Headcanon Time!

♫:  three of my muse’s favorite songs

Given Sera would honestly say anything traditional, soft, lyrical - Essentially she'd sit and listen to soft rock or local music, really, along with, ironically, the Stamp song from Remake, she'll never explain why - I'm gonna cheat and pick off my playlist for her. XD The top three would be Speechless - Naomi Scott, This Is Me - Kesha (which admittedly in more modern verses does make her cry when she's able to listen to it and is one of her primary theme songs), and Return of the Snow Queen - Phrynna <3 Though honestly anything Lindsey Stirling releases is also way there, both on her playlist (Foreverglow especially!) and as something Sera herself would listen to!

☃:  does my muse like the holidays?

Sera loves them, especially christmas! There's something comforting about them, especially now that she's older, and she loves christmas especially for being a season where people are generous. For a few weeks out of the year, people reach deep into their heart and become kinder, gentler, more open - Things she wants to see all year round, and she hopes to eventually see the magic of christmas eventually stretch out past those few weeks.

She's also especially fond of holiday decorations - she never really got to see those as a child, and now that she has her own home and family, she's prone to going all out and decorating everything she can, especially if it's sparkly and shiny! <3 Sparkly easter eggs, glitter and fake snow, lights and sparkles... She loves all of it, and never fails to get lost in the magic of the holidays! <3

Tending to Zack's sword and doing chores. Although it's way too big and heavy for her, very nearly matching her height, Sera will stay up all night to clean it and make sure it's ready for use the following day, even if it doesn't appear to need tending to. Likewise, she's forgo sleep to get her household tasks done, or to run errands and take care of deliveries - If she has anything left to do at the end of the day, she simply can't sleep. It weighs on her and leaves her restless, and more than once Zack's woken in the middle of the night to her in the kitchen washing dishes rather than actually sleeping beside him.

In truth, it's not so much of an obsession, though it certainly presents itself as one, and is more in line with her traumas; Sera will call it a need to be a 'good kitty' to those close enough to her she feels safe being completely honest with, and it ties in both with her nickname of 'Kitten' from Zack and her past abuse. Being 'kitten' is something of a personal shield for her (for reasons I won't get into here because that's a meta/HC in and of itself) and serves as her last line of defense, and she desperately wants to be 'good' - She wants to be dependable. She wants to be reliable. Upbeat. Not a bother. Helpful. Someone people look at and smile, not roll their eyes and get tired of whenever she's in the same room as them.

If she gets everything done she needs to, nobody has a reason to complain about it. If his sword is clean and tended to, it's one less weight on his shoulders, and one less task he has to worry about. If she can keep the kitchen clean then nobody can worry about it, or call her out on it not being sparkling. Work done on time, or even better early, means nobody else is put out because of her. She's not a disappointment, and nobody will be angry or upset or disappointed in her. She's kitten, and she's been good and helpful!

oh hell YEAH i get to ramble

first off is daughter of darkness, im still not done with the entire album (as it is seven hours long) but the opening track alone has completely taken over my brain. this shit is amazing

second off is done processing! i dont really know what to say about this one apart from the fact that listening to this song makes me so incredibly happy and it just. i dunno feels like sitting in the snow at dusk and its. ITS GOOD its really good :) just reminds me of spending time at my grandparents' house during winter

the last fic i posted on ao3 was a copy of the quick lil thing abt gale and astarion, which obvi took less than a day, but the last fic i finished was settling and that took a couple of days i think.

Dragon Ball for the series asks!!

Ahhh, DB! So much good stuff! So much I don't say because how trash the fandom is!! But I really am full of love for the holy trinity that is DB/Z/GT, baybee!!

Favourite character

None other than Son Gokū himself! This guy set the template for Every Single Other Shounen Protagonist Everafter, but he remains the Original, and the Best ;3

Second favourite character

This one is a bit more movable, but at the mo it's Vegeta, because he's a hilarious determined stupid yet smart moron with a sexy silky voice (OG Ver, before Horikawa had smoked so much...)

Least favourite character

Buhhh....... it was easier to pick when the franchise hadn't swandived, now every character I formally disliked gained many Likable Points in retrospect, except for some nothing, useless filler characters who only exist to suck.

The character I’m most like

Probably not Gokū, rather one of the many plucky but compartively weak humans, but I always aspire to become closer to a Gokū type! But there's no shame in being Skilled Human Level in this verse lol

Favourite pairing

I'm afraid it remains Kakavege, though Gochi and Gobul both are extremely close. Kakavege has the heaps of [un?]intended subtext working firmly in its favour and just the combo of my two faves gives it the edge. But yeah, any Gokū ship works pretty well as he plays off the other characters excellently~

Also Vegeta's character arc works a lot better if you read it as him having a huge crush on Gokū that makes him act stupider as is a large part of his post-Cell, pre-Boo Depression

Least favourite pairing

idk lol, I s'pose again just ones that would be very toxic, like Freeza with any of the Saiyans

The original anime, is The Anime, y'know? I wanna give it a perfect score but for now, showing restraint, the whole shebang gets a very respectable 9/10! That Androids and some Tedious Filler cost it, but overall it remains my favourite productions (...that seems to lack Steam Engines entirely lol)

🌸 - Do they care about flora? Can they identify flowers? 

Kiku loves flowers! One of her favorite hobbies is gardening, but it doesn’t matter what her aim for her garden is, she always has a section from flowers nearby, and makes sure she’s growing at least one kind of flower for the season, every season. She can’t name too many, but there’s a few handfuls of flowers she can name, be it by having grown them herself, reading into them, or just because they’re from the area... And probably collected, dried, and pressed into a small book hidden in her desk drawer. <3

🍱 - What do they do for packing their own lunch?

That depends on Mako’s mood~ She’s actually prone to making cute bentos for her family and Takeru and Kiku could probably tell you all about her ‘pupento’ - a puppy-themed bento - from years of her making them for them, but for her own lunch, she’s a lot less creative unless she’s in a good mood or making them all lunch at the same time. If she’s not making a bento, then it’s just simple, reusable containers with cute zoo animal patterns in a matching cloth bag, which... Honestly works fine for her? XD Especially since her favorite lunch is her favorite comfort food: Yakisoba! <3

Whenever she’s making bentos, though, she has a fennec fox themed box that was a gift from Kiku for her 16th birthday she falls back on - Ironic, though, since she’s always the one with the kitty themed bentos!

🍱  BONUS - Kid’s lunches ?

Fuse ILU for this <3 Hiko and Sumi’s lunches are almost always a bento, and always customized not only to their tastes, but also Hiko’s diet and the suggestions they give her at the start of the week. Every sunday, she sits both of the kids down and asks them what they would want for lunches during the week - It doesn’t matter what they suggest, she makes a note of  it and tries her best to give them exactly that, albeit within reason. They can suggest a bento of nothing but various candies, they’re not getting it! XD

What she does do instead is try to mimic requests she can’t logically give them, so a a lunch of nothing but candy would see them with a bright and colorful lunch still healthy for them, but using food colorings and different veggies cut in various ways to resemble candy. Overly sugary recipes are kept to a minimum due to Hiko’s diabetes, but instead she tries to make up for it with a variety of their favorite foods in multiple variations and cute styles and themes, and tries to keep no two lunches looking the same.

For a bonus, their bentos, which are in boxes themed after lions for Hiko and fireflies for Sumi, are wrapped up in cloths themed after a lion cub playing with a butterfly, made by Kiku. <3

27. How do they relate to their appearance? How do they wear their clothing? Style? Quality?

Admittedly, her appearance isn’t something Sera thinks all too much about or a normal basis, but how she looks changes a great deal on where in her life she is. For the most part at any time, you can count on her being as clean and presentable as she possibly can be at all times; hair brushed and neat, clothes as tidy as she can get them (which is difficult to keep up while a homeless traveler), teeth brushed... She likes to make sure she’s presentable, even if her outfits can say otherwise.

Clothing, on the other hand, changes depending on which point in her life you’re looking at. One of her core beliefs is that no matter how poor of a lifestyle she leads (living in trees, surviving on a handful or so of berries a day for meals...), there’s always someone out there who has it worse than her, and that’s left Sera with the desire to give everything she can to someone who can use it more than her. As a result, at this point in her life, she own three dresses at most, and not a single one of them are free of holes, tears, and snags in the fabric. She tries to keep them clean and presentable, but that’s easier said than done when they look more like rags than actual dresses, fitting her decently, but not exactly well. More modern verses are worn-down skirts and a pair of light, torn pants, a product of being able to stay in homeless shelters and help out.

Should she find a home with someone, like she has with Ky, she eventually does learn she’s allowed to have possessions without it coming off as greedy, and slowly begins widening her wardrobe, though she still has a limit on just how much she keeps, and does still occasionally give large chunks of it away. This is where she settles into her daily style - Well-fitting but still relatively loose, modest skirts and dresses, the occasional pair of jeans, and light sweaters make up the majority of it, with perhaps a single formal dress in the mix, just on the off chance it’s needed. All the fabrics are cheap cottons at best, but they’re also clearly taken care of... And if one looks close, she’s made sure any fabric reaching her wrist, as well as occasional, delicate pieces of jewelry, are as loose as can be. She can’t stand anything tight-fitting and especially nothing tight on her wrists, nor coarse fabrics - If she’s going to wear a wool anything, it’s going to be a wool shawl in the dead of winter at best and then give it away the next day.

A fun fact: Sera’s unbothered by her clothing and appearance while she’s homeless, regardless of verse. To her, they’re well-worn and show she’s a hard worker, and she is, to back up those claims - But she is bothered whenever she’s among good friends and companions whenever they’re among other people, such as being around Ky whenever he had to be around others before she moved in. On the flip side, she’s not embarrassed by herself... She’s embarrassed her companions must be (are, in her mind) embarrassed and having to wander around with someone beside them who looks like she just walked in off the street... Even though she literally did. It’s not her, it’s what people must think of them for having her close.

Amusingly, for both girls, the answer’s the same: Takeru!

For Kiku, mornings are a struggle; she’s a naturally sunny-in-the-morning kind of person, and getting her fiance out of bed to face that definitely is easier said than done. She’s had to pull his blankets and pillows away from him just to make sure he gets up, and won’t leave the room aside from to shower until he does - And if he’s not up by then, she’s dropping pillows on him until he gets annoyed enough to drag himself out of bed!

With Mako though, she’s got a different method: Food. Having lived with him as long as she has, both legitimately and as his hangout after school, she’s picked up on a few things - namely just how much Takeru budges for a good, hot meal. She’s not much of a morning person herself if she doesn’t have to be, so if lazily nudging him while she’s getting up doesn’t work, or even stealing his blanket in passing,then her next stop is making breakfast and teasing him with the scents - and a glimpse from the doorway of his plate - until he grudgingly  gets up. Usually to steal a piece of bacon from her plate instead. Spoilers: She always lets him-

BONUS: In their Fireflower verse, it’s both Mako and Takeru that take forever, leaving Kiku to huff at the two of them usually trying to become a pair of pure blanket loafs together. Two normally outnumber one, but when that one is their ‘keeper’... Bed’s usually empty faster than they can blink. Nobody crosses the butterfly. She always wins. XD

3- Which of your muses is the most powerful?

Easily Avramax. <3 In his World Legacy canon, he’s literally a god by the end of the card lore with the ability to essentially soft-reboot the entire world. In his Vrains canon, he’s a powerful link monster with a high attack, though in both, he’s by far not unbeatable. He can still be easily taken out, but when it comes to strength among all my muses? Physically, that’s Avramax.

Mentally and emotionally, however, I can’t pick. They’ve all been through some rough times that’s seen them all grow into strong people who deserve to be called powerful in their own right, be it through dealing with trauma or overcoming the odds and coming out on top.  So for these two sides of ‘powerful’, the honor goes to all of the muses here. <3

6- Which of your muses is the most troublesome? 

I’ve already answered this one but I think this time, I’m gonna say Hiko and Amai, since they’ve recently been moved here! Hiko’s just a kid with a lowkey obsession with lions, but he’s also incredibly active. He’s bouncy and eager to get out and do things, and he doesn’t know the meaning of ‘slow down’ any too well - He sees an adventure and he wants to go on it, no matter what trouble it causes! ...Especially dangerous given he causes a lot of it doing that but-

Amai is much the same, but he has the added ‘bonus’ of being able to see duel spirits like his father. He’s constantly distracted by them and following them around with his sister and friends and tow, though he doesn’t really talk about the ability much. He doesn’t sit still very well, doesn’t focus well if it’s not something that naturally catches his attention as a kid with ADHD, can easily get lost on an adventure because of it.... Amai is often getting himself into trouble as it’s oftentimes what catches his attention, and like Hiko, he only has the best of intentions whenever he does.

Doesn’t make either one of them less trouble, though. <3 Kids will be kids~

She hadn't meant to laugh. When her lips parted, she'd expected words to fall from them - Not the light but tired laughter that escaped in their place, leaning back against the tree she'd sat under like it was the only thing that could keep her upright. He'd been through more than she could ever dream of, she was sure, but somehow, those words had left her with a feeling of closeness to him she hadn't felt since they'd been younger and living in Midgar. A feeling of familiarity, even, warming the blonde through to her core.

"I didn't mean to laugh, I promise-" How many times had Sera uttered that same sentence to him since they'd met? It felt like a thousand times over, yet unlike in the past, it lacked the old timid, nervous tremble that had once been present in everything she said and did. This was a friend, though many would have questioned her if she'd said that aloud by now, wouldn't they? Just what exactly had he gotten into in the years since he and Zack had left for Nibelheim? ...Did she... Really want to know?

"I don't know what you've seen," she continued, turning her gaze first down to the ground, then slowly up to meet his, "but I feel like I can agree with you. This world is..." Something. Evil. Horrible. Needing help. Someone to turn it down a better path. There were a lot of ways she could finish that, but in the end, all the woman could do was wave a hand in a weak gesture to fill the empty space. How did she word it when she barely knew what to do with either of them yet? Or if she should even let him further into Gongaga? If she snuck him to the house for safekeeping, would it backfire? Would she ever get her thoughts under control-?

Ultimately, another laugh followed. "Sometimes I wonder if recovery like that is even possible in full. The things we've seen... Even just the war in Wutai for you, I'm sure, and... The past for me. The things Zack saw that took away his smile for the longest time... I wonder if people like us can ever actually recover like we want to. There's no forgetting, and sometimes no forgiving, either - It's an uphill struggle we have to deal with. But is there an end to it? I don't know. I'd like to hope so."

The pain, the heartaches, the nightmares... The struggle to feel whole, and in some cases, to feel human. The endless late nights just staring out the window, waiting for the racing thoughts and matching heartbeat to stop. The waking nightmares and memories, the traumas that popped into mind whenever they so felt like it, the inability to look at things without a tight chest and a fight to remember you're okay now...

"It's going to be okay." Was that said for her, or for him? Both? Sera wasn't sure, quickly turning her head to hopefully keep Sephiroth from seeing budding tears pricking her eyes with familiar stings. She was older, now; showing him tears wasn't something she wanted to do anymore, friend or not. She was stronger, now.

...Wasn't she?

"We'll be okay. We're not alone anymore. I promise."
