In my medieval course, we just discussed Parzival, and honestly my favourite character is Parzivals cousin Sigun. (I apologize for any incorrect retellings, this is based on what I can remember from the lesson. She also had to rush the course, so it's really random. Corrections welcome.)

Parzival meets Sigun like 4 times:

1. Her husband is dead and she carries his headless corpse around, as she like... Talks to Parzival over tea or smth.

2. I think she kinda curses him here, because he made a mistake at some king's place. (Was that her?)

3. She let herself be cemented into a square and gets fed through a slit in the wall.

4. Dead

Scythe: How do they show off?

SNOW isn’t much of a show-off, but she’s a skilled sniper and doesn’t mind a little showing off when it comes to gun tricks. She also dresses in bright white, which sort of stands out, but that’s just because of her name. She’s got a brand to uphold, y’know? DESDEMONA shows off in an academic way. She’s very intelligent, and while she doesn’t want everyone to know that (there’s hostility toward intellectuals in Yharnam), she likes to drop hints that she knows more about what’s going on. Though, on that front, she can’t be too open about everything she knows. PENELOPE shows off in subtle ways, as a show of strength and political power (she is an empress after all). One of her most prominent displays is pretty simple: she bares her ears, which are evidence of elven heritage. She’s one of very few half-elves in her continent, so showing she’s not afraid of heretics is a pretty impressive display. Having the head of the dragon she and her friends killed to make her empress above her throne is pretty big too. BRYSEIS doesn’t have to try — she has gilded steel armor and bright white robes, dark red-brown skin, curly hair, and sheep horns. She stands out very naturally.

Hammer: When have they been heavy-handed, for good or ill?

SNOW isn’t a particularly heavy-handed person — like her namesake, she is light and delicate. She has stood up for herself in the past, and assertiveness feels like aggression when you’re not used to it. But her touch is hardly noticeable. DESDEMONA is also elusive, but in a much less delicate way. She can be heavy-handed but prefers to manipulate quietly, leading her marks to the right direction without letting them know she’s doing so. PENELOPE wrested the rule of Stormstone from the previous king by a Trial By Combat, which is pretty heavy-handed in my opinion. Beyond that, she’s a skilled negotiator who isn’t afraid to make a few threats if she needs to. She prefers not to but she will, if necessary. BRYSEIS can be self-righteous, and she has a heavy hand regarding her beliefs and her sister’s lack thereof. She tries to be open-minded, but isn’t really.

tonight i am meditating on the nature of fusion AUs bc having spent years trying to perfect the art of engaging and interesting fusion AUs that aren’t just straight-up shoehorning the characters from canon A directly into the roles/story of canon B with no thought for how the characters’ personalities, foibles, backstories etc would translate into the new setting

sometimes i just have to admit. some “characters from canon A mapping directly over the roles from canon B” fusion AUs are just straight-up fun to think about precisely BECAUSE every so often there is a fusion AU where that DOES work. absolutely impossible for me to actually be satisfied by writing such a thing ofc, but dang it’s fun to think about.

#specifically. what prompted this post was the 13 era/bifrost incident AU that i occasionally like to think abt as of abt a year ago. #no redeeming qualities no original things to think about just the pleasure of shoving the characters into the exact roles with no changes. #it's low-hanging fruit enough that you don't even have to reach for it!! #(like super low-hanging. 13 = loki yaz = sigun tecteun = odin dhawan!master = thor.
