Tokusatsu fans, real talk:
If you had or heard the score from Legend of the Dinosaurs before Cinema-Kan put their CD out in 2019, there’s a 100% chance it leads back to me. In the mid-2000s, I ripped the score-only audio track from the Toei laserdisc, cut them up into individual tracks, and later uploaded them online. Whoever it was that uploaded those tracks to YouTube got them from my files.
And if you’ve seen the Japanese version of Prophecies of Nostradamus, there’s a 90% chance it leads back to me.

Giant Slug!
Megalimax
Motivation: Food
Critter Type: Atomic Mutant
Attributes: Str 1, Dex 3, Con 3, Int 0, Per 1, Will 1
Ability Scores: Muscle 8, Combat 11, Brains 9,
Life Points: 13
Drama Points: 0
Special Abilities: Mucus, emotional influence (revulsion -2), Weakness (Salt damages as holy water), Animal Intelligence, Animal Communication, Small Size 1 (1/2 Fall Damage, damage dealt, +3 Stealth, +1 to hit larger targets, -1 ranged)
Name - Score - Damage - Notes
Dodge - 11 - None - Defense Action
Mucus - 14 - None - Must be grappled/held to take effect, reduces Dexterity by 1
Swallow - 11 - 3 - Slash/Stab, target counts as grappled if it lives
Possibly the most benign and useful of the mutations, these giant slugs produce a highly efficient fertilizer but are not kept anywhere outside the "Monster Island" facility due to humanity's instinctive disgust of them. They are only a foot in length but can eat smaller animals such as normal-sized mice and rats (which, along with their mutated cousins, also inhabit monster island). Normally, however, they eat decaying plant matter.

The Last Days of Planet Earth (1974)
Directed by Toshio Masuda
Given the current headlines, honestly this movie could have made today. A very different kind of Toho movie. Originally called Prophecies of Nostradamus. I stayed up late to watch it in 1987. I still have the VHS. Sorry, this movie has been on my mind a lot lately.

Bebop and the Book
It's a running joke in the series that Aziraphale hates bebop. He much prefers music with structure and organization, not something that is seemingly random and all over the place. But this not a meta about music per se; this is a meta about prophecy.
There are no accidents in GO, and it is definitely not an accident that Crowley brings up bebop again at this very moment in S1, just as Aziraphale spies the holy grail of prophetic books lying on the floor of the Bentley as he prepares to take his leave for the evening.
I used to have a book of Nostradamus's prophecies, one of those mass-selling paperbacks that you would find in those wire discount bins out the front of news agencies and the like back in the 1990's. I lost it long ago - loaned to it someone, and it never came back - but I remember it well. It featured all the quatrains he wrote - four-lined verses - with one hundred quatrains to a "Century." The book had commentary on the prophecies that were considered solved or supposedly had to come to pass, and on speculation as to what others might be. But the reason I'm mentioning it here, and its not only because Nostradamus is mentioned in the series, is because of the way the quatrains were - ah, how do I describe this - presented in sequence. That is, they weren't in a linear temporal sequence, they were jumbled up, so you had no idea as to when a particular quatrain was referring to.
Bebop, you see. Scattered. Deliberately done so by Nostradamus.
The same with the prophecies in Agnes Nutter's book.
There seem to be around five thousand prophecies in the book, looking at the range of numbers that appear, and they aren't in linear temporal order.
Although Aziraphale started his night's work with an act of bibliomancy - he opened the book at random and picked a random prophecy to read - he would have had to gone through the whole book to find the passages relevant to Adam. It didn't have an index to direct him to the right places, as Crowley noted in frustration when he tried to use it to work out how to get through the demonic Odegra ring of fire.
Despite the random nature of the prophecies Anathema always seemed to have the right note card at hand. Even when the violent storm Adam generated had swirled the cards from their wooden storage box and out of order, she knew which note should be next.
Bepop.
It was probably a good thing that Anathema never got around to putting all those prophecies on the cards into a computer.

thinking about old prophecies as a fantasy trope and like, in real life prophecies are typically relatively short term and then when they don't come true, they usually sort of fizzle into nothing or end up indefinitely extended. Older prophecies that are predicted to happen soon (relative to now) are generally hoaxes, in the sense of "not actually being made all that long ago" as opposed to the usual sense in which prophecies are hoaxes.
but in a fantasy world it needn't necessarily fit how real life prophecies operate on account of our prophets here actually potentially having real visions of the future or such. I imagine those would end up obscure long before the times in which they finally happen though, unless things were reinforced somehow...

Atomic Leach
Atomic Leach
Motivation: Suck Blood
Critter Type: Atomic Mutant
Attributes: Str 1, Dex 3, Con 3, Int 0, Per 2, Will 2
Ability Scores: Muscle 8, Combat 10, Brains 9,
Life Points: 9
Drama Points: 0-1
Special Abilities: +6 Swimming, +2 Aquatic Actions, Amphibious, Weakness (Dehydration and Salt), Poison 6 (targets Perception), Animal Intelligence, Animal Communication, Small Size (+5 Stealth, -4 ranged, -1 melee, 1/10th fall damage, 1/10th normal damage)
Name - Score - Damage - Notes
Bite - 9 - 1 - Slash/Stab, drains 1 point per minute, Injects Poison).
Hold On - 16 - 1 - Drain, Must bite first
Most atomic and chemical mutants are immune to the predations of this parasite, but un-irradiated humans are not so fortunate. This 6-inch leach is semi-aquatic and an active predator in the waterways seeking out mutations to drain the blood from. Humans bitten by it are exposed to a good deal of radiation as well as the hallucinogenic poison the worm carries. They usually drain a target of 10 life points before letting go.
