tumblr in reddit terms
blogs: personal subreddits where the theme/topic is 99% of the time just “me and whatever the hell i feel like at the moment”. for reference, the most common other theme rn is “wizard roleplay that never breaks character”
reblogs: crossposts. these are crucial to maintaining tumblr’s ecosystem. due to blogs generally having fewer followers than subreddits have subscribers, this is the way that posts get seen and passed around. the vast majority of posts on a person’s blog tend to be reblogs, so if the people you follow dont reblog a whole lot, your dashboard is gonna be a ghost town. post limit (combined total of reblogs and original posts per day) is 250, so feel free to go hog wild
tags: this one is complicated. theyre a combination of flairs and Comments But Low-key. you can use them for organization and to avoid seeing content you dont want to (go to your blog, settings, account settings, content you see, and then add tags you want tumblr to warn you about before seeing it). if op tags the post #reddit (in the tags, not the body of the post), itll show up in the #reddit tag when anyone searches that tag. tags are also used for comments that dont really add anything to the post. you know how a jpeg gets kinda gross when its been through a million screenshots and has ifunny watermarks and shit? thats what adding “lmao same” as a comment does to a post. comments stay on reblogs, while tags show up in 4 places: op’s notifications, the notifs of whoever you reblogged it from, when someone clicks on the “notes” button of a post and actively looks for the tags left on it, and when people view your specific reblog of the post (like a follower would on their dashboard)
likes: upvotes but weaker. almost everyone turns off all the algorithms (settings, account settings, dashboard preferences, toggle off the first 3 options. also, make sure your dashboard is on "following" and not "for you". this is highly recommended), so leaving a like doesnt boost the post in any way. they still matter to some people. you can also use them to bookmark a post and go back to your likes later
enthusiastic and/or hyperbolic tags: reddit gold. you wanna let op know you like their art? leave something like ”#printing this out and stapling it to my forehead #op you wanna get married?” in the tags
pornbots: both reddit and tumblr have an issue with them. we block and report them on sight. they usually have hot women as their icons, no posts or reblogs, and a description like “22, brazil, nurse <3″. try to not look like that if you dont wanna get blocked by everyone you follow
blocking: you have this as well, but it seems like a bigger deal on reddit. the reason we are not twitter is because we block bitches who annoy us and move on with our day. do not feed the trolls
things we dont have:
karma: clout-chasing is The Most embarrassing thing you can possibly do on this site. we are all in this circus together and the clown who gets the most laughs is still a clown. popular users will literally deactivate sometimes because clout is a burden. no one here makes money

So I've been seeing a lot of discourse lately about minors and smut. Is it ok for them to read it? To write it? Etc etc...
And so I wanted to share my own opinion and please, I would love to know your opinions as well (you can comment, reblog or anonymously send an ask to voice your opinion about the matter) and let's keep this respectful and civilized 💕
Alright so first things first, I myself wrote smut for the first time when I was 15 years old (I'm currently 18) and posted it on my insta account which didn't have my age on it and I was never asked to disclose my age on it either.
I've personally never seen anyone express their discontent with minors writing smut until this year. I'm sure I've just never come across it and it's actually been a big point of discussion for a long time and I was just never aware of that.
Now , before I go on and talk about things in more detail, let me say one thing:
‼️If you're uncomfortable with the fact that I used to be a minor who wrote smut then please, block me and move on with your life. I'm simply here to share my opinion ; as someone who has experienced being in the fanfiction community (as a reader first then later as a writer) since the age of like 11 or 12; freely and discuss this topic with people who are open to have a genuine conversation.‼️
With that out of the way, let's continue.
What's the situation all about?
To put it simply, a certain amount of writers are expressing their discomfort about minors reading their work and/or them reading smut written by minors and/or seeing minors writing smut and posting it.
(if you're one the people who doesn't like minors writing smut , can you please explain it in detail? I would love to hear your opinion and have you share it so that people can understand the situation from the p.o.v of someone who's directly affected by it)
How do I feel about minors reading/writing smut and posting it on the internet?
I feel complete and utter indifference towards this situation, that is why I feel like a neutral and unbiased opinion like my own is needed in this discussion.
Now, would I go out of my way to read and/or interact with a smut writer if I knew they are a minor? Absolutely not. But I do not care if they read my work and enjoy it. My work is posted publicly and I'm not interested in monitoring who reads it and who doesn't.
Should minors read and/or write smut?
Should or shouldn't they is truly up for debate and depends on the person.
What I'm interested in pointing out is the fact that they can and they will do so if they're determined enough.
Now do you ,as a writer and/or reader, have the right to be uncomfortable and have the right to set your boundaries? Absolutely yes you do, however that doesn't change the fact that kids are determined and will find a way.
Is it possible to get rid of minors in the nsfw writing space?
No. No , it's not a possibility. No matter how much you shame them and berate them , no matter how much you ask nicely and beg them to leave , minors have always been and will always be part of the nsfw writing community in one way or another.
And I believe it's not possible to get rid of minors in the nsfw writing community because they are kids. Let me explain.
They are underdeveloped humans. Majority of them do not understand nor do they comprehend why someone would feel uncomfortable towards them being part of this community. Most of them are simply not capable of understanding even if you explain it thoroughly.
Now you can , in fact, scare them off and berate them and shame them and attack them to make them leave. Yes, you can do that , but should you?
Being hostile or passive aggressive won't wield a positive result. On the off chance that they leave the community or delete their content after your confrontation , they could easily come back with a new account, a new identity and lie their way through to avoid your hostility towards them. And believe me , I've seen it happen before.
Not only would you be wasting your time by shaming them into leaving, but you'll also be encouraging other minor smut writers who witness your behavior to lie about their age as an attempt to avoid people like you. And that would only complicate the situation more.
What to do if you're uncomfortable with minor smut writers in general
Block them and move on. Trying to kick them out of the community won't work since even if you succeed they can always come back like I already stated in the previous section.
Is there a solution to this issue?
I personally don't believe there is a perfect solution that will satisfy everyone but I have come up with a solution where we can all meet in the middle. I don't believe that it's a perfect solution but it's the best solution that I could come up with. (Please don't be shy and let me know what you think is the best solution)
My solution to this issue
As I've already stated , I don't believe getting rid of minors in this community is possible so that option is off the table for me.
I think we should encourage minors to be honest about their age , that way whoever is uncomfortable with them can avoid them and block them.
Like I said before , I'm well aware this solution has its flaws and it's not perfect by any means, however I believe this is the most civilized solution we can use. If we can have minors disclose their ages truthfully, we can separate the community into multiple sections , one of those sections will house the minors all together, far away from interacting with adults who are uncomfortable with being in the same space with them.
Again , I would love to hear your opinion about this situation if you're part of the nsfw writing community, and I would love to have a nice , civilized and respectful conversation with anyone who's willing to talk. I want to broaden my understanding of the situation and having these types of discussions is the best way to do so.

The “When Are You Updating?” Ask
I should say up front that this isn’t in response to anything I received. This topic came up in a Discord server that I’m in and another friend of mine got a similar ask shortly after.
I’ve alluded to the fact that this Tumblr isn’t my first account and that I’ve written for other fandoms previously. What I haven’t talked about is why I’m taking an extended hiatus from that fandom or why the majority of my work in this one has been one shots.
Historically, I’ve been a long fic writer. On my other pen name, I posted a long fic that had a fairly decent following in that particular corner of fandom. I’m a slow writer under normal circumstances but when the pandemic hit, I started having more trouble writing and my updates slowed a lot. I worked in a public facing role and the stress I was experiencing was unlike anything I’d ever dealt with before. About a year into the pandemic, I got pregnant.
To sum it up: I was pregnant, which put me at a higher risk for developing complications from Covid. I was working in a public facing role, which increased my risk of catching Covid and had the added factor of people being aggressive about not complying with mask mandates. Because of my pregnancy, I was not able to take critical medications, which then negatively affected my focus and energy levels. I was dealing with other chronic illnesses that were exacerbated or changed by pregnancy, as well as the physical symptoms of pregnancy itself. Then there was also the delivery, which had complications, as well as adjusting to life with a newborn and then going back to work.
I was upfront about all of this. I said that my fics weren’t abandoned, but that I didn’t know when the next update would be because I was dealing with a lot.
I still got asks asking why hadn’t I updated yet.
I knew that these asks came from a good, well-intentioned place. I loved that people were so excited about my writing that they wanted to read more. I loved that they cared so deeply about my characters. I didn’t want to sound ungrateful for their enthusiasm or their support, nor did I want to initiate a pile on with a snarky reply or make someone feel bad for asking a genuine question. I often struggled with how to word my replies, to find a way to be grateful for their enthusiasm while also reiterating that I had a lot on my plate and that I would write more someday, but that I didn’t know when someday was.
It didn’t seem to matter, though. No matter how many times I said the same thing, the asks still kept coming. The worst ones were the ones that scolded me for taking so long because the sender didn’t know how long they would be in this fandom or the ones that included the phrase “I know you had a baby but…” Those hurt. Those made me feel like people saw me as a content creation machine and not like a person.
Eventually, this started to negatively impact my desire to interact with that community, as well as my desire to write that story. When you log in and you know that there’s a good chance your inbox is going to have one of those notes, it’s hard to feel enthusiastic about logging in at all.
So I decided that I needed to take a break. I still check that pen name every so often and I still intend to finish those other fics, but I need some time. This pen name was created out of a desire to give myself the space to write on my own terms, and I’m grateful for all the people here who have let me do that.
And honestly? If you want a writer to update, it is far, far more effective to talk about what you love about their fic. There are so many times when I’ve been pulled out of a writing slump by a comment or reblog where someone talked about what they enjoyed about my fic. That kind of engagement is more motivating than a request for an update could ever be.
There’s that one post going around with the compilation of crazy AO3 author’s notes—the ones that are like “sorry this chapter is a day late, I spent the night in federal prison lmao.” It’s a great post and I love that there are people like that. I admire people who can create art despite their circumstances. But for every writer like that, there’s someone like me who’s going through some shit and doesn’t have the time or energy to write the same way that she does when things are going okay. I wish people would remember that.
TLDR: be kind.

Hello everyone! Today I'd like to talk about some sensitive topics. Many regressors have asked me how to deal with certain tough situations while regressed, so I thought I'd make a post addressing some of them. General TW!
What do I do if I have trouble eating?
What helps me best, usually, is having someone sit with me and eat. Sitting one on one with someone you are comfortable with can allow you to be open about your frustrations with eating. Whether it be crying or needing encouraging words, having someone with you will help you eat, even if it's just a little bit!
What do I do if someone bullies me for my regression?
I know it is easier said than done, but try not to let their mean words get to you! Age regression is a healthy coping mechanism people of all ages do. Whether you are younger or older, bigger or smaller, your regression is always valid! You are not hurting anyone by regressing, and you are not hurting yourself as an alternative. Age regression has also been talked about in psychology textbooks, so it is not an abnormal thing to do! It is not weird, and it is not icky to be a regressor, no matter who you are!
What if I'm an older regressor? Shouldn't I work past this?
Honestly, no. If you are an adult who regresses, as long as you can balance adult life and still use regression as a coping mechanism, everything is alright! However, when interacting with minors and their accounts, it's okay to give them the support they need if they reach out but do not go out of your way to talk about heavy subjects with them either. Even though we are all a part of the same community, it does not mean that we ignore basic human morals. That being said, the younger generation of regressors, please refrain from bullying older regressors as we want our community to be full of acceptance no matter what! The same goes for the older regressors, do not bully anyone in our community either!
People don't always respect my DNI or put TW on their pages! What do I do?
If someone does not respect your DNI, feel free to block them! For matters such as nsfw, gore, ect, it is completely reasonable to want to separate that from your blog! However, if the DNI has to do with personal beliefs such as politic standings, likes and dislikes, or certain terminology use for the community, that can be work past if they do not message you about such things. For example, a lot of babies are 420 friendly, but a majority view age regression as a pure thing. There is no right or wrong way to regress, however! It is hard to find friends in our community, so we cannot be as harsh to judge others in the way they regress. If a topic makes you uncomfortable, just tell them! If they do not respect the boundaries you have set afterwards, then take action from there as you see fit! Alternatively, not everyone puts TW on their pages. Tumblr has a feature in which you can block certain hashtags, so use that to your advantage! For example, I had reblogged a post of a goose with a knife from one of my comfort games and someone asked me to take it down because they did not like knives. People are not responsible for how you feel about a certain topic, and I explained that Untitled Goose Game was a comfort game for me and I thought the fanart was cute. I asked them nicely if they would not like to see that, to block the hashtags themselves from their feed so the posts would not be visible and they agreed! What may be sensitive to you, may be comfort for others, so always keep an open mind!
I don't like when people call themselves Littles or being in Littlespace. Aren't they nsfw?
Age regressors use a number of terms to describe their regression. While "Littlespace" and "Little" are used in the nsfw community, a lot of sfw age regressors actually prefer that term. The term "Little" is also used in the DID community about their child alters. A word only has as much power as you give it. So if someone refers to themselves as such, but strictly says they are sfw, that is something to be respectful about! Personally, I use the terms "Smol", "Smolspace", "Flip", "Regressor", "Little", and "Littlespace" when referring to my or other babies regression. At the same time, I am strictly sfw and those are the terms I'm most comfortable using! A term is not inherently bad! Again, this is about keeping an open mind and accepting how others regress!
I don't like when this person regresses, it bothers me. How should I tell them?
The best way to tell them you would not like to be their caregiver or be around when they regress is when they are fully in a big mindest. Politely say these things that bother you and politely ask if it is alright to not be around it. Age regression does make others uncomfortable at times, I know we have all experienced that on the giving or receiving end at a point, so it is understandable why some feel this way still. If it makes you uncomfortable, simply speak up! In my opinion, it is better to tell a regressor gently without judging their regression so that they are understanding but not awfully hurt. For example, phrases like "I think it is a great coping mechanism, but I would rather not be around it for personal reasons" or "It's not weird or unusual at all! It's just im not a part of the community at all and I'm uncomfortable since I'm not." Just be sure to reassure them that their regression is valid, just not something you'd like to be around. As for the receiving end, I know it may hurt to hear a bit, but you have a whole online community who supports you too! So utilize your resources!
With all of that being said, if you ever have more tough questions for me to answer, please ask! I am always happy to help you! I hope these answers helped a bit!
🤍 Milku

Ok your tags on the reblog were very cool, would love to hear more about this project. Also, this is entire based on vibes of just existing in or near PA and having incredibly revisionist (and religious) history books, yeah. Sounds right.
Yeppppp! Get ready for a long answer cause i am in the thick of it! I'm pretty much a complete outsider to this topic. USA history doesn't interest me as much as ancient history does. The whole theme of the project is religious in/tolerance, and I picked Pennsylvania because my in-laws are all in Pittsburgh and I thought getting to know the state more would be fun! I've already got a pretty good background in religious history, so most of my research has been contextual colonial history. But the primary source I'm basing my project on is AWESOME. It's "Gottlieb Mittelberger's Journey to Pennsylvania" (free in the Library of Congress btw) and it's just so full of amazing information about colonial PA and how it was viewed by outsiders at the time (for Gottlieb, it was pretty godless and not worth the hype despite how beautiful the country is. He lived in Lancester county for about 4 years before returning to Germany).
The basis of my research is that in Europe, most Protestant sectarians (Quakers in particular) were seen as anti-state/anti-authoritarian. Being a dissenter was the same as being a treasonous terrorist because religion was the basis for most if not all laws and public policy within a country. So dissenters like William Penn were heavily discriminated against based on their beliefs and punished by the state as tho they were public enemies number one (spiritual danger = real danger). So quite frankly, because the America's were the place for criminals to be sent anyway, it kinda made sense to let dissenters leave and rotten themselves and their communities else where. So William Penn gets permission from his buddy King James 2 to create Pennsylvania as a "holy experiment" for liberty of conscience (and Quakers) to go. Penn advertises in England and Germany for the most part about this land of religious freedom and opportunity. With a little censure from the crown about how he sets up the colony, Penn makes it law that people can believe what they want and therefore worship and do what they want (within reason). From the outset of the colony, we have a very diverse environment full of very diverse people. No single people's settled PA, despite Quakers being a majority for a time and even when they weren't the majority they still held most of the power in the colony.
Anyway, all the secondary literature I've read all say the same thing: Penn's holy experiment was a success. Religious tolerance helped make PA economically and politically successful and set up all the American colonies for an equally successful revolution. But I've noticed that they're all ignoring, or just plain forget because 'MURICA, that the colonies were not completely separate entities from their parent country and are enabling the narrative of usa supremacy and individualism that DID NOT EXIST at the time. Individualism sure as hell did exist, but not in the sense of "im an american." It was "I'm an English Quaker" or "I'm a German Lutheran" or other ethnic or religious identification. These historians make it sound like everyone thinks PA was a great thing... but here we have over 100 pages of a German immigrant's travelog that heavily criticizes Penn's colony, telling his fellow Germans that it's just not worth the risk and they're better off at home. Obviously there's a ton more nuance to the account than I'm giving here, but the whole book is him saying "here's this bad thing, here's this good thing but here's the dark side of the good thing that isn't immediately obvious but I will explain it to you for your own good, and here's another bad thing." Most of the negativity he gives about PA in particular is religiously based: anarchy and atheism (exaggerations, but it was how he saw it as a faithful Lutheran). He tells stories of women running the show (heaven forbid!) And how the courts and laws are so lax that everybody does what they want even if theyre sued! These are seen as bad things to him, but obviously to a modern person (and to many a modern Pennsylvanian) it sounds like libertarian paradise. The idea of "success" is what I'm challenging with the Gottlieb account; we as historians are always needed to challenge the narrative. Complicate the story. The 13 colonies as a melting pot and overall success story is a good story and we use it to reinforce murican values in our public schools (something i greatly disagree with but it is what it is). But it's not the whole story and never will be. We've got the puritans in New England doing their thing and the Quakers in PA doing theirs, but what did that actually mean to people at the time? Did they see it as success? I should probably stop now haha! This is getting long. Thanks for asking about my project, it helps me articulate it for my prospectus due in a few days. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

McLean Hospital DID Video Controversey; Our (+ our Fiance's) Take
I'm really going to probably primarily summarize our takes in this post. If you want to see my raw chicken scratch notes (changes from scratch to REALLY scratchy due to me putting back on my finger brace for my sprained pinky) you can try to decipher them here. If there is any part you want me to translate, reblog and/or send an ask or something, but ya know
I have a saved copy of the video here.
Anyways some context to mine and my fiance's background and relevancy to this topic that reflect our opinions and biases on the topic
Me: I have been diagnosed with DID for a while. I've been on social media (briefly on twitter for 2 seconds, but arguably I think one of the larger DID blogs on tumblr maybe? *bless invisible follower accounts*) and use it with a DID focus on one of my social medias. Used to follow DID Youtube. I am also a research nerd and actually, back in university, would try to find time to come out to seminars like this at the place I used to be a research intern on. I very much enjoy these environments and seminars that summarize present concerns and ideas in the research community. I've also basically cleared "stabilization" phase of DID and according to some have achieved what might be considered "functional multiplicity" yet am still progressing with my recovery.
Fiance: He's my partner since 2016 and has been actually living with us for about a month now. He's a communications major with specialization on advertising and marketing and as a decent part of his education focused on how social media is being used and how that stuff plays into effective advertising. He also has a close relationship with his mom that - until he started dating me and I got diagnosed - did he not know that she also had DID as she is of the type that is very ashamed, confused, and embarrassed by it. Between the both of us though, when his mom, him, and I go out to dinner, he is really the only one checked in and its kinda really funny cause he looks like the weird one for not entirely spacing out.
Yes, we made this a mini date night.
Anyways, the point.
The seminar had a lot of really good points, a few alright points, and a few really EHHH points. They also did directly use videos without censoring the users or doing much to protect their identity / reduce risk of harassment which I do feel is problematic cause he did - in part of his discussion about social media and DID - acknowledge that harassment is viral in the DID community for both people who have it and people who don't. I think that in itself is the largest issue and the largest fuck up that he really should honestly put an apology out for imo cause he really did comment on how huge of an issue it is, and did little due diligence to not add to it. While I don't think that is "malpractice" it is unprofessional. Do I think we should take his license for it? No. Do I think he should be held accountable / he owes an apology for that? Yeah probably.
Beyond that huge fuck up, the overall take away I got was that his concern for malingering / maladaptive use on social media on people who DO have DID and those that don't but might think they do / might be faking is absolutely valid and I do think it is someting that needs to be talked about; however he presents it in a kinda problematic way with a clear attitude and perspective that is both very (ironically) trauma stuck and - as my fiance and I started putting it in our conversations - "Boomer Takes"
He comments on how a lot of it is very flashy, performative, and sensationalized and comments on how that can be harmful / dangerous and I do agree, but I also don't think that inherently has anything to do with validating or invalidating how their diagnosis.
I DO absolutely agree with him calling out the trend of monetizing the disorder which I have strong opinions against and I do find it extremely uncomfortable for people to be trying to monetize the disorder outside of genuine extreme situations where support is needed.
I had a lot less of a notable take on the comment on the switches being overt because I actually never seen someone switch in person (his mom is very covert and not the most talkative about hers), but my fiance had a very loud laughing fit over how dramatic and weird they were commenting that neither of the ones he showed looked anything like either of how me or his mom show things.
There was a REALLY good S tier section on the Fantasy Model VS Trauma Model as well as how DID forms and the nature of it in the middle that I think was actually VERY well done and informative and I would like to chef kiss the air at it.
Again, there were a lot of good points to it and it was informative but I do have a few complaints.
The overall issue I find with his rhetoric are
a lot of his points sound mostly anecdotal which is not really the best (he did have some studies but, a lot of "this is not what we see"
he really has a set mindset that seems to summarize to "if they are not completely shocked and traumatized when they switch and are used to it, then they are faking / malingering" which is pretty problematic
he doesn't leave room for the fact that some people with DID do heal and recover from trauma and while most might be experiencing it in a way that is horrifying, people DO heal and discounting the lack of shame and acceptance as reasons to suspect malingering / faking is kind of problematic and against healing ideas
he doesn't leave account for generational gaps in how mental health is approached and while he focuses a lot on how people are inappropriately using DID "content" he only brushes over and vaguely hand gestures at what he would suggest "healthy" usage to look like which once again doesn't serve to be the most productive of conversation
his very understanding of the disorder in short is very dependent on the idea that people with DID "are usually ashamed" and "very traumatized" which the latter is true but again, healing exists
a point my fiance brought up is that while he has a lot of good concerns and points, a lot of his points come from anecdotes and how he "doesn't see these things in his practice" but he never really talked to any of the people he is commentating on the behavior of and the thing with social media is those with the largest following tend to be the extreme ends of whatever niche they are in so it is likely that those with extreme followings likely have extreme (ie atypical) experiences of the disorder simply by the nature of how the disorder is
Anyways, theres probably a few more details worth commentating on or transcribing from my notes but my pinky is sprained and i already wrote a shit ton for this so Imma give it a break and not type it all up.
TLDR: its not the best delivered video but it does have its merrit and the overall concept / concern is valid and important, but the dudes a boomer and has an issue of "poor traumatized and broken meow wows" about people with DID that is kinda annoying and out of touch
TLDR 2: Guys he didn't do fucking malpractice. People who are saying he did malpractice honestly need to get off the internet and learn how to use those words correctly cause yall are watering it down. (insert world heritage meme on the word 'gatekeeping' and 'gaslighting')
Absolutely feel free to reblog/send asks for more elaboration and all on it, but thats just my notes and take from it.

A quick guide to Nutty’s blog
Hi, everyone, new and old to this blog.
Been meaning to write this up for some time. Finally just sat down and wrote stuff because it needs to be done since I’ve recently been posting a few more things in one topic and a few less in others.
This blog started off as a fandom blog. It still is. You will see fanfic and art from the amazing Thunderbirds fandom, both mine and others posted here regularly. Along with prompts, discussions, challenges and other shenanigans. Love da Thunderfam.
If you haven’t already worked it out, Virgil is my fav Tracy brother, but love them all really and write them all to varying degrees.
However, I also post art and craft here, so you will see some of that. Some of you may have followed me recently for this reason. If so, welcome!
One handy thing to know is that I’m a librarian and this blog is tagged within an inch of its life. So with a little fiddling with Tumblr, you can follow/block any tags of mine you want to, or don’t want to see.
So here is the key to my blog :D
For the Thunderfam:
Nuttyfic is where you will find all my original posting of my fic (except the very early ones - it took me a bit to clue on that I might want to find my stuff one day.
Nuttyfic reblog is where I reblog my previously published stuff at a whim or because I wanted to at some point. These are all repeats and formatted differently from my new fics. you can block this one if you find them annoying.
thunderbirds fanfiction and thunderbirds fanart are basically what they say. Everyone’s, including mine, blogged, reblogged, whatever. If you are looking for a particular person’s work on my blog, all work reblogged by me has the artist’s name tagged to the post. For example, tracybirds, gaviiadastra, soniabigcheese, thatkidwholikesthunderbirds, etc
Flyboytracy, our amazing gif-maker, I plead guilty to reblogging a lot of their stuff (though likely only a fraction of what they have done - find them at @flyboytracy )
TBDailyDose is my tag for all my screen shots. So if you are looking for art reference, this might be a great place to start. Admittedly, you will discover how often I reuse favourite shots, but there are a lot of headshots in that pile. I really should capture more.
I’ve also tagged for character content - Scott Tracy, Virgil Tracy, John Tracy, Gordon Tracy, Alan Tracy, Grandma Tracy, Kayo Kyrano, Hiram Hackenbacker, Jeff Tracy, Eos, Penelope Creighton Ward, Aloysius Parker.
Bro combos - earth and sky, fishtank, astroturf - not a complete list this one and many more recent than some of the other tags.
There are some relationships tagged as well - virgil/kayo, scott/em, scayo, virgil/brains, gordon/penelope (pen and ink) - if you are not a fan of romance, I’ve have been tagging for that for about the last year, so it can be blocked if you desire.
I have also tagged all my major series, but you are probably better served by visiting my Ao3 account where everything is in order. But since I’m here...Kermadec AU, Supermen AU, Steampunk AU (and Where there be dragons AU), Callisto, Marks and Wings, Warm Rain, Gentle Rain.
And then there are some of the challenges held in Thunderfam - fanartam, fabfivefeb, irrelief, sensorysunday, nuttys fandomversary, fluffember.
Wow, that’s a lot of stuff.
For those of you not into fandom:
nuttybeads - all my crafting, which tends to be mostly beading, but does include crochet and micromacrame as well as whatever else catches my eyes and my wallet :D
nuttyart - admittedly this does include some fanart, mostly Thunderbirds, but from time to time, I do other stuff - like I should be doing :D
I’ve also recently started a palette challenge, for however long it lasts - you can find it tagged nuttypalette.
There will also be geeking out over nature topics and the occasional piece of photography usually of beaches, sunsets or critters.
And that is pretty much it in a nutshell (a very big nut in my case :D)
I hope you enjoy whatever you end up following here.
Nutty

i've just seen your posts on dash biscuit and its so sad you're feeling like that :( If i'm to tell you the honest truth biscuit, I don't remember how I found your account but i remember being so intrigued and hooked immediately - I went on to read your War General Kiba (to somewhat expose myself.. I am War General Kiba anon from around a month ago) bc your writing itched my brain so fuckin good !!
It makes me so sad that uni started recently for me and I have been so caught up I haven't gotten around to reblogging war general kiba because I haven't gotten the moment to write my thoughts regarding those:( they're sitting in my drafts. I decided I would read every single one of your fics a month ago (unfortunately I haven't been able to yet) - including the naruto thirst you elaborated on for me, and though I haven't gotten time to read it, THANK YOU SO MUCH BISCUIT for taking your time out to do that :( <3
You deserve every single one of those likes , but you deserve them alongside an equal amount of reblogs :/ i sincerely hope that these followers and whatnot pull their heads out of their ass and start reblogging - because if they don't, they're not going to have anything to read. bc biscuit you are such an amazing and talented writer, and it always blows my mind we get to read your masterpieces for free. FOR FREE!!!! that is so crazy like, this is stuff that could get you MILLIONS and we have the blessing from you to type a few words onto our screens and read it! like WOW thank you so much <3 🍁 anon
oh my gosh, you’re so sweet; imma start sobbing!
listen, you don’t have to apologize for not being able to read my fics; i get it, life happens and we get busy as people and fanfiction definitely is NOT everything there is to life! so please don’t say sorry for that because there is literally no need for it, like i said. YOU’RE GOOD!
it just grinds my gears that i’m not allowed to vent on here about this particular topic because some people will INSTANTLY jump the wagon to call me ungrateful. i get it, i get notes, but people usually don’t understand that likes don’t mean shit on here and that the majority of those notes are just that: likes. sure, i get a little notif that someone liked my story, but i have no clue what they thought about it based from that heart. i have no clue if they’ve even actually read it. to make matters even worse, it makes the post just straight up fucking die.
i spend hours and hours and hours writing, editing, rereading, tweaking the same story for ages. i could just not post it and keep it to myself, sure, but i enjoy interacting with my moots and my followers in general, and giving people that share my interest in the same characters something to read about, because let’s be real; kiba is niche af. i like feeding the kiba girlies because i barely had anything to eat a couple years back when it comes to him and i’ve worked my fucking ass off for those notes over the years, SO OF COURSE I APPRECIATE THEM, OK?
this debate, or whatever you wanna call it, has been circling around here for ages and it’s useless at this point, i think... writers, artists, creators of all sorts say “please say thank you for my creation that i made for YOU after you’ve asked, i beg” and people call us ungrateful or stuck up or whatever the fuck. i mean, do people seriously think i enjoy self-reblogging all the time and begging for interaction like that robin hood meme with the cup???????? no, i do it because it is the only way people will see my work before it disappears into the ether once again, ffs!!!!!!!!
ANYWAYS, i will write a drabble for your war general!kiba ask when i have the time, i promise! i just want to actually make it good and write like a proper story instead of just my thoughts because he is very dear to me and i am a perfectionist when it comes to my royalty AU and it makes me overthink and just… yeah! he has been sitting in the back of my head, clanking his heavy weapons impatiently, lmao.
I LOVE YOU!

A small rant about statistical representativeness
so with polls fucking everywhere, i wanted to comment on the "reblog for a bigger sample size!" thing. because some of these polls are getting many more responses than actual published journal articles (they're in the tens or even hundreds of thousands) but they are still not necessarily REPRESENTATIVE.
so in experimental design, there are names for different types of sampling. the most statistically representative is stratified random sampling, but most published articles* use opportunity sampling because without a baseline number of participants, their statistical power will be too low. the problem with opportunity sampling is that it tends to be less representative, because it's just whoever you can get, rather than proportions that more accurately represent your target population. however, it's good enough for many published articles*, so what's the problem?
well, tumblr polls don't use opportunity sampling. the instruction to reblog means that what we are using is actually snowball sampling - where a few people are reached out to directly by the experimenter (in this case, the followers of the person who made the poll) and they then recruit people from their social circle to engage with the experiment as well. this means that, by design, the experimenter is receiving data ONLY from people whose social circles overlap in some way with the original sample, their recruits, etc. This is actually great if you're looking for a specific group - the TLT poll i made yesterday is being reblogged to audiences who mostly already know and care about the series because i tagged it accordingly. if i hadn't, my responses would have been skewed by people who didn't know what the poll is about.
HOWEVER! when a poll is not targeting a specific population within tumblr, but the population of tumblr as a whole, we have an issue. when people claim that the results of their poll show overall metrics for tumblr, we have a MAJOR issue.
firstly and more broadly, no sample - regardless of size - is truly representative of a population unless the sample contains every member of that population. this is almost never feasible outside of surveys within companies, schools, etc., where completion of feedback is mandatory. and samples like this are self-selecting - they ignore people who use tumblr sporadically and miss the poll window, people who don't like polls and therefore never answer them, people who think the question or the asker are silly or irrelevant to them. and then we have the snowball sampling issue, where users are basically asking a room full of people who have been proven to agree with them on several topics whether they agree with them on another, often related, topic. tumblr has a pretty strong block culture, meaning whole swathes of the site CANNOT SEE EACH OTHER. this means that ANY result you get on basically any poll is going to be representative of part of tumblr at best. this isn't even accounting for bots, joke answers, or people misreading the poll and being unable to change their answer.
this is, to be clear, absolutely fine. as i said, many published studies* have this exact issue (WEIRD, anyone?). but if you make a tumblr poll, it's important to be aware that these results don't prove anything. hell, even published studies* with more rigorous sampling and statistical analysis avoid using the word 'prove' because the best thing a study can be is replicable and statistically sound.
*to be clear, my area of study is psychology, so i'm not 100% on other scientific fields' research methods. since tumblr polls are more sociology/psychology than anything else, i feel it's an appropriate comparison.

On a side note, while I won't be deleting my account over on Reddit, I am most likely going to stop using it specifically because I realized how unhealthy that site is for me due to the nature of the upvote/downvote system.
Like I really don't care about being the most popular fanartist/writer on the internet, especially with how small my fandoms tend to be? My real fatal flaw is that I care way too much about what other people think of me and am a major people pleaser as a result—one of my biggest ongoing personal struggles is accepting the reality that I can't be friends with everyone and some people are going to dislike me no matter what I do. It's been bad enough in the past that I have lied to myself about my own opinions just because I was afraid of my friends disliking me if I didn't agree with them on even the most mundane of topics, and I ended up molding my personality into something that wasn't really me at all.
On a site like Tumblr, you only know if someone does not like/disagrees with your post if they say it to your face, whether by adding a comment to the post via a reblog, using the replies function, giving a lengthy rant in the tags, sending an ask, or making their own post commentating on it. Otherwise, it's fairly easy to live in ignorance of the people who dislike you and/or your content. On Reddit, people don't have to say anything to let you know that your post is terrible or that your opinion in the comments is wrong—all they have to do is hit the downvote button, and that silent dislike somehow manages to be worse than them yelling at you that [character/ship] is terrible and you should be ashamed for liking them. At least in that case, you know it's just one person and can ignore/block them. If your take—which may not even objectively be a bad take, just one that's not of the popular opinion—ends up getting more downvotes than upvotes, you can actually see the number of people who dislike/disagree with your post/comment and it's not fun.
It sucks because Reddit has one of the most active English-speaking Rune Factory communities on the internet and finding people to talk to about it is difficult since it's such a niche fandom, but I don't want to be using that site if I'm obsessively tailoring my posts and comments just to avoid getting too many downvotes. I told myself a while back that I was going to be true to myself and post the content that makes me happiest without caring about what anyone else thinks, and I intend to do exactly that. Having fun is far more important than worrying about the like-to-dislike ratio on a post or comment.

All of us interact with this blog. We do not use name sign offs, as it makes us uncomfortable when addressed directly, but we do have our own sign off phrases.
What is this blog?
It’ll mostly be syscourse takes. I seek to add my own insights into syscourse, either on other's posts or on my own. If you want to see regular reblogs without as much of my prompting, or less nuance, you can check out circular-bircular.
My biggest syscourse take is this: syscourse is garbage and damaging to people, regardless of their beliefs. I consider myself pro-endo, and occasionally used syscourse unaligned because I do not fall neatly into either “category” of syscourse. I also use the label sysmed inaccurately as a way to reclaim the trauma I’ve undergone in syscourse. Please look at my BYF for clarifications of my beliefs! Lastly, you could call me pro syscourse conversation -- I want to have these discussions, but in less harmful ways!
I just want a space where I can talk about syscoursey topics that ACTUALLY matter to me (like discussions about littles or in-sys relationships, for instance). So here that space is! I will likely touch on endogenic / traumagenic stuff as well, but I want to focus on stuff I’m actually passionate about - not just following what syscourse makes me angry about.
BYF
I want clarity of my beliefs for those who want to follow. These are what I feel the important ones are.
Fakeclaiming has never been and never will be okay.
People can be mistaken about their disorders (or lack thereof) and that’s okay.
Researched Self DX will always be valid.
Every person, regardless of their beliefs, deserves a baseline of respect.
Shared spaces can be beneficial, and exclusive spaces are needed too.
“Sysmed” and ”Traumascum” are transphobic in their usage.
I believe in endogenic plurality. Endogenic systems exist.
That’s just some of them. Obviously, this isn’t everything, but it’s a baseline.
I’m going to be liberal with the block button if you’re damaging for my mental or physical health. I do not owe anyone a response, nor do I owe anyone clarification. This blog is a personal blog to get my thoughts out of my head. Nothing more and nothing less.
I am NOT a professional. I’m just a person living life with DID. Please respect that.
For those who are concerned about block evasion: if we interact with you and you have MotCR blocked and would prefer we not interact, please let us know. We will block you ASAP to avoid further interaction.
Thanks for reading!

Hi. So I've been really wanting to make a Hana Kurokawa blog, but wasn't sure if the KHR fandom was still really active. I was wondering if you could maybe give me some tips with talking with people outside the fandom?
[Unprompted ask]
Yeah-- the KHR fandom as a whole is kinda dead BUT! people who muse them still exist! I've seen a lot of them on multi-muse blog rosters. I'm not the most active nor am I popular (I purposefully don't advertise my blog bc shyness/fear/insecurities), but I know if you did make the blog, you could count on me to interact with you. Across different blogs, I play: Haru, Kyoko, Hibari, Daemon, Ravein (OC), and Pino (OC). I'm sure others who play KHR muses would love to welcome you to the RPC.
As for advice, I don't know how helpful i'll be, but I sure will try:
When starting out, posting a promo post for people to spread around and like is helpful to get attention. Stating that you're crossover and/or OC friendly really helps get more attention.
It really helps if you're open to making various verses for your muse. If you have a lot of various verses already planned out and written for people to read through, it may increase your chances of being appealing/engaging to others.
If there are other fandoms you're interested in, consider making a verse for that series and try approaching people to see if they'd be interested in interacting. Some people may be willing to jump into your universe.
A lot of people in RPC are shy, but from experience, very willing to try out anything. It's great to just talk to people ooc a lot and vibe with others. As you vibe and rp with people, sometimes new followers will come from others stalking interactions. I've gotten most of my followers that way as I actively do not advertise myself across my blogs. People find me from their friends, usually.
While it doesn't exactly answer your question, I think the most important thing is to be patient and not get too discouraged quickly. It can be slow to find people to interact with outside of your fandom. If you keep at it, you'll be bound to find people. Don't give up too soon if it's slow.
If you have a wishlist or something, that's great! A lot of people love to look at wishlists and use that as inspiration for interactions!
On the topic of posting promotion posts: posting open starters, starter/plot calls, or reblogging memes are great ways to start interactions. Even a shy person like me has no reservation about liking calls- but I may hesitate for starters (bc i'm dumb). For this, it is a good idea to post at different times to account for timezone differences!
This doesn't quite relate to helping interact with those outside the fandom but it's just general RPC stuff: do make it easy to find information. It's important to have an accessible rules page on top of information on your muse. Not having a rules page is a major turn off for many.
Hope that helps!

you've been posting about performative activism and social media, so what do u mean exactly? isn't social media meant to be used to help spread the word on issues and important information? isn't making even a small change in the RPC by banning problematic FCs and plots?
pretty sure i said this before but i'll say it again: spreading awareness is NOT the same as activism. and i agree, social media is a great way to spread information quickly to the masses but it's also a double-edged sword in that it also allows for propaganda and misinformation to go viral that can harm important causes.
my commentary has been about what i've been seeing on my dash the last few days about i/p. i've seen some users auto-reblog #free palestine posts with sources from tiktok, twitter, instagram, and other random tumblr users that are just sharing personal feelings on the topic minute by minute by minute as if they're not really reading what they're sharing. those are the ones i'm commenting on because i frankly don't feel they're doing anything to further any change and it kind of distracts from the important information needing to be shared. for the record, my commentary is NOT referring to the ones who are only posting information about where and when strikes are happening, what companies and brands to boycott, and donation links. THOSE are all HELPFUL posts to share and i am all for it.
and on top of that, i've yet to see how banning anything in the tumblr rpc has changed anything socially. banning things for the comfort and safety of a group's mindset isn't activism in my opinion –– it's just basic human decency. don't get me wrong, i believe in writing what you want it's fiction and impossible to believe a public space can cater to everyone's perfect ideals, but i also believe in just... common sense?? idk (this is one very specific example i personally experienced) maybe let's not use a virus breaking out as a plot device in an rp when covid is still fresh and ongoing in the world. there are people who've lost loved ones or may still be suffering from longterm side effects. obviously i think we can apply that scenario to pretty much any major world event like war and genocide and school shootings and other things that are truly traumatizing and i'm sure none of us would like to encounter writing in fiction. sure, if banning a plot or fc makes even one person in a group environment more comfortable for whatever reason i'm all for it. but again, it's not really activism because it's not changing anything outside of tumblr.
also from what i've seen as an outsider observer, i've yet to see any positive reinforcement for those who listen to voices speaking up on groups who didn't know something they were doing was problematic to begin with. even after apologizing and amending it, public shaming on all their mistakes under the guise of "holding people accountable" continued. that's not activism, that's just bullying.

Tumblr media
Hiya! I'm Tec (he/him) / Galiana or Gali (she/her), 30 y/o
Content warning: suggestive themes, gory content, and some swearing. I will do my best to put anything offensive under a readmore so you aren't blinded, HOWEVER I will NOT be posting NSFW under any circumstance. (And if I mess up, tell me me so I can fix it!)
Welcome to my (remade) little slice on the net. Some stuff before you venture deeper.
💚 Useful tags for my regular posts:
#tec art - for ALL art related media. #tec thoughts - for text posts, quality and substance may vary. #tec stories - for my stories. Character development! #tec refs - for quick references for my characters. Character names will also be used as tags.
(Will be updated with more relevant tags regarding types of content.)
💚 I've been around the roleplaying space since '13, having written posted stories and character biographies since then. I also drew pencil-on-paper for a while starting in around '15, stuff that was on my now-deleted tumblr. Since about '21 I've transitioned to drawing on tablet! Jack-of-some-trades, master of none.
💚 Get me going on my characters and you won't hear the end of it. I love talking about em! My asks are always open for questions, comments and criticism! (For the purposes of this account here, everything's gonna be SFW topics. Sorry-not-sorry. Not taking chances with the rules.)
💚 I enjoy quite a few vidya series! Some of them may also have inspired traits of my OCs. Pokemon, Monster Hunter, Risk of Rain, Dragon Quest, Mario, Zelda, Kirby...and in the past I've played a few MMOs: Maplestory, Runescape, Elsword, La Tale, and a small spattering of WoW. Recently my attention span has grown shorter so I can't spend as much time as I would like with them, as opposed to being productive and creative. The woes of age.
💚 I own too many OCs to give them all equal love...even though a majority of them are Celebi. Oops. Ce-le-bi...er, c'est la vie.
💚 I'll be reblogging stuff here, so content will be mixed. If things that I'd reblog would fall under stuff I'd give a cw for I'll try to also cw my reblogs, but I don't know how that'll pan out with how easy it is to just...not. Be forewarned!
💚 Like my stuff? I'm in other places as well! Active in some more than others.

Tumblr drama ahead...
Thought I could get through this year unscathed without encountering one troll. But NOOOOO! -there must be some clause that stipulates somewhere that every account has to get honked off by something crawling out from out of the woodwork.
The rundown: I make a post of a well-known erotic artist (known across -and over-three different platforms), and make clear in the text description who the artist is. I assume the artist is well-known enough (and that the majority of users are not feebs incapable of looking the artist up for themselves). I did my research before posting-there was a similar post by the artist put up years ago (when "nipple-exposed" was BAD), but the one I had was the restored, uncensored original one (probably as the artist intended) yet to be posted in it's entirety.
The post gets traction....lots of it....the kind that makes me go "oh boy, it's already starting to draw too much attention from some of the more flippy, empty sus accounts here"----sort of like realizing you put too much of a higher wattage bulb in on your porchlight, and now it starts to attract every insect from the tri-state area. I'm sure just a visit to my blog will give the stats on what the exact post is.
Then this random account (that does not follow me, but to their benefit, appears to be "progressive"-not that they touch certain political topics, though they seem overly-argumentative about certain hot button cultural topics-and yes, they've been around a while) happens upon the post and chides me in the comment section (not in reblog fashion, mind you, but just the comment section) for not hashtagging the artist (though noone else seems to have problem finding the artist-I was able to see the post come up by basic search alone)- as if I never intended to make mention of the artist at all, which is obviously not the case. They include an "@" URL in their comment, which turns out to not even be an actual functioning URL to the artist's blog, which already clues me in that they are not the artist, nor are they affiliated with them in any manner.
I notice there are many other accounts on Tumblr who post the popular artist by text mention and do not hashtag, as well, yet, their posting is not as popular....so, why are they not under the same scrutiny as I am here?
I politely mention in a replying comment that if it's a matter of accreditation, I did mention the well-known artist in the text. It must've done the job, seeing by all the users flocking to it. I also mention there are better URLs (then the one they provided) to at least two of the functioning blogs by said artist. To be fair, I go back, and edit my post to add hashtags using the artist's name, if it makes that much more of a difference for the better. Everybody's happy. Right?
Well, the account then replies by taking the obtuse and exaggerated trademark tactic (used by so many Reddit trolls) and wrangles and angles things into this weird mocking of me as being some narcissist who feels they are the only designated conduit of promoting the artist's work....which is not what any single account here on Tumblr ever thinks when posting work from a well-known and aptly accredited the artist.
Keep in mind, no other accounts posting this artist's work (without any hashtags or a vast cluttering array of links going to what could add up to five different outside platforms) is getting this kind of criticism as I am getting here.
I have one of those "doing the dishes" revelations, I pull back, and calmly ask "how did they find the post in question". Up until this point, they never addressed why they posted a faux-URL from the getgo, as I pointed out, and now they are avoiding telling me how they found the post (because, seriously, what IS this really all about?). The next comment is another attempt to mock me of being narcissistic (again) over a post I supposedly "STOLE!".
Whoa whoa whoa Whooa! Theft!? You are going to accuse me of theft? That is a serious accusation. I never claimed this work as my own. This is not a repost of anything found here; I did my research before posting it. I gave accreditation of the artist in the description.
Anyone who has known me on this blog has known that-in the past-I have called out those that have reposted another user's work without giving accreditation to the artist-whether it be @nicholasklaw (who clearly left for IG), @n-lite , or @wax-pack-glam (seems a lot of A-holes on NewtTumbl ripped off his work and were posting it with out giving props on Reddit-and you can go there and see for yourself the kind of sh!t they are pulling by punishing someone for being creative). If I ever failed to give credit to an artist, I ask anyone to show me my mistake, and I will correct it. If I posted something an artist did not want posted here, I ask that that certain artist in particular to approach me diplomatically, so the matter can be handled in a civil fashion....and I also ask the artist to be fair and track down the other three (or so) sources out there online that have the same image (be it Imagefap, Deviantart, Reddit, etc.) and request the same treatment if they feel they are being misrepresented.
Which all boils down to....what IS this even about?
It''s kind of obvi actually. What we have here is some troll account with a "progressive-light" hat on (the kind that finds it easier to sow divisions and make microaggressions online about gender or anything else, then to actually address real critical outside issues about fascists trying to kill LGBT activists in some countries, promoting BS obstructive Freedom Convoys, invading other countries, or perpetuating conversion therapy in some states-y'know, the kind of incisive topics that most of us had no problem addressing here on Tumblr), who was drawn to this post by an algorithm, and is finding every ungodly means to get a foothold to be a contentious knob about it. It's a shame to think that some of the most persevering accounts on a platform like Reddit are these multi-trophy 8-year+ trolls that are embedded like a case of herpes. It was bad back when every single dang posting on Reddit had some obligatory sh!tposter on there to spew some dumb trash, but as for me.....here on Tumblr....I guess it takes me posting something so popular it attracts someone (with an obvious axe to grind with me for some reason-God only knows) being ugly enough to make the unjustified accusation of theft.
Seems to happen every year. Someone flips out that I-for posterity sake-linked an article about White Supremacists in Germany as an example of how they are covering such topics here, because, I guess they have a flipped-out hatred about American reporting, even as an example of what they were griping about. Another (avatarless) account accuses me of mislabeling a popular gif about Cecilia Lion-and though two other sites positively ID it as her, this account is unable to tell me who they think it really is. Once, I gave a supportive comment about someone else's gripes about empty accounts on Tumblr, and they flip out and demand to know how "I found their post" (uh-it came up by a basic search on the site), and before I can respond, they accuse me of "bad vibes", block me, and then spy on my with alt-accounts accusing me of being a porn/politics blog (just what about my politics upsets them?...Hmmmmm?) with "bad vibes" even (oddly enough, said account loved posting 4Chan stuff....and I'm the "bad vibes?!...OkaaaaAAY). The last example is exactly why I don't take the bait to complain along with these newbie accounts griping about "twue Cwime" (deliberately sic) posters flooding in and choking off the site with their ugly satirical sh!tposting love for school mass murderers....they are obviously colluding with the exact accounts they claim to hate because they want feedback on how toxic they've made a platform and also who they can keep tabs on to harass.
Right now, I just don't need this. I ate something with caffeine that caused a reaction in me, jacked up my blood pressure, and I had to call into work.
Again, if anyone has a problem with how I accredit an artist on a platform that is all about sharing and exposure of an artist's work (especially if I have done it in ANY different fashion than the way any body else here has been doing it here for-God only knows-over a decade now), approach me civilly and to the point. Do not dally around with jacking me on nitpicky protocol (which I was accommodating about, in regards to everyone's beloved hashtags), then look for any axe-grinding way to find an obtuse angle to chide me, and then go for the jugular with false accusation of theft.

this is v random, but i just came across your reblog on ovaryacted’s post and i’ve never really sent an anon before but i feel really compelled to tell you just how incredibly based and eloquently put together it was. It seriously felt like you saw a glimpse into my thoughts and put them out into words, it’s a really affirming feeling to know i’m not the only one that sees just how mentally damaging and deteriorating such works are to anyone’s mind and i feel like thanking you for speaking the words i felt too shy to share😭😭
i heavily empathize with your history with harmful content in fanfics because i’m also 19 and was really young when i was exposed to such material out of my curiosity on what “lemon” meant in relation to fan fiction😭😭 and it’s not up until recently i unpacked and unlearned my internal biases that formed from the socialization and conditioning that came with years and years of consuming such content in spaces where they were normalized, romanticized and even yearned for most times.
And the last paragraph you wrote hit me so hard because it genuinely is so real and so true, it sometimes feels so hopeless to see such works churned out after turning for an escape from seeing just how misogynistic and woman hating the world is only to be met with nearly the same thing i was running from staring back at me but only this time romanticized and sexualized. And as a psychology minor who’s also taken sociology courses, it’s even more jarring to see so many people deem the behaviours in the work as normal because it’s anything but normal???? Like such desires are only formed by the society one lives in and the social conditioning that comes with that, and maybe its paired with an individuals possible trauma, but majority of it is just conditioning.
It seriously feels so immensely gratifying to see i’m not the only one that thinks like this too, because at times i def feel insane and like the odd one out whenever i scroll through the Leon smut tag and see the most stomach-turning works with like hundreds or nearly thousands of notes. This is getting really long😭😭, but i think too much and too hard about how delicate a human mind is to outside stimuli and on topics surrounding social conditioning a lot so there’s like years worth of backlog up there😭 but i seriously just want to thank you for your smart words and well thought out response in your reblog, it has genuinely made me feel so justified within my train of thoughts and less crazy. So thank you so so so much for voicing your opinion, I genuinely hope you have an amazing rest of your day, I wish nothing but the best for you and I hope the rest of your year goes so extremely well!! ૮꒰⸝⸝>  ̫ <⸝⸝꒱ა
Hi !! I’m genuinely so sorry for answering this so late, I pretty much logged out of my account after making that repost since I never use this account, but I agree with everything you said! I’m actually studying psychology myself, and while I haven’t gotten that far in my studies, it’s so heartbreaking to see all this.
It’s so upsetting. Reading fan fiction growing up (specifically smut) altered my mind and thinking so much to the point it literally affects my thoughts every day. I can’t even imagine how I would have been affected if I was a minor coming across countless works that normalized and romanticized literal rape, incest, stepcest, and all of those topics. Yeah, I came across them during my teen years but I avoided them, and never have I ever seen so much support and lack of criticism for them. And it hurts even more knowing that women and girls are feeding into it and enjoy writing, spreading, discussing, and overall fantasizing about it. So many women have faced issues in reality with all that, so painting it as something desirable/as a source of gratification is just awful.
It’s a genuine problem, and it reminds me of the most searched up topics on porn websites. The comments in those videos with men writing about how they fantasize about it or have partaken in those acts is so disgusting—and the same goes with fanfiction. Fantasizing about all that does alter thinking, and I hate when people deny that or say that fiction doesn’t equal reality.
In my opinion, the creators writing these fanfictions can’t blame minors for reading their work. Minors are get access to the Internet so easily now, and if someone is of age and posting that content then they have to take accountability for that, it’s so immature to just insinuate that minors are the ones at fault for not reading the warnings or MDNI banners and saying that they’re the ones responsible for anything that may result from reading it. Like come on, you’re the one making the content and putting it on a site where minors are regularly on.
And I was in the same position, after growing up reading smut that led me into other things like porn, I eventually took a long break to really see how it’s affected me. I think my life would’ve been a lot better if I hadn’t been so exposed to all of that and so many damaging concepts. None of it is innate, if I hadn’t let my curiosity get the better of me and read anything involving certain kinks then I never would’ve even thought of them.
Misogyny is just growing worse, and it’s mind blowing that women are writing about receiving it through sex and making it seem hot and desired. It’s 2023, why is our progress going backwards? Some writings just make the reader seem mindless and childish in a way, it’s so gross.
In my eyes, there’s really no justification for it. I don’t mean to come across as rude, but I don’t care about the excuses people make for spreading such content.
Again, very sorry for my late response! I’m not sure if you’ll see this, but thank you for taking the time to send this in. You’re definitely not alone in your thoughts regarding the situation. I hope you have an amazing year as well! I hope you enjoy the upcoming holidays and all <3
