Keith plays Wayne Thomas in Slim Chance (S01xE35) in Doctors.

Doctors is a British television soap opera, first broadcast in the United Kingdom on BBC One on 27 March 2000. Set in the fictional Midlands town of Letherbridge, defined as being close to the city of Birmingham, the soap follows the staff and their families of a doctor’s surgery.

Gallagher & Lyle editaron su quinto álbum de estudio "Breakaway" en A&M en febrero de 1976, momento en que Sex Pistols daban sus primeros conciertos. Curiosamente un año más tarde el sello fichó y rápidamente expulsó a Sex Pistols. "Teníamos a Sex Pistols pero eso se vino abajo. Estuvieron en A&M durante una semana en marzo de 1977, y fue más tiempo del que merecían quedarse". Herb Alpert a Goldmine Abril 1980. Puede que Sex Pistols no necesitasen a A&M, lo que es seguro es que A&M no necesitaba a Sex Pistols.

¿Y qué pintaban Sex Pistols en un sello como A&M? Nada. Lo raro es que les fichasen. Querían renovarse y creyeron que contrataban más o menos a unos artistas "normales y corrientes" y se equivocaban. El carácter del sello de Alpert y Jerry Moss estaba en las antípodas de lo que Pistols representaban. Los que sí pintaban ahí eran Gallagher & Lyle. Aunque nunca llegaran a dar el "pelotazo" como Supertramp, era un dúo acorde a la idiosincrasia del sello que lanzó a Carpenters y publicó a Burt Bacharach. Más tarde pasarían a ser parte de la escuadra A&M nuevos, y buenos, artistas bastante más adecuados a su filosofía como Police, Joe Jackson y Squeeze.

"Breakaway" es uno de los mejores LPs que he escuchado de soft- rock, disco sólido y bien trabajado - tal vez no tanto como el de los Pistols- con dos temas muy conocidos, el titular que versionó Art Garfunkel y la deliciosa "Heart On My Sleeve", que Bryan Ferry hizo suya. Un disco como éste pudo ser una de las razones por las cuales surgió el punk. Lo pongo y me gusta. Es bastante bueno.

La historia en la música de Bennie Gallagher y Graham Lyle se remonta a 1959 cuando fueron parte de The Bluefrets. En 1967 publicaron el single "Trees"/ "In The Crowd" para Polydor bajo el nombre Gallagher-Lyle y tocaron en dos sencillos de James Galt muy apreciados por los coleccionistas de Northern Soul. Después ficharon con Apple Records, dónde firmaron canciones para Mary Hopkin ("Sparrow", etc). En 1970 fueron miembros fundadores de McGuinness Flint para quienes escribieron la mayor parte de sus dos primeros LPs y el single de éxito "When I'm Dead and Gone". En 1972 formaron Gallagher & Lyle y en paralelo participaron un tiempo en el Slim Chance de Ronnie Lane.
