Lynks / Tennis Song

"Queer dystopia of electro-Punk". Zwar etwas hochtrabend und doch irgendwie gelungene Einordung des bisherigen Wirkens von Lynks, aktuell Star der queeren Musikszene Londons. Allerdings scheinen bei Lynks Genie und Wahnsinn nahe beieinander zu liegen. Nach dem überragenden New Boyfriend (Tagestipp 29.09.2023) kamen die zwar durchgeknallten aber nicht so überzeugenden CPR und (What do you expect from) Sex with a stranger. Doch die aktuelle Single, der Zweiminüter Tennis Song ist wieder ziemlich gelungen. Erinnert mich ein bisschen an gute Metronomy Veröffentlichungen wie I´m Aquarius oder The Look. Doch auch wenn der Song von den Streaming Portalen als explizit (lyrics) gelabelt wurde lohnt sich eine nähere Befassung mit den irre witzigen Lyrics von Tennis Song.

[Video] Lynks teilt Video zu "Tennis Song"!

Nachdem Lynks Anfang des Jahres das Debütalbum "ABOMINATION" angekündigt hat, das am 12. April über Heavenly erscheint, gibt es mit "Tennis Song" eine weitere neue Single, die wie schon die vorherigen Auskopplungen "USE IT OR LOSE IT", "NEW BOYFRIEND", "CPR" und "(WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM) SEX WITH A STRANGER" von schicken Visuals untermalt wird.

Inhaltlich geht es in dem Lo-Fi-Pop um eine einseitige Liebesaffäre mit einem heterosexuellen Tennistrainer - was Lynks zunehmend immer mehr den Spaß nimmt, die gelb-grünen Bälle über das Netz zu schlagen, obwohl der Hausarzt nicht das erste Mal gepredigt hat, mit etwas mehr Sport ein bisschen das Herz-Kreislauf-System zu trainieren.
