My toxic trait is that I like how my incomplete drawings look better than the finished things

#im sorry i cant be her (my searching lines)#i cant stop thinking about this drawing i have a sinking feeling that im gonna be very unhappy when its done #or. not unhappy. but not as excited as i feel about it now!#i only worked in two short chunks on it but both were pretty productive #i have a feeling that when i take the time to really dedicate myself to it im gonna fuck something up #like i can see areas i need to/can improve already but the glaring flaws are ok! bc it's not finished!#it OVERALL looks cool and LOOKS like it has the potential to turn out well #but will it... WILL IT??? WILL IT EVER?#i have never been so totally completely satisfied w any finished drawing ive dedicated myself to fully.#tales from diana #this is also only the second time ive done a really deliberate self-portrait that wasnt in some for or another. practice #like of course ive drawn my face before. not that often actually. but since yes i do draw. i have drawn myself #i probably should've drawn myself more times for how often i think id like a nice picture of myself #but then again its not gonna be so 'nice' if i make it and am not totally happy w it?#see one of the ppl who inspired me to learn to draw is ned @sneez my dearest. he's spoiled me before #and drawn me very beautifully on several occasions and it's very much a thing to move one's heart #to see someone dedicate their talent to depicting YOU.#and i might say HE has made me look more beautiful in art than i think i'll ever look in the flesh #which is not to say he drew me inaccurately. but he's so talented that his art is more beautiful than life.#and i dont compare myself in skill to him bc he's been doing it for YEARS and way more trained than me in the visual arts.#like it simply wouldn't be fair so i only compare myself to myself. naturally #but i used to think. very VAINLY i might say. that if i could draw like him id draw beautiful pictures of myself all the time #well ce n'est pas ca mon ami. since learning to draw i've found im much more interested in drawing ppl i find beautiful #rather than myself. im not art. not through my own eyes at least.#i should really draw ned sometime. i really should.#actually somewhat embarrasingly i tried to draw him like 5 or 6 years ago. and i NEVER tried to draw then #i did show him tho and he thought it was very impressive but that's probably just bc he loves me. xoxox #maybe ill post that someday as a throwback just for the hell of it. lol. thatd be cute

fun fact: their tail is based off of a genus of eurypterid called slimonia!! (specifically slimonia acuminata) they used the ends of their tails to cut and catch their prey!!!

#danganronpa despair time #drdt #drdt mai #i almost was impulsive enough to get right into making a full body drawing of someone i havent even drew before #ahaha i need to remember to not do that. i kept messing up her face when i tried doing the second sketch so i drew another sketch #to practice drawing her. especially practicing her face. the sketch where i practiced drawing her face is the colored one #although nice and sweet characters are usually associated with rounder shapes i wanted to add a few sharp aspects #to her design. such as her eyes and body #her design is for the most part. a simple uniform although its unique enough to not be boring #her tattoo and hanging jacket and gloves heavily stands out. and to an extent her boots as well. those are unusual aspects #when designing characters with school uniforms #those aspects to her design may hint to her being a ''rebel''. possibly ''carefree'' to an EXTENT. shes probably the ''cool'' one too #her gloves and boots are pretty interesting. those aspects are more associated with characters that are more careful #she could definitely be an activist but is less impulsive and more articulate with her plans unlike xander #her tattoos are so interesting at a young age. with that aspect to her design.. could she be an adventurous person?#at times tattoos are an result of extreme behavior stemmed from strong emotions/motivations. could this be the case??#id man shes SUCH a mystery and you can have so much ideas with her character due to her design #also yall see that. yall see yall see how much of an OVERHTINKER i am its driving me CRAZBYHGHUGOJGP #mai is very much associated with teruko and xander and david. thats why she is pretty interesting #she could have parallels and contrasts with all of them when it comes to personality.#so her design may have parallel and similarities with all three of them in order to reveal her role in the story and personality #thats actually what i tried to think about while designing her #imagine if i did a mini essay about her design and her possible personality and roles in the game gnigjogp[#problem is that im not finished planning my design of xander and david. and to an extent teruko but i have a decent grasp of her design #so in result of me changing and devolping xander david and teruko's design. mai's design would likely change devolp as well #yeah uh sometimes a lot of thinking goes into making character designs gnujopgokg. #I know I'm likely catastrophizing and also that a day or two won't make a difference #But I noticed a lump a month or two ago and then dismissed it as not a problem #I cannot remember why I did this. Like did it go away? Did I forget?#Either way I noticed it again today. Spent twenty minutes trying to reach my doctor's office #Before I was fully losing my mind (it's terrible on a good day to keep hearing 'we have a patient portal!' and 'we do urgent care on week!'#Once a minute.) And had to hang up and roll into work 30 minutes late #Just tried to call them again and they are at lunch #Like!! I just want an appointment and for someone to tell me it's not cancer or do a biopsy if it is #Because the internet suggests it could very well be cancer!!!!#And I'm limited on what else it could be based on symptoms so like. I'd like to speak to a fucking doctor #So I can know for sure #Either way I'm starting to investigate a new practice because this one has reassigned me three times in 1 year #So I want to try to find a place that is more stable and doesn't have 20+ minute wait times to speak to a human #Update that I called again and had to hang up after 20 minutes waiting for someone to answer #If the bridge weren't an issue I would show up in person #Anyways I'm now hoping to get through at another place and switch PCPs because this is unacceptable #Even the 'are you sick and need to get in today' option had a 10+ minute wait #Why even have a phone

Lmfao my mom was getting on me abt not having enough to do this upcoming semester so I decided ah okay I'll add another class. And that's perfectly fine. But the one I picked results in the majority of my schedule being generally unaffected and still lax, but my Thursday being absolutely fucked.

For reference, on every other day I'd spend like less than four hours in class/commuting(anywhere from zero hours to almost four), but Thursday, its almost 9 hours combined 😭 which is like fine with me, but I think ill despise thursdays after this, AND MY BIRTHDAY IS ON A THURSDAY :(

#she doesnt like the fact that im practically free on Fridays #<- online class that doesnt meet on that day #so ah i hope this balances out sjkfkflg #the way scheduling in my school works has such a weird affect #my mon/wens/fri are gonna be so chill and then tues/thurs is just....something #it makes it worse bcs one of my classes only takes place for a section of the semester #and that class is mon/wens so im only gonna be online after that #though i still think ill have to meet w that professor bcs there is in fact reasoning for that class to be so short lasting #but tues and thurs is just stuff that ill never get any reprieve from lol #four classes in one day. we'll see how it goes 🥰🥰#also thurs will be interesting bcs i will have two classes just abt middle eastern politics #i came across a class on the arab-israeli conflict and wanted to take it bcs its obv very relevant rn #and then the one i just scheduled is also abt middle eastern politics so i really am going to be thru the ringer #not that its a bad thing at all!! i just mean its interesting how relevant this semester will be and how im just getting intensely informed #anyways i think the way i schedule would be a nightmare to anyone else #i try to schedule every class after 12(or 11 at least) so then all of them are crammed right after one another #and i wake up an hour before class and leave myself that meager time to get ready and commute lmfao #my friend asked me when i eat lunch. and im like uh ;;; never? 🥰#lol dw i do eat but like i treat my time on campus like how can i pack this as densely as possible #i dont like sitting around by my lonesome it makes me depressed dhfkkg #also i think i will actually kms with all the writing im goong to have to do this semester #that is my reasoning to my mom abt why she shouldn't be pissed at my supposed lack of activity #like im taking so much thats emphasized with writing. dont worry i will be in fact budy #*busy #catie.rambling.txt

Back when I was teaching Japanese college students, I remember escorting some of my students back to their dorms from a burger place one of the other mentors invited them to late at night (he ditched them there and I was mad about it because they didn't know the area well).

While we were walking back, I was expressing my disappointment and saying it was inappropriate for that mentor to invite them out without walking them back since it was late at night and it wasn't a great part of the city, but after a few minutes I apologized to them saying something like "I know most of you are grown adults and I don't want you to think I see you as helpless children, but I do want to make sure you get home safely," and one of them said in the kindest most sincere voice, "We know. You are like a Japanese mother."

And I was just like *voice cracking* "Cool" and walked them the rest of the way back to their dorms, then walked to the bus with my face buried in my hands.

#i talk #My favorite student also said I reminded him of his mother (who he'd spoken of very highly the entire trip) and I was like #*VOICE CRACKING* ''OH. THANK YOU.''#Man I love all those students so much #That was right before one of the worst periods of my life #but I remember the time I spent with them so fondly #One of them was a 40 year old woman who was so surprised I knew who Kaito was when I saw him on the background of her computer #and she was like ''That is Miku's boyfriend'' and I was trying my best not to burst into giggles because she said it so seriously #My favorite student was an absolute sweetheart. When I said goodbye to him and the rest of my students I burst into tears while going home #All of the Pokemon nerds and I played Pokemon Go together and it was so fun #I mostly spoke English with them because I wanted to make sure they were getting enough practice #but I did speak Japanese with them for funzies sometimes (esp. if they were having trouble understanding something)#but I have a tendency to use casual speech and when I found out one of my students was older than me #(one who I always used casual speech with)#I was like WHOOPS. Well. Oh well #he thought it was funny but I guess technically it was fine since I was his mentor / teacher #He was a very serious guy but he was always very nice #Though the one day I wasn't there he got into a fight with another student because they were rude to him #but you know. it happens #anyways. All of them were so sweet #I almost cried saying goodbye to my elementary school students too when I finally decided to swap jobs #The little Mexican boy and girl I taught came up to me and silently hugged me so tightly and cried and cried and cried #and I almost started crying too #agh #I love kids I love college students #aghhhhhhhhhhhhhh. education is such a tough field to work in and the pay sucks and you're constantly overworked #but I loved my students so much. I still love them. I hope they're all doing ok #I remember when the Orange Idiot got elected one of the students who was planning to study abroad here messaged me #and I asked him if he still planned to come study here and he said yes because ''I believe the good people outnumber the bad''#I think about that all the time

Abusers will fight, argue relentlessly and they don't see the world from a point of view with self-awareness or they don't see the world from others POVs. Some people just are relentless in being right, start fights with more than just you, trust me, there's multiple other people you'll find they do this with too. They'll jump and make assumptions about you and then proceed to attack and argue with you, but when you try to defend yourself because you know you didn't do something inherently wrong...they will be relentless, this is when it becomes bullying behaviors. Anyone of us if we want to can twist, manipulate or argue that something is bad when it isn't inherently bad at all; but thats where the manipulating your POV in the argument comes from. You'd say thats called having an opinion and in some cases it is, but ti doesn't give the person with an opinion a right to harm you over it or change your POV. They didn't have to engage with you, but they chose to and you have a right to be yourself. These people are rash. Like for example you could be reading up on something you found online, but it doesn't mean you agree with it, but a rash person would assume you're looking at it because you agree with it and proceed to attack you over it...this is bullying. They don't listen to reason. They'll abuse you harder if you try to explain yourself or reason with them. It never works. Try your best to walk away from that type of person and gray rock them.
