in light of tedtrent becoming so real, im also jumping on the tedtrent epilogue 😊

there's just no way ted wouldn't keep in touch with the others (and have weekly zoom meetings just like in the christmas special) and I just love the thought of the whole team having reunions once in a while.

and going back to trent's arc in s3, the sunflowers conversation, "And your daughter?" "She's never been happier." I think it could go the same for ted.. we've never really properly saw how henry felt about his dad being in london, it's always other people that told ted his son misses him, who's to say henry would rather see his dad happy because that in turn would make him happy too? he was there to win the whole thing, right? I just know ted’s story isn’t done yet when he still hasn’t learned to let others take care of him in return and who else to pair him with than the man who blew up his career because a man was nice to him (and also because they were so. so cruel for the fakeout tedbecca scenes for that finale) 🥺

#hadestown #art #my art #tag ramble as promised:#firstly #i’ve been thinking about redoing this as digital art #(like - mostly the same but cleaner and with some of the details fixed) and probably will if i have time #because i like this composition a lot #but! for now i am oddly happy with how this turned out despite being traditional art/watercolor (no undo button. sobs.)#and it Is a noteworthy day for hadestown with lola tung and lillias white departing #(this is Not meant to celebrate them specifically - i used the obc as reference not them - i just think it’s a nice day symbolically)#so i thought i’d put this out. whatever. yknow.#oh a second thing i will say is that this was a great excuse to check out the slime tutorials on youtube #i spent like 9 or something hours on this :/ so. plenty of time to have things on in the background while i was working. we love slime #thirdly! two things i feel like are worth mentioning rq for Symbolism:#wait for me reprise (intro) originally having wedding procession imagery (from anaïs mitchell in working on a song)#is what first made me desperately want to put the flower/petals on the edges (it still fucking haunts me)#though it was a solid composition choice in general i think #and i mean. clearly the carnation should be prominent. it’s the carnation. from hadestown.#i don’t think the wedding procession reference comes across the way it turned out but that was the first thought #NEXT ouroboros. the snake devouring its own tail (i legitimately forgot that this was why i first drew the rattlesnake that way but #fundamentally i really did just want its tail and head to point to each other lmao)

I mentioned before my confusion on the whole “Dark Cacao Chocolate” bit on Dark Choco’s new outfit, and now I’ve just come to the conclusion that it’s his full name

I mentioned in the tags that I thought it’d be funny to have a scene where Dark Cacao calls out to Dark Choco and calls him by his full name, and Dark Choco knows he’s messed up because of it. Like, you know when you’re in trouble when your parents call you by your full name? Basically that. So I decided to draw that here because I thought it was funny

To be honest, not sure I like how Dark Cacao turned out. I kind of half assed him, and I feel like redoing him. I’ll update the drawing if I do

But yeah, take this joke, hope you enjoy

Edit: I completely redrew Dark Cacao, much more satisfied with this.

It has also come to my attention that unfortunately, this was actually just a bad translation of the new outfit, and it’s just supposed to be Dark Choco Cookie

Bökh: „Over 20 years ago, there was also a boarding school here, as you might know. And there were teachers that were good and others that were less good. And there were Externs and Internals. And there was a boy who was as homesick as you, Uli. And who read as much as Martina. Loved cake like Matze. And wanted to become a pop star, like you, Jo. And he had an enemy. His name was Robert. He was an Extern from the town here. And although this Robert seemed the have everything the boy wanted, he still picked on him. Pushed him around and made fun of him… Well, like the Externs have done with the Internals for generations, right.“

Jo: „And vice versa.“ Bökh: „Exactly. And vice versa.“ Bökh: „…yes. And one day, the boy’s mother got sick. She was brought here to Kirchberg into the hospital and the boy snuck away from the boarding school every day to visit her. And one day he was caught by the boarding school director. And he got grounded.“

Martina: „Couldn’t he just say what was up?“ Bökh: „No, because it was a very… cold and stern man whom he didn’t trust. And Robert in turn knew from his father, who was a doctor at the hospital, that the boy’s mother was fighting for her life there. So he offered his help."

Bökh: „And so every night he layed in the boarding school bed in place of the boy. So that he could visit his mother. And then they became really good friends. Even had a band together. They weren’t all that bad.“ (sighs) Bökh: „I certainly don’t need to tell you who this boy was, right?" All of the kids in unison: „You, Herr Bökh.“ Bökh: „Exactly. And why I’m telling you this story.“ Uli: „I think I understand it.“

Matze: „So we get Chips and Lemonade?“

(chuckling)

Jo: „The Externs today aren’t like that.“ Bökh: „Jo, I obviously care about two things. Firstly; rules are well and good, but not as important as humanity. Ok? And secondly I want you to trust me, that you’re not afraid to come to me. Okay?“

The kids nod.

Bökh looks at his watch.

Bökh: „Alright. I need to get a bit of work done now.“ Martina: „But what happened to Robert?“

Bökh slumps back in his seat with a heavy sigh.

Bökh: „Ach. Robert, he… I think he later studied medicine in the city. Ah, we unfortunately lost touch.“

Jo: „Why?“ Bökh: „… Well, that- That happens sometimes when you become an adult, then… suddenly, your closed loved ones are gone.“ Jo: „… What, just like that?“

Bökh nods silently.

Bökh: „… Mhm.“ Matze: „How sad… I think friends should always stick together.“ Bökh: „Yeah, exactly.“ Jo: „Can’t you prevent that somehow?“ Bökh: „Yes. We need to look out for each other. Ok?“ Bökh: „Alright. I need to get a bit of work done now. Take your lemonades with you.“

The kids scuffle and stand up. Jo takes a bowl of chips with her as well.

Uli: „Thank you."

just fired my therapist who has been ghosting me for 4 months because she sent me a letter threatening termination because "i have not responded to any contact and continued silence will be taken as agreement to cancel services"

literally fuck you. actually fuck you. she would call WITHOUT WARNING when i would be out running errands and then when we actually have a scheduled meeting she would cancel 20 minutes after it was supposed to start.

therapy is sooo incredibly useless. i have never needed it, it has always *harmed* me more than not having it.
