because this eye was a part of his weakness and that he couldn’t have. And this time, it must have hurt again, this time physically.
And by the end of it? He was left with a scar on his face, another reminder of his own perceived imperfection, reminder of a flaw. The all-so-confident Masamune doesn’t generally show it to people - when they fall into the lake and he needs to take off his eyepatch, he tells MC it’s okay to look away. She doesn’t even have a chance to think about it, and he already tells her it’s not a pretty sight. Despite all the temporary lovers he had, there was never any other person before MC who he allowed to touch his scar.
Now, why to even mention all of that? Aren’t there enough positive qualities that I could talk about instead?
But even that all aside - isn’t all in the past? I don’t think so. In moments where he gets pulled away from the reality, Masamune still reaches for his missing eye and instinctively covers it with his hand.
____________________
Well, sure. Let me put it like so:
With this everything, he could have easily caved in. He could turn to pure egoism, he could fund his own whims and be a medicore ruler. He could be selfish.
But, at the end of the day, he chose for his goal to be to allow people to have a future in which they don’t have to go hungry. Where they don’t have to struggle to have this basic need met, as it wasn’t so obvious then.
Because he cares about others so much.
I don’t think this really shines through with his flaws being ignored. And sure, plenty of that stuff needs to be worked through. But... It is only that despite this struggle, he still retained his heart - and as we’ve been informed in his eternal route epilgoue, he was a really sensitive and empathetic child.

Wondering if I could request some reactionary Headcanons for the warlords where MC is a highly trained and skillful forensic scientist?
I’m so sorry this is waaaay overdue and writing-wise is still unsure of the style... I hope this one’s okay though~ TnT
p.s. I tried adding Kennyo & Motonari too, but brain won’t let me ><
p.s.s. Updated masterlist for my random shenanigans here!
*Every one of them thought MC would be scared of a dead body and multitudes of it on the battlefield and beyond it but...
ODA FORCES
Nobunaga
- “Huh, this fireball’s not afraid of the dead?” // “I examine them for a living.” Visibly impressed, a devilish smirk forms on his lips
- The Devil King is fascinated by you actively asking to take her to battles to study the bodies
- “Look at this! With that deep slice on his jugular vein, no wonder he’ll die pretty quickly due to all that blood loss.” // “On his what?” // “T-the blood vessel found on the neck, my lord.” // *is confused*
- Nobunaga considers this carefully and commissions the armour makers to improve their designs, and/or trade for more sturdy materials with the Portuguese (you know… aside trading for konpeito :3)
- Lets you examine more specimens to determine all possible deaths in battle, and then have it discussed at the next council. It’s a great help for them in terms of preparation & strategizing. After all, prevention and preparation is still much better!
Hideyoshi
- A worried mother hen as always, all he wanted is for you to stay away from the worst sights possible and definitely not going straight towards them! “What do I keep telling you?” // “Uh, stay away from the corpses…?”
- Just like how his lord would sneak away to have konpeito, you also tend to get around stealthily just to study “them”
- Being a highly observation person due to your work, you even know which wooden floor in Azuchi will make a creaking sound and by instinct you will avoid it
- But Mamayoshi is just as observant as you are, and he caught you one night
- “I know you were once this ‘forensic expert’ from where you came from, but you are a princess now and must behave like one!” Legend has it that the lecture continues...
Mitsuhide
- Ah, he loves asking for your suggestions on how to get away with murder treason!
- I mean, he’s surely an expert but an additional piece of advice his little mouse wouldn’t hurt, right?
- “This place’s almost clean, I’d say.” // “’Almost’, little mouse? It scares me so that you have trained eyes for such matters. // “Is that a compliment? Anyway, I saw a strand of hair near the sliding door... and its color is much similar to yours. Care to explain?”
- Now he’s more careful than ever to leave any trace, knowing you can find him even with the smallest of clues
- The tables have turned for him after such a long time of being a sneaky fox
Masamune
- Oh boy, make sure you won’t overwork yourself by being with this man, being a battle-loving man that he is (meaning, more bodies and scenes to check out)
- At the same time, he finds it amusing that you proactively ask him to take you to his trips, campaigns and whatnots
- “It really is fun having you around, lass! Or should I say ‘partner’?” // “Damn straight, partner… now, let’s solve this case!” Cat-like grin commences for you two
- He sees you having fun hanging out at the scouts’ camp, chatting about experiences in the battlefield. your eyes would glimmer the more explicit they describe it. Creepy? Maybe a little, but at least he sees you happy about it… right?
- The One-Eyed Dragon will find this unusual, sure, but it certainly makes him want to know you more
Ieyasu
- Did he care at first? No, not really. He just wanted no involvement at first and to be left on his room alone, reading or eating extra-spicy food
- However, Yatsun gets curious when he finds you taking a peek at his medicinal work on a man he is a bit late to save :(
- “What are you doing here? You better not get in the way.” // “Oh no, poor man though… what’s the cause?” // “I am yet to find that out, if you’ll excuse me,---” // “Can I take a look?”
- He tries to pry you away from the room but being already in and touching the body leaves him no choice but to keep a close eye on you, making sure you’re not doing anything daft.
- “Huh, not bad.” Ieyasu says as you were able to identify the cause of death, deep inside he’s amazed of course. Later on he would let you join him in his post-mortem activities if the schedule allows to, but still keeping an eye on you to prevent any mishaps from happening
Mitsunari
- “Wow, MC-sama is unfazed as we all are in the battlefield! You truly are an amazing woman.” Did you see that sunny smile on his face as he says it???
- Your logical explanation as to identifying one’s death baffles the force’s cinnamon roll (because of the jargon used), otherwise it fascinates him
- Well, he’s never seen a woman who’s into dead bodies work-wise!
- Like some other warlords, he would ask you for advice when making strategies for the next battle
- When you went to his room one time to borrow a book, the first thing you said was “Am I in a crime scene?” when seeing piles of books around, untouched food and seeing a man unmoved in the middle of the room, reading and not even sensing your presence. “Ah no, just a normal room. I see.”
Ranmaru
- While in an errand, he sees you one day looking at a dead body about to be taken away. He is worried that the view might traumatize you for life… in the back of his mind he already has a plan to take you to a sweets shop and let you gorge in manjuu for the rest of the day
- “MC-sama, are you alright? You look shocked.” // “Yeah, I mean it looks to me that someone killed him when everybody says the opposite! I wanted to look into this so badly…” // “My apologies, but… what?”
- Of course it is never the answer he expected, but when you plead to help him solve it, this page is more than willing to do so
- Now both of you are going around the town looking for clues and asking who you think are involved; partners-in-crime!
- You did get to gorge on manjuu (and tea, lots of it) with Ranmaru when the case is solved!
UESUGI-TAKEDA FORCES
Kenshin
- Oh boy, make sure you won’t overwork yourself by being with this man, being a battle-loving man that he is pt.2
- “How dare you try to even speak with MC; draw your swords. Now.” // “Kenshin-sama, even if I’m used to seeing the deceased, please don’t do that. You’re scaring your own men!”
- He has little to no problem in taking her along to the battlefield, too! One more way to keep her in sight at all times
- Sometimes when you two are drinking and think he had too much you just had to stop him, to his slight annoyance. You have seen many deaths due to alcohol poisoning and definitely wouldn’t want him to be in the list… Bunshin Lord Kenshin appreciates the thought though
- Like Nobunaga, he allows you to do some research on the dead bodies, anything useful for the ongoing war
Shingen
- How can an angel such as you be associated with death and decay? He thinks
- But this daddy needs to accept the fact that you are quite comfortable around such! However once your investigation takes a scary turn expect him to nearby, comforting you with soothing words, or a hug… or eating sweet buns as many as you’d like to calm yourself down
- At first he is reluctant to let you get near the deceased, however whenever he sees your expression light up whenever he makes a cheesy comment (albeit in a rather awkward place) he thought of going along with it
- “Hm, this job of yours is unfitting in every way.” // “Oh yeah? How so?” // “You are brimming with life that I do think you are a goddess who descended upon us men.” // “Ah, here we go again…”
- You have to admit, his presence help you keep your sanity as you used to work alone for long periods of time
Yukimura
- “I thought you might be running away now once you see these.” // “As if they’ll chase me! Unless… are they still alive?” // “Weird woman…”
- This tsun does admire how brave you are after even making such joke
- Along with Sasuke, you three are pretty much effective when doing some investigation at the enemy’s base with you giving them (modern) tips of not getting caught. Unusual hiding spots? Hidden weapons? Suspicious people? All checked and cleared!
- He has been doing that for a long while now, but hearing your strange ideas do sound plausible… especially when ninja friend is highly approving it
- If Sasuke trusts you, he surely starts to trust you (and your skills) too
Sasuke
- Once again, be paired up with Yuki and you three would make a great investigation/espionage team
- When investigating, you and memelord ninja are speaking to each other in partly jargon, partly heavily-memed language
- Possibly having watched and/or read crimes shows or movie you two are getting along so well
- “So here’s our undercover story: husband, wife and husband’s best friend---” // “Wait, do we get cool names too?!” // “Yeah, I’ll get to that part later… or I’ll do it now. Miyako, Tsune and Chozaburo; sounds cool?” // “Noice.”
- As the conversation continues, Yuki is left by himself to wonder how on earth did he get friends like you, shaking his head lightly as your talk no longer makes sense to him
Yoshimoto
- This beautiful mailman sees you one day sketching and as a man of the arts he comes over to look at what you’re drawing
- What he sees is a detailed sketch of a man, possibly a random person. The facial structure, features are all spot on! He is in full admiration mode
- “My, such a lovely piece you are making there. Has someone commissioned you to make him a portrait?” // “Actually Yoshimoto-san, I am making this to be posted around town. A wanted poster of some sorts… he’s a criminal.”
- You explained to him your job as a forensic artist, and he listens to every single word of it. Yoshimoto would find himself asking about your style of sketching as you continue drawing
- When the posters are up he is one of those people who would look at it for a long time; for him it’s not for memorizing the perp’s face, but simply to appreciate the art, fanning himself ever so gracefully

Hello! Sorry about the slowness of your blog, so here’s a request! How MC that can do Magic Tricks? Not Harry Houdini, but card tricks and making a coin“disappear”. Can you please do this with the Oda forces? Thank you!
ok so like,, idk what’s considered “harry houdini” magic and what’s not (from what i understand it’s illusion/escape magic [although that’d be a cool hc] so wow my ‘cut assistant in half’ idea is out the window..,,.,,. and i’m not sure if some of these are considered illusion magic or not). and also i don’t know enough about magic tricks at all and i just picked some mainstream ones and like,,,... one (1) trick that my brother could do. also i don’t have too much knowledge of how some of them work,, but here ya go:
—nobunaga:
the moment nobunaga told you to bring proof of you being from the future, of course your first thought was to get your purse. tipping the bottom up, all of its content spilled on the floor.
and while the lord was observing your phone, your own eyes landed on the card deck you brought from your last magic show. with a small grin, you picked it up, “hey nobunaga, instead of that go game let me show you something.”
he turned to you with an expectant gaze, “as long as it’s as entertaining, lucky charm.”
your grin widened, and the cards were shuffled expertly in your hands. pushing the rest of the items aside, you spread them out in front of nobunaga in a row, “pick a card, any card.”
his brows lifted at your request, but does it anyway. he pulls out one from the middle; a king of spades. “alright, now don’t show me it.” he’s a bit confused as to what you’re going to do, but he’s also intrigued. you pat the floor, gesturing him to set the card down whilst hiding it, and he does.
you tell him to pick a section to hide it in, and he picks the one near the end. the deck is shuffled again entirely, and you lay it down on the floor facing up.
“now,” you say, and nobunaga finds himself leaning closer to you, “i’ll try and pick your card out.”
he watches as your eyes sweep through each card, before pulling out a king of spades. his card.
“is this your card, ‘my lord’?”
he’s stone faced at first, then a small twinkle sparks in his eyes, “perhaps you’ll be much more entertaining that i thought. show me more, fireball.”
and now, between the ruthless games of go, you often show him the tricks you’ve learnt. it brings a sort of boyish excitement to him, and he really reminds you of your own audience.
and sometimes, he teases about you being a goddess of trickery, fishing his heart to be yours.
it’s quite adorable, to see the devil king be like that.
—hideyoshi:
the unknown and general foreign atmosphere from the castle was something you couldn’t bear most of the time. the distrust from hideyoshi, the rough personalities that were wildly different from your time—there was a limit until your soul had to take a rest.
and your escape was to the town. you were a magician, someone who entertained others. and you sure as hell weren’t going to perform for the castle! so you went to the common folks.
your bright and extroverted attitude quickly spread among mostly the youths; kids would often surround you with their hyper-energized excitement, and you’d get along nicely! you’ve started performing too, at the fields where the children play.
so each day, you’d come down from the castle with a new trick to show the kids. it’s a nice change of pace from the war.
meanwhile, hideyoshi was still very doubtful of you, and between what free time he had, you’d be gone from the castle.
however one day, he managed to trail along from a free day (one forcefully given by nobunaga). seeing you carry some suspicious items wrapped in cloth downtown didn’t settle right with him, so he hid in the shadows as you approached the main streets, and onto the place you usually perform at.
he sees you setting up some things on a table, said things still covered in cloth. a girl approaches you shyly, and you smile brightly at her. crouching down, the two of you began talking about something he couldn’t hear. and after a nod from the girl, she seemed to,,, hand you something.
uh oh, his alert is up! his hand mindlessly gripped his sword as you carried the bundle of unknown things and bellow the table. finally, it’s showtime.
more and more kids ran to your table, shouting excitedly about, “the azuchi magician is performing!”
and that couldn’t help but melt his heart, just a bit.
you were in a black and white kimono (a substitue for a tuxedo) and a hat he never seen anyone wear (top hat). he watches silently as you act out a silent performance, showing the insides of your hat empty. you pull out a black wand with a white tip (a weapon?! he thought) and tapped the hat three times. suddenly...
a rabbit jumped out! not only were the kids surprised, hideyoshi himself was gaping slightly too. were you some sort of enchanter?
as the show was over, the crowd dispersed. the white rabbit sat on the table being happily petted by you. a girl approaches you again—it’s the same as before.
you smile at her and gave a gentle pat on the head, “thank you for lending me your rabbit, tomoka! you really did help me with this one, y’know?”
the girl, tomoka, he noted, blushed lightly. “n-no. . .thanks for the performance, azuchi magician,,!”
the way you smiled, so earnestly like that to the common folk and treating them normally. . . maybe hideyoshi could start trusting you.
—mitsuhide:
most of your props were in your bag, and it was starting to cram the space inside it. so you sprinkled it around your room—it was the closest you had to decoration of your own. but it proved to be quite,,,, troublesome, so to say, for it to just lie around.
and you learnt such when you came to mitsuhide’s manor (as per his request) and finding him with all your things. all.
“so,” he began, and you fell the cold sweat creeping in, “it seems our little mouse is rather. . . noxious.”
“,,,, i can explain.”
“i’d love to hear why you have such peculiar items at your possession.” there was a smile on his face,,, but it felt like there wasn’t. you explained your future situation, and he listened in silence.
he hummed, and questioned each item you had, and you answered the best you can. most of it related to your profession, he noticed. but there was just one thing. . .
“then tell me,” he pulls out a sword, and your temperature drops a thousand degrees, “why do you have this?”
“ ,,,, i͟ c͟a͟n͟ e͟x͟p͟l͟a͟i͟n͟.”
you held the sword in your hands, all the while glancing up at the other every milisecond to see if your life wasn’t in danger. and with a burst of unknown confidence, you pulled the tip of the blade to your mouth, and proceeded to insert it deeper and deeper.
you couldn’t see mitsuhide’s reaction—you didn’t want to—as the sword got “deeper” into your throat. by the time you’re finished, if it were real, it would’ve ended by your stomach.
and slowly, you pulled it out, with a pathetic addition of, “it’s a magic trick thing too.”
your eyes absolutely refused to meet his, just opting to burn its stare into the ground. mitsuhide smirked. his suspicion was definitely there—but the innocent way you did that was just so cute.
“i’m beginning to wonder what your intentions are, shoving such a thing deep into your mouth in front of a man, in his quarters, little mouse.”
—masamune:
ever since masamune found out about your previous occupation, he’s always begged you to show them off (the more dangerous, the better). most of the time, you’ll cave in and do a really popular trick known in the community, then tell him off for a bit. it’s all in good fun, really.
but now both of you were bored, and you knew from experience in the case of the one-eyed dragon being bored, the time will only come before he wrecks absolute shit again just for the hell of it.
so you want to post-pone that, at least.
you pulled out three ceramic cups and a small gold coin, setting them on the table. his eyes were on you now, “what’re ya doin’, lass?”
you smiled with a tint of mischief, “how about we play a game?” at the mere mention of that got him to sit up with a wild grin of his own, “loser has to do what the winner says. anything they say.”
considering it’s masamune, you potentially had a lot on the line. but you were experienced enough—hopefully.
you explained the simple rules to him: you’ll put the coin underneath one of the cups, shuffle it, then he has to guess which one has it. easy peasy.
usually you’d do it slower or quicker, but again, it’s masamune. maybe he can slip a sight of what you did and if you lose, it’ll be a tiresome rest of the day.
your hands moved swiftly and expertly, shuffling between the three cups. and his eyes were trained on them like a tiger to its prey. and in the midst of all the sliding around, you passed the coin from one cup to another.
and once you were done, you set the three ceramic pieces in a row.
“pick, masa.”
his eyes were certain, full of confidence, as he pointed at the left one. a grin ripped its way to your face, when it’s revealed there’s nothing there.
his good eye widened a bit, before narrowing down in slight thrill. “ya really are a witch, lass.”
—ieyasu:
ieyasu wasn’t as expressive about his love in the public sometimes. he’d use an indirect and often contrarian way to do so—just like he did the first few times you met. and you yourself loved to give him little bouts of affection, mostly through words and the likes.
that day was a hot one, with the two of you just lazing about in his manor. you had your deck of cards on you, just shuffling them around mindlessly. as your mind wandered, you stopped as an idea surfaced.
with a small smile, you went out from the room ieyasu was in, just to write something on a card, and so he wouldn’t see. once you came back, he directed a raised eyebrow at you.
“hey ieyasu,” you call out to him casually, picking out a card from your deck. an ace of hearts, between your fingers and facing him, “wanna see some magic?”
his eyebrow rose higher, and you flip around the card between your fingers smoothly. his gaze trailed over each time you threw it up in the air, twisting your hand in mostly useless moves, and suddenly—
the card was gone from your hands. just like that.
for a moment, he was rendered speechless. the sight was adorable, really; his lips slightly parted and eyes widened just a crack.
the smile grew from your face, and just like before, you seem to materialize a card out of nowhere. without a chance to see it clearly, you put it in ieyasu’s hand facing down.
he flipped it. the ace of hearts, but on it were scribbled he words “i ♥ you"
“. . .you’re so silly, you know that?”
—mitsunari:
as a magician, certain props were set up for a specific trick. meaning they don’t work how it normally would; but such didn’t really bother you when your habit of shuffling cards while thinking came into effect.
but mitsunari, despite not noticing most things about other people, was highly observational. with a small smile, his attention turned from your lesson, the ones he taught you in, and unto the deck in your hands.
“yesterday the back of it was blue, and now it’s red. do you own several of these?”
you paused, looking up at his lilac eyes with a small grin, “yep. wanna know why?”
the way he tilted innocently was too much to take. so you opted to distract yourself by spreading every cards facing up on the table, “this is how a normal deck looks like, right?”
“yes, as i’ve seen from you before.”
the grin on you slowly widened as you got into your magician self, collecting the cards into a neat stack. you mimic casting a spell on it, swirling your hands above it as mitsunari stared at you, mistified.
once you were done, you spread the cards down again. one major difference stuck out: all the cards were now king of diamonds. every single one.
mitsunari let out a small gasp, picking out a random card and observing it from all angles. the way he looked so serious was a bit cute—you’ll admit.
only your giggle brought him back to reality. you collected the cards again, did the hand motions, and the deck was back to normal. aside from the king of diamonds left in his hand—which was the only one from the deck, coincidentally.
“—!” he calls your name with bouts of admiration, “you’re so miraculous! perhaps you’re a goddess blessed on us.”
you waved the accidental flattery he said, but a blush still got to your cheeks.
—ranmaru:
ranmaru was quite a childish one, you figure out soon. it doesn’t take talking with him long to see the way his eyes light with such innocent, child-like wonder. he reminds you a lot of the children you often performed for—the way he saw the world was so much alike to how their eyes filled with amazement each time you went on stage.
thus, it was soon when you invited him to your room with the intention of showing your skill off to him, just to get a feel of how it was like before you got dragged into the sengoku period.
you wanted to ease him in first, so you went with a small thing.
as the conversation of mostly random topics ran about, your fiddled and flipped a coin in your hand. his eyes would sometimes trail at how your fingers could balance such a small thing so quickly, quieting his voice by astonishment.
“ranmaru, wanna see something cool?” you quickly interjected the conversation. his nods were fast, eyes ripping away from the coin and to your own.
you threw the coin up in the air, occasionally balancing the small piece of gold with the tips of your fingers. one last throw, it lands in your palm, and you shut it swiftly. he’s watching closely, dazed by your minor performance.
you opened your palm; the coin’s gone.
“—eh?!” a surprised yelp escaped him, “where did it go. . .?”
ranmaru looked up to you for answers, and you just shrug casually with a tiny smile. your hands were taken in his, his own fingers flipping it around and even patting down the sleeves of your kimono to check if it fell down there. after no luck, his eyes roamed to the floor to see if you just threw it, somehow. nothing.
slowly, his head turned back to you, with eyes so filled with stars it could be a galaxy. “—! you’re a miracle! so cool, how’d you do that?!”
you’re right, he is like the kids you perform for.
“as they say,” all you answered was to put your index finger to your lips, and send him a wink, “a magician never reveals their secret~!”

I found this in chapter 56 and I thought it was kinda interesting. While Zen is comforting Shirayuki as she's crying, Mitsuhide says,"But this is about Zen and Shirayuki. I don't think this sudden distance is a big problem. It's not like being apart would cause their existence to become smaller in each other's lives." Maybe it's foreshadowing they will separate? What are your thoughts on this? Do you think ObiYuki still has a chance or is it just the author toying with us?
hi anon!!  ( ̄ω ̄)
Short answer:
Yes, Whoaboy get ready I have some THOUGHTS, YESS!! and No.
I have been sitting on this ask for a long time sorry for le wait
The vast majority of this post is below the cut. I hope it is not too much / addresses what you meant.
Here are some notes before I subject whoever reads this to my madness:
These little moments of “It’s okay to do what you want to do” always strike me, and I think about them when I’m considering Zen v Obi endgame because it opens up the possibility that things can change.
Yes it’s a shojo and shojo protagonists tend to stick with their initial love interest... blah blah blah. I don’t think this preconceived notion of how shojo manga ‘always goes’ is a valid point anymore.
So .... I think the comments we are both thinking of usually refer to Shirayuki’s Path and how she must be able to Stand By Zen’s Side as an Ally, etc. So I’ll kind of be thinking of this from the angle of a Journey.
Everything discussed is also after The Play We Believe is Foreshadowing (except for the panels pulled from ch 9 and 20) which I think should be considered for the context of the plot.
If it is actually foreshadowing for an eventual Obi & Shirayuki story arc -- which tbh we might be in the midst of (currently) at ch 117 without realizing it -- then it’s relevant to how we frame the comments made afterwards. At the end of the day, Akizuki-sensei is an author. She is telling us a story. I think it’s reasonable to seek out clues to foreshadowing in fictional stories. So I’m operating under a 90% certainty that the play is foreshadowing.
I have found that the best (fictional) stories are ones that have been planned carefully. I have no way of verifying if AnS has been so precisely crafted to weave in so much foreshadowing that we speculate over, but damn it sure feels like it was.
The manga was originally just the first chapter, so we can assume that after writing that chapter and deciding to make it into a series, there was some planning done.
ANyway............... strong speculation ahead. I think I was ~60% thorough in my search to find material relevant to Foreshadowing of a Separation.
Please enjoy!
1) So we’ll start with a panel from ch 9,
where Zen is considering his relationship with Shirayuki and his growing crush.
Tumblr media
This panel is, as stated above, part of the story that Akizuki expanded on after the original one-shot. In the first chapter, we get a lot of cute fate-chitchat between Zen and Shirayuki, but I think -- after deciding to continue the story -- Akizuki changed the tone to allow for more character development, and to challenge the Fate tropes often seen in romance.
Thus, the statement above from Zen that they may not always be together.
foreshadowing ?!   ( ˙▿˙ )
___________________________
2) In Chapter 28,
we have the crew essentially saying they are all growing stronger for the sake of each other, and lending their strength as needed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Within the story, Akizuki-sensei has established a theme of moving forward and changing as needed as a way to get stronger.
Mitsuhide says this to Shirayuki, also in Ch 28:
Tumblr media
Why .... does Mitsuhide look so serious as he says this to her? Is he reconciling the fact that Shirayuki and Zens paths may diverge at some point, as they do for the Lyrias arc?
He follows up the above statement with:
Tumblr media
He goes on to say,
“I want you to follow your heart so you can stand on your own wherever Zen takes you.”
So... maybe that context takes away some of the significance for fellow lovers of AnS. But I don’t think we should just ignore the statement.
I think she’s being given permission to change her mind; that it’s okay for her to have feelings for Zen, but it’s also okay if she chooses to end things. Mitsuhide will support her either way.
Even though the the full remark still has to do with Zen, she is being encouraged to stand on her own. She is her own person. She has friends who will still be there even if she chooses something different from what people expect of her.
In this case -- pertaining to AnS as a whole, from the perspective of everyone who ‘knows’ about ZenYuki in-story and also (meta!) the manga readers -- Shirayuki is expected to someday marry Zen.
After this, in Chapter 29, Izana is a bit derisive to Shirayuki after she gets the title from Tanbarun. I think his comments are intentionally made to make her uncomfortable. He says,
“Hahahaha! What an unusual title! Amazing!”
- cue confusion from Zen and Shirayuki -
“I wasn’t poking fun at it, it’s just a bit strange. Hmm... before, I said a nobody like her at your side would sully your name, Zen, but with this you can be friends without any such worry, right?
“Shirayuki, I’ve never asked what kind of relationship you want to have with Zen. And I don’t know if it’s something that can be said.”
Alrighty. So. Izana says in front of Shirayuki that he had described her as a nobody. This seems like something said meant to disquiet her, and her initial reaction is, “taken aback,” so we can safely say it was at least temporarily disconcerting for her to hear. I imagine it’s hurtful to hear you were once thought of as someone unworthy of notice.
Don’t get me wrong, I think most of what Izana says and does is in relatively good faith. I think the fandom has come to a general conclusion that he’s testing their relationship.
Obi finds her in the early morning and he notices that she’s upset, commenting that she’s making a strange face. She is still thinking about what Izana said, and Obi asks,
“Is it about the path you want to take?”
“....No. It’s that I haven’t given it any thought.”
Zen already wishes (though I don’t think he’s explicitly stated it the way he does later in ch 33) to marry Shirayuki, and we see her here facing emotional turmoil because that part of her future isn’t something she has thought about yet. Interesting, to say the least.
Tumblr media
I’m not really sure about this, but it seems like she either means where Zen is taking her and / or where she can stand on her own.
And then .......
“Obi, will you lend me a hand?”
“Didn’t I tell you before that I’ll take you wherever you want to go?”
This part of the story is still heavy ZenYuki, but I think Obi saying this to her right now is significant. Akizuki has repeatedly weaved Shirayuki’s path into the themes of the story so far, while contrasting that Zen will meet her at her destination, while Obi will be at her side for the journey.
Zen and Shirayuki meet and talk. They basically address that Shirayuki doesn’t really know what the future holds, but that she still wants to stand by his side, and says that even though he’s a prince she wants to think it’s okay for her to feel that way.
You almost forget about the significance of Obi and Shirayuki’s relationship when it’s followed up by this ZenYuki scene. I wonder about the aforementioned nature-of-planning involved in the story and the future of the characters at this point.
gnah how did this post get so long already

3) Zen has presumably given his blessing for Obi to be happy in love
In chapter 31, while the group is stranded outside Wistal due to rain, Zen and Obi are in the bath talking about the possibility of Kiki and Mitsuhide getting married.
“It’s fine with me as long as they can say that they’re happy. I intend to make sure of that.”
“You’ll make sure of that?”
“The same applies to you too, Obi.”
More foreshadowing? Presently it seems that the MitsuKiki ship has sunk, so contrasting this conversation to current-manga-events is titillating to me. ESPECIALLY because Zen says that he wants to make sure Obi is happy when Zen knows how Obi feels about Shirayuki. So it’s established that they will support one another as friends.
Later, Kiki and Mitsuhide are talking after dinner and discuss how the nature of Zen and Shirauki’s friendship never changes (that’s the impression I got from it). Mitsuhide recalls when he and Zen talked about the same thing:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think what Kiki and Mitsuhide are referring to is that Zen and Shirayuki have made a conscious effort to become friends despite the barriers they’ve encountered so far, by way of them showing the strength of their mutual respect and desire to aid one another. I get a similar feel from the conversation between Zen and Mitsuhide.
And then .....
“The two of us will always be friends.”
ahem
Zen saying this -- in context to everything from the past four chapters -- implies that Zen is okay if their relationship is not romantic. If it is true that the mangas plot was deliberately planned out, these chapters will become increasingly interesting to look back on as the plot progresses.
The direction of the story has changed since then if we are only looking at the big turning point of Mitsuhide rejecting Kiki.
And despite that rejection, the group is still a group despite their physical distance.
___________________________
Brief note to say that in Ch 33 Izana says to Zen,
“Let me be an ally as you and Shirayuki follow your own path.”
While this is a ZenYuki comment, I see it as Akizuki reinforcing that each character is following their own path and they will be supported as they do.
___________________________
3.5) After this point is the first Lyrias arc,
where obiyuki shippers are starting to salivate over how much is packed in just for their relationship. I mean .... remember when she pushed him to the ground because she thought he would get hit by snow? And he gives her those moony eyes just like it didn’t stop ... my heart
UGH JUST SAYING IT BECAUSE context! Shirayuki’s path is changing slowly, and Obi is still by her side.
___________________________
4) A period of transition
I think this is around the time the Bergatt arc is actually beginning, leading up even to current-manga-events.
In Chapter 53
And thus, they head towards the path that a new wind blows upon.
The times are changing.
While Shirayuki is preparing for her and Ryuu’s move to Lyrias, Zen and co. are at Wilant meeting with Haruto, who describes fools aiming to throw the country into turmoil. This is a seed for the plot that develops, ie, the Bergatt arc that was not actually resolved when Touka gets taken down at Sereg in ch (?) 86. I bring this up because I think it shows the level of planning that Akizuki has put into the story at this point.
In chapter 55, after Shirayuki has finally been able to tell Zen she’ll be away from Wistal for 2 years, and they have this conversation (slightly paraphrased) after he’s processed for a short time:
Zen -
“Sorry. The fact that you would be leaving the castle was something that I’d never considered. So my reaction was a little slow.
“I’ll hear it. I’m sure there was more you wanted to say.”
Shirayuki -
“I’m really glad that I got to meet you and come to the castle! I’m where I am now because I wanted to become Zen’s ally; and i achieved that by coming to the castle and becoming a royal pharmacist.
“I’m sure that, like how it’s always been, there’s something ahead connecting to my path now. That’s why, because there’s a place I have yet to go, I want to be there.”
This is Zen’s face after she says the above:
Tumblr media
What is he thinking? Is he worried about their romantic relationship? I interpret it as preemptive disappointment that they may not stay together.
Shortly after we get to the point you made in your ask (sweet anon) re ch 56 with Mitsuhides comment. This adds to the reinforced theme that change is okay and they will all still be friends and allies regardless of where life takes them.
BUT IMMEDIATELY AFTER Mitsuhide says that in reference to Zen and Shirayuki, Obi responds:
Tumblr media
Is Akizuki drawing a parallel between MitsuKiki and ZenYuki? No idea. maybe. But somehow I do not find it coincidental.
This seems like a MitsuKiki hint, meant to fuel the ultra-shippable pair that we all loved... but after the rejected proposal, it’s hard not to see the whole situation differently re: zenyuki / obiyuki and mitsukiki / hisakiki.
Then the first true ObiYuki hug, and this:
“It feels as though Obi might suddenly appear in Lyrias!”
girl you already knew. Shirayuki knows that Obi will follow her.
Obi deliberately postpones going to Lyrias, though, in order to consider his feelings for Shirayuki and how to tell Zen.
Then!! in 58-59 we get long-awaited confirmation from Obi that he has feelings for Shirayuki, and after this beautiful moment Obi goes to Lyrias to be at Shirayuki’s side, and after everything that has happened so far that is a clincher for me regarding our beloved Foreshadowing.
While discussing Obi’s crush on Shirayuki, Obi asks Zen
“Aren’t you going to propose?”
“.......................Well, I’m.. making her .. wait.”
“Master ... I don’t recommend postponing it, you know.”
I wonder about this comment. Is this a clue for us that Zen postponing engagement is going to be a negative thing in the future?
idk maybe ╮( ̄ω ̄)╭
Either way ........ This transition period, in between Lyrias 1 and 2, shows us that the story is changing.
___________________________
I have definitely not covered all of the possible moments of foreshadowing and am actually going to leave off on that topic for the time being. I might do a part 2 as its own post.
But for now I will switch to previously mentioned point that...
5) Obi and Shirayuki’s paths are walked together
I think the following two panels are a great way to frame their relationship. Chapter 20 in early Tanbarun arc:
Tumblr media
And then, much later in chapter 106 as they stand by the fire and Shirayuki tells Obi he’s handsome in the light:
Tumblr media
“... because you come with me.” ( ╥ω╥ )
And then more delightful talk from chapter 104 that I think is ... gasp
foreshadowing !!!!!
They are having this discussion after they’ve found out about Kiki becoming engaged to Hisame.
Tumblr media
“It’s necessary to have the courage to make a decision and take a step down that path, isn’t it?”
Shirayuki is possibly saying this due to the implications of Kiki’s letter. Kiki has made the choice to take a new path from the one she had been on by marrying Hisame.
So what about Shirayuki’s journey? Has her growth led her to a path she didn’t expect, and now it will take courage to step down it?
In recent chapters Shirayuki is shown to be seeing Obi differently and as a man:
overhearing him calling her beautiful and being surprised that he is embarrassed she heard
witnessing him going to a marriage meeting
that little moment where he is holding her wrist as a Lyrias knight tells him that the knights sister wishes him luck in love
the firelight comment oh my god
realizing she lost the pin Obi gave her and tearing up as she literally stared at him; upset that the gift she cherished is now missing and potentially realizing how very dear to her Obi actually is
fake dating and the 10 seconds of ... just... I still cant even
Obi is the one who is by Shirayuki’s side. They developed a bond through years friendship that is now being reframed by Akizuki. The nature of their relationship has been slowly changing and I think we approaching a time in the manga where Shirayuki will realize it.
___________________________
To answer your last question ... I do think ObiYuki has a chance and I do not think the author is just toying with us. I’ve talked a lot about my ObiYuki Endgame feels in previous posts/asks. I could probably talk about it forever but this post is absurdly long .... sorry
Thank you so much for the ask! and wow thank you so much if you actually read this whole thing!

a personal look at every oda nobunaga that I’ve seen so far... in as few words as possible. hopefully. (i failed)
Not a ranking or anything, and I’m not judging any actors, just the ‘character’ of nobunaga as he is portrayed. Any version of him that’s around long enough to have a general idea of who he is will be included.
This is also basically my way of archiving every Nobunaga I’ve seen so far.
what I need to watch or finish watching: Nobunaga: King of Zipangu, Hideyoshi (Taiga), Gunshi Kanbei, Tenchijin, Samurai Commando: Mission 1549, Nobunaga Moyu, Goemon, Three Nobunagas, Kunitori Monogatari
I’ll add onto this list as I go through more stuff with Nobunaga in it.
Kagemusha: Stole the show. Partly because Nobu is already outstanding compared to other conservative samurai (like ieyasu or shingen’s men,) and partly because his actor sold it that well. A bit of a spitfire.
Honnoji Hotel: Grew jaded over time, but empathetic and means well. Him being outstanding comes from his ambition. I just love this Nobu.
Nobunaga no Hitsugi: This is a kind, serious, focused Nobu. May or may not be based on how Gyuichi idolised him.
Katen no Shiro: A cool Nobu that knows what he’s doing despite still acting odd in comparison to his peers and having outrageous expectations. he listens when someone tells him something, and regardless of his reaction in the moment, he makes sure it turns out well.
Onna Nobunaga: Despite it being boringly written, this Nobunaga is played well. A no-bullshit type, jaded immediately, but everything regarding this Nobu and romance is meh.
The Kiyosu Conference: We don’t see much of him, but he’s played for goofs and I appreciate just how far they went to find someone that looks so absurdly like Nobunaga’s post-death portraits. Portrayed as tough, but dies quickly.
Toshiie to Matsu: Harsh, but playful and considerate. He cares deeply about his men and uses the sort of ‘tough love’ idea to whip them into shape. Headstrong.
Go: Himetachi no Sengoku: Now this Nobu.. is one of my favourites. For only appearing in a few episodes, we saw glimpses of an extremely complex character. He’s tough on people who annoy him or do things he thinks are illogical, but when faced with a character who tells him like it is (like he SEEKS from everyone else,) he laments his life. Keen on personal honour. Loves his family.
Sanadamaru: We really don’t see much of him, but he’s one of the Nobu who are always one step ahead, but has a real temper. When he gets angry, he is very angry.
Onna Joshu Naotora: This Nobunaga either intentionally or unintentionally strives to be the epitome of something inhuman. Rarely emotes (except in the case of handsome men.. and bread?) and uses “staring for long periods of time” to add to his intimidation factor. Again, I’m not sure whether he’s intentionally being scary or if it’s just a side effect of him being... him. This one’s the most ‘unhinged’.
Kirin ga Kuru: This Nobunaga is one of the more soft and playful ones, but he’s intense when he steps up to the role of it. He really wanted to make his parents proud of him, and was shunned by his family more with every attempt. Now that they’re all out of the picture, he has nothing else to distract him from bigger goals. Since this taiga is still ongoing, I’ve yet to see how he ends-up.
Nobunaga’s Ambition: Koei has a good way of adapting the same person/character differently multiple times. In Nobunaga’s Ambition, Nobunaga starts out as the aloof fool we’re all aware of, but abruptly after Masahide’s death, he shapes up to take over the country. Very driven... no surprise, since the game is about... his ambition.
Samurai Warriors: He varies somewhat from game to game, but he typically always has a “good” sense of humour... that no one else really understands. He doesn’t take life seriously, but takes death seriously instead. Stoic and serious for the most part, but he always has wisdom to share and will find things to laugh at.
Sengoku BASARA: Demon King Nobunaga. Written to embody that title. He doesn’t find any particular joy in killing or torturing (like Mitsuhide,) he just does it when he thinks it’s necessary for his goals. Still, like Samurai Warriors Nobu.. he sure does have a “good” sense of humour; in that he’ll find something to laugh about because it makes him cool. no problems here. He has a warped perspective on the ideals most Nobunaga have: he wants to end war... by destroying everything.
Gakuen BASARA: I’m calling it separate because I think the idea of Nobunaga as a “strict headmaster” is .. an interesting character idea. Honestly, he’s not all that strict. All the kids in his school are just morons, and he JUST SO HAPPENS to respond to it and their death threats by blowing them up, I guess. But he is deeply protective over his school (not so much the kids) almost caring about it like it’s a living thing and wanting to uphold its rules.
Pokemon Conquest: Acts cold and menacing and doesn’t explain himself clearly enough, which is why his sister leaves him and starts a revolt in the first place. He is so infatuated with talking like the riddler, or something. JUST BE CLEAR, mAN!! But, in the end of the game, one particular all-seeing eye assures him that it knows he has good intentions, and he’s allowed to remain. Was a fun kid.
Onimusha: He’s your typical satan-y hammy villain, and becomes a blob of meat in the end. He’s one step ahead,
Nioh/Nioh 2: Unlike other Koei adaptations of young Nobu, Nioh 2′s version of young Nobu is similar to their older Nobu. They’re both amused by small things but have a strong sense of pride and won’t do anything they don’t already want to do themselves.
Nobunaga Concerto: The actual!Nobu in Nobunaga concerto is a more reserved nobunaga, no doubt thanks to him assuming the role of Akechi Mitsuhide, under a headscarf. Saburo, the guy who takes actual!Nobu’s place, is a “typical goofy japanese teen”, but when placed in serious situations, he lives up to his role as a warlord and takes control.
Oda Cinnamon Nobunaga: This Nobunaga, while played for laughs, has a pretty clear character. When something annoys him, it’s very obvious. When he likes something, it’s very obvious. Otherwise, he’s perceptive and fun type. His stubbornness can get in the way of that, though.
Nobunaga no Shinobi: This Nobunaga is portrayed as more a neutral-good type, which isn’t a surprise considering he’s one of the main characters, and the actual main character happens to be his ninja who he treats almost like his kid. He’s serious most of the time, VERY protective of his sister and wife, quite respectful, and because it’s a humorous show, he can be plenty funny in a deadpan way. When he gets angry, he either explodes or goes into a depressed state where he acts/thinks cruelly.
Nobunaga no Chef: Similar to Nobunaga no Shinobi, this Nobunaga lashes out and acts cruel when angry. It’s more emphasised in this series, though, because he is consistently portrayed as more of a neutral character who acts harshly and seems uncaring on the outside. Buried under his fabulous clothes, however, he has a heart that knows exactly what it wants, and he never intends to do harm to innocents.
That one Toyota Ad Series: Actually, I love this Nobu. I can’t speak Japanese and I haven’t seen the ads translated, but the vibe of this Nobunaga is just great. The premise is that he and Hideyoshi are reborn in modern times, and as you’d expect when a warlord suddenly no longer has to wage war: he’s just chill. A badass type, but he’s prone to being surprised by everything new the world offers him (or when meeting old friends). Also he takes care of baby Masamune. Love him.

Day 22 : Nicknames - Mitsuhide Akechi
Tumblr media
“Wait, you have festivals in this era too?! That’s amazing!” I gasp in glee, looking up at the one eyed man. “Of course we do, lass! We gotta have fun sometimes too, y’know? People will always find means to entertain themselves, no matter the era they’re in.” Masamune winked at me, putting his arm around my shoulder. “That’s so cool! So, it’s tonight? Why didn’t I hear of that, now I’m upset!” I pouted briefly, crossing my arms. “Awww, Kitten, turn that frown into a smile, it suits you much better. Let’s go to Mitsuhide, I’m sure he’d love to take you to the festival.” Masamune teased me, making me stiffen up. “Mitsuhide...Huh? Isn’t like...Super busy all the time?” I bite my lip, looking away. “Kat, c’mon, literally all Azuchi...No, better said, the whole territory knows you have a thing for each other. Why don’t you just admit it already?” the chestnut haired man pressed on, yet his tone was more serious than usual. “You realise he could have literally any woman in Japan, right? Why would he choose me, of all people?” I take off his arm from my shoulder, sighing, as I take my little bag and prepare to leave his home. “Because, Katrina, you’re special. Foxes stick together, that’s what I’ve heard. You’d make a nice couple, don’t you think? Fire and Snow?” he spoke in a cryptic manner, which made me turn abruptly on my heel, taking him by the hem of his kimono and pulling him down to my level. “You know something and you’re hiding it from me, aren’t you, you sneaky little cyclops!” I shook him slightly, as much as my strength allowed me, but it only earned a very healthy laugh from him. “If you suddenly decide you prefer dragons over foxes, come at me, lass, I sure as hell would love to have you. Can’t say I’m not jealous that your affections are addressed to him, but I’m sure he’s a much better match for you than I’d be.” he took off my hands from his kimono and kissed them softly. “Go get him, Kitten.” he winked, making me sigh in annoyance. “Of course you knew something and wouldn’t tell me. That’s just like you, Masamune. All wild and mysterious, like the dark side of the moon. Very well, thank you for the advice. And...Masamune?” I call out to him before I left, earning a questioning hum. “Thank you. I’m sure someone like you will find a fitting match in no time. You’re amazing.” I winked at him, leaving back to the castle so I could prepare for the festival.
Thankfully enough, on my way there, from the market, Mitsuhide himself spotted me and saluted me, offering to escort me to the castle.
“Fancy seeing you on this fine day, Mitsuhide. How are you?” I smile tenderly at him. “Nothing unusual, per say. And you?” he spoke as evading as usual. “Nobunaga sent me on some trivial errands around. Oh, that reminds me. Masamune mentioned a festival happening tonight. Are there usually many of them yearly?” I ask in curiosity, no doubt my eyes shining. “Festivals? Hmm...Well, I suppose there aren’t that many. Then again, I suppose it would be your first festival in this era. Would you like to go?” he asked the fated question, making me grin wider. “Yes, that’d be lovely!” I clap my hands together in happiness. “Very well. I will talk to Masamune to escort you, then. He’s the one fondest of festivals around.” he said, making me grow visibly confused in a split second. “Wh-What? Why, don’t you like festivals? I thought you’d like to come as well.” I asked, trying not to show any worry. “Thank Nobunaga for giving me more work than necessary. Sorry, little fox, but sometimes we don’t get to choose the routes we would like, but the ones we must take.” he closed his eyes solemnly, patting my head as a way to apologise. “I see...Well, that’s a real pity.” I mutter, looking away with a pout. “There are always other festivals later on. Perhaps you would be willing to go with me for the next one, should my schedule not be so full.” he asked, making me look up at him with a small smile. “That would be really nice. Oh, I see we’ve arrived. Thank you for escorting me, Mitsuhide. I have to report to Nobunaga right away. Take care and don’t overwork yourself, alright?” I waved at him with a smile on my face, earning a soft chuckle from him. “That, at least, I can promise you.” he nodded, leaving to his home. “Well, time to sort things out, I guess.” I mutter to myself, rushing to Nobunaga’s room, where Hideyoshi and Mitsunari were discussing leisurely.
“Ahem. I would like 5 minutes with Nobunaga, if possible.” I looked at them with a strict look, and Nobunaga sensed that things would get fun, so he dismissed the 2 for a little while. “My little firecracker is back. What do you have to report so important that you had me kick them out?” he asked, and suddenly, I could feel my confidence deflating. “A-Ahem...Well...It’s...Not what I would call “Important” generally, per say, well, it would be for a certain small, restrained group of persons that I know, which will gain quite an emotional and moral benefit-” I trailed on, completely forgetting where I was trying to go, were it not for his dark chuckle of amusement. “I take it you want to ask a favour of me, correct?” he raised his eyebrow, holding a knowing smirk on his face. “...Yes.” I sighed, letting all the pent up stress go away. “Ask away, then. Knowing you, it’s going to be something innocent.” he rested his face on his fist, looking at me expectingly. “Could you...Post-pone Mitsuhide’s work for tomorrow? I found out tonight is a festival and he said he’d like to go, but was buried in work and couldn’t do much about it.” I bite my lip, looking away, but Nobunaga’s expression changed to a passive one, his smile vanishing. “I don’t want to ruin your dreams, Katrina, but as far as I remember, I didn’t give Mitsuhide any huge amount of work, nor was it urgent, so say the least. You might want to clarify things before they go out of control.” he patted me on the shoulder, but I couldn’t cheer up. “I see...So he lied even to me. Guess I should stop asking favour for others.” I mutter, getting up, ready to leave. “Thank you for your time and advice, Nobunaga. I appreciate it.” I open the door, looking at the 2 men chatting outside. “You can go back inside.” but I didn’t look at them, only thinking over Nobunaga’s words.
Well, guess Masamune was dead wrong.
That’s annoying.
I could always ask Masamune to come with me, so I wouldn’t go alone, right?
Ah, no, never mind, he said he was leaving somewhere else for the week.
Okay, alone it is.
I dressed in my pink yukata, put on the pink flower hair pin that Mitsuhide gifted me, more or less without even realising it, and as the Sun started setting, I made my way to the festival up the hill, but I wasn’t expecting it to be so beautiful, full of booths with games, candy, good fortune trinkets, love trinkets, accessories, fans and all that.
I wondered around, getting candy, looking around at the beautiful lights, so much, got myself a fan...And the best part...A Kitsune mask.
I grinned at it in delight, getting it as I attached it to the side of my obi.
“Hey, miss, do you know about the Love Tree?” a girl about my age asked randomly, which made me jump in my skin as I wasn’t expecting random strangers to talk to you. “Hmm? What is that?” I asked in curiosity as she gasped in shock. “You don’t know?! Basically, there is this Sakura tree and we write the name of our crush on a piece of wood and hang it on a branch, and it’s fated that you will be together forever. Lovely, isn’t it? I’m finally of age, so it’s my first time doing this. Here, have this piece of wood, it’s from the stall right there.” she explained excitedly, gifting me the little piece of wood and showed me to the man who had a brush and ink, so I could write my crush’s name on. “Okay...I guess I’m done. Hey, does this festival have a name? Or a reason why it exists?” I ask in curiosity, holding the little trinket close to my chest. “Of course it does! We celebrate the blooming of the Sakura trees! It’s the best time of the year, if you ask me-...Oh! Sorry, but I have to go! I just spotted my boyfriend, and I promised him we’d put each other’s name on the Tree. See you there!” she waved me goodbye, rushing to her boyfriend and attaching herself to his arm. “How...Cute.” I mutter, looking down at the little trinket in my hands, stroking it gingerly. “And here I am, being stupid. I’m a modern girl, and yet, I’m still doing silly highschool rituals.” I sighed, upset at my childishness, before a pair of hands abruptly planted on my shoulder, making me squeal in surprise and fright, turning around swiftly, ready to punch my assailant...Who turned out to be a silver fox. “Mitsu...Hide...?” I looked at him in shock, not having expected him here. “I thought you didn’t want to come to this place, more less see me. Why the sudden change of heart?” I ask skeptically, hiding the little trinket in my purse. “My, little fox, to think you’d be so direct with your interrogation, although you have the wrong idea, it is completely my fault. Will you let me make it up to you and explain the misunderstanding?” he said gently, looking at me in the eyes. “I suppose it wouldn’t hurt to know.” I mutter, looking away. “Very well. Would you come with me?” he asked, extending his hand for me to take. “I have nothing better to do.” I put my hand in his, as he guided me up the hill, where what seemed to be like a huge Sakura tree stood there, with lots of wood trinkets were hanging from the many branches.
I wasn’t able to fully focus on the stunning scenery as the nervousness I got from Mitsuhide’s presence was getting to me. We both sat down, leaning on the large trunk of the Sakura tree, and silence took over us momentarily.
“I won’t make up any excuse for my lies. I suppose it wasn’t gracious to lie even to you, my little fox. My intentions were not ill-willed, I promise. Although, I was not expecting you to go even to Nobunaga to ask for a favour. You never cease to surprise me, do you?” he smiles softly, turning his head to gaze at me. “I suppose it was meaningless in the end. But don’t worry about me, I can enjoy a festival without company.” I refuted, still pissed at him lying. “I apologise for lying to you. I wanted to surprise you, but I see it backfired rather hard. I never know what to expect from a modern woman like yourself.” he explained, taking out a small pink flower and putting it in my hair clip. “You look as beautiful as always. Pink really suits you, my dear little fox.” he complimented in a soft, lower voice, putting a strand of my hair behind my ear. “Don’t think compliments can make up for your lies, Mitsuhide. I’m still upset.” I huffed, but somehow, it seemed to make him chuckle. “Would this make you smile?” he asked, taking out a wood trinket, similar to mine, yet the difference was...That my name was neatly written on it. “What...?” my eyes widen in surprise, looking at the trinket in his hand. “Don’t be so surprise, I know very well you know of this festival’s tradition. In fact, I saw your trinket. It was rather cute, if you ask me.” he smirked, teasing me, his face closer to mine. “It was a silly mistake on my part, don’t flatter yourself.” I scoffed at his boasting, despite knowing full well that it was the truth. “Well, it’s almost time for the fireworks. Would you like to put the trinkets in the Tree, my dear fire fox?” his grin resembled one of a fox, but I wasn’t going to complain, since it made my heart beat faster. “If the silver fox will, then we shall.” he helped me get up, but when I looked up, all the lower branches were already full with trinkets from the previous years, so I couldn’t reach it...But he could. “Does it count if you put both?” I ask, tilting me head to the side, but he didn’t answer, as he put his. “There would be no fun, would it?” he smirked as he put his arms around me, raising me up, earning a squeak of surprise, as I put my hands on his shoulders for balance. “You really have a bad tendency of scaring people, Mitsuhide!” I call out in fake annoyance, despite my cheeks getting the colour of my kimono. “But you have such cute reactions, I can’t resist teasing you.” he said as I put my trinket next to his. “You can put me down now, thanks.” I chuckle nervously as he put me down. “Oh...! Mitsuhide, look! The Moon and stars are so beautiful and close tonight...!” I gesture for him to come closer as I rush towards the top of the hill, looking up at the beautiful sky. “Pollution destroyed so much of the environment that the sky doesn’t look...Well...As gorgeous as this. I could just gaze at it all night, for the rest of my life, and I won’t get tired of it.” I turn back to Mitsuhide, extending my arm toward him, as a serene look didn’t fade from my face. “My, and I could gaze at you all day, and I wouldn’t get enough of you. Seeing you upset really breaks my heart, little fox, but I’ve been thinking of how your lips would taste the whole day. Would you let me me find an answer?” he asked, putting his hands on my face, making me look up at him, and I realised all the bitterness I held in my heart, vanished. “What a bold proposition, Mitsuhide. But I quite like it.” I giggled and got on my tippy toe, wrapping my arms around his neck and pulling him into a deep and passionate kiss, finally listening to my heart’s cry. “You’re saying I’m bold, and yet, you don’t have a clue how your actions make me feel. If it were my way, I wouldn’t let you go from my arms.” he pulled me back into a kiss just as tender and loving, before gazing into my eyes with such a soft look that I almost didn’t recognise him. “My dear silver fox is rather mellow today. I never thought I’d live to see that day. You make my heart beat faster than ever before, and yet, you say that I’m the one making you feel weird things.” I gave him a smug side smile, but before he could say another word, the voice of the girl that told me about the tradition called out to me very shocked.
“No way! Mitsuhide Akechi was your lover?!” she gasped, as it took a few seconds to get over my shock and laugh at her. “Yeah, he is. Y’know what they say...Foxes stick together.” I winked at Mitsuhide, before he chuckled and put his arm around my waist, telling me to sit down. “The fireworks are going to start.” he informed, bringing me closer to him. “I had no idea fireworks dated so far back...Whoa! So beautiful!” I gasped in awe, clasping my hands together. “And they’re even more beautiful when you have someone to watch them with.” he muttered, kissing my temple. “Yeah...You’re right...” I sigh in content, feeling at peace with everything happening today.

How I Translate IkeSen
Tumblr media
It makes plenty sense, darling! I’ll be happy to show you my somewhat clumsy methods. Keep in mind that my Japanese is limited, but I’m familiar with it and can read Hiragana and Katakana.
Also, I’m sorry if this is long. I hope it helps!
There are be apps out there that can translate things you take pictures of, but IkeSen is a mobile game so that won’t do. Thus, I transcribe every line myself. That’s the TL;DR version of it; I take screenshots from the Japanese version (available on Google Play), type it out, and then translate. I wish it was as easy as copy and pasting, but it gets easier the more Japanese I learn doing this. lol
Here’s a few tips~
Tip #1: Learn to read Hiragana and Katakana
Definitely important. You’ll be able to read more Japanese than you think! Plus, you don’t want to be copying and pasting each character you need from the Hiragana Wikipedia article into the translator. (Totally not saying this because I used to do this years ago... hahaha...)
Tip #2: Search for Kanji by their radicals
There aren’t many hiragana and katakana, but there are literally thousands of kanji. Even if you learned to read hiragana and katakana perfectly, that only helps with simple sentences; you’d still be stumped without knowing kanji.
Since I don’t know much myself, it’s necessary to look them up. But if I can’t read it, then how can I search for them? It’s more simple than you think!
Kanji are made up of radicals; think of them like little puzzle pieces.
Tumblr media
This is the kanji 嬉 (as in 嬉しい or ureshii, meaning ‘happy’). If you break it down, you can find the radicals or even other kanji! (In this case, the radicals are 女, 士, 豆, and 口).
Some online dictionaries allow you to search for kanji based on the radicals. They list them all, and you pick the radicals you think belong in the kanji you’re looking for. It is a lifesaver! With this, we can write anything we need.
Tip #3: Typing in Japanese
Installing a Japanese keyboard is essential and way easier than I thought it would be. On my PC (Windows 10), I went into Language Settings and added Japanese. Boom. Done.
Once you do that, the option will appear at the bottom right corner of your screen. You can also toggle between languages by pressing left Alt and Shift. (Another useful shortcut is Shift and Caps Lock. This switches between English and Japanese on the Japanese keyboard, which is super useful to me since I also have a Korean keyboard installed. Keeps it simple instead of juggling between the three keyboards.)
And the more you translate, the more kanji you learn. By the end of my first run of Mitsuhide’s route, I was able to write down entire sentences just with my own knowledge!
If you can’t install a Japanese keyboard, no worries; Google Translate allows you to type in Japanese. Just make sure you select “Japanese to English” and click the あ icon (which is ’A’ in Japanese Hiragana).
Tip #4: My Translating Tools
Jisho and Google are my best friends in this endeavor:
Jisho (or any other Kanji dictionary)
This site allows you to look up kanji by their radicals. If you have a hunch what a kanji means, you can also type out the English word and it’ll search for relevant kanji and phrases.
And if you search an entire sentence in Japanese, it’ll break it down piece by piece (nouns, verbs, etc.). However, it won’t give a full translation. You’ll have to figure out the meaning based on what’s given and what you know, or use another translator.
Seriously praise Jisho I love it and wouldn’t know what to do without it. I used to go page-by-page in other online dictionaries to find kanji. (No wonder I stopped translating...)
Google Translate (for reference)
I know, I know; it’s Google Translate and it’ll give you something incorrect or downright incoherent half the time. But that’s why I only use it as a reference.
I personally like to take the sentence apart to see what Google gives me. On some occasions, it can give helpful suggestions or synonyms. Most times... it’s an amusing hot mess. lol
Google Search (for research)
Occasionally, your translators will fail to translate a particular phrase or word. This is when you have to search it up yourself.
Use something like “Japanese phrase ___ meaning” or whatever works for you. You might find other websites that meet your translating needs as well. I just stick with Google and Jisho for simplicity.
Often times, it’s informal speech.
Sound effects are also common. IkeSen likes using them, even in the middle of a sentence, so look out for that. (e.g. “I looked up and, swish, the sliding door opened.”; “Crunch; with that, he bit down on the candy.”)
Once I’m satisfied, I repeat the process with the next line. And that’s the basics!
There must be more efficient ways of doing this, as it still takes me hours due to my amateur Japanese. But I had time and really wanted to translate Mitsuhide’s route. >< Where there’s a will, there’s a way...
An example is under the cut. Hope this post helps! (or makes you think twice about translating instead of waiting around for the English version. lol)
Translating time~
Bonus: Example
Tumblr media
This is a random screenshot from Mitsuhide’s route, though he isn’t saying anything spoilery, so don’t worry.
You will learn to recognize all the warlords’ names in time. It’s just Mitsuhide and MC in this scene, so it’s easy to tell who’s who. Thus, Mitsuhide is 光秀.
If we know hiragana and katakana, we can get most of this sentence sorted out right out the gate.
...Oide. _ wo, yoku _sero
Typed out in Japanese:
…おいで。_を、よく_せろ
We only need to find two kanji in this line. I already know these by heart since they’re pretty common, but let’s open up Jisho in a tab and break it down.
The first kanji:
Tumblr media
As you can see, there’s quite a lot of radicals to get used to. But the more radicals you select, the more fade out as you narrow down what kanji it can be. I narrowed it down to one by picking three radicals I recognized.
This kanji is 顔, pronounced kao, meaning ‘face’.
The second kanji is much simpler. It’s actually a radical, too, but I’ll look it up anyway:
Tumblr media
It often won’t be the first or only one listed. But once you find what you’re searching for, just click it and it’ll appear in the search bar.
So now we have the whole sentence!
Tumblr media
光秀:…おいで。顔を、よく見せろ
Mitsuhide: ...Oide. Kao wo, yoku misero
Time to figure out what this means. We can look it up if we can’t do it on our own. Even if you’re certain, it’s good to double check. It gives me ideas on how to translate it into English, in addition to finding it’s meaning.
When you plug the whole sentence into Jisho...
Tumblr media
You get this. You can click parts of the sentence to look at each word or phrase. If you can’t click it, then it doesn’t have it in its dictionary and you’d need to look elsewhere (or check spelling).
Based on this, Mtisuhide is telling MC to come to him because he wants MC to show her face properly. There isn’t any “him” or “her,” so this is a guess based on context... because that’s how Japanese be. If I personally had a better handle on the grammar, perhaps it’d be easier for me, but I’m still new at this.
Now I do a little research and use what I personally know. His use of “Misero” instead of “Miseru” is informal, and “-seru” means something along the lines of “made to” do something. (Wikipedia’s article on Japanese verb conjugations says “Miseru” means “definitely do” or “show that I do”.)
What does Google Translate have to say?
Tumblr media
A little awkward, and a bit literal, but it’s enough to let us know that I’m probably on the right track.
This is the point where I get tired and impatient and, unfortunately, I make more assumptions instead of ensuring the sentence is as accurate as possible... But these translations are mostly for me, so I try not to worry too much. Besides, hopefully the English version will come out eventually~.
My rough translation would be along the lines of...
Mitsuhide: Come. Let me get a good look at your face
or maybe “Come here. Show me your face”
And that’s it!
If you hope to translate something yourself, then best of luck! Liveblogging helped me be more thorough instead of skipping around the story, but it does take a lot of time, so only do what you think is the most fun and interesting! And prepare for a lot of scowling at a screen and mumbling Japanese to yourself lol

Chapter 8 – Forgotten Instincts
After the doors had closed [Name] let out a noise that was a mixture of a cry and groan causing Mitsuhide to look to see if she had somehow hurt herself on something in the few seconds it had taken him to press the button on the wall.
“Sing for your Master! What the Hell!? First, I get told I’m being ‘kept’ here as a kind of puppet. Even knowing that I still get shocked by the fact that he wants to take me out to give a performance of God knows what, to where, and for who.” The air around her was buzzing and her voice was a controlled mixture of rage and confusion.
“Nobunaga is normally like that and once his mind is set…” Mitsuhide had begun to try to smooth out her mood only to be interrupted.
“It’s not about him. I mean he is an arrogant, demanding jerk, but it’s not about him at all it’s me.” Her voice still had an edge to it that could have cut glass but she was calming down and her shoulders rounded as she hung her head.
“You? I’m afraid you’ve lost me my dear.” Mitsuhide kept his small comfortable distance from her so as not to exasperate the situation. No good has ever come from getting too close to a woman in an emotionally agitated state. Tell them to calm down they simply get angrier, but he had a new urge to reach out and touch her. Look up.
“Yes me. I have never in all my life felt to completely useless. I can’t do anything. I can’t go home I can’t work, I can’t see my cat, I can’t go outside, there is nothing for me to do except sit in my room looking out of the windows. I’m in a situation I can’t escape from and I can’t change it… I’m so frustrated with myself that I even got into this mess in the first place.” Desperation leaked through her words as she plainly spelled out what she was thinking and feeling. It was a jumbled mess but she was still processing her thoughts.
Mitsuhide suddenly understood she wasn’t just angry at Nobunaga and his plans he made without consideration for others, she was lashing out at herself internally. Well I know how that feels, that is a feeling I can work with. He had never been good with crying women, but angry, hurt, damaged those things fell right into his skill set.
“Well little mouse it might be best if instead of focusing on what you can’t do and instead look at what you can.” He was speaking from experience with that at least. He knew it was difficult to be in a situation you cannot avoid but it helped to focus on when you can control rather than what you couldn’t.
“What do you mean?” She looked up at him her questioning eyes glittering before him and he really wanted to move closer but forced himself to remain in place. Teasing is all very well and good but it is only fun when they aren’t already upset.
“You can ask for anything except your freedom. If you wish for new clothes, make up, games… they are all but a request away.” Mitsuhide remined her. You have either forgotten this or you really are just a simple little creature content with very little.
“And you honestly expect me to be happy playing dress up, doing girly stuff day in day out… I’m going to go even crazier!” The glitter in her eyes turned to sparks as she pushed back verbally against him. It wasn’t exactly a fight but she was defiant to the last.
It was true that when he had visited her apartment there had been enough to comfortably live but nothing that he would have said screamed she was that kind of girl lying around. Her clothes were meticulously organized in their appropriate draws and cupboards and her vanity table had a bare minimum of make-up. There was obviously a woman there but not one that spent a lot of money on either her clothing or her own vanity. Low maintenance isn’t so bad, not like she needs a lot of make up anyway.
“Point taken… well then what would you usually do that didn’t involve going outside to entertain yourself?” Curiosity started to kick in now and he found himself asking a genuine question without any under lying motives. When did I care so much about making one person comfortable?
“Well I watched DVDs, read some books, I also had my cat, my mobile, laptop, oh and I had my hobby.” She looked a bit nostalgic as she remembered how she coped with spare time. It was strange to see that look when she had only really been with them all for nearly a week. But he knew how time seemed to drag when you had nothing to do, a day felt like a week a week a month and so on. They just blurred and time itself felt like it had stopped. If time flies when you’re having fun, it dies when you aren’t.
“Mobile and laptop completely off limits I’m sorry but I must control communications during this time and those are a big no no. But this hobby of yours… it wasn’t going out running and locating gun fights now was it?” He couldn’t stop it he teased her and she gave a little huff to his words but still answered him.
“No, I paint and draw.” Calmer now it looked like she had suddenly remembered where they were as she went quite balling her fists up at her sides looking at the sliding doors in front of them.
The elevator stopped and opened once more onto the corridor that ran to the other rooms in the building and she removed herself quickly from the metal box.
“I didn’t know that.” Mitsuhide said thoughtfully as he moved to her side and they began walking once more.
“Did you ask?” Her little jab was a tiny bit biting but from her face he could see she was just poking back at him.
“Touché.” Muttered Mitsuhide as he looked down on her.
They remained in a comfortable silence until they reached her room. It was curious, Mitsuhide had never taken an interest in anyone unless it benefited him to do so and yet he found himself wanting to dig deeper and find out more about this slip of a girl that obliviously puts herself in danger, speaks her mind without a filter and whilst she was undeniably fragile she showed such strength.
“Thank you.” Her quite words caught him off guard and he looked at her again.
“Emm what for? I haven’t done anything that warrants thanks.” Mitsuhide asked clearly perplexed by the gratitude. It was true he hadn’t if anything she could probably blame him for a lot of her situation but instead she wasn’t.
“I just wanted to say it. Anyway… Good night Mitsuhide.” She flashed his a genuinely vibrant smile that sucked all the air from his lungs. She appeared to be moving in slow motion as she entered her room and closed the door behind her but all to fast it was over and he was rooted to the spot by her door staring at the memory of the first smile she had ever shown him replaying it over and over before his eyes. Well that is incredibly unfair.
He managed to move his body away from her room and back to his and he went straight to his kitchen and grabbed a bottle of red wine pouring himself a large glass of it before deciding on put his lips to the bottle and chugging a few gulps instead. He let out a deep sign before setting down the bottle and picking up the glass moving towards his balcony for some fresh air.
As he lent on the railing gazing out into the city still alive and buzzing he took a deep breath before sighing once more. It wasn’t like him, it wasn’t like him at all not once in all these years had he let someone get under his skin. But out of no where she slid in like smoke seeping into his pores and running into him until she came to his frozen heart and made it beat once more.
“This could be very, very bad…” He recalled the feeling he had had when he first brought her here and contrary to his words and negative tone of his voice he was smiling.
---
The sun had set hours ago and the long shadows of the night had all joined up blanketing the area in darkness. He moved into the buildings foyer and collected the mail from the wall of post boxes. Junk mostly but a few envelopes promised to be something that required reading. He dumped the junk mail into the recycling bin before moving to the staircase to begin his climb to her apartment.
She told him she didn’t get in elevators even in this building it was clear she was terrified of them so it didn’t shock him. He preferred staircases as it limited the chance or time he might be caught on a camera. In a lift you were more than likely on camera from the second the door opened, however in a staircase you could see it and maybe move to avoid it if you wanted too. Blind spots… we all had them and our technology wasn’t much better.
He reached the level he was looking for and quickly found her front door. He pulled out her keys that he had taken from her when she was passed out in his arms, he also had her mobile phone. He didn’t remember doing it, it was in some way a reflex of his, a secondary unconscious motion that had saved his neck many times before.
He smirked at the collection of cutesy keychains as he turned the key in the lock. How adorably predictable. Inside the tiny apartment it was the same as she had left it, clean, tidy and if he was honest comforting. He felt it when he first found the place that her presence in the small abode was like walking into a welcoming hug. How long had it been since that had happened? Did it ever actually happen?
His experience with relationships was tainted he knew that. You don’t grow up in their world and not meet your fair share of schemers, blackmailers, would be assassins or collection of other people who are trying to get what they can before it’s too late. Rewards for deeds best left forgotten. If he had found warmth in someone else’s arms it was normally an act of some sort. Never fall in love, never get deeply attached, hell he was damned now if he could remember the names. Shaking his head slightly he moved towards the living room and sat on her sofa and checked her mail for her.
He flipped his phone open and typed out a few names and numbers before closing it again assured that the bills had been paid without even having to check. He saw her laptop sitting in the corner and was tempted to pick it up and look but decided to leave that for another night.
– Purrwow –
Her cat jumped up on the sofa next to him looking at him with a pair of deep green eyes. Pets in general didn’t interest him, he knew that Masamune had a pet tiger that he rescued from a black-market dealer when he was buying supplies for his company. Nobunaga had that big black bird that he was told was a hawk of some sort, Ieyasu had a deer so some unknown reason, Hideyoshi had a monkey which always got a few laughs from Nobunaga as “the resemblance is uncanny. Must be in the DNA.” Mitsuhide had no pet, he was barely around so having one seemed like it might be unfair to the creature so he never bothered. Mitsunari had brought home a kitten one day he found by a dumpster and if Mitsuhide went to see him in the library the cat would normally curl up and let him stroke it.
This cat, her cat, just seemed to stare at him. If he was another sort of man he would possibly get unnerved by it but he just stared back into those emerald eyes and waited for this staring game end.
He had arranged for one of his men to pop in and check on the cat as part of basic duties. And he could see that the litter box and bowls were all clean and filled.
“Well what do you want?” He asked the purring creature.
The cat hopped down and walked into a different room and he followed. It was her bedroom. Crisp white sheets with delicate cherry blossom patterns on the edges on the bed, neatly arranged furniture around the room feminine in a minimal and modest way. Just like her, He thought to himself as he watched the cat move to a mirrored door beside it clawing at it lightly before looking at him.
“What you go a toy in there of something?” He chuckled lightly at the animal pining for its trapped plaything and he slid the door back to see a couple of portfolios. That’s right she did say she drew. Without staying any longer, the cat walked off with a tiny swagger as if to say it’s work here was done.
He picked up the portfolios and placed them on the bed and opened them. Inside drawings and paintings in pencil and ink mesmerized him slightly. Landscapes, mythical creatures, people, there even seemed to be a few that looked like dress designs. She was good, there was an innocent, naive quality to it all and it was so very her and very charming. After admiring them for a while he carefully put them away again and left the apartment. In his car he took out his phone and left a message for one of his contacts to get in touch in the morning.
“Did I just take orders from a cat?” he asked himself as he started up the car. He shook his head laughing to himself as he made his way downtown.
In the darker shadows across the street from the apartment block hidden from the pools of light cast down from the street lamps, a figure dressed in black watched as one of the six pulled away. After a few minutes they too left the scene without a trace and headed to a warehouse outside of the city.

Let’s play a game!
***Credit to this post
1. Who would you most likely be best friends with?
Mitsunari and Sasuke
Mitsunari is a God-given gift! He’s just all the good vibes. I think us working on our separate tasks in the same room would be so lovely. And then we can have our meals together 🥺
And for obvious reasons, Sasuke and I would understand each other on a whole other level so we’d be besties for sure. He would literally be my only connection to the present time, how could we not bond over that? We’re also both STEM peeps so I’d like to get lost in physics jargon with him. And Sasuke is so sweet!!! He’s always looking out for MC, no matter what.
2. Who would you least likely be best friends with?
Mitsuhide 😢 and Ieyasu 😢
Realistically, I (with hella social anxiety), would be so terrified of these two. I would so so so badly want to be friends and want to be on a comfortable level of banter and teasing with them, but I would find these two so intimidating and cool and better than me (and honestly, I would for sure get a little hurt by Ieyasu’s bluntness before I ever got annoyed by him). But also, considering these two's routes, I think I could do absolutely nothing, contribute absolutely nothing, and these bitches would run through fire for me? So idk, maybe we could be friends. Acquaintances??
3. Who would you want to be with?
Mitsuhide
Holy shit, do I love this man. Like, do I need to explain any further? I want to smother him with all kinds of love and adoration!!!
4. Who would you realistically marry?
Hideyoshi
Definitelyyyyyyy. Hideyoshi is caring and dependable and I would feel safe confiding in him. He’s like a really really nice hug personified. This boy really just needs to stop sister-zoning and downplay his love for Nobunaga.
5. Who would you most likely bicker with (playfully)?
Ieyasu, Yukimura, Masamune
After I get past the stage of being hurt by Ieyasu’s honestly, oh boy, I’m unleashing my Aries energy on him and shredding him to pieces. I’ll bicker with this man any day. But like, tbh, I’d also probably find myself agreeing with his complaints a lot of the time?? Like, there's no need for Masamune to have so much energy at this hour, or for Hideyoshi to be reprimanding Mitsuhide again? If you can't tell, I am a person who's only capable of giving and receiving 45% energy at any given time.
As for Yukimura, I don’t think anyone could not bicker with him?? He just says things sometimes and it’s so easy to say something back.
I picture bickering with Masamune but only in certain situations. I’m not exactly sure what situations, but I feel like half the time, I’d have so much fun with this guy, and other times I’m like, “Please for the love of God, leave me alone.”
6. Who would you most likely bicker with (seriously)?
Kicho, Motonari
I don’t think I could ever bring myself to seriously bicker with someone cause I feel like that takes too much of my energy but I would absolutely be smack-talking these two in my mind. Like, Kicho is still too much of an unknown character and I’m really only seeing the pretentious asshole side of him.
As for Motonari, I haven’t played his route so I don’t know much about him either. Based on his appearances, I think I would find his war-loving personality too much to handle. Like, if I were to bring Motonari to the future, he’d become one of those guys who become too obsessed with WWII history, y’know? I hope this isn’t a hot take.
7. Who would you bunk up with if you had to?
Mitsunari, Sasuke
Oh man, with these guys, I’d get so much sleep. I just picture Mitsunari and Sasuke doing work in one corner by candlelight and I’m just like “Aight, I’m going to sleep.”
8. Who would you want to initiate a romance with you?
Nobunaga, Masamune, Ieyasu, Mitsuhide, Kenshin
Mainly because I enjoyed these suitors the most and also because I don't think I would ever make the first move ever and these people would (well, Nobunaga and Masamune would). To have Nobunaga initiate something is a fucking cakewalk.
9. Who would you not want to initiate a romance with you?
Sasuke
I know there are plenty of Sasuke lovers out there, but I can't picture him that way. I'm sorry but I will probably be friend-zoning this man till the day I die.
10. Who would you regularly hang out with?
Ieyasu and Masamune
Very weird pair, I know. And also very contradictory to what I said before about being too intimidated, but I think that somehow I would find myself with Ieyasu because he's the one to mind his own business and I vibe with that, and I would just like to work in the same room with him, just as I would with Mitsunari (except I also get Ieyasu's bristly personality, which I love). And when Ieyasu is finally fed up with me, I would bug Masamune and ask if he could teach me how to cook authentic food from that time period because boy oh boy, I'm not missing out on that opportunity. I love food.

♥ Tagged - Randomize my life! (SLBP Version)
Rules: Pick 15 people and randomize them here. Make a new post and fill in each section with the number corresponding to your results. Feel free to tag anyone!
I got tagged by @mandakatt  and decided to do this entirely SLBP style. But oh god, what have I created?!
1. Mom or Dad: Kenshin - Good lord can you imagine? It’d be like one of those sitcoms or dramedy movies where the kids take care of their loopy space-cadet father, wouldn’t it? Making their own breakfast, otherwise he’d be serving chocolate ice-cream on top of cinnamon toast crunch or something.
02. Sibling: Yukimura - Awww. Awwwww...this would be so cute. I’d totally welcome Yukimura as big or little bro. Either way he’s got your back!
03. Grandma or Grandpa: Shingen - Ahahahaha...ever met one of those pervy old grandpas that insist on telling you about all the ladies they dated before you grandma, or how suave they were back in their day, or giving you dating advice? And you’re just cringing and stuffing another deviled egg in your mouth at Christmas, desperately wondering why your wine glass doesn’t refill itself? No? Nobody? Is this just a problem I have??
04. Haunts you: Mitsunari -  What a shitty ghost to have, really. He’d organize your messy books, spoil makeup he thinks is cheap and tawdry, and rearrange the spilled salt to spell out insults. Heaven help you if you ever pulled out the ouija board - he’d manage to throw shade as a shade that would blister the devil’s own ear. No wonder he’s still stuck on earth.
05. Boyfriend or girlfriend: Toramatsu - It’s a heavy, weighty responsibility - that of corrupting the innocent. But I am ready, willing, and able to take on that burden sir yes sir!
06. Your ex: Mitsuhide - Oh man. It was probably one of those quiet breakups, the ones that almost hurt worse than the explosive types. Where you just realized one day that there was no way you could force a square peg into a round hole, but it’s not the other part’s fault. You don’t have a good reason to NOT be with him...you just don’t have a good reason TO, and that really. Really. Sucks.
07. Your best friend: Saizo - WTF. I feel like this would not really actually happen but if it did it’s more just because he’s also your brother Yukimura’s bestie and they include you in everything, until one day you wake up hungover in a strange place at 3 AM and when Yuki doesn’t answer you find you’ve called Saizo. It’s never spoken of again after he takes you home, but the knowing sits warm and tight in your chest for weeks afterwards, and when he just sort of shows up one day you sit around watching Deadpool and pick it apart together.
08. Proposed: Toshiie - Is this really any stretch? He’s probably been joking about marrying you since you were seven. When he asked at ten you squealed about how gross boys were. When he asked at fifteen you just turned bright red and ran. When he asked at your twenty-first birthday you were more than a little tipsy and laughed until rum and coke came out your nose and then ran off to tell your friends. That was the last time he asked.
09. Your boss: Shigezane - This would be so? Cool? Shigezane would be the most awesomesauce boss, laid back and chill but still supportive AF, and if you ever need to take a personal day it’s yours. No questions asked.
10. A random person you meet at a bar: Kojuro - It was probably a wine bar, near the courthouse where all the bigshot lawyers and corporate types schmooze about. You’re there for a special networking event, and the man with his jacket tossed over the barstool behind him and his sleeves rolled just the perfect amount up shares a quip while you wait for your glass of pinot gris. Only later does it occur to you that your tab’s been taken care of, and though you visit again for the next few weeks you never see that steady smile again.
11. Your rival: Nobunaga - I mean this is kind of a given, right? I think Nobunaga is incapable of any existence where he’s NOT a rival of some sort. The man needs drama like he needs air. Last box of brownie mix on the shelf just before Thanksgiving? Throw down. That asshole in the Lambo at the red light beside you, revving his engine and eyeing you in your Volvo over the top of his aviators? Nobunaga.
12. Gave you your first kiss: Masamune - I feel like this had to be a dare. Or a game. The most awkward round of spin-the-bottle you played in someone’s basement, dark and fumbling and his lips tasted of 7-Up, a thousand degrees beneath yours with the heat of his embarrassment.
13. Drunk and singing karaoke with: Oichi - YES. YES. I need this like yesterday. We have ‘Telephone’ choreographed and everything and belt it out together, and she always manages to get the number of the same man whose lap she’s poured her drink into by the end of the song.
14. Played seven minutes in heaven with: Hideyoshi - Oh hells yes. I mean, have you read the epilogue where this basically already happened?! You’d tumble out when the time was up, flushed and panting and not remembering what goddamned century it was, and even his smug grin wouldn’t be enough to make you resent the way he haunts your wet dreams for the next three months.
15. Gave you your favorite dessert: Ieyasu - This is hard to see. Unless it’s bribe? It’s probably a bribe. It’s definitely probably a bribe.  And I’d be double checking to make sure it wasn’t poisoned.
This was a lot of ridiculous fun, thanks for the tag Mandakatt! If anyone else would like to do this, go for it - I’d specifically like to see @wonky-glass-ornament, @yoolee, @cavern-of-bells, @suzunesays, @han-pan, @frywen-babbles try it!

Akagami no Shirayukihime Dragon Companion AU compilation
Okay, guys. This is getting really long and I don’t regret a thing.
This is a collection of a bunch of ideas and images from a thread on the Obiyuki discord that we’ve tossed around about an ANS AU where dragons exist. I’ve had some thoughts since then and have added my ideas to the list, but there are still a lot of blank spaces and room for expansion.
I’m listing any ANS writers/artists who have said they want to create content for any of these. PLEASE feel free to send me pictures, ideas, suggestions, alterations, questions, etc. Literally anything you can think of, anonymously or otherwise. I’ll post the asks and let it go a few rounds in the ANS fandom to see what ideas most of us seem to like best and add them to this master post.
I hope this monstrous thing serves as inspiration for some of you and is good, wholesome fun for the rest of us.
Dragons are immortal creatures that have existed since the dawn of time and come in many shapes and sizes. Most are hundreds to thousands of years old and females and babies are rare. They choose To live among humans as lifelong companions and friends, finding a new companion after the previous has died.
(Note: Dragon’s age the equivalent of about 1 year to every 7 that passes through infancy to adulthood. Once they reach maturity - around 200 years of age - they cease maturing and can live indefinitely, so far as we are aware. Some species never stop growing, some do.)
Shirayuki’s
Tumblr media
Color: Pink
Size: Pocket (5-10 inches long)
Age: 250
Personality: Angry. Snaps and hisses at people, particularly Raj and his dragon or anyone who tries to touch her hair. Hides out in Shirayuki’s pockets and hoods - and under her hair, when it was long.
History: Gets into fights frequently despite his small size, so his face is rather smashed and mangled. Shirayuki still thinks he’s lovely.
Hoard: Insults and colorful stones
Writers/Artists:
Zen’s
Tumblr media
Color: White
Size: 3 feet tall
Age: 800 years
Personality: Dopey and friendly. Drools a lot. Excitable. Runs around the castle knocking things over and making a nuisance of himself. Taught Zen how to climb the castle walls. Probably snores. And chases his tail, among other things.
History:
Hoard: Feathers and leaves
Writers/Artists:
Obi’s
Tumblr media
Color: Yellow
Size: Pocket (12-15 inches long). No wings.
Age: 537
Personality: Flirtatious and clever but also kind of grumpy. Holds grudges over little things and likes to tease. Once hid inside Obi’s pants while Obi was sleeping because she was cold but Obi’s reaction in the morning was so hilarious she does it just to mess with him now.
History: A huge influence on the development of Obi’s personality - he used to be sullen and quiet but she was so annoying he had to learn to retaliate.
Hoard: Scarves (they’re warm.)
Writers/Artists:
Ryuu’s
Tumblr media
(After growth spurt)
Tumblr media
Color: Green, furred.
Size: Still growing.
Age: 84 (developmentally the same age as Ryuu)
Personality: Venomous.
History:
Hoard:
Writers/Artists:
Mitsuhide’s
Tumblr media
Color: Dark blue
Size: 6 feet tall
Age: 871
Personality: Lazy. Very lazy. Sleeps everywhere on anything all the time. Is very strong and helpful but you have to get him up first. Rests his head on Mitsuhide’s shoulder when he’s awake and gives headbutts as a sign of his affection.
History:
Hoard: Sunny, cozy alcoves and rocks
Writers/Artists:
Kiki’s
Tumblr media
Color: Iridescent purple and blue
Size: 10 feet tall
Age: 2,332
Personality: Regal, pompous, vain. A beautiful dragon and he knows it but secretly angry about his “smaller” size. Thinks dragons like Izana’s are “excessively large,” and is quite vocal about it. Likes Kiki because she is strong and beautiful and doesn’t take crap from anyone but that’s where their similarities end.
History:
Hoard: Reflective surfaces (constantly hounding Kiki to pull out her sword so he can make sure there’s nothing stuck in his teeth).
Writers/Artists:
Izana’s
Tumblr media
Color: White
Size: 30 feet tall
Age: Unknown
Personality: Ancient and wise, but secretive. Arrogant, disdainful, cold. Has little tolerance for younger dragons. Doesn’t care for weak and stupid people, either, but he finds them amusing all the same. Izana ends up becoming a rare exception; the young King is clever enough to appeal to this dragon’s interests and he ends up begrudgingly fond and protective of Izana after a few years.
History:
Hoard: Clarines kingdom (is the companion of the king or the king’s heir exclusively).
Writers/Artists:
Zakura’s
Tumblr media
Color: Black
Size: 12 feet tall
Age: 942

Haruka’s

Size: 8 feet tall
Age: 2,800
Personality: Prideful and inquisitive. Spends a lot of his time reading or traveling.
History:  Is a companion to Haruka’s family more than Lord Haruka himself, and is the biggest reasons for their wealth and standing in Clarines.
Hoard: Books and maps.

Garrack’s
Color: Red  Size: Age: Personality: History: Hoard: Writers/Arists:
Yuzuri’s

History:
Hoard:
Writers/Artists:
Suzu’s
Tumblr media
Color: Yellow
Size: 2 feet long
Age: 250
Personality: Relaxed and lazy but very curious. Likes to lay on Suzu’s head or shoulder and read along with him while Suzu researches and asks a lot of questions until falling asleep again. Drives Yuzuri’s dragon crazy by napping on her neck just high enough that she can’t reach to nip his tail.
History:
Hoard: Pencils and pin cushions (the latter makes excellent pillows)
Writers/Artists:
Shidan’s
Tumblr media
Color: Brown
Size: 8 inches
Age: 1,863
Personality: Dead without the canonverse’s version of coffee. Cranky and prickly and critical but secretly fond of almost everyone.
History:
Hoard: Coffee. All the coffee.
Writers/Artists:
Lata’s
Tumblr media
Color: Black.
Size: 3 inches
Age: 5
Personality: Cheerful and curious and playful. Still just a baby.
History: Lata had never had a dragon companion before. He happened to be out in a cave hunting for stones when he stumbled across a hatching dragon. She took a liking to him despite his panicked protests that he has no idea how to take care of a baby. He does a great job not matter how much he complains and she absolutely adores him.
Hoard: Fruits and berries. She hasn’t figured out yet why they keep disappearing (Lata eats them before they go bad).

Color: Grey
Size: 12 feet tall
Age: 1,442
Personality: Quiet and serious. Contemplative. Likes to sit outside and watch nature, watch the sun and moon and stars cross the sky, the water flow in the river, the birds and creatures go about their days. Patient and stubborn as stone.

Writers/Arists:
Kazuki’s 1st

Kazuki’s 2nd
Tumblr media
Color: Brownish green.
Size: 24 inches long
Age: 23
Personality: Cheerful. Kinda dopey. Very clumsy. Basically a fearless but accident-prone little kid who wind Kazuki over by being ridiculously chirpy and lighthearted and giving Kazuki’s concerned and protective spirit one too many heart attacks by walking obliviously into danger.

Writers/Arists:
Shuuka’s
Tumblr media
Color: Black
Size: 15 inches
Age: 72
Personality: Rambunctious and curious. Explores in the walls and crevices of the fort and eats the mice and rats. Hangs upside-down from the rafters to sleep. Likes to roll around and bat at people’s feet while they’re trying to walk. Basically a cat, but cuter.
History:
Hoard: Arrowheads. Two (2) mice or one (1) rat can be traded for one intact arrowhead, should the need arise.
Writers/Arists:
Shiira’s
Tumblr media
Color: Orange
Size: 4 inches
Age: 608
Personality: A total moron. Look at that face, c’mon. He likes to climb trees and eat fruit. He screeches extremely loud with a raspy, grating tone to get Shiira’s attention, which he absolutely loathes, and gnaws on literally everything. And then just when Shiira is ready to wring his neck, he falls asleep on Shiira’s lap curled up in a tiny ball and snuffling/nuzzling at Shiira’s belly.
History:
Hoard: He seems to think every chair and bed in existence belongs to him. You got up to go get a drink? Too bad, he stole it. You want to go to sleep? Well, looks like he’s camped out right in the center and how could you possibly stand to wake something that adorable?

Hello! I saw that you were taking requests for IkeSen headcannons/fics, so I hope this isn't too much to ask, but what do think about female!Mitsuhide or any of the guys? What do you think they'd be like if they were girls instead?
ikesen requests are open!
oh my goodness so i only did the oda forces sinc those are the ones i know well enough to write with confidence sdlkfjdlkfj but this was so fun thank you! i pictured a female mc for this, but it could definitely be easily changeable ;;
nobunaga
she’s super gorgeous, has the same seductive qualities as male nobunaga ;; curvy, tall, and statuesque with these eyes that just smolder at you
when you first meet her you’re a little confused because …… this is the great warlord (warlady?) nobunaga?? the one from the history books?
you imagined a woman who didn’t look like. as hot as her honestly
and when she presses you against the wall in the famous Using Your Lips as a Cup scene
well that’s when you’re done for. you can feel every curve of her body and her voice is low and sultry, and her eyes light up in a grin when you swallow the sake
when she comes home from a fight one day you’re really shaken;; she just wrings the blood out of her long hair and her eyes are cold
but getting to know her is something amazing (i mean it is no matter what gender nobunaga is :’)). games of go are filled with tension as her eyes slip into focus and her slender fingers rub the pieces between them, and she bites her lip while she thinks of her next move
she knows exactly where to touch as well oop
when she kisses you she brings your hand to her breast, just above her heart and holds it there, and you can feel her relax in your arms and lean in to the kiss
she likes to sit with her back against the headboard and pulls you in close between her legs with your back to her chest, stroking your hair almost in the way someone would stroke a pet and nipping at the junction of your neck and shoulder. the tops of her kimono are falling off her shoulders so you can turn around and kiss the skin there, making her shiver, and the ends of her kimono pool up around her legs so you can rub at her thighs
she’s so hot gdi
mitsuhide
like nobunaga, she’s got the same slinkiness about her, but stands taller
when she looks at you from her vantage point, she tilts her head and regards you through half-lidded eyes with this infuriating smirk that’s probably painted in blood-red lipstick
and this woman clearly thinks she’s better than you but she’s so attractive dammit you want to deck her
her hair is either super long and flowing, or it’s pin-straight and cut blunt, longer in the front than it is in the back you pick
you know that tumblr post about being hot enough to make people question their sexuality?
yeah that’s mitsuhide
and she knows it too
which means she literally never stops teasing you and watching how flustered you get
probably the kind of person who flaunts her assets to get what she wants out of prisoners and shit
she bleeds sensuality honestly, and it has you so shook because gorgeous snow-haired woman? paying attention to my me? it’s more likely than you think.
she has these really long, sharp nails and she likes to run them across your thighs, tapping her fingers along the way
and when she undresses you she does it verrrryyy slowly and deliberately—
she begins at your throat and traces her way down to your bellybutton, down between your cleavage, opening your kimono just a little;
then back up to your mouth where she caresses your lips with a smirk, then comes back down
and she continues until you’re moaning for her just to take me already dammit, we haven’t even gotten started and u just undressing me has me so sh00k
masamune
WONDER WOMAN
okay not actually wonder woman but build-wise, she’s lean and muscular and proud of it
she ties her brown hair back into a braid that’s long enough for her to tuck into her belt, and you can see mischief playing in that bright eye
you see her playing with her sword one day, and when she catches you watching, she grins at you and bites her lip
well that’s it you’re done for
she’s actually a little short compared to the others, which makes her fighting style even more ferocious and calculated as she’s got the speed and slipperiness that they don’t
the first time she kisses you you’re so shook
like maybe you haven’t even kissed a girl before (or if you have, definitely not one as attractive as masamune)
and she flirts with you even more than she already did after that because gotdamn you’re So Attracted to her
the first time you go horseback riding with her you’re so shaken; she pulls you close and you can feel the hard muscle of her body against your back as her throaty laughter rings out in your ears
not many women are allowed to have such a high military position, she explains, and she had to prove herself time and time again and you can tell by the way she so clearly enjoys her time with the troops and riding her horse that she was born for it
she was born to ride other things too
she’s a biter, and she leaves her mark up and down your body
definitely keeps her habit of calling you “kitten” and one day calls you a “good girl” in bed. automatic nut
anyways after a night of Fun you come into the common room without realizing how many bite marks you have up and down your body
hideyoshi bursts out laughing
masamune just smirks. you berate her for not telling you. she simply catches your finger between her teeth while you’re wagging it at her and winks at you, and you’ve gotta excuse the two of you for maybe an hour or the entire day
ieyasu
fighting smol
seriously like she’s even shorter than masamune
but she’s slender and literally looks like a doll she’s so pretty and porcelain, like you’d never expect her to be anyone scary
probably like 5′0″ and 100lbs, hair cut to shoulder-length (think the wavy windswept bob hairstyle in-game)
has a glare like ice honestly, and tbh her voice is probably pretty high pitched compared to the others ;;; probably the one to give off the ~cute~ image but lowkey wants to murder you in your sleep
when she’s practicing archery, she suddenly becomes someone imposing
and when she gives you that pair of earrings she scowls, but blushes anyway and she has really good taste in jewelry
so you buy her this beautiful necklace and she honestly turns beet red
“well…… i guess i have to take it since you spent money on it…… but i wish you didn’t buy me things as useless as jewelry”
you see her wearing it like everyday after that tho
but you take heed and instead commission mitsunari to design a practical bracelet that helps with archery (idk maybe it holds arrows or smthn so she doesn’t have to reach elsewhere to pick one out to nock?) and ieyasu is so shook she can even overlook the fact that mitsunari designed it
when she kisses you, she has to stand on her tiptoes and sling one arm around your neck to pull you down. in any other situation it would be cute because “omg she’s so short” but in this situation like… “wow ieyasu that’s really hot” with the confidence with which she brings you to her level
she’s really outright with what she wants in bed. “no i don’t like that” or “yes, that feels perfect” are common phrases you’ll hear
she pays special attention to bringing you to climax. her brow furrows as she focuses on touching you in all your sweet spots
mitsunari
Extremely Gorgeous Goddess Lady
long hair that falls in the most perfect waves, voluminous, straight out of a pantene commercial. lips that are a natural scarlet color like she’s just been sucking on a cherry popsicle. tall-ish, about your height, but not quite as tall as nobunaga and mitsuhide
you’re drawn in by her almost immediately because her eyes are clever and kind
that one girl who all the boys follow around, but she doesn’t know that;;; she thinks that they all want war advice
you become fast friends as she teaches you to play go before u realize,, Oh Shit, I’ve Fallen for Her!
she has a laugh like bells honestly. so good. so pure
you have tea with her all the time but she’s SO BAD at making tea and apologizes profusely when you nearly throw up since it tastes like gasoline?? um??
it’s fine, because you make her these delicious dumplings and sew her a pretty new kimono which quickly becomes her favorite. she wears it to all the important war councils which makes her even more of a stunner among men tbh
on that note……. during war councils she goes from soft angel to confident war woman…… her eyes take on this sure and calculating gleam and it’s so hot you can hardly keep your hands off her when the council is over
she loves to hold you in bed and stroke your hair— you both always find yourselves laughing together, and her skin feels so soft against yours
she’s really careful, always asking you what feels good, though she’s not afraid to experiment. her hair is soft and silky and you love to run your fingers through it while she kisses your neck
she alternates between big spoon and little spoon tbh. when she’s big spoon, her breath washes over the back of your neck while she sleeps and even the sound of it is so calming um wtf?
when she’s little spoon she rests her head on your shoulder and gently kisses along your jawline till you fall asleep
even when you become romantic partners, she stays your best friend and you can talk deep into the night
hideyoshi
MOM FRIEND ALERT!
she’s about the same height as you and mitsunari, so it’s pretty funny to watch her order around the likes of mitsuhide, one of the two Tols in the group
especially when she scolds him oop
her loyalty to nobunaga is something to be admired, because it’s passionate and devoted and she’s completely unashamed of it
she garners the attention of both men and women (and you)
like she makes people question their sexuality not for the same reasons as mitsuhide’s attractiveness, but rather because she’s confident and independent and women are often confused whether they wanna bang her or be her
it’s a little bit of both, at least for you
she doesn’t trust you initially and makes that clear, but you’re persistent
and as you get to know her you fall hard b/c if she were a modern woman, she’d be the Strong Independent One you hear about all the time who runs a business
she takes good care of you
you fall ill one day and she nurses you back to health,
“honestly, mc, i told you not to go out in the rain like that”
and she sighs, looking genuinely distressed, and you’re shook to the max
she stops by a lot to make sure you’re doing okay, and usually swings by and keeps you company, putting off this sure, steadfast aura that comforts you and makes you feel safe around her
she knows what she wants in bed and guides your hips to where she wants them to go
but she’s also gentle and patient and makes sure you climax as well
in the morning, you’ll wake up and see her smiling at you and all is well in the world :’)

Random!
Rules: Pick 15 people and randomize them here. Make a new post and fill in each section with the number corresponding to your results. Feel free to tag anyone!
I got tagged by @wonky-glass-ornament @cavern-of-bells and @dear-mrs-otome (see their hilarious results HERE, HERE, and HERE
1. Mom or Dad: Hideyoshi – Growing up with Hideyoshi means growing up ever so slightly paranoid. Sure, I get away with stuff, but, in the pits of my filthy soul I know he knows. Little things, like, the fact there’s a scarf stuck in the tree by my window that I sneak out from. Blown up there by the wind? Left behind by accident last time? I THINK NOT. That said, definitely a Fun!Dad but also a big believer in letting lessons be learned – though he gentles them where he can.
02. Sibling:  Mitsuhide – best big brother. He tries so hard to be a Good Example and is the one who Frowns when Hideyoshi is like sure sweetie you can have cheese for dinner because no you are growing you need vegetables too. Given our equally stubborn natures, for a long time I thought we’d never get along – but after finally watching him lose his cool in my defense, I realize we’re alike in every way. He is MY precious brother and if you try and hurt him I will come after you okay. Dinner table haiku competitions are a thing.
03. Grandma or Grandpa:  Kenshin – the most indulgent grandpa ever. Spoils me ABSOLUTELY ROTTEN. The sort of grandpa who is like “let’s go on a trip I found the loveliest place” and forgets that school starts on Monday so when we get back (on Thursday) there’s some ‘splaining to do.
04. Haunts you:  Ieyasu – NO BUT HE IS THE BEST GHOST EVER. He is such a BRATTY poltergeist. Never has anything nice to say AND YET, he’s reliable. I always know he’s going to be there and I can tell him about how awful my day was and he will tell me exactly why I’m being stupid for being upset over it and perversely it helps. He’s like having a housecat – Super Obviously Ignores Me if he feels slighted. He has been in a Mood since I got a boyfriend he does not in any way approve (not because he has standards for me or anything – he’s shocked anyone would date an idiot like me, of course, he’s just annoyed that I managed to find someone—in his words—even stupider than me to hang around)
05. Boyfriend or girlfriend:  Yukimura – d’aaaaw. I had to semi-trick him into asking for my number (I’m pretty sure Saizo knew exactly what I was doing, oops) but, hey. He still blushes adorably when I climb in his lap, but his arms are always open for me and I appreciate knowing that to the depths of my otherwise miserably unromantic shriveled little heart more than I can say <3
06. Your ex:  Inuchiyo – MY SWEET PRECIOUS PUPPY. It was too much like dating my brother. I mean not my actual brother, he and Mitsuhide are pretty different (though not as much as I once thought) but, I just couldn’t do it. He agreed it was weird, but his voice sounded a little high when he did…
07. Your best friend:  Tadakatsu - YESSSS my sweet, supportive, amazing bestie. This boy HAS MY BACK and he’s always there for a hug when I want one. I really want nothing more than to set him up with someone who will appreciate him for how wonderful and sweet and good he really is and take care of him in all senses of the word.
08. Proposed:  Umeko – SADLY we were both three sheets to the wind after commiserating over her last breakup when she grasped my hands with teary eyes and said that I would clearly be better for her than any of her exes.
09. Your boss: Nobunaga – oh lord. I get fired like once a week for screaming back in his face AND YET somehow the paperwork never actually gets filed and I am expected back in meetings the next day. An exhausting marathon of work with a sprinting pace. Wholly support his refusal to yield to the whims of a Board of Directors – he bought out the whole company himself, so he answers to no shareholder and no board, and, as HORRIFICALLY EXHAUSTING as he is to work for, and as much as he expects nigh impossibly high standards out of them, if you can skim those standards with your fingertips and hang the heck on, he is very good to his team.
10. A random person you meet at a bar: Masamune – he was quiet and didn’t look like he wanted to be bothered, but, we both had the same obscure cell phone charm character and I just couldn’t help gushing about it. He looked a little startled when I approached him, and he didn’t say much, but when he got up to leave he gave me a very small, very soft smile and I was ultimately glad we could chat, however briefly.
11. Your rival: Yuki – luckily she has a capricious sense of humor or my tush would be totally dead. As it is, one super embarrassing board meeting a la truth potions means that these days pretty much the only thing I drink anymore is water straight out a tap – surely she can’t spike that, right?! Is there some possible foe yay going on? Yes.
12. Gave you your first kiss: Saizo and boooooy nothing’s lived up since. It was an education. Literally – payment for educational services rendered was given in the form of dango and babysitting Yukimura for a few days. Completely worth it.
13. Drunk and singing karaoke with: Kojuro it was a bit of a mix-up – the room I reserved for a party got double-booked. Luckily, he is a gracious man, and Shigezane suggested we combine the two. Maybe a bit rowdier of a birthday than Masamune was used too, but even he smiled at how (adorably) off-key Kojuro can be. Everyone gets home safely, with taxi services paid for.
14. Played seven minutes in heaven with: Kotaro. Completely terrifying – luckily that’s kind of a thing for me? I don’t really mind if my thrill comes from good technique or, hey, fear for my life. I’ll take it. But I’ll still be a teensy bit relieved when the door flies open again, and with a vague smile I’m gonna dodge handing out my number.
15. Gave you your favorite dessert: Mitsunari. Not because he was thinking of me, and definitely not because he felt sorry for me or cared or ANYTHING STUPID LIKE THAT it’s just common sense that sugar can provide an energy boost (no he doesn’t care that I was feeling a little tired, he just needs me to get my work done because Hideyoshi will be more at ease if it is of course) just shut up and eat it and feel better okay.
I TAG UNNGH everyone do it, this is lovely. BUT. @quincette @belxsar @demonintheally @mollymare and @pseudofaux AND ANYONE ELSE WHO WANTS TO DO IT
It was honestly hard to just pick 15! So many good characters
