Zurück nach Tokyo

Da heute meine Rückreise nach Tokyo anstand, konnte ich auch nicht wirklich etwas erleben. Beim Check-Out nutzte ich nochmal ein letztes Mal den japanischen Gepäcktransport und versendete es an meine letzte Unterkunft, damit ich kein Stress beim Bahnfahren habe und die nächsten Tage etwas entspannter verbringen kann.

Zum Frühstück gab es dann zwei sehr gute Croissants. Also wirklich Hut ab, über die hätte ich mich auch in Frankreich gefreut. Da können deutsche Bäckereien nicht mithalten. 😅 Während ich mal während der ersten Hälfte der Bahnfahrt noch die NBA Semifinals anschauen konnte, schaute ich mir bei der zweiten Fahrt von Osaka nach Tokyo den Ghibli-Film "Chihiros Reise ins Zauberland" an. Laut IMDb ist es der am besten bewertete Film des Studio Ghibli und ich wurde auf jeden Fall nicht enttäuscht. Ich weiß nicht, ob ich ihn besser fand als "Mein Nachbar Totoro", aber ist auf dem ungefähr gleichen Niveau würde ich mal sagen. Nur das Ende wurde mir dann etwas vermiest, weil der Akku meiner Bluetooth-Kopfhörer nicht mehr ausreichte. 😞

Für die zweite Fahrt reservierte ich mir außerdem einen Sitzplatz auf der in Fahrtrichtung linken Seite des Zuges. Die Tohaiko-Shinkansen-Strecke ist für ihren Blick auf den Mt. Fuji bekannt und führt oft dazu, dass die idealen Sitzplätze am Fenster schnell ausgebucht sind. Leider war das Wetter am Fuji nicht wirklich gut und eine Wolkendecke verdeckte den schönen Anblick. Ich konnte ihn leider nur am Fuß des Berges etwas erahnen. 😞

In Tokyo angekommen, ging es dann auch direkt Richtung Unterkunft. Da durch mein spontanes Buchen doch sehr viele Hotels schon sehr teuer waren, entschied ich mich mal wieder für ein Kapselhotel. Hier hat es aber auch einen Wellness-Bereich mit Saunen und einem Onsen, den ich vorhabe zu nutzen. 😄 Im Endeffekt bin ich mit meinem Standort in Akasaka gar nicht so weit entfernt von meiner ersten Unterkunft in Tokyo.

Zum Abendessen machte ich mich dann auf den Weg zu einem Soba-Restaurant, dass etwas weiter weg lag. Ich nutzte die Distanz für einen abendlichen Spaziergang und konnte so auch nochmal im Hinblick auf die nächsten Tage ohne Regenschirm aus dem Haus. Das Soba mit Tempura war sehr lecker und ein rohes Ei aufgeschlagen über dem warmen Reis ist ein Gamechanger. 😄

Leider konnte ich heute auch nicht viele Fotos machen, weshalb es nur ein Bild vom Essen und eins von hell beleuchteten Bürogebäuden geben wird. 😂 Kann auch sein, dass es die nächsten Tage generell weniger Bildmaterial geben wird. Das hängt sehr davon ab, wie viel Neues ich noch erleben kann.

Das ist nämlich grade das große Problem. Ich habe noch überhaupt keinen Plan, was ich machen soll. Das schlechte Wetter hat mir meine Pläne dann doch etwas kaputt gemacht. Aber ich werde denke ich schon noch was finden.

So mid-April we have yet another Senshi birthday, that being Rei-chan! As usual, I wanted to post a cover again. But things got kinda crazy with me trying to finish and post the very late "Eternal Eternity" video, then I gave away my desk, and was busy with some personal stuff. And then just when I was about to record, I got a tickle in my throat that basically makes my throat get really dry if I even talk for too long, let alone sing. It's probably related to the weather and all the dust from the renovation stuff happening at my house…at least I hope. Anyway…that derailed my plans for the song I wanted to cover (Mars's Crystal character song, "Hi no Umi").

But thankfully, I had a cover already recorded of one of Rei's '90s anime songs, "Eien no Melody," which I meant to post for Rei's birthday last year and never did for some reason. So I'm posting that instead. (This is the song that got turned into "Oh Starry Night" in the DiC dub, for those of you who are long-time Moonies).

I recorded this at the end of a long session recording other songs I was trying to catch up on, which is why I think my voice went the direction it did in this song. I considered re-recording it, but decided the over-the-top performance kinda fit the song and kept it.

Also…I know this cover is like a week late…that's on me.

Oh, almost forgot to share this. I introduced “Kaguya-Sama: Love is War” to my co-worker. I managed to convince him to read the manga and he managed to catch up with the series recently. His thoughts: 

1) His favorite character is Maki Shijo and desperately wants her to be happy at the end of the series. Because of this, it’s become a recurring joke that I’d make fun of Maki’s lack of a love life (for example: “Maki’s love life is as dead as Naruto’s parents.”) and he’d get fake outraged. My humor can be kinda dark, okay.

2) We both came to the same conclusion that Chika Fujiwara starts out as the best character but becomes the least interesting of the main cast as the series goes on. He even mentioned skipping the ramen chapters because he got so sick of how little she mattered to the story. 

3) We both agree that Papa Shirogane is the funniest character in the series.

4) Somehow, it became a recurring joke that I’m actually Aka Akasaka and that I’m using a pen name lol. I think the joke started because I analyze “Kaguya-Sama” all the time, so that means I must be the writer. 

5) We both agreed that Rei Onodera and Ai Hayasaka look too much alike. So, another recurring joke started where Rei was meant to be Hayasaka but the manga editors accidentally named her Rei. So Aka had to go “fuck it” and created a whole new character to explain the editing mistake. Basically, we started calling Rei “Fake Hayasaka”. 

6) Regarding Ishimiko, he wants Ishigami to be the one to confess, especially since it’s been Miko who has been putting in all the work. He joked that Ishigami needs to go “full chad” in order to complete his character arc.

Overall, he really enjoys the series. So far, this was the fourth series I got him hooked on (the first three were Asobi Asobase, Demon Slayer, and Spy x Family).
