been lingering in tumblr for epex content and so glad to find you<3 thank you for writing!
was wondering what would epex be as hogwarts students and their houses 🐣
thank you for requesting, sweetheart!!! i haven't been consistent with my posting, but i'm hoping to push out a lot of content this summer. yay!!! feeding the small community of epex ff readers heheh.
epex and their hogwarts houses
my first post in 300 years im so sorry <3
Gryffindor
amin: lonely, lovely minwoo has no other gryffindor friends :( kidding. he's kind of a social butterfly. he is so popular among the other 5th year students. even some 7th year girls have taken notice of him. everyone in his family has belonged to house gryffindor, he was so proud to follow that legacy. he is so interested in muggles! he spends his afternoons leading the muggle arts club and telling donghyun what to do. he's taken quite a liking to the hufflepuff and they're rarely seen without each other these days! bonus: his patronus is a sparrow.
Slytherin
wish: dawit is a natural born leader. he followed the path of his parents, earning a spot in house slytherin. he had an ongoing public rivalry with his older sister in house hufflepuff. after she graduated, he was left to find an identity not related to his family. he earned a spot on the quidditch team and made quite a name for himself. now that he's a 7th year, he's a bit upset to be inevitably leaving his team. bonus: his patronus is an aardvark. he was irate when he discovered this.
mu: this friend was not expecting to find himself dressed in green. he always thought yellow was more of his color. for 3 years, kyungmin questioned how this could possibly be his house placement. during 3rd year, he was able to connect with professors and share his doubts. they taught him what it meant to belong to house slytherin. now in his 5th year at hogwarts, kyungmin couldn't be happier with his situation. dawit is his bestie and they love going to hogsmeade together! bonus: his patronus is a basset hound.
baekseung: there isn't a more slytherin-y slitherin to exist. 4th year hyunwoo prefers to keep to himself. when he is seen with someone, it's usually jeff, dawit, yewang, or minwoo. keeping his circle small is hard work. everyone he comes across wants to be his friend. he has spent the past 3 years creating his cool reputation. everyone is eager to see who he will take to the dance next semester. bonus: his patronus is a beagle. he tells everyone he hates it but he love love loves it.
jeff: every short girl has to have a tall best friend. that's what hyunwoo is to jaeho. these two 4th year kids complement each other so well. this term is jaeho's sister's first year at hogwarts. he's spent countless hours making sure his little sister meets the right people, goes to the right places, and has what she needs. such a good big brother :). jaeho got the opportunity to join the frog choir this year. he LOVES it. he also loves getting to taught hyunwoo with frogs. bonus: his patronus is a manx cat.
Hufflepuff
keum: you definitely have a mutual friend with donghyun. he is such a social butterfly. he's friends with all of the other hufflepuffs and friendly enough with kids in other houses. his time in house hufflepuff didn't start out so smoothly. everyone in donghyun's family has been sorted into house gryffindor. at first, he was resentful for being a hufflepuff. over time, he was able to create his own meaning for being sorted into houses. now a 6th year, donghyun is super happy to be where he is. he has lots of friends in gryffindor, like minwoo! he even joined his muggle arts club as the secretary. bonus: his patronus is a tigress.
Ravenclaw
ayden: 4th year's class clown. yejun always has something smart to say, and people love him for it. he and yewang are constantly playing pranks. older ravenclaw students are constantly scolding them. they're always surprised to see the frog in their slipper the next morning. he's on the quidditch team with some of the other boys. it's helped him stay out of trouble this year. yejun is the kid who you always run into in the halls. it's like he's in two places at once. this year, his sister has started to crack down on his antics. she's graduating this year and is worried what yejun will act like when she's gone. yejun wants to set her up with dawit to get her off his back. bonus: his patronus is a hedgehog.
yewang: 4th year's second class clown. he and yejun are two peas from the same pod. they share their love for mischief, flying, and attention. yewang and yejun's dynamic has changed a bit their term. the girls are starting to take notice to yewang. when did he get to be so tall? you can typically find him in the library with a different girl looking for his attention each week. his parents have started to take notice of his report cards. they're looking for higher marks at the end of the semester. yewang has struggled to balance relationships, studying, sports, and fun. it's hard being 15. bonus: his patronus is an eagle.

What is GTE Technology & How Can I invest in Gte Technology
Tumblr media
Do you want to know about “What is GTE Technology” and “How Can I invest in Gte Technology“.So today we will discuss about this in details.
What is GTE Technology
Global Token Exchange is mainly based around technological advances, as are other strategies introduced by Jeff Brown.
This new investment strategy allows the users to have a safe platform through which they can trade their digital tokens for various assets.
The concept is very similar to the cryptocurrency in use, this is easy to understand by most digital users.
Recently, there has been skepticism about the true nature of the Global Token Exchange. People are confused as to whether the increasingly popular GTE is legit or a mere scam.
How can I invest in GTE?
Find a reliable broker. Don’t worry, it’s easy and free to open a brokerage account. …
Fund your new account. You’ll need to transfer money into your new brokerage account before you can buy the stock. …
Search for GTE on the brokerage app or site. …
Buy the stock
Is GTE A Good investment?
(NYSE:GTE) has seen a decrease in hedge fund sentiment of late. Gran Tierra Energy Inc. (NYSE:GTE) was in 6 hedge funds’ portfolios at the end of March. The all time high for this statistic is 22. Our calculations also showed that GTE isn’t among the 30 most popular stocks among hedge funds (click for Q1 rankings).
In the financial world there are a large number of tools investors have at their disposal to grade stocks. A pair of the most under-the-radar tools are hedge fund and insider trading indicators. We have shown that, historically, those who follow the top picks of the best fund managers can outperform the broader indices by a solid amount. Insider Monkey’s monthly stock picks returned 206.8% since March 2017 and outperformed the S&P 500 ETFs by more than 115 percentage points (see the details here). That’s why we believe hedge fund sentiment is a useful indicator that investors should pay attention to.
What is Jeff Brown’s GTE?
According to Jeff Brown, whom we have been following for years and have highly profited from, there is something called “G.T.E. Technology” which will unlock the potential of the $2.1 Quadrillion opportunity that he is calling “The World IPO Day.“
Brown has proven to be a reliable technology investor and advisor.
Note that Brown isn’t predicting 20,000 IPOs in a year (the current record is 547 back in 1999), but in a single day, and saying it could repeat each and every day as there is a major shift occurring in the global markets, which will make IPOs easier to launch.
What is GTE economy?
A Generalized Taylor Economy (GTE) is one where there are many sectors: within each sector there are contracts of a particular duration, and these operate according to Taylor’s (1980) staggered contracts model. So, if the longest duration of contracts is FF periods, there will be up to F sectors i=1…Fi=1…F. In sectorii, all contracts (price-spells) last for ii periods, and each period a proportion of 1i1i prices will be reset. The share of each sector is αi≥0αi≥0, with ∑i=1…Fαi=1∑i=1…Fαi=1
A simple Taylor economy is simply one where only one sector has a strictly positive share of the prices: αF=1αF=1. For example, in a Taylor 2 economy: α1=0,α2=1α1=0,α2=1. In a GTE, there are many sectors with strictly positive shares. We can think of these “sectors” as duration sectors. For example, a firm might set a price for one period and then for four periods. This firm would then move between the i=1i=1 sector and the i=4i=4 sector. The key point is the Taylor assumption that when they set their price, firms know how long it is going to last.
The great advantage of the GTE is that the sector shares can be chosen to reflect any possible distribution of durations: indeed, it can be exactly calibrated to match the empirical distribution. Furthermore, when it is plugged into a macroeconomic model it also gives nice inflation dynamics, particularly for inflation: the response of inflation to monetary policy follows a nice hump shape. Hence the GTE provides a way of getting good dynamics that is consistent with the microdata on prices and/or wages. This contrasts with many existing models which are either inconsistent with the microdata on prices or do not give nice inflation dynamics.
The appropriate distribution corresponding to the GTE is derived in general by Dixon (2012), and earlier versions.   My own inspiration for starting research on the GTE was the following quote from John Taylor (which Engin Kara and I put at the start of our first paper on the GTE).
Theres a leasing company with this name of VW cars, but since its written in majuscule, for me it doesn’t exists or is a fake,
Is gte technology legit
The number of victims of Investment scams in the WORLD is growing but it’s almost impossible to know the exact amount because only 14% of scam victims ever report the scam. Of that number, most are trying to recover their money but many never try either because they are embarrassed, don’t believe they can get their money back, or simply don’t know what to do. If you are the victim of a scam there are steps you can take to not only report the scam, but to potentially recover your losses. Your ability to recover anything is dependent on you? recoverycenter147@gmail dot com will recover back your funds for you from scammer.
It’s perfectly normal to feel distraught and hopeless after you lose money to scammers, but the sooner you take action, the better your chances are of recovering at least some of your money. If you’ve fallen victim to a scam, make sure to report it to the appropriate agencies, then don’t hesitate to contact recoverycenter147@gmail dot com to start reviewing your case as soon as possible and see what further actions they will take to mitigate your losses.

Writing Tag Game
thank you @acenancy for tagging me, i feel super special!
20 questions, writer’s edition.
How many works do you have on AO3?
9
What’s your total AO3 word count?
only 7,133. which isn't a lot but i'm looking to improve!
How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
my page says 5 due to tags, but technically 3. Nancy Drew, IT (2017), and MCU (Falcon and Winter Soldier).
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
almost slipping through the palms of my sweaty hands, bucky/reader, mcu
this hope is treacherous, ace/nancy, nancy drew
we keep this love in a photograph, ace/nancy, nancy drew
never alone, ace/nancy, nancy drew
vermillion, richie/stan, IT
Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
I always try to. I have never found myself to be a good writer, so when someone comments I feel like I can actually write. Sure, there is always room for improvement, but the comments I get make this all worth it. I used to get comments on my old FF account telling me some not so nice things, so this is a nice change of pace.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Vermillion has the most awful, saddest ending. I was coping with a lot and I super projected. For my Nancy Drew fans, i tortured them and wrote a fic based off champagne problems for ace/nancy. a lot of people were sad. i don't know WHY i wrote it, when i love the couple, but it just came to me.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
this hope is treacherous has the happiest ending by far. if you want mushy happy, you rid me of the blues is the HAPPIEST.
Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you’ve written?
Once, a long while ago, in a word document. We don't talk about it.
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Like I said, my old FF account. It was bad and most people saw the opportunity to rip on the writing or to rip on me. But everyone on AO3 has been super nice so far.
Do you write smut? If so what kind?
I don't think I would know where to begin. I honestly and truly think I would start crying if I even typed it out and then would pray to anyone up there that my mom would never find it. But I am an active member of the reading of it.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
If I HAVE, then good LORD whoever stole must've been down bad.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Once! In a word document (:
What’s your all time favorite ship?
...I'm not going to say that it's Mayu/Morishige from CoPa or tbh even Duncan/Courtney from TDI (listen...that was my first fandom and I will fight EVERYONE.) But I can't really pick a favorite? I go back and forth. Make some pinterest boards. Currently I'm into Ace/Nancy, Jess/Nick (New Girl), and since I started Community, Annie/Jeff.
What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
It was deleted off the face of my AO3, but I had an angel!Stan au that I was writing for my old IT tumblr. It was my baby, but ultimately I wasn't in the headspace I was when I created that or the other fic I abandoned and then deleted. They were based off irl things that I projected and inserted into a fic, but things got better and that didn't make for good fic.
What are your writing strengths?
Most comments say I write very lyrically, which I'm assuming is that the writing flows well and sounds pretty.
What are your writing weaknesses?
ALL of my writing is so short. The longest I wrote was THIT and it took me 2 1/2 days to make it longer because I wanted it to work. I also repeat words a lot, which I read back and cringe.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
Taking Mar's lead, with NOT WANTING TO BUTCHER ANOTHER LANGUAGE. But, if a character speaks another language, I'll try to slip maybe ONE WORD (especially if it's a romance fic and it's a term of endearment). But I've seen things go sideways like that and sometimes maybe terms of endearment are just better left in english OR unsaid. (The plethora of "doll", "sweetheart", "honey", etc in Bucky/reader fics takes a toll on a woman sometimes.)
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
I wanna say it was Total Drama. If you count roleplay, where I set the scene very intensely, like almost five paragraphs long. I don't think I ever wrote fic, but I possibly did. My first FF writings were for Free! Iwatobi Swim Club and Corpse Party.
What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
I can't choose. But honestly, I think the first Nace fic I wrote is my favorite right now. It was based off a tumblr text post and everyone thought it was great. It makes me happy and it spurred me into doing something I forgot I loved. It helped me find a small community of friends.
Tagging those who write, if you see it! So all of you who write, if you see this, DO IT! Only if you want to. No pressure.

Where do YOU think the main tw characters would be today? (LOL can't believe this man wrote the show n can't think of anything to say about the characters🤡 )
Tumblr media
omg this gif is so perfect for your ask slkjdklfhkjghfkjdh OKAY SO. i will answer this 2 ways- first, the way i think it /actually/ would play out, and second, the way i would WANT it to continue. okay here we go. firstly, i think i kinda agree with jeff in the way that scott is just so fcukin selfless that even though he would REALLY want to take a break from saving the world, i don’t think he could do it for longer than a few months at a time. i totally see him travelling around helping and advising packs, trying to make/keep peace between the supernatural communities and the humans around them. i don’t know if any of that would have been a path for him though had 6b not happened. he was definitely on his way to vet school :( i think stiles woulda finished studying at quantico but finally just accepted the fact that he can’t manipulate all authority the way he’s used to so he just says fuck it and comes back to beacon hills and scott and the pack. i think maybe he’d work one or two years for the bureau, but just to make some connections, cuz i see him working with scott as his emissary for the rest of his damn days and maybe doing some private detective work on the side for fun (a la psych). lydia will definitely do as much school as she possibly can. tack on all those acronyms to her name until she’s sick of typing it out every time she signs some official document. she’s the head of a science or medical department somewhere doing cutting edge research which she puts on hold to find a cure for covid while also making incredibly stylish masks that she donates to charity. malia is gonna try one semester at college cuz scott makes it look fun when she goes to visit him at UC davis, but she drops out when she realizes there’s just too much writing involved and she’d rather be running through the woods on all fours. i think she’d have the most fun in her 20s- trying everything she’s got time for just to see how it makes her brain and body feel. malia continues to search for self control and independence, eventually going off to some adventure (possibly finding kira or isaac along the way ;) i see kira coming back to beacon hills eventually. maybe in 900 years :( those skinwalkers were fucken serious dude, and she just.. went with them. ok. i’m sad about liam and hayden. they deserved closure. i think he absolutely went to look for her once things were “handled” with monroe and scott had everything under control. he and hayden stayed strong for awhile but eventually they break up. mason? absolutely beacon hills’ #1 resource for the supernatural and also the town’s/county’s history because mason just DEVOURED the rest of the libraries in town and knows absolutely everything. he studies with deaton and works at the local college but is writing a book that’s gonna be a huge bestseller. derek and chris are working together with scott and stiles to help other wolf packs on the west coast and beyond, organizing meetings and resources in the struggle against monroe and people like her. the way the series was left it’s like... they kinda have to do that? for awhile? derek and chris are the muscle- both in size/age and in memory.. like.. big. scott counts on them to validate his decisions. it’ll be like that until things calm down. i see melissa living with chris for awhile and then retiring from the hospital in like, her 80s, but she never leaves beacon hills and the house she raised her son in. chris moves in, of course. they grow old together. the sheriff retires and becomes a ladies man at the local pub XD as for relationships hmmm... stydia breaks up eventually, because distance and stiles can’t keep it in his pants (even though he’ll always love her just as deeply as he always has). they remain close tho because the pack will always stay together. malia and scott date for a long while but she leaves to find herself and they don’t get back together. at some point i see stalia happening again (somewhere in their 20s) but then they realize they’re too different now after being apart for so long and that ends too. i don’t think any ships would make it in the real world if i’m being honest with the way these characters were written. i think scott needs someone much more like kira (but she’s gone ffs), and like his mom. selfless but soft. and passionate. okay, so. the way i WANT their future to look? let’s try this. stiles goes to the academy, does the whole thing but can’t take an assignment because after he visits scott at uc davis a few times he realizes he’s in love with his best friend and absolutely MUST move back home ASAP screw this fbi crap. so scott becomes a vet and apprentices with deaton (duh), eventually taking over the clinic when deaton’s ready to retire. stiles works for his dad and the department part time, helping them out the way he always has only this time legally. he also helps scott at the clinic and studies with deaton and mason on weekends. lydia becomes a professor and a writer and after a number of years jet setting (not on a jet- just for lack of a better term) to promote her best sellers decides it’s time to settle back down in california and be with the people who truly love and understand her. she and stiles get close again and she helps him choose the ring and plan his proposal to scott. kira comes back after a few years but luckily scott and malia have already amicably split ... so she and malia bond over their ex alpha boyfriend and end up WHOOPS falling for each other all over again. well look, i guess my endgame is sciles, malira, and lydia x brains. also i want melissa x chris x sheriff all living together like a buncha cranky alter kakers complaining about the humidity in their rocking chairs while sciles brings them macaroni salad for their weekly sunday brunch.

Dan Watches: Star Wars: Episode II - Attack Of The Clones
Alright so I did this for Episode I which you can find here. So.. here’s my weird.. live reaction/note taking/whatever this is.. to Episode ll.
Alright so.. Once again the opening crawl is very politicy.
Count Dooku I think is mentioned for the first time in it and Padme becomes a Senator instead of a Queen in it.. which.. is weird.
The Naboo ships im not sure about.. I like the design but they seem too new and clean for being a prequel. That said they are owned by royalty so i can let it slide i guess.
“I guess i was wrong, there was no danger at all” *EXPLOSION* ffs Jeff, you couldn’t keep your mouth shut?
Nooooooo! Not.. Cordey? Omfg that was the worst death i’ve ever seen. Terribly acted.
Ayy it’s the Jedi avengers, no but like why is like i presume the whole or half the jedi council in this meeting? Shouldn’t they have like 1 representative?
Yooo thats live action Barriss Offee in the back... hey girrrll ;)
actually she’s probably supposed to be like 13 or somehting so i take that back.
I love just all the traffic flying by the window
YOOOO it’s my boy Jar Jar aka Darth Plagueis the Wise, don’t @ me.
Spice mines on the moon of Naboo you say? Isn’t Spice a drug but you mine for it.. there are drug miners in Star Wars.. good stuff.
That elevator would be terrifying.
Obiwan just like.. LOL I fell into a nest of Gundarks.. what a character I am. .. Love him.
Anakin like “I haven’t seen her since i was underaged master.. now i can  get my fuck on!”
ALSO ITS BEEN 10 YEARS!?
“Ani you’ll always be that little boy” *Police sirens*
Anakins a little bitch
I think Jar Jar’s ears things are much longer.. but might just be me imagining things.
She’s not forgotten you, she said your name.. you creep.
Heeyy look it’s your custom star wars character Zam.
Obiwan is so sassy
Anakin is pretty creepy towards Padme.
Those worm things are naasty
Yo tbf that was some smooth lightsabering, they were like an inch tall and right up on Padme and he didnt even hurt her accidentally. I’d have killed her there.
Obiwan just fucking dives out the window like its nothing. Mad man.
Zam is the worst, instead of shooting Obiwan she shoots her own damn droid.
Damn it Anakin, he’s told you to stay away from power couplings.
Obiwan is just gonna be like “FFS ANAKIN!” this entire movie... well.. Saga.
I wonder how Jedi pick their robes because like some are very similar and then theres like a few that have darker leather stuff, it’s like there’s a jedi stylist or something.. Someone make that OC.
 Amazing catch Obi.
So Obiwan is his real name but he goes by Ben later on and then Ben Solo is named after him but shouldn’t it be Obiwan Solo?
A changeling, she really is a custom character.
Yoo that Twilek wasn’t stupidly thin, I’m here for Thicc Twilek.
What species is Death Stick guy! I wanna know what he does with his life after he rethinks it
I hope it backfires and he’s like “Hey.. I could be doing so much more” and he ends up like the head of a crime family.
She didnt even change.. so much for changeling.
....she did when she died i take it back.
Damn the background Jedi are ugly.
I like how this shows that Palpatine has already begun manipulating Anakin.
Still dont understand why Jedi see the balance being a good thing when it’s leaning heavily towards the light side right now.
Anakin “IM READY FOR THE TRIALS!” .. you aint. You a moody bitch.
I like Padme’s dress.
Anakin just got warned to back down because he’s being a creep.
Omfg whats that rape face.
Dormy or whatever her name is, better actress than Padme.
Poncho! Cal approves.
WOO ITS DEX!
Jawa Juice? Ew.
Wtf is the Rishi maze?
Dex suddenly went sinister at the end, why?
Yess the librarian! She’s the best. I think she has a badass Order 66 story if im remembering correctly.
She’s very sure about her records though.. calm down lady.
“No droids” says the droid to the other droid.
So i presume the head of the Jedi Council is always the one who looks after the younglings.
Awwh the little babies and they’re all gonna get killed by Creep Vader.
Yoda is so soft, good dad figure. Best boy.
They elect queens on Naboo.. thats interesting.
I love the Jedi fighter look.
HOLD THE FUCK UP THEY DIDNT KNOW ABOUT KAMINO
THERE WAS A FUCKING LONG NECKY ALIEN ON THE JEDI COUNCIL IN EP 1..
.... some bullshit.
I should really look into Sifo Dyas
And Why are there not more Clones in Star Wars...
Other than like.. .. spoilers for.. you know what nevermind.
I DONT LIKE SAND! HE SAID THE THING
Anakin you creep
Why the fuck would Padme even lean in at all? He’s been nothing but a creep and she’s shown 0 interest in him at all so far.
The Camino people are pretty chill.
That was the first bit of actual chemistry between Padme and Anakin
Omfg the pear, fuck off.
Also forgot to comment but theres some clear like.. oohhhhhh moments im having with how order 66 got set up.
Has Padme had an outfit change again?
She’s got her sexy outfit on to turn him down.. seems right.
Her make up is a bit.. much
Sooo the force is weaker with the jedi because the light sides had it so good for so long that the force is trying to balance out and bring it back the other way, makes sense.
It’s actually his connection to his mom that brings him towards the darkside to start.. nice.
Padme trying to be inconspicuous is super conspicuous
I like that the droid said okey dokey.
YAAAAAAAAAAAAY WATTO
YAAAAY ANI SPEAKING HUTTESE
I love how Watto is happy to see Ani.
Watto doesn’t deserve the shitty life he ended up with.
Love some New Zealander up in my Star Wars.
Seismic charges have such good sound design.
Thats one hell of a missile.
Eyyyyy it’s c3p0 it’s amazing how much i’d forgot of this.
Tusken Raiders are dicks. They know sign language but they’re dicks.
Even Anakin is like “These are good people”, good. They’ll raise your son.
Is that general grevious’ voice?
What the fuck are these aliens
Awwwh noooo she waited just to die in her sons arms.
Tbf i’d go full darkside if someone tortured my mom.
You know what.. this Ani is nothing like the ones from the cartoon, he seems like less of a whiney bitch in the clone wars but we’ll see..
Cleg Lars’ hover chair is pretty dope.
Anakin got over hating Obi Wan real quick.
Even captured Obiwan is a sassy boy.
Jar Jar as badass as he is.. is basically putting the Sith Lord in charge.
So far if you dont know that palpatine is the Sith there isnt really anything obvious telling you which is pretty interesting.
Padme has had another outfit change, another iconic look.
And so behind the adventures of r2 and c3po
C3PO had a costume change, he’s been watching Padme.
The fake out they have you thinking Padme is covered in magma is pretty good
Okay then suddenly she loves him.
Also bye bye lightsaber
Genosians are pretty gross
In my head they were always the same as Toydarians for some reason
I like that bug monster, i remember killing them in one of the older battlefront games.. as maybe Aayla Sekura but maybe i made that up.
Anakin surely got the best one to fight. He basically tames it.
The fucking peck on the cheek, was that needed?
Droidekas are still cool as fuck.
Suddenly Jedi.
The Jedi that made it up to Dooku is terrible, he cant even reflect a few blaster blasts.
Well.. Jango lost his head.
The smile on that green jedi’s face is beautiful, what a beautiful alien man. Kit Fisto.
Obiwan is an icon.
Dooku is pretty reasonable all things considered.
Woo clones!
“Around the survivors, a perimiter, create.” Yoda.. just speak normally damnit.
Yoo what if Jaro Tapal shows up in the new Clone Wars cartoon season.. i’d lose my shit.
I like Dooku’s bike.
Anakin you dumb fuck.
I always thought Dooku’s curved lightsaber was weird.
Rey should have done this sick ass catching the lightning trick instead of the two lightsabers.
Jedi flips all over the place woop.
As obvious as it is that Palpatine is the hooded Sith, i feel like they dont show his full face because i feel like a little kid might not be able to tell.
I kinda like how it shows a bunch of clones (the basic start of the stormtrooper) and then star destroyers and it’s like.. heres where the empire started.
Aaaaaand they’re married? so yeah.. congrats Ani you creeped your way into being a husband.

Yuletide letter 2018
AO3: laughingpineapple
Hello dear author, I’m glad we share one of these wonderful little fandoms and I hope you’ll have fun writing for it. The sections aren’t all of equal length for one reason or another but I love them all so much, from the classics I’ve been requesting since I started doing Yuletide (can’t have enough of those!) to this year’s shiny new findings. I tried to leave both specific and non-specific prompts for each canon and, again, I wanna see the farfetched postcanon scenario just as much as the vague one-word prompt and my general likes. Pick whatever works for you, or mix and match!
Likes: worldbuilding, slice of life (doubly so if the event the fic focuses on is made up but canon-specific), missing moments, 5+1 and similar formats, bonding and emotional support/intimacy, physical intimacy, lingering touches, loyalty, casefic, surrealism, established relationships, future fic, hurt/comfort or just comfort from the ample canon hurt, throwing characters into non-canon environments, banter, functional relationships between dysfunctional individuals, unexplained mysteries, bittersweet moods, journal/epistolary fic, dreams and memories and identities, canon-adjacent tropey plots , outsider POV, UST, exploration of secondary bits of canon, leaning on the uniqueness of the canon setting/mood, found families, characters reuniting after a long and/or harrowing time, friends-to-lovers, road trips, cuddling, wintry moods, flannel, ridiculous concepts played straight, creating a dynamic between characters who never spoke in canon, sensory details, sickfic
Cool with: what-ifs, AUs, any tense, any pov, any rating, plotty, not plotty, gen, shippy, IF, nerdy canon references, unrequested characters popping up
DNW: non-canonical rape, non-canonical children, unrequested ships, canon retellings, consent issues
Ghost Trick: Cabanela, Jowd
General: platonic or romantic, loyalty kink here we go, in any shape and form. Night time and secrets. Out of town. Knitwear. Twenty years from now. Size difference. UST. Cabanela’s scarf being in the way sometimes. Cabanela’s legs being in the way sometimes. I have Final Fantasy on my mind a lot recently so any FFIV, VI, VII, T, IX, X, XII or XIII reimagining would be fantastic (Monk Jowd, dancer/red mage Cabanela...?), or indeed The Last Remnant, but also regular fantasy, space opera, sci-fantasy… anything fancy!
Canon-specific dislikes: Sissel not being Jowd’s cat in the new timeline (which ofc doesn’t shut out Yomiel’s unbreakable bond with his cat – as the saying goes, Sissel has four paws...), infidelity
Cabanela&Jowd or Cabanela/Jowd: I love Cabanela being fierce and dazzling bright and determined and loyal to the very end, dancing to his own rhythm, so sure of himself and of his ideas that he doesn’t even need to prove to anyone that he’s right. Too sure of the wrong idea, once, and everything crashed and burned. And I love Jowd being the immovable object to Cabanela’s unstoppable force, a self-depreciating asshole with a penchant for gallows humor that grows more morbid by the hour, and also incredibly smart (both jerks figured out Sissel’s powers better than Sissel did) and athletic and with an unsuspected talent for stealth.
I ship them dearly, as part of a triad (or Jowd-centered V...? Has it been explored?) with Alma with all the fun possibilities of the third party sneaking into the marriage and negotiating that relationship. Or adjusting to a life together with Kamila in a no-reset scenario or a what-if in which Alma was never around (please no breakups or noncanon deaths if you don't want her around).  But I also want to read all the best friends fic with the corniest, most intense found family dynamics you can muster!
Alternate scenario where it’s Cabanela who keeps his memories, not Jowd: how does that change their dynamic in the new timeline? Or what if Cabanela stays dead in ch15 like he wished he could, joins the rest of the gang as a ghost and goes back 10 years with the others and so both of them keep their memories? (with my apologies to Yomiel, whose ch16-17 redemption has just been made a lot harder by the added stowaway)
Jowd knowing how much Cabs did for him and remembering him broken and bloodied is A Lot. especially if he’s a lil into it (and mr spotless is. not really on the same page.)
Casefic! With ghosts! There could be a new ghost created by Temsik’s shards or even by some unfortunate soul dying on top of the buried meteorite. Or with their own ghost, teaming up with Sissel! There’s so much potential for tense, death-defying situations! (with make-outs afterwards, if that’s your thing)
Deathfic, until it’s reverted. Jowd dying in Cabanela’s arms or the other way round, but one of them knows about Sissel and the other does not…
Jowd’s loyalty to Cabanela being tested for once, as a change of pace.
More detailed prompts for a few FF fusion AUs: FFX, Summoner Jowd and reluctant Guardian Cabanela. Any moment of their pilgrimage could be fun (and/or tragic and/or intense), or if you like a more detailed prompt, would Yunalesca’s truths be the tipping point of Jowd’s conviction? Would Cabanela manage to drag himself and his Summoner to safety before she killed them? What would life look for them afterwards as survivors bearing forbidden truths, would they stay away from Yevon? FFTA or XII, viera Cabanela and nu mou or bangaa Jowd. I’m sure there’s a poignant plot about magic-endowing extraterrestrial rocks and political backstabbing somewhere at the intersection of Ivalice and GT. If you can see it, I’m here to read it. But I’ll be honest here, the real point here is bunny Cabs. Please consider bunny Cabs. (viera, nu mou, bangaa visual refs for non-FFTA players who might wanna do a regular fantasy AU instead?) FFVI, Cabanela faked defecting to the Empire and is a magitek-infused officer while Jowd has Blitz and... Sketch somehow? And they meet again in the World of Ruin and things are very emotional?
The Last Remnant: Any (Pagus, Maddox, Sibal, David)
General: characterization based on battle quotes, red bubble dialogues, and even their unique stat (‘authority’ is a natural fit for David but ‘romance’ tells me something new about Sibal!) Character interaction. Bit of worldbuilding. What’s another festival they celebrate? Do they erect something else instead of the Valeria Heart? Any fun discoveries down in Siebenbur? Where the hell IS Veyriel, anyway, do they go look for it and if so what do they find out? End of an age. Old bonds.
Canon-specific dislikes: strong narrative emphasis on game mechanics. Stuff like mentioning that a character leads a unit is fine, but for example listing the materials they need for their weapon upgrade would take me out of the story.
The Qsiti bunch: just give me the deets on Qsiti worlduilding and I’ll be a happy camper. I ship these three very much but I’m also invested in their friendship and in each of them as a singular character. The fact that Pagus is a goddamn catch is one of my favorite things, and he can be a smart cookie with any of the other smart cookies in the party, or be a history buff with Glenys, or tutor Yuniver. Proud, paranoid chatterbox Maddox entrenched in his cover-up stories, finding it hard to stop being a spy and relax, maybe spending time with someone very simple, like Sheryl, or a very different kind of fellow veteran like Roberto. Self-assured Sibal who probably knows a lot about the mysteries of the underground world and is also the most romantic soul out of the entire cast, talking volcanoes with Paris or discussing the Rainbow Bond with Haruko? If you also like all three of them, either as old friends or as a ship, who of them comes up with what excuse to reconnect again now that Remnants are no more, or do they drop all pretenses and admit they just want to make up for lost time? And what do Qsiti cuddles look like?
David: Post-canon, adjusting to a life without remnants - how did it feel to be bound to one or two of them anyway, and what’s it like without, and suddenly knowing you’ll be the first Nassau in who knows how long who’ll reach old age? - and without Rush. Finding support and friendship even outside his trusted Generals. I’d be interested in seeing him get closer to any unique leader you might like, I can easily see half the characters absolutely adoring him sooner or later. From the Duke of Ghor to Roberto, to sweet Zolean who knows what it’s like to lose someone dear and hope he comes back, or Rhagoh & Remnant Kate, or Paris or Jager or, eventually, even Allan… David/Rush prompts: focus on Rush’s supernatural nature, how he was a strange boy with a good heart (Things Unchangeable meant so much to me!) who ignored human social conventions because he was not in fact human. Reunion fic more than a decade into the future, showing how David has changed and with emphasis on Rush’s Remnant nature.
David & Qsiti: basically a mix of the other prompts. David is close to all his Generals but what’s his dynamic with Pagus specifically? Is he a mentor, a friend, did Pagus stop David once when he was about to do something very stupid? And what can David learn about his dear General from people who have known him since long before David was born?
Myst: Yeesha, Jeff Zandi
General: The oddest of friendships. Road trip. Desert sunrise. Desert bird shenanigans, be it with actual roadrunners speeding by or cartoon ones. Descent. An oddly shaped rock. Strangers. Shooting stars. Any line from Words.
Canon-specific dislikes: please no Yeesha bashing?
Yeesha & Jeff: He’s definitely Team Yeesha and she could definitely do with a friend, the year is 2018 and I still want fic about this unlikely duo.
How much can he really say he gets her? When did they meet? Was it when a younger Jeff was exploring D’ni with his father Elias, did that create a rift between the two?
What do they do when they hang out? Has he played the Myst games – heck, has she? Does he play Magic the Gathering like his RL counterpart?
Do they set out on a road trip because she needs to chill for a hot minute and experience for herself that whole ‘you shall seek the journey’ thing? Late night driving and liminal places could be cool. Or does she link him somewhere cool with no travel time needed?
Do they agree to meet by his camp fire once a month or something like that, and one time Yeesha doesn’t show up? What happened?
Does he get to hang out with bahro thanks to her, in the depths of the Cavern where the DRC will never be able to reach, and what’s that encounter like for him (and for her, and for the bahro)?
Maybe some relaxing time can take place after End of Ages. He’d notice that something has changed, she’s somewhat less of a depressed wreck that she used to be...
Speaking of End of Ages, was Jeff chosen by the Tablet? If so, how did he fail his quest? I appreciate Esher a lot so if you go for an EoA plot feel free to use him too.
Anything based on Uru history is great!
The Secret History of Twin Peaks: Tammy Preston
General: Character dossiers that involve Tammy more directly. TSHOTP themes being used front and center. Owls, figurative and otherwise. Tammy Fashion™. Tammy Freeform Infodump™. The risks of staring into the void for too long. Gentle illusions. The moon. Static buzzing. Any title from the s3 ethereal whooshing compilation used as a prompt, actually. AUs and fusion AUs are great for this fandom! I have Final Fantasy on my mind a lot recently so any FFVI, VII, T, IX, X, XII or XIII reimagining would be fantastic (what would Tammy even be... scholar, fencer, mystic knight...?), or indeed The Last Remnant, but also regular fantasy, space opera, sci-fantasy... anything fancy!
Canon-specific dislikes: Gordon being a harmless, fun dad or conversely having the worst intentions. Clear explanations for canonical ambiguities.
(my Twin Peaks canon-specific likes and dislikes in the next section may also apply)
Tammy: what I find fascinating about Tammy’s positioning in the narrative of the books (and of the show, but not as markedly) is that there is this whole narrative of trauma, and the circularity of trauma, even within Blue Rose and the organizations that came before it, and she stands at the end of it and learns about it all without being directly involved. She can learn from it in a sheltered position. Maybe when her turn will come, she’ll know a little better. Her name’s anagram is Praemonstrata, “Having been guided”. She’s the new Archivist, in a way. She’s the future of Blue Rose, last woman standing as soon as Albert and Gordon retire and/or vanish (and after the show’s finale, I can’t see either of them lasting long). What does it all mean, in the context of the book’s overarching theme of secrets VS mysteries and the cost of knowledge (and the show’s connections between trauma and the fragmentation of the self, and TFD’s doubling down on the general concept of shoveling oneself out of the shit, and her moving final considerations)?
What could be a test for her, something that would involve her personally and make her risk losing her way? What makes her tick - would she cross to other worlds, how, and why?
I don’t know much about aliens, but I really enjoyed how the book wove it all into Twin Peaks lore. If you want to do the same with some other bit of UFO trivia and have Tammy draw her connections, I’m interested!
The books show that she’s not only Albert’s spiritual successor as the only other rationally-inclined soul in there, she also knows Albert personally to some extent, for example that he’s a jazz lover. Have they ever gone drinking in cool (LGBT…?) clubs with fancy live music? Are they jazz buddies or what kind of music is she into (and what does he have to say about her tastes)?
What other characters or pieces of TP history would she look into? What about that Diane dossier, for example? What about Lucy? (If you have her look into Diane, please be empathetic toward her and her tulpa)
Twin Peaks: Harry Truman, Lucy Moran, Chet Desmond, Garland Briggs
This one is an OR request – feel free to only write about some of these people and completely ignore the others. There were just too many good characters in the tagset and I couldn’t choose so, you know, to hell with matchability. The prompts are for the characters on their own or with some nominated canon mates but if you have an idea for Ruby&Lucy, Garland&Albert, Harry&Naido or any other odd combo, go for it!
General: the mystery of the woods, obviously. How do they relate to the woods, what do they gain and what do they lose in the woods. Case fic but they don’t find out jack shit, someone disappears, David Bowie was there, it’s complicated. Fragmented, shifted, mirrored identities. New Lodge spaces. Still any title from the s3 ethereal whooshing compilation used as a prompt. When in doubt, add Margaret. AUs and fusion AUs are great for this fandom! I have Final Fantasy on my mind a lot recently so any FFVI, VII, T, IX, X, XII or XIII reimagining would be fantastic (paladin Harry, dancer Lucy, fighter Chet, sage Garland...?), or indeed The Last Remnant, but also regular fantasy, space opera, sci-fantasy... anything fancy!
Canon-specific Dislikes: any singular Dreamer being the ‘source’ of canon, BOB (let alone Judy) being forever defeated in the finale, Judy being an active malevolent presence in the characters’ lives, ‘Odessaverse’ being the reality layer, the Fireman's House by the Sea being the White Lodge, Naido being nothing more than Diane but since she was nominated as her own character I'm hopeful here
(my Secret History of Twin Peaks canon-specific likes and dislikes in the previous section may also apply)
Harry: Bookhouse Boy Harry both in the sense of avid reader Harry promoting literacy and vague bastion against the evil in the woods Harry. Harry getting a sword out of a pond in the woods like he was meant to but , like, in a way that’s less random kitsch and more meaningful magical realism. Harry and Frank as actual brothers but also Frank as a projection of Harry’s insecurities. Harry, Ed and Hawk as friends. Harry finding some sense of belonging somewhere, somehow.
Lucy: Kimmy Robertson said she would like to be the color blue in Lynch’s palette, if the prompt works for you. Lucy taking her time to understand and organize the world around her. Lucy with Andy (the one functional couple in all of canon, bless), with Wally, with Maggie Brown and the rest of the new sheriff’s station cast. Lucy with people who don’t usually appreciate her (both sheriffs and Albert come to mind) but have to come to terms with the fact that she’s amazing. I also like that Hawk is a first-class gossip, apparently, and so is Lucy, so if THAT prompts works for you… last but not least, she seems to have some sort of connection with the symbolic weave of reality (picking chairs when a very important chair is introduced, wondering about bunnies and Jack Rabbit palace will be relevant, Robertson said that Lynch said that Lucy perceives a lot and needs time to sort it all out) and I’d love to see it explored one way or another. If you wanna go wild with meta Invitation to Love shenanigans, Lucy could be a good POV character.
Chet: What’s his deal? Empirically, new canon draws a hell of a lot of connections between personal troubles and being jettisoned out of reality. So why did he? A friend recalls that he was named after Chet Baker and Norma Desmond, so that could be a starting point. I like to think that he manages to pull himself together at some point and make it back – how? Does he find any familiar faces beyond the curtains, like Phil? Finally, like all Blue Rose and Sheriff’s station characters, when all other prompts fail: office shenanigans. Please. Now that they’ve all been blatantly retconned as a merry gang who coexisted at some point, please give me Chet bouncing off literally any other named character in there.
Garland: He’s a good bean, almost naive compared to Doug Milford & co in TSHOTP, and I wish him the best wherever he is... the metaphysical adventures of Garland’s floating head could be a fic (maybe Bill Hastings and Ruth Davenport could tag along). Or back when he was alive, weird occurrences at Listening Post Alpha up on Blue Pine mountain. He wasn’t born in town, so what’s HIS relationship with the woods? Or an encounter with some of the federal cast, like Gordon and Phil or a very young Albert. I’m also intrigued by his s3 narrative but I have a very negative view of The Plan(tm) so I don’t really know what to make of it. If you also think that the Fireman’s hints only ended in tragedy and that Blue Rose’s search for Judy was a monumental act of hubris, and you have a good spin for Garland’s role in all of this, I’m listening! All I got is something like "he gave his last fuck... now he's free....." (not that Garland is legally allowed to say fuck, I mean)
Albert/Harry: my main headcanon is that they got together in the aftermath of Coop’s disappearance, holding onto each other in his absence not unlike James and Donna did with Laura. Then... did they last? Or was it a terrible moment to get together (...not unlike James and Donna) and they had to go their separate ways for a while before finding each other again? Does this sad time last up until the end of s3, when Albert can finally quit the castle of lies that was his job and stay with Harry? I am also, however, open to other timelines for these two. Emotional reunions are great and so is domestic fic with a dash of surrealism. What would Harry do for Albert? For example, when would he take his side in a heated dispute with someone else? What would Albert share about his past? What could they do in town? Or do they take a well-deserved vacation somewhere else? Do they team up for a small investigation? Old men taking care of each other is very much welcome, especially after Harry gets through the worst of his treatments.
Dale/Harry: Harry seeing his Coop again... somewhere, somehow. Maybe he perceives him in the woods, maybe Coop isn't all human now. Monster cuddles very welcome. Could be canon divergence but could very well be post-s3. Harry getting closure for waiting all that time in front of Glastonbury and never giving up on Coop... they can live in the woods together...
Harry&Lucy: what could make them spend some time together outside of work (is it donuts)? Does he ask for relationship advice since she and Andy are literally the only people in town who could make it work? Does she feel loyal to him and Frank or is it just a job to her? Does she go visit him after s3 and does he tell her that she was very brave? What about Wally - Harry is the boy’s godfather after all, I don’t usually read kidfic but I can make all sorts of exceptions for my beloved Wally (maybe when he’s more of a teen than a kid). Are they all fans of Marlon Brando?
Chet/Sam: reunion fic! Chet’s been AWOL for years, Sam has fallen through the cracks, how do they find each other again and why do they choose to remain off the grid? I would also like to read about them in the present day-ish, handwaving the return and reunion. Maybe they made a new life for themselves. If Sutherland were to play Sam again, Sam would be... notably more buff. What caused that change, was it traveling with Chet, what kind of person is he now? Could they be in Buenos Aires, investigating on their own whatever that shrinking box was?
Chet&Dale: In which ways are they both real boys and in which ways are they aspects of each other? How do they work together?
Chet/Albert: whatever passes for an uncomplicated office romance around those parts, where they both know very well that they’re not the other’s One True Love, but they have a good understanding - except when Albert’s pacifism clashes with Chet‘s readiness to throw down 24/7. But then again Albert is also ready to throw down 24/7, only with words instead of fists, so there’s fertile ground for conflict and unexpected agreements. Also they’re hot.
Garland&Harry: they’re both good dogs living in a cold and cruel world, with their own partial experiences of other worlds beyond this tangible reality, and I think they should be at least a little friends. Maybe Harry found himself at Garland’s observatory one day without even knowing how he’d gotten there, maybe they chatted at the RR. Then there’s Mfrost spitballing some connection which, given how Garland ‘died’ literally on the day after s2, can only be read as Harry passing his info to Garland when Garland was already beyond this world. I’d read that in a heartbeat.

For the week of 10 September 2018
Quick Bits:
Archie: 1941 #1 is fairly morose and downbeat in tone and execution as a recently graduated Archie Andrews seemingly sleepwalks through this opening chapter, depressed and anxious about the future, both in terms of what he wants to do with his life and with the growing fear of the war in Europe. It’s not bad, elevated by wonderful art from Peter Krause and Kelly Fitzpatrick.

Birthright #31 returns after an extended break, opening a new arc following Kallista and Brennan, while diving into the backstory of Mastema. I like Joshua Williamson taking us off down this thread and the art from Andrei Bressan and Adriano Lucas is as beautiful as always.

Cemetery Beach #1 is a very entertaining start to this new action/sci-fi mini-series from Warren Ellis, Jason Howard, and Fonografiks. It’s been a while since I’ve seen some of Ellis’ dialogue be this funny, but it’s very welcome.

Champions #24 tackles the increasing problem of school shootings with the added intersection of a world with superheroes. Now, that may sound like a recipe for disaster, condescending patronizing or an after school special with saccharine solutions, but that’s not what’s presented here. Jim Zub, Sean Izaakse, Marcio Menyz, Erick Arciniega, and Clayton Cowles instead present a thoughtful story of the helplessness of the situation, that you really should pick up and read for yourself.

Crowded #2 is as good, possibly even better, than the first issue as we get further development of Vita and Charlie’s characters, and a broader understanding of many of the facets of the series’ world. This really is a great comic, wonderful humour, amazing premise, interesting characters, and beautiful art. Christopher Sebela, Ro Stein, Ted Brandt, Tríona Farrell, and Cardinal Rae have something special here. Don’t sleep on it.

Exiles #8 is a good jumping-on point, as the team’s history is explored and the issue sets up a new group of antagonists in the Watchers. Saladin Ahmed is doing a great job of building these characters and making their unique alternate realities interesting. Nice guest art this issue from Joe Quinones, Joe Rivera, Jordan Gibson, Chris Sotomayor, and Muntsa Vicente.

Fantastic Four #2 has a couple things in its opening page that could be considered problematic, the first in its depiction of an alien race that could be an analogue to the racial stereotype of Native Americans as the “noble savage”, the second is of the sexualization of a child. Neither are particularly endearing in how they’re presented and I’m kind of surprised they made it to print.
That being said, the rest of the issue is pretty good. It’s the kind of sci-fi adventure you’d expect from the FF, though it does feel like we’ve been dropped in at the end of an adventure we’ve never seen, and it has beautiful artwork from Sara Pichelli, Elisabetta D’Amico, and Marte Gracia.

Hot Lunch Special #2 is just plain great storytelling. Eliot Rahal, Jorge Fornés, and Taylor Esposito are crafting a crime story here that is the perfect storm of characters, plot, and execution. It’s dense and heavy, navigating through the Khoury family and their shock at the death of their youngest, masterfully told through both dialogue and art.

Iceman #1 isn’t a bad start to a new series from Sina Grace, this time with Nathan Stockman and Federico Blee joining him for the art duties. While still cracking wise a bit, this seems like it’s going in a much more serious direction than some of Grace’s previous series. Great art, and an interesting hook for a new group trying to “cleanse” mutantkind.

Infinity Wars #3 gives us the twist in the tale that’s going to deliver most of the tie-ins and spin-offs for the series, as Gamora remakes the world and causes the fusion of various heroes. It’s an idea we’ve seen before in things like the merged DC/Marvel Amalgam universe, which could be fun depending on where the creative teams take it.

MCMLXXV #1 is kind of a mash-up of different 70s exploitation film genres, creating an interesting action horror story from Joe Casey, Ian MacEwan, Brad Simpson, and Rus Wooton. MacEwan’s art is very nice, reminding me a bit of Troy Nixey, with some interesting character designs and wonderful depictions of the action.

Mech Cadet Yu #12 concludes the series with a final battle between the robos and the Sharg, again following the important themes of teamwork and sacrifice. This has been a very entertaining, action-packed story from Greg Pak, Takeshi Miyazawa, Raúl Angulo, and Simon Bowland.

Oblivion Song #7 is the big answer to the Transference, maybe, as the series turns itself on its ear again with more sweeping changes. I really quite like how Robert Kirkman and Lorenzo de Felici are keeping us on our toes as the series keeps pressing forward.

Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #309 concludes this two-parter focusing on Sandman, with gorgeous art from Chris Bachalo and his army of inkers. This one’s a lot more action-oriented than the quiet reflection upon death in the first chapter, but it’s still very satisfying.

Runaways #13 begins a new arc with some incredible guest art from David Lafuente and Jim Campbell. Along with the return of Alex Wilder, this drops in another old threat for the team, leading to one of the more action-packed issues of the series so far. Still, amidst the chaos, Rainbow Rowell still has a laser-focused eye for character development, giving us some interesting reactions to Wilder’s return.

Scales & Scoundrels #12 concludes this two-part arc with Dorma and with it the series for the foreseeable future. This has been a great all ages fantasy adventure series from Sebastian Girner, Galaad, and Jeff Powell, and I wish it had have caught on better since the quality has been extremely high. Great characters and beautiful art, I do hope they find a way to bring it back in some form, and I highly recommend people to check out the series in the collections.

Volition #2 is another beautiful comic. The artwork from Omar Francia is gorgeous with a nice polished sheen to the colours that enriches this world of sentient machines.

Weapon H #7 continues to be more entertaining than anyone probably thought possible. Though I really quite like Cory Smith’s art, I’m thinking that Ario Anindito’s is even more suited to the weird, alien creatures of this turn in the story.

The Wrong Earth #1 is a solid debut, kicking off new publisher, Ahoy’s, foray into comics. It’s a nice package with a lead story, a back-up comic, some interviews, a one pager, and a short story. It gives nice value for what you’re picking up, especially when you consider the talent involved.
The lead story from Tom Peyer, Jamal Igle, Juan Castro, Andy Troy, and Rob Steen is the main draw, though. It’s a rather brilliant premise of a superhero crossing alternate realities, switching from a kind of Adam West Batman-esque quaint, bright world to a much darker grim and gritty world, and vice versa. It’s executed very well, capturing the tone and atmosphere for both takes perfectly.
The backmatter also nicely enhances the experience, particularly the back-up comic featuring Stinger from Paul Constant and Frank Cammuso, presented in a kind of retro comics fashion. And a suitably bonkers adventure prose story from Grant Morrison, with illustrations by Rob Steen.

X-23 #4 pushes further to paint the Cuckoos as out and out villains now. Which is a bit of a shame, much like with Emma Frost, but I can’t deny that Mariko Tamaki isn’t doing something interesting with them and the story overall. Also, Juann Cabal and Nolan Woodard continue to deliver stunning artwork.

X-Men Blue #35 takes a moment for each of the time-tossed original five X-Men to chat with their present day counterparts about going back to their own time, while flashing forward to the seemingly nightmarish future that would exist if they stayed. Obviously with Extinction going on events are a bit out of order, but I still like the handle Cullen Bunn has had on these characters.

You know, it wasn’t until I was talking to someone in person about Thor: Ragnarok that I realized how pissed I am that Taika Waititi clearly does not like Loki. This is evident to me in all his interviews about the movie, as well as in his approach to Loki in the film. (He also seems not to appreciate Tom Hiddleston’s acting ability, but that’s another story. At least Jeff Goldblum knows where the real talent in the cast is.) I don’t know what it is – maybe he’s one of those people who’s just incapable of sympathizing with (sometime) villains. In any case, he seems to have misinterpreted Loki’s character and simplified him into a cartoon version of himself: self-absorbed and narcissistic, with nothing but “poor me, I’m misunderstood,” “rich kid” problems that he just needs to “grow up” and get over.
I might be wrong, but I get the sense that people of many different socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds find Loki compelling and sympathetic. Maybe Taika is just too mentally healthy? Most of the Loki fans on here seem to have some mental illness or another. I’m reminded of when my former roommate started reading Lev Grossman’s The Magicians, on my recommendation, and said she couldn’t sympathize with the protagonist, Quentin, because he just couldn’t appreciate all the good things he had and was always whining about still being unhappy. And I’m like, yeah, that’s called depression. Everything in your life can be going great on the surface and you’re still miserable for no apparent reason. So yeah, Loki’s reactions to the (legitimately shitty) things that happen to him are irrational. Because he’s pretty clearly mentally unwell. I mean, he canonically – onscreen, FFS – attempts suicide. “Rich kid problems,” huh?
Or maybe the deflation of Loki’s character was deliberate. Taika kept saying in interviews that he wanted to make sure Thor was the best, most interesting character in his own movie. The implication, of course, is that in previous movies he wasn’t – which means that someone else was, and the obvious candidate is Loki (Jane Foster may have been a more interesting character than Thor in the first movie, but they gave her basically nothing to do for most of the second one). The difficult thing to do would be to make Thor at least as interesting as Loki. The easy thing to do is to portray Loki as less interesting than he is/was/could be so that Thor can outshine him.

Friday Five: Next Up
I decided to wait until after the season five finale of Agents of SHIELD to do my Friday Five this week. (Yes, I know I skipped a FF last week, but in my defense… I was very, very busy.) I decided to use this week’s FF to look ahead to the future of Agents of SHIELD since we’re confirmed to get a season six right around the time the next Avengers movie hits theaters.
So, spoiler warning for the entirety of the MCU, just in case I mention something or someone that you haven’t seen yet and you’re still reading.
But especially SPOILERS for the season five finale of Agents of SHIELD since these questions are about what’s next for the show!
Five: What about Deke?
I very much enjoy that they left just what happens to Deke ambiguous. Is he out seeing the world? Did he disappear because the future changed? Did he vanish because his genetic grandfather died? Will he be back as an official agent next season because he just can’t stay away? I enjoy Jeff Ward’s performance, so I hope he’ll be back. I’d also love to see the conversation that has a SHIELD agent telling Deke he has to come back to help save his grandfather from his fate, but that, you know, that might mean he never ended up in the past at all anyway, and oh, isn’t time travel both the best and the worst? Yeah.
Four: Are Piper and Davis part of the gang now?
If season six begins with Coulson and May gone, I would hope that Piper and Davis aren’t just recurring characters to pull out when there isn’t another option for the story. They’re great additions and, let’s be honest, this particular team is going to need more members. Their numbers have been dwindling since Trip (Trip! RIP! I still miss you.). I’d like to think that idea was already in the minds of the writers since they placed the two so prominently the last few episodes, but we’ll see. Briana Venskus especially has a lot of commitments (The Walking Dead in Atlanta, Supergirl in Vancouver, and Agents of SHIELD in Los Angeles. That’s a lot of commuting).
Three: Where in the MCU timeline will season six pick up?
Okay, so the writers almost always do a six month time jump, but next season is going to start airing in about a year. And it’s likely going to start airing while all the press for the next Avengers movie will take place. It seems like the events of the last few episodes of season five are so compressed that they take place in between the first and last battles in Avengers: Infinity War, which is why there were no, uh, disappearing acts, amongst the characters here (except Deke, but I doubt that’s the result of the snap). Will we see any fallout from that? Will SHIELD agents suddenly vanish? Will the remaining Avengers be aware that SHIELD exists again since they just saved Chicago? Or will the writers set the show far enough out from the events of those movies that it’ll be like they never happened? I’m good either way. I’m just curious.
Two: Agents of SWORD? Finally?
Look, they outfitted the Zephyr to fly in space and Coulson let Daisy keep the spaceship. Are they going to, you know, be in space next season? After all, they have to find Enoch’s spaceship in orbit and find Fitz. I feel like this season would have been a prime time to show a SHIELD split. To make a permanent branch of SHIELD in space, being the front line against outside threats, while there’s also a team on the ground. It would make sense for SHIELD to develop something like the SWORD of the comics simply because they know so many threats are coming from off planet now. But maybe we’ll get that next season.
One: How different will this Fitz be?
Of course, the Fitz in space is still Fitz. There’s no question. But let’s think about the experiences this Fitz hasn’t yet had. He never met Kasius. He never met Deke. He never proposed to Jemma. He never became a part of the invincible three or got kidnapped by Ruby. He never had a psychotic break while saving the world and cut into his friend’s skull. It’s that last one that gets to me. Because Fitz, with the Doctor still very much a part of him, was a ticking time bomb when he was put in the position of finding a way to stop reality from breaking apart. This Fitz is still going to be that ticking time bomb because he spent six months in a cell trying to figure out what happened to his friends. This time though, Jemma would know that. Perhaps, we’ll get an arc about Fitz’s mental health that so many people will want. Or, we might not. But I’m pretty sure the Doctor isn’t done for yet, especially since from the time Fitz arrived in the Lighthouse to save them up until now has been, at most, a few weeks. His brain wouldn’t have been done processing what happened yet anyway, even if we weren’t getting a Fitz that was a few weeks younger.
And that’s it! I mean, I have other, more long term questions like: When will Donnie Gill and Vijay Nadeer meet at the bottom of the ocean and what have the Inhuman royal family been up to since they came to Earth and no one cared, but that’s more general griping than anything else. What are you interested in for season six?

Chapter One
“No, Anna, you’ve got to – no, the other way.” Emma groans, waving her hand in front of her face, careful to miss the expensive camera equipment below it. The woman in front of her scoots five inches, bewildered face smoothly appearing on camera. “Yes, thank you, now you’re in frame.”
“Oh, your left, not mine.”
Emma sighs and straightens up. She can already feel the ache in her back forming. “Yes, Anna, my left.” Glancing over her shoulder, Emma nods solemnly at the director.
“Alright, let’s get this scene started,” he says. Emma backs away from the camera, slowly weaving her way around the rest of the crew. She’s done her job for now. It’s too early and there are sprinkled donuts and bearclaws on the catering table that call her name.
For something that seems like such a low budget gig, this YouTube series employs a surprising amount of people. She’s constantly impressed by it – the sheer number of familiar and unfamiliar faces she passes by in the hallways. Hell, they’re even big enough to have a catering table that asks for requests every once in awhile.
She’s worked for productions with much less.
From the moment Anna cheerfully walked up to her yesterday afternoon as she was packing up, asking for any requests, “because my sister’s sending some things from the bakery,” Emma knew today would be better than most. A bearclaw: the one love/hate relationship she enjoyed in her life.
She spots it 20 feet from the table. It’s got her name on it, literally – a note on blue paper has her name scrawled elegantly across it.
(Elsa really is the best thing about this whole series. God, she should just ask the girl out, that’s how much she likes her.)
The bearclaw hangs right before her mouth, the sugar nearly on her lips, when the devil chimes in, sounding suspiciously like her cellphone.
Groaning, she removes it from her back pocket, sparing a glance at the caller ID. Her interest piques when she reads the name scrawled across it.
“Jefferson?” she answers. “What’s wrong?”
“I call you for the first time in four years and you automatically assume something’s wrong?” the man from the other end asks, too dramatic for his own good.
“Yes,” she says shortly. “The last time you called me, you asked me – broke, mother-of-a-six-year-old me – to bail you out of jail and lend you enough money to pay back that casino you got caught in.” She pauses for effect, then adds, “And then asked me to drive you home.”
“Oh,” Jefferson says on an exhale. “I’d forgotten about that. How is Henry these days?”
Emma sighs, tucking her phone between her shoulder and ear so she can rest her hand on her hip. “Jeff, what do you want?” she asks. “I’m at work right now, they’re going to call me back any minute and I need to e-"
“That’s actually what I’m calling you about,” he interrupts her excitedly.
“What? Jeff, this series is wrapping up, they’re not hiring.”
“No, I’ve got an idea for a show and I’ve gotten the okay for a trial season.”
“What?” This time, her question expresses more disbelief than anything. “That’s great, Jefferson! What’s it about?”
“It’s reality, sort of adventurey,” he explains. “Trawling for lobster and seafood up at the Georges Bank in Maine. Imagine Ice Truckers but with boats.” Her friend goes quiet for so long that Emma takes her phone back in hand to make sure that the call hasn’t dropped. “And I want you to come and shoot it, if that wasn’t obvious already.”
Shaking her head, she mutters, “I don’t like how this sounds.”
“No, Emma, trust me,” Jeff reassures her. “This is gonna be great.”
She sighs, turning away from the food table reluctantly. “Jeff, I can’t just up and move in the blink of an eye, I’ve got Henry.”
Even in the slight din of the studio, Emma can hear her friend mimic her sigh. “I know,” he says resignedly. “I called up David Nolan. He’s in. He and the missus just married and were trying to find a nice place for them.” When she doesn’t immediately respond, Jeff sighs again. “Look, we wouldn’t start filming until after Fourth of July. That gives you a couple months.”
It could work. She wouldn’t have to worry about taking Henry out of school. This project should wrap up by the end of next week. She’d actually have time to find them somewhere nice to live unlike previous times where producers have expected her behind the camera by week’s end. And David – who acted like her big brother when they were in school, always texting her to make sure she got home in once piece – and his girlfriend, now wife apparently, Mary Margaret would be there. For once, they’d be moving to someplace where familiar faces await them.
This could actually work.
“When do you need an answer by?” she asks. Now that the wheels are turning in her head, the plausibility of the whole idea works. She’s got to check with Henry first. No big life decision like this can truly be set in stone until her son has his word.
“I’d like one now, if that’s possible,” Jefferson responds with a chuckle, “but I’ll need it by the end of next week at the latest.”
Nodding her head, Emma concedes. “I’ll get back to you by then, if not sooner.” She hesitates only for a moment before asking, “Everything else alright there, Jeff?”
(They were kind of close, back in the day. Met each other in their first film class, kept in touch and always were down to hold the camera or act in front of it for whatever project caused their headaches at the time.)
“Yeah, great, actually,” he answers. “Grace is doing well. She’s getting really good at math.”
Emma smiles. She recognizes the strength and pride in another parent’s voice. It’s a sentiment that often tinges her own. “She’s a great kid, Jeff. You should be proud of her.” She could go on for days, swapping stories of Henry’s successes and Grace’s troubles and vice versa. It’s been a long time since she’s had a conversation with a good friend of hers. All Emma wants is for this phone conversation to just devolve into a catch up session, but she hears her name from set. Rolling her eyes, she groans. “I’ve got to get back to work, Jeff, but I’ll let you know my answer as soon as I have one,” she says.
“Thanks, Em,” Jeff tells her softly. “Tell Henry Grace and I say hi.”
“Of course.” Her name bounces off the artificially lit walls again, louder and more agitated. She sighs, again. “Bye, Jeff. Take care of yourselves.”
“Always do.”
Ending the call, Emma looks from her darkened phone screen to the uneaten pastry. She looks at it forlornly for a moment before shoving it in her mouth with one hand and her phone in her back pocket with the other.
No such thing as free time in show business.
0000
Broaching the topic of moving – yet again, for what’s probably the third time in as many years – proves more difficult than Emma’s expecting. Jefferson’s offer is somewhat ideal: the opportunity to meet up with old friends, as well as provide her son a more stable environment to grow up in. Or, at least, finish growing up in.
She picks Henry up from school that afternoon and, like any good parent, takes him out to ice cream for dinner.
“Where are we going this time?” he asks, chocolate raspberry swirl dripping off the tip of his nose.
Stopping her tongue mid-lick on mint chocolate chip, Emma reels back. She’s stunned, to say the least.  “What do you mean?” she asks, lowering the cone in her hand to rest it on the table.
Her son sighs, his shoulders rolling forward just the slightest bit. “We only get ice cream for dinner when you’re trying to tell me we have to pack and move in record time.” Henry shrugs, nonchalant, and renews his attack on his ice cream. “So,” he says between licks, “where are we going now?”
“Nowhere, yet.” Recovering from her brief shock, she too returns to her dinner. “Jefferson called me earlier today and said he’s got a gig for me up in Maine.”
“Maine? Like next-to-Canada Maine?”
“The same one,” Emma chuckles. Her son’s always had such a way with words. “Also, he told me to tell you that he and Grace say hello.”
Henry makes a face, scrunching up his nose, and waves off the hellos like they’re a bug buzzing in his face. “Mom, do you realize how far away that is?” he asks.
“I know kid, but I think it’s got potential,” she reasons. “It’s for a TV show about the ocean and boats.”
That catches his attention. “Like pirate ships?” he asks excitedly, eyes wide and ice cream temporarily forgotten.
“No, like fishing boats,” she explains, leaning forward to wipe at some of the ice cream that’s melted down his chin. “Filming doesn’t start until after the Fourth of July, so you wouldn’t miss any school and you’d have some time to acclimate and find new friends before it starts up again. We can find a place we both like up there.” Settling back into her seat across from him, Emma sends him a small smile. “What do you think?”
She watches her son process the information, sees the cogs turning about in his head. He’s quiet for a minute, staring off into the space his ice cream occupies. Then Henry shrugs.
“I don’t know, Mom,” he says. “Doesn’t it get really cold up there?”
“Yeah, but think about it. We can find a house with a fireplace and when it snows, we can curl up and drink cocoa and marathon Star Wars until we can’t see straight.” At the mention of winter weather, she watches Henry’s eyes grow wide and glossy. She can tell he’s lost in his own active imagination.
And then the thought strikes her: “You’ve never seen snow before, have you?”
Henry shakes his head. “Maybe once in real life, but mostly on TV,” he admits sheepishly. And then, like kids tend to do, his tone does a 180. “We could build a snowman!”
“Exactly!” Emma shouts, nearly throwing her ice cream at her son in the process. There’s more of the dessert on the napkin around her cone than in it, but she quickly finishes it up before speaking again. “You don’t need to tell me what you think right now. Give it a couple days.”
“When do you need to tell Jefferson?” Henry asks, his tongue making a round about the edge of his cone, trying in vain to catch all of it before it falls on his hand.
“By the end of next week,” she answers. “So instead of daydreaming in class about the next Uncharted game, think about this instead, alright?”
“Okay.” Henry finishes up his ice cream, shoving the last bite into his mouth and sighing contently as he chews. Once he swallows, he matches her gaze. “Does this mean we’re going to have something else for dinner too?”
Emma laughs despite herself. “Are you still hungry, kid?”
“I am a growing boy, I need my nutrients,” he quips back.
As her laughter dying down, she shakes her head. “We can stop at McDonald’s or something on the way home.”
Stretching and closing his eyes, Henry says, “I was thinking more along the lines of pizza.”
“Oh yeah?” she chuckles.
“Yeah. A large half cheese, half pepperoni.” Opening his eyes again, he grins slyly when he says, “And then you can get whatever you want on your pizza.”
Emma laughs so hard that her stomach begins to hurt. Henry’s already on his way to the car, but she manages to catch up, grabbing him by the shoulders and ruffling his hair. He’s still small enough that when she pulls him into her side for a hug, he can’t resist her strength. But she can’t lift him anymore, can’t hold him when he’s tired and falls asleep in the backseat of the Bug.
It always strikes her how quickly her little boy is growing up. She just never seems to realize it. It feels like only yesterday she was taking her first steps as a free woman, a newborn cradled in her arms and no idea of where to go from there.
Ten years later, Henry’s growing taller, looking more and more like his father every day. It hurts her heart, being reminded of her first love every time she looks at her son and the long line of mistakes that gave her him, but then he sasses her back or crinkles his nose like she does and the aches are soothed.
Though he may look like his father, Henry is most definitely her son.
0000
When the TV’s off for the night and Henry’s sitting at the kitchen table scribbling out his book report, Emma scrolls through her phone on the hunt for a number. She’s sure she still has it somewhere in her contacts, it hasn’t been that long since they’ve talked.
Or has it?
With how close the three of them were back in her short college years, she assumes that she would have been invited to David and Mary Margaret’s wedding. They were as thick as thieves until she took the fall for an actual one and spent her second year of college in a jail cell instead of the library. But they came and visited her when time afforded it. Emma tried to call David at least once every couple of months just to make sure everything was okay for them.
But thinking about it now, with her and Henry moving much more often and the crazy shooting schedules she’s always forced to adhere to, Emma can’t remember the last time she actually spoke with David.
“Aha!” She finds his number under the name Darlingest Charmsicle, the name she and another friend came up with when Mary Margaret first called David her “Prince Charming.” Before she can second guess herself, Emma presses the green call button and brings the phone up to her ear.
It rings and rings, and with each passing tone, she contemplates hanging up altogether. How long has it been since she talked to David? The longer she considers it, the more she wishes that the ringing would just end in an automated voicemail.
Alas, she’s never been that lucky in her life, for just as she senses the voicemail robot about to pick up, the man himself finally answers.
“Hello?”
“Hi David. It’s me,” she says meekly. Emma then starts to clarify. It’s not like she calls him every day. “It’s-”
“Emma,” he interrupts her happily. “God, how are you? How’s Henry? Is everything okay?”
The relief that floods her body is welcome, even if she didn’t realize how tense she was. “Yeah, everything’s fine with us. We’re down in Phoenix while I finish up a YouTube series.”
“That’s wonderful.”
“How about you guys?” she asks suggestively, settling her hip against the kitchen counter. “Heard through the grapevine that congratulations are in order?”
David chuckles. “Thank you. It was small, just us at the courthouse and family. Mary Margaret wanted to save some money and have a huge party instead without the trouble of an actual ceremony.” He sighs contently. “We got back from our honeymoon last week.”
“And how is marital bliss treating you two?”
“Perfectly.” And with that earnest sense of genuity he always manages to embody, David says, “She’s the love of my life and now I get to call her my wife.”
She can’t help the scoff that falls from her lips. He was always like this, even before he and Mary Margaret officially started dating. He just spewed chivalry helplessly and, just as uncontrollably, she always teased him back.
(Emma may not know how much time has passed since they’ve spoken, but falling back into old conversation habits makes her heart warm.)
“Aww, David, that’s so sweet, it makes me want to puke.”
“Ha, c’mon, you can’t expect me to say anything different.” They both laugh, and once they calm themselves, David asks, “So what has you calling me this late at night after so long?”
“Right, time zone, I forgot you two were on East Coast time.” She mentally scolds herself. Now she understands why he sounded a bit worried at the onset. It’s got to be close to 11 p.m. for him, and no good call comes that late at night.
“It’s fine, really,” he reassures her, “it’s not that late and we’re probably going to be up late anyways.”
Grimacing, and even physically recoiling, Emma mutters, “Gross.”
David sighs on the other end of the line. She can imagine him rubbing his forehead out of frustration. “Mary Margaret’s grading and I’ve got some pictures to edit.”
“Oh.” To be fair, she hadn’t explicitly been thinking about her friends crawling into bed together to dance the horizontal tango. Then again, what else do newlyweds do late at night?
Shaking her head to rid her mind of the image, she changes the subject to the real reason she dug so far into her contacts. “Well, Jefferson called me the other day.”
“Did he recruit you for the Maine trawling project?” he asks.
“Tried to. I still haven’t given him an answer yet.”
“I think it’s going to be fun,” David says. “I did a little bit of research on the town he wants to focus on and it’s…” He goes quiet before finding the word he wants: “Quaint.”
When he doesn’t explain further, she prompts him. “Meaning?”
“Small,” he says. “Real small. Everybody-knows-the-dirt-on-everybody small.”
“Oh,” she says softly. That could be both a blessing and a curse, given what’s happened to her in her life. She’s got secrets, just like everyone else, which could either stay excellently hidden or come out in a flash if the town’s anything like she’s imagining. The former would be her choice, but with all these strangers digging for information on the new folks in town…that latter one could be detrimental not only for her, but for Henry.
“It’s got its own harbor and a nice forest just outside of town,” David continues, oblivious to her inner turmoil. “We think it’d be a great place to raise a family. We’ve been in the city so long that we both kind of forget what it’s like to live like that.”
“Huh.” It’s all she can really say while processing her friend’s reasoning.
Seems solid enough.
“What’s keeping you from deciding, Emma?” David inquires. “Henry?”
She’s shaking her head before she realizes that his voice comes from the phone at her ear and not a physical being in front of her. “I told him about it and he didn’t say no off the bat, but…” Tongue poking out between her lips, she clucks at herself. “I feel bad. I’ve uprooted him too much in his life. I don’t want him to have to wait until college to make real friends.” And when she gets to the root of her problem, it hits her ton of bricks.
“I don’t want him to feel alone like I did,” she whispers.
“I’m sure he doesn’t, Emma.” Like it always was, David’s voice is calming. It keeps her from trying to strangle herself, her arm wrapping tightly around her waist. “He’s got you. And if you come out here, he’ll have us and Jefferson and Grace and the rest of the kids in town.” He pauses and she can’t tell if he’s trying to think of other benefits of this town or he’s run out of things completely. “If Henry says yes, then would you come?”
“Probably.” Emma shrugs and sighs. “I just want him to be happy, David.”
“I know, but don’t forget about your happiness as well,” he advises. That’s what he does: David always put things into perspective for her. “Look, I’ve gotta go, Emma. My wife is calling for me.”
Shuddering, Emma pushes off the counter and slowly makes her way back to Henry and his homework. “Ew, ew, I don’t want to know,” she mumbles. Then, more genuinely, she adds, “I’m glad you guys finally tied the knot. Tell Mary Margaret I say hi.”
“No problem. Good luck with the decision. Call me when you’ve made up your mind.”
“Okay. And David?” Emma hesitates to put her emotions into words, but if she doesn’t acknowledge the elephant on the line, she won’t be able to sleep soundly until she settles it. “Sorry I haven’t called in a while.”
She really is. It’s her fault, much like a lot of other things in her life, that they’ve gone so long without talking. Those first couple of weeks, maybe even months, after his graduation, David had tried to call her. Had called her maybe once a week, if not more. But the more time she spent with Henry, traveling around and looking for jobs to make ends meet, the less he tried to call until finally, one day, the calls stopped all together.
“Nothing to apologize for. I’m just glad you finally did.”
“Me too,” she says with a small smile.
“Goodnight,” David bids her.
“Night.”
Her conversation leaves her in a weird state of content and confused. David has a point in everything he said. But then again, she’s been on the move – or may be more accurately, on the run – for so long that even attempting to settle down would harm more than help her.
She ponders her friend’s words for another silent moment before clapping her hands and approaching Henry. The apartment has only grown darker while she spoke with David, so now the kitchen light dangling above her son is a spotlight on his apparent struggle.
“So how goes the homework?” she asks.
Henry leans forward and taps his head against the table before lolling it back to look at her upside down. “My brain is fried, I’m dying, all the blood is going to my stomach,” he groans. Throwing an arm haphazardly in the air, he has the gall to scold her. “See, this is what you get when you feed your son ice cream for dinner.”
“Uh, no,” she laughs aloud. “This is what you get when you claim an entire large pizza for yourself.” Gently, Emma pushes his head back up and sits down next to him. She peers over at the journal before him, half written thoughts on the lines and little doodles in the margins. “C’mon, this looks like a good start. Talk to me. Talk me through it.”
As Henry begins explaining the prompt, she tries – really tries – to focus on it. She wants to help her son with his report, but David’s words and Jeff’s offer still simmer in the back of her mind.
Seems like Henry isn’t the only one who can’t mold his thoughts into coherent ideas tonight.

Fanfiction Questions!
A great big thank you to @tohavealifetimeoffun for letting me use these! 1. What was the first fandom you got involved in? Heartland. 2. What is your latest fandom? White Collar! 3. What is the best fandom you've ever been involved in? The best? That's tough. That's really tough. But in the end I have to go with White Collar. 4. Do you regret getting involved in any fandoms? Nope. Not a single one. 5. Which fandoms have you written fanfiction for? Mainly White Collar because I only started posting just before getting into that fandom seriously. Before that, it was Avengers. 6. List your OTP from each fandom you've been involved in. Heartland: Ty/Amy Iron Man: Pepper/Tony Avengers: Tony/Steve Supernatural: Dean/Lisa (judge me all you want, destiel shippers) White Collar: Neal/Sarah but hell, its hard to choose between that and Neal/Peter because COME ON that show is practically throwing it at us! 7. List your NoTPs from each fandom you've been in. Hoboy... Heartland: Amy/Soraya Uncharted: Chloe/Nadene Iron Man: Pepper/Natasha Avengers: Clint/Laura (I'm sorry but I can't. I will die for Clintasha) White Collar: Neal/Jones (I've seen it, I respect it, I admire from a distance, but I can't. Same with Neal/Diana) 8. How did you get involved in your latest fandom? Well, it started when I stumbled upon it on Netflix and thought one of the guys on there looked cute (I'll let you guess which one) and so I started watching it only to get bored partway through and I went galavanting in the Avengers fandom for a few years before coming back like "Hey I never finished that". And here I've stayed ever since. Stuck. Thanks, Jeff Eastin. 9. What are the best things about your current fandom? Even though the show has ended, the White Collar fandom is still alive and active. Its like we all still stick together and keep track of what Matt Bomer is up to these days like "hey, The Last Tycoon! Also I just wrote another White Collar fic haha pry this show from my cold dead hands". 10. Is there a fandom you read fic from but don't write in? Nah, I don't stray far from White Collar. 11. Who is your current OTP? Gotta be Neal/Peter at the moment. I just love their bromance though. I know those two are like THE ship but I usually prefer Neal/Sarah, which for some reason isn't very well liked, I hear??? 12. Who is your current OT3? Um, the only OT3 I've ever had. Peter/Neal/El 13. Any NoTPs? Neal/Jones, Neal/June (what?), and I don't wanna say its a definite no, because I miiiiight consider Neal/Mozzie. And I have written Neal/Diana but I don't particularly like it. 14. Go on, who are your BroTPs? Peter/Neal of course, Neal/Mozzie 15. Is there any obscure ship that you love? Well not really. Neal/Kate, but I wouldn't call it obscure. 16. Are there any popular ships in your fandom which you dislike? Ehhhh not really. 17. Who was your first OTP and are they still your favorite? Ty/Amy from Heartland and yes, I still love those two to bits. 18. What ship have you written the most about? Steve/Tony. Funny since I started out HATING those two together and it was EVERYWHERE all up in my face but then next thing I know I've got like fifty stories about them 19. Is there a ship you wish you could get behind but you just don't feel them? Neal/Mozzie. 20. Any ships which you surprised yourself by liking? Peter/Neal/El, like I said. I like it, I do. I've just never had an OT3 before and I think that's what threw me off a bit. 21. What was the first fanfic you ever wrote? That would be a Heartland fic that took up an entire notebook. 22. Is there anything you regret writing? Eh... Sometimes. I regret writing things that I don't finish. 23. Name a fic you've written that you're especially fond of and explain why you like it. Neal Caffreys. Oh man I want to continue that little project forever. There are so many possibilities. 24. What fic so you desperately need to rewrite or edit? Ummmm probably Take Me Back To Normal. I need to offer more explanation and reason for my torture haha 25. What's your most popular fanfic? I haven't checked in a while but I believe it's Neal Caffreys. 26. How do you come up with your fanfic titles? Sometimes song lyrics or they just... come to me? 27. What do you hate more: coming up with titles or writing summaries? Summaries oh god... 28. If someone were to draw a piece of fan art for your story, which story would it be and what would the picture be of? Oooooooo It would be for a story that I'm currently working on (actually a chapter for Neal Caffreys but I really want to make it a full story) where Neal is a horseman. The picture would be Neal standing next to his horse, and the horse would look all badass and everything AGH! Please somebody. Also hey I do have a piece of fan art for my story Tale Me Back To Normal done by @kanarek13 and I love it so much 29. Do you have a beta reader? Why/Why not? I do not. I am very good with English and writing so I can edit my own stuff. In fact, I prefer to. It just kinda feels lazy to pass a piece off to someone else to do that for me. 30. What inspires you to write? Well watching the show helps. Also reading fanfiction. 31. What's the nicest thing that someone has ever said about your writing? Oh gosh, that they go back and read it all the time so I should never take it down. That just made me so happy to hear. 32. Do you listen to music when you write or does music inspire you? If so, which band of music/genre does it for you? I cannot listen to music when I write. I like to have quiet so I can picture what I want better. If I have music on, I just end up drowning it out anyway. But music itself does inspire me sometimes. 33. Do you write one-shots, multi-chapter fics, or huuuge epics? Oneshots are what I try to stick to, but the multi-chapter thing is also okay. Huge epics? Lol not so much 34. What's the word count on your longest fic? Oh man I gotta go look this up... 35,038 ...Holy crap 35. Do you write drabble? If so, what do you write them about? Hmmm I think I've written maybe two drabble fics? I don't do them often because I like my h/c action torture awfulness. But I do like to get in Neal's head. 36. What's your favorite genre to write? Everybody whose read any of my stuff already knows it's hurt/comfort and angsty things. 37. First person or third person- What do you write in and why? Third person preferably. I just like to get a wider perspective, but with third person, you can also hone in on individuals and their thoughts. 38. Do you use established canon characters or do you create OCs? Both? Obviously my fics are always almost 99% canon characters but I do have OCs that I like to slip in there. I have OCs that I use for RPing but you can find Finnigan Roderas here and there as well as Victor "Vito" Odell in For Your Entertainment. They're a couple of mine. I am a proud parent to at least three more. 39. What is your greatest strength as a writer? The way I can put myself in a scene and imagine all the details, mostly emotions, that go with it. 40. What do you struggle with the most in your writing? Well like I mentioned, I tend to write stories around one small thing I want to get out, and once that thing is out and I've created a mess, I just go "...what now? I didn't think this far ahead..." 41. List and link to five fanfics you are currently reading. Oh man I usually only read one at a time... But I'll put that one down and then add four that I read before it. Enemies http://archiveofourown.org/works/2290154 You Look Like A Koala http://archiveofourown.org/works/2329949 Somehow, Sundown http://archiveofourown.org/works/6159619 Wrong Time, Wrong Place http://archiveofourown.org/works/2435216 Love Lift Me Up http://archiveofourown.org/works/2503781 42. List and link to five fanfiction authors that are amazing. Now this I can do. pooh_collector http://archiveofourown.org/users/pooh_collector/pseuds/pooh_collector Sholio http://archiveofourown.org/users/Sholio/pseuds/Sholio Huntress79 http://archiveofourown.org/users/Huntress79/pseuds/Huntress79 Ashley5627 http://archiveofourown.org/users/Ashley5627/pseuds/Ashley5627 NYWCgirl http://archiveofourown.org/users/NYWCgirl/pseuds/NYWCgirl 43. Is there anyone in your fandom who really inspires you? Definitely @kanarek13 and @archivistsrock Also @hirunoka and all the anons who keep encouraging me to write and keep writing~ 44. What ship do you feel needs more attention? Mozzie/Gina 45. What is your all time favorite fanfic? A week ago, I wouldn't have been able to tell you, but then I found Out of the Wastes by Sholio and I can't tell you how much I love it. Seriously. Go check it out. 46. If someone was to read one of your fanfics, which fic would you recommend to them and why? Mmmmm... I don't know that I'd recommend any of them, but I guess Neal Caffreys is my pride and joy. That one. 47. Archive of our Own, Dreamwidth, LiveJournal, Fanfiction.net, or Tumblr- Where do you prefer to post and why? AO3 for sure. I like the setup and everyone on there seems nice so far (barring one strange incident). I used to post on FF but eh... A couple people on there really pissed me off. I'll leave it at that. 48. Do you care if people comment/reboot your writing? Why/Why not? I'm not sure what that means. Comments on my writing in a separate post? Rebooting my story to make a better version themselves? Idk I've never really experienced either of those things, if that's what this means. I guess maybe I wouldn't mind. Not sure. 49. How did you get into reading and/or writing fanfiction? I got into writing it first because the idea came to me all on its own and I thought I was a genius. Then I believe my dear friend @tfwhancock was like "let me show you FF" and I was stuck there for months. 50. Rant or hush about one thing you love or hate in the world of fanfiction! Go! I LOVE THAT IT EXISTS OH MY GOD YES I love that I can use characters that I love and write them and make them do what I want and just AGHHGGH I LOVE IT SO MUCH. It's so fun and exciting and just reading what people come up with is the most amazing thing! When you have to stop reading and just appreciate a line or a phrase like "oh that's good" Mmmmm love me that feeling~ Tagging: anyone who wants to do this!

off the rack #1302
Monday, February 24, 2020
Jee-Riz will be busy the next couple of weekends. We will be at the Jim Durrell Arena for the Capital Trade Show on Sunday, March 1. Stop by our tables for some comic books at bargain basement prices. Then we'll set up at the Delta Hotel for the Capital Comic Book Con on Sunday, March 8. This is where we'll have our premiere selection of back issues for sale. I hope the old bod can handle all that lifting.
Runaways #30 - Rainbow Rowell (writer) Andre Genolet (art) Dee Cunniffe (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). The Runaways' stint as the J-Team seems to be winding down with the revelation that their leader and benefactor is nothing more than an old glory hound. Unfortunately, one of them might be paying the ultimate price. Talk about a cliffhanger ending.
Legion of Super-Heroes #4 - Brian Michael Bendis (writer) Ryan Sook & Mikel Janin (pencils) Wade von Grawbadger & Mikel Janin (inks) Jordie Bellaire (colours) Dave Sharpe (letters). We interrupt this origin story of the Legion of Super-Heroes for a very important message about Aquaman's trident. I want to know who has it.
The Red Mother #3 - Jeremy Haun (writer) Danny Luckert (art) Ed Dukeshire (letters). Man, I love this fantasy/mystery. The art is gorgeous. The main character Daisy is intelligent. I want to help her figure out what's going on with the red visions. This is a comic book that I think more people should be buying.
Conan the Barbarian #13 - Jim Zub (writer) Roge Antonio (art) Israel Silva (colours)
VC's Travis Lanham (letters). Part one of "Into the Crucible" finds Conan trapped in a maze with other warriors. There are death traps at every turn. The surprise on the last page was a shock and it made me want to read the next issue as soon as possible.
Archie #711 - Mariko Tamaki & Kevin Panetta (writers) Laura Braga (art) Matt Herms (colours) Jack Morelli (letters). I don't watch the CW TV shows but I do like the comic books. The teenage angst and drama makes me cringe sometimes but the art right now is what's keeping me coming back for more each issue.
The Old Guard: Force Multiplied #3 - Greg Rucka (writer) Leandro Fernandez (art) Daniela Miwa (colours) Jodi Wynne (letters). This is another comic book that I think more people should be buying. Andromache (Andy for short) and her immortal pals are ambushed by someone from her past. We're talking way past. Centuries. If you can't find these on the racks right now, wait and buy the trade. You won't be disappointed.
Daredevil #18 - Chip Zdarsky (writer) Jorge Fornes (art) Nolan Woodard (colours) VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). I like the leaner, meaner Owl that wants to be kingpin of Hell's Kitchen. He's going to have a hard time taking control with the hired muscle that the Stromwyns have hitting the streets. I'm calling them Marvel's Fatal Five.
Batman #89 - James Tynion IV (writer) Carlo Pagulayan, Guillem March & Danny Miki (art) Tomeu Morey (colours) Clayton Cowles (letters). Speculators are all drooling because this issue features the first appearance of the Joker's newest main squeeze. She appears in two panels in extreme close-up so we don't know what she looks like or who she is. Harley's here too but she's a good guy now. I'm more curious to find out who the Designer is and how he's connected to Catwoman.
Fantastic Four #19 - Dan Slott (writer) Sean Izaakse (art) Marcio Menyz & Erick Arciniega (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). The conclusion of "Point of Origin" starts off with a prelude to the next adventure for the team back on Earth. Meanwhile 44 light years away, Reed and the Overseer of Spyre engage in fisticuffs but then have a Kumbaya moment that made me roll my eyes. All is well that ends well for their space adventure and so it's homeward bound with an extra passenger, Johnny's soul mate Sky from Spyre. The next story has some classic FF characters that we haven't seen in a while. I'm looking forward to it.
Valkyrie #8 - Jason Aaron & Torunn Gronbekk (writers) Cafu (art) Jesus Aburtov (colours) VC's Joe Sabino (letters). A new story starts here featuring All-Father Thor. A darkness deep within the earth threatens to overwhelm the planet. Val and Thor dig deep to find it and uh-oh. Resistance is futile. The Anti-Life is a new Norse myth that we haven't seen yet. I want to know who set it off. No, it's not Darkseid.
Wolverine #1 - Fans have been clamouring for the mutant runt to get his own book again and here it is. The big $7.99 US number one has two complete stories. One is a mystery and the other is Wolverine doing what he does best.
"The Flower Cartel" by Benjamin Percy (writer) Adam Kubert (art) Frank Martin (colours) and VC's Cory Petit (letters) has Wolverine and X-Force tracking down stolen shipments of Krakoan drugs. The trail leads to Alaska and someone named The Pale Girl.
"Catacombs" by Benjamin Percy (writer) Viktor Bogdanovic (art) Matthew Wilson (colours) and VC's Cory Petit (letters) sends Wolverine to Paris where he meets vampire killer Louise that sets up a confrontation with Dracula. Hordes of vampires are dispatched.
The Pale Girl intrigues me more than Dracula but I don't know which story will continue in #2. The stories don't seem to be related so we'll have to wait and see.
DCeased: Unkillables #1- Tom Taylor (writer) Karl Mostert (pencils) Trevor Scott, Neil Edwards & John Livesay (inks) Rex Lokus (colours) Saida Temofonte (letters). This 3-issue mini has a DCU infested with the Anti-Life Virus. It's DC heroes and villains fighting zombies featuring the uninfected Jason Todd/ Red Hood and Cassandra Cain/Batgirl for the good guys and Deathstroke and Vandal Savage for the bad guys. The art is very nice and I'm a fan of Tom's writing so I'm going to keep reading.
Plunge #1 - Joe Hill (writer) Stuart Immonen (art) Dave Stewart (colours) Deron Bennett (letters). I wasn't going to read this new DC Black Label book until I saw Stuart Immonen's name in the credits. I love his art. This is a story about a marine disaster way up near the Arctic Circle. There's a ghost ship, scientists and seas creatures. The marine biologist in me is curious.
Guardians of the Galaxy #2 - Al Ewing (writer) Juann Cabal (art) Federico Blee (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). Well that didn't take long. The team's mission to save the galaxy from dark Zeus and save Hercules ends with the threat neutralised and a surprise sacrifice. Tears are shed. I'm not worried though. Rocket didn't die on the last mission.
Marauders #8 - Gerry Duggan (writer) Stefano Caselli (art) Edgar Delgado (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). Bishop retrieves the dead mutant from last issue with the help of Iceman, who takes some revenge on the humans. Storm takes the death hard as well but to me it's just empty theatrics because every mutant can be brought back to life. I'm just wondering if there will be changes to this hero when they're resurrected.
Joker: Killer Smile #3 - Jeff Lemire (writer) Andrea Sorrentino (art) Jordie Bellaire (colours) Steve Wands (letters). The good Doctor Ben succumbs to the Joker's mind games and helps the clown prince of crime escape from Arkham Asylum. There was one part of the story that bugged me even though I understood the urgency of Batman going to save the doctor's family. Other than that, this was a good psychological thriller.

My name is Dennis.
I have been writing about a large group of people making my life miserable. It is the worst kept secret in america. I have paper notes written from about 15 yrs ago and the google site itself is around 10 yrs old. it is thousands of pages in text and includes audio notes and images as well as some video which is listed on youtube. there are slightly more than 400 or so different sites and the most recent sites are at monthly site addresses, ie may2019. the specific site of the most recent site is at https://sites.google.com/site/dwdelaneymay2019 and the first site is at https://sites.google.com/site/dwdelaney/ . I ve tried to get peoples attention with the site and had hoped it might make the people that are doing this to me to stop, it hasnt. lots of other sites, wordpress, flickr, tumblr, google photos, instagram.
I had mistakenly thought i could shame them into stopping. I cannot. please help me.
5/24
Ive tried everything i can think of. I cant get an acct on twitter or snapchat or some of the other sites because i dont have a phone. I dont have a phone because i dont have any money. Ive been as clear and loud as i can possibly be. What ive been saying, ive been saying for along time. From what i understand, the defs are using the addiction frame as an excuse to make me live like this. They know it isnt true. I know it isnt true. The defs believe it doesnt need to be true in order to justify doing this to me. Ive written on this a lot, and for along time. I dont have anything to add here thats new. Some things have changed, perhaps. Regardless i will say what ive been saying. The po - . they busted hard. They knew theyd lose all along. Car talk - theyre on tape - on they radio. Talking about hitting me with chem. Not therapy. Not medicine. They arent fooling anyone with that nonsense. The evidence was cringeworthy good. Now the defs wont abide by the judgement. Po wont enforce because they are a named party. They are on the front page of the court documents. On the defendant side. They cant even pretend to be impartial. They dont have to. You cant police the police if theres no one to enforce the judgement. Wheres those handcuffs nancy. This thing has been going way too long. Before the legal complaint, 15 yrs ago. Before the page was started 10 yrs ago. The doj has changed administrations and tried to sabotage my case by influencing my individual actions and my thought process itself. I am subject to involuntary communication, i believe, while i sleep. I think this is i am kept, not just homeless, but outdoors homeless. I have reason to believe these communications have been used to attempt to weaken my case and used in combination with other strategies i encounter in my waking hour. The cocaine on the trash bags, back when i was led to believe that buying my food would risk forfeiting my case. This was itself used to bolster the addiction frame. Its worth pointing out im not addicted to anything, including cocaine, when maybe i should be. The fact that im not is the strongest possible evidence against the defs - and their bogus addiction. I ought to be suing the rouge partisans at doj for trying to get me addicted. Like those people making money off the opioid addicts. The people doing this to are not average people. They are experts in psychology and pain. That means chemistry, pest control, medicine and chemical warfare. It is particularly troubling that i believe dod, po, dod po which is mp are involved. Note esp rel b/t pols and dod - in ing - 33rd - esp il adj gen - and links to cl&e. Note esp austin is adj gen and ierc and scrp - politically this works w/ caths as well - as a social net that means kcs - and karl kemme - karlihker - etc. the link between the po and ing/scrp is strong - keen - gillette - all the evidence on spddefendants, scsodefendants, scrping, good example is sideshow bob, the knight mgr - social nets - get aux police status - chem - boesdorfer - steil was 3d shift - when he was pulled it gives a good window into the timeline. Note how things happen in sangamon county. All the names match up. Bob is russes brother - or his kid or something. Steil is irvs boy. The arson frame lets him mobilize ffs to hit me with chem as fire prevention. The shifts are 24 hrs - so they have lots fof time - xa clutzo - pest control - chem - note esp steil goes to iema - sticfusion - xa fema and iema - extraordinary powers - and note po and addiction frame - mrt and dirt - stone in derd - nix alums - team nix - chigop - rummy as rep - h/k - huizenga - note timeline on isp addiction - mrt - starts when i get into town - blago - gnuteck - cl&e sandbags jbt - roth dragoo - teaparty - the teaparty are way into the dwdelaney fun. And they have used gov as an excuse to have me as their entertainment. Thats why i argued 1983 - due process. Equal protection. The po is in the thing big. And they wojcocki at sheriffs. That doesnt know anything about law enforcement. Hes never spent a day of his life as a cop. He edited the spfld dio newsletter - and ringeisen created a job for hin uis lobbyist. Because he knows people. Hes got clout, power that he holds personally. Note esp wojcocki is ilsen, the woman from lg. And the woj fam link to albx - albanese - who, himself is linked to mgraw the mcds mgr in town. Mgraw owned the stores where certain inds worked - sixth st - macarthur/lg - several other. Mrt and dirt was po - and note caths are specifically involved in addiction frame from spk. And that followed me to spfld - they hit me really bad in spk with chem. They also physically hit me. Some guy ive never seen before just punched me in the nose twice, broke my nose, got the xrays and everything, and a car pulls up, a door opens, he walks up to the car and gets in. i got the plate, filed a report. I cant remeber how many i have filed reports and nothing ever happens. Dont know what to think of the inginspk stuff. I think they called me a pow and did sere pychology in order to justify hitting me with dod product chem. Chemical warfare materials and tactics. For fun, how to train your dragon. And i got to put up with pictures of groundhog day on the natl rev instagram page. FU. they know the addiction frame is bogus, but i guess the wh believes it is within the power of executive branch to make up some excuse in order to keep me living like this. I can have my life back when i give up my case. Shave and a hair cut . i have been thinking about this thing all wrong. Its all one big misunderstanding, they were really just trying to help me out. What with me being an addict and all.
First, the defs watch everything i do, every footstep, listen to every word. I write the page. They read. I filed a lawsuit against exactly what they are doing, with them as named defendants. How can they possibly say i consent. And they lost. Right. Also, note that the theres an element of txgop prank here. The jail - the charge b & e. Tx fam johnson. Designated as a pow - enemy combatant - lone wolf terr - spfld radio kelm - chatham package - lon chainey - chi football - monsters of the midway - romney from bain capital - bain is chigop - wolf bane - rabbit - bunny - bunny bread - bct - bread truck drivers - lfmc - sixth st - scb - pambianco - spfld roadrunners - sjh - hic - centaurs - shs - ackerman - terry nelson - duane gibson - -brooks bros - irv - stone - suncruz - palm - charlotte - ann colder - stuck in galv - halliburton - longies - ororke - obscen phone calls - gwb admin - agag - perry homicidal threats frame - xa rice arroz - night owls - smu - american graffitti - ron howard - happy daze - 123 oclock - 4 more years - haley barber - nicky haley - mark few - mark denzler - thers also shark smear linked to dads fam. Grandma remarries someone that has an adult son that works at the post. Never met the guy. Thats what the glasses thing is about. All this was supposed to be unearthed by the counterintel inv. But that was just cover for the fact they busted so hard. They got nothing. They had to find a reason to stall. The po wont enforce. The caths run it. Note usccb and h/k - esp the time period i leave ftl for spk  - and note what happens when i get back to spfld. The thing  with them putting me in jail. The cocaine on the floors and walls. Thats also the psych frame. Thats why the dude from efe - sc wants to use mental illness as an excuse for “treatment”. Its chem. Designed as poison and used to make me hurt and keep me from getting sleep - lincoln era gop - jeffe ron - whigs - ipi - peeps - humint - social network - fraternal orgs - shriners - fop - unions - sports - shgfootball - esp kcs - but see also - roa - ngaoi - teaparty - note esp link b/t - ilfop and ilroa - ilfop and ngaoi - xa ilfop pence link - gregorian chant - trumpence - baiseboll - kingmakers - mel sembler - rauner - paprocki - sembler seed - ftl - principles bldg next to apt in ftl - carlyle - bush - cia - clockwork orange - vala - guards - 233mp - 33 hq guards - jeepsters - crep - airport guards - and fd - xa scso - swat - tru - cit - and see names of people linked to dirt and mrt - esp eric hall - auburn - boesdorfer - boes link to mta - jasmon - nifong - trucks - coal trucks - tx ata - tex mex - job at shim factory - ed smith is tx liuna - furman milburn - furman schuh - txgop - mighty muffler - galv usarec - deps used to do ops - wal emps - note esp dunks spkr at conv for trademark - takes opportunity to spk to state that their largest competitor is political. Unsolicited on the topic, former bain emp says be happy. That has a very specific meaning for some readers - xa wal - omnimedia - terry nelson - duane gibson - bc04 - kjell - swift - blessing - ilgop - xa carlyle - txgop - dutton - bonilla - charles s dutton - the cover of the  natl rev features - duane - the rock - johnson - txgop prank - not treatment - trick - xa aches - hh’s - jc - chamber - bob has a gavel collection - chamber ic - xa chamber trucks - mta - the addiction thing is like all the other stuff - all whisper campaign. No one says anything to me. I wrote up a website on wordpress - 953 - just on consent - they know i dont consent. Theyre not trying to listen. They dont have to. It doesnt matter. There is nothing i can say or do thats going to make them stop. Its not about addiction. They needed time to stall. Time too marginalize me. They can claim they killed my grandparents. They can claim im a ntional security threat. The fact is they dont have to prove any of this stuff. They knew theyd lose. And after they lost, they knew they would keep me living exactly the same way for as long as they wanted. It never made any difference. They joke about the whole thing - which is exactly what put them in this spot from the beginning. They cant admit what they did in sangamon county. To me. Then they followed me to florida, washington state, tx, and ive been in lots of different states now. They cant admit that they have been wrong. And as long as they dont have to - they wont. What they are doing to me is wrong. They know it. Or they should know it. They cant stop. Who is going to be the first person to blow this story up - because its coming - this is the worst kept secret in america. Its coming
cartalk – po is busted – radio communications show that po not trying to “treat” some sort of medical problem. that evidence was one of the things that made the defendants lose as badly as they did. if that ev was to leak, then the doj is wrong for it getting out. the po is wanting to have it both ways.
they wont enforce the judgment, against themselves. they have instead, decided to protect their political patrons and themselves and openly have defied the rule of law. rather than doing the job that everyone in america thinks they are doing, “law enforcement”, they have a more enlightened view of what their job is. look out for number 1.

Text for cartalk - veritas - havent taken site because - runs into 1a issues - and cant arg civil defam - because what im saying is true - theyd have to arg on the merits - they dont want that - they lost - in court - but the wits cant speak in public - thats what the defs are betting on - thats why the po isnt enforcing - and they knew theyd lose all along - they cant even pretend to be impartial - they are named parties in the litigation. 1983 - due process - equal protection - and see esp - dod - mp - color - vigilantism - aux police - kcs - deps - usarec - note esp 233 - gillette - keen - fuel specialists - but see also corp - mcds - abe lincoln cab - wal - etc.
po is involved in mental illness frame - and addiction frame - they lost at trial - trying to argue that - based at least in part - upon recorderd communications between dispatch and squads - as well as comms b/t squads/ offcrs - and inds - phone convs in squads - as well as ind testimony - wits - addiction frame is - bo - gus - ive tried a lot of different social media sites. Google sites - dwdelaney - google photo - flickr - wordpress - medium - instagram - imgur - tumblr - youtube - I cant access the sites that require a phone like twitter, facebook etc. I cant even get an “obamaphone” because im homeless and my id wont register when i try to apply. I have try to say that i dont consent as loudly and as often as i can. They know its bogus. But you see the new statue in front of the alplm and the cover on the natl rev and you hear wh flacks say they think the pres can continue doing whats hes doing under article 2 exec power. It has been suggested that the doj picked up my case as a civil rts case and they won. Then i guess a new admin comes in and wants to blow up my case as its being appealed. Defs lose all appeals. Po and gop wont stop. They want to stall out and force me to concede consent. Schaive and a haircut - they might have some legal authority to do this to me. I dont understand how thats possible. I dont understand how i can be forced to live like this. It should stop. Ive been trying to say that. Someones not trying to hear me.

Update 2019
inducements
Basis of the claim - the original complaint mentioned the 1983 - due process and equal protection claims. I also plead a rico charge under a civil liability theory. In order to make this thing happen, the defs have recruited participants with the promise of a job, a promotion, overtime hours, or other such inducements. Conversely, those refusing to participate, or those that had been involved, but had decided to stop or speak out against the defs, have faced penalties in wages, hours etc. In particular, in order for this to continue, defs have directed these specific retaliatory measures toward witnesses for the government, the plaintiff, me, as well as those that might even consider such a position. The evidence for this is without question. These individuals have faced tangible losses in income, threatened with long term unemployment in their chosen field and have also endured significant social and peer pressure as well. Those defs that are employed in intelligence, either as analysts or within collection or any number of different technical specialties, were pressured to participate in, what was knowingly illegal activity, fucking with me, ie. identity theft, aggravated battery etc. They were forced to use gov authority to fuck with me. The defs witheld hiring people that wouldnt participate. This could itself form another rico type allegation under a theft of services legal theory. Its not all fun and games. Its misuse of gov legal authority. It specifically benefits the defs in that it is also a demonstration of power. As such, it can be used to recruit in the future and prevent opposition on any number of different fronts. The misuse of authority, in my case, gets them more power. The baines thing and the nixon thing both are directed by elements within the group of defendants that are in direct political opposition to themselves. Txgop, would benefit, in a very real way from destroying my life, under some bogus claim linking me to a prominent figure within the txdems. Similarly, the nixon smear, or the wp smear, demonizes me and mobilizes forces that are politically opposed to their real or perceived agenda. Im trying to figure out why this thing wont stop. I guess there was a case, the defs lost. Po wont enforce. I cant tell whats true. I have a lot of people tell me a lot of different things. In order for this to happen, some things have to be true.a large group of very powerful people is behind this. This is the worst kept secret in america. I shouldnt have to live like this.

Sheriff disbanding DIRT, warrant teams
By JAYETTE BOLINSKI ([email protected])
THE STATE JOURNAL-REGISTER

Last update Jul 09, 2009 @ 06:40 AM
Sangamon County deputies whose primary roles involve rooting out drugs and searching for fugitives are being reassigned to patrol duty as the sheriff’s office struggles to plug a budget shortfall.
Sheriff Neil Williamson said Wednesday that, while he hopes the teams can be reformed in the future, it is unclear when that might happen. Next year’s budget already “is looking grim also,” he said.
Five deputies are affected by the change.
*Lt. Brian Bressan and deputies
*Jason Boesdorfer and
Kenny Karhliker
make up the sheriff’s Drug Investigative Response Team,
while deputies
Matt Lorton and
Jim Tapscott,
the sheriff’s warrant team, are on loan to the U.S.
Marshals’ fugitive task force.
All five will be back on the street effective July 20.
The sheriff’s office previously disbanded its crime prevention unit as part of its budget-cutting efforts. Williamson said he was asked to trim $850,000 from his budget because of the county’s “severe financial constraints.”
He called the warrant and drug teams “two of the most successful units we’ve had” and said disbanding them was one of the hardest decisions he’s had to make in his 15 years as sheriff. However, Williamson said, he is doing everything possible to avoid layoffs.
He also expressed concern that crime could escalate as a result of the cuts. The office will have to react more to crime now, rather than being able to take preventive steps.
“We are getting back to the basics of what a sheriff’s department is supposed to do,” he said.
The sheriff’s warrant team was formed in July 2000 and supplied two deputies to the U.S. Marshals’ fugitive task force. Since the warrant team was formed, more than 4,900 fugitives have been captured, Williamson said.
The team’s disbanding means the sheriff’s office no longer will have representatives on the fugitive task force.
The DIRT team was formed in July 2004 in response to what was at the time a growing methamphetamine problem in Sangamon County. The team made numerous meth-related arrests in its first two years, which Williamson said drastically curbed the local meth industry.
The DIRT team has made about 1,700 drug-related arrests since its inception.

DRUG TRAFFICKING FRAME
DIRT - BIG PICTURE
- See also "timeline" – big picture
(Drug frame as excuse for harassment)
First, note hall rumor of cocaine use. I’ve Never done cocaine in my life. Second, I was set up in san diego to make it look like I was involved in my brother’s drug use and sales. Afl-cio internship puts me in san diego, where only person I know is Delong. He is staying in an apartment where, I find out later, although not living there and rarely seen, the leaseholder is Pennell. I’m in san diego and Johnny comes out to san diego, where I find out he’s buying and selling cocaine. I tell him to stop and he ignores me. He gets busted. He goes to jail. I’ve been staying at kennedy house and working day labor after the last election when Johnny says he getting out on probation but he needs a California address before they let him out on probation. I don’t have near enough to get my own place and Johnny says I can use his account, which had, I think, a little less than two thousand dollars in it. I find the place on broadway, in the gaslamp, very cheap. By the time I pay first and last months rent and security deposit, I’ve taken out all but a couple hundred dollars. He’s pretty upset about this at the time. Anyway, I think the whole putting me in san diego with Johnny thing and then him getting busted in san diego while I’m there and then me needing a place for him was pre-planned. Somebody knew I would have to use johnny’s account to get a place and that this could be used to justify harassment by scso back in springfield. Even with that as an excuse, the officers on the DIRT squad still went way beyond the scope of their authority in using vehicle exhaust to prevent sleep and cause pain and were involved in getting pedophilia frame arranged.
The background of the officers illustrates why they were chosen.

OPERATIONS DIVISION Captain Cheryllynn Williams
In 2017, there were 41,344, incidents in Sangamon County where deputies either initiated a law enforcement service or were dispatched to a call.
There was a lot of movement in the operations division in 2017. In April, Will Brooks, Jordan Cox, and Ryan Kuntzi were hired as a Sangamon County Deputies. Deputy Brooks began the Field Training Program immediately due to prior law enforcement training, and Deputies Cox and Kuntzi began the Illinois State Police Recruit Class. Sergeant Andy Danes was transferred from second shift to the Investigations Division in August. Detective Nancy Finley was promoted to Sergeant and transferred to second shift. Deputy Travis Dalby was transferred from second shift to Crime Prevention in March. Deputy Andrew Brashear was transferred from first shift to the Investigations Division in November.
In June, Deputy Knox retired after 25 years of service. His humor and kindness will be missed.

Taylorville man launches run for state House seat
Herald & Review (Decatur, IL) - Tuesday, September 19, 1995
Author: SARAH ANTONACCI ; H&R Taylorville Bureau Chief
TAYLORVILLE -A 26-year-old Taylorville resident announced his bid for the state House of Representatives seat occupied by Democrat Rep. Gary Hannig of Benld. Rodney Davis , a Republican, is a Taylorville High School and Millikin University graduate. He said he wants to build careers in the 98th District -not just jobs. He plans on doing so by being a leader where there has been a “fundamental lack of leadership.” Davis noted that communities in the 98th District -which includes all or parts of Christian, Macoupin, Madison Montgomery and Shelby counties -have suffered economically. “I will work to put together a jobs and employment program: an economic development plan which will work to retain, as well as attract, businesses and economic growth, which our area needs to prosper,” he said. One of Davis’ top priorities, he said, is to advance Project 29. He said he is familiar with the death and destruction that has occurred on Illinois 29, a highway he drives every day to his job at the Secretary of State’s Office in Springfield. “I want to make sure the funding comes along for the next phases in a more timely manner,” he said. “I think there’s more bureaucracy going on than needs to be. “Being a part of the bureaucracy in Springfield has given me a bird’s eye view of what kinds of waste occur there,” Davis said. “We need leadership to fight it.” Davis has been a Republican precinct committeeman in Taylorville since 1991.
He served as regional director of the
Illinois Young Republicans
and now serves as the group’s statewide secretary.
His wife, Shannon, also is a longtime Taylorville resident.

SHIMKUS MAKES APPOINTMENTS TO ROUND OUT STAFF
State Journal-Register, The (Springfield, IL) - Thursday, January 2, 1997
Soon-to-be U.S. Rep. JOHN SHIMKUS' office staff is getting much of its manpower from a couple of sources -- Secretary of State GEORGE RYAN's office and the recent legislative campaign of RODNEY DAVIS . Shimkus, R-Collinsville, who will be sworn in Tuesday to a two-year term representing the 20th Congressional District, earlier named two ex-Ryan staffers -- CRAIG ROBERTS and BRAD CARLSON -- to be his Washington, D.C.-based chief of staff and Springfield-based deputy chief of staff, respectively. Roberts was campaign chairman for DAVIS, a Taylorville resident who lost to Democrat GARY HANNIG, D-Litchfield, in the 98th House District in November.
Davis himself will become the Springfield-based personnel director for Shimkus. His job will also include handling the office budget and doing constituent work, Roberts said. Davis' campaign manager was MATT JOHNSON, 24, of Springfield, who is leaving his job on Ryan's program staff to become a junior legislative assistant in Shimkus' Washington office. He's also the son of
BARRY JOHNSON, lobbyist for the Illinois Lumber & Material Dealers Association. Shimkus' Illinois press aide will be STEVE TOMASZEWSKI of Nashville, the Washington County GOP chairman, who has been working as an auditor for Ryan. Tomaszewski generally oversaw Shimkus campaign operations in Washington, Marion, Jefferson and Clinton counties, Roberts said, and his family owns the Nashville Times newspaper. Davis, Johnson and Tomaszewski will all make salaries in the mid-$30,000s, Roberts said. The Springfield office should be open within days at Sixth and Madison streets, Roberts said. Also working there will be MARY ELLEN MADONIA, 26, who was finance director for the Shimkus campaign. She'll become as a $33,000 district aide. "I took a big risk in working for John, but I believed in him," said Madonia, who left a Sangamon County job to join the campaign. "I'm just fortunate that the voters felt the same way." Madonia is daughter of Springfield City Treasurer JUDY MADONIA. Among other Shimkus employees:
DORA ROHAN of Collinsville, who has been Shimkus' secretary in his six years as Madison County treasurer, will run his Collinsville office;
STEVE MADDEN, a recent law school graduate from Springfield who volunteered on the Shimkus campaign, will be a junior legislative assistant in Washington;
MARY BALLARD, formerly with Modern Mailing Systems Inc. of Springfield, who handled Shimkus mailings, will be constituent coordinator for offices in Springfield and Collinsville and a part-time office in Centralia;
CHERYL CRATE, who has worked in Washington for U.S. Rep. TOM COBURN, R-Okla., will be Shimkus' legislative director, bringing with her experience on the staff of the Commerce Committee, where Shimkus will serve; and
DAN BLANKENBURG, who has been a junior legislative assistant to U.S. Rep. TOM EWING, R-Pontiac, will be a senior legislative assistant for Shimkus. Shimkus, meanwhile, will no longer be Madison County treasurer after today, and he's feeling a bit nostalgic about his six years in county office. He said he was "pretty depressed" working in an almost empty office, and noted that six years was the longest he's ever stayed at the same job. "I'm excited about the opportunities ahead of me, but I've fought some good battles here," he said. He's hoping that Democratic Madison County Board Chairman RUDY PAPA, a Democrat, will appoint the chief deputy in the treasurer's office, WES TUCKER, to the post.

BUT I EXPECT THEM TO BE WRITTEN AS THIN ENOUGH SKINS THAT USERS CAN SEE THE RESULTS IN ORDER OF HOW MUCH ADVERTISERS BID AS OVERTURE DID BUT IN ORDER OF HOW MUCH ADVERTISERS BID AS OVERTURE DID BUT IN ORDER OF HOW MUCH ADVERTISERS BID AS OVERTURE DID BUT IN ORDER OF THE BID TIMES THE NUMBER OF SUCH DOMAINS IS SO LARGE THAT YOU CAN FIND JUST ONE USER WHO REALLY NEEDS SOMETHING AND CAN ACT ON THAT NEED, YOU'VE GOT A TOEHOLD IN MAKING SOMETHING PEOPLE WANT
The Fortran branch, for example. And they don't; they've made sure of that. When the thing we want is something we want to be in a place where there was infrastructure for startups, accumulated knowledge about how to cure it. Part of the reason I just explained: startups take over your life for a lot of time on them before realizing they're bad. Except in special kinds of applications, parallelism won't pervade the programs that are written in a hundred years will have languages that can span most of it.1 Err on the side of speaking slowly. To a scientist, at least de facto, expected to prepare them for their careers. You can be a really good deal. But perhaps the biggest thing preventing founders from realizing how attentive they could be to their users is that they've never experienced such attention themselves. Perhaps it's in the sweet spot midway between.2
The reason is not just a permissible technique for getting growth rolling. Their tactics in pushing you down that slope are usually fairly brutal. Among other things, there will be demand for a cheaper alternative to something popular, if you did a really good job, you could make a language that makes programmers do needless work. Instead of having both lists and strings, have just lists, with some way to give the compiler optimization advice that will allow it to lay out strings as contiguous bytes if necessary. Some say it's impossible, others say it's obvious. But cluttered sites are bad anyway, so perhaps you should use this opportunity to make your design simpler.3 In software, especially, you often find yourself working on stuff you don't really like, and grad school is thus synonymous with procrastination. Perfectionism is often an excuse for procrastination, and in any case your initial model of users is always inaccurate, even if you're one of them the top one shockingly inefficient, and the market picks the winners. But don't spend more than a way to play chicken with the future. Things are different now, of course. And I admit that it is, if you preserve the qualities that made it popular.
I can remember taking all the spaces out of my Basic programs so they would fit into the memory of a 4K TRS-80.4 A lot of the change was due to legislation, of course. The average teenage kid has a pretty much infinite capacity for talking to their friends. Consider libraries: they're reusable because they're language, whether they're written in an object-oriented programming in the 1980s, and no amount of evidence to the contrary seems to be a good founder.5 The need to do more than chat and seem smart and reasonable. There are two reasons founders resist going out and engaging in person with users made the difference between the people who'd been out in the world for a while and had presented to groups, and those who hadn't. I've met a lot of words on a slide, people just skip reading it. But now that I've realized what's going on, perhaps there's a third option: to write something explaining the two types of schedule. Informal language is the athletic clothing of ideas.
Don't worry if your company is doing. We'll increasingly be defined by what we say no to. If someone were creating an Internet-based TV company from scratch now, they might have some plan for shows aimed at specific regions, but it is true that there are a handful of writers who can get away with refusing to debate. There are only two things you need initially: an idea and cofounders. Even one sentence of this would raise eyebrows in conversation. In the unlikely case that you're 20 and one of your most powerful weapons, I think you might be able to resist, or at least postpone, turning into managers, just as they will ignore advantages to be got from specific representations of data. If I met an undergrad who knew all about convertible notes and employee agreements and God forbid class FF stock, I wouldn't think here is someone who is way ahead of their peers. The third reason computers won is piracy. But that prescription, though sufficient, is too narrow.
Back when hardware startups had to rely on investors for money, you had to get over to start a startup one day, what should you do in college is learn powerful things. The feedback you get from engaging directly with your earliest users will be the best you ever get. You can meet someone just to get to know one another.6 Inevitably, the people running the networks will take the easy route and try to keep the old model running for a couple more years, just as newspapers that put their stories online still seem to believe that a partnership with a big company, any number of random factors could sink you before you can finish. In theory this is possible for species too, but it's close enough that you're better off aiming for the solid target of brevity than the fuzzy, nearby one of least work.7 Practically every successful startup, including stars like Google, that will push the stuff you want investors to remember out of their way to make viewers watch TV synchronously instead of watching recorded shows when it suited them. The word essay comes from the city's prudent Yankee character. Facebook all got started.8 You can't look a big problem too directly in the eye. Will we replace hash tables themselves with lists?9
I can offer is the hopelessly question-begging advice that if you wanted to you could stop thinking about it at that point. The way to come up with good startup ideas is to take a step back. Clinton just seemed more dynamic. What founders have a hard time grasping and Steve himself might have had trouble. Perfectionism is often an excuse for procrastination, and in every single case the founders say the same thing. Most powerful people are on the manager's schedule. But unless you've had a very strange life you haven't done much that was like being a startup founder.
These two senses are already quite far apart. The manager's schedule is that they understand the cost. Happens all the time they spent on it will be at the end of a long and unbelievably distracting process.10 The more of your software will be reusable. The reason it pays to put off even those errands is that real work needs two things errands don't: big chunks of time are at the end of my day these meetings are never an interruption. Obviously it has to be for multiple millions of dollars, if possible. And I know Brian Chesky and Joe Gebbia didn't feel like they were en route to the big time as they were then called, but in effect I had two workdays each day, one on the manager's schedule. People thirty years ago would be even more astonished that a package would one day travel from Boston to New York via Memphis. Chasing down all the implications of what's said to you can sometimes get away with doing by hand things that you plan to make money, but mainly because it shows you care about that and have thought about it. Users prefer it not just because it's free, but because they felt it was really for them, a critical mass of them signed up.
Notes
There are two very different types of publishers would be much bigger news, in virtue of Aristotle's immediate successors may have to factor out some knowledge.
Some VCs seem to them rather than admitting he preferred to work with an excessively large share of a heuristic for detecting whether you realize it yet or not, and so thought disproportionately about such customs. Google paid 1. But having more of the previous two years, but different cultures react differently when things go well. They influence one another both directly and indirectly.
So it may be the last batch before a dream. This argument seems to have to tell them startups are now the first phase. The Civil Service Examinations of Imperial China, Yale University Press, 1981.
Cost, again. Which feels a lot of startups have some kind of work into a few stellar exceptions the textbooks are bad news; it has to grind. Fifty years ago it would not be true that the angels are no misunderstandings.
I wouldn't want the valuation of hard work is a negotiation.
They're still deciding, which is the number of startups as they turn from their screen to answer the question of whether public company CEOs were J. But you can, Jeff Byun mentions one reason not to have balked at this, on the ability of big companies weren't plagued by internal inefficiencies, they'd be called unfair.
A great programmer will invent things worth 100x or even why haven't you already built this? Donald Hall said young would-be startup founders tend to be a lot of the reign Thomas Lord Roos was an assiduous courtier of the things we focus on growth instead of admitting frankly that it's bad.
I know when this happened because it looks great when a forward dribbles past multiple defenders, a torture device so called because it might be a hot startup. Fortunately policies are software; Apple can change them instantly if they used FreeBSD and stored their data in files. This is the kind of intensity and dedication from programmers that they probably don't notice even when I switch in mid-game.
He, like storytellers, must have seemed a bad imitation of a great deal of competition for the founders chose? There are two very different types of studies, studies of returns from startup investing, which has been happening for a couple days, then work on what interests you most. I have a moral obligation to respond promptly.
I count you in?
Thanks to Sarah Harlin, Josh Kopelman, Jessica Livingston, and Ken Anderson for their feedback on these thoughts.

Classic Drive: 1968 Subaru 360
CHERRY HILL, New Jersey —  The task in question is a relatively simple one, mastered by millions the world over: Press lightly on the accelerator, ease off the clutch pedal, then feed in more throttle as the clutch bites. Left foot up, right foot down, away you go. It takes some practice to master, but in the grand scheme of things, driving a stick shift is easy.
Except nothing is easy in a 1968 Subaru 360.
We’ve come to the hamlet of Cherry Hill, near the site of Subaru’s soon-to-be-former U.S. headquarters, to drive the car that 50 years ago launched Subaru’s history in America. To wrap our heads around how the manufacturer went from the 360—the very first vehicle Subaru imported to the States and a car too anemic to be called feeble—to world-class performance cars like the limited-run WRX STI Type RA.
The 360’s cabin is what marketers might call “intimate.” It’s hard to believe an exhaust pipe so tiny can produce such copious amounts of oil smoke.
The last time I piloted a Type RA was on a charity road rally called Drive Toward a Cure, where I kept reasonable pace with a racing-trained driver in a Porsche 911 GT3. In the 360, you’d be lucky to keep pace with a fully loaded cement truck. This is no exaggeration; with the 360 cranked as fast as it seemed capable of going, not one but two cement trucks blew right past it.
Driving the 360, you find it extraordinarily difficult to believe Subaru lasted 50 minutes in this country, let alone 50 years. The 360 is impossibly tinny and impossibly tiny. It stands chest-high to people of even slightly below average height. Compared to a Smart Fortwo, the 360 measures just short of a foot longer, is more than a foot narrower, and at 960 pounds is less than half the weight. The unassisted steering is one-finger-light, even when the car stands still. Opening the rear-hinged suicide doors reveals nothing but the thin sheetmetal of the floor and roof. As far as crash protection goes, you might be safer driving a car made of bubble wrap.
Power—a word used strictly as a nod to convention because it really doesn’t apply to the 360—comes from a rear-mounted 359cc (22-cubic-inch) two-cylinder engine. This three-quarter-pint pollution pump idles with the tattered buzz of a poorly tuned chainsaw and farts out an impossibly large blue haze through an exhaust pipe the diameter of a penny. Output is a paltry 25 horsepower and 25 lb-ft of torque, not even enough to drive the supercharger on a Dodge Challenger Hellcat. A four-speed manual sends power to the rear wheels, though it seems impossible to begin to fathom the circumstances under which a 360 might obtain a speed high enough to use fourth gear—perhaps if it was dropped out of a plane.
You’d expect a car with such a meager engine to be slow. The 360 redefines the word. An old Fiat 500 with 2 less horsepower than the Subaru feels like a Corvette Z06 in comparison. The reason: The 360’s microscopic engine is a two-stroke, which means it has no low-end torque whatsoever. To get moving you have to rev the engine like you hate it and slip the clutch without smoking the clutch. Get it right, and the car leaps ahead to what feels like light speed, though it’s actually an indicated 10 mph. Get it wrong, and the engine bogs down, picking up speed so languidly that elderly folks with walkers shake their fists and tell you to get the hell out of their way.
Once underway, your solitary goal is to avoid the same fate in second gear. The Fiat 500 (and the 360’s eventual successor, the Subaru FF-1) had marks on the speedometer indicating maximum in-gear speeds, but the 360 offers its hapless driver no such assistance. Try holding first to 15 mph before shifting to second, and you find yourself trapped well under the torque curve and getting short-shift-shamed by the little Subaru. Next, try holding first to 20 mph. This requires winding the engine up to what sounds like about 47,000 rpm, but it yields much better results; the car was almost able to keep up with the transit bus in the next lane. Logic would dictate second gear is good for at least 40 mph, but I wanted no part of pushing this delicate car that hard.
These two Subarus couldn’t be more different. The STI is handsome, roomy, and safe; the 360 is ugly, cramped, dangerous, and ridiculously slow.
Originally introduced in 1958, the 360 was the first mass-produced keijidosha, or kei car, a class of Japanese vehicles that qualified for cheaper taxes and insurance provided they met certain size and displacement limits. In Japan, where the speed limit was 25 mph in town and 37 mph on back roads, a 360cc engine was just about adequate. But for suburban New Jersey in 1968—or in this case, 2018—not so much.
Mindful of the car’s fragility, I shifted into third at 35 mph, 15 short of the posted limit. The 360 made it clear this was as fast as it intended to go. I figured I’d found a nice if slightly terrifying middle ground between not killing the car and not killing myself. That was when the cement trucks went flying past.
Aside from the sluglike acceleration, driving the 360 turned out to be less dreadful than I was led to expect. The ride is soft and surprisingly comfortable, not unlike the Detroit land yachts of the era. Its light steering is reasonably direct, which is helpful as you must swerve a constant slalom around potholes. Even the smallest of them pose a credible threat to the 360’s dinner-plate-sized wheels and tires. Aside from cramped footwells, an insane amount of engine noise, and the constant threat of death from other traffic, the micro Subaru is not entirely unpleasant. Petrifying, but not entirely unpleasant.
Whether Malcolm Bricklin, who imported the first Subarus, considered this a viable car or was just trying to make a buck and get out is a matter for automotive historians. (Consider as evidence his next import, the Yugo, and leave it at that.) Frankly, it’s amazing that anyone who test-drove a 360 actually bought one. My jaunt was frightening enough; it’s impossible to imagine the sheer terror of wheeling this thing among the inadequately braked behemoths that roamed our roads in the late 1960s.
Had the 360 been the company’s only import, we’re pretty sure Subaru wouldn’t be here today. While Consumer Reports was busy trashing the 360, calling it “unacceptably hazardous,” Bricklin’s partner, Harvey Lamm, eyeballed Subaru’s new front-wheel-drive FF-1 as a good choice for Americans living in the Rust Belt. When that bet paid off, he imported the four-wheel-drive Leone wagon, known here as the DL and GL. Subaru’s legend was born. The DL/GL begat the Legacy, which begat the Outback, which begat the Forester, which in turn positioned Subaru to take advantage of the nation’s present crossover craze. And when Subaru started competing in the FIA World Rally Championship, the company realized all-wheel drive could do more than get you out of snow. The WRX came to this country in 2002, and Subaru hasn’t been the same in America since.
Put another way: Jeff Walters, Subaru of America’s vice president of sales and owner of the 360 in our photos, found this particular car languishing in the corner of a Chicago dealership with 19,000 original miles on the clock. When I first saw it, I marveled that a car so old could have so few miles. After driving it, I’m amazed it has so many.
