Came back wrong...except did they really?

Okay yes, they look absolutely horrific, maybe even grotesque--they're a ghoul that can now only shamble instead of walk, or a ghastly phantasm. But they're not roaming around eating brains, or letting out shrieking wails as they curse the living, or hurting innocent people at all.

Their voice is still the same as when they were alive, or close, they still talk like the person you knew and loved. They act exactly the same. They have the same smile, the same laugh, and they still look at you the same way. Their gaze, while ghoulish, still holds the same softness, because they still know and love you--and everyone else who they were close to, just as much as when they were a living, breathing human. While their appearance may have changed, that has not.

They are, for all intents and purposes, the exact same person as when they were alive, just a bit more spooky now.

They've changed so much since being brought back--yet they haven't changed at all.

I would like to start this by saying that I love your writing. However I am curious as to if you are a part of the Deaf community? I saw your fae!Roach stories where you added sign and I like the idea of that but you also give him a sign name and it rubs me the wrong way. I don’t mean to be rude about it and just want to make sure that you are aware. It’s just that giving a sign name as someone who isn’t in the Deaf community is super disrespectful.

Hi! I've been learning asl on and off for about 4 years, but I'm not part of the Deaf community.

I want to start by saying being disrespectful to the Deaf community wasn't my intention. My intention was only that as a fae Gaz would never finger spell Roach's name, and would have to use a signed nickname for him. I suppose I could have, and perhaps should have, simply not had Gaz signing with Roach. However, since Roach is selectively mute, I felt like it would have seemed one sided for Roach to be signing and Gaz to be speaking. I want the 1fae1 to meet Roach where he is instead of expecting him to accommodate them.

I don't know how much overlap there is between the Deaf community and mute folks, so I don't know exactly what to say in terms of sign names there, but I'll drop the 'G' from Roach's nickname and just use the sign for insect. BSL is part of Roach's identity within the story, I don't want to drop it entirely, but I understand your concern.

Also if you know the BSL sign for cockroach I would love to use that instead because I could not find it even after like an hour of research.

Action on equal pay is sorely needed to address these inequities, but Republican Senators have blocked vital legislation, S. 728, the Paycheck Fairness Act, that would achieve critical progress. The median annual earnings for women working full time, year-round in 2022 was $52,360, or just 84 cents for each dollar earned by men, with much wider gaps for most women of color compared with white, non-Hispanic men. All women—regardless of the number of hours worked during the year—typically made $41,320, or 78 cents for each dollar earned by all men. Discrimination is one of the factors contributing to this gap, leading to thousands of dollars in lost wages for women over the course of their careers. That’s why we need the Paycheck Fairness Act. The Paycheck Fairness Act would strengthen existing equal pay protections, prohibit retaliation against workers who discuss their pay or challenge pay discrimination, limit employers’ reliance on salary history, and much more. These robust measures would bring us one step closer to equal pay. Women and families cannot afford to wait for equal pay. We need to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act now.

Ganondorf is a man with a very strong sense of justice and a very skewed sense of morality. I think it's actually because he cared that he'd ever punish or let his people be punished like she was. Twinrova were his mothers too, so, it's likely he trusted their judgement more than anyone else's. A lower ranking pair of gerudo might not have gotten away with dealing justice in his name like that.

No, I don't believe that every single person who joins the police force does so just so they can have an excuse to hurt people, and act like overgrown school ground bullies. Obviously.

I'm sure that there are some people who become police officers out of a genuine desire to help the community, and, well, 'protect and serve'.

However, they're still part of a system that actively targets, oppresses and dehumanizes people, regardless if they've actually done anything wrong.

Even if they're literal CHILDREN.

The justice system is INCREDIBLY broken and corrupt, and like it or not, even if someone starts out as the most innocent, purehearted lamb of a cop and yes even if they're someone you know and love, one way or another, they won't stay that way.
