the subtle emotional disconnect that birdie has with fearne is so nuanced and so delicious; in my mind, fearne is her child, this is her girl, birdie says “I’ll blow up both moons for her” so fervently and yet! there is a very nonchalant slippery way she actually regards fearne as she’s standing there, looking at her, mentioning choices birdie made that were shortcomings, and birdie almost lightly lightly shrugs it away and reasserts her mission, apologizes, lightly, but again.. her mind is on her mission.

and there’s so much finesse in depicting the mentality behind an absentee loved one; I love you, I love you, I have to do this, (and loving you isn’t going to make me stop); the level of goodhearted denial is incredible that birdie is too far gone in it that she can’t even see the impact of her choices, she can’t see how much it’s changed fearne, she can’t see how much it’s changed herself. she started with love and where has it made her go, but no no that’s too ... unnecessary! it’s all right! i’m doing this for you!

can we all agree this lost is a coaching issue instead of goalie.... you play a man for 11 straight games without a rest. you increase his fatigue and injury risk as well as destroy the confidence of your other goalie and making him rusty. you put him in a very important game when he hasnt been able to warm up just to be a scapegoat after also destroying the confidence of the other goalie you just burnt out

Ooooo civilian!Bruce got me thinking about Jason,,, like how does his death go down here? so i already answered the first part of this ask earlier and @fanaticalthings made the most AMAZING addition that answers the second part <3 like literally took the ideas in my brain and wrote it out word for word for me thank YOU

jasons motivations are very different since he doesn't have a reason to blame bruce/batman for not avenging him, and instead during argument he has with bruce before he runs to ethiopia, jason says a lot of things he doesn't mean in the heat of the moment. he tells bruce he doesn't want him to be his dad, and that bruce didn't actually want him anyway. this is all wrong of course, but freshly resurrected and traumatized jason can't get over the fact that he yelled all those things at the man who did so much for him. had told his older brother he didn't want him either.

jaosn is so ashamed, so he stays away. he makes his debut as red hood in the narrows, and he almost breaks down when he sees nightwing again, but he goes on. he finds a crappy little apartment, does his dues, and watches over the waynes from afar.

but it's inevitable that dick and the tiny sherlock holmes replica tim drake find out who he is. and dick cries. a lot.

"baby brother, i'm so sorry. i'm sorry i wasn't there, i'm sorry, im sorry."

jason is a bit scornful towards tim at first, with the whole poster rich child replacement, but he warms up to him because tim is a good kid. hes curious and quiet but sharp and not afraid at all to sass jason as much as he respects him. they both try to drag jason right back to the manor because having their brother think he wasn't wanted, had been replaced, had been forgotten- that wasn't just untrue, it was fucking stupid.

but jason just isn't ready. he doesn't feel like he deserves to face alfred again, to face bruce again.

"please, just give me some more time. i need more time before- before."

and when could dick deny his little brother anything? so he stops being so adamant, but he sets a hard limit of two months, because

"bruce deserves to know, jay. he missed you so much, he misses you so much. there wasn't a day dad didn't think of you and wish you were here with us. come home soon, jay. please."

it is wild to sit back and think...adrien's mental abuse has made him a people pleaser, someone who puts others' needs before his own, someone whose entire worth is wrapped up in his ability to mold his existence into whatever will make the people around him happy, even at the expense of his own happiness and wellbeing.

and marinette actively benefits from that behavior by having a partner she can push around and a love interest she can stalk without fear of retaliation. a dynamic that the writing should scrutinize, but instead chooses to justify through retconned trauma and making chat noir all but useless in battle.

im usually a realist on here, and obviously a so loss to end the road trip isn't the way we wanted to go out, but let's consider the circumstances

first of all

the travel schedule was crazy, getting to columbus the night before for an already insanely early 1pm local time start after the full day of back and forth travel they needed to endure is crazy. we fought hard in that game, especially our goaltender who made an impressive 41 saves and was exceptional between the pipes

though we didn't win, we finished 5-1-1 on the road trip, and we are still 1st in the league (3rd by p% if you're a stats nerd like me) and easily 1st in the division with our 8 point gap on VGK and our impressive 13 point gap on LAK.

and, to put it in perspective, here's where we were last year (left) according to moneypuck vs this year (right) at the same time.

going from just a 0.6% chance to make the playoffs at all to a 99.91% chance to make the playoffs and a 18.3% chance to win the cup in just one year is absolutely wild, and im so proud of our team and all we have accomplished.

so yes, we did lose today. but overall, i think we are the biggest winners in the league.

ive been saying it since i was 3, and ill say it again now. go canucks go, we are going to kill it when we get back home
