Luffy: Hey everyone! I want you to meet my new friend. His name is Tra-guy! Say hi!
Law: Hello. I’m not his friend. We are just working together. I’m only here for a little, then I’m leaving
Sanji: Hey welcome to the crew
Law: Crew? No like I said, I will only be here for a little while. A week or two tops
Sanji: Yeah sure. Luffy liked you. So you’re a part of our crew whether you like it or not. Hell, I refused him outright like three times but he made me join
Law: He..made you? Are you like his prisoner?
Sanji: No no, we’re cool now. He just doesn’t give up until he gets you on his crew. It’s not just me too.
Law: Not just you……*looks to the rest of the Strawhats* How many of you didn’t want to join his cree at first?
Zoro, Nami, Chopper, Franky raise their hand
Nami: Really only Robin and Brooke were the ones who wanted to be here. Ussop was in the middle. Luffy said “we’re friends so get on” and he came happily but everyone else..
Law: That’s…so he built his crew by just seeing people he likes and making them part of his crew? No wonder you are all so……odd
Nami: Odd? You should feel lucky! We stopped him from inviting a guy stuck in a treasure box, A tree-Zombie and a unicorn-zombie that were drinking sake, A pair of Legs and a centaur.

Franky x Reader: Love Under the Moonlight (steamy makeout session) (part 1)
You sat on a nice secluded beach, with a lantern, a nice book and your weapon, incase something were to happen. You were not too far from the Thousand Sunny, just like a mile away. When you left, Luffy, Usopp and Chopper were playing a game of tag, while everyone else busy doing their own thing. Wanting some piece and quiet, you decided to go out on the beach to read a book you got from the previous island before coming to this island. Thankfully, it was a secluded island, no people living on it whatsoever, just a few animals that will either snuggle up to you or try to kill you. You let the funny trio know where you were going and that you weren't gonna be out too terribly late. This was right after you had dinner and the sun had already set, the sky now shrouded in a dark blue color, stars twinkling at each other, and the moon shining brightly at the sea below. Your attention was no longer on your book, but rather the scene before you. The moonlight shiny down on the sea, with a few sea birds flying around and some dolphins that are swimming around, it was a beautiful sight. You closed your eyes and listened to the sounds of the waves and dolphins clicking away at each other. It was very peaceful. Then, you heard footsteps approaching you, making you smile a bit. With your incredible sense of identifying one's footsteps, you instantly knew who it was. It was your boyfriend, the shipwright of the crew, Franky.
Franky was walking along the beach, trying to find you. He had asked Luffy, Usopp and Chopper where you went, and they told him that you were along the beach somewhere. He searched for thirty minutes, and he still couldn't find you. "Ah, where's Y/N? I hope she didn't get lost or worse" said the cyborg man, worry laced in his voice. He searched for another few minutes or so until he spotted you a few feet away from the water. He lets out a sigh of relief and he goes to approach you. As he does, however, it's as if time slowed down and he takes in your appearance. The way the moon illuminates your features, the way your H/C hair flows softly with the wind, how calm and relaxed your face is, it made you look incredibly beautiful. Franky has always wondered what he had done to deserve someone as lovely, as kind, as selfless as you.
Franky was so lost in his love sick trance, that he barely heard you say something. "Hello Franky, nice evening is it" you said to him. The cyborg shakes his head as you called out his name. "What, uh, yea, yea it is" he replied, his hand behind his head and a small blush on his face. You can't help but giggle at his reaction. "Sorry if I was intruding" he said, approaching you and sitting beside you. "No, you weren't intruding. I can hear you coming towards me" you tell him. Franky chuckles and said "you and your SUPER sense of hearing. You know that's gonna get you into trouble" "I only identify footsteps, I don't have supersonic hearing" you said with a giggle, making Franky laugh as well. When their laughing died down, you looked up and asked "but really, what are you really doing out here?" "It was getting late, and when you didn't come back, I started to worry" he replied to you, wrapping his arm around you. You returned your attention back to the sea before you, leaning against the cyborg as you did so. "I'm sorry for making you worry, Franky. I guess I kinda got distracted by the scenery before me. It's so calm and peaceful, I wanted to bask in it a little bit longer" you said, a calm smile on your face.
Franky looks in the direction you're looking, and you're right, it is calm and peaceful. Not to mention that it is also beautiful. He looks back at you, smiling lovingly, and said "yea, I'll admit, this is a wonderful sight. Some might even say that it's pretty romantic". You look up at him, feeling your face burn a little from a tiny blush, but you still manage to return the loving smile. "Yes, I'll say it is" you whispered, loud enough for Franky to hear. Then, the cyborg lifts his other hand, brushing your h/c locks away from your face, cupping your cheek as he did so. You two looked into each other's eyes, time seemingly slowing down for the both of you. "You're so beautiful, y/n" Franky said, grazing his thumb against your cheek. Your blush intensifies when he said that. Franky then starts to lean in, you doing the same. Then, in that moment, your lips touched his in a passionate and gentle kiss. Your hands move towards his neck while his moved to your waist, bringing each other closer in this embrace.
The kiss was soft, slow and steady at first, but things start to escalate when Franky brought you onto his lap, his lips never leaving yours, not even for a second. You lightly gasped at this action, not expecting it but totally not fighting it either. Franky licks your bottom lip, asking for entrance. You decided to be nice and let him. He explores your wet cavern, every part of it, while you do the same, causing the both of you to moan in each other's mouths. He then moves one of his hands to your scalp, massaging your head while also deepening the kiss, and the other moves to your rear, gently squeezing it. This causes you to moan again. With such reluctance, you break away from the kiss for the damn thing called air. But that didn't stop Franky, not by a millisecond. He starts placing kisses along your neck and shoulder, searching for your sweet spot. The moment his lips landed on the junction where your neck and shoulder meet, you moaned very loudly. Smirking in satisfaction, he starts abusing that spot, from kissing and licking to biting and sucking. He wanted everyone to know that you were his and his alone. You move your hands to his hair, gripping it tightly as you became a moaning mess. This made the cyborg growl and shudder in a lustful bliss, making him bite into your neck, also making you moan louder. After what seemed like an eternity, Franky removes himself from your neck, leaving behind a purplish black mark upon it.
Both you and Franky looked at each other, both panting messes after an intense makeout session. The cyborg looked at you with love, adoration, desire and lust, with you having the same look. "We should probably continue this in the bedroom" you managed to say, your breathing becoming more steady. "I agree, lets do that" he replied. Then, before you could say anything else, he picks you up bridle style, causing you too giggle and him smirking widely. He carries you back to the Thousand Sunny, where you would continue your "nightly activities".
And lets just say.....nobody got a whole lot of sleep that night.
(Well, hoped you enjoyed that. I don't make a whole lot of mature content all that often, so I'm sorry if this seems cliche or not that good, I'm doing my best. I'm most likely will do a part 2, and it will be a lemon/smut. Anywho, have a good day/night, and have a Happy Valentine's Day)

¨Agh!¨ you mumbled when you tried to lift your head from the pillow. It felt like the Thousand Sunny had run over you a thousand times.
¨Hm?¨
¨Regret ... mhbeh ... thing...¨ your mouth was so dry that talking became almost impossible.
¨What´s that?¨ Zoro asked, definitely amused by your deplorable state.
¨Hmmm... I don´t... regret... anything.¨
¨Of course you don´t. You don´t remember anything.¨ he shifted on the bed, making it look like a black hole was opening in the mattress. ¨Here, take this.¨ He handed you something.
¨I don´t need your pity... ma-marimo.¨
¨This is not pity, Y/N. This is a painkiller. Come on, you´re gonna feel better.¨
When he helped you to sit on the bed, you noticed something stuck to the window, preventing the sun from entering and blinding you. The greenette removed a few locks of hair that laid plastered across your face before helping you with the herculean task of taking the pill.
¨If the stupid cook is not dead he must have made coffee.¨ he stood up, grabbing your slippers and placing them in front of you.
In the meantime, your mind tried to gather whatever useful information you had to understand what had happened, but everything was a void blank.
¨You ok?¨ he asked, hand on the doorknob. ¨Do you want me to bring it to you?¨
¨No, it´s ok...¨ you pinched the bridge of your nose, making one last effort to remember at least a crumb of the previous hours. You were fast to give up, though. ¨What happened?¨
¨Uhhh, you got drunk and passed out.¨ he said like it was no big deal.
¨Hmm, ok...¨ you took a few seconds to digest his words ¨but when you say ´you´ you mean ´you me´ or ´you guys´?¨
A chuckle left his mouth ¨Come and you´ll see.¨
The sun shone high in the sky, forcing you to wince back into your room like the time you had your shadow stolen. You stumbled and lowered yourself to the floor, crawling away from the light.
¨You go!¨ you said dramatically, covering your eyes ¨Run away and leave me! Tell everyone... that I fought until the last moment!¨
Zoro scoffed at your poorly performed scene, walking closer to you and squatting, back turned to you. ¨Hop, soldier. We don´t leave nakamas behind, right?¨
Your cheeks reddened with his gesture, and you hid your hungover smitten smile on the crook of his neck. ¨Hold tight, Y//N.¨
Oh, I will. Ouch, my head!
As soon as you reached the main deck, your eyes widened, ignoring the bright sun, and your mouth fell in a perfect O.
¨Oh my freaking... what happened here?¨
If it weren't for the countless barrels, you would have easily thought that you had been chewed up by a sea king.
The Straw Hats were scattered across the deck, mixed with garbage, blankets, and rolls of toilet paper. Their unorthodox positions would definitely grant them a stiff neck.
Zoro carried you to the kitchen where you found Usopp and Chopper talking at the kitchen table.
¨... like I fasted in a desert for forty nights, and then I survived... a buster call. And like... all of the battleships were pointed at me. And I was catching fire before that.¨ you heard Usopp whine to the doctor, who wrapped some bandages on him.
¨Oi, who made coffee?¨ Zoro asked purposely loud.
¨SHHHH!¨ you and the sniper hissed at him.
¨Sanji did.¨ Chopper answered ¨Oh, Y/N, how are you feeling?¨
¨Like my heart is beating in my head.¨
¨At least there´s a heartbeat.¨ the swordsman replied, putting you close to a chair so you could take a seat. ¨Hm, Chopper, I saw the cook dead outside.¨
¨Yeah, he made coffee and then passed out again.¨ Chopper discreetly pointed at Usopp´s bandages.
¨He passed out and spilled hot coffee on me!¨ he roared, stopping midway to whine.
¨But you two look pretty good, though.¨ You referred to Chopper and Zoro.
Not Usopp, definitely not Usopp.
¨Night watch. I didn´t drink last night.¨ the doctor sighed, relieved.
¨And I can handle my alcohol.¨ the greenette bragged, placing a steaming cup of coffee in front of you.
¨What happened anyway?¨
¨Oh! You don´t remember too, Y/N? That millenary rum was really strong!¨ Chopper asked, fascinated by the effects of the beverage.
¨Millenary rum?¨
¨Yeah! It was a gift from an Ancient Giant Tribe!¨
¨Giant tribe?¨ you kept repeating every word he said, double-checking to see if you were not hearing things.
¨Y/N, what´s the last thing you remember?¨
¨Hmm, let me see...¨ you rested your elbows on the table, hands covering your eyes. Wow, even thinking hurts.
                                                <~>
¨I swear to God, Tony! When Luffy falls into the water, you can not jump after him!¨ you yelled, panting from climbing back to the ship and soaking wet of salty water.
He pouted and whined. You only called him ¨Tony¨ when you were upset with him.
¨So-Sorry Y/N... AaaAgh...¨ his voice trembled, and you couldn´t help but soften a little.
¨Ugh, forget it.¨ you laid down on the grass and sighed, the reindeer on your belly ¨Are you alright, Chopper?¨
¨Y-Yeah...¨
Zoro emerged a few seconds later, carrying Luffy on his shoulder.
You had engaged in a fight against some bandits who were causing trouble on an island called Gran Brabados. From what you could understand, they were descendants of the Ancient Giant Tribe who emancipated from Elbaf after years of conflict.
¨I don´t wanna be rude, but¨ Usopp spoke to one of them ¨I thought giants were warriors. Like Broggy and Dory. Those guys fought for over 100 years!¨
¨Well, most of us are, but some are not. That's why we left Elbaf.¨ the giant said ¨We're not interested in war, we're interested in rum!¨
All of you stopped for a second, wondering if you heard the same thing.
¨Eh?¨ you spoke.
¨We don´t make war! We make rum!¨ he threw his huge hands in the air, chest puffing out of pride.
¨Oi, really? Give us some!¨ Zoro immediately threw Luffy on the floor and ran towards the giant. Next thing you knew, the giant burst into laughter.
¨Gabababa!¨ he hunched as he laughed ¨Sorry, but tiny people like you can't handle it! Gababababa!¨
You were not sure what offended you the most, he calling you all, who just saved their asses, weak or having to dodge the huge drops of saliva that came out of his mouth.
After insisting a lot, he ended up giving in, presenting the straw hats with barrels and barrels of millenary rum. Yeah, millenary. Rum distilled for one thousand years, or at least that is what he said.
The celebration didn´t take long to begin. Because Luffy had decided to set sail that same day, you would all be bathed with a pleasant sunset as you partied.
¨Wow!¨ you shouted after chugging the first tankard. ¨Oooohh, this is good booze!¨ you shook your head, already feeling the kick.
¨Girl, you should go easy on this. It´s super strong.¨ Franky said, making you scoff at him, possessed by some waspish Viking demon.
¨And here I thought you were hard-boiled.¨
¨What?¨
¨O-Oi, Y/N...¨ Usopp said, worried, sipping his drink.
¨Haven´t you learned anything with Tom-san?¨ you clicked your tongue ¨Meh, I guess I´ll be the one making things with a DON around here!¨ you chugged more of the rum.
The shipwright glared at you with a red beam coming out of his left eye. You remember questioning yourself for a second. Maybe you had said too much, but it was just for a brief second before you insulted someone else.
Back at the kitchen table, flashes of the events from the last night began to pop in your mind. Guilt and embarrassment gushed over you, making you twist and cringe.
¨And then you said ¨maybe I should wear your underwear.¨ Chopper shivered as he quoted your words.
¨Nooo...¨ you cried out.
¨It gets worse, Y/N.¨
¨What?! How?!¨
¨Because after that,¨ Zoro started to speak, and you saw him struggle to stop a smile from cracking. That was not a good sign. ¨you said "your balls are so small Robin could have grabbed them with one hand!¨
The men laughed and slapped the table as you looked for a place to bury your head or a knife to stab yourself in the heart.
¨WHY DIDN´T YOU STOP ME?¨ you yelled, pulling your boyfriend by the collar and shaking him.
He placed a hand on your forehead, a silly thing he did every time you got too nervous. ¨Oi, you´re a big girl. You know what you´re doing.¨
¨Noo, obviously I don´t!¨ He smiled.
He would not be the one to tell you, but he did have to stop Franky from Radical Beam-ing the hell out of you several times. For some reason, you were very keen on insulting the cyborg's masculinity.
Another thing he wouldn´t tell you was that he didn´t touch the rum in the last night. He decided to remain sober and look after you, making sure you would not kill someone or get yourself killed.
However, despite all the trouble you gave him, he recognized your strength. Straw hat after straw hat, you managed to defeat everyone in a stupid drinking contest.
The biggest achievement was to drag Luffy into the game since he dislikes the taste of alcohol. When he denied being part of it, you teased him by saying,¨I think you are just scared, Luffy. You know what, maybe I should be the Captain of this ship! Maybe, I will be the Pirate King!¨
That was about the sixth punch Zoro took for you. Or because of you.
The darker the night fell, the wilder you all got. And then insults began to come from every direction to every direction. You were arguing, then laughing, then crying and apologizing. If it wasn´t for Zoro, Chopper would have had a heart attack.
¨Nami, you thief! Give me back my queen, or I´ll be forced to shoot a Bidori Moshi at you!¨ Usopp yelled, holding a bunch of cards in his hands.
¨Oi, Usopp! How dare you speak with a lady like that?! I´ll kick you in the face!¨
¨Bring it on, Sanji! I eat eggplants like you for breakfast every day! AND IT´S GOD USOPP FOR YOU!¨
¨Zoro...¨ Chopper cried, falling close to where the swordsman was sitting. ¨W-What are we going to do?¨
¨Uh? Ah, sit back and relax. You know these guys, they are ju-¨
¨Y/N-san, may I see your panties?¨
¨Well, too bad for you I´m not weari-¨
¨OI! Y/N!¨ Zoro dashed over, throwing you on his shoulder.
That was about the first punch Brook took for you. Or, again, because of you.
And then, as the number of biological hazards began to decline, managing the situation became easier and easier. Chopper took care of the fallen drunken, and Zoro threw blankets over them.
In the end, it was you and Luffy. You were still arguing about the things you said earlier. Both of you were exhausted but didn´t want to give in. The argument only ended when you withdrew your words, saying that he would be the one to become King of the Pirates.
Luffy fell dead asleep immediately, and Zoro took the cue to approach you. ¨Hey, Y/N. Our time, let´s go?¨
You turned to him and nodded, red cheeks and tired eyes. He had to scoop you up and carry you back to your room since your legs were not part of the equation anymore, and you would let go and fall every time he tried to carry you on his back.
¨Heeey, you´re not drunk!¨ you whined, almost falling asleep. ¨Why aren´t you drunk?¨
¨Cause you drank everything.¨
¨Noo, I can find s´more.¨ you uncovered yourself, trying to get out of bed.
¨I bet you can.¨ he said, covering you again and pulling you closer.
The warmth of his body, altogether with his hand gently rubbing your back, made your system shut down.
¨You know... I can kick your ass... in a drinking contest...¨
¨Yeah,¨ he chuckled ¨I bet you can.¨
That was definitely not true, but for you, well, for you he could pretend it was.

Straw Hats With A Shipmate Who Feels Useless
Tumblr media
A/N : this was really sweet and sad to me when I thought about it so I wanted to write it. Hopefully y’all enjoy.
Summary : The Straw Hats react to their shipmate feeling useless and a burden to the crew.
You didn't understand why you were still on the ship.
The group had just left from Water 7 with a new recruit, Franky, Robin came back, Usopp had returned to join the crew once more and you all just managed to get past the marines.
Throughout the whole time on Water 7 and Ennies Lobby, the goal of retrieving Robin back from CP-9 from Lucci and the marines, you were completely of no help at all.
Literally. You couldn’t help Nami and Sanji with their separate battles with the CP-9 members, you couldn’t aid Chopper and Franky with their battles, Zoro and Sniper King with the cuffs and two CP-9 Zoan agents, and MUCH LESS, Luffy with Lucci.
You spent the whole time just struggling to get past the chaotic mess from Franky’s family, trying to find where Robin was, and let’s not even start on trying to even find your way through the maze of the building you were in.
When you found Zoro and Sniper King, you tried to aid them by attacking the Zoan agents to the best of your ability, but it didn’t take long for them to knock you out.
Then with Sanji who was completely soaped up from Khalifah and Nami currently fighting against her, you tried to help Sanji return to normal but only ended up just freaking out and growing frustrated that you weren’t able to do anything so you left him to find the others to help.
When the crew finally made it to the top, where Robin was free and Luffy still fighting with Lucci, you constantly needed to be protected by Zoro, Robin and Franky since you weren’t aware of your surroundings.
When the whole thing was finally over, getting back to Water 7, you just kept to yourself to deal with your injuries, refusing Chopper’s help with a simple smile.
“I’m fine, Chopper. Focus on the others and yourself. You worked hard.”
And then you would avoid them throughout the several days, waiting until Luffy finally convinced Franky to join them on their newly built ship, the Thousand Sunny.
Of course by then, the others got over the whole chaotic mess and were just relaxing. But the thought and memory kept eating at you and you couldn’t relax at all.
Not wanting to bother others, you only kept quiet most of the time and would offer small smiles to them so they wouldn’t worry.
So here you were.
Chopper was in the medical bay with Robin, Nami in the kitchen with Sanji and Luffy, Franky and Usopp on the main deck together, and you were sitting, leaning against the railing, continuously thinking about the events that had occurred.
Unable to stop the deep frown that forms upon your lips, you glance down to the floor of the ship, bringing your hands to your head and knees to your chest with your elbows resting upon them.
"You can stop that now."
Hearing a sudden voice snaps you out of your thoughts and you glance beside you, seeing Zoro with his arms crossed and eyes closed.
"Oh, Zoro.. I didn’t see you there."
Zoro opens an eye and stares at you, ignoring your comment. "You’ve been quiet ever since Ennies Lobby. If it’s about what happened, who cares. Whatever’s bothering you though, we’re here to listen. So don’t keep it to yourself and just tell us."
You purse your lips and turn back to the floorboards. "There’s nothing on my mind, Zoro. Sorry if it seems that way, I’m probably just feeling tired, so I-"
Zoro only stood up and made his way over, you watching him crouch down in front of you with a rather serious expression with narrowed eyes. “What is it?”
By then, the others were all outside on the deck, staring and listening in from where they were.
No one said a word to interrupt, just listening in since they too, noticed how quiet and different you’ve been acting.
You just bit your lip before looking up at him with a smile. “I’m fine, Zoro!”
You stand up and brush off your clothes before smiling at the others who were watching. “I’m okay, I’m just feeling tired lately is all. I’ll go get some sleep.”
Luffy stares blankly at you, the others not convinced either but they didn’t say anything as they watch you begin heading to the bedroom.
When you finally close the door, you lean against it silently before biting your lip and clenching your jaw.
You were silent for a moment, thoughts running through your mind.
‘Even the others are starting to notice huh?’
Unable to hold back the tears forming in your eyes, you silently let them fall as you clenched your fists and held your head down in shame and humiliation.
‘Why did Luffy invite me onto his ship? I’m not fit for a pirate life. I much less don’t deserve to be on the ship of the future Pirate King..’
You punch the ground hard, feeling your knuckles throbbing with pain and a bit of blood forming as you continued to punch the ground in frustration.
‘Damn it, damn it, damn it! Why me?!’
You continued to sit there and cry in silence, unable to stop the flowing tears as you bask in the misery you held.
Unknown to you, the members could hear clearly of your not so silent cries and anger with punching the ship. None of them said anything.
Deciding that it was enough, you knew what you had to do tomorrow.
-
When you woke up from your bed the next day, you were dehydrated and exhausted. You ended up crying yourself to sleep after crawling into bed.
So you got up, made sure your face was washed so it wasn’t so puffy and red. After you deemed yourself decent, you headed up to the kitchen where you found the crew eating.
They all turn to you in silence, a few offering smiles to which you return with your own small one and began heading to the fridge. Sanji was washing dishes, Zoro and Franky sitting on the couch whilst the others sat at the table.
It was quiet.
You open the fridge and grab a bottle of water, opening it up and taking a sip before exhaling softly.
You grip the bottle in your hand after you closed it tightly and then spun on your heel to face the crew, giving them your best smile.
“Hey! So..”
They all look to you, listening closely to see what you had to say.
“Yeah?” Nami asks with her sweet smile, patiently waiting. “What’s up?”
You saw how kind they were towards you, making you chew on your lower lip at their kind expressions.
It made you hesitate on your next words, but you knew you had to.
“Um.. the next time we go stop at an island..” you awkwardly shift your weight to the other foot as you cleared your throat, trying to recollect your thoughts.
“Can..can I maybe stay there? I can stay at the island, or maybe find a trade ship that docks there and ask if they can stop at another island or something!”
Silence overtook the crew.
They certainly weren’t expecting you to say that. They did expect you to insist that you were okay, or maybe talk to them about what happened yesterday.
They never would’ve thought that you would suggest for yourself to leave the crew.
“..No.”
Everyone turns to the owner of the voice, to see their captain with his head lowered and his hat sitting tightly on his head.
“Luffy?” You furrow your brows at his sudden rejection to your suggestion. “Why?”
“You’re asking me why? I already said no, I refuse to let you leave!” Luffy looks up as he shouts, eyes narrowed at you. The outburst startling the crew.
“Why not? I don’t belong here! I’m not fit to be a pirate, much less this one! I don’t understand why you want me here when I’m of no use!”
After having dealt with Usopp’s argument and leave of the crew in the beginning of Water 7, the crew definitely didn’t have the heart to handle another situation like that.
“What the hell are you talking about, [Name]?! I invited you into my crew because I liked you and the crew likes you, so of course you belong here!” Luffy argues, clenching his fists. He didn’t want another repeat of Usopp’s situation either.
“[Name]-Chan, lets calm down and talk this over.” Sanji reasoned, Nami nodding her head in agreement. “[Name], it’ll be okay, lets—“
Usopp couldn’t say anything, the memory of his own event flashing in his eyes and the regret running through his mind.
Chopper was too afraid to interject, tearing up at the thought of you leaving.
Robin frowns slightly, closing her eyes and waited to see what else would happen before stepping in.
Franky was the newest recruit and didn’t think it was his place to stop anything happening yet, but if it grew further, he’d step in.
Zoro was just silent, his eyes closed, but you could see how tense he was.
“Luffy, please! I’m telling you, I’m just useless here! I have no place on this ship. I’m not a cook, a navigator, an archaeologist, a sniper, a swordsman, a shipwright, a doctor and I’m not a muscian!.... I.. I don’t belong here, Luffy.. please.”
Tears welled up in your eyes as you drop your arms to your side, clenching your fists tightly that your nails dug into your own skin to make it bleed.
The others were stunned, unable to say anything as Luffy was growing even more irritated and annoyed with you. “Shut up, [Name]. You’re pissing me off.” He bluntly stated, shocking the others.
He widens his glare at you as he stood up. “YOU’RE MY FRIEND! IT DOESN’T MATTER IF YOU DONT HAVE ANY SPECIAL POSITION HERE! YOU’RE ON THIS SHIP BECAUSE YOU’RE OUR FRIEND AND WE’RE YOURS, RIGHT?!”
Hearing his words made you gasp as you shut your lips and felt your tears falling faster at it, Luffy getting ready to lunge at you but Franky and Sanji held him back.
“SO STOP CRYING AND DON’T EVER THINK OF YOURSELF AS A BURDEN! I’LL SCREAM IT TO YOU AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS EVERYDAY UNTIL YOU FINALLY REALIZE IT! WE WILL NEVER MAKE YOU CRY TEARS OF SADNESS BECAUSE WE’RE YOUR FRIENDS! ANYONE WHO MAKES YOU SAD IS GONNA FEEL MY WRATH AND I’LL KILL THEM!”
You sobbed harder at his words, dropping to your knees as you brought your hands up to your face to cover it. The bottle long forgotten as the others just stare and Luffy finally calmed down, panting heavily.
They turn to you with small smiles.
“He’s right, [Name].” Nami says softly, Robin nodding along. “Yes. We’re always by your side. You are always our friend, and always welcomed here.”
Nami stood up and began making her way over to your side, crouching down beside you and wrapped an arm around your neck. She smiles brightly at the sight of you sobbing at their kindness.
Franky started tearing up, wiping his eyes. “HOW EMOTIONAL!”
Chopper and Usopp were also sniffling, trying their best to not cry but they couldn’t help it.
Snot already running down their nose as Chopper jumped down and lunges himself into you, clinging on, with his own loud sobs filling the room.
Sanji and Zoro only smiled at their captain’s effect and your figure, knowing that you finally learned how your crew and friends felt.
Suddenly, you felt a hand on top of your head, ruffling up your head a bit and you slowly glance up to see Zoro pressing his hand down on you, a small smirk present on his lips.
"No one is at fault. No one is useless on this ship. The captain invited you onto his ship because you are our friend, someone he cares about and would risk his life for. Everyone on this ship would risk their lives for each other, even if it meant death. You are now part of our crew so that means you too. So don't ever say those words again."
Listening and agreeing with the swordsman, they all offer you their signature smiles, your eyes widening more at them as you wipe your tears.
Seeing their contagious smiles, you couldn’t help but give your own genuine smile through your tears.
"Thank you.. everyone.”
Luffy, no longer feeling the anger from just moments prior, secures the hat on top of his head before grinning widely at you.
“Of course!”
You weren’t a burden. You weren’t useless. There was always a place for you here. You were part of their family, and they’d die for you.
-
A/N : This might seemed a little rushed or all over the place, so sorry ;-;

A Real Mystery Island!
@rxpper-roo
{🏹} “Guys, c’mon! I know Luffy got all excited when we spotted this island, but did he really have to pick US to explore it?! Why didn’t he do it himself!?” despite being perfectly kitted out for the humid weather on this jungle-esque island, Usopp still found ways to complain about their situation. The Straw Hat Pirates had just made landfall on a new, mysterious island, one that didn’t even exist in any cartographer records! So naturally, Luffy decided that this “Mystery Island” had to be explored and mapped out!
{💰} “You think I wanna be here either!?” snapped the voice of Nami, their navigator and cartographer, as she’d just sigh and look upon a device on her wrist; it looked like a compass of sorts, but it was going all sorts of crazy. “Besides, now that we’ve made landfall, it’ll take at least a day or three for the Log Pose to readjust itself. So we just gotta bite the bullet and live with it.”
{🏹} “But you’re perched on Franky’s shoulder!” Usopp immediately points out Nami being sat upon one of the massive, bulky shoulders of their shipwright, the cyborg Franky, who was pushing his way through trees and bushes like nothing, whilst Nami relaxed atop his shoulder. “Technically, I should be up there! I’m a Sniper for cryin’ out loud, I should be given the tactical vantage point!”
{🛠} “Yo, could you two pipe it down a bit?!” Franky asks the two of them, before he pushes past another series of trees. “A-ha! Knew my senses weren’t messing with me! Look!” and the trio would look ahead of themselves as they’d spot the ruins of a... castle? Well, it sure looked like a castle, but it was all metallic and... mechanical? “Whoever lived here had a killer sense for tech! I don’t think he’d mind if we’d... ‘borrow’ some of it!” Franky grins brightly at the prospect of designing new weapons, as the cyborg lumbers over, with Usopp hurriedly following in tow.
{🏹} “Oh, why do I have the dreading sense that my ‘Should’ve-Stayed-At-The-Ship’ sickness is gonna kick in again soon--”

Winter Whimsies ❄️
WHIMSICAL NIGHT
Vignette #: 7
Disclaimer: One Piece (and its characters) belongs to Eiichiro Oda-sensei.
Reminder: I have no beta-reader. Any grammatical and spelling errors are solely mine.
Warning: OOC possible. One shot.
Rating: T
Note: Late entry because I'm honestly getting confused between work and timezones. I hope I made it. For the ZoNa Holiday 2020 at @zonamievents. December 22 theme: Starry Night / Fireplace.
Summary: “I honestly don't know which I like watching more."
As Nami closed the door of library, she shivered slightly when the cold winter air brushed against her cheeks.
The party was now over. Dinner had been delicious and after that, they all decided to huddle in front of the Christmas tree in the library; right in front of the makeshift electric fireplace Franky had built as his gift for the whole crew. A little something to make the ambiance more.... supeeerrrr Christmas-y.
Honestly if you ask her, it reeks of Robin's influence on the cyborg. Majority of the crew knows that when the archaeologist requests... the shipwright provides.
Those two really has something going on between them. Usopp better prepare himself for it because he will lose his bet with her.
With the artificial flames setting the whole room aglow, Sanji served his specially concocted Christmas beverages as the Straw Hats pirates went on to exchange gifts, laughter and stories along with unbelievable anecdotes during the past two years they've been away from each other and as of recently as well.
As the party dwindled down, Luffy nearly passed out when he accidentally drank from Zoro's mug, creating commotion and nearly toppling the Christmas tree over. Sure, the chef prepared hot and festive drinks for everyone to enjoy but since the swordsman was anything but a fan of sweets; the blond had digressed and made him something special and alcoholic. For the sake of shitty Christmas spirit.
Something potent and alcoholic should be the exact words. Luffy spent the rest of the evening, babbling nonsense and chortling randomly. His one rubber arm kept wrapping around and around a now-harassed Usopp before Zoro hooked an arm on his neck and whispered something in his ear. Whatever it was, it stopped the rubber man from badgering the sniper and spent the rest of the party with his head resting on Zoro's lap, mumbling about becoming the 'pirate king' repeatedly and finally passing out.
Everyone took it as a cue to finally call it a night. Chopper was also nodding off and rubbing his sleepy eyes as he was obviously fighting to stay awake because they were still having so much fun. When Zoro set down his tankard and scooped up their snoring captain under one arm and Chopper on the other. Everyone followed suit to start cleaning the mess in the library before turning in.
Nami rubbed her hands up and down her arms trying to warm up a little as the wind bit at her cheeks slightly. They had so much fun earlier. It was nice to finally sit down with everyone to celebrate and not because they are planning to raid a country or steal from a Yonko.
She peered at the library window, checking if there was anything amiss. She had left the lights of the tree on, letting it illuminate the now darkened room. It was beautiful to look at. And somehow, it makes her feel warm and giddy inside.
Satisfied that all was tidied up and that the crew had now retired to their respective rooms, Nami made her way down the galley to go to her quarters. She stopped on the lawn deck to admire the ice lights festooning it; speckled like hundreds of tiny white, winter stars.
She had to admit that their crew put an effort in adorning their beloved ship. But as much as she wanted to revel at its beauty, it needs to be switched off as it calls too much attention from other sailing vessels.
Franky had told her where he had surreptitiously placed the switch before disappearing down the docking station to his weapons' room, mumbling about working on something for the approaching new year.
Which she doesn’t believe, really. After all, this is a special night and she highly doubt he will be tinkering with something instead of spending some quality time with someone special
She located the switch taped behind the mast and flicked it off.
Immediately the white lights irradiating the deck disappeared…
… only to be replaced by something more breathtaking as the winter night sky become visible to her eyes.
She looked up, astounded.
Millions of stars dotted the sky. There were so many of them that it looked like the sky had burst out and scattered shimmering jewels everywhere and not one single space was left empty.
It was dazzling. It was magnificent.
It was...
"I honestly don't know which I like watching more."
Nami turned towards the voice’s direction. Zoro was standing near the stairs leading to the girls’ room, observing her.
And here she thought he was already sleeping.
Realizing that what he just said was meant to butter her up and place him in her good graces, she laughed. "Well, I’m guessing you’d pick the stars just to spite me!" She quipped, winking at him and pointing her finger up at the sky.
His lips quirked up into a smile. That one particular smile that speaks volume of what he really, truly feels for her.
"I would,” he jibed back. “Yet still you put them to shame."
Nami couldn't fight the giddy smile that pulled at her lips, nor the heat that rose to her cheeks, warming them up. She placed both of her hands on her hips to as if to chastise him.
"I take it that that is your Christmas gift to me?"
Zoro chuckled.
She pouted as he approached her. "You are THAT broke?"
"Your fault." He bent down to kiss her nose. "You did spend most of my money on your gift, right?"
Nami beamed. "Weeell... true."
He leaned in further to her. "And you did say you are already wearing it. Why don't we open my present now?"
She burst into light-hearted giggles even as she rolled her eyes at him and drew him towards her by wrapping her arms around his waist.
"I don’t know. It's too cold Zorooo..."
He was laughing all of sudden and a brazen leer appeared on his face.
She furrowed her brows at him.
"You know, Franky built two of those fireplace things we had at the library." He grinned at her. Shit-eating. One that promises no good for her tonight. "Someone must've told him that the nest is too cold to stay in these past few nights."
Nami's eyes regarded him curiously.
"Plus," Zoro cocked his head to the side to look at her. "Robin's gift is fitting. You should check how awesome that blanket feels..."
As realizations dawned into her, Nami perked up and returned Zoro's grin with a wider one.
"Damn it! Those two are good. Really, really good!"

what do you think an average day in the strawhat kitchen would be like?
Yay!! My first ask! Thank you so much, Anon! I decided to write about the morning part of the day, if that’s okay. I’m setting this scenario after Water 7 and before Thriller Bark because I forgot about Brook & Jinbe. I hope you enjoy!
Italics = dialogue (including rudimentary French)
Bold Italics = Japanese (spelled out, idk kanji)

An Average Day
The day begins early. There’s a thread of light leaking under the door even before dawn. Peeking in, a familiar lanky-noodle of a man can be seen in rumpled clothes, still wiping the sleep from his eyes. The soft clatter of dishes can be heard as his hands shuffle about on autopilot. One fist lifting a pan from a cabinet. Another fidgeting with the silk knot of his tie. A wisp of smoke trails from the corner of his lip and out the porthole window.
Every color of dawn passes through the windows. Dusky grey as the seas and shadows of night give way to light. He readjusts the buttons on his shirt that he missed. Faded indigo grows bright as flares of sunlight scatter across the wide open sky. He settles the loop of his tie under his collared shirt. The knot sits right beneath his throat. By then, the world out the window is nothing but blue.
Freshly pressed and clean as a chef can be, ‘Black Leg’ Sanji sets to work. The sizzling of ingredients over an open flame is enough to draw a few groaning bed-heads and rumbling stomachs into the room. Most are aware enough to mumble a greeting, which the chef appreciates. A small smile tugs at the edge of his cigarette as he registers each voice.
“Good morning, Chef-san,” a sweet voice croons into the room.
The click of recognition in Sanji’s brain is enough to send his heart a-flutter. “Robin-chwan!” Steam erupts from his ears like grease in a hot pan. “What a wonder it is to see you this lovely morning!” he crows. Spinning around on a perfectly-polished heel, he serves his beloved crewmate on the pristine porcelain plate she so admired back in Water 7. “A breakfast sandwich for our lovely nightingale. Bon appetit, mon amie.”
Robin hides a darling chuckle behind a delicate hand. Sanji can feel his knees wanting to crumble under the rush of hearing her laughter. Sparkling joy rushes down his spine. But he quickly shakes himself. There are more meals to be made, after all. And many more crewmates to feed.
Just as the willowy blonde cook turns back to the stove, he hears the crisp clop-clop of hooves on the hardwood floor. “Bon-bonjou--” A bright, squeaky little yawn follows the groaning of the kitchen door. “Bon morning, Sanji~”
The older cook chuckles to himself. “Très bonjour, Chopper,” He says, passing him a little wrapped package from the pantry. “This chocolate has some nuts in it, that okay?” The little reindeer gives a sleepy nod before wandering to sit next to the elegant Robin. Sanji smiles a little, gnawing on his cigarette.
All-too-soon, that chain-smoking cook hears the all-too familiar stomps of boots. The tinkling of scabbards like wind chimes rambles closer and closer until a bulky black shadow stands in the doorway. Sanji grits his teeth, nearly sawing his smoke in half. “Marimo.”
“Curly brow.”
“Go sit down.” The chef ground out. “Your food’s almost ready.”
“I think I’ll just stand here, actually.”
Sanji whirls around towards the swordsman. “You trying to piss me off, moss-hea—“
“Morning, Sanji-kun!”
Suddenly it was as if the clouds parted and the heavens opened up before him. But even the clouds of Skypiea could have hosted such a gorgeous angel. Sanji’s spinning feet nearly collapse underneath him. He pushes himself off the counter, eager to greet the darling of the Strawhat crew.
“Ah, Nami-swan!” He smiles, his heart singing at the sight of her. “What a blinding vision you are, a gift from the sea goddess herself!” He takes her hand in his, as if inviting her to dance. Her fiery sunset hair flares in the early morning light. Her warmth amber eyes dance with flattered mirth. The softness of her hand against his calloused palm has Sanji’s pulse fluttering in his ears. He leads her gracefully to the table, where she’s seated with fresh squeezed orange juice and a bowl of equally-Colorful fruit salad. “Profiter, belle mademoiselle.”
“Merci beaucoup, Sanji-kun!”
If it weren’t for the brooding Marimo glaring a variety of blades into his back, Sanji may have just fainted on the spot. However, determined to maintain his composure, he simply lifted a bento from the table and showed it to the man over his shoulder. “I told you to sit down, Moss-head. You forget where your spot was?”
Zoro grunted. Marching up to the table he swiped the bento from Sanji’s grip and dropped himself down on the dining room bench. The chef huffed. Ungrateful brute. And a messy one at that. Within a moment of sitting down, he has rice grains stuck to his cheeks and chin. Sanji rolled his eyes and returned to work. At least Zoro was enjoying the meal. That was all a good cook could ask for.
“urgh-guh-morning...” the rambling natter of a long-nosed sniper sounds almost gravely at such an early hour. Sanji can hear the soft scritch-scratch of the young man ruffling his mop of unruly curls.
“Mornin’ Long-nose,” he greets the younger man. He thinks he might hear a grumble of protest from the rumpled boy. Sanji chuffs to himself. Wordlessly, he passes Ussop a seafood omelette and a bottle of tabasco on his shuffle to the table. After a moment of hushed tapping, ceramic and silverware and murmurs of morning voices—Sanji blinks. He turns to the sniper once more. “Where’s Franky?”
“Bulled in all-Nighteye in da-shop again,” Ussop slurs. “He’s passed out. Da-sided to let’em sleep this time.”
The chef absorbs this information with a thoughtful nod. He knows there’s another bento box in the cabinet somewhere. He just needs to find one to fit Franky’s appetite. The shop is his anchoring place. Sanji will take the shipwright’s meal down there before washing up. Everybody gets messy in that place.
Speaking of appetite—“SANJI~!!”
Everybody looked up. The cook turned and braced for impact. Sure enough—THWAP! The rubbery captain smacked into him with all the force of a Marine cannonball. Sanji heaved, but managed to stand his ground. All the while, Luffy was chanting.
“Oi, Sanji! I smell food, you got food? I smell meat, do you have meat? I love meat, ‘specially meat on the bone. You got any of that, Sanji?!”
“You bet your ass I do,” Sanji retorted. Pulling open the SUPER deluxe oven Franky made last week, the chef reveals his culinary masterpiece. Three dinosaur-sized legs of meat, with a cleaned bone on one side, just like his captain liked it.
He’d had to let them marinade overnight just to make sure he didn’t make the rubber-twerp sick with undercooked meat. He wasn’t sure the impulsive freak could get sick. But he didn’t want to be the one to test that theory. Franky had to assure him many times over that the oven wouldn’t catch fire if left in attended. Just looking at the finished product, Sanji could feel his tired bones sag with relief.
Luffy had all three ‘meat sticks’ in hand in the blink of an eye. Sanji turned and growled at him. “Go sit and eat at the table, you rubber animal!”
“Course I will, Sanji. I’ll always eat what you cook!” Luffy replies with a beaming grin.
“That’s not what I—”
“Hey Ussop! I got more meat than you!”
“Of course you did, Luffy, you’re a freak of nature.”
“I think you mean force of nature—“ Nami-san commented dryly.
And so their chatter continued. Every voice overlapping and rising in a joyful noise unlike Sanji had ever heard before. Even when he sailed on the Orbit, or with the fighting cooks on the Baratie. The next time he blinked, that thrice-blasted swordsman was in front of him again. Empty bento in hand, mossy green hair mussed in all directions—the stoic fool eyed him with a level stare. Sanji was just about to bark an insult at him when...Zoro’s sash brushed past his arm. He walked just close enough so Sanji could hear:
“Itadaki—merci, Ero-cook. You did good.”
Where little embers of embarrassment were glowing on the swordsman’s ears, Sanji’s face caught fire. He stomped out his cigarette. Then quickly lit another. One deep breath. A plume of smoke follows his exhale like a sleeping dragon.
“De-rien—Dou itashimashite. Anytime, Baka.”

Straw-Hat Pirates Death Headcanons
So someone on one my fics took up on my enthusiastic invitation in my end-author notes to ask me about my death headcanons for the Straw-Hat Pirates. (Shoutout to Jeanne-Crab on ao3 for that comment!) I was typing out my answer to that question and realised that I had Way More To Say About It Than I Thought, so I thought i might as well put it up as a post on my tumblr!
I’ll split this into two parts; my headcanons for SHP’s deaths as I think it could happen in canon, and then specifically in how it would happen in the universe as set in my fic, like the seas, you live on (in me). (Shameless plug here: If you like zosan, and also appreciate angst and hurt/comfort, read my fic? It’s zosan-but-kind-of-not-but-also-kinda-is, it’s complicated, but it’s 30k and I worked Super Hard on it and I personally think it’s pretty good so if please give it a shot! Do Read The Tags Before Reading It, Though, because I would never want to cause people unnecessarily extreme distress. And read my other fics too if you want WHOOP)  Anyway, without ado, here’s my headcanons for Straw-Hat Pirates’ deaths. This is a very very Very Long post, so buckle up:
AS PER CANON
First off: Everybody, by the time of their death, has achieved their life’s dreams, because of course they have. (I won’t hear of anything otherwise, go away!!)
Luffy: Luffy dies in the war on Raftel, or wherever the final battle for being Pirate King happens. He definitely becomes Pirate King, don't get me wrong, but he dies very soon after because of his injuries and because of the amount of his lifespan he has traded in using his Gears. This is the one headcanon I think (FEAR) will happen - Oda's constant allusion to Luffy's lifespan in his use of Gears and things like that just feels so suspect to me in this regard...
Luffy is buried near where Ace is, because that's what he would've wanted and so that's what the Straw-Hat Pirates did. Not right next to Ace (because that would mean Luffy’s also buried right next to Whitebeard and that doesn't feel right to me for some reason), but somewhere close by, either on the other side of the same island or on an island very, very close by. His emblematic pirate flag is erected on his grave, and its symbol flaps ceaselessly in the wind, always in the direction of where the sea is closest to. (And next to a village called Foosha, however, deep in the heart of a mountain called Mt. Colubo, a monument to a boy is erected posthumously by the mountain bandits and villagers who live there, at the base of a tree where a dilapidated treehouse still stands despite all the years.)
Luffy is the only one to die so young; the rest don't die until years later. By that time, though, they've long stopped sailing together as the Straw-Hat Pirates. Think of it like how Gol D. Roger's pirates split themselves off after the death of their captain; they're still friends for sure, and they hold each other as very precious, but there is no point or need to sail together as pirates anymore after the death of their captain, whom they have rallied themselves with.
For the rest, I'm not sure who will die first, because within the One Piece canon literally So Many Things can happen, but here’s their burial arrangements:
Brook: Brook was interesting to figure out, because he's technically already died once before. I was trying to work out what the implications of his devil fruit is (is he immortal? But given the reverence given to Law's Immortality Surgery, that doesn't seem likely), and I decided that users of Brook's devil fruit will go once they decide it's time to just...go. So that's what Brook did. He lived until Laboon finally passes on, to make sure Laboon is never left behind again, and then he gathers the rest of the Straw-Hat Pirates in one place, says his goodbyes, and simply...leaves. His bones collapse on the ground with no spirit to hold them up, and per his request his bones are scattered over West Blue. His violin and sword cane are erected as part of a monument next to Luffy’s grave.
Robin: I’m not precisely sure HOW Robin would die, but probably for her she would die quite peacefully, of old age. Frankly speaking, after all she’s been put through from childhood to adulthood, she deserves a little peace at least at the end of her life. Robin’s monument next to Luffy’s grave is a simple pair of crossed arms made of pale marble (one of the hands holds a book). Her body isn’t buried there, however; in the West Blue, on a barren stretch of scorched land that people say used to be called Ohara, a singular grave can be found in the centre of it.
Franky: His monument next to Luffy’s grave is of his blue metal forearms (one of which is holding a little hammer). Franky's grave of his human parts, however, are buried on Water 7, at the spot where him and Iceburg and Tom used to work on trains together. A mini replica of Sunny shaped out of metal is on top of it, to tell everyone that the shipwright that built the second pirate ship that ever sailed to Raftel lies here.
Usopp: Unlike everybody else, Usopp asks to have his burial place split into two places. To make this easier, he’s cremated. One half of his ashes is buried in Syrup Village, next to his mother’s grave, and the other half of him is buried under a monument next to Luffy’s. On his monument are the words, “The Bravest Warrior of the Sea, Sniper Usopp, A Giant Among Men” (or words to that effect). His crewmates chose those words for him. His Sogeking mask is hung on his monument. His grave in Syrup Village, however, is much simpler; his original green slingshot is fastened to it (and will slowly wear down, over the years, to an unrecognisable sun-bleached stump), and on it are the words “The greatest liar of Syrup Village that has ever lived”.
Nami: Nami also gets a monument next to Luffy’s grave. (Okay right at this point just assume that every Straw-Hat Pirate has a monument next to Luffy’s grave!!) However, like Robin and Franky, her monument doesn’t have her body. Nami is buried at Cocoyashi, at the cliff overlooking the sea where her mother Belle-mere was (and where her sister is/was buried too, depending whether Nami dies before or after Nojiko does). With her in the grave is the original copy of the world map she has made, her greatest triumph.
Zoro: Zoro probably dies the most second most violent death after Luffy, what with being the world’s greatest swordsman and all. Probably he is killed/ mortally wounded by someone who comes to take his title, as he probably did to Mihawk before him. He’s cremated, and his ashes are buried next to Luffy’s as Luffy’s first mate and right-hand man (Zoro is first mate even if it was never officially stated!!!). His swords, however, are a different story; Wado Ichimonji I believe Zoro requests to be brought back to Shimotsuki, and put next to Kuina’s grave. As for the other two swords, I don’t know HOW precisely it will happen but it’s left out in the wide world for whoever is worthy to wield them again, because I think Zoro wouldn’t believe in keeping the blades for himself post-mortem.
Sanji: He also gets a monument next to Luffy. His body, however, is not there; when Sanji dies he is cremated and his ashes are scattered throughout All-Blue, where a floating restaurant called the Baratie now stays; the most famous restaurant there is in the entire world, and it’s unique in that no matter who you are, if you are hungry and come through the door, you get to eat.
Chopper: He’s probably the last one to die, I think. Not only because he’s the youngest but also because he’s a doctor, I’m sure he knows how to heal himself up whenever he gets sick. His body is buried next to Luffy’s grave, but on Drum Island, there is a monument with a distinctive hat design erected underneath the base of a sakura tree; the tree, despite the wintry climate of the island, blooms pink and full all year round. (Chopper worked with Usopp on genetically developing a sakura horticulture that could do that, before their deaths).
Jinbe: Jinbe buried underneath the sea, but close to where sunlight will always shine bright because that has always been the fishmen’s dream. His underwater grave bears his past as a Sun Pirate and all the contributions and sacrifices he has made for his people, but his monument on land, he is noted (like all the others), as a most dearly and beloved member of the Straw-Hat Pirates, one whose loyalty never wavered, up until the end.
Monuments of Going Merry and Thousand Sunny are erected, because ships are crewmates too.
AS PER MY FIC’S UNIVERSE
In terms of burial arrangements, everything I said about all the Straw-Hats above are applicable here (unless stated otherwise below), PLUS what I will say here below:
Robin and Franky: I think in my fic, Robin and Franky would be the first to die, because they're the oldest (save for Brook). In my fic’s universe it is Never Mentioned but Franky and Robin are as good as married, and had spent their whole lives together (I'm sorry but Frobin is Real to me and you can pry it out of my cold dead hands). Their monuments are side-by-side next to Luffy's. On top of their monuments holding their respective items, their monuments' hands hold each other's.
Chopper: Chopper has yet to die at the time of my fic, but when he does, whatever I described above will apply. At the point of the fic he has already worked out the horticulture of the ever-blooming sakura tree and it has already been planted in Drum Island, and has been growing steadily for years.
Zoro and Sanji: Zoro and Sanji have yet to die at the time of my fic. Their burial arrangements would be the same, however. As for HOW they might die, I recommend you read my fic to find out! (I can’t give away all my cards, obviously.)
That’s all! This has become an awfully long post, and I commend you if you managed to reach this far to the end. Let me know what you think of this: do you agree? Disagree? I would love to discuss this with people, it would be very fascinating, no matter how thoroughly sad. In the meantime, if you’d like to read any one piece fanfiction, feel free to check out my ao3 :)

Marine Parents
A new fic I’ve written which I hope anyone reading will like. If there’s anything you want to comment about feel free to do so! I’m open to constructive criticism.
Main Characters: Trafalgar D Water Law and Nami (No Shipping)
Secondary Characters: Ussop, Smoker, Tashigi
Mentioned Characters: Corazon, Belle-mere, Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Chopper, Robin, Franky, Brook, Momonosuke, Kinemon, Doflamingo
Genre: Very light angst, humour, general
Summary:  Law overhears Nami talking to Ussop about Belle-mere leading to Law talking to Nami about their marine parents. Set in canon timeline on the first night that they leave Punk Hazard.
Word count: 2,288 words
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Room"- Law had just finished extracting the NHC-10 poison from the children's bodies when the Strawhat navigator strolled into the room brazenly whilst the sniper toiled behind her.
"I thought I said that no one should peek in until I say so" said Law nonchalantly tinged with an undercurrent air of authority.
"How are you feeling kids?" Nami grinned at the children before she tilted her head and flicked her hair in his direction to acknowledge his words. Law should have expected the strong-headed navigator to ignore his thinly veiled irritation just as the other Strawhats had before her. "Sorry, Nami was just worried" said the sniper in a soft tone.
Taking a last look at the children's blood composition using his scan he moved to walk out of the room and cast a glance at the beaming woman taking pleasure in talking with the kids and the sniper standing to her side recounting some sort of fable. He will not be saddled with children whilst going on a dangerous mission no matter what Strawhat said and he steeled himself to tell Strawhat just as much if he even suggested a detour. Not for the first time Law questioned where this alliance will lead him and if he'd made a mistake.
Just as he was walking out of the room he passed by the female marine he had humiliated earlier in the day. She raised her head, took a look into his eyes and willed herself not to grimace, "I take it that you're done" she spoke in clipped short tones. Standing straighter Law smirked in place of an answer. He might have saved those children but he still had a reputation to uphold. Huffing in response Tashigi moved past the surgeon and into the room.
Law should make his way to where food was being served and yet he hid in the shadows right outside the room. He might have teamed up with Smoker on this island but that didn't mean that he trusted the marines. The navigator's attitude towards him was irksome but he'd be damned if his alliance burned before it started just because he let his guard down and allowed a sword-wielding marine get close to the unsuspecting duo. Should the female marine move suspiciously he will bind her before she caused damage. Law was confident that his ally could subdue Smoker if the conflict grew. He raised his hand and posed his fingers "Roo-"
"I beg of you!! Please allow me to take care of those children!"
That startled Law for half a second before he dropped his hand back down. He decided to observe for the time-being. Nami turned around, planted her feet widely on the ground, crossed her arms and looked down on the still-bowing Tashigi. Despite her scantily clad body, in that instant, Nami looked ferocious and Tashigi, whilst still bowing to a pirate, drew her shoulders together in shame and plea. Judging by the look on the orange-haired girl's face Nami was going to explode in anger at Tashigi's request- and rightfully so! It was the marine's fault that the kids were in danger for so long in the first place. Ussop was in the back trying to calm down the children and allow the adults to...negotiate.
A small and forgotten part of Law seethed in anger at the presumptuous marine for even thinking that they could make up for their mistakes without consequence. Taking a quick breath he buried his anger and watched with bated breath for what the navigator would do. The seconds trickled by and Law watched in fascination as the knots in the navigator's brows unfurled and her clenched teeth relaxed. Puffing out air in resignation she calmly said "Okay" and grabbing the shocked sniper's arm moved past Tashigi to walk towards the door.
Law was dumbfounded but he managed to recover quick enough to move past the shadows and towards the congregation of marines and pirates before the Strawhat duo noticed him. Nami and Ussop joined in and the cook took off his coat and offered it to Nami. The surgeon took a bowl of soup for himself and another one for the marine Vice Admiral sitting on an uprooted rock some distance away from the mayhem. Sitting contently on a wooden crate he talked with Smoker.
"I know you're planning to use the Strawhat to start something" said Smoker with an air of resignation. Out of the corner of his eye Law spotted Nami walking away from the mess and towards the deck of the tanker with Ussop following her. "Use, huh...I wonder who's using whom..." he answered distractedly. Law got up, threw his bowl, and walked in the same direction as Nami and Ussop but not before he glanced back at Smoker and added "Anyway, I'm planning on heading to Green Bit now, but....I wonder if I'll be able to manage Strawhat-ya's crew...".
Law stood behind the mast of the tanker and watched on as the Strawhat shipwright was expertly fixing the deck. He could clearly hear Nami and Ussop's conversation and while he was not one for eavesdropping he was curious as to why the navigator relented the children to the marines -the ones who've wronged them in the first place- so easily when it was clear how protective she was of them.
"Did you figure out everything with the marines? Concerning the children I mean" said Ussop jovially and Nami answered in a wistful voice "I'm no match when facing down a marine woman...". Law was confused to say the least. Why would a pirate be weak towards a marine? And why a female marine of all things? "Ah, that's right. Your mother...she was a marine!" exclaimed the sniper in a chipper tone. Suddenly Law understood and he willed himself to walk away whilst internally berating himself for giving into his curiosity. He cannot afford to be distracted like this.
Soon the festivities came to an end, the marines and the children sailed away in the newly fixed tanker and Law boarded the Strawhat crew's ship to sail to Dressrosa. After recounting the plan to the rest of the Strawhats and affirming their alliance the crew fell into an easy rhythm until night took over. Law chose to take first watch with Franky while the others went to rest. Luffy, Brook and Zoro took to the bunks in the men's room while Nami, Robin and Momonosuke took to the bunks in the women's room. Sanji and Kinemon decided on some midnight drinking to will away their jealousy towards the child and Ussop and Chopper frightfully decided to keep watch all night.
Some hours passed by and the rotation of watch switched. Sanji and Kinemon had passed out from drinking while Franky, Ussop and Chopper had gotten exhausted and retired to the men's bunk room. Brook and Nami got up to take second watch. Law opted to rest on the grassy deck instead of retiring in the men's room because this was still a rival ship and pirate alliances were riddled with betrayal. Brook took to keeping an eye on the front of the ship whilst Nami walked to the back of the ship to keep watch.
After a while Law got exhausted from the grassy deck and decided to find something to eat or drink from the galley so he got up and trucked his way towards the stairs. Once he climbed the stairs he heard a faint wheezing sound coming from behind the galley and while Law would have been perfectly fine ignoring the masked coughs; he decided against his better judgement to see if the navigator was alright because he was still a doctor at the end of the day. Making his way around the galley he saw the orange-haired navigator hunched down next to the ship rails with her hands at her mouth trying to stifle a cough raking her body.
She had yet to notice him but we made his way towards her "Oy! are you getting sick?! Let's get you to the infirmary. Can you get up on your own?". Noting the crumpled cigarette and the ashes at her feet he put two and two together to make four. It seems that he was unnecessarily worried. The girl had taken a smoke and it must have been a new thing for her. Wondering what would spur her to try smoking was wasted effort; he didn't know her personally enough to judge what would be out of character for her.
The coughs came to an end and Nami raised herself from the ground with the help of the rails. Taking a final clear breath and ignoring his concerns again she said to herself "Blegh! How could Sanji stand this stuff? It's disgusting! Belle-mere too! I swear-" She stopped herself from continuing when she finally noticed that it wasn't any of her crew members who was standing in front of her. "Torao!....I thought you were - nevermind; did you want something?" and she straightened her back masking her slip with an air of confidence.
Before Law could catch himself he heard his own voice ask "Is Belle-mere your mother's name?". He watched as Nami's brows furrowed, jaws hardened and her hand moved to grip tightly at her bicep where her tattoo rested. "Where did you hear that?!" She retaliated. "I swear if those idiots are going around blabbering their mouths!! Aghhh Was it Ussop?? It was him wasn't it? That idiot with a penchant for stories! I'm going to go teach him a lesson right now!!". Law had to rectify his slip of tongue before this escalated "Wait. It wasn't long-nose-ya - or anyone from your crew - I just overheard you and him talking yesterday."
Puffing out the air she trapped in her lungs Nami gripped her arm tighter and answered curtly "I see".
Law gripped his hat and cast his eyes down deciding that he wouldn't divulge everything with her but still continued on "My caretaker was also a marine....". "Was?..." she questioned. "He died 13 years ago" And this time she loosened her grip and answered sympathetically "I see...mine died 12 years ago" And Law was startled again; he had assumed that her mother was safe and alive; fulfilling her marine duties just as Strawhat-ya's grandfather has.
Nami planted her hands at her hips and with a large cheshire grin declared to Law "I bet my mom could have wiped the floor with your dad! My mom was the strongest marine!" She continued to beam at him; he raised his head and let out a short chuckle "She probably could have. Cora-san was too clumsy to be able to fight for any length of time". Feeling a kindred spirit within her he continued "So, your mother was a smoker too? I hope she wasn't prone to burning herself with one!" A look of confusion crossed Nami's face before she caught on "That clumsy?! Wow! No, Belle-mere was rowdy but stable on her feet".
They laughed for a bit before settling down. Wiping the mirth from his voice he asked "So what made you want a smoke after 12 years?". Nami, too, sobered up "Ah, I found some in Sanji-kun's jacket and the kids reminded me of Belle-mere so I thought I'd give it a try to see what's fun about it" scrunching her nose "I don't recommend it.....Ah, but I guess a doctor would know better!"
They fell into a comfortable silence and Nami started up "I was actually wondering....are your tattoos for....?" Law took a look at her tangerine-pinwheel tattoo and the tangerine trees up above them before answering "Yeah.....you could say so....Yours?"
"Yup! Ah, but mine's also for my father of sorts.... He's back home with my big sister!"
Law thought back to Lami and his parents and felt a swirl of regret and sadness wash over him. He wishes that Lami was still alive and that he could talk with her, take her to her favourite festivals, eat ice cream with her, anything....anything, just sit by her side, hold her hand, read her books..."...ao.Torao. Torao, can you hear me?"
"Yeah, just thinking" Nami pursed her lips and hesitated "I see, I'm sorry about your family Torao"
"Me too" he answered
Letting some air out Law asked the question he had wanted to ask her since he learned that her mother was a marine "Do you think she would have approved? You being a pirate I mean?"
Nami leaned her back into the rails and fiddled with the ruined cigarette "I don't know..." she tilted her head up towards the moon "I'll never know but I think she would have liked me living freely as I am now. Marine, pirate, civilian...whatever it takes me to map out the whole world!!"
And Law thought back to Cora-san and the lengths he went through to keep him alive, the risks he took, the people he betrayed...all for Law. He'll never know if Cora-san would approve of his revenge or his status as a pirate but maybe...maybe he would at least not hate him for it, maybe Cora-san would be saddened or disappointed but at least he won't hate him....
"I see...I hope you fulfil your dream Nami-ya"
"You too Torao! Ah, but if you want to become Pirate King then give it up, only my captain will be one!" She declared with the confidence of a thousand armies.
Smirking in response he started making his way to the galley for that drink he came up for but paused and answered in a cool tone "We'll have to take care of Kaido first...then we can think about Pirate Kings!"
Maybe this alliance wasn't so bad after all.

Even If It Breaks Your Heart
Tori stood in the shower in the women’s quarters bathroom - she savored the comfort of the heat - thankful to be back on Law’s ship.  She had not had a moment to herself since the night she had decided to follow Law.  The hot water cascaded down her neck and shoulders, washing away her stress. Robin and Usopp had been rescued, but there was still the question of what would happen next.  They had all but lost the element of surprise - Kaido’s men had to know that they were on Wano - this assumption prompted Law to request that Zoro and the others to return to ship as soon as possible.
Tori’s thoughts turned to Franky - she wondered what price the free-spirited goofball’s mind, spirit, and soul would pay for what had been done.  Tori knew that killing changed a person - no matter the reason.  Law had tried to mask it, but Tori had sensed his worry for the cyborg shipwright as well.  Franky had not roused when Tori and the others retired, and Tori wondered how the situation would affect the other Straw Hats.  Robin had been uncharacteristically upset - her actions had not been what Tori would have expected from the more reserved of the Straw Hat crew members she had encountered.   Robin had flatly and animatedly refused Law’s request to take care of herself and get some rest - after some coaxing by Usopp, and a promise to advise her as soon as Franky was awake -  Robin had been fed and was sleeping.
Tori stepped out of the shower and dried herself off - she ran her fingers along the half-moon scar that ran along her diaphragm - a visual reminder of the past - the mark was as ugly as the memory.  Tori was reminded of the first life she took, and how it had affected her - she remembered the man who scarred her - in more ways than one.  She pushed away the knot that built in her stomach caused by the images that flooded her mind - her breath hitched as she forced herself out of the memory.  Her hands shook as she wrapped the sarashi around herself - raising one hand to wipe the tears that fell freely from her eyes.  She wound the tail of the binding across her chest  - tucking the end underneath itself to secure it.   She inhaled deeply to regain her composure - she threw on her pants and a tank top and padded barefoot down the hall.
Tori neared the doorway of the Infirmary and she heard Law’s voice - he was speaking to Franky.  She stopped and pressed her back against the wall - listening closely, she hoped that Franky was awake.  “Do you know where you are, Robo-ya?”  Franky choked out his words the best he could - she could hear that he was still very upset, “Yes - I had to go.  I’m sorry.  I had to.  I had to save Robin.”  Law’s voice was calm, but strained.  “I asked you to stay here, and you said that you would.  Why couldn’t you trust me to take care of it?”
Franky sniffled, his voice was more clear - earnest.  “Listen, Torao - it’s not a matter of trusting you or not.  Every one of us trusts you.  It was a matter of having to sit here and wait for someone else to do my job.  There are some things that a man must do for himself.  I know you understand that.”  Law frowned and sighed, “I do, but did you consider the consequences, Robo-ya?”  Franky’s broke down again, “I will take whatever punishment comes.  I’m sorry - I know it was reckless -  but I love that woman more than my own life.  Have you ever loved someone like that?”
Law sighed, “Yes, I have - you do not have to justify that part to me.  I meant the weight of taking a life, Robo-ya.  You have to live with it, and you will be the one to tell Zoro what happened when he arrives.  Luffy too.”  Law stood up and adjusted himself, “Now -  there is someone who threatened to crush my tender parts if I did not inform her as soon as you were awake.  I doubt that was an idle threat.”   Franky’s memory flashed to the day that he joined the Straw Hat crew, and Robin’s method for convincing him.  He winced, “Trust me, you don’t want that.  I’m sorry that I caused trouble, Torao.”   Law sighed, “I know.”
Law stepped through the doorway, closing the door quietly behind him - he was surprised to see Tori waiting outside - her eyes were red-ringed with tears that had been recently wiped away, her tattooed arms wrapped around herself tightly.  “Tori-ya - what is it?” Tori cleared her throat, “I just  -“, she paused and sighed, “Can I just walk with you?”
“Of course.”
Tori sat on a small couch in Law’s office - he had stepped away to wake Robin and then get himself cleaned up.  He had not left Franky’s side since they had arrived.  Tori’s mood had improved somewhat - just being in Law’s presence had comforted her, and she found herself wishing that he was there now.   She pondered how it was that the man that had captured her and removed her heart - would now be a source of solace for her.  It defied logic - the various reasons that she should want to stay away from Law ran though her head.  Tori felt safe with him now - a stark comparison to the effect Law had on her at their first meeting.  She sighed heavily, the uncertainty of how to resolve the war that raged between her intellect and emotions weighed on her.  There was also something that she was compelled to get off her chest - she was unsure why, but she wanted him to hear it - she had never wanted to share things about herself with anyone.
“Do you want to tell me what is on your mind, Tori-ya?”  Law’s voice brought her out of her own thoughts - he held a cup of coffee in his outstretched hand.  Tori took the cup and stared at him for a moment, unsure of how to respond.  “It’s fine if you don’t, you can stay here as long as you like.  I have some work to do.” Law turned to walk toward his desk.
“Law?”  Tori’s voice shook.  Law turned to face her - he could see her failing to keep her emotions in check. “Yes?”  Tori exhaled deeply, fortifying herself.  She lowered her head, “I saw your reaction to what happened at the camp, and I feel like I need to tell you something - I do not want there to be anything that could cause an issue between us.”  Law considered Tori’s words carefully for a moment before sitting down on the couch next to her - her conduct had given him enough cause for concern already.  “I am listening.”
Tori closed her eyes - a lump of unease hung in her throat.  “I have killed a handful of people, but mostly when I was forced.  There was only once that I derived any pleasure from it - the first time.”
