ALBERU DISTRESS ANXIETY RANT POST
This was supposed to be included in "My Takes on the Plot Board" post but this got so long it is in its own post. For background I am an overthinker when it comes to Alberu and Im currently having an anxiety crisis. You're about to see how true is that with this post.
(Spoilers part 2 ch100+ be warned)
---
Im very worried about Alberu. He's being mentioned several times on current chapter summaries but he's not on screen everytime, its so damn weird is it just only me?
Then now on the latest chapter (ch116) we get no updates. just. right. after. Cale recalls he hasnt contacted him yet.
Between the time gap something may already have been happening on the other side while Cale and co. is taking their time on Central Plains. It might be paranoia attacking me, still. Still. You might want to see this:
chapter 338 WS's debut.
Sounds familiar? Is it just me or is the last part is getting more real? Okay, my paranoia might be attacking again.
But look at the plot board I made, have you noticed something?
There's almost nothing in between compared to others! It must be a big deal. Alberu is in DIRECT HIT with the Hunters! Imagine the Hunter's position. They also caused a fierce onslaught on Roan Kingdom for his mom's death to be a simple accident!
Do you also see how there's a lot of involvement centering Zed? I can think of 4 possibilities for him to get that much attention from the Hunters.
Zed's relation with the Thames
Ancient White Star ancestry which is possibly the White Blood
His former-wife
Unknown possibility
While one seems okay, it definitely looks like most of them will impact Alberu more than we hope for.
There is just no way Alberu would leave unscathe from all of this. There are much more-than-should-be arrows and red flags pointing at Alberu FOR ME TO BE CALM. AaaaAAAAA-
If... if he turns out fine, I will be perfectly okay. I just need to put all my anxiety in one place and to be done with it. Heck I wish all this turns out not to be validated
I just...dont have the confidence that absolutely nothing will happen to him.
Oh another thing. Cale hasnt fainted on their side yet.

Some resources about Baldr and his mythology!
Note: given that references to Baldr are generally pretty scarce, a lot of the information in these sources may be repeated, but I still think it’s good to go through them + their bibliographies (I made sure to include sites that had sources so you could look through them, too)!
World History Encyclopedia: Baldr
A pretty thorough discussion of Baldr, including his family, name (and how it’s meaning has been debated over time), and the different mythologies (including the Danish version which depicts him more as a warrior). Also discusses views for and against Baldr as the “dying & reviving god”, as well as connections/similarities with deities from other pantheons.
Mythopedia: Baldur
This one’s more of a brief overview, but a great intro nonetheless! I also like the UX design of the site and how you can easily click through to get brief overviews of the Norse pantheon.
Norse Mythology for Smart People: Baldur
Overview of Baldr and his etymology with a retelling of the story of his death and a brief discussion about his association with war and references to him in other sources (aside from the Eddas).

someone probably said this already but in spiderverse i think it's interesting how when pavitr was first introduced everyone thought something bad was gonna happen to him bc of how confident and optimistic he was. and then in the actual movie we see that something bad was supposed to happen to him (police chief dying!) but it doesn't! miles stops it! and miguel berates miles for this, says it's going to cause the universe to collapse or whatever.
there's this idea that tragedy is inherent to spidermans growth, and while it's true that some spiderpeople learn important lessons through loss, no one stops to ask, is it really necessary? yeah, maybe the chief was supposed to die. but why does spiderman have to be formed through tragedy? why do we (as heroes) have to let people die? pavitr didn't lose anyone, and he's still a good spiderman! maybe, if he doesn't suffer, he'll end up better off for it!
so while miguel is arguing for all this big picture stuff about saving the multiverse he's lost sight of what it really means to be a spiderman, he's not looking out for the real individual people. yeah it's just one person who would die, but that one person means something to someone. shrugging and saying "stuff just sucks sometimes, we can't do anything about it" is the opposite of what superheroes do. pretty obviously, miles arc is also a reflection of the struggles people face in real life, working within unequal systems, where it's easy to shrug and say "that's just the way it is" and not ask "but why does it need be this way? can't we do something about it?"
miguel is arguing that you can't have your cake and eat it too. presumably, miles and co. are going to find a way to get around that and change things for the better (and maybe that's why miles has that line about two cakes in the advisors office!)
