The 43rd project from LEGO Ideas is now here, the motorized lighthouse. 

The lighthouse has a motor, two lamps and a lens with which the rotating light and a small fireplace in the cottage are realized. 

The set will be released on 1st of September at a price of 299,99€.

First of all, maybe i should confess that i am a bit biased, i love lighthouses! 

This LEGO Ideas Lighthouse is build from 2065 pieces and it looks great. 

Unlike the original design, the tower is built in minifigure scale, which in my eyes is not a disadvantage, but rather a plus point.

The little house looks very cozy and convinces with a beautiful print above the door. Inside is a small lighted stove, a bed and a few small but nice details. 

Above the bed hangs a family photo, which is based on a photo of the fan designer. 

There is also a beautifully drawn map. 

Unfortunately, the photo and the card are not prints, but only stickers. 

The tower itself consists of a basic structure, with a ladder inside, which is covered with individual elements from the outside. 

On the back, the individual elements can be removed and thus allow a view into the interior of the tower. 

In the middle floor is a portrait of a lighthouse keeper on the wall. 

At the top of the tower is the light unit. 

This is driven by a shaft from the motor at the bottom of the base and rotates continuously. 

The light shines from below via a mirror (sticker) into a specially made Fresnel lens. 

This bundles the light and makes it look like a real lighthouse.

Overall, I like the lighthouse very much! 

However, given the very high price, I am very disappointed with the stickers. 

It is almost exclusively simple tiles, which could also be printed without much effort. 

I had a lot of fun taking the photos and look forward to many more. 

The tower is very photogenic and will also look great on the shelf. 

All in one i rate this Motorised Lighthouse with 9/10, as I deduct one point due to the high price.

New zane concept. Since his emotions can be tampered with and changed, there is the possibility of him glitching or getting hacked and being super emotional. Like he’s actually just crying at everything, or being suddenly very grumpy and irritable, or overwhelmingly joyful.

What if also factors like food or sleep contribute to how glitchy he can be (mirroring humans), meaning a no sleep zane will be unusually grumpy.

Idk I really like the idea of zane getting an update that glitched his system and being unhinged until it’s fixed

So i don't know how long ago this was but i thought up some lore with my friend about IP!Zanes markings. If you've been keeping up with my AU you'll know that IP!Zane was made by Dr.Julien who is an Oni here.

I hc(or maybe it's canon? Idk) that all Oni are born with their own unique markings that make them more recognisable from one another. I believe that Dr.Julien or Oni Julien would apply this logic when building his son, hence IPZ's face(and body markings)

Heres a drawing i did of them around the time i thought of the lore!

Anyway, back to my previous point- what would this change entail for Echo Zane?

Would Oni Julien, in his desperate attempt to escape from his returning loneliness rebuild Echo and give him the same markings IPZ has? Would he be unable to build up that courage? Or maybe, he makes Echo and initially does give him the same markings, but can't follow through and removes them before he activates him? (Or less likely, he just doesn't have the materials, lol)

Whatever the case, i feel like after Julien introduces him to Zane in s2(ik thats not canon, but thats why this is an au! So we can pretend Julien didn't abandon his son in favour of the other one :] <-100% still salty ) and they get back to Ninjago, Echo finally starts to learn more about who he is. Along the way, he decides he wants to choose markings for himself, but realises he wouldnt like anything permanent just yet.

So what does Echo do? He gives himself temporary ones he can change at any time until he does or doesn't decide on a pattern!

I feel like Dr. Julien saying “I never programmed that into you” when he was talking to Zane about his cooking made Zane uncomfortable. His biggest fear is losing his humanity; being reminded he can be kidnapped and reprogrammed (which I’m honestly surprised hasn’t happened yet. Vex doesn’t count, he never reprogrammed Zane, just manipulated him after making him lose his memories. If he’d programmed him, Zane wouldn’t have snapped out of being the Ice Emperor upon hearing the word “protect”) would probably make him hella uncomfortable

He’s embraced the fact that he’s a robot now (and I think he really embraced it in season 4 when he rebuilt himself) and was doing it in seasons 1-3, but I don’t think he was very comfortable knowing he could be reprogrammed at any given moment to turn on his friends.

Also Ray and Maya are better parents than Julien was, fight me

entertaining summary of my grandpa’s reactions to my silly little hobbies:

On Pathologic 2: I was apparently so enamoured with Patho that he asked to write down the name of the game so he could look into it. This man has never played a Viddy Game seriously, and I had to immediately walk that back and say This Game is Not for You. I did, however, tell him I’d ask around for a Reading Game he might like and see about finding him a playthrough

He also did the classic ARE U ADDICTED TO VIDEO GAMES fear.jpg which is always very funny to me because like. Being “addicted” to Pathologic 2 feels like being addicted to like, reading War and Peace or some shit. grandpa love you, not all games are World of Warcraft.

On AEW: I somehow tumbled ass backwards into having to explain Brawl Out to him (I was talking about how I hope Kenny is at the next AEW Canada show). This led to me explaining “worked shoot” and then “work” and “shoot”, in that order. I am very smart sometimes (sarcasm).

On MaruKEN: I excitedly talked about wrestling’s archival lacking and about a whole host of things MaruKen. He was impressed on the length of KENTA’s career, and wrestling generally. I described briefly that guy Kenta Kobayashi was married with children in real life, but that his wrestling character was “a little weirdo” to which he said “oh I can see why you like him then” and I said “yes :D” he knows me so well...

On Wrestling generally: “you sure spend a lot of time on this huh?” “yes”

I just got myself an early christmas present in the form of The Great Wave Lego wall art piece and I built it and it's amazing and beautiful and perfect and I love it so much

#noopa rambles #I put it on top of my bookshelf #and moved my whale art print on the wall next to it #said print used to be on the spot where the lego piece went so it had to be moved #I wish the print was a tiny bit closer to the wave but sadly there's a pre-existing hook on my wall #so I can't exactly put the print there in any other position bc the hook would be in the way #then I was like 'lemme put all my nautical decorations around it to fill a few empty spaces at the edges' #and ngl I ended up cackling bc I didn't even put a single compass there before it was full #I have so much nautical shit and I'm Living for it #I put my little spyglass there and I put my little lighthouse lanter in there #I already had my japanese diplomatical ship wooden 3D-puzzle up there #and let me tell you. the ship fits the vibes of the painting perrrrfectly #and then I put a littel book my mom made me that has a plants-meets-nautical theme #despite all these things I still somehow have three compasses and some other nicknacks around #I simply do not want to overcrowd the shelf #so the compasses can just keep living on my lotr shelf bc they designated Adventure #and one of them has not all those who wander are lost engraved on the lid so jfdjfd #it clearly belongs there and this way all three can hang out #the only thing I really need now is a globe #the lego set was so frigging expensive but it was on sale at my local toy store so I went yolo

Hello Community

Halloween is now over, so it's time to move on to November while enjoying our fruitful candy hunts. And who says new month, says new theme.

This month will be "workplace" month. Show me some brick buildings of places where we usually work or see someone working.

This could represent a stand at a market, a workshop, a fire station for example. I will judge the location and composition.

In my first example I chose to depict a lighthouse keeper working on maintaining the lens. I could have photographed just the lens in action but I wanted to add the keeper to the scene so that the scene would be more relevant to the fact that I am looking for a place where people work.
