Mini-review:

Look, I'm not gonna say this was good, but it kept me engaged throughout. And it's all thanks to the two leads. They basically save the whole thing with their chemistry and their comedic chops. I was particularly impressed by Lomon, who went out of his comfort zone for this role and delivered in every single scene. The show worked better as comedy than anything else, since it was pretty funny at times. But yeah, whenever it tried to highlight serious issues, it ended up falling into the same old stereotypes. And some of the final twists made little to no sense. I don't regret watching Branding in Seongsu, though, cause the episodes were short and it never had time to get boring. But I do wish the writing and directing were as good as the acting, or less messy at the very least.

here is the LIST of modeling contracts. make sure to read this post for more information about modeling in general.

contracts highlighted in light purple means that renewal is possible. renewals become impossible if writing requirements haven’t been met and when this happens, they are placed in the “past” column, which is highlighted in grey. the other reason for this is if the muse has completed a around a year with the brand, since it allows the muse to have a free modeling contract slot and take on different modeling gigs, if possible. if the contract is highlighted in either yellow or blue, there’s no action for you to take (example; Ivy Club contracts).

you are required to submit to the lgcmanager account the following form to renew a contract. if we don’t hear from you before APRIL 27, 2024 at 11:59PM EDT, we’ll assume that contracts pending renewal are canceled.

Why was Moonjo so triggered when Jongwoo hung out with Seokyoon versus letting Jieun live and not being completely bananas about Jongwoo hanging out with her? Thoughts?

Well... In a word, because Seokyoon lived at Eden and was a good friend, while Jieun didn’t live at Eden, and wasn’t a good girlfriend.

Let me see if I can explain.

Eden was Moonjo’s main zone of influence, right? Jongwoo carried his influence whenever he left, and Moonjo followed him to other areas as well, but Eden was where it was concentrated, where it was stronger. Moonjo could mold that place however he saw fit. If he wanted it to appear to you as a nightmare, you wouldn’t be able to distinguish when you’re awake. If he wanted you believing you live inside an arena where your only options are kill or be killed, you'd start sleeping with a weapon under your pillow. His influence was at its most powerful at Eden.

Seokyoon, by initiating a friendship/alliance with Jongwoo, became a threat to that influence. His presence helped Jongwoo get a grip, be a little more anchored to reality than when he only had himself to worry about. They were on the same team and could depend on each other.

Seokyoon was someone Jongwoo could talk to, that would offer suggestions and support. As long as he had Seokyoon, Jongwoo didn’t need Moonjo. He had someone else to complain to. Someone to listen to him and for him to listen to. Someone who didn’t answer directly to Moonjo, who thought for himself. Someone who was, to Jongwoo, a reminder of the rules of the real world, a world that still existed outside of Moonjo’s territory (despite it being so hard to remember while living inside of it). Seokyoon had stolen Moonjo’s spot by Jongwoo's side, and was monopolizing his time when they were at Eden, making it considerably harder for Moonjo to get him alone. Seokyoon was, quite literally, on the way.

Jieun, on the other hand, was a distant figure, often absent, and didn’t offer any threat to Moonjo’s schemes. Of course, she was Jongwoo’s girlfriend, and Moonjo wasn’t happy to share Jongwoo’s attention, or about the influence she had over his thoughts/feelings. But it didn't take long for him to notice that their relationship was debilitated, and that Jieun only pushed Jongwoo closer to where Moonjo wanted him.

She was not a problem, the way Seokyoon was. She was an advantage on Moonjo’s side. He recognized he could make use of her, and it outweighed his desire to see her gone. That could wait! The priority was Jongwoo’s becoming.

As for why he let her live¹, I believe it was for the same reason he also let Jeonghwa and Mr. Ahn: Jongwoo would be in need of witnesses to testify on his behalf after Eden. The more of them, the better.

But, wait! Why wasn't Seokyoon one of the survivors, then, since he had witnessed firsthand what the residents did to Jongwoo? Well, he could have been, if he wasn't so nosy! His incapacity to just let things be and mind his own business was a risk to Moonjo's plans. He was investigating them, just like Jeonghwa, who Moonjo also wished to kill on early episodes for the same reason, but couldn't get rid of without immediately bringing attention to him/the residence. He couldn't do her harm without potentially compromising his project, but Seokyoon was a different case entirely, because no one but Jongwoo would be missing him if he suddenly disappeared.

¹If you’d like to go down a less practical, more sentimental road for Jieun's case: Moonjo could have let her live for Jongwoo’s sake.

If Jongwoo felt guilty for her death, it'd be harder to let her (memory) go later, than it must have been when she eventually rejected him after what happened at Eden.

It's hard to believe Moonjo would have done that out of the goodness of his heart, though, so you can interpret it with the intention of consequently making Moonjo's company look more appealing, since he, in contrast, wouldn't abandon Jongwoo for who he is.

HOLIDAY BREAK

hello everyone! we just wanted to write a quick note this week in regards to the upcoming holiday season! we know that the end of trimester is especially busy for everyone trying to finish their requirements, and it’s also busy for us admins planning new schedules and events. as such, we know that bringing the holidays into the mix might be stressful for a lot of people (including us). we think a small break would be nice for everyone!

we have decided that the new trimester will start on SUNDAY, JANUARY 15 ! this year, we have pre-emptively taken this break into account, so the original deadlines should still be valid and give us ample time to make the trimester change as smooth as possible. in addition, just like the previous trimesters, the events will be split into two weekends with the first one being on JANUARY 15 and the second on JANUARY 22.

Do que gosta: História em quadrinhos, morangos, arte em geral e chá gelado.

Primeira palavra: "Mamãe” - que resultou em uma Jieun chorando igual criança, porque ela nunca achou que ia ser tão lindo escutar.

Com qual dos pais se parece mais: Copia do Dakho, que faz que a Ji fique de bico porque queria que ele tivesse algum traço dela.

Quem ele gosta mais entre eles: Da mãe-tia da Jieun, vive colado nela já que ela ajudou a cuidar dele.

Quem ele gosta mais entre eles: Do irmão mais velho, mas desde pequeno é o grude da mãe a ponto de seguir ela pela casa. 

HC com a criança: A volta ao trabalho da Jieun, após a licença maternidade da emissora. Dakho tentou de tudo pro filho não chorar, a ponto de ficar com ele em todos os cantos da casa, menos os que a esposa estava. Mas foi em vão quando a Jieun tava saindo e o Changmin viu pela janela, começou a chorar e chamar por ela, Dak vou obrigado a levar o Chang na emissora durante o intervalo da Ji para que ele parasse de chorar.

Mini-review:

I'm gonna be very honest: I hate football/soccer and, initially, I only wanted to watch this because I adore IU. So, color me surprised, cause I enjoyed it a lot. I should have seen it coming tbh, cause I've always liked this type of inspirational-underdog storylines. Anyway, the characters were engaging, the script was really funny and witty, and the whole cast was great. IU does steal the show, proving that she has a natural knack for fast-paced comedy and one-liners (I swear I'm not being biased here). But all the other actors do an amazing job too! My only real complain is that the movie felt a tad too long, and the final act dragged a bit. But, besides that, I had a lot of fun watching it and I would definitely recommend it!

after almost 2 years, legacy is returning to the variety scene with new seasons of two shows, and producing two brand new onesn! to be able to participate in this opporunity, here are the general eligibility rules:

TRAINEES: trainees who have completed the VARIETY SHOW SPECIAL and have a minimum of 50 POINTS TOTAL in HOSTING and VARIETY as of tonight's ac ( BAE NATHAN, BAEK BYEONGKWAN, CARTER JAEJIN, HAN NOEUL, KANG YOOJOON, KURAMOTO MISAKI, KWON HYUNTAE, PARK CHAEKYUNG, PARK JAEKYUNG, PARK TAEHA, SUNG HANEUL, XU LILI, XUE YICHEN )

¿Quiénes eran antes de ser vampiros y qué mantienen de su antigua vida? — 

Sergei Belyakov fue creado por y para la guerra. 

Sus padres, demasiado pobres para seguir existiendo bajo las condiciones de su propio país, emigraron a terrenos del Imperio Ruso con el prospecto de una mejor vida. Un matrimonio reciente, una hija. Podían conseguir aquello que no veían en Corea, en otro lugar. Y así fue. Cuando llegó la oportunidad de volverse el equivalente a un campesino ruso, con tierras propias para trabajar y sus mismos derechos, los Yun aceptaron. Ahora eran rusos, y sus hijos también lo serían. 

Un par de años más tarde, Sergei viviría su primer nacimiento: Yun Ik Hyeon, lo llamaron para honrar sus raíces, pero toda su vida fue Sergei. Un niño destinado a trabajar la tierra y servir a esa parte del mundo, con sus raíces alejadas de la cultura que tanto le inculcaban sus padres, como todo el resto de los hombres y mujeres coreanos que le rodeaban. 

Esas raíces fueron el alimento para lo que vendría en su adultez. La guerra Ruso-Japonesa de principios de los 1900 fue tan solo el inicio, con la pérdida de ambos padres en el enfrentamiento entre los imperios. 

Los japoneses mataron a sus padres, y los rusos se rebelaron contra los líderes que lo llevaron a la perdición. Todo a su alrededor arde, y Sergei Yun se entrega a todo el odio, decepción y rabia que es capaz de unir a un pueblo en revolución. 

En los años siguientes, Sergei se puede llamar a sí mismo un activista político y un revolucionario, abogando en favor de Corea desde la lejanía, codeado de sus iguales. Son los mismos que siguen la inspiración de Alexandra Kim, la primera coreana comunista, en la revolución Bolchevique, apostando por Rusia ahora para ver en el futuro una Corea libre en la que su gente, los trabajadores forzados a emigrar, pueda prosperar.

Pero estos no son más que hechos que llevaron a Sergei a su segundo nacimiento. 

La importancia de la guerra entre mortales cesó con el paso de los años que siguieron, tras su recién ganada inmortalidad. El ferviente resentimiento que le caracteriza, que le ganó un espacio en Lasombra, no fue más que redireccionado, adaptado a esta segunda no-vida, en una sed por revolución en contra males mayores diferentes. ¿Ser un coreano en Rusia durante las ocupaciones de Corea? Ahora era ser un Cainita, un inmortal atrapado dentro de una sociedad mortal. Pero la visión era esencialmente la misma. 

Sergei Yun ya no existía más, fue reemplazado en 1917 por alguien nuevo: Sergei Belyakov, cainita de El Sabbat. 

¿Qué sabe sobre quien los convirtió en vampiros? —  

Tatyana Belyakova estaba lista para convertirse en sire cuando su camino se cruzó con el de Sergei Yun, durante las revueltas de 1917 que desarmaron al Imperio Ruso. Pero a ella no le importaba el Imperio Ruso, ni lo que se pudiera ganar o perder en esas políticas mortales. 

Sergei, por su parte, con treinta años formaba parte activa de la revolución, haciendo historia junto a sus hermanos coreanos como parte de las líneas conformadas por los enemigos de los enemigos de su nación, esa misma en cuyas tierras él no nació, pero creció amando por palabra y recuerdo de sus padres. 

En retrospectiva, cualquiera entre esos mortales podría haber hecho el perfecto chiquillo. Pero Tatyana se guió por el instinto cuando notó la captura de ese humano ruidoso, acusado de ser espía japonés por los propios miembros de aquel grupo por el que él luchaba. Si había miedo en él, y a Tatyana le consta que sí, no lo dejó ver en ningún momento, escupiendo una rabia y resentimiento tan inmediatos que despertaron en la cainita una alarma. Estaba convencida: a él lo quiero. 

A eso, lo siguió el fin de su vida mortal. El Abrazo fue poco después, con la recolección de su cuerpo y esa gota de sangre que cambió el curso de su muerte. Si no funcionaba, habían otros que podían servirle tanto como él, pero pronto volvió a abrir los ojos. Quien le dio la bienvenida fue su sire. 

Habiendo pasado juntos poco más de cien años desde entonces, se puede decir que Sergei y Tatyana se conocen mejor que bien. Comparten un vínculo que desafía incluso a sus propios temperamentos, a menudo descritos como difíciles; coloquialmente como: de mierda. La mayor prueba de este vínculo se vio en la adopción voluntaria de su apellido, con el que se ha identificado durante décadas. Tatyana lo volvió quién es, y ese es Sergei Belyakov. 

¿Quién es Tatyana Belyakova? Se llama a sí misma una misionera. A donde va predica sobre el final de los días, e intenta convencer a cainitas perdidos sobre el camino correcto a “la salvación”. Si usa las palabras, la violencia, o su increíble poder mental para “convencerles,” es tema de debate. Una mujer que encuentra su propia calma espiritual en el caos, y añora el fin como quien espera alcanzar el paraíso. Una nómada, aunque rara vez sale de terrenos asiáticos. Sergei no siempre le acompaña, pero siempre saben del rastro del otro. 

Ella mintió por completo sobre cuál fue el primer día que le conoció, y Sergei no tiene idea.

Curiosidades — 

Ha vivido en distintos países: Ucrania, Uzbekistan, Turquía, Irlanda, Corea del Sur, China, y ahora Japón. 

Durante sus primeros años de la no vida, en donde Tatyana sirvió de guía para esta nueva vida de superioridad sobre los mortales, Sergei no sólo aprendió sobre los nuevos elementos de su existencia, pero aprovechó para terminar aquellos estudios que nunca finalizó en vida. 

La última vez que tuvo contacto con su hermana mayor fue en vida. Aunque él la volvió a ver una o dos veces después, para ella, su esposo y sus hijos, Sergei dejó de existir en 1917. Es a la única persona de su vida como humano a la que ha visitado post-Abrazo.
