DMTNT: "You have a........ghost??...friend?? In me???- Ending
Tumblr media
@acidyellowlava Sometimes, rambling became true
Here's my hot take on Pirates of the Caribbean DMTNT movie: It was all a bad nightmare caused by too many amounts of nutmeg added in the soup. A collective error. Sometimes happens.
The real ending was that no OP artifact got found, and the Cursed had to cope with their eternal state of undead(ess). After a while everyone came to terms with their personal situation. Someone proposed therapy group sessions and somehow- cursed and the living rejoiced toghether…! Waoh unbelivable...! Also Carina after her first denying reaction about ghosts, she quickly became so enthralled by them, to later becoming a full time paranormal researcher! Yes she's always invited on the Silent Mary to tango and salsa's nights.
Of curse course the undead would dance Henry Belafonte's hits song Of course Lieutenant and Captain are enjoying some ghostly drinks made of ghostly fruits' juice. They got a tiny orchard on the ship now. Also, you know? They even brew beer in there. They're retired now, it's matter of time before they'll start behaving like some old gramps.

Campeón sin Corona Summary: After strong winds take some of the crew off course during what was supposed to be a simple excursion, they will need to work together if they want to return to their beloved La María Silenciosa. But Lesaro and Cortez have some unfinished business.
HERE.
Cleaned off another fic and posted to the Seasons Skirmish 2024 writing challenge.
I felt a sweep of nostalgia writing this. The good and refreshing kind. Open ended. I might add another chapter on how they return to ship.

Capitán Armando Salazar's Spain:
Tumblr media
(circa War of Spanish Succession)
One of the things I didn't know when I first started writing fanfic for Capitán Salazar was that technically, Spain wasn't really a single unified country in his lifetime.
If you had asked them where they were from, the men of La María Silenciosa would have been more likely to tell you they were 'Castilian', or 'Aragonese', or any number of the smaller regions across the country.
To give a brief history, from the 700s-1500s AD, Spain was called Al-Andalus, and was under the control of Muslim states. You can still see a great deal of architecture from this time period especially in the South of Spain, the most famous being Alhambra palace (Granada):
Tumblr media
But Christianity started to spread rapidly from the 1400s onwards, and by 1502 all Muslims were ordered to either convert or leave (this royal edict is still criticised today, with many debating if the edict was largely responsible for the eventual decline of Spain's economy and population).
Over the centuries, the cultures of each Spanish region became so significantly different from one another that it is not unlikely to have caused tension aboard Salazar's ship.
Southern regions retained strong Moorish influences due to their geographical proximity to Morocco, but this kept them divided culturally and politically from their Northern neighbours.
Catalonia and Aragon (North East) hated the taxes they'd been forced to pay to the new king Philip V in the early years of the war of Spanish Succession. They fought against their neighbours when the King attempted to send Castilian soldiers through their territory. The King punished those who rebelled by taking their homes and lands away - leaving them with nothing.
All of this would definitely have played heavily into the personal identity of each of the men aboard La María Silenciosa: not all of them would necessarily have shared the same language, manners, or way of looking at themselves and the world around them.
It's interesting to me, therefore, that the colour the men of La María Silenciosa wore was grey.
Not the yellow and red stripes of the Catalonian flag. Not the blue and gold coat of arms of King Philip V. No, the colour is deliberately neutral. As if by donning the grey, every man aboard La María Silenciosa is acknowledging that no matter their differences, under Capitán Salazar's command they are one.

I like that a lot of what we do in the shadows is just Guillermo looking at the camera like he's on the office

Hey yo if Salazar has Lesaro do stuff like hold his spyglass for him, do you think he puts his hair up in that little bun for him too? Cause that would be cute.

Nights in Cádiz - Armando Salazar x Reader (Chapter 3)
I know I should be ashamed to come back and write another chapter as if nothing happened BUT at least I'm back so yay.
The dress I picture [Y/N] wearing here is this one. Also, because it's mentioned, here's a guide on the language of fans in the 18th century.
Tumblr media
As breakfast progressed, with stolen glances and smirks from your part, Armando felt his face flush. It was highly, highly inappropriate for a lady, specially this young, this joyful, to behave like this. He was her father's friend, he left for his last trip when her mom was pregnant. [Y/N] had her whole life ahead and shouldn't be giving her attention to him.
He looked at Lesaro for help but he only shot him knowing glances back and it made him frown. No, this would not do it. He excused himself and stood up, going for a walk outside the house. Fresh air, instead of the suffocating atmosphere inside.
Lesaro found him soon after.
"¿Dónde vás?", his voice made him pause. It was too easy to forget he was a commanding officer too.
"I need fresh air, Gui."
"I can see that. You're troubled today, Armando, and your face is showing it to everyone. ¿Qué pasa?"
Armando turned around then, a loud sigh leaving him. "It's the señorita, Gui. I...Diós."
Guillermo chuckled, approaching him with slow steps. He knew his friend too well, the same good old Armando from the Academy days in front of him now.
He remembers how Armando was, how he always has been. Passionate, intense, a handsome man who always let insecurities get the best of him on these matters. When they were young sailors, it would brew down to him thinking no respectable woman should be with him because of his father's actions. Then, as they rose ranks practically together, it extended to his capabilities, to him being away for too long and not wanting to hold a woman "hostage to his work", as he said.
Armando never planned on being a captain until Guillermo himself vouched for him. He would be a good one, and time proved him right at every possible instance, but at the cost of his own captaincy offer. Guillermo was a man of the crew, Armando was a man of command and it was the way it was supposed to be.
Being on so many different ships together, the deaths, La Maria and the curse, had brought them impossibly close together. They confided everything to each other. The young Armando who relucted in seeking comfort with brothel women in their stops was in front of him again, insecurity and fear shining in his deep eyes and Guillermo almost laughed at how unfitting it seemed to see this man, strong and stubborn, like this.
"What about her, amigo? You seem to be enjoying each other's company enough."
Armando blushed and Lesaro's eyebrows shot up as he said, "She showed up in my dream last night. We talked, Gui. She held my hand, not even flinching at my cursed face."
"Impossible. She never saw us cursed, never even been on La Maria. Armando, are you sure you simply didn't dream her being there?"
He shook his head, "No, ella estaba conmigo. She mentioned it today before breakfast, when I met her at the hall. No sé que hacer."
To say Lesaro was more amused than he should was an understatement, "Perhaps it is a sign, amigo."
Salazar squinted at him, "No te atrevas..."
"A sign your affections are mutual and you need to stop this nonsense and ask Hugo for her hand."
"¡Guillermo Lesaro!", Armando said, eyes going wide and face red. "¡No, absolutamente no!"
"Armando, we got another shot at life to make things right and be happy. If it lies with her, allow yourself to feel it."
"¡No, Guillermo! La señorita is young, I'm an old, seasoned sailor. It is highly inappropriate and wrong to even suggest such a thing."
"A lot of things changed in these years we have been gone, amigo."
Their conversation was cut short by the sound of someone approaching. One look at her and Armando's eyes softened immediately and she gave them a curtsy before looking up at him again. The dress, green skirt and floral overcoat, the hat on top of her head, the way she looked up with the fan in her left hand, open, the message conveyed so elegantly.
"Am I interrupting, ¿almirantes?"
"No, señorita! I was just telling Armando I have something to attend to at the Armada headquarters so if you will excuse me.", Lesaro bowed to them and walked away, a smile on his face at the playful betrayal.
Armando, on the other hand, held her right hand and planted a kiss on it in greeting. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"
"Walk with me, Armando?", she said, smiling. And Armando would not, could not refuse. He offered her his arm, smiling as she took it and they walked towards the gardens.
Spanish translations:
¿Dónde vás? = Where are you going?
¿Qué pasa? = What's going on?
Diós = God
No, ella estaba conmigo = No, she was with me
No sé que hacer = I don't know what to do
Amigo = Friend
No te atrevas... = Don't you dare...
¡No, absolutamente no! = No, absolutely not!
Almirantes = Admirals
Señorita = miss

{~} Modern AU
Salazar & Lesaro {~}
Tumblr media
Okay so in this modern AU
Salazar would be a Prosecutor. And here is why :
A Prosecutor is acting in the name of the Government. He is the person responsible for the prosecution, and so the one who sent criminal to the court. He carries out all the necessary actions to investigate and prosecute violation of criminal law. To this end, he directs the activities of officer and agents of the police
So not only he’s chasing / sending to court criminals, but also can command the police
Wich is basically what Salazar was doing by hunting pirates but well, in an older era. So this is just perfectly accurate to him ! XD
Tumblr media
As for Lesaro, we tought of him beeing a Detective :
He could have been Investigator too, so he would be under someone’s commandment, but Detective fit more to us, and Salazar could still ask him help and such.
And well, the typical Detective has a hat, and Lesaro has one, so it fit a lot ! XD
And once again, Detective interrogates people and such to find criminals / suspect
So once again, it goes back to what they were originally doing in the movies xD !
So me and my friend with who I got the idea will be working on the others characters, but this might turn into a whole police / criminal / justice / government thing cause yeah xD
It just fit the characters so well, like imagine Beckett beeing a mayor or something like that you see-
And perhaps who know.. maybe a Mafia ? Where all the pirates character could be at XD
We’ll see !
Anyways hope you like the idea xD
Have a good day / night !

Chapter 1
Tumblr media
The peaceful silence that the sea could provide was broken by the sound of Spanish accented music. The captain watched the crew in silence as he listened to the music and thought of Annie. It was impossible not to think that Annie had taken over his whole being, even what he dreamed, wanted, and wished for. "My God!" he thought.
-Captain,— Lesaro looked at his tired face, —why don't you rest, amigo?— Armando looked at him for just a few short seconds. Guillermo was a loyal man, as there were few left. He had been with him longer than anyone could imagine. In less than a year, he had risen to admiral of the navy and captained a ship that would be the envy of many officers in Spain. And sooner than he could have imagined, he had regained the position he had held when he entered the Devil's Triangle. He smiled at the thought of how much he had accomplished in such a short time. But there was only one thing missing: his little Annie Turner. —I'm going to rest,— he reported, listening to Guillermo. He needed to rest so that when he arrived at Port Royal he would be able to concentrate for the battle. —Good night, Captain,— said one of the crew. Armando replied only with a slight nod and went to his cabin as soon as he entered, took off his naval uniform, cleaned up and went to bed to sleep. He closed his eyes thoughtfully, what would he do when he saw Annie again? He couldn't help whispering her name, taking a deep breath and remembering the last time he had seen her.
~¤~ Henry had shattered Poseidon's trident and broken all the curses of the sea. He felt as if he was out of breath for a moment, and his once cracked and lifeless face slowly began to change back to what it had been; flesh and blood. Salazar smiled as he touched his face and saw that the spell that had bound him to life as a ghost was finally broken. He watched as the sea inside the tomb began to close.
—It is closing," Annie yelled, —Salazar! —Annie, forget it, come on! - Henry yelled as he began to pull her hand toward the anchor. Salazar, Lesaro, and the others started to run towards the anchor. They both managed to climb up the anchor. Armando continued to climb the anchor, determined to finish off Jack Sparrow, but just then the anchor suddenly dropped and Carina fell, but was caught by Barbossa just in time, and while holding her hand she realized that Barbossa had the tattoo of the constellations on the map. —What am I to you? Barbossa looked at her. —My treasure. Getting closer to Carina and Barbossa, Salazar continued to climb the anchor. —Barbossa,— Jack shouted. He threw the sword at him. Anne watched as Barbossa fell, plunging the sword into Salazar's back. —NO! - Anne screamed as she watched him fall into the water and seconds later, without a second's thought, she threw herself into the water. —Anne, NO! - Henry watched as his sister fell into the water and seconds later, he was unable to see anything else. ~¤~
Armando let out a deep sigh. Why did Anne jump so quickly when she saw him fall? Why did she scream, sounding so painful? He had many questions that he hoped the young Turner would answer. He fell asleep thinking about Anne and their meeting after a year without seeing each other. And like every night, the young Turner visited his dreams. Anne turned to look at his face, his eyes, his lips. The young Turner walked up to him and embraced him, laughing, and put her arms around his neck.
—Kiss me,— she demanded. —I would like to,— he answered. And taking her by the neck, he kissed her passionately. His hands went up and down her back as he slowly unbuttoned her dress. A moan came from her lips. He playfully and boldly bit her neck. —Make me yours, Armando, please,— her begging and excited voice excited Captain Salazar even more. Salazar laid her down on the bed and removed all her clothes until she was naked. Salazar opened his eyes. He heard Lesaro knocking on his cabin door. He awoke a little disoriented and terribly upset by the dream he had just had. —Captain, I just wanted to let you know that with the wind favoring us, we will reach Port Royal ahead of schedule. —I will be outside, Lesaro.
—I will be waiting for you on deck, Captain. Armando took a deep breath and fell backwards onto the bed in an attempt to calm down. After a few seconds he got up and splashed water on his face. —Calm down! -He wiped his face laughing, then put on his uniform and went out on deck, calmer. As soon as he came out, he saw the crew taking their places. —What's going on? — he asked. He turned to Lesaro, who was watching the harbor of Por Royal with his spyglass. —I don't see any pirate ship, sir, and everything looks quiet,— Lesaro observed someone signaling for disembarkation, —Sir, they're signaling that we can disembark. —You know what to do,— the captain said. He and the others boarded a small boat and made their way to the harbor. The man who had been signaling to them from the dock came up to them quickly. —Thank God you are here! - exclaimed the calmer man, —My name is Frederic, I am the governor's servant," Armando observed the place, which looked pretty bad. —Mr. Frederic, my name is Captain Armando Salazar. We are here on behalf of His Majesty the King, Fernando VII.— The captain informed him. —Of course, but please, Captain, follow me, the Governor will want to speak with you." Salazar nodded and began to follow the Governor's servant. Armando looked at some places and a little bit of the fort that Port Royal had. When they reached the governor's house, the servant immediately went to find him— Governor, sir, the Spanish Armada has arrived. —Excellent! — Good evening," he greeted them, —we have been waiting for you ever since we received the king's letter a month ago with his promise of help. —Sorry to keep you waiting,— said Armando, bowing quickly. —The governor froze for a few seconds when he heard the captain's last name. —El matador del mar,—he whispered in a terribly bad Spanish accent. Armando could not help but smile sideways. —You have nothing to fear, Governor,— he said slowly. —Indeed, many have called me that, but it is the pirates, corrupt and dishonest men, who should fear me.
—Of course. — replied the governor, trying to smile, —You must be tired, and it has been a long journey —he spoke quickly again —we are preparing one of the houses for you to stay in, but while it is being done I have been talking to the Turner family — Armando felt his heart beat faster as soon as he heard that last name— they are one of the few and respectable families we have in Port Royal. They have agreed to let him stay in their house for a few days — Armando didn't say he didn't imagine he'd be staying on Anne house— Frederic, please escort the captain to the Turner house. —Right away, sir. —Thank you, Governor— Salazar replied and began to follow the servant. They walked a short and a long way until they arrived at a beautiful white mansion with a beautiful garden. As soon as they arrived, the servant knocked on the door and seconds later, the Turner's servant opened the door. —Good evening," he greeted politely. —I'm sorry to intrude at this hour, but the captain of the Spanish army has arrived. —Of course, you may come in— The servant went at once and woke William, who quickly got dressed to receive the captain. As soon as William had him in front of him, he had a look at him for a few seconds. —I'm sorry to greet you like this." Will quickly apologized. —Don't worry Mr. Turner, I understand we arrived earlier than expected. —That is true,— William replied, unable to stop looking directly into his face, remembering what Henry had told him, but also knowing what his daughter Anne was feeling and so he held back, —You must be tired—,he looked at the servant, —please take him to the guest room. —Right away, sir. - said the servant. —Mr. Turner, I want to thank you for your kindness,— Salazar said. Will just nodded. The servant showed him to the room where he would have his bed — thank you very much. As soon as he entered the room, he took a deep breath. He could hardly believe where he was. He wasn't sleepy at all and even less when he knew that Anne was so close to him. It was finally time to meet again and the only thing he could say he was nervous about was seeing her again after a year. ¿How would she react when she saw him again?

I am sorry if my English is very poor, but I have tried to write it as well as possible.

The other night, I had a dream about Lieutenant Lesaro. I was standing on a slope. In front of me was a field of wheat, unripened and still very pale green. To my right was an old farm, the kind of farm that has been lived in since the 1700s, the cracks in the walls visibly plastered over even from a distance. Gui was standing next to me, in black jeans and a black leather jacket.
The sun was setting.
He turned towards me, his hands reached for mine and held them between his. I remember in the dream actually feeling the warmth of his hands. The sun cast his skin gold, his eyes were illuminated warm and clear, like syrup. He didn't say anything but I had the strongest sense he was telling me he would wait. For as long as it took.

Rewatching specific scenes from Dead Men Tell no Tales and I forgot just how absolutely done with Armando's temper Lesaro looks like when he says "there's no mercy" and nods towards the pirates.
As soon as he turns around and walks away, humming, Lesaro looks like an 18th century version of the exhausted Ben Affleck meme.
My headcanon is that he tried to tell Armando so many times that this endless revenge, this obsessive pursuit would be their doom and this scene happened so many times throughout the years that he can barely contain himself at times like these.
